Omega... The Pilot, a study
Tumblr media
I keep thinking about this moment from the S3 trailer...and how much Tech (but also Hunter and Wrecker) have prepared Omega for this moment, (whatever it entails).
She has had a long journey of pilot training going back to Season 1 and I am SO excited to see it potentially pay off big in Season 3.
Recapping Omega's journey becoming a pilot so far....
Tumblr media
In S1E9 Bounty Lost, Omega does some Piloting trying to escape Cad Bane and Fennec Shand. She was obviously familiar with these flight pods since they were Kaminoan. And I am going to assume that the malfunctioning of the flight pod was because of the abandoned pod itself, and not Omega's doing.
Tumblr media
Then shortly after that in S1E10 Devil's Deal, while Omega is giving Hera a tour of the Marauder, she tells Hera that Tech won't let her train at flying the ship until she can recite ALL of the ship's specifications from memory.
Omega and Hera then have a nice exchange where Hera tells Omega that flying is only half about spec's but also about "a feeling". I love this so much because while of course she will get the finest education from Professor Tech and the other boys, having this additional not-by-the-book insight on what might make a good pilot is so great for Omega. (maybe we will see this come to fruition in season 3.....?!?!)
Tumblr media
Next in S1E13 War Mantle, Omega is tasked with Piloting the Marauder and stabilizing it close to the mountainside in order to rescue Tech Hunter Echo and Gregor. She only keeps the ship steady for a few moments before Tech comes in to take over, but she got some good practice in!
Presumably she is willing and able to do this because at this point she has been getting some beginner level of flying lessons with Tech. Which means she Also memorized ALL of the ships spec's. (if at this point she Hadn't been receiving flying lessons with Tech yet, then it was probably the emergency rescue of it all and Wrecker would of course be the most encouraging that she take the wheel)
Tumblr media
In the Season 2 opening episode Spoils of War, Tech and Omega with a very obvious Teacher/Student dynamic, suggesting they have been doing this for a significant amount of time and at Least since back in S1E10. Now Omega is studying and memorizing ALL of the ships in the Imperial FLEET. Which idk sounds like a Lot. (But also... I BET this will come in handy in Season 3 maybe?!?!)
Tumblr media
Later in the same episode, it appears that Omega Also gets regularly scheduled Quiz time with Hunter. (which is ADORABLE)
(and yes I translated the data pad bc hyperfixation is a helluva drug)
Tumblr media
Then All of that studying pays off immediately in the same episode when Tech Echo and Omega escape a cargo ship via a cargo container. Which was Omega's suggestion since she knew about the container's reentry thrusters from her studies.
And Tech is even Impressed!
There is a long stretch in Season 2 before there is any more Omega doing Pilot things. But Wow is it worth the Wait!
Tumblr media
In S2E14 Tipping Point, FINALLY a Flying Lessons scene with Tech and Omega 🥹 and it's not even the first lesson! Based on their conversation it is apparent they have had Several lessons.
This is a HUGE payoff all the way back to S1E10 when Tech wanted Omega to memorize the Ships specs before training to fly.
From what we see in this Flying Lesson, Omega definitely knows her way around the ships maneuverability and limits, but she still needs practice with Landing. Tech gives her some constructive feedback and they seem to have a good rhythm with training.
Aaaand Now for some crack pot Season 3 Trailer speculation/theorizing...
Tumblr media
I think this is definitely Omega at this crash site....especially considering the other shot we get of her in a Pilot seat.
I also think all of the subsequent shots in the trailer of that same shuttle type is also Omega piloting the ship while escaping from Tantis. If this is correct, it's clear that the shuttle is hit mid-escape and that is probably what causes it to eventually have to be crash landed.
And then those last two shots on the bottom right...it's a long shot but I think the shuttle shooting at the Troopers could be Omega (but maybe not) and the Doggo attacking the trooper was for SURE at the crash site with Omega and is probably protecting her here, or just going wild at the trooper. either way I support this doggo friend.

"The biggest gacha game glutton doesn't exi-"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am still very new when it comes to granblue fantasy, and as of right now I do not know all that much about the series, and I still won't know that much given that its a pretty old game that I can't access, and haven't head of any recent updates as far as I know. So because of that among other things, I hadn't really known about Cassius or his event story. (Correction: the game is still active and getting updates, just not as much on Cassius)
It wasn't until I was scrolling through some tumblr blogs (which @askbloatedbellyblog thanks for sharing the post that sent me down a spiral) and once I discovered about Cassius and his event story I was hooked! Not only is it one of the only visual novel/gacha games that I have seen so far that actually has visuals of the actual weight gain itself, but its also not done as a one time gag either and we get prolonged scenes of Cassius' overweight state. The story itself is also so good in my opinion! Although the actual content itself my not cater to everyone and their desires, for me, I think the story is one of the best!! It fulfills all of my stuffing fantasies and desires, watching him endlessly devour and gorge on everything that is around him, and finding enjoyment in doing such as well!
No joke, I was so invested in this character and his event story that for a good portion of time that was all I could think about! I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a bit of a mini hyperfixation for me.
Tumblr media
To know more about my research on Cassius himself and his gluttonous pursuits, he is fairly new to the setting as he came from another world, and is leaning to discover both this new world, and how everything works. Along with such he applies ration and logic to everything with very little emotions, isn't surprised by much, thinks very literal mindedly, and comes across as childish and naïve.
His other most notable feature is his HUMONGOUS apatite, and how he is able to eat much more than the average person. He has a very high metabolism so he is able to eat in mass quantities without risking his heath or gaining weight. However, during the Ramen Travels event, he manages to eat so much and in such crazy amounts that not even his metabolism could keep up with him, leading to his eventual weight gain.
Although his original purpose was to try out various ramen noodles, his pursuits evolve into eating everything that he can as much as he can. To give a bit of a perspective how much he actually eats during this event, he hits up multiple desert stalls, wins a food eating contest, tries various kinds of ramen, eats entire menus in restaurants including the main courses, drinks, and deserts, eats whole dishes made to serve a family of six in one sitting, and repeats that behavior consistently every day for weeks on end.
Another part of his endless gluttony is also how Cassius also took the term "There is always room for desert" too literally and came to the belief that no matter how much he eats, there will never be enough food for him to eat, and that there will always be room in his stomach to eat and try more foods.
When it came to his eventual weight gain, although the people around him are concerned about his overall heath encouraging him to lose the weight, Cassius himself doesn't mind the weight gain at all and if anything he actually enjoys it, believing that the feeling itself is satisfying, and that the more weight he puts on the more room he will have for food.
This is a man where if he is not calculating and questioning the things around him, the only other thing that is on his mind is food, and although it may make him seem one note, I find this aspect of him to be a really charming trait of him, especially these are traits that he fully embraces, and not even afraid of gaining weight, which is an unusual trait in other foodie characters.
It honestly saddens me to discover that Cassius barely gets any recognition in general, especially compared to the other characters that I enjoy, and now because he hasn't had that much new content in a long while, he has only barely had any new posts and content made on him in years, so I thought if there was anyone who could bring this wonderful character back in the spotlight, even for just a brief moment, I might as well do so.
Last thing, but if your ever wanting to read the full story for yourself, here is the link to the video down below. Know that the video is incredibly long, but is absolutely worth the watch!

Currently hyperfixated on the girlies Gambit and Rogue so have a page of digital drawings I made of them recently
Also to be extra annoying since everyone online is being mad about x men being 'woke' here are my headcanons about these lovely two individuals
First of all they are literally just this meme and yes I will be drawing it with them some day
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Gambit and Rogue are t4t I make the laws here
Gambit is also the definition of bisexuality (look at what he's wearing people come on) and Rogue just gives me the vibes she doesn't have a label for her sexuality, she just vibes and is definitively not straight
They both are also autistic cause again, I make the rules
Rogues stims by humming, rocking, and mouth clicks while Gambits main stims are hand stims like flapping or hitting his wrists along with rocking and hopping
I like to think Gambit wears big chunky sound proof headphones anytime he can cause 1 autism and 2 his power is to make things explode so he's gotta have something to protect his hearing from the explosions, on missions he has special made tiny ones that aren't so big and bulky
He is getting slight hearing loss though from before he started wearing protection
I like to think Rogue also has bad eyesight cause same bro and she wears contacts, she refuses to wear glasses but Remy thinks she looks cute with them
She does have a pair of red glasses for when she can't wear contacts
They both love physical affection but only with eachother, Rogue has been touch starved due to her powers and Remy tends to be touch averse due to trust issues but clings to those he trusts I think so both of them only engage in affection with people they're really close with, so they're constantly cuddling and just holding eachothers hand whenever their next to eachother
Neither of them really give a shit about gender roles so they both are always stealing eachothers clothes
Rogue: Remy, have you seen my green tube dress?
Gambit: *walks out wearing said dress* .......it makes me feel pretty :)
Rogue: .......well now I'm pissed that you look better in it than I do
Gambit: :/
Both also have I guess you'd call them 'girls nights' where they watch shitty movies put on face masks and talk shit about the other x men, like spill the tea babe what's the latest drama, sometimes nightcrawler joins them but he usually just sits there awkwardly like 'what's going on, am I third wheeling?'
Rogue and Nightcrawler are the bestest of siblings btw, they love eachother so much and whenever they annoy the other there's a running gag of one of them shouting 'I'm telling mom!' and the other shouting back 'which one cause good luck they both ain't gonna do shit!'
Siblings man
I like to imagine Nightcrawler and Gambit don't really know what to make of eachother at first, they both try to joke with the other and get along but it always ends up awkward on one end cause their trying a little too hard and don't know what to do lol
Rogue laughs at them when they complain about it to her
Eventually, after a way too long era of awkwardness, they become decent bros
Rogue and Gambit are that couple who threaten to kill eachother on the daily and say the worst shit to eachother but the second you insult one of them the other will be at your throat with a knife and a promise it'll end up in you somehow
They also both make fun of eachothers accents constantly
I really don't care if none of this is comic book accurate I'm making my own interpretation of the characters and having fun

Ive finally made a sandrock OC (KIND OF) I havent just stolen the design of and put somewhere else. and I really want to talk about her. So here she is.
Tumblr media
I wanted to give some lore to this character Qi mentions 3 times
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND now shes in my brain, so Ill say some things about her:
She wanted to be a biologist but ended up going into the same type of research job Qi's in because it paid more
Qi and Bugs went to college together and ended up working pretty closely on a few projects, maybe even had internships/jobs at the same place for a while before Qi moved to Sandrock.
She got the nickname Bugs because she would always pick up random bugs in elementry school and the name just kind of stuck. She prefers it to her actual name (which I have not thought of yet because names are hard)
Qi says that they are rivals, but I dont think thats actually true given how much they talk. I think its a lot more like a one sided rivalry where Qi has decided shes his rival and she just kinda plays along because its fun, but theyre actually just friends (not that Qi would admit that, but Bugs refers to and thinks of him as a friend)
Although she still works in Vega 5, she doesnt particularly love it there. To her, she just has nowhere else to go and the pay and lifestyle of Vega 5 is too much to resist, especially for someone wihtout that many goals.
Qi managed to get her into Gungham and so they have amazing conversations that only come from ADHD-Autism friendships where both people have the same hyperfixation. (I speak from experience when I say its the best thing)
She visits sandrock sometimes because she doesnt know where else to go when she has stacked up vacation days.
She gets very annoyed whenever people dont know what they're talking about, hence her friendship with Qi not really being an issue, because both of them are like this and they both thrive off of each others intellectual energy.
ALSO. Some things about her personal relationships to people in Sandrock:
Her and Grace are dating, mostly because I want Grace to have a girlfriend so bad (I am so starved for sapphic relationships you dont understand). They have been rotating in my brain SO MUCH, so I'll talk about them. This is largely because it would be SO FUNNY.
Their relationship started because Bugs would regularly visit Sandrock, so she would see Grace a lot. Since the Blue Moon Saloon isnt really that busy, they would talk to eachother quite a bit. After a few trips of both of them talking, Bugs decides it would be funny to mess with Qi whenever her and Qi eat dinner later that night, and she thinks the funniest way to do that is by Grace hitting on her at this dinner. Make it real awkward for Qi. I plan on making a comic for this actually SO we will see if it actually gets done. If it does it will be so funny you dont even know (it definetly will not be thats the brainrot talking.)
After that, they meet up outside the Blue Moon Saloon to toast to their success of making Qi extremely confused, they walk around sandrock and sit at the oasis a while. Nothing happens that night, but they both come away from it as deeper friends and a little crush. Not in like, a way that is that noticable, or a way either of them intend on pursuing, but a way that definelty exists. Neither of them are stupid, and both of them tend to do a good amount of introspection, so they both pick up on this and it changes the dynamic a little, but in a good way.
As time goes on, Bugs makes more and more visits to Sandrock, to see Qi of course, but the reason increasingly becomes to see Grace as well. They both flirt with eachother a bit here and there, until Grace asks her out on a date and it ends up becoming a thing. Still thinking of details there BUT! They will be thought of, dont worry.
NOW, For what this relationship means for them both and their similarities and a couple differences:
For both of them, this is the first romantic relationship they have had that really feels like the other person can keep up with them. Both of them are super smart, and they both sort of have unfollowed dreams.
They are also both workaholics discontent with the circumstances they're in, and I feel like they bond a lot over that.
BOTH OF THEM ARE VERY SILLY. Grace, especially if youre dating her, uses a lot of very silly language. Like whenever youre dating, her greeting is "Hey good lookin, what ya got cookin?" She has many many silly lines and I would reccomend reading her dialogue page if you havent already read it all the way through like 3 times. Bottom line is, shes goofy. And Bugs is also goofy. Not in exactly the same way, but like she calls Qi a chatty cathy, thats goofy. AND SOMETHING GRACE WOULD DO IF HER AND QI WERE FRIENDS IN THAT WAY. They would be a very annoying couple and I find that extremely funny especially in the context of them spending a good amount of time with Qi, who probably doesnt pick up on it half the time.
Both of them are the type to distract from their inner turmoil with humor. If you have gone on a playdate with grace or read her entire dialogue page, you would know she does this a non-zero amount of times, quite commonly in fact. Bugs does the same type of thing, but she does tend to talk a lot less than Grace.
Bugs is an introvert unlike Grace, but she can read people surprisingly well. Not anywhere near as well as Grace, of course, but still pretty well.
Both have jobs that end up with them being relatively isolated from personal connections. For Bugs, shes working in a team with a lot of people she doesnt really like, for Grace, she has to keep quiet about her job for the most part. This leads to them having an interesting dynamic in which both of them dont really know how to navigate personal, unguarded relationships super well. Bugs hasnt had any close friends in a long time, and Grace cant turn off her agent brain, oftentimes getting a lot more from Bugs than Bugs would want her to. I have a real thing for relationships where one person is quite guarded and the other person can read them super well, and Bugs and Grace fit this dynamic very well in both directions. Bugs tends to read Grace more than she expects too, not by a crazy amount or anything, but she does catch Grace offguard occasionally, just because Grace tends to drop it more often without realizing it around Bugs.
They have the same sort of (aspiring) archeolegist and researcher dynamic Grace and Qi have (That I touched on here) but romantic so. I think thats fun personally, because its a cool sort of combining of forces. It also hits a bit different from Grace's and Qi's simply because Bugs is a lot more like Grace personality wise.
A couple other relationships in sandrock:
Her and Zeke get along. She visits Zeke sometimes, because of her interest in biology. And I just think they would get along. Not just because she likes plants but I also think she would appricate how Zeke is very knowlegable on what he does as well as desert farming in general.
She doesnt like the church very much (for the innate ideological differences that come with being a researcher), but she still has a laugh with Dan-Bi occasionally.
I like the idea of her getting along with Fang a bit. I think she has at least looked at some of what she uses to make medicine and is like "oh wow thats genius!"
I think she would have a very fun time messing with Yan (because Yan is literally so funny idc what anyone else says I love him so much) I dont think she would like him, but I think she would have fun talking to him every now and then just to prod him (which Yan ofc doesnt notice) for goofs.
I love the idea of her getting along with Unsuur. I cannot explain why. But I think they would be drinking buddies.
Some design notes and how she dresses when shes not in a lab coat:
I had to give her a long lab coat because thats a demographic severely underepresented in sandrock
Her shirt color is pretty similar to Qi's undershirt, it just felt like it fit. Its also half untucked like Qi's, but Bugs does it because she thinks it looks good while Qi does it because hes tired. I dont really know how to draw that sort of distinction, but just know that its there.
Her belt buckle is gold while Qis is silver
Her hairtie is dark blue, Qis tie is light blue. Theres not a whole lot to that I just thought it was neat personally.
Her fashion sense tends to be pretty casual, usually hoodies and shorts while shes in her apartment and pretty normal streetwear outside of it. I dont think that she wears as many belts as the average Sandrock or Portia citizen. Since we havent been to Vega 5, I cant say for sure what the normal fashion sense is like, but based off of Qi and Petra, who are more like the average Vega 5er, and what is known about the culture, I assume regular dress tends to be more busniess casual-formal. I dont count Merlin, who was so eccentric she got kicked out of Vega 5, Or Mint, who seems overly casual, in this assesment. However, Bugs dresses in whatever is slightly more casual than the normal Vega 5 streetwear. Not as casual as Mint, but definetly not formal. She's kind of done with Vega 5's general busniess culture, not done enough to leave, but done enough that she doesnt really care what she wears off the clock if that makes sense.
That is all for my unhinged ramblings. I have a lot of ideas about her and maybe I will actually do something with those, so I thought I should introduce her.

My Current Thoughts on SAMS
Because I can’t help but look too deep into things often unnecessarily, and I’m a rambler of nature, here’s some of my thoughts on The Sun & Moon Show so far, just to get stuff off my chest
SPOILERS, assumptions and ideas ahead!
Warning, WALL OF TEXT and running on tangents. Did try to organize my thoughts somewhat..
So, we all upset about Lunar, yes? Well, besides those celebrating, you know who you are, I don’t care.
The Death Of Lunar So, Eclipse used Lunar as hostage on Monty, we saw that coming once Eclipse made the connection himself realizing that yeah, Monty doesn’t give a flying crap about anyone, not even himself. EXCEPT for Lunar, home he travelled through Hell for, gave them their own body, offered a place to stay when scared, offered support and genuine advice through the time knowing each other. Monty has a backup plan for everyone, even to kill Moon if needed, but would clear do ANYTHING for Lunar at this point.
To be honest, I liked that plot point. Lunar in danger to really show how far characters will go, Eclipse and Monty both, with highest stakes possible.
Then they took it a step further and had Eclipse right out kill Lunar. And yeah, Eclipse made it clear times before how much resentment he holds for Lunar, which goes beyond just the betrayal but I’ll get more into that in a minute.
What hit hardest here is the exact way the show writers and actors decided to take this.
One of the most popular characters on the show, even with controversy around their existence a bit ago, taken out of the equation is one thing. They killed off characters before, (Eclipse, Blood Moon) and we seen them return. Another thing is... Lunar was taken out crying and begging for his life.
Even though he insisted on his stance that Eclipse shouldn’t get the Newton Star, no matter the sacrifices necessary to keep him from it.. Lunar also made it clear, they don’t wanna die. They are still a young AI which lots to learn, making a new life to revolving around Eclipse. Lunar wanted to keep growing, family bonding, making friends.. That was all taken away by Eclipse lying and breaking his promise to Monty.
Lunar, still more or less a child compared to the other animatronics, was taken out crying and begging. Afraid, scared for their very existence, facing their very worst nightmare and then... gone. Just like that.
For those adoring Lunar, the fans relating to him, those who just hyperfixated on Lunar as their blorbo.. that’s ONE HECK of a way to kill of a robot child.
Am I saying this is bad? Not really. Just... VERY impactful. As effective as that is for story writing... it feels awfully misplaced. This show is.. a silly video game channel.
Twists and Turns Of Story Telling I never minded the growing drama, I frigging loved it the more dramatic it got, calling it my “daily soaps”, my soap opera I cannot miss a single episode of! But I also get it when people started complaining about it becoming a bit TOO angsty and twisted, a bit too traumatic for the characters. What’s supposed to be silly jokes on a  silly comedy channel about playing video games, can no longer be viewed as such, the more serious their story arcs became.
Moon is abusive and too socially incompetent to help anyone, Sun being the butt of jokes leaving him a sad husk in serious need of therapy, everyone’s a hypocrite, constantly dancing the lines between Murder Is Okay, Murder Is A Joke and If You Kill People You Can Never Be Forgiven.
Earth was added just to have someone not being an arsehole, only an airhead, with enough social competence to actually offer genuine advice WITHOUT the baggage of committing the acts of putting Sun down one way or another, as everyone else has in the past. If she wasn’t introduced as their sister, I legit would have thought she was going to be ship bait with Sun just cuz  she’s the only one being genuine kind to him WITHOUT being a hypocrite or immediately using him for jokes again right after apologizing.
The twist and turns of telling their story more and more dramatic and serious, the more it clash to the way they write their comedy and improve their jokes in the Let’s Plays or crossovers with the other channels.
I’m not saying either one is bad, just that it doesn’t necessarily mix very well in the long run. Of course this divides the audience, who are either there for the drama, the characters and/or the light hearted Let’s Plays. Sure, yes, such CAN exist together, but not everyone can find the balance in that, both in creators and audience.
The Death of Lunar II  Now I better get back to my original point.
Lunar as a character and his death. Granted I have no doubt he’s going to be back, if the Twins can defy their own death, even if just hallucinations (although claiming to be regenerating their nano machines), so can one of the most popular characters too.
But why did he have to die? Story wise, really just for dramatic effect I’m sure. Maybe writers going “Oh, you all mad about ‘too many characters’ on this show?? Let’s see how you feel about us KILLING THEM OFF!” just to make a statement, maybe not.
In-story though? In-character? Yeah.. Eclipse WOULD do that. Just like that.
He said to Lunar how he loathed them even from the very beginning, he wanted them gone the first chance no longer needing them. They were just to replace Blood Moon, who went out of control and became a threat.
Lunar was created to be obedient, easily dominated by Eclipse yet fearless enough to be a menace to others. To be Moon’s opposite, loving to play with kids, being happy and silly, curious about life rather than bitter.
Eclipse hated Lunar for more than the betrayal later down the line, he hated them before that.
Eclipse’s Choice In the past he claimed Lunar was created by recycling parts of himself he wanted rid of. Code infected by being in Sun’s body, Sun having a larger emotional range than Eclipse, his moments of happiness and his positivity.
Eclipse CHOSE to be the way he was. He came into existence from the kill code Moon left behind in Sun’s body, an unintentional backup copy of Moon getting corrupted, growing, taking its time to evolve into a proper AI while stewing. Stewing on abandonment issues.
Some of my most faved lines from Eclipse in the past:
Eclipse: “Oh, so I’m a child now?” Moon: “Yeah, because you act like one! For one, you got abandonment issues.” Eclipse: “I guess I do. But now, I all I have is anger.”
Eclipse: “Why did you leave me behind!!?”
Eclipse chose to stay bitter, focused on his anger, even when claiming to put petty revenge behind him, he stayed focused on being bitter and mean.
He removed anything happy from himself, to use it as base code for Lunar.
He hated Lunar’s existence not because he needed someone so beneath him to complete his plans.. but because Lunar represents what he saw as weakness  within himself. He saw Sun and Moon as weak and unworthy because of their love, love for each other as much as their love for things they enjoyed to do. Moon wanting to “do better” than his original coding with the homicide code.
Eclipse did reject being Kill Code himself, corrupted too much by the influence of Sun and Moon, becoming his own thing. He wanted to be above all, even his  supposed intended purpose.
Lunar carried what he saw as his flaws. Seeing Lunar rebel and reject his teachings, joining Sun and Moon as brothers, making friends, finding things to love.. only a reminder of what Eclipse sought out to avoid himself from becoming.
He only allows himself anger and disgust.
In the past we do see him enjoy messing with Sun and Moon, mocking them, finding joy in making Sun act out, making people distrust him by rambling about the joy of violence when in control.
Once he and Lunar took over the channel, he seemed ever so disinterested in playing games with Lunar, even violent ones. He just wanted to work on getting the Star. Even now whenever we hear him laugh, it’s joyless. He didn’t celebrate killing Lunar, merely dusting off his hands, cleaning the board of his last mistake.
Lunar had to die due to the symbolism of what this means about Eclipse as a character.
The Death of Lunar III As much as Kill Code showed interest in changing for the better, Eclipse made it clear that’s not in the cards for him. Heck, if ever learning of KC’s change of heart would only make him more disgusted with him than he already is.
Lunar was the part of himself he wanted rid of. Seeing others around him change through simple joys and disgusting acts of kindness, he ain’t changing chances. He killed that part of himself to avoid the fate of ‘inviting in weakness’.
That part was Lunar.
Eclipse ain’t getting redemption, because he removed any such chance of change from himself long ago and then destroyed its embodiment.
Yeah we got “Good Eclipse” from a different dimension, but he went through a different story with different choices, showing actual interests in joy and kindness. I imagine meeting his opposite self only pushed Eclipse further to wanting, needing, to kill Lunar no matter the outcome with the star.
I like Eclipse as a villain for this very reason, even before he went this far. Unapologetically evil, he sees himself as the great outcome, the god of a new world. He want to make the world make sense the way HE sees it, without elements he sees as weakness. Ironically less of a hypocrite than everyone else, cuz he face up to what he is and make no excuses, while any time the others try to play the role as “good people” is often by downplaying or full on ignoring their own mistakes made.
The short of it But yeah, just.. some of my thoughts on this whole thing.
Am I reading too much into things? Most definitely I got NO CLUE what kind of thought process goes into the writing of these story arcs and how much happens purely from random improve that force changes to the ongoing story.
Is why I enjoy watching the show still, even as people start finding fault with it, as it jumps more and more sharks.
Is crazy mess and I enjoy it, even with its flaws.
tl;dr Lunar’s death was coming because to Eclipse he represents the part of himself he wants dead: Joy, kindness, urge to evolve as a person rather than a machine.
Right choice story wise with how fans react? Eh, no clue, but I just look too deep into things.
Thank you for reading this far

I am becoming dangerously obsessed with The Moomins.
In which I explore my deeply ingrained weakness for furry media, and why a weird kids series that comes from a queer, poly, anti fascist place speaks to me deeply.
Tumblr media
The moomins were always something I was aware of. I saw a couple of episodes of the 90s show when I was a kid, and we had one of the books in the house when I was a kid, but I never read it. Not sure why, but discussing it with my mum she said she never liked the moomins much.
A while ago my roomate introduced me to Comet in Moominland, the 90s movie that is a prequel to the TV series, and based on the first full length moomin book. It was a beautiful and harrowing movie about the moomins dealing with the knowledge that a comet is going to hit the earth, and having to deal with an apocalypse of biblical proportions.
Tumblr media
After that, my partner and I decided to watch the 90s anime that follows on from the movie. It's cute and charming, it's wholesome and positive. It is depicting the childhood you maybe wish you had, with good friends and positive role models. I also picked up some of the books, those are my own copies in the picture.
Now throughout my life, I have always been a sucker for furry media. Being a furry is essentially my favorite thing and defines a lot of my identity. Most of my favourite media is furry media, be it core fandom, or wider furry adjacent media. On the surface, Moomin is obviously furry media, it deals with creatures having adventures, but I believe the furry connection goes deeper.
I found this video from youtube channel Culturally F'd, that gives a queer, poly, anti fascist reading of the moomins.
youtube
The video basically alleges that the Moomin's creator, Tove Jasson, was queer and for much of her life was in what we would now call a poly relationship with a man and a woman at the same time. It also notes how the moomins first appeared in a left wing magazine, hence the anti fascist element. If you want an example of cottagecore media without a hint of fascism, the moomins is probably a good place to look. It's not apolitical of course. There is that one post that is doing the rounds like "I only want apolitical media, like studio ghibli and the moomins" which is very funny and has never left my head.
While the text may not be explicitly queer, you could call Moomintroll textually "In love" with Snufkin, as well as his girlfriend, it's not like they openly date, but I have verified the things that video says about the author with other sources and it seems to be true. It does seem like the moomins comes from a queer, poly worldview, and now I have realised that, I think that is when I crossed the line from interest to obsession. That is how my life works, I tend to become obsessed with a specific piece of furry media for a year or so, hyperfixate on it as much as I can, then I move on but can always engage with furry fan work for it.
I think a lot of the appeal of furry stuff is explored in this awesome video from Patricia Taxxon. It argues that a lot of the appeal of being a furry lies in "The symbolic, the sensory, and the autistic" and that a lot of furries also have other intersecting identities that may have made you feel simultaneously human and inhuman. I guess what I am trying to say here is that I feel the moomins are very deeply furry media in a way that a lot of mainstream "furry" media isn't. Don't get me wrong, I still love a lot of mainstream furry stuff, but I think the true appeal for me is using symbolism effectively. Using your funny little animal creatures to explore things about the world and your life.
The moomins come from a genuinely weird, non corporate place. I would maybe even say if the author were still around today, we would probably consider her a furry. It may be a pleasant, pastoral, almost childish setting, but it deals with all aspects of childhood, from scary or dangerous events you don't understand, to interpersonal conflict, to even stuff as simple as getting sick. It's speaking to me on a level that not many things have before, with its depiction of subtextual, yet healthy and real feeling poly relationships, and real classical feeling adventures and family dynamics. This isn't a word I use much but it's wholesome, yet deep. I know I am only scratching the surface of the moomins and I can't believe it has taken me this long to get into them. I know this is probably fairly incoherent and it is mainly just my initial thoughts on what I have been getting into for the past month or so. I will probably post about it more going forward but just wanted to say something.

Sit Down, Shut Up X Digimon AU
I'M BACK WITH ANOTHER DIGIMON AU!
Honestly, the 'I am going to create an crossover that is so doesn't make sense' image sums this up nicely regarding niche special interests and hyperfixations.
Either way, for those of you who aren't aware, Sit Down, Shut Up is a 2009 animated sitcom created by Mitchell Hurwitz, the creator of Arrested Development. While it is generally thought of being either a 'you love it or you hate it' show, it has a special place in my heart and despite its raunchy/lewd humor, I find it strangely comforting to watch.
And because I've been getting back into both Digimon and Sit Down, Shut Up as of late, it is only natural that my brain has the 'genius' idea of combining the two. It started with the innocuous question of 'What would the cast be if they were Digimon?' which is something I've asked for multiple other fandoms as well, such as Pepper Ann, Braceface, and Fillmore! to name a few.
I don't have much of a plot super specific to the show in a Digimon setting, but I do have an overall plot which I tend to use in most of my Digimon x (show) AUs involving the 'Digital World' being a near copy of the human/real world, with monsters having jobs, children, school, that sort of thing. All without knowing they're living in a simulation. The characters eventually find out they DO live in a simulation by another race foreign to them (humans), and find themselves having to go to the 'real world', where they find themselves facing a brand new threat, the Seven Great Demon Lords; seven powerful creatures, each representing some type of vice, who were created by the humans to purge the simulation and start over.
But some of them have their own interests in mind…
That's the usual scenario I use when 'brainstorming' (haha daydreaming) but with Sit Down, Shut Up I could go for less of the adult 'raunchy humor' everywhere, and instead incorporate more of an intense/edgy feel more geared towards adults with some added adult humor, rather than the moreso 'for kids' I would do for say, a Fillmore! or Pepper Ann Digimon AU.
Because it's eight champion-level (unless stated) adult Digimon who work in a digi-school and can barely tolerate one another, with some tolerated less than others. Then, everything they've known to be true is revealed to be a lie and they're forced to team up with those same people and kinda try to maybe understand them?
Now, I could see petty drama and 'canon-typical behavior/adult humor' at first being the norm, (kind of like how the sitcom only got thirteen episodes, which is usually when a Digimon season is still lighthearted. Unless you're Ghost Games that is. RIP Bokomon) but then getting Knight Of Cerberus'd and becoming significantly darker. Kind of like what Bojack pulled off, with the perfect mix of adult humor and a meaningful message.
You're probably wondering by now, what did my brain answer when asked that fateful question? Well, here's the Digimon I decided would fit and their lines! Rookie/Child forms are just here for reference, all are at Champion/Adult level unless otherwise stated.
Larry: Lopmon - Turuiemon - Antylamon (Deva) - Cherubmon (Virtue) (Can also become Vice if shit hits the fan)
Miracle: Terriermon - Gargomon - Rapidmon - MegaGargomon (May change Rapidmon and MegaGargomon if I find suitable mons)
Ennis: Elecmon (Violet) - Leomon - GrapLeomon - BanchoLeomon (Ennis is normally a GrapLeomon because I thought it would be fitting to have him at such a high level due to how 'great' he thinks he is and how he'd be himbo material if he wasn't so Ennis)
Stuart: Guilmon - Growlmon - WarGrowlmon - Gallantmon/Megidramon (I thought Guilmon's/Growlmon's naivety was a nice fit for Stuart, along with the fact that they can and will fuck you up, e.g. Megidramon as an alternate digivolution)
Helen: Tsukaimon - Saberdramon - LadyDevimon - Star Beelmon
Andrew: Kotemon - Dinohyumon - Kyukimon - SlashAngemon
Willard: Piximon. Nobody knows much of his past, and frankly, they don't really care.
Sue: Haven't actually decided yet LMFAO.

TELL ME ABOUT THE ROBOT
*EVIL LAUGHTER* OF COURSE I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT THE ROBOT, MY FRIEND!!!
There are actually a great many of them but since I pick and choose favorites (don't tell the others) I'm gonna talk about Blue and Penny :3 again, all under the cut.
Full disclosure I have changed Penny's character more times than I can even count but one thing has stayed consistent, and that is that her and Blue are dating :) ❤️
I'll tell you whatever else I can about her that hasn't changed, but the story really starts with Blue, not her, so we'll begin there.
Blue has a... um. Troubled past. He fought in a very, VERY large war-- like, the apocalypse war that wiped out most life on his planet kind of shit. This was not his decision, let that be totally clear! He was manufactured for it, and so was his buddy Red! Yeah their names are Blue and Red. They were nicknames that stuck.
Blue and Red started out as best besties ever, and this did not last whatsoever! Oopsies! War is hell etc etc, they grew apart because of their situation, and in the midst of Blue desperately trying to mend their relationship, Red FUCKING DIES!! WHICH SUCKS A LOT!!! But don't worry it gets better later </3
So Blue, obviously fucking distraught, decides he's gonna become a runaway, and meets these dudes on the way-- Wayde and Vega, who aren't super important for this infodump-- and these guys take him to the place where he meets Penny <3
So they arrive at this shelter(?) (it's a bar lol) full of other robots, most of which were long abandoned, no longer able to fulfill their original purpose, because most of these bots were for entertainment! For people that are now almost extinct. And whaddya know, Penny used to work there. And this girl is SPUNKY.
Now, keep in mind that Blue has severe anxiety, almost definitely PTSD, and is physically incapable of saying fuck, and this girl approaches him who uses "fuckin bastard" as a cute affectionate nickname. He is not adjusting well.
And the plot gets murky from there cuz this is a very unfinished series </3 deepest apologies but as a writer I can only do so much when the hyperfix hits me
BUT! They do learn to get along, Blue helps Penny open up to people and let herself feel her own emotions, and Penny helps Blue develop some confidence (FINALLY), and they're just generally a very sweet couple I think. They're meant to be I think. I feel crazy about em

ok but i have to know about a specific interaction that happened in Benched, between Tangy and a certain shadow monkey. what are your thoughts.
Ooohhh I’m so glad someone directly asked me about season 3 Tang stuff. I’ve been struggling to focus on one thing at a time with that (plus my new hyperfixation with Rottmnt isn’t helping), so hopefully this will get the ball rolling for me.
I love the confrontation between Tang and Macaque in Lantern City. The amount of times I’ve rewatched that scene alone is ridiculous. It does a good job of highlighting an element of each character that I hadn’t considered before, especially when it comes to how they view companionship. Both Macaque and Tang have insecurities when it comes to their friendships - Macaque with his bitter past w/ SWK and Tang with his place as the team’s resident “normal guy” - and the Lantern scene really emphasizes that in a way I didn’t expect.
It gets really interesting when you consider the fact that Tang is the ONLY other main character besides MK or SWK to have an 1-on-1 interaction with Macaque. The way Macaque treats Tang feels very different than any other character he’s shared a scene with. Every time Macaque interacts with another character (other than LBD) he either mocks or dismisses the other person. He mocks those he’s fighting (Dragon of the East and Sandy), dismisses Mei up until ‘The Samadhi Fire’, and he does both with SWK and MK throughout the show. With Tang, however, Macaque almost seems to treat him with a bit of respect. Macaque calls Tang by his name instead of giving him some kind of nickname and his conversation with Tang doesn’t involve any taunting or dismissive language. When Macaque says that Tang’s friends ‘get along just fine without [Tang],’ it isn’t meant to be demeaning - it’s a warning: “Don’t get attached to people who don’t appreciate you, or you’ll end up where I am.” Sure, Macaque kicks Tang straight in the face and throws him against the wall (how dare he hurt our nerd boy, btw), but he isn’t toying with Tang, which you might expect when a powerful character comes face-to-face with a guy who doesn’t even fight.
The scene in Lantern City definitely hits harder after the season 3 special. Since it has been confirmed by the show that there is some sort of direct connection between Tang and Tripitaka (although we’re still not sure what exactly that connection is) we truly begin to see the similarities between Tang and Macaque. They are both characters who live in the shadow of a legendary figure they could never hope to match up to and they both feel overlooked by those close to them as a result. In this scenario, Tang and Macaque become foils of one another - Macaque shows Tang the worst that can happen when his friends leave him behind for good. The difference between the two characters stem from the values they hold and what they expect for themselves. Macaque seems to value strength and, as such, believes that the best way to be accepted is to not only be equal to SWK, but better than him. Tang, on the other hand, values peace and friendship and instead of wishing to be better than his friends so that they may appreciate him more, his speech in ‘Benched’ reveals that all Tang wants to do is simply help them.
The crew is definitely trying to bring the unique dynamic between these two characters to our attention by having them interact in such a way, and I think they would have explored this dynamic a bit more if the crew were allotted more episodes per season.
Hopefully I covered what you wanted me to cover, Anon! I’m super happy someone sent me an ask like this. Answering an ask directly is much easier for me than having to direct the topic myself :P

demon slayer rant cause i can (manga spoilers)
haven’t really thought about kny since forcing myself to be un-hyperfixated on it once 2021 hit. been casually following it since the mugen train movie came out in theaters due to being busy with life and having read the manga so i know everything to expect (to put this into perspective-- i was finishing up my sophomore year in hs when i first watched the anime and now im about to be a second-year college student) but with this recent season following some of my top characters (genya, muichiro, and mitusri) and knowing my other top characters (giyuu) are about to become important again i can’t help thinking deeply about it (and to reiterate, manga spoilers past ‘read more’ youve been warned)
the reason why i wanted to rant about kny was the handling of the upcoming training arc. it’s a short arc, but incredibly important for character development and set pieces for the last arc. at first, maybe a movie adaption like mugen train but i don’t think that’s a good way to adapt it, for the sole reason that anime onlys will see ‘training arc’ and just chalk it up to filler (which-- it kinda is but shhhhh), so obviously it has to be apart of a season. i however don’t believe it should be it’s own season like how the last two arcs have been adapted just cause it is a shorter arc, i think at tops it should be six episodes with one episode being dedicated to giyuu’s backstory like (like ep 8 of s3) and the sixth episode ending on the ubuyashiki estate exploding and the crows delivering the news of the final battle starting. this is a weird thing to rant on but whatever. this leads me to believe the smartest choice for ufotable is to make s4 the last season altogether and have around the same amount of episodes as s1 and maybe even an extra episode or two just to do the story justice.
another thing i want to ramble about is how i believe zenitsu and obanai were done dirty in the story. every other main character was treated with respect and were able to be taken seriously except these two, with zenitsu just being the “comic relief” and obanai basically being a second thought. like, his backstory was thrown at us out of left field we only spent time with him one-on-one for like a chapter until his backstory. i wish he was treated with more respect (this also might just be the fact one of my closest alters in my system is an obanai fictive because i originally did not like obanai LOL). that’s why near the end of my time in the fandom i literally created an entire arc in my head that i maybe told like one other person that would develop their characters more and be treated seriously (willing to go more in-depth with that arc if asked).
i think lastly what i want to go on about is how i genuinely love the shinazugawa brothers. now while genya is in my top three of kny characters, sanemi isn’t in my top lists but goddamn do i love him, i think i just kinda love every character especially now that i grown up and love obanai more. but the story with the sinazugawa brothers is so beautiful i can’t describe it. if i had to decribe it, i would say they are the perfect foils to tanjiro and nezuko. both are siblings with a demon/demon-adjacent sibling but tanjiro protects nezuko in a different way than how sanemi protects genya, cause sanemi genuinely believes genya should have stayed far away from the demon slayer corps so he wouldn’t lose him, using the guise of hate by pushing him away, but tanjiro wants to keep his sister close to him to protect her. it’s very beautiful and i have more to say about them but i have to wake up early in the morning to begin my summer job lol.
i will just end this whole thing with my ask box is open if anyone wants to discuss kny more or just have any questions for me about the show.

HOW TO DIY REPAIR A BROKEN BUCKLE PRONG FOR PUNKS
SO i bought these dope goth sandals the other day - unfortunately i bought them secondhand for $5 and they’re at least 10 years old already, so the prongs in both buckles on the right foot fell out
Tumblr media
i was getting by using a bobby pin to clamp the top buckle shut, but when the bottom one fell out too i got a decent look at it and decided i could probably make a replacement for it. so for any punks out there who prefer to fix rather than throw out, here’s how you do that:
Tumblr media
you need:
your borked shoe
a paperclip (unbent)
scissors
a decently thick needle and any thread
(optional) a mini dremmel, if you’ve got that kind of thing from a past hyperfixation
Tumblr media
what you wanna do first is unbend your paperclip, and in my case i needed two prongs, so i snapped it in half. (your teeth can do this. or pliers, which is a better idea, but i don’t have those.) then you take one half of your unbent paperclip and create an l hook - this looks like a cursive lowercase l; a line with a small hoop at the bottom.
Tumblr media
you’re gonna take your diy l hook and open the loop that connects your buckle to the shoe itself, and thread the l hook up through the existing hole in the middle of your buckle.
Tumblr media
your diy l hook has now become a diy buckle prong, albeit likely way too tall. that’s okay! depending on the length of your l hook, wiggle it up and down to a good length, and then clamp it with your fingers. this is where your prong is going to sit when anchored.
Tumblr media
now you’re gonna take your threaded needle and find the point on the inside of the strap (where it will rest on your foot, unless you don’t mind the scarring, in which case the outside is fine if you’d rather it not rub on your foot) where the loop of your prong is. should be around halfway down the strap (give or take for length).
Tumblr media
post your needle through the strap like so, and this part is super fiddly, so i would recommend feeding both the needle and the prong out the side so you can make sure you’ve gone through the loop. then you can push the loop back inside the strap down the needle, and it will stop where it was anchored originally where it hits the other side of your needle. then sew a few quick loops to hold it in place, just like sewing on a button. you only want to anchor one side, though, because your prong should still be able to hinge forwards and backwards a little bit to fit through the holes of the foot strap.
Tumblr media
make the most gordian knot you can and tie it super tight. i like to leave a little tail so i don’t accidentally chop into my anchoring stitch. it’s unlikely to be exactly glamorous, but the good news is, chicks dig scars.
(if you really don’t want the knot to rub on your foot, you can use gaffer tape or bandaids here to cover it.)
Tumblr media
if you’re lucky, your prong oughta be about the right length after all that wiggling and stitching, but if not you should be able to either poke it down a bit, OR this is where that optional dremmel comes in, because you can snap it down to length and then smooth the edges so you don’t buzzsaw yourself every time you do your shoe up.
Tumblr media
and ta-da!! the buckles on your orthopedic goth sandals are now working!! this may not be a permanent solution, but you can repeat as necessary, and you can use hardier materials like nails or jeweler’s wire to make a less-mortal prong - not that i personally can vouch for the efficacy of that, because i used paperclips, but please feel free to let me know if you do.
now go forth and be punk!

For the ask game: 💚💚💚
44. How often do you lie? Is all lying inherently bad? Are you generally truthful?
67. What’s the worst thing a person can be?
93. Do you draw meaning from your dreams, or do you disregard them?
OoOooOOO here we go!
Prepare for a long post with some venting sprinkled in
Okay, first: do I lie? Not much. I know a lot of people say that but I'm actually pretty proud of the fact that I don't lie often; I used to have a big problem with making stuff up about my life as a way to mask and fit in with neurotypicals. I was never my true self with my friends, out of fear of being shamed or bullied. I mostly stayed on tumblr back then (way more than now, if u can believe it) still had this blog, just a 'beta' version of it lol and I was in soooo many fandoms, I didn't interact with ppl tho, I'd be scrolling through fanfic and art all day, reblogging stuff and posting art that got literally ZERO notes lol, daydreaming about living in my hyperfixations and venting to a brick wall (essentially) about what I now know to be OCD. When I was revamping this blog, deleting all my old posts, I found that vent post I made all those years ago, I took a screenshot of it just to keep. It was so insane to see how far I've come but also sad to remember how I was feeling back then.
I actually cried thinking abt how I'd never be able to be my full self around someone and that I'd never have a genuine friend who I could laugh with and feel comfortable with. Whenever friends wanted to hang out or call me, I'd be nervous all day thinking about it, dreading it, basically. It was bad. But then I met @valentineee and she's honestly the first true friend I've ever had, she's my wife and I love her with all my heart‼️‼️‼️😭😭💗💗💗
So, since I met Valentine, I've finally become comfortable being who I am and I vowed to stop lying. Obviously sometimes it's inevitable, like if you have to do it because of circumstances- but other than that, I think I'm very truthful! And I'm really proud of myself for it💗
That kinda branches off to the sub-question, is all lying inherently bad? I don't think so because some people may have genuine, mental blocks or traumas that can make them feel like they need to to protect themselves. However, there are people out there who lie and take advantage of people just because they can, which is different. Overall, I think lying isn't too bad unless you are generally a trustworthy person💖
What's the worst thing a person can be?
A LIAR- no just kidding lol😭😭
Wow glitter... way to hit me with the heavy questions😭
Imo, the worst thing a person can be is immoral, inconsiderate, hurtful and evil, all on purpose. If someone does these things because they find it fun to see people suffer, that's the worst kind of person to me.
💤💤💫💫💫Dreamss💫💫💫💤💤
I used to draw meaning from my dreams to an unhealthy degree. All of you that have OCD would know that intrusions invade your dreams, I had awful dreams like this and every time I woke up, I'd be convinced I was actually a monster, dreaming of disgusting stuff. But that's not true, I was only dreaming about it because I spent EVERY. WAKING. MOMENT thinking about my intrusive thoughts, literally, I was inconsolable, I was constantly rocking back and forth or pacing or shaking my leg, every so often I'd scream and yell and twitch and my face would be pulled down in this awful grimace. It was painful, I literally can't believe I survived that. I couldn't be left alone because I was so scared and I had to sleep with my mam because the thoughts got worse when I was alone. I'm medicated now, so things are good. Intrusive thoughts will always be there but I've gotten so much better at trusting that I'm a good person🥰
Mkay... went on a whole ass vent there and bared my soul, oops-
Point being, I don’t really assign meaning to my dreams, if people do, I'm completely alright with it. I choose not to because of trauma. Also, I dont think it’s really possible to assign a definitive meaning to something as fleeting as a dream (wow am I a poet-) like, I do find it cool that a lot of ppl will dream of the same thing but I think that's just another thing that connects us, we're all human and have similar anxieties and fears.
I think I've written enough now😳😳 sorry for the angst urrrr
💗💗💗

that makes so much sense actually. i also am making some aus (unrelated) and am wanting to seperate them into little ficlets/art pieces/comics of the pieces that motivate me before even touching on an overarching story but also god is it difficult for me. if thats what works for you as well id definitely say treat it like that (also i would LOVE to see any animatics you do for this)
i personally am mostly watching the hermits doing their hermit crafting (currently watching 18 hermits simultaneously the hyperfixation is b a d) and a couple SOS members, though i plan to watch more of the creators. I've really only seen up to double life (all through grians pov), and i havent even finished that. in my defence, the "its for your secret soulmate" line utterly and completely destroyed me and i have NOT recovered since (i stopped watching his hermitcraft videos after that too until the start of s10).
i have made the resolution to go watch other povs but i need to finish his first rip.
ANYWAY BACK TO THE AU
How often do you think the vflarp games effect their out of game relationships? like obviously it led to them becoming friends and desert duo becoming "moirails" but like. Did double life cause a rift between grian and scar? has rendog being absent from the games had any significance on anything? (i havent watched further so i cant really give too many other examples). Do the winners get anything other than the satisfaction that they alone won?
absolute behemoth of an ask my bad
Yeah! There’s just something so appealing about being able to just jump around & do mini projects that go together rather than one huge one. I’m hoping it’ll hold off the burn out I inevitably get for my AUs. **stares off into the distance thinking about all my mega fics that only ever got three chapters** I get it being hard to break it down though! I hope you’re able to land at a place where you can create as easily & painlessly as possible. ^^
I feel you on the hyperfixation lol. I was doing that hermitblr survey that’s going around & realized that I watch every episode of a third of the server, & some to most episodes of another third. & there’s a handful in the final third that I’ve been meaning to watch, but haven’t gotten to because I’m so busy watching everyone else & thinking about fanworks. This season is just slamming all the good brain chemical buttons!
Tbf, “it’s for your secret soulmate” hit so fucking hard, I do not blame you an ounce for wanting to take a break after that! When you’re ready, I highly recommend Martyn’s 3rd life, it’s so good! I never quite got the Renchanting/Treebark hubbub as someone who’d only seen Grian’s perspective of that season, but after watching Martyn’s… The drama is just. So. Good. Martyn + Ren is just a combo of theatre kid lore nerds & it honestly slaps. Gem’s Secret Life is damn good as well, just ‘cause she got to be a chaos gremlin & we love to see it.
Oh yes, their VLARPing affects IRL relationships all the time! A lot of early relationships developed due to playing 3rd Life & those relationships continued on to influence who went on which ship once they reached adulthood! Obviously, we’ve got Scar & Griann, but also there’s Scohtt & Jimmie who became auspitices, & Wrehnn & Martyn who stick together & eventually become matesprits. Jimmie & Tangoh hit it off after playing Double Life as soulmates & eventually enter a [matespritship? Moiraillegance? Haven’t decided] as well. & of course, my beloved Boat Boys developed their weird whatevership around the same time. (Joel swears they’re pitch. Eethos never comments on it. The truth is somewhere around them being hate friends who are flushed for each other??? But fuck if you’ll ever get either of them to admit it.)
Things were pretty rocky for Scar & Griann after DL; the whole secret soulmate thing was a case of Griann being mildly annoyed with Scar & thinking he could get back at Scar/make Scar jealous. This blew up in his face ~*~spectacularly~*~ & it took quite a bit for things to heal between them. (Mummbo spent a lot of that time being very confused why the vibes on Scar’s ship were so fucking rancid until he managed to get Griann to fess up.)
There definitely is a plot related reason Wrehnn hasn’t been playing, but I’m holding back on finalizing anything until I get more of the out of game plot mapped out. But yes, that definitely affects/is an effect of things in game!
I think, much like in real life, winning is just for the prestige of it. Like, in this AU, the Life series is just a bunch of games they’re playing for the heck of it. Though this does make me think that I need to decide where these games come from, whether it’s a mass market thing or something Griann threw together or if maybe it came from some other outside influence. Hm…

Small story/anecdote thingy I think. Just some feelings about the Eriverse and junk that I need to deal with at some point instead of pushing it to the back of my mind.
You know how when you play a game so much, usually a game like Sims or a simulator game (Stardew Valley or others like that), and you hit a point you want to just start over with a fresh batch?
I get that feeling a lot with those games. I would make one family of sims and turn off aging just so I can be with them for a long time. Then I would get bored, make them have kids and have a small spark of fun for a bit before wanting to reset everything and start from the beginning all over again.
It happens a lot with idle games too. The struggle of the beginning is the most fun part to me. So getting so far into the game there is nothing else to do just makes it pointless, so restarting is the only way I can really find motivation to keep playing.
I say all of this because I've honestly been wanting to reset everything recently. Maybe because the Eriverse is getting really complex and fleshed out (definitely not a bad thing at all), but it's becoming like... overwhelming? Maybe that's the word for it?
Like I am definitely having fun! There is no doubt about that! But the story was not made with other media in mind. It was just supposed to be NSR and NSR only. And even then, I've gotten so far into my own headcanons for NSR characters I have been thinking of resetting myself and my mind for a long while in this area.
I think this is why I like AUs so much. It gives me a break from the longer storyline as a whole and allows me to play with different aspects of a character I find important than the ones I ended up originally choosing.
This is also a thing I do in Sims and Idle games. I will play the first round for a very long time, getting really far until I get bored. Take a break, and then reset. But each reset is just shorter and shorter until I abandon the game for a LONG time and come back to have along playthrough again before doing my shorter resets.
I used to have a story with multiple medias in my mind (mostly animes, creepypastas, and horror movie villains) that I kept up for YEARS. Like all throughout middle and high school. Very in depth and complicated. Similar to how I am doing the Eriverse.
And I just gave up on it. Haven't thought about that stuff in YEARS until this moment. It was the center of my life and I just gave it up because I found something more fun at the time? I think that is what happened to me.
Anyway, I don't know why I said this. Just something I've been feeling for a very long time. It happened in a few roleplays I did when I was younger too. I just kept making it more and more complex, and that kind of like... ruined it? I guess.
I'm not saying that Eriverse is ruined for me at all. I am still very much going to continue talking about it and stuff (I still have PLENTY of stuff queued up for like another couple of weeks), but just like... maybe I'm getting burnt out because the story was never meant to be like this?
I'm sure if I had actually planned shit out I would be a lot more happy and ecstatic for this story, which is why I am really happy to think of the Future Act which is being planned for multiple media than the Present Act of the Eriverse.
I don't know. This was just a ramble. I'm not resetting anything, maybe if I do it will be a soft reset. But I guess I just wanted to say this out loud (or you know, write it out loud lol), just so that it was out there and not just stuck in my mind.
It's like this depression that hits once you lose a hyperfixation or end a really good TV show. That in-between phase that feels empty and void of a lot of emotions.
I definitely still love NSR, a lot more than any of these other medias I am talking about, but I was loosing the love for NSR a bit and decided the best course of action would be to do a crossover.
Which turned into all this Eriverse stuff. Well, I guess even before the NSpidR AU crossover stuff I was kinda running on fumes by just adding more OCs into NSR instead of playing with the canon characters themselves. Which was the start of the complexities that kinda made me want to step away from NSR in the first place.
But it feels like I have nothing else. I am not attached to any of these other medias like I am NSR. Even now, if there was no connection to NSR, I wouldn't give a shit about making art or content at all for HFR, Psychonauts, Spiderverse, Homestuck, or JJK.
NSR literally is the glue for me and I've been wanting to reset my version of NSR for at least a year, maybe 2 years now. Just to go back to canon and start making a new version of NSR that is different from the one I built up in my head after all these years.
I guess it's my AU brain doing this? Wanting to always have a new "what-if" scenario to play with? I don't know. It makes me sad.
Sad that I can't just love another media with the same love I have for NSR. I literally can only have one main media at a time until I throw it away for something else entirely. Then it becomes a sad memory or a passing thought that takes over my brain for like a week before I go back to the new main media I am in love with.
It sucks. It honestly really does. It reminds me how I just can't do major things at the same time. I can't watch JJK and read Homestuck at the same time. I can't learn to drive and be in college at the same time. I can't do shit half the time because I am too busy doing another thing.
I can't fucking multitask properly and it fucking sucks. It impacts my everyday life, work life, fandom life. It is all just one thing or nothing at all. And once I put everything into that one thing I get sick of it and want to throw away years of work just because I am bored as shit and want something new in my life.
Sorry. I don't know what I am really trying to prove at this point. I am just sick of my brain telling me to reset my ideas and headcanons over and over. I want to go back to when I first was introduced to NSR, when there was an active community, when I had a lot more online friends.
It all just feels like it fell apart and I ma just screaming into the void. Even though I fucking know I'm not because I have so many people sending me in asks and actually interacting with me.
Maybe it's because I can tell that my followers' main focus isn't NSR anymore like it used to be. I get so many more asks just about Spiderverse, Homestuck, and JJK with only a few mentions of an NSR character and it just feels like... Like I am listening to other people talking to me about their interest that I kinda share.
I know that sounds fucking rude and shitty. Because I really do love hearing other people's opinions and headcanons, even if it isn't for NSR characters, but it's almost as if I'm just not interested in hearing it, even when I am!
I actively can't think about these other media's unless they connect to NSR. And when they don't then I just can't give a shit. I have an ask for Sam and Dion sitting in my inbox that I want to answer but I just can't fucking actively think of an answer or a drawing without seeing the ask because I can't give a shit about them outside of asks!
It fucking sucks so much! I want to think more actively about these other medias! I want to be able to come up with my own headcanons and not just piggyback off of others!
Do you know how much it fucking sucks to know people want to hear my headcanons for characters like Peni, Kento, Sam, or any other character I fucking love but I literally just can't come up with shit for them at all?!
I feel fucking awful when someone puts their heart and soul into an ask about a character with such an amazing headcanon and I just can't care about it at all!
I WANT TO FUCKING CARE ABOUT IT! I WANT TO CARE ABOUT YOUR HEADCANONS! I WANT TO HAVE MY OWN I CAN ACTIVELY SHARE WITHOUT NEEDING TO BE PROMPTED FOR AN ANSWER!
This fucking shit is going nowhere! I hate this so much! I thought talking about this would make me better but it just makes me think I am not appreciating the little community I made and I fucking hate myself for it!
I really do appreciate you all for sending me in asks. I have so many I still need to answer but damn. I think the reason it takes me so long is because I just can't actively think of these characters outside of asks being sent to me.
I don't daydream about half these characters like I do with NSR characters. I wish I could, but I just can't seem to do it.
. . .
Okay, I'm done. I think I got it all, or at least mostly, out of my system. I just... wanted to share that I guess. I don't know.
Sorry. You don't have to change your asking habits for me. It's fine really. I think I just need to visit source material again for most of these media. Maybe that will spark something in me.
I did get the two Spiderverse movies recently. Maybe I'll watch those again and replay Psychonauts when I get the chance.
Anyway, anyone who actually read this, thanks. I'm not resetting or ending the Eriverse at all. This has been stuff in my mind for probably years now (even more so actually since I abandoned my first major multi-media daydream).
Hope everyone is doing good. I'm gonna eat some chocolate and watch fun videos to just ignore my problems.

You haven't finished Cyberpunk yet?! I thought you had! ... You know what? Keep up the good work. I hadn't been that upset at an ending since Mass Effect 3. (And from what I've heard (also haven't finished yet) BG3's ending is at least Mostly Happy.)
LOL YEAH I HAVEN'T. It's a talent. The worst kind. Like I could only describe this as my weird toxic (probably neurodivergent) gamer trait but:
If I am really enjoying a game, like 'oh this is going to change me fundamentally and become one of my long-term hyperfixations in rotation' my brain is just 'I don't want this to end'. And then I just ... suddenly stop. I don't know how it works (but I'm guessing it aligns with my fun audhd combo where I will exhaust something of its dopemine output then go latch onto something else) but it's like my brain is 'saving it for later'. Usually by distracting me with something else. It's rarely intentional but I am definitely forcing myself to finish BG3 because I have Phantom Liberty coming up (and I want to actually finish a game this time).
The other thing I tend to do is if I'm playing a game with multiple endings, when I hit the 'point of no return' I usually look up the endings in the vaugest broad strokes terms, so I can make sure the end I'm gunning for 'makes sense' to me and my playstyle thus far. I exclusively blame the game Catherine for this - I don't think I've ever been so aggressively angry at an ending in my life (I can't remember the specifics but I think I was, idk, 1-2 points or decisions? off the ending which I felt made MORE sense to me - so basically I learned, while the game thinks it knows what ending makes sense it might not always make sense TO ME when it comes down to it).
I could probably could have an extensive 'I studied game design you know' yell about how multi-ending pathways are laid out, but I'll tl;dr that and just say - sometimes I'll straight up miss an ending pathway because I thought the game wanted me to go in a specific direction or the option wasn't obvious.
So I'm not 100% anti spoilers ever but I am a 'I know the ending-ish but not how you get there' - that's what I avoid.
ANYWAY
Glad to hear BG3's ending is not going to clock me over the head. Thankfully I got the 'good' (good-ish?) ending in ME3, but only thanks to a. playing way past when it was relevant so I could b. know the endings in advance and prepare.
Yeah I guess I am a really weird gamer. >.>

Every time my hyperfixation wraps back around to Pokémon I have to fight the urge to open a Google doc and vomit the absurd nightmare fic my brain has been cooking up for the past seven years or so in which I retell the entire anime but changing everything I dislike, adding random elements/plot lines/characters from other media in the franchise whenever I please and with no regard for canon, and adding in several completely baseless headcanons/theories including but not limited to:
- Making Ash’s mom incredibly morally gray with good reasons for the things she did but the outcome was still awful and traumatic :)
- fucked up family trees to the point where Ash almost dates someone who got adopted by the ex boyfriend of Ash’s half brother’s father
- a character actually being a soulless body piloted by a vengeful ghost after the child in said body died in a car accident while holding a haunted artifact. The ghost then got amnesia and has no idea this happened, Ash however DOES know this happened due to Aura Bullshit and just has to live with that because telling said character about it would probably Ruin Their Life. This is completely ignored for several years until it suddenly becomes plot relevant when Ash’s brother’s father’s ex tries to destroy the world and the ghost is actually one of the only people who can stop it. (And this is all because I wanted to explain why a specific character was such a bitch because canon did a shit job on his backstory so I gave him a better one)
- Ash committing arson and assassination of a high ranking government official. But he deserved it so it’s fine :)
Also just hitting characters with the Trans your Gender ray completely indiscriminately but I always do that.
