So in @novalizinpeace’s poppy playtime au, specifically in the cartoon portion, the critters have these magic pendants that give them certain abilities. This isn’t limited to the gang, and all sorts of different pendants exist for different characters, but there’s a catch.

In this post, they talk about how if the magic in the pendant overwhelms a critter, it can transform them into a myth, a magical, monstrous being with incredible power, but can sometimes be incredibly dangerous to the people around them.

So I decided to take the 8 main critters and turn them into horrible little beasties for my amusement, and now I wish to show you guys the fruits of my labor.

Dogday - Sol

This is the only ‘canon’ myth critter that exists in the au. Every time Dogday is pushed past his limit and gets too angry with something he transforms into sol, who is a mindless flaming warrior with no logic or regard for their surroundings. This leads to them being pretty dangerous to be around, but Sol isn’t evil, they just want to protect their user from any harm, and if left to their own devices, would probably self-isolate to protect themselves (and others) from harm.

2. Hoppy Hopscotch - Notus

The first of my original designs. Notus is the transformed version of Hoppy, and has the same weather manipulation powers, just to a much larger degree. Although she mostly uses it to make her storms larger. Notus’s mental state is much more stable than Sol (relatively), specifically in that she can remember her past life, but not specific people, so friends and even family are hardly whispers in her mind, if even that. She is quite competitive, viewing her storms as a contest to see how big she can make them, and will never back down from a challenge, doing everything in her power to win, but she is also a graceful loser, and hates cheaters. Her name comes from the Greek god of south winds, who is associated with wetness and the coming of rains.

3. Bubba bubbaphant - Ganesha

This guy’s name comes from the Hindu deity of new beginnings and the patron of the sciences and arts, who is also represented by a man with an elephant’s head and four arms. His mental state is similar to that of Notus, in that he can remember specific events from his past, but not people. He has become incredibly intelligent, being able to solve complex equations and understand lots of different subjects, but his already prevalent neuroticism has been turned up to eleven, with even the slightest infraction driving him to a rage, which can make him incredibly dangerous to deal with, but also rewarding, as his intellect allows him to answer many questions. He can also spin webs, because spider.

4. Bobby Bearhug - Callisto

Callisto is a little different from the other myths. She can remember her name, and her past, and the people around her, but only sometimes. You see, her pendant’s natural power is to absorb the excess emotion around her, and it still does that, but if she absorbs to much, then it leads to her transformation into a massive bear like monster with one goal, to make the excess stop by any means necessary. This has led to her voluntary exile in order to stop herself from hurting the people around her, which causes Bobby a great deal of pain, but it’s better than letting herself hurt the people she cares about the most. Her name comes from a nymph who was transformed into (what else) a bear by a furious Hera.

5. Pickypiggy - Limos

Unlike most of the others, Limos can hardly remember who she once was, much less the people in her life or what they mean to her. Instead she is driven by her one deepest instinct: to care and provide for the people around her. She works tirelessly to cook and prepare extravagant meals for anyone who might need it, leading to her neglecting her own health and her living environment. She also has to deal with a ravenous hunger that pains her every moment, and often leads her to devouring her dishes as soon as she finished, causing even further distress. Her name comes from the Greek goddess of starvation, which i don’t think is a very good comparison, but I can’t think of anything better, so eh.

6. KickinChicken - The Roc

Kickin’s transformed state is probably the least actively dangerous to be around. He’s a large, powerful bird capable of flying incredibly fast, as well as being incredibly loud and aggressive, but never actively harmful. His mental state is kind of the opposite of Notus and Ganesha, in that he can remember specific people and places, but not his past nor his name, and goes out of his way to try and help others. The key word being ‘try’, as his loud and aggressive demeanor often end up causing more damage than assistance. His name comes from an Arabian creature that is described as a bird of prey large enough to carry an elephant, which I thought was a good choice, and I couldn’t find any mythological chickens that really fit him.

7. Craftycorn - Apophis

Her name comes from an Egyptian monster that is said to be the embodiment of chaos and disorder, although Crafty is significantly less malevolent than her mythological counterpart. The main effect of her presence is the chaotic shifting of her environment, colors swapping and shapes changing into maelstrom of chaos around her, with the effect getting stronger the closer you get towards her, and any critter who does so has the very real risk of being torn apart. Apophis herself isn’t doing much better, with her entire body constantly melting into multicolored goop that has a consistency similar to that of candle wax. Not much is known about her mental state, as no one is brave enough to get close to her for risk of being killed, but there has to be something left of her as her maelstrom very much has the capacity to expand over the entire world and destroy it, the only reason it hasn’t is because Crafty appears to be holding it back through sheer force of willpower.

8. Catnap - Ouranos

Ouranos is probably the one who’s the most ‘in there’, besides Callisto in her non murder mode. He can remember his past life quite clearly and the people in them. In fact the only difference between him and normal Catnap is that Ouranos is slightly more apathetic towards outside events. He’s floated off into space and now observes to world from the heavens, watching as everything drifts by, because he can’t exactly leave. He can, however, see his friends suffering, and wishes he had the capability to help them in any way he could.

It was 3:56 am, and she had lost track of how long (Name) had been sitting on the couch, eagerly awaiting Sae’s return. Earlier, she had attempted to find solace in sleep, but restlessness took hold, leaving her uncomfortable and yearning for Sae’s tender embrace. She’s acutely aware of her obligation to be in bed, particularly with morning classes awaiting her on the horizon. Yet, an unexplained surge of melancholy envelops her, its origin a mystery dancing in the shadows of her consciousness. Unaware of the silent tears that have slipped from her eyes, she remains lost in the depths of her emotions, unable to decipher their cryptic whispers.

The bedroom doors swung open, unveiling the figure of Sae. Snapping out of her trance, her gaze locked onto Sae, her eyes shimmering with tears. Sae instinctively closed the distance between them, his thumb tenderly wiping away the cascading tears. Kneeling down, he sought to truly see her face and softly inquired, “What’s troubling you, mi amor?”

She averted her gaze from his eyes filled with concern, and Sae, recognizing her need for solace, gently enveloped her in his embrace. Guiding her head towards the shelter of his chest, he tenderly wove his fingers through her hair, seeking to offer solace and comfort, silently whispering reassurance with each gentle stroke.

Mumbled apologies escaped her lips as she nestled her head upon his shoulder. Sae tilted his head in perplexity, his voice gentle as he inquired, “For what?”

Tears welled in her eyes as she continued, “I don’t understand why you’re with me. What makes me special? I feel undeserving of your love and presence—”

Without hesitation, Sae silenced her worries with a tender kiss, unwilling to entertain her self-deprecating thoughts. For in his eyes, she was a radiant, captivating presence, the embodiment of love and beauty that surpassed all measure.

As their lips separated, Sae delicately pressed his forehead against hers, their closeness becoming a profound expression of his unwavering devotion and genuine care.

“Do not let those words escape your lips,” Sae implored, his voice a gentle caress. “In my life, you are the very essence of perfection, the embodiment of all that is extraordinary. My love for you knows no bounds, and it shatters my heart to witness you question your worth. Please, trust in the love I hold for you.”

Tears continued to flow down (Name)’s face, not borne of sadness, but instead fueled by overwhelming happiness and gratitude. Sae tenderly cradled her in his arms, pressing gentle kisses upon her forehead, whispering sweet nothings. With each passing moment, her sobs began to subside, finding solace in his comforting presence.

Sae suggested they freshen up, leading (Name) to the bathroom. While he took a swift shower, (Name) tended to her tear-stained face, indulging in a long overdue skincare routine alongside him. Giggles escaped her lips as Sae’s serum threatened to spill onto the counter, a lighthearted moment amid their shared intimacy.

By the time they were done, the first rays of the rising sun painted the sky in a soft palette of colours, heralding the dawning of a new day. (Name) had made the decision to call in sick, and Sae, sensing her weariness, insisted that she take much-needed rest by his side. They found their way to the comfort of the bed, where Sae enveloped her in a tender embrace.

“Sleep well, mi sol,” he whispered, planting a gentle kiss upon her lips.

She responded with a contented hum, the weariness from her earlier emotional release finally catching up with her. Drifting into the realm of dreams, she found solace and tranquillity in the comforting rhythm of his heartbeat, surrendering herself to a peaceful slumber.

NOTES. i forgot i had this in my drafts unfinished, so, here’s the finished piece! mi amor means my love, mi sol means my sun. i think sae calling his s/o his sun while he’s like the moon ykyk its kinda cute to me i rly like the idea heheehhe

You're currently lying upside down on the side of Solomon’s bed, watching him scribble away on some papers you couldn’t care less about. He’s probably working on another lesson for you, but you’re too frustrated to focus on practicing magic. No, you’re feeling something worse than frustration—you're bored.

You’re bored out of your mind, and you want entertainment, attention, anything that’ll distract you from thoughts of ‘how many pens I can steal from Solomon’s desk without him noticing’.

You groan obnoxiously, hoping Sol gets the hint and puts his pen down. Solomon doesn’t, of course, he heard you, and of course, he’s purposefully paying no mind to him.

So, of course, you do it again. Groaning even louder and rolling around on his bed, kicking your feet on the bed to get your point across even more. It's childish, yes but you don't care in the slightest. pausing your movements to peek up at the desk he’s at and notice Solomon’s still writing away.

Annoying.

“Hey. heyy…. Hey geezer. Old bat,” you say, picking up a loose piece of paper off the floor and tearing off the corners to throw at him. “Pay attention to me.”

Silence.

“Sol. Solomon.” He finally stops writing, but he doesn't let the pen go. He just sits in silence, staring at the paper he was previously writing on and the stray balled-up pieces of paper now starting to collect on his desk.

“Solomonie. "Mr. Monsolo,” continuing to spew out random names you could think of, Solomon finally lets the pen drop to the desk with a deep sigh.

Solomon finally looks up at you, surprisingly, he doesn't look annoyed. It's almost as if he was expecting you to do something like this, which he isn’t. At this point, bothering him has become a hobby for you. “What can I do for you, my lovely MC?”

"I've got a question for you"

“Oh?”

“Yeah, listen up, okay?” You shift in your spot on the bed so that you’re sitting upright on your knees facing him. Sitting in silence for a moment, thinking of the next string of words coming out of your mouth: "If I were a leech, would you let me feed off you? yknow, like blood.”

Solomon smiles at that. “You want to drink my blood?” you shake your head, “not particularly no… well, I guess not currently. I’m not a leech. Or a vampire… or Asmodeus.” you whisper the last bit, though you guess he still heard you since he laughs a little.

“Is that really what you wanted to ask me?” When he sees you nod at that, Solomon sits back in his chair with a finger tapping his chin (even the way he thinks is annoying) and ponders for a moment,

"MC, there’s not a thing I wouldn’t let you do to me if you asked for it.”

The room went silent for a moment, and the atmosphere suddenly changed. You couldn’t quite place it, you don’t know exactly what kind of mood it shifted into, but you could feel the utter disgust forming on your face from that.

“Can’t you just, like, say no or something? You go along with almost everything I say.”

“You would’ve been upset if I didn’t let you suck my blood.”

“WELL-…yeah but you don't have to word it like that. I can’t tell if you’re messing with me or not.”

Solomon chuckles lightly before getting up out of his chair to meet you on the bed. He sits next to you and places his hand on top of yours.

“I mean it, MC. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you.”

Ahh, there he goes again. Solomon has a habit of getting all sentimental at the most random moments of the day. He’s so earnest and genuine that you never know what to say or do. What’s the right thing to say when someone says that to you? Especially your teacher, of all people.

“Do you always care for your students like this?”

"I've only ever had one.”

God, what's with his sudden mood shift? It’s getting harder to breathe, and he’s making it harder. His hand moves under yours to weave his fingers in between yours and squeeze them.

“There’s only one student I’ve ever cared about like this, MC.”

“Good.” You squeeze back.

@.yomotsu-hirasaka: helped me figure out what the hell Jam was saying. She used a lot of Kanji and Katakana, apparently. Most of it for food.

Took a few liberties with the scripting here because otherwise it wouldn't have worked with the textboxes in English. it's the same functionally, as far as I'm aware. This is why I'm not asking upfront for a new translation, but I'll never say no to one.

I especially hated trying to find a word in the first bubble. I didn't want to split up the word after 3, but different and separate were too long. I don't like distinct, but it's what works, length-wise.

Sol looks dopey here. I only just now realized that they're fighting and that Sol wasn't just... Holding his sword like that. For some reason. Ky, go get a more distinctive sword.

Sorry, this comic is just super cute. God look at panel three right now. I'll wait.

Trying something new with what I... Assume to be the artists' names above the comics, where I romanize it but don't erase the original characters. I dunno. We'll see.

The "Humans are Space Orcs" trope has always scratched a real good itch in my brain. I have something I want to write for it, but I'm really shit at coming up with a plot, so I keep just doing little drabbles like this:

"You know, I don’t like that they call you that.”

Thirtytwo’s ears perked up and swiveled towards Alex, who had been sitting in the corner of the room and watching nem type away at their console. The Terran had seemed content to spend this work cycle just monitoring Thirtytwo in neir duties, and if ne hadn’t been used to this by now, it probably would have been more than a little anxiety-inducing to be stared at by a predator species for so long. With those eerie, front-facing eyes, it was always pretty clear where he was staring.

Alex had been silent until now, just moments after Thirtytwo ended a call with one of the overseers.

“That they call me what?”

The Terran scowled, and Thirtytwo had repress the urge to shrink down against neir seat at the show of disapproval. “Drudge.”

Thirtytwo’s spines raised slightly in confusion, and ne turned in neir chair to fully face Alex. “That is… what I am, though.”

Alex huffed through his nose. “Yeah, but that’s not– you’re an individual, not just some faceless member of…” He seemed uncomfortable with stating the rest aloud. “You know.”

“The serving caste.” It didn’t bother Thirtytwo at all to be referred to by such; it was just a descriptive of what ne had been born to do. It wasn’t quite clear to nem why this subject seemed to agitate Alex so much any time it came up.

“Yeah, that.” The words sounded flat and unhappy through Thirtytwo’s translator. “They won’t even let you have a real name.”

Now ne was really confused. “My designation is Vega-Bluelight-Drudge-32nd-Born-of-24th-Generation.”

“That’s not a name, that’s just saying what you are!"

Alex’s agitation was beginning to affect neir mood as well, triggering an extremely strong flight urge, and ne couldn’t help snapping back at him. “You aren’t making any sense! They’re the same thing!”

“Okay, okay, sorry. Look." He scrubbed a hand through the short, yellowish fur on the top of his head. "My name is Alex, right?”

Thirtytwo's ears flicked. "Alexander Marcus Sullivan Sol.” That had been on the crew briefing that was sent out before Alex had come on board for the first time. Pronouncing it was a little bit difficult, because neir translator didn't pick up those sounds as translatable words. It always seemed odd to Thirtytwo that the Terran's name was just… gibberish.

“Right. Now, do all those words say what I am?”

Thirtytwo’s spines were beginning to soften out of their defense posture. “Sol means… you’re from the Sol system…”

“And the rest?”

“I don’t know.” They seemed to be nonsense words, but ne didn’t want to offend Alex by saying so. “They don’t translate.”

“Where I come from, names aren’t just… a label, so you can be sorted or ordered around. Names are a way to differentiate you from everyone else. They’re a word or combination of words that very specifically mean you.”

"So they're… descriptive words."

"Sort of. They can be. Most Terrans are named by their parents, or whomever raised them. Sometimes it's a traditional family name, or maybe the name of someone else they want to honor. Or sometimes, they pick it hoping that the kid will grow up to have the qualities of their name."

"So… what does your name mean?"

Alex paused for a moment, then shook his head. "Actually, hold on a minute." He picked up the datapad he'd brought in with him earlier and started tapping away. Probably accessing one of those databases only the higher castes had access to. "Alex is short for Alexander, meaning 'defender of men'," he read aloud.

"So… a warrior? That sounds like a caste assignment."

Alex shrugged. "That's just a coincidence. My dad was an agricultural laborer, Mom ran the transport for the company Dad worked for, and Tati stayed home and watched the kids. I was the only one that took military service, the others chose to work with Dad."

"And Marcus?"

"Eh…" Alex scrolled on his pad, was quiet a moment, then shifted a little in his seat. "It relates to an ancient god of war."

Thirtytwo gave him an unimpressed look. "You're not proving your point, here."

Another one that was supposed to be A/B/O The story of Bai Lan, a young man who wants Mr. Shen, a proud alpha, to be his omega. According to the casting announcement ‘Desire’ will consist of 24 episodes with 45 minutes runtime per episode.

Boys Love Omegaverse (Boys Love Sequel)

Announced for 6/9/2023 but never aired. This seems to just be borrowing the branding and have nothing to do with either BL originals since it's about 4 men in an idol group.

Given the series (remake)

Fuji TV announced and episodic series focuses on Ritsuka as he rediscovers his love for music thanks to Mafuyu. Given the Movie focused on their bandmates, Akihiko-Haruki, and their tumultuous relationship. The storyline for this second film involves Ritsuka temporarily joining Hiiragi and Shizusumi’s band, and the tension that brings to his new relationship with Mafuyu. It will also delve into the relationship between Hiiragi and Shizusumi.

Silkwood and Be On Cloud partnered for this. ‘Wuju Bakery’ was originally scheduled to be released in 2024, but changes in the production house’ schedule showed that it would air sooner in November 2023, and then it didn't. The drama stars Thai actors Jeff Satur and Barcode Tinnasit and Korean actors Dion and Jun In-Kyu (Q) About a spaceship that crash-lands into and destroys a bakery shop. Of course this means the alien and the baker end up living together. At the same time, other aliens-in-hiding all around the city start hunting for them. One of my most anticipated BLs. It sounds SO WEIRD.

This creates tensions at the workplace as Aum realizes he has more than platonic feelings for Nack, forcing Nack to choose between the two.

(Over)Analyzing the Cards in Johnny’s Joker Trick (Part 2)

Part 2 of 2. Here’s the original post for the sake of a more fleshed out explanation and for the Joker/King cards, but to keep it simple this is just for analyzing the cards used for every character in Johnny’s Joker Trick Overdrive to see if there’s any sort of symbolic or spiritual meaning that might be behind the use of that particular card. A lot of this uses cartomancy, which isn’t always as straightforward and clear-cut as something like tarot, but this is jus all in good fun

Queens

Queen of Clubs- Shared between Sol Badguy, Ramlethal Valentine, and Bridget. And, first of all, let’s be real, Sol’s was first and foremost made for the reference. Queen is about 80% of his personality, if they didn’t use a queen card I’m sure he would have come to life and burned down the office. Outside of the Jacks, Sol is the only character who has a card that doesn’t match the character’s gender. Character-wise, Sol and Ram do have a bit of an overlap, being aloof, struggling socially, and having their interests fixate on a few things, but Bridget is a bit of an outlier here. The symbolism varies a lot, but generally is appears to lean into themes of self-confidence and self-reliance, as well as change. That is something that fits all three quite well, being powerful, independent and experiencing life changes (Sol attempting to settle down, Ram discovering more about being alive, and Bridget’s transition). In the Paris pattern, the Queen of Clubs is the only one not directly modeled after a historical figure, only being a generic queenly character. This may indicate a bit more open-endedness, as all three do care about identity and who they really are. In a more literal suite motif, Sol and Bridget do both primarily fight with blunt weapons, which could be seen as a metaphorical ‘club,’ and while Ram has swords, they often remain sheathed in battle instead of revealing the sharp ends.

Queen of Diamonds- Curiously, no character appear to be assigned to this one? Perhaps it is being saved for someone in the future.

Queen of Hearts- Shared between May and Jack-O Valentine. This is one of the more commonly-seen cards in this sort of motif, likely due to its inclusion in Alice in Wonderland. Because of this, it can have some dual symbolism, being a heart card that’s associated with a cruel, loveless, domineering figure. In a more general motif, both characters fit as being associated with romance and tying a lot of their character and plotline towards love and relationships with men (Johnny and Sol, respectively). The Paris pattern has the Queen of Hearts designed after the biblical Judith, a widow who saved Jerusalem by charming and killing a general that had previously sieged her city. Both characters have attempted to take the initiative to save a group of others (May running away from home in Xrd to keep her family from getting sick and Jack-O attempting to stop I-no at the cost of herself in Strive) which may also contribute. Both also command underlings in battle, which may contribute to the overall ‘queen’ motif

Queen of Spades- Shared between Millia Rage and I-no. This card has some symbolism directly from card games, as it is often viewed as being unlucky. It’s also given such flattering names as ‘the bitch’ in seven card stud poker and is often used as the old maid card as well. Both are characters who are frequently commented on for their beauty, yet have complicated issues with relationships in different ways. As a card it also tends to lead towards level-headed intellectualism and practicality, but is often less associated with emotions than the other queen cards. Both characters are often seen as cold and distant, intelligent and capable but lonely and closed off. The Paris pattern is designed after Pallas (Athena), goddess of war strategy and wisdom. In Greek mythology, the ‘Pallas’ epithet likely referred to the goddess’ battle proficiency, as it can be translated as ‘to brandish (as a weapon’) and while it is a fighting game, the two of them narratively encounter a lot of conflict with others

Jacks

Jack of Clubs- Shared between Axl Low, Anji Mito, and Sin Kiske. Jack cards, in general, tend to have less symbolic meaning, but the Jack of Clubs tends to mention witty intellect and memory. All three characters are defined by personal memories that they treasure, though to varying degrees, and have a playful, trickster wit to them at times. It can pertain to luck and charisma that may also prove dangerous, and, at the very least, Anji does tend to his his glib words to cause trouble. On a note of consistency, Sin is of the same suite as Ky and Sol, making them collectively a three-card straight flush

Jack of Diamonds- Shared between Nagoriyuki and Giovanna. Curiously, both are newcomers to the series. This card tends to have an association with messages and messengers, which in a meta sense may refer to the newness that they bring to the game. There also seems to be repeated mention of a lack of loyalty and an unfaithful assistant, which could fit both in Giovanna’s blase attitude towards her work and Nagoriyuki’s role as an unwilling underling to Happy Chaos.

Jack of Hearts- This card has the most people sharing it, being a four-way appearance between Faust, Goldlewis Dickinson, Testament, and Asuka R. Kreutz. This one also has a lot of heart-based themes similar to the King and Queens, often mentioning traits like kindness, good intentions, and sincerity. Though all four of them vary in many ways, their characters tend to involve sincere intentions towards others, though it might not always pan out the way they would have hoped (especially for Asuka). All four are definitely willing to show their emotions, especially when it comes to trying to bond with others, such as Faust with Ramlethal, Goldlewis with Bridget, Testament with Dizzy and Johnny, and Asuka with Raven. There is also a poetry motif with the card that depicts the Knave of Hearts as a trickster, and while all four are not necessarily trickster figures, Faust is known for his peculiarities, Goldlewis for his alien causing mischief in fights, Testament for being unpredictable in earlier games and mysteriously surviving several near-death instances, and Asuka being a mysterious and indecipherable problem-causer for most of the series. Also, in another consistency of the suites, Testament shares the heart suite with Johnny and May

Jack of Spades- Held solely by Baiken. Spade cards in general seem to veer towards more aggressive interpretations, and that definitely suits her just fine. It often mentions violence, though there is also mention of intense passion and ruthless determination, which also fit pretty nicely. It also tends to mention riskiness, either in the form of violence or unhealthy habits like drinking. Aside from the Joker and the King of Diamonds, Baiken is the only character to have a card all to herself, which may reflect the solitary nature she held onto for many years. Though, similar to the club and heart suites, she has a connection with Bedman and Delilah in the spade suite.

While I’m not against celebrating traditions within christmas I can’t ever agree that it’s a christian holiday. And I don’t mean this as an attack, I just wanted to share it. But Jesus definitely wasn’t born anytime during winter, and we know for a fact that it originated from a pagan holiday where men gave each other gifts, slept with each other, and beat women.

I can understand people wanting it to be a christian holiday, but when it leads to some children (and even adults) idolizing “Santa”, a name which is eerily similar to Satan and contains song which are arguably a mockery of God, it just doesn’t seem smart in the long run; instead of Santa I’d argue that children should think of God and Jesus. Then it’d really be a christian holiday.

It really isn't pagan, though. People like to say that but it's not true.

Sure the celebrations coincided they weren't related to each other and were their own celebrations from the beginning.

While Christmas didn't really start as a celebration until after the winter solstice celebration had begun, it wasn't started because of the winter solstice or started in attempts in christianize it.

The Dec 25 date also had nothing to do with the winter solstice. Sol Invictus (the pagan holiday) was started in 274 AD and the christian historian Sextus Julius Africanus, who died in 240 AD, had already proposed that Jesus was born on December 25. He had estimated that Jesus was conceived on March 25 so you just have to do the math to know nine months after March 25 is December 25. So while the birth of Jesus didn't start being celebrated until after the winter solstice was a thing, the date of December 25 was already established in christian circles as the date on which Jesus had been born. So if anyone "stole" this from anyone else, the pagans took it from us.

You don't have to celebrate Christmas if you're uncomfortable doing so and there definitely has been attempts to remove God from the celebration but it is a Christian holiday and you can use it to honor and worship God without partaking in the things you don't think are good. God can redeem things.

My current Fantasy High Junior Year theories:

1. Kipperlily has beef with Riz because she immediately clocked him as her biggest competition to be top of the rogue class for their year.

2. Kipperlily has a natural rage that she has internalized into a type A personality with the need to be the best whatever it takes

3. Lucy Frostblade died in an accident caused by Kipperlily’s rage.

4. Kipperlily was found by the roque teacher, the roque teacher is who Kipperlily is working for.

5. Jace Stardiamond is the one using the Devils Nectar Honey either on himself, other teachers or the RatGrinders.

6. Mary Ann’s mango soda is spiked to make her stronger

7. Gorgug is worried that his friends will ditch him if Mary Ann becomes their friend because in his mind you don’t need 2 barbarians and she took him out so obviously they’d choose her.

8. Only Ivy and Oisin are actually friends the rest of the RatGrinders fell out of friendship after their sophomore spring break project.

9. The RatGrinders went to the mountains of chaos in their sophomore year where Kipperlily had an encounter with lore about Ankarna’s corrupted form.

10. Porters family comes from the Mountains of Chaos and were longtime devotees of Ankarna but he doesn’t know the gods name and practices her original tenets.

11. Porters warhammer is the warhammer of Ankarna passed down through generations.

12. Bobby and Buddy Dawn came to Solace to evangelize after Sol and Helio lost followers in the Long Night, and possibly remove Kristen as Helios chosen.

13. Buddy Dawn was requested by the Kipperlily for the RatGrinders because Kipperlily knew it would annoy Kristen which would annoy Riz.

14. Jace Stardiamond is a bored sorcerer who has been doing shady deals under the guise of being an Auegfort professor for years.

15. The rogue teacher found Kipperlily after an unaliving attempt by Kipperlily.

The blessing of a human soul

“Have you ever considered the humans, Second-Wing?”

The two ethereal beings floated gently through the galaxy, though it might be a stretch to call flying thirty to forty times the speed of light to be gentle. The younger being look at his older, trying to remember which semi sentient species his older was referring to.

“Oh yes, the scavengers descended from tree dwelling bipedal-quadrapeds. They were on… Sol-3 correct?”

“That is correct Second-Winged, I visited them recently, I’ve discovered some interesting about their nature. They are like us Second-Winged, though they are also different… they are winged but also flightless, very odd.”

Second-Winged slowed to a stop, entering real space again, while his older sibling stopped next to him. Unlike his older sibling, who was namelessness and had a featureless unblemished orb like form, Second-Winged resembled a hexagonal, yet rounded prism that had no edges but maintained flat uniform surfaces in six ornately patterned faces, with two pairs of wings; one pair was small and protruded from his ‘back’ and the other was large and fanned out, as it protruded from his ‘under belly’ like an enormous rudder to steer in the inky black of space. It still confused him how his nameless older maintained his featureless shape, despite being so much older and more grown than he was; the older siblings lack of features were a clear sign of stunted growth.

“You said the humans were winged yet flightless… are you sure that is what you intended to say?”

“Hmm… is it more accurate to say they are in the process of becoming like us? But seem unable to ascend.”

Second-Winged thought carefully, shifting his wings as he thought. Perhaps he could help his older? If his older was to mature at all, his older would have learn from him, though after all these years it seemed like a hopeless endeavour.

“Very well my older, let's travel to the humans, you can show me what intrigues you so.”

The older’s form began to shift slightly, a pit began to sink from the top of the older’s orb like form. Until it sank all the way through, turning the older into a hoop like ring. With the help of the space bent by his older, second wing slipped through the hoop, coming out the other side in the orbit of human space, his older regaining his orb like shape behind him and closing the self contained wormhole.

Second-Winged eyed the planet, denoting it was a number of varied colours, a nitrogen oxide atmosphere with an oddly distinctive amount of synthetic carbons present in the atmosphere; perhaps the planet had just come out of cold spell. Looking closer he could make up many many humans, but nothing appeared out of place.

“Older sibling, I see nothing off about these mud covered humans. They walk the lands sure, most every place on the planet has a human nearby, but they are only barely attaining ascension, they still rely on the structures of nature to shelter their little forms.”

“Shush Second-Winged, look… there.”

The older sibling’s form shifted slightly as… a large eye took shape on the forward curve of the orb, blinking open as it stared. Somewhat shocked by the odd new feature his older had developed, he looked where his older was staring. He saw a group of humans, building a small ornate shrine next to their small shelter, as Second-Winged began to feel a soft warmth wash over him and his older, as the feelings of a mere humans wishful intentions began to invade his mind.

“What- what did the humans just do?”

He scrambled, trying to shield the… ‘prayers’ from his mind.

“They asked of us their true desires.”

Looking to his older- no, it would be more accurate to call him by his new name, Seraphim, second winged could only watch as his older brother spread his wings, many hundreds of thousands of eyes opening along the many hundreds of rings spinning with his original eye at their over lapping centre. The spread wings began to drop dandruff, as the prayers of tens of thousands of humans were granted. As if a fire fed with a tiny droplet of gas, the soul energy practically erupted from the planet, from the earth, pushing Second brother back slightly, as Seraphim stood still, unfazed.

“Human souls are wonderful brother, they have the power to change.”

Fearing for his life now, and terrified at the seemingly hypnotized words of his brother, he ran, as fast as he possibly could, as any sane ethereal ought to.

“Human souls have the power to change, to change themselves, and others.”

The dauntless Seraphim stood watch, as more ‘Angels’ joined him, they were forever changed by humanity, and likewise forever chained to them.

A bit more of a religious idea, the idea that the angels came to us rather than having played part in our creation is interesting to me. This work isn’t a ploy against or for any one religion, even if it goes against whatever you may believe in; it's simply a work of artist freedom to create.
