“I don’t think he wants Noelle either,” Caiden sighed, “look you got really close to Kai. I don’t think the guy wants to share his son. The moment that kid said he wanted you to be his dad was the moment your death sentence was signed. Julien isn’t about to share his son’s affection with anyone.”

“Oh,” he was an idiot. He hadn’t considered that. Not that he knew any of this when he’d met Noelle. If she had been who he thought she was then none of this would matter. He’d still protect her and Kai. Kai was the real loser in all of this. Snapping his fingers he looked up at Caiden. “I think I know how we could turn this to our advantage.”

“What are you thinking?” he asked.

“I meet with Noelle as planned. Instead of falling into their trap what if we trap Julien? Once we have him we make him tell us who his middle man was.”

Crossing his arms impatient to have this done and over. “What do you want Noelle and don’t say to get back together. We both know that’s not going to happen.”

“What makes you think I want something? Why can’t I just want to see you? We had something good. We owe each other a second chance.”

Shaking his head he looked around the park trying to see where Kai went. “Maybe we should go after him,” he said “he shouldn’t be alone…”
