it's weird how little monsters there are that are warped versions of mammals compared to all the warped reptilians and insects that exist. Real shame that concept art Clover stayed merely as concept art. I mean, just look at it!

it's a perfect mix of familiar and unfamiliar, it looks so lumbering and slow out of water but so utterly unstoppable. it's such a good design that it's a real shame that it's fated to stay this drawing. imagine a moose, bear, boar, or elephant twisted in that way! it'd be great!

The World's Mightiest Bug (Credits and Additional Information underneath the break!)

Special thanks to Rise for making a model of my character!

I commissioned them last summer and finished around my birthday! They did a great job of translating my little bug guy into 3D

(They were actually the second person to take a crack at this character because the first guy got into massive debt and was unable to finish it. I couldn't be provided with a refund so lol) They also made the rig quite flexible and very rubber hose-like, which makes it great to do some stylish poses

Additional thanks to @avengedog for helping me out with sketching out the head and figuring out how to make it work in the third dimension.

He was also the big inspiration for the new boots, as well!

He drew me this art of Kaiju a while back and I dug the footwear he made up. It was one of those design additions that I felt completed the character's design and something I plan to keep moving forward.

Finally, here's the unedited render that was done for the main piece up there!

So… That Captain Laserhawk show was really facinating but… Also strange! Im still feeling baffled about how they portrayed Rayman in this show! But hey! Like how they did! And speaking of Rayman, of course the rabbids made an brief apperance in some episodes but they portayed them as “Interdimensional Kaijus” that lived in the same dimension as him. Of course it was a short apperance. But hey! I think the designs of the rabbids in the show is pretty cool!

So of course to get into my halloweeny mood, I decided to draw my lovely rabbids oc that I haven’t drawn in a while as a Kaiju from the Captain Laserhawk universe! I decided to try out drawing with red ink this time to fit the colors more.

Here’s an bio for what would she be like in this AU!

“A kaiju from Dimension X, she’s not like the others. And she dosen’t like destroying stuff as she rather be a freindly creature who likes trying through other universes and just explore the world. She’s actully very small compared to other Kaijus, like the size of a pet. When being threaten she runs away and hides in saftey, as she’s very timid and gentle. She likes bright lights, beautiful cityscapes, ribbons and bows, and sweets.”

Context: Ive got a story of people transforming into kaiju and have been agonizing over one of the main characters’ monster forms. I’ve decided to go with the 1st design, but I figured it was still worth it to show the other that I had in mind.

Both are semi based off Godzilla. First one has atomic breath but also can bash opponents with its skull like a giraffe

KAIJUNE DAY 18: Hammer

It came to crush.

The Dead Man's Hand was insane.

What was clear from the absolute unholiness of its form was that this was made from people. The area around the mausoleum - the poetic name for the yawning pit we used for the failed experiments of the Engine - was a mess. The land had crumbled into the gigantic hole when the Dead Man's Hand had hauled its horrific form out.

The scream was a million voices as it sped off into the darkness like a mountainous half formed rat. 

The fight in the hills had devolved into a days long game of gigantic cat and mouse, Cassowary’s lethality meant that it could rebuff the attacks of the Flying Jaws and the exhausted Hunter Killer and Krakenwulf could barely present a threat. It could not close on any to finish the job without the wounded Living Artillery being finished off so they retreated desperately. When the Dead Man’s Hand loped onto the scene wailing like the doom of all men - every one of them turned and fled. 

It was a humbling thing to see a mountainous monster shudder in fear. To see its towering legs quiver.  To hear a screech not of unfathomable rage but a keening whistling whine of discomfort. A days long war of flesh and blood and Ichor and fire, and the Dead Man’s Hand sent them all reeling.

We could not fathom what our answer would be to this thing, we could force as many “volunteers” as we liked into the Engine, if the control implants couldn’t force them to fight then what use were they to  face this new nightmare?

Our enemies however were faster to their answer.

The next day the Dead Man’s Hand was at the shore, wailing its terrible chorus into the waves.

And larger than any titan before the Hammer rose from the depths.
