Original world (long) lore dump!
My first visualisation of the place where souls go after death, before they are ready to be brought into the underworld by the Boatman inspired by the Greek myth of Charon. Most souls who came before the Psychopomp's (inspired by Thanatos) revival have taken residence and formed a community of sorts who stays and helps the regretful souls who wander along the Liminal Pathways move on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Liminal Paths where souls wander through. Those who are troubled by unresolved issues easily get lost in the infinitely winding path, while the residents who have long since come to terms with their circumstances will take a leisurely stroll around the paths, never getting lost as their minds stay clear. Sometimes residents will meet lost souls trapped in the paths and help guide them through their obstacles.
These are inspired by liminal spaces, which are places where one is not supposed to stay at for too long like shopping malls, corridors, staircases, swimming pools, etc. Since this is the Border where souls await the boatman to take them into the underworld, I thought it would be fitting to represent that through liminal spaces as most souls are not meant to reside there, but to move on to their next destination.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Boats of Leisure and a Raft, perfect for souls to go sightseeing. Boat tours are great as they allow a clear view of the ever-shifting Planes of Liminality and the never ending Paths, allowing the viewers to never truly become bored of its sights. Soft yellow flowers seem to follow these water vehicles, but also be generated by the water ripples, creating a magical trail of flowers. More flowers bloom when the Boatman is near, due to his abilities relating to life.
A Giant Blue Dragon swims in these waters. Fear not, it is friendly and loves the flowers.
Tumblr media
The Performers are people who go to the Border to entertain the souls there. They can come from both the Outside and Underworld, they are usually brought in by the Boatman or Psychopomp through an exchange program created by the World. Performances can be anything which is visual (magic, dance, song, etc.) or can entertain such as comedy skits or plays (souls can express emotion, and if they laugh, you'll know).
Tumblr media
The Keeper is one who cares for all things living in the Border. They are easily recognised by their flaming robes and calming energy as they attend to their tasks of feeding the fishes, keeping the water temperature suitable for the Blue Dragon, checking up on their friend under the land, among other things. They can use his fishing rod to move the water around, creating flowers for the creatures to feed on. They have quite the sense of humour once you get to know them. Ask about their story and maybe you'll know some trivia about the World's history.
Tumblr media
The World is here to greet some old friends of theirs. Seems like some older friends may be due for a visit soon.
Tumblr media
The Psychopomp (the grey one with wings) is bringing souls over to the Boatman for transport into the Underworld. The Boatman (the blue one with swirls) brings life wherever he goes, and has a title corresponding with that aspect. The boats can phase through solid things and move through the water without much resistance.

Storm Na’vi
Tumblr media
My original subspecies of Na’vi. Taysaba, the Olok‘Eytan of the Hycernian tribe and his soon to be Thsahik, Sheol. Native to the dunes, tundras, steppes and Mediterranean coasts, these Na’vi are unlike the others and not to be trifled with. They gain their name by riding through powerful desert storms.

I depth, detailed lore will be posted soon.

FLUTTERSTARS
I learned of the existence of Sea Butterflies today and immediately decided I needed them to exist in The Reaching Isles in some way.
Flutterstars can be found active both during the day and night. They are awake for short periods of time and take regular tiny naps instead of long rests like most animals. At night, these creatures light up an organ within their shell and twinkle in large groups like stars. Their light isn't very bright because of the thickness of its shell, but some of its brightness can be reflected by its soft, translucent body.
Unlike larger creatures in The Reaching Isles, Flutterstars "fly" by floating on the thinner energy fields flowing through the air. These energy fields are too thin and light for most creatures to stand on and instead feel to them like a soft breeze does to us. Smaller creatures like the Flutterstar however can use these fields with ease.
Flutterstars feed on nectar, fungi, rotting tissue (both animal and plant) and other sweet things.

Available as a print and sticker set this month only (November 2023) on my Patreon for Professional Napper patrons and above :)<3
As a warning, this month’s lore deals pretty heavily with death and trauma, and has mentions of war (in the past).
Shadowlings and No Magic Zones lore:
If you find yourself in a place where traces of humans are slowly being reclaimed by nature, marked by a glaringly red and yellow coloured sign that says “NO MAGIC” on it, odds are you’re standing at the site of an old battleground from the Long War.
No matter where you go, if there are humans around, you can likely find a no magic zone there too. And the reason magic is disallowed in such places is because they are the dwellings of the Shadowlings, who are said to be soldiers that fell to a curse in the war, and hence harbour very negative emotions towards those who use it. Fear, anger, grief… And all explosive feelings at that. They aren’t exactly capable of rational thinking anymore, so it’s best not to upset them, especially since they tragically harbour a lot of the Wild Magic they resent so much, and can be incredibly dangerous while emotional.
Because of their experiences that live on inside them, it doesn't matter that magic has now become a good and necessary force in human society, or that magic folks and humans have both done equal amounts of good and bad.
Using magic in their presence truly can only be done at the risk of your life for most people, and the exceptions to that rule can be counted on the fingers of just one hand.
However if you do not provoke them, they are completely harmless and very gentle - loving even.
Being a Shadowling is leading an existence that hovers between life and death, unable to participate in life, but also unable to move on from it. And yet a Shadowling is not quite a ghost either.
As newly turned, most Shadowlings retain an almost human shape, but they slowly begin lose their shape and memories with the passage of time, except for a few exceptions who hold onto them as much as possible for the sake of their loved ones.
Still, they know instinctively that they were once humans and therefore tend to seek them and their warmth out as much as possible. In the absence of humans though, they feel the safest around human-made objects that have been left behind in the zone, and with each other. Shadowling are rarely alone, instead they tend to huddle together in big groups where they do their best to comfort each other and help each other hold onto their memories, and dream of the day they’ll be able to return to humanity.
For quite some time after the end of the war, those who lived on would take care of the Shadowlings and the areas in which magic was forbidden. After all, no matter how unrecognisable they had become, they were still people’s beloved family members, lovers, and friends. And if you look into their eyes, regardless of how much they have lost, you can still see and know who they were in life.
But time is ruthless to us all, and the last living generation who survived the horrors of the war has grown old and started to disappear. For some time, their descendants would take care of the no magic zones instead, but the vast majority of these places would slowly become completely abandoned with the introduction of magic in human society.
And so, the Shadowlings kept getting more and more shapeless and wispy, clinging to the traces of humanity they can find in items that were left behind and the occasional visitor.
Few people visit these days. And even fewer still are visitors who still do not have traces of magic on them or aren’t afraid of the Shadowlings.
But maybe one day, as long as there is hope, maybe one day their curse can be lifted.
And until then, the Shadowlings will find ways to keep existing and experience joy and love even with all that they have lost.

I promised myself I would post everything related to my story here, no matter how disappointed I am with the outcome, so here we go.
Tumblr media
Their soul gets split into three fragments at the end of the Prologue. -Kato
Tumblr media
He falls asleep after draining himself by using all his power to create the new world. -Halcyon
Tumblr media
He bonded himself to the underworld to stabilize the new world from the underside so it wouldn't collapse. -Basile
I can feel my redraw list getting longer, but I'll forgive this one since there was a time limit and it's not my usual style (it is but there are not enough lines/detail I need MORE).

Hey folks! This post is the post regarding the lore of each of the 'races' currently in WHTPA ! If you'd like to read the first post I made about the lore, please check it out here! Same as before, all lore will be under the cut!
So before going in depth about the 'races', I should explain why I'm putting quotes around the word! For my lore, I'm really using 'race' in a way DnD or other TTRPGs may use it, where things like robots and other inorganics are considered as such. There are distinct human races in the story, though they are completely different to the races of Earth, so while humans look like they do here, they will have different names, cultures and languages, due to the differences between Ezex and Earth ! That being said, lets get into it!! Humans
Humans are one of the main eight races in the current lore of Ezex, and are as you expect, at least visually! There are cases of humans having traits from other 'races' (for a variety of reasons) but for the most part, they are as you imagine, with little differences to this Earth visually! Necrobots
The Necrobots are essentially humans brought back to life by mechanical means, in a Frankenstein's Monster type of way. A family member or loved one can sign a form, giving the Hawkes Corporation permission to graft skin and hair the best they can to the robots and “rebuild” the loved ones, giving them “renewed life”. There are still a lot of flaws in the Necrobots. A lot of them come back with trouble processing thoughts or emotions, lost memories, or in some cases experiencing intense and untameable agony. There have been issues in the past, especially with the first Necrobot, or Proto Necrobot as he is sometimes referred. Dolls
Dolls are entirely inorganic clockwork creatures, most commonly made of porcelain, but also made of brass, copper, gold, wood, glass, and plastic. They do not need to eat or sleep, and can not feel physical touch, though many of them engage in these activities for their own enjoyment. Dolls were originally designed and created by Lady Juliette Howlett (he/him), though are now more frequently made by Lady Howlett & Co Dollmakers, a company Lady Howlett runs, but is not directly in the product line of unless it is regarding new material for the Dolls. Vampyres
Vampyres are a race of energy and emotion feeders. No one knows where they came from, but considering they are yet to cause many problems, no one really questions them or their motives. Originally thought to be the vampires of Ezex myth (hence the name they have adopted), Vampyres feed not on blood, but on intense emotions or on the energy around them, most often steam energy. They are very similar to humans, though they can have nonhuman aspects, such as claws, pointed ears, and unnatural eye colors. Lycanthrope
Lycanthrope are a race of animal like folk, often with more hair on their bodies, tails, pointed ears, padding on the feet and hands, claws, unnatural eyes, and fangs. Commonly canine in appearance, though coming in many different shapes, Lycanthrope originally hail from Ivorham and Meckburn, some of the colder parts of Ezex. Lycanthrope are known to be faster, have more sensitive senses of hearing and smell, and tend to hold heat more than most other races do. They speak a language called Lycan Tongue. C.H.A.Ps and B.L.O.K.Es
C.H.A.Ps, or Collection and Helper Automaton Pals, are robots built by Cogsworth Robotics to help those who aren’t able to help themselves (disabled, the elderly, young children ect) and are built to do little tasks like getting food, delivering packages,  getting clothes and things of that nature. B.L.O.K.Es are similar, but are more personal, around the house helpers, built to do more heavy duty tasks like Gardening, cleaning and house repairs. It is generally accepted that if a C.H.A.Ps or B.L.O.K.Es shows up to collect something for the person they are helping without funds that you hand off the goods anyway.
Peacekeepers
Not much is known about the Peacekeepers. Organic or inorganic, from Ezex or not, all that is known about the Peacekeepers is that they showed up in many of the major cities one day, dubbed themselves Peacekeepers, and starting protecting the people of Ezex.

💙⚡Blue the Thunder/Electricity Core⚡💙 | Portal 3 OC
+ DO NOT STEAL/REFERENCE THE EYE DESIGN!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
+ Blue is well-known for being extremely chaotic, impulsive and energetic. His nervous behaviour and powerful electric abilities are two main strengths of him. He's also the servant of Zamath, the God Core.
+ Blue got created by Aperture Science but never got turned on until Chell and Wheatley activated all the electricity of the facilities. He exploded in rage causing several damage to one of the most important places of the laboratories. Cave Johnson explained the reasons why Blue should never be activated: due to his almost supernatural electric powers, Blue is totally capable of absorb the power of the whole world and use it under his will, even to attack and kill thousands of countries.
Blue is abandoned. He never had friends because of his rage issues, impulsive behaviour and powerful will of causing chaos with his electricity. He doesn't know what love and understanding means. He's just full of rage, hatred and resentment because of the abandonment. He hates his creator. He hates everybody, even the turrets. He loves chaos and disaster. His temper was never cool nor good for humans and other robots. Even Wheatley was a victim of one of his attacks. Fortunately he managed to dodge his attacks.
+ It is NEVER a good idea to wake him up or make him get angry. The consequences are bloody, catastrophic and pretty dangerous. His main rivals are Spike and Speed Core.
+ Any kind of fanart or gift is highly appreciated. Support and like for more. Ty! <3

Candyfolk lore
Tumblr media
TW for discussions of illness symptoms
What are Candyfolk?
Candyfolk are beings ( that can be human, beastmen, merfolk, fae, cy-bugs. etc) who have had their DNA altered due to eating candy that grew in the glace duchy. Most of the time humans mainly refer to themselves as candyfolk while other species will use their previous name to identify but it is not always the case, just preference.
Where did they come from?
In terms of how many different species settled in the Glace Duchy, the Cy-beings (or when they had not evolved from cy-bugs) settled on the continent a long time ago as a weak colony that was kicked out from the greater hive in the Green Wasteland. They settled in the center of the continent near the volcanoes and mountainous regions.
The Humans were dropped off on the continent as punishment for starting a coup against the king in a foreign nation(this could have been around the medieval period in our timeline for reference). They settled more so on the coastline but eventually intermingled with the cy-beings.
As for the beastmen, their presence in the Glace duchy is quite new. Due to what the records say as a dip in the quality of life in the Savanna slums many beastmen were given the opportunity to change citizenship with the Glace Duchy and start anew. This worked out well for the Candyfolk beastmen,Glace Duchy government and the Kingscholar family.
It is unknown when the candy-merfolk showed up on the strawberry milk coasts of the glace duchy. Some argue that they may have been the first ones to settle before the cy-bugs arrived.
What is this Disease?
Even in the modern age both scientists and mages alike are unsure of how candy mutation even exists. According to many studies mutation occurs when any living organism eats an organic piece of candy that naturally grew out of the candy soil of the duchy. Depending on the type of candy consumed, symptoms can vary.
Tumblr media
What are the Stages?
Let us use the story of the red velvet baroness’ mutation as an example. When she first ate a piece of red velvet cake there were no visible signs, just the mention of a slight increase in adrenaline and dopamine.
Later it was said that in the next five hours the young baroness began to feel very fatigued, she started to show physical symptoms of said fatigue however she also started to show the signs of a fever and was soon rushed to a local hospital in the duchy.
As the doctors realized that the baroness was mutating there was nothing they could do to reverse the painful process. All that could be done is bide time hoping that the baroness's pain of her cells heating up and cooking each other would eventually end.
Thankfully for the baroness it did, and she successfully mutated, the odds of a successful pastry-based mutation are usually low in numbers but other things like age, diet and family illnesses can have a profound influence as well. The only thing now the baroness needed to do was receive therapy due to the mental trauma she experienced during the transformation.
