For month 3 (out of 6) of my self-imposed challenge of reaching semi-fluency in Persian, I've decided to switch up how I post. I see a tutor almost every week and I usually have to do a written and oral assignment that we typically go over together at the start of session. So, I'll be posting my written assignments with corrections from my tutor in pink as well as vocabulary to go with the lesson/writing sample and any grammar points I learned. The selfish reason for these posts is that it is a good review for me. I also figured it can be a good way for other learners to learn from these mistakes too. This is a paragraph I wrote in early March in response to a prompt about comparing how the year is organized in different cultures:

سال آمریکا و سال فرانسه همان مثل هم هستند. آنها سال گرگوریان را استفاده می کنند. سال در ماه بهمن شروع می شود. معمولا، در فصل تابستان، مدرسه تعطیل است. در آمریکا، تعطیلات از تعطیلات فرانسه زودتر شروع می کنند شود و تمام می کنند شود. در آمریکا، تعطیلات می تواند از زود از اوایل اردیبهشت شروع شود. اگر در اردیبهشت شروع شود، معمولا در شهریور تمام کند می شود. گاهی، بستگی به سال دارد، می توانند حتی در پایین اواخر مرداد تمام کنند شود. این از فرانسه مختلف با فرانسه منفاوت است. در فرانسه، تعطیلات معمولا در نیمه خرداد شروع می شوند و تا پایین آخرشهریور یا زود اوایل مهر تمام نمی کنند شود.

Grammar

A lot of my errors were using کردن instead of شدن for "to start". I learned that using کردن is an active construction and usually used when people start something not when something begins.

I was also using words I knew for "late/low" and "early" that were mostly direct translations to describe "first/last [days] of ...". It's better translated as "اوایل /اواخر"
