A painfully long slumber

Genre: slight angst then fluff

A tanjiro kamado and hashibira inosuke x reader

A/n: i didn't want to do 4 characters at the moment since this is me trying to get back into the groove after hitting another rough patch on this platform. Chose these 2 because of their reactions! Thank you so much nat for helping me choose and thank you anon for requesting! Requests are still open by the way so please don't be shy with requesting anything! Without further ado, let's get this angst fest started.

Tanjiro kamado

This cinnamon roll survived grueling training with mr. Urokodaki while his sister slept for 2 years straight.

His sister almost killed him when she turned.

But even though he knows the pain, it doesn't hurt any less to see you in a coma in the butterfly estate.

Kanao did tell tanjiro she got hit in the head too hard.

He would stay by your side, doing the same thing he did for nezuko. He wrote in journals so when you do wake up, you would see his progress.

When he was notified you were awake, he ran to the estate as fast as he could with the journal.

When he found out you couldn't remember anything, he was devastated.

He handed you the journal and just sat next to you.

He let you have your space the next couple of weeks so you could at least remember who you are.

He wouldn't force you to remember.

He would stay quiet in the room, watching you read the journal or watch your breathing as you slept.

Nezuko would join him at times and watch you for him while he took a few hours of rest.

You were halfway through the book when everything just... shattered.

'i love you (y/n). Get better for me.'

All your memories hit you all at once.

You called out for tanjiro, he raced over and engulfed you in the biggest hug he could muster.

Nezuko was also overjoyed.

He got his baby back and that's all that matters.

Hashibira inosuke

Inosuke felt so alone while waiting for you to wake up from your coma.

He was tense for most of the time. He would shout and get angry more easily.

When you do wake up and you don't remember who you are, he would try to push you to remember it.

"I'M INOSUKE! YOUR BOYFRIEND! DON'T YOU REMEMBER??" he would shout, tears coming out of his mask.

When he starts to see you, shaking with fear at his tone. He immediately quiets down and sits next to you and cried.

He didn't move out of that seat for a few hours.

He slept there most nights.

It was a silent sign that he was there for you and he was sorry for shouting.

He woke up one day to see you staring at his formal sleeping figure with tears in your eyes.

"inosuke? Inosuke! I remember now!" she shouted with glee, tears of joy flowing down your cheeks.

Inosuke jumped onto the bed and hugged you tight, letting his stray tears flow.

You never left his sight the rest of the month.
