I'm making a Mina costume for Halloween and while the generally accepted year Dracula takes place in is 1893 based on weekdays (but ignoring the phases of the moon, according to some critics), what if I picked a somewhat heretical year like 1899? It has the same days of the week. Why would I do that? ...I just like the skirt shapes better. I wouldn't dare touch 1905, since the story states it takes place "here in London in the nineteenth century”, but I can't resist a bit of artistic licence. Mostly because I want to reuse the skirt. Do you know how much fabric skirts take? It's obscene!
