Uhh edgy. Once again I have no real explanation for what this drawing is, other than that I wanted to draw Otto and it kind of spiraled. I know edgy art in this vein is often considered "cringe" but also I do not care. Anyways he continues to be difficult to draw. I gave pre-orb Otto one of those stereotypical mad scientist lab coats because I have been having fun drawing them recently and he seems like the type to wear one.

Okay I'm trying to solve an Otto-related mystery and I must talk about it below the cut.

Alright so I saw one (1) Instagram post that said Otto's favorite animal is canonically an isopod and I cannot find any evidence to back this up. But I want to believe. I want this to be true so badly because,, isopod good. However I get the feeling that I'm taking a joke too seriously. If anyone knows anything about this please tell me. I love isopods. Convergent evolution with trilobites hehe.. I get the feeling that the logic behind it is that isopods can enroll into orbs. Trilobites could do that too. Otto Mozer trilobite real. Anyways I imagine the intended isopod in this character detail is one of those deep sea giant isopods and not like. a pillbug or whatever. Imagine him having an isopod tank next to his cactus. Give him more rotund bastards.

He is happy (for once) because he has the horrific (/pos) creature :3

Chipspeech Headcanons

Otto and Cider were friends in their college days, collaborating on a lot of projects together despite Otto being the brains of the operation. As time went on Otto began getting more attention, and eventually he wanted to split into his own research from Cider.

Cider's jealousy eventually came to a boiling point when the grant he was going for would possibly go to Otto instead. Panicked, obsessed, and spiteful, Cider sabotaged Otto's project, causing an explosion. The blast burned a little over half of Otto's face and ended up getting him expelled due to the blame of damage being put on him.

Cider ended up not only getting the grant, but securing additional funds from lottery numbers given to him via a fortune from a certain machine in an abandoned arcade he'd visit as a child. (Sam, it's Sam.) This rockets his success as he uses stolen ideas from Otto to build the CiTech empire.

Otto becomes obsessed with revenge, unable to get far in life after the college incident and Cider slandering his name to discredit his claims. Otto lives underground, in a lab far away from CiTech security and is also the only one who knows how to resist the mind controlling nanobots Cider has. (Since he was the one who made them in the first place.) The whole lab is powered by energy redirected from other places thanks to Rotten's help. Rotten supplies parts as needed for Otto and Otto repairs broken down bots for money to further fund his own research.

Otto's lab is COVERED in newpaper clippings, photos, hand written notes, and any kind of evidence he can manage against Cider and is convinced one day he'll finally have enough to take him down.

Otto (pre-orb) and Cider circa the late 80s/early 90s? I haven't put together a timeline. Someone get this man a hairbrush please. Mm I am annoyed because Otto is my favorite character (along with Cider) and I cannot draw him in orb form to save my life. Why is he so difficult to draw. This whole concept was funnier in my head.. oh well

Okay it's MBTI time. I go from fandom to fandom finding the weird scientist characters and then I observe them with my little autistic eyeballs. The fact that both Cider (ESTJ) and Otto (INTJ) are high Te makes me (also high Te) very happi because usually scientist characters end up being high Ti. Cider especially because I often find xSTJ science-related characters to be unlikeable and he is decidedly not. I am an ESTJ-adjacent creature and I must scream

My opinions on Chipspeech characters' types: Cider: ESTJ (TeSiNeFi) Otto: INTJ (NiTeFiSe) Dandy: ESTP (SeTiFeNi) Dee: ISFJ (SiFeTiNe) Vosim: xxFJ (high Fe) Bert: ExTP (aux Ti, tert Fe) Rotten: ENFJ (FeNiSeTi) Spencer: ESFP (SeFiTeNi) Lady Parsec: ENTJ (TeNiSeFi) Sam: idk man, probably on the Ni-Se axis Pedro: ESFP (SeFiTeNi) Voder: ISTJ? Maybe? Definitely somewhere on Te-Fi and I think Si-Ne but I'm open to being wrong. Terminal: ESTJ? He's said his personality is low priority in his system and it's not always running, so idk if he's even really typeable.

One day I might make a post with an in-depth analysis of each character's cognitive functions because every fandom needs a typology nerd that everyone else politely ignores but that'll have to wait until I can actually figure out everyone's stacks in full.

Also obligatory PSA: if you want to take an MBTI test that has a pretty good likelihood of typing you correctly, the best one out there imo is Mistype Investigator, or Jung's Igloo if you want results that are easier to read. 16Personalities is not actually MBTI (Neris is closer to Big 5), and Sakinorva and Keys2Cognition both tend to overestimate Ne so probably avoid them. MBTI is not real science but it's fun to apply to fictional characters, just don't take it too seriously. I feel the need to say all of this because I've had problems in the past where this information would have been useful to have, maybe it'll help someone else. Idk
