about me: i still have the original .zip file containing every single issue of marvel's civil war that i downloaded in 2010. old enough to remember printing copy-pasted a"friend"gers tower-era fanfics from livejournal so i could read them in the middle of my university history classes. literally wept for joy when they announced avengers 1 was greenlit by paramount studios. i am ancient. don't mess with me.

what i like: tony stark. steve rogers, a.k.a. peter's original father figure. deadpool's sparkly nail polish collection. wandavision has been my otp since kindergarten. wanda and pietro are magneto's kids period. the one where literally everyone adopts peter parker.

favorite fandom tropes: clint in the vents. peter, resident Youth of avenger's tower, eating peanut butter straight out of the jar at 2 a.m. steve sleeping on a grease-stained sofa in the corner of tony's workshop. bucky and sam: special guest stars on brooklyn 99. coulson will always be everyone's favorite. kate and yelena are everyone's problem.

what i do not like: people forgetting that a lot of these comics were written for kids who felt (and feel) like outsiders. x-men gave my weird ass a place to belong in my youth and i'll be damned if that wasn't the entire point of the series. fandom drama. discourse in general, but especially discourse that reads like a disagreement between unhinged eighth graders. The Bad Ending.

We've been friends many years but I've never thought to ask; Top 10 gay OTPs?

1.) Ian & Mickey (Gallavich) - Shameless us

What can I say about these two that we haven’t already said about them?! They are my absolute all-time favorite couple ever! Gay or straight. They perfectly complement each other, they love each other on a level I feel like I’ve never seen before (and I have watched a lot of tv/movies), they’re like a comedy duo, they support each other, understand each other better than anyone else ever will, they fell in love as kids, they bring out the best in each other, and they’re each other's best friend. I’m a sucker for opposites attract, who are also best friends. Gallavich really fits that bill. I wish they didn’t have to struggle so much to get their happiness, but I’m happy they finally got it. When they got married, it felt like the biggest victory ever! We went through those years of struggle with them, rooted for them, mourned for them when John Wells let Noel go after season 5. So much has tried to keep these two apart, even real-life circumstances tried to keep them apart. The chemistry between these two characters and between Cameron and Noel was so powerful, they were brought back to the show. That kind of thing doesn’t happen very often. When an actor leaves a show, they don’t usually come back as a series regular, let alone two actors who have already left the show. It felt like a miracle! I will never forget getting the news that Noel was coming back from you @luckyshazmrsmonaghansblog I was crying with happiness bc we wanted this for so long and I never believed we would get to see both Cameron and Noel back on the show. Or that they would get their happy ending outside of a jail cell. Especially after Cameron left the show in season 9. With their return we got a wedding, an entire season of them as a married couple, we got to see them dance with each other twice, we got them singing together, we got to see them start a lucrative business together, we got to see them free and happier than we’ve ever seen them before, and we got to see Terry get what he deserved after putting them through hell. We are only halfway through season 11, but I already feel so fulfilled with this extra time with gallavich that we were never supposed to have. JW tried to take that away from us. I will never understand why, but he failed. I am not surprised this is the one I wrote the most about. I can go on and on about gallavich!

2.) David and Patrick - Schitt’s Creek

This was everything I ever wanted to see onscreen, where there was zero homophobia. The pansexual character didn’t need to have a big coming out or tell everyone in the town of his sexual orientation, except his best friend. The gay character had a coming out with parents who loved and accepted him for who he is and was only upset that he felt he couldn’t tell them sooner. I dreamt of a day where I could see this kind of representation onscreen. The casual treatment of their sexuality was so refreshing and something I’ve been waiting for. There is no darkness or huge struggle they had to overcome to be together or a sad ending for them. They were allowed to be together without the major conflicts most LGBTQ characters have to go through. Once David made the first move Patrick was comfortable allowing himself to fall for David and start a relationship with him. He was so sure of his feelings for David after that first kiss, he never looked back and I loved that. They had such an adorable love story. Truly one I have been waiting to see for so long between two LGBTQ characters. They made me smile every time they were on screen. They are another of my OTPs that are exact opposites who complement each other perfectly. Patrick was welcomed into David’s family and blended in with them so well, even when he and David had very different upbringings. Patrick serenading David with Tina Turner and then Mariah Carey at their wedding is one of the most romantic things I have ever seen!

3.) Holt and Kevin - Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Captain Holt and Kevin are strange men on their own but together they are the perfect pair. They get each other in a way no one else does. The best part is their adorable fur baby, Cheddar! They seriously make the cutest family! I was so nervous when they went through a rough patch for a while because I didn’t want them to split up. Thankfully, they made it through and are still going strong!

4.) Will and Vince - Will & Grace

On the show's first run, Will and Vince were in a serious relationship and Vince was Will’s longest relationship on the show. They broke up a few times but were together by the series finale. The two reunite during the funeral of Will's father. There was a time jump on the series finale. Though I didn’t love everything about the last episode, I did love the fact that Will and Vince had been together for 20 years and raised a son together, who was conceived through in vitro fertilization with a surrogate. After the time jump, nearly twenty years later, their son goes to college and meets Grace's daughter, whom he would eventually marry. Though I wasn’t happy with the fact that Will and Grace didn’t stay close over the years, it did allow for their kids to one day meet, fall in love, and get married. I did like that outcome out of the finale. My family and I used to watch the original show, but we refused to accept or watch the 2017 revival because they completely changed everything from the original series finale. The second I found out they were changing everything; I knew I couldn’t watch it. They even wiped the existence of their kids from the first series finale. The revival was an attempt to cash in on the reboot craze and I wasn’t happy about that already, but even more so when they were going to break up one of my OTPs for easy money. Bobby Cannavale, who played Vince, has become even more famous since starring in Will & Grace. So, I already figured he wouldn’t be back for the show as a regular, but I know he did guest star. I won’t accept the revival and to me, Will and Vince stayed together, and their son married Grace’s daughter. THE END!

5.) Albert and Armand - The Birdcage

Miss Albert and Armand were the earliest gay couple I remember ever watching onscreen when I was eight years old. I have watched this movie more than I can count over the years. It is a family favorite that we quote often. Their son is planning to marry a girl whose father is in politics and is very conservative. They have to hide the fact that he has two gay fathers for one night, but everything goes awry, and comedy ensues. Nathan Lane and Robin Williams give a wonderful performance without resorting to using the stereotypes that are often used on gay characters, especially back then. It’s a classic!

6.) Stefon and Seth - Saturday Night Live

Okay, hear me out on this one! They’re not the most conventional OTPs on my list, but I really do love them so much! Stefon started doing a correspondent segment on Weekend Update on SNL. The first time Stefon came on, he flirted with Seth Meyers. The second he did I was like ooh they would make a cute couple! Stefon the wild party guy and Seth the serious news anchor. It was a match made in heaven for me. Before Seth Meyers left SNL to do Late Night with Seth Meyers, Bill Hader came back to play Stefon for Seth’s last episode. I didn’t expect what happened next to happen at all! They gave Seth and Stefon the ending that I haven’t even gotten from some actual scripted shows. I never expected Stefon and Seth to have this big ending, but I could not be happier that they did. I’m posting the link to the six-minute skit/ending and I hope it works. It’s worth watching. Though the video says it’s Stefon’s farewell it was really Seth’s farewell episode.

7.) Mr. Simmons and Peter - Hey Arnold!

Anyone who grew up watching this show already knew that Mr. Simmons, Arnold’s teacher, was probably gay. It was hinted at in the Thanksgiving episode. Arnold and Helga visit Mr. Simmons on Thanksgiving at his house and his family and “friend” Peter are there. Mr. Simmons mother says she didn’t know Peter was coming to dinner and Peter responds with the infamous line “There’s a lot of things you don’t know.” When Mr. Simmons mom tries to get him to take a woman friend to the ballet, he says he loves the ballet and Peter gives him a disapproving look and Mr. Simmons immediately declines. Those were enough hints for us fans to decide Peter was his boyfriend. Years later, the show's creator Craig Bartlett finally confirmed Mr. Simmons is gay and had them together in the 2017 Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie. It was so exciting to finally get the confirmation years later, even though I was already certain of it for many years. I was happy that the cartoon no longer had to settle with vague hints about it.

8.) Callie and Arizona - Grey’s Anatomy

I was very happy to see a lesbian couple on prime time tv and I really liked both characters. I was excited to root for them but sadly as most couples on this show, their relationship took a turn, and I wasn’t thrilled about it. I was disappointed that it came to an end. By then I was already getting tired of watching the show. It was starting to feel like a chore to watch it every week. I tried to stick it out because I don’t like to give up on shows in the middle of it, but I just couldn’t do it anymore. I’m glad I did though because the shocking events with Derek Shepard, is something I’m glad I wasn’t around for. Anyway, I heard things between Callie and Arizona got even worse, so I was even happier I left when I did.

9.) Sherwin and Jonathan - In a Heartbeat

This was one of the cutest things I have ever seen! I wish this got the full-length movie treatment instead of a short film. But it was still a step in the right direction for the LGBTQ community. Gay characters in cartoons always bring me such joy and that was the focus of this short. A boy with a crush on another boy with a cute ending. What is not to love?!

10.) Mitch and Cam - Modern Family

Another show I had to give up on in the middle of the series. The show began to be less funny and more annoying to me. Another reason, that really has nothing to do with the show itself, that used to annoy me was that this show repeatedly beat out Parks and Recreation during award season. Parks and Recreation is a superior show when compared to Modern Family. This show won almost every year for years and it got really annoying especially when the quality of the show started slipping and they kept winning. After a few years, they finally stopped winning all the time. But before all that, I was a fan of Cam and Mitch. They were a great couple who I loved watching on the show. They were the best part of the show most of the time. But sadly, my annoyance of the show no longer being as funny as it used to be, was enough for me to stop watching.

This was probably my first TV obsession as a kid. I adored Ryan and naturally shipped him with Marissa. They had so much chemistry.

The next big show I fell in love with was Lost and I was drawn to Charlie immediately. He was so cute with Claire. Their relationship was adorable.

3. Current Favourite Ship - Jake x Amy (Brooklyn Nine Nine)

All my old favourites are my "current" faves I guess so I will assume this to mean from a current TV show I am watching. Brooklyn Nine Nine still counts as current right?? I'm so sad the show is done but Jake and Amy had the perfect ending, I love how the show strengthened and matured their relationship and characters through its run.

4. Your ship since the first minute - Emma x Killian (Once Upon a Time)

When I think about their first scenes together, they were definitely setting up an epic romance. They had so much chemistry.

5. Ship(s) you wish had been endgame - Jess x Rory (Gilmore Girls)

This is hard as obviously I wished they had all been endgame. The ones that weren't were mostly because one half of the ship was killed off. So I will go for one where that wasn't the case! The revival was so disappointing and would have been a perfect time to reunite these two, now they're both grown and matured. They were the most interesting couple and would have been amazing together. I always pictured them getting together again in the future.

6. Ship you wish was canon - Clarke x Bellamy (The 100)

A lot of my ships are "AU" tbf. Bellarke was practically canon, they had amazing chemistry and so many awesome scenes together. The only thing missing was a kissing scene.

7. Ship that most of the fandom hates but you love - Skye x Lucas (Terra Nova)

Couldn't really think of anything for this tbh. Lucket wasn't a canon ship but there were a few of us fans who shipped it and I'm sure the rest of the fandom were weirded out by it 🙃

I honestly don't know anything about these two but they look HOT.

Almost all of them!!! I went with Chief Tyrol x Boomer because they barely had any screen time together and both their endings and storylines were appallingly bad.

N - Your favorite fanfiction or fanauthor.

For fanfiction it usually varies through the years, but right now (and it’ll stay that way until I find something even more perfect) I have to say it’s Zoom-mates by @zuppizup. I cannot recommend it enough that you should drop everything and read this amazing piece of literature.

O - Choose a song at random, which OTP does it remind you of.

I pressed shuffle on my playlist and got Better together by Jack Johnson. I feel like all my OTPs kinda fall into this genre, but the most prominent that come to mind are Rayllum and Peraltiago (brooklyn 99). The song, predictably, talks about experiences and situations that are better lived with someone. Plus, I kinda also see it as both people making the other better and bringing out the best in their partner, through effort or just by being themselves.

Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go.

Snape is one of my least favorite characters in the whole Harry Potter saga (down there with Umbridge) for two reasons.

1. Everyone treats him like the tragic hero who dropped everything for the love of his life and dedicated his life to protecting Harry at all costs without realizing that he literally clears throat JOINED A BLOOD SUPREMACIST GROUP. Not only that, but after he switched sides (and he only did that after Dumbledore literally shamed him into it. He was willing to let James and Harry die if it meant Lily lived) he was a total douchebag not onto to Harry but the entire school. “Oh but he had to keep the façade so Voldy would think he’s still a Death Eater” first of all, he thought Voldy was dead until book 4, and even then, you’d think a “loyal” double agent wouldn’t antagonize literally every single person in the place he’s infiltrating, right? If Snape had really been Voldy’s double agent (and not Dumbledore’s) everyone would have been suspicious of the clearly evil teacher who makes everyone’s life miserable.

2. Another reason I hate him is that it normalized the trope of redemption for those who have not earned it and definitely do not deserve it. Harry naming one of his kids after him (which I gotta say, naming kids after dead people is already weird) just reinforces the idea that as long as you convince yourself your actions are pure and you do one good deed, you are totally absolved from your misgivings, both as a kid and as an adult. It says “Snape was a grade-A bully to literal children for years (even before Harry came to Hogwarts) but he was real sowwy about Lily dying because of him that he’s one of the good guys now”

Also, afterthought, “Always” is a toxic quote to attach to the idea of undying love and should 1000% be replaced by James’ “Until the very end” in Deathly Hallows. I said what I said.

Character ask: The Big Bad Wolf

Even though they’re technically different wolves, these answers apply to the wolves from Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs and the Grimms’ lesser-known The Wolf and the Seven Young Kids. They’re all the same archetype and more-or-less interchangeable.

Favorite thing about them: I have to respect his cunning and skill with disguises. In The Wolf and the Seven Young Kids he even goes so far as to eat chalk to change the sound of his voice and be able to better imitate the voice of the seven kids’ mother.

I also like the fact that he’s so open to different interpretations. Today I’ve been watching and listening to a wide array of different celebrities’ portrayals of him in different Red Riding Hood and Three Little Pigs adaptations (Jeff Goldblum, Malcolm McDowell, B.D. Wong, Sinbad, Meg Ryan, Holly Hunter), and they all give wildly different performances, yet they’re all excellent and clearly having a great time with the role.

Least favorite thing about them: The little issue of trying to eat people and other sentient animals. Of course it’s not entirely his fault, he’s just being a carnivore, but the fact that he can actually converse with a person or animal and still eat them remorselessly makes him a villain.

And of course there’s the anti-Semitic “Jewish peddler” disguise that Disney’s Big Bad Wolf dons in the original 1933 version of the Three Little Pigs Silly Symphony. Ugh.

Although I could also buy @superkingofpriderock​‘s headcanon of the Red Riding Hood and Three Little Pigs wolves being a couple, maybe with the Seven Young Kids wolf as their son.

Unpopular opinion: I agree with @superkingofpriderock​​ that there’s no need to make him a werewolf in modern retellings. Ordinary wolves are dangerous enough.

For @thefanficfaerie​‘s OTP Challenge (2020) Words: 1032  Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader     Prompt: Spooktacular Halloween: Day 1 - Decorate Summary: It's the start of the Halloween season and Reader is ready to get thing started. Once they decide on the theme for the year, Reader takes Steve shopping for decorations.

“Wait a minute, this store wasn’t here last month.” Steve observed as the two of you got out of your car. You were taking Steve on his first trip to a Spirit Halloween store. “Well the building was because we ordered from that Chipotle. Did they build a whole store in a few days?”

“Probably. They’re called pop-up stores.” You explained. “They rent out vacant spaces in malls and shopping centers. They set up a minimal number of fixtures and are around for a month or two before they get taken down again.”

“Interesting. What are we buying here again?” He asked as you stepped inside.

“Oh, you know a few things.” You shrugged.

“We already have Halloween decorations at home. Remember last year you set up that tent on the law and put together that giant carnival thing? It’s all still in the attic.” He was certain.

“Yeah, but that was last year.” You told him. “This year I narrowed it down to either Hocus Pocus. You know, really traditional Salem Witch trial kind of thing or Pirates. I want to look at their plastic skeletons. I saw online that they have the cutest little octopus skeleton!”

“Doll, octopuses don’t have skeletons.” Steve pointed out.

“I know but they’re still cute. C’mon the skeleton aisle is over here.” You tugged Steve over to the area of the store where over twenty-five different plastic skeletons were on display. “Look here’s a shark skull and a little fish and the little octopus! It’s decided. We’re doing pirates.”

“Pirates.” He repeated. He held out his arms so you could start filling them with plastic nautical themed skulls and skeletons. “Like Pirates of the Caribbean?”

“Yes, but more like Pirates of the Caribbean before the movies. Think Dead Men Tell No Tales instead of Why is the rum gone.” You explained. “Okay, so we’re going to need a flag and some wooden barrels ooh and a Mermaid skeleton!” 

Two hours later you and Steve could barely carry everything to your car. Aside from skeletons of various sea creatures your purchase had also included a few plastic drinking goblets, some pirate hats, plastic swords and fishing nets. There was a motion activated parrot that would squawk themed various phrases at passersby. Steve hadn’t even known there was so much pirate merchandise to be found.

“It’s okay, you can say it.” You said as you put the last bag in the car. “You think I overdid it.”

“Well, you definitely didn’t under do it.” He laughed. “What exactly was your budget for this shopping trip?”

“You don’t want to know.” You told him.

“Well, I’m sure we’ll have the best decorated house on the block.” Steve promised. “I can’t wait to go home and set it up so we can start showing it off.”

“We have to stop at the hardware store on the way.” You reminded him, climbing behind the steering wheel. “They’ve got some pirate animatronics that I want for the lawn.”

“Doll, I don’t think any more decorations are going to fit in the car.” Steve worried as he got into the passenger’s seat.

“Well the roof rack is still empty.” You said, maneuvering the car out of its parking space. “And we also need to pick up some extension cords and power strips.”  

“Wow you weren’t kidding; she’s going all out.” You looked up from the tangle of lights you were battling to see Steve’s best friend, Bucky Barnes, walking across the lawn from his car. You looked over at your boyfriend for an explanation.

“I thought we could use some reinforcement.” Steve shrugged.

“Okay fine, Bucky you can start by detangling these lights.” You handed the bundle of orange and purple bulbs over to him.

“I’ll set up the pirate ship.” You decided.

“Did she just say…” Bucky looked at Steve.

“Oh yeah,” He nodded. “It’s got a skeleton captain and an animated wheel. It’s not a whole ship though, just the bow. Cost us Three Hundred and fifty dollars.”

“You paid three hundred and fifty bucks for a quarter of a ship?” Bucky shook his head. “I thought you were a better negotiator than that.”

“Whatever my gal wants she gets.” Steve chuckled. “Besides, at least I’m not stuck on light detangling detail.”

“You are if you want your lawn decorated before midnight tonight.” Bucky disagreed. He reached into a box by his feet and handed Steve another bundle of lights.

“Just think, tomorrow she’d going to want to do the inside of the house. I’m exhausted already from thinking about it.” Steve confessed.

“Do I even want to know what the electric bill is going to be this month?” Steve teased as he flopped down onto your bed that night.

“Probably not.” You shrugged. “But we have a reputation to uphold.” You told him as you kicked off your shoes. “What would people say if Captain America’s house wasn’t decorated for Halloween? You reached over and gave his hand a squeeze before opening a drawer and grabbing some pajamas.

“But seriously, I really appreciate your help today.” You said as you changed. “I couldn’t have done it without you or Bucky for that matter. And to think you made it through the whole ordeal without a single ‘back in my day’ speech.”

“I like Halloween.” He said, kicking off his own shoes and getting off the bed to remove his pants and shirt. “It’s the one day a year where a kid can literally be anything they want. You can’t imagine what that meant to a certain skinny kid from Brooklyn at the time.”

“Oh, I bet I can.” You smiled as you climbed into your side of the bed. “You still wear a costume to work.” You reminded him.

“It’s not a costume.” He countered also getting into bed. “It’s government issued tactical gear.”

“Red, white and blue tactical gear, huh?” You raised an eyebrow at him.

“Okay,” He laughed snuggling close to you. Steve wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you close. “It’s a little bit of a costume, but I know for a fact you like a man in uniform.” He whispered in your ear.

- So many shows have this endgame otp slowburn that takes 25% of the plot for a long time and when they get together, there’s nothing to fill that gap. Thus, they cause drama in that relationship when there really shouldn’t be any. Bullshit.

- After going through so much together, they are definitely in love

Oh, spn? Nah, tonight is the episode before the last. (one hour to go, I’m not ready) But Jensen has said it feels like the season final while the last feels like the series final. NOT.PREPARED.AT.ALL. 

11: What’s a stucky fic idea you’ve thought about writing, but haven’t yet?

OMG I’m so glad you asked this one! So I have three longfic ideas, two of which are 100% happening. (first time meeting bakery!au and an established relationship kid!fic) But the one I’ve thought about for quite some time, is a National Treasure (the nicolas cage movie) AU. I just cannot get the thought of Steve stealing the declaration of independence out of my head, and saying it. Bucky would take the ‘role’ of Abigale (the love interest in the movie) and they’d go on an adventure similar to the movie, while also slowly falling in love. The antagonist would work out perfectly too, that being Piece and Rumlow. 

But what’s stopping me is those other two fics and the fact that I’d need to do a lot of research throughout the movie lol. I’ve loved the movie for so long (since 4th grade) but I’d want to incorporate original scenes between inspired scene from the movie. Ahhh one day! 

20: How did you discover stucky?

I don’t know how many of you know, but I used to be a filthy casual (gaming/warcraft reference) when it came to Marvel. Like two months before this whole pandemic went down, I finally decided to start a rewatch since Disney+ was released. It seemed intimidating before, having to watch across multiple streaming services but if you put most of them on one platform, it doesn’t seem as bad. So I did that (I already saw Ironman 1 & 3, OG Avengers, AOU and Cap 3 in the past, CASUALLY. I saw them either in the theater or through family gatherings then went on with my life. That’s how little I knew about Marvel and since then, I had no motivation to catch up. I ignored, and somehow avoided all the endgame spoilers but I instead, spoiled myself by time I got to it. 

So at first I watched all 3 Ironman movies, got myself into some irondad fanfics then moved onto the Cap trilogy. (Though I watched by release order- Also TIH and Thor 2 are both boring as hell, I’d rather sit through endgame, I ain’t kidding you, Least I’d have something to rant/think about lol.) TFA I didn’t start shipping it. When Bucky fell off the train, my Supernatural brain though ‘ahh, he’ll be back!’ (even tho I knew he’s in cap 3, I know, out of order in the past pfft) Also, ghifmaking has made me warm up to that movie, by a lot. 

Cap 2? First off, that movie is near flawless. I think I could watch that and Ironman 3 for the rest of my life. Just gimme National Treasure, Cars 1, and Scooby Doo on Zombie island and I’m good. 

THE GODDAMN FLASHBACK SCENE IS WHAT GOT ME. Not the iconic ‘TTEOTL’ scene, no, no, no, no. Just the scene of Steve starting into the woods with his hands in his pockets, thinking back to Bucky in 1930′s brooklyn. *insert ‘that shit is breahtaking, bro’ gif here* 

So yeah, between TFA and CW (I do still love CW contrary to fandom opinion, but I do agree it feels more like an Avengers movie than anything) my heart was like: that’s you new OTP. 

I watched the rest of the MCU and did a head dive into fanfiction. And now here I am with this blog, making gifs, writing fanfic, and enjoying the fandom with the rest of you wonderful people :D Literally haven’t had this much fun in a fandom since I joined the spnfamily, and that’s saying a lot. So I think I’m shipping these two dorks for...life. Yup. ‘Don’t forget, you’re here forever.’ 

50: What do you love the most about stucky?

AAAAAAHHHHH, so many things!!! 1) The fandom, above all else I think. To hell with canon, we’ll make our own ship by hand. 2) Just how romantic they are, seriously. 3) How their love is stretched across a century and they both come back to life at the exact same time.
