Ok ok I changed my mind
Kiyo bully’s rantaro constantly (and affectionately. That’s how they show their love)
Example
Kiyo handing out everyone their food
Kiyo: and then Rantaro, you can have breasty
Rantaro: I don’t get dinner?
Kiyo: you can eat cat food
(They obviously ended up giving him dinner lol)
Every time rantaro wears sandals Kiyo tries to step on his toes which often ends up in rantaro throwing Kiyo
Kiyo constantly tries to headbutt him as hard of possible which they rarely go through with. Rantaro just holds their face so that they don’t lmao (except one time Kiyo actually did lmao)
Kiyo will just randomly try to punch him. They always miss lmao
They make so many empty threats lmao
Rantaro doesn’t bully Kiyo back tho. He just endlessly teases them.

How their relationship gets revealed (iii)
Characters: Akaashi, Oikawa, Sakusa, Tsukishima, Ushijima
Category: fluff
Tumblr media
Akaashi Keiji
You’re a best-selling novelist and incredibly famous
Akaashi has been your editor for 3 years now
He’s such a hardworking and dedicated worker
You buy him a lot of presents and he does as well
Constant uploads onto social media with new gifts and meals together
Which happens a lot because you need constant feedback and reviews
And so your readers kind of ship you with him
Lightly, like “Y’all are cute together” and “I wish I have this kind of support”
They don’t actually think you’re together and also don’t want to force it on you
But little do they know that you’ve been dating for over a year now
Because Akaashi is:
1. Kind and caring
2. Really hot/pretty
3. The gentlest person you’ve ever met and
4. Is incredibly professional and can separate work from personal feelings
5. Just look at him
He confessed his feelings for you after your last book sold over a million copies
Because he was drunk after the celebration
But you also liked him and a new relationship was born
Mainly kept on the down low because it’s just easier
You and him both have meddling people around you
But feelings grew day by day
And you desperately want everyone to know your boyfriend is such a wonderful and amazing partner like scream it from the top of your lungs
And so a new book was made
In the dedications page, you wrote “To my other half, thank you for taking care and loving me”
Reader are surprised at the relationship update
But are super happy for you even though they don’t know who it is
The book is a really sweet and cute novel
Readers think it sounds kind of familiar for some reason…
And at the end of the book, it says “To Akaashi Keiji”
(Turns out it was loosely based on yours and his relationship)
The reading community is flipped and your book reaches bestsellers in record time
Oikawa Tooru
Oikawa comes to Japan for a match against the Schweiden Adlers
His return was met with thousands of fans and plenty of photographers and reporters
Every one of his fans were saying how much they love him and hope he wins
And tons of gifts are given left and right
He gives his ever-so charming smile and gracefully accepts them
An interviewer asks him what he missed most in Japan
He rattles off a list
“My family, my friends—Iwa-chan isn’t here though—Japanese food. There’s this wonderful ramen place in my hometown! I also have to see Mattsun and…”
The reporter smiles and nods to his replies
His fans are screaming how they’ll buy anything he wants in the background
He thanks them but that just makes them scream louder
Then his face goes soft, like he’s remembering a really happy thing
“...but I missed [Name]-chan the most.”
The reporter’s eyes widens along with all his fan’s
Even hardcore, and I mean hardcore, fans didn’t know about this
“They’ve been supporting me so much and it’s been ages since my last visit… I just want to see and hug them.”
His small smile is so full of love and affection, even a blind person could see he’s in love
They had zero idea he was in a committed relationship
Most of his fans scream that they hope he has a good relationship
(He ignores the ones that are shrieking“No!”)
Photos of you with him are uploaded after he wins against Schweiden Adlers
He’s smiling like the sun in every single one of them
Sakusa Kiyoomi
Sakusa hates interviews and reporters
Because they keep sticking microphones, which is covered with theirs and everyone else’s germs, into his face
And expect him to be polite when he’s so uncomfortable
So he has a reputation for being a little (read: extremely) difficult for post-match interviews
Nearly everyone had given up
And then all of a sudden, he’s actually civilised in interviews
Like, answering questions and even smiling a little
Everyone’s thinking
“Is he okay?”
“What’s happening?”
“Oh god he’s finally lost it after being in a team with 3 crackheads #PrayForSakusa2020”
In reality, it’s because you’re the one interviewing him
He doesn't want to do it for anyone else, but you insisted that he has to
And now he responds to other reporters as well (albeit incredibly unwillingly)
But he only smiles for you
Fans start noticing after 3 – 4 interviews
“Is it me or is Sakusa really nice when that reporter asks him”
“No I noticed as well”
“DOES HE LIKE THEM ASDISJDW IS MY BOY IN LOVE”
“WHY IS EVERYONE DATING OR IN LOVE WHEN I’M SO ALONE”
After a match, you finish a live report which people can chat on (just say there is one)
It’s in a sheltered place so currently not a lot of people are around
And he doesn't walk away, just keeps standing there
He thinks the camera is off now, and so do you
But is isn’t it’s still on and going live
You’re about to pack up and walk away
But a small tug stops you
It’s Sakusa and the people are going wild because holy shit, is Sakusa actually touching someone??? Our clean freak?? Are my eyes deceiving me??
You take his hand (“What the hell?”) and softly ask “Kiyo? What’s wrong?” (“DID THEY SAY KIYO UGH CARDIAC ARREST”)
He mumbles about how he doesn’t want you to talk to his teammates, even for the sake of interviews (“IS SAKUSA JEALOUS??? OUR DETACHED BOY???”)
You giggle and ruffle his hair, kissing him over the mask (“I AM FAINTING CALL 119”) while saying you need to do your job
And then look over to the cameraman
Whose jaw is on the floor
And you can see the red blinking light from the camera
“Ah, shit”
Tsukishima Kei
His teammates (*cough* Koganegawa *cough*) outed him on social media
You were working overseas and came back after months
The day coincided with a practise match, but Tsukishima was able to excuse himself
So you’re having the time of your life with your saltTM
He’s actually a really nice and sweet boyfriend underneath all that salt and sass
Even made a date course to explore the city
Had a good lunch and some strawberry shortcake in his favourite bakery
You enjoy it immensely, so he was smiling secretly
But then his phone starts blowing up for some reason
When he checks it, there are thousands of questions flooding his messages and social media
Turns out Koganegawa slipped up
He was doing an Instagram Live and when someone asked where Tsukki was
Did he come up with a good excuse?
Nope, he immediately said “Oh, he’s out on a date!”
Everyone’s confused because our salt has a partner?? Since when??
And then he realises he screwed up, especially with how private Tsukki is
The only thing stopping the exposed boy from returning to the gym and throwing hands with the setter is you
You kept saying it’s fine and it’s okay
He reluctantly gives up on planning his revenge (not really though)
You distract him enough to go to the museum he’s going to be working at
And he later uploads a photo of you from behind while you’re reading a dinosaur’s description
(And a separate one where Koganegawa is in a dogeza pose)
Ushijima Wakatoshi
Schweiden Adlers won another match
Ushijima answers interviews, like he does every match
One particular reporter asks the root of his energy and passion
They expected an answer like “thirst for success” or “pride and honour” or something along those lines
But he smiles softly, which breaks everyone watching because they have never seen that before
But the next thing breaks them even more
He says “[Name], my spouse.”
His teammates knew about you but not everyone else
People are spitting their drinks out and absolutely flabbergasted
Even his own teammates because he didn’t seem like the person to say that
He says it’s your first anniversary as a married couple
But he’s overseas so he can’t be with you today
Says that he sent a present and he hopes you’ll like it
Then bows and just walks away to change
Like he hasn’t said the most scandalous thing since the start of his career
Tons of articles and Twitter posts are made about him and this new revelation
To the point where it’s trending #1
He doesn’t care though, and you really don’t either
It wasn’t that big or important of a secret
He just didn't mention it up to now because he didn’t see the need
He doesn’t have to publicise the extent of his love for you because you already know that
The present was a brand-new, top of the line laptop along with a new phone
The same brand as his (awww couple items)
So that he can FaceTime/video call you with HD quality
His teammates have to listen to him being sickeningly cute every night now
And complain about it on interviews
#BestHusbandUshijimaWakatoshi starts trending

A merry little christmas
Iwaizumi x Fem!Reader
Summary: Durring the holidays all of Iwaizumi, Oikawa, Matukawa and Hanakami gathered around with their former teamates, but you, their former manager have been pretty quiet for the past two years. Nothing would go wrong if the main four just happen to come to your home unanounced, right?
word count: 2K +
warnings: some angst? some crack? fluff ending! and bad spelling
On a winter day, Iwaizumi Hajime had been contacted by Oikawa Toru of his sudden holiday arrival and had to pick him up at the airport. “You couldn’t call someone else to pick you up?” He teased, bringing his best friend into a hug. “No one else had answered the phone but you Iwa.” The two laughed into the hug, knowing for fact that, that was not true. “How’s Brazil?” Iwaizumi asked his best friend. “Good! Miss her already. It way to cold in Japan.” Iwaizumi rolled his eyes, “I told you, don’t know why you thought a long sleeve and shorts would be a good idea.” He patted Oikawa on the back and pushed him towards his car, “Come on, lets get going, i’m freezing my balls off here.” Oikawa winced at his words, “How vulgar...” He noted before climbing on the passanger seat.
Oikawa arrived late on the 23, meaning that the next morning they would get ready to celebrate christmas. “What are our plans for tonight?” Oikawa asked, blow drying his hair in the bathroom, as Iwaizumi got dressed in his room. “Matsukawa and Hanakami arranged some kind of reunion with the team, we are heading to a bar tonight.”
Oikawa nodded, fixing his har to the side, “It better be fancy.”
And fancy it was. By a miracle, Matsukawa was able to get the last private room due to his good looks (or so he says). Iwaizumi patted him on the back and raised a glass for the small christmas miracle.
Meanwhile you raised the last cup that needed to be cleaned at your local bar. Your christmast miracle was that you had a stable job and where able to leave work early today. “Mori- thank you so much for covering for me.” Mori nodded and patter your hair. “Of course y/n, go on and head home for the night and say hello you your little bug for me.” You nodded and quickly handed him a boxed gift and a kiss on the cheek. “Marry christmas Mori!” You called while running out the door to rush home.
“Kiyoshi? Where are you bug?” You locked the door behind you and looked around your small apartment. Kiyoshi peeked his head out of his bedroom and his eyes glistened. “Mommy! You’re early!” He cheered running up full sprint for you to pick him up and twirl him around. “Of course! Mommy need’s to shower first and then she’ll start making dinner, alright?” Kiyoshi quickly nodded and ran into the livingroom where he had seemed to be hanging out in until you unlocked the door. You locked yourself in the bathroom and sighed happily, seeing the smile on Kiyos cute little face was enough to brighten your day. You stripped from your clothes and heated up the water for a second before you got in.
“Thank god.” Oikawa cheered as the appetizers came rolling in. “This looks delicious.” He thanked the cute waitress and winked at her. Iwaizumi rolled his eyes and smacked him behind the head. “What? Y/n-chan isn’t here to tease so I just picked the next big thing.” All of the teams head popped up at the name. “Y/n- where is she to be exact?” Oikawa asked, and all the boy’s kinda tensed up while looking at Iwaizumi. “What arou guys looking at?”
“IWA-CHAN WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY SWEET Y/N?!”
“I didn’t do jack shit!” Iwaizumi barked back before Hanakami cleared his throat. “She’s been hiding from him for the past four years because-” Matsukawa and Kunimi elbowed his hip. “-Ow! Fucking hell-”
“-She has her hands full.”Matsukawa and Kunimi both said at the same time. Iwaizumi raised a brow, what the hell is that supposed to meam? “On christmas? I don’t think so.” Oikawa shook his head and sat up, “Can I get the check please?!” Matsukawas eyes widened and pulled on Oikawas shirt to sit back down, “What are you doing?” He hissed. “Us five are going to see Y/N while the rest enjoy their food, let’s go now.”
Matsukawa and Kunimi both looked at eachother, the knew for a fact that once they got their- Y/N was gonna give them a good scolding.
“Kiyo! Come on, dinner’s ready!” You carried a hot bowl of soup to his little place on the dinner table and he quickly sat down. “Cold soba noodles?” For some odd reason, Kiyo very much liked to have cold soba on the side and then dip his noodles so they arent super hot. “Thank you momma.”
“Of course bug.” You ruffled his dark hair and kissed the crown of his head.
You sat down momentarily before your doorbell rang. You rose a brow, the only person that was supposed to be coming was Kunimi and Matsukawa, but not until later tonight. “Y/n-chan! Open the door!” Oikawa sang from the outside and your heart dropped. “C-coming!”
“Who is it mommy?”
Oikawa and Iwaizumi both rose a brow. “Mommy? Who the hell-”
You swung the door open and smiled, “I’m sorry.” Matsukawa mouthed before giving you a good squeez and slipping past you. “We tried.” Kunimi and Hanakami both muttered, patting you on the back, Kunimi giving your arm a small squeez. “Y/n-chan! Where’s my hug?” You chuckled as he picked you up to twirl you around. “It’s been so long!” You giggled in his ear. “Yeah it has.” The brunett dropped you on your feet and smiled. “You look good, mind if i come in?”
“My home is your home...” Oikawa ruffled your hair leaving you outside the hall with Iwaizumi. The second you had opened the door, he was fasinated by the way you looked. You hair was cleaned up nice and your white sweater dropped close to your chest, complimeting the red necklace you wore. “Hey ‘Waizumi...”
“H-Hi... Hello. It’s been a while.” He tumbled over his words, making you more nervous. He leaned in and gave you a hug. Had your breast gotten bigger from the last time you saw eachother. Iwaizumi fought the urge to squeez you closer to feel you but he could tell that you where a little different. You let go of him and leaned back, “You wanna come in? We go a lot of catching up to-”
“Mommy Uncle Issei is being mean!” You chest thightened before turnign around quickly as if Iwaizumi wasn’t there. “Ah- ah Kiyo, what did I tell you about running.” The little boy that wrapped his arms around your legs peeked up to look at the man who stood in front of your door. “Who’s that?” Kiyo pulled on your jeans before picking him up. “Just a friend bug, come on, ask uncle Kunimi to rough him up, yeah?” Kiyo nodded and pushed himself away from you to jump to the floor and run to Kunimi and then run to punch Issei- before running away giggling and hiding behind Oikawa. “Y/n....”
Your chest tightened again before turning around to see that Iwaizumis eyes followed Kiyo around the room. “How old is he?” He asked, not knowing if he wanted the answer to be what he thought it was. You sighed and leaned against the neerest wall, smiling at Kiyo as he giggled with Issei. “He just turned four in November.” You muttered, “He’s getting really big- and he’s getting really restless too... He’s been running around trying to fight bugs and get ditry at the park.... He uh- he.....” you chuckled at yourself, “He reminds me of his dad...” You glanced at Iwaizumi who was already looking at you. “Four years.” He spoke, you can see that he had already connected the dotts.
“Iwaizumi you where leaving to California I couldn’t have-”
“I-I know.... I get it, I just... I just need some time.”
“Iwaizumi-”
“Merry Christmas, Y/n.” Iwaizumi turned around and walked out down the hall towards the exit, leaving you at the front door. You sighed, rubbing the bridge of your nose before entering the door. “Where’s Iwaizumi?” Matsukawa asked with Kiyo upside down in his arms. “He uh- he left... When running out the door, basically.” You laughed sadly. “I shouldn’t have kept it a secret... I’m so stupid.” The four boys heart sank when you began to lightly sob. Kiyo wiggled in Matsukawas arms and ran to bring his small arms around you, “Mommy don’t cry, it’s christmas! No one cries of christmas!” Slowly Kiyo began to cry, “I- I dont wanna see m-mommy c-cry!” He hiccuped, seconds before you picked him up from the floor. “You really are a sponge for emotions huh, kiyo...” The boy began to cry uncontrollably in your arms. “I’m gonna go talk to him.” Matsukawa informed, ruffling Kiyos hair and then kissing your head. “You don’t have to- I know it’s a lot to take in.”
“Y/n you literraly told me the day you gave birth- I think he’ll be fine.” You shook your head at him and continued to coo Kiyo as he calmed down in your arms. “Would you like to inform me into all of this?” Oikawa asked sitting next to you with a soft smile. “Sure...”
While you told Oikawa your side of the story, Matsukawa watched at Iwaizumi paced back and forth otuside in the cold weather. “Iwaizumi-”
“Four years... Four fucking years Issei... She hid this from me.”
“I know-”
“How could she? Four..... What do you mean, you know?”
“I mean, I knew.... I’ve known.... The whole time.” Matsukawa shoved his hands into his pockets. “Why didn’t you tell me?” Matsukawa scoffed, “How could I? She begged me not too because you where out living the california dream while she stayed at home.” Iwaizumi shook his head, he couldn’t even be mad, he was glad you had him to confide to. “The bugger is a lot like you, so don’t worry, she’s not lying.” Iwaizumi laughed, “I knew the second I looked at the kid... Looks exactly like a replica of me and her... just really small.” He laughed again, crounching down on his knees. “I have a kid... I have a fucking kid.”
“You won’t have a fucking kid or a damn partnert who would love you as much as she would- if you don’t go back into her appartment, and tell her that you want to be apart of that kids life.” Matsukawa said, pointing back at the apartment complex. “What if she doesn’t-”
“Stop right there- Iwaizumi, she was crying the second you left... She still loves you-”
“She loves me?”
Matsukawa looked at him widded eyed, “I didn’t say that-”
“You just said she loves me, not LOVED but loves- two completely different things... She loves me?”
“I swear you’re the stupidist mother fucker alive. God she’s gonna hate me and take away my Kiyo rights but.... She’s been in love with you since highschool and-”
“You knew?”
“Yeah... I knew.”
“Issei, your so fucking lucky I don’t punch you right here- right now.”
“I know.....”
The two of them stood quietly before Iwaizumi pulled him into a hug. “Thank you for taking care of her... I don’t deserve this.” He muettered a Matsukawa scoffed, “You absolutely don’t.... But I’m sure she’s willing to give you a chance.”
Iwaizumi and Matsukawa walked back to the apartment with minimal chatter before they stood back in front of her door. When the walked in, Oikawa, Hanakami and Komori laughed to themselves quietly as you sat in front of the christmas tree with a dead asleep Kiyo in your arms. Matsukawa looked at the three and nodded to them, they caught on and once walking out the door, patted Iwaizumi for some sort of confidense. You turned and caught a glance at Matsukawa before the closed the door, he winked at you and mouthed ‘good luck’ before dashing out.
Iwaizumi slowly made his hay towards you and sat down... “So... He’s my kid?” You lightly glared at him. “Sorry, I- I had to ask.”
“I think you know the answer.”
“Y/n-”
“You don’t have to stay... I know Cali-”
“I’m not going back to California, y/n... And if you’d let me... I’d like to say.”
Your chest thightened up like the first time you saw him at school... His green eyes where inticing as ever. “I’d- I.... I’d like that.” You felt a wiggle on your shoulder. “Does this mean I get a dad for christmas?” Kiyo muttered lazily, rubbing his eyes from being in a deep sleep. “Kiyo! What did I tell you about snooping?”
“Don’t do it... Unless it’s juicy?”
“No Kiyo-”
“What the hell have you been teaching him?”
“That wasn’t me! Matsukawa comes over way too often and teaches him this shit.”
“Shit!”
“NO! KIYO! BAD MOUTH! I’m gonna put soap in your mouth mister!”
“MMMMM... SHIT!”
“Oh god....” Kiyo rushed out of your arms and ran hiding into his room before yelling shit one more time. “I’ll just blame it on Issei...” You laughed, looking back at the christmas tree. “Speaking of Issei... He told me something while he came out?”
“Did he finally tell you that I love you?”
“No he.... What did you just say?”
“I love you? You really didn’t know? I thought I was being blunt in highschool?” Iwaizmi shook his head. “God, you’re so stupid... I hope Kiyo doesn’t have your thick skull.” The two of you sat in silence. “I’m sorry I hid him for so long... If it weren’t for this, I think I would have never told you....” Iwaizumi rose a brow, “Really?” You nodded, “Um... Issei was doing a pretty good job being his dad for the time being..... I think he told Kiyo about you, he just knows how to pretend really well thanks to him...”
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there.” Iwaizumi apologized, reaching out for your hand and kissing your fingers. “I wasn’t your fault... you didn’t know.” You informed, “But I know now and I’m not going anywhere.”
You smiled softly at him as he kissed your cold fingertips again, “Merry Chirstmas Hajime....” A blush crept on his tan skin, it’s been a while since you called him by his first name. “Merry christmas Y/N.”
a/n: definetly didn’t go as planned but I wanted to put something out for christmas :)

If they both survived or lasted longer through the killing game, how do you think will their relationship develop?
ヽ(゜∇゜)ノ o hyuuuuuuuuuuuuuss
If they both survived; making Shuichi, Rantaro and Tenko the survivors. I’d cry tears of joy. In this scenario, Shuichi makes Tenko accept the fact that men aren’t all bad (via her FTEs), using Rantaro as an example of genuinely good guys (which along with the thought of her master being male really kick-start her change in attitude towards males chapt 4+). It’d be slow since they’d be end game but a lot of small moments that make up their friendship. These guys would re-write the game’s story and becoming the new trio. With Tenko and Rantarou giving Shuichi the strength in the end to end DR, and Rantaro opening up to them about his perk and being able to use that to maybe end the game earlier? Haven’t given it much thought BUT!
If they lasted longer in game, however… {Cough, I’m looking at you, Taro} Oh-ho-ho…
This gets rambley…so it’s under the cut hehe~
I would have loved a scene where Shuichi stumbles upon Tenko and Rantaro sparring in the courtyard or dojo, or even his dorm room…
Chapter 2.
The thought of Shuichi walking past Amami’s pixel icon and hearing heavy puffing and suspicious grunting from his dorm room would be the funniest thing in the game. Especially if he attempts to ignore the sounds and escape the dormitories just as the door bursts open with Rantaro dodging another move from Tenko.
I strongly believe physical conflict would ensue between these two because, 1, that’s how Tenko understands her opponent, and I feel like Rantarou’s adventure/survival instinct would kick in and he’d be the only person able to dodge/delay Tenko’s advances, making her {2} more infuriated and pursue a fair fight with him further and {3} grow to understand his character from wanting to challenge his strong resolve and claims of being the opposite of what Tenko assumes of him.
Chapter 3.
After this initial conflict between them, Shuichi would then encounter them sparring in her dojo. There’s tension in the air. It gets personal. Tenko learns just how much Rantaro blames himself for losing his sisters and in a moment of her bewilderment he pins her to the floor and wins the round. Tenko demands a rematch, he refused because it’s nighttime, but Tenko secretly makes plans to spar with him again. It’d be hinted in game whenever Shuuichi sought out Tenko alone mumbling to herself.
By their forth sparring session Tenko stops calling Rantaro a degenerate, it almost goes unnoticed. Thanks to Kokichi/Iruma’s acknowledgement.
When Tenko steps in to ease Himiko and be the victim to Kiyo’s seesaw, Rantaro insists he be the victim, his carefree attitude aiming to show Himiko it’s nothing to be scared over. Tenko refuses, they enter a back and forth that makes Himiko smile and takes the pressure off the séance, so she inaudibly agrees to Kiyo’s demands. When Himiko’s ready, Tenko promises she’ll be waiting for her on the other side with open arms!
Upon finding Himiko’s unmoving body, Tenko refuses to work with anyone. The trial gets emotional.
Chapter 4.
Following Himiko’s death and Korekiyo’s execution. Tenko shuts down. Locks herself in her room and dojo, but Shuichi stumbles upon Rantaro trying to talk some sense into her behind her dojo’s walls. Rantaro challenges her to another spar, and despite her refusal, he manages to get her to crawl out of her cave. During chapt 4 Tenko starts following Rantarou around since he’s a good support system and feels as though he’s the closet friend she has. Shuichi has the option to find them in the game room at nighttime, decks of cards spewed on the table, a half finished game of pool, as Rantaro was in the midst of brushing her hair on the couch as a movie played in the background. He was comforting her. It came naturally. From that night on, every few days Tenko would wear a new hairstyle, seemingly done by Rantaro.
When Rantaro starts neglecting her, she finds Shuichi and asks for his help. They manage to corner him in the warehouse, he becomes very secretive. Tenko becomes offended. When Shuichi tries to talk to him, she pushes some foam mats together and readies an Aikido stance for when Rantaro tries to leave the room. She drags him onto the mats and declares a duel. If he wins, he’s free to leave and she won’t stop him. If she wins, he will be truthful. He shakes his head, muttering something like “I’m sorry Tenko, but I don’t have time for this.” her stubborn actions of dragging him onto the mats 3 times gets an aggravated grunt from him. He discards his shirt, the room swells with emotions. The battle is intense and painful to watch. In their haste, Tenko comes off the mat haphazardly, spraining something, she refuses to retreat. Thus, he does so for her. Exiting the room with an injured Tenko trailing after him and falling to the floor. Shuichi is by her side but Rantaro is no where to be seen.
Kokichi makes a deal with Rantaro. They both want to end the killing game, they’re both growing impatient. Their plan’s elaborate and Kokichi manages to get Rantaro to set most of the pieces in motion while he motivates Miu to fix the mammoth computer. When performing the test run, there’s a malfunction, Rantarou dies because Ouma isn’t able to abort the test. He tried to save him. Rantaro dies by his own hands. Monokuma rules it off as suicide to throw everyone off.
Shuichi needs to defend Ouma against an enraged Tenko. It breaks his heart knowing what he’s doing to her.
Chapter 5.
Tenko comes to breakfast the next morning with everyone’s eyes on her. Her hair unevenly chopped off past her ears. It only served as a bitter reminder of their bond and the things his fingers could do woven threw her hair...
In her state of mourning, Iruma easily convinces Tenko to team up with her to take out Ouma. He’s too dangerous, too much of a wild card. Especially with the Exisals in his possession. Needless to say, they manage to override an exisal, shit ensues, yet Tenko actively seeks out the role of culprit to protect Miu at all costs. She has nothing else to live for expect the life of someone who could potentially change the world.
IDK there’s my 10 cents !
UGH i know it’s cliche but I could see this happening...though I really wanna hear people’s ideas for Tenko dying in the third chapter and Rantarou going awall trying to end the killing game and somehow surviving. With pinches of amacha in chapters 1 and 2 with Himiko running to him to save her from Tenko and acting like Himi’s big bro...yeah, i’d read that.

now im just curious abt rantaros relationships w the v3 cast.... mwahaha spill everything 🦟🦗🦟
hi anon! sorry for taking so log to reply to this, i knew i’d have a lot to say and i didn’t have the spoons to go off until now. FLKDJSFLkj here we go!
hehe! okay. so just as a preface, i’m like. REALLY into rantaro pairings. like. the only rantaro pairings i don’t like all that much are am*cha, rantaro/himiko, amaguuji (sorry lgbt community), and ranmugi. the rest i’m either open to or obsessed with. so like. bear that in mind when you read this.
i’m going to rank rantaro relationships by how much i love them so i can get an order to this (and also so i can do amamota last because i have a lot to say).
rantaro + korekiyo (2.5/10) oh gosh. kiyo, i’m so sorry a dumb bitch like me would do you like this. listen, amaguuji is a good pairing, just, objectively. i used to be super into it. but then the fandom crabwalked all over me with their amaguuji hurt/comfort fics and i got so Tired of seeing rantaro get treated like a security blacket... eugh. amaguuji is a good ship. i have written amaguuji, and would write it again, without prompting. i’m just... so tired.
they’d get along! obviously they would get along, we’ve seen their canon interactions, we’ve all slurped up as much rantaro tdp content as we were able to get, we know the tea. rantaro is passive and not easily creeped out, so he’d be able to look past all the unsettling things about kiyo, and similarly, kiyo is understanding and not pushy, so rantaro would be able to vibe around him without being asked about his secrets, or his travels, or anything that he doesn’t want anybody else to know. i like the aesthetic of them sitting around and drinking tea together, just, vibing like bros. kiyo infodumps to rantaro. rantaro fucking loves it. they’re best friends.
also like. they travel together. or whatever.
rantaro + kiibo (4/10) to be clear, i’m like, they’re cute, it’s just. i don’t have very strong opinions on kiibo as a whole FLKDJSFKLJDSFKDF kiibo is one of those characters who i kind of close my eyes on because to me he is just, he is very boring! he is very boring and i am so sorry to the kiibo stans who follow me, i have so much respect for you, i just have never had a kiibo thought in my life. they’re fun to write, though, i’ll tell you that.
kiibo is one of those characters who i think engages with you based on how you engage with him. i don’t mean that he’s a code switcher, (at least not a notorious one), but he’s emotional, and he’ll give back as much as you put in. if you treat him poorly, he’ll respond with anger and indignity. if you treat him with kindness and respect, he’ll respond similarly. which is why i think he and rantaro would really get along! rantaro is relaxed and kind and non-judgmental, and kiibo is the kind of person who needs chill vibes, so i think they’d have a lot of fun hanging out. rantaro is also the type of guy to get his friends a lot of gifts, and i think kiibo would be overwhelmed at like, the thoughtfulness that goes into that, and would grow really fond of rantaro accordingly. they’re sweet! amiibo rights, even if the first time i saw it my gut reaction was “wait, huh?”
rantaro + ryoma (5/10) this is another one of those ones where the rating was cucked because i don’t see a lot of them interacting and there’s not enough fandom content for me to really be in love with it. five is like, a solid neutral rating. i could swing either way. probably more for the positive though; i fucking love ryoma.
another one of those duos where they kind of just, vibe. honestly i don’t know if they’d get too close, if only because rantaro is gone so often he doesn’t really have the time to work on tearing down ryoma’s walls, and ryoma similarly is so tired he’s like, he doesn’t have the energy to try and figure out what the fuck is up with rantaro. unlike with amamota, rantaro and ryoma both have things that trouble them from their past, but the difference is that like, ryoma is so open about it? he’s not closed off. he won’t let people get close, but sure, he’ll tell them exactly why they shouldn’t. rantaro is the complete opposite, all sunny smiles and subject changes. this isn’t to say that they wouldn’t get along! i think they’d get along fantastically. sometimes when rantaro is just feeling so fucking tired, he’d pop by ryoma’s dorm for a candy cigarette and a casual conversation, and they’d chill. or maybe rantaro tells people to let ryoma have his space sometimes. just. vibing in solidarity. they’re bros! they’re bros.
and sometimes they kis--
rantaro + miu (6/10) full disclosure: i love them. leila i am so sorry that a dumb bitch like me would do this friendship like this. i’m just looking at the list and thinking “oh no i love them all” and when it comes to like, my favourite characters, unfortunately, miu had to go on the chopping block. i love them. feel like shit just want egg rp miu and rantaro back.
god! this is another one of those where like, rantaro isn’t judgmental (but he is firm!) so he and miu would get along really well. rantaro is really patient and he like, goes with the flow, so he and miu would be able to have conversations and he’d either shut down or tune out the sex jokes, actually carrying the conversation based on what she’s saying. miu is pretty chill, like, at least i feel like she’d be a really chill friend? so rantaro would be able to make insensitive jokes about how he just got stabbed and miu would be like “KYAHAHAHA you’re such a fuckin moron come to my lab i’ll make you a drink or some shit” and they’d just be cool. they’d just be cool! i want them to be best friends. please. just. two pals who spill tea and come to each other to make dark jokes. also miu cries into rantaro’s shoulder sometimes and he braids her hair fuck you i doooo what i want.
also sometimes they k--
rantaro + gonta (7/10) hey! it’s SO fucking homophobic that the only amagoku fic on ao3 is fucking porn! i hate it here can you please give me some actual food? please? i’m dying. i’m dying here and you’re doing me like this. these two have so many rights! they have so many rights. i just, two special boys? thank you. thank you for them. i care them. if there was more fucking CONTENT for these two i would have given them a higher rating but i guess! i’ll fucking die!
damn i’m actually like... really tender, thinking about them. i just think they could take care of each other! that’s all. i feel like rantaro would be really patient with gonta but he would also treat him like! a real, intelligent person! idk! like not infantalise him despite being sweet and comforting. i don’t know! i think that’s important can you guys STOOOOP infantalising coded autistic characters that would be really sweet </3 but anyway. i headcanon that rantaro likes insects! or at least, he thinks they’re pretty neat! he thinks they’re neat and he likes them and even more than that he likes listening to gonta info dump, it’s just, it’s important. idk. i think rantaro would be really psyched by how excited gonta gets about insects, and of course gonta would be thrilled to have a friend who wants to talk to his insect friends.... hhhhHhh... and of course gonta would take care of rantaro, too, just, he’d respect rantaro’s boundaries and not ask him any questions, he’d offer space and let rantaro just, exist, and be. gonta is soft and he gives good hugs! and i think that he would just be able to let rantaro cry one out on his shoulder and that’s SO important to me.
also gonta is such a sweetheart so it would be like, hard, for rantaro to lie about stuff? i dunno, like, he’d do okay, and then gonta would ask him a question or something and rantaro would be hit with the Guilts... also like, rantaro employs a mix of like, slight coldness, and airheaded subject changes in making people back off, and i doubt he could really do that with gonta. why would you!!! he’s a soft man, just the softest!!!! these two soft green men :) i care them so fucking much can you imagine rantaro taking gonta to places to see bugs PLEASE they have so much potential can we fucking talk about this
rantaro + tenko (7/10) this one would be higher, but i deducted points because of how the fandom always sees rantaro as “fixing” tenko’s man hatred. that’s literally so gross can you shut up? please? i hate? men?
okay n e wayz. i like them! i think they’re neat, i think they’d be great friends... eventually LFKDJLKDSF like listen, okay? i think tenko really does have real fear of men. think about her backstory, like, her master dripping poison in her ear all her childhood, and then the way he had her working as a fucking VIGILANTE? HELLO? like tenko probably saw some horrible traumatising shit as a child that strengthened these beliefs. this is entirely her master’s fault and he is such a, clenches fist, i can’t even articulate this beanie has better master hatred thoughts than i do, but god he sucks? wow. and fuck tenko’s parents too, sending her off to a temple because she had anger issues. you ever heard of a therapist, chabashiras? hello?
i got distracted, but the main thing is, tenko wouldn’t like him at first. not even reluctantly! like rantaro very much looks like a playboy and that’s the epitome of the kind of guy tenko is against. obviously rantaro isn’t, but tenko isn’t getting close enough to see that! if a man so much as touches her she’s responding defensively, don’t you even think rantaro is going to get past that. and i don’t think rantaro would try Too hard, i mean, like, i think he’d be endeared to tenko because of how much she protects the girls, and how sweet she is when she’s like, not actively thinking about it, but i don’t think he’s so ready to get his ass kicked, y’know? FKLDSJFLKSDFJ
but then maybe like! an accident will happen, and tenko falls over, and rantaro reaches to help her but she freaks and grabs his arm and flips him over and then BOOM!!! neo aikido magic things and she sees all his fucking stress, all his distrust, just how much he really blames himself for everything, how afraid and angry and tired he is, and we all know tenko is super compassionate so i think she would absolutely be worried about it. and then i think she’d like! keep an eye out for rantaro, at the very least try and get confirmation on all those emotions because this pretty boy soooo does not act like it, and then maybe one time she sees him getting grilled on his travels, or he comes back injured and tenko finds him, and she bails him out, begrudgingly, and then they start to become friends.
idk! i think they have platonic potential. i think rantaro would see her as a sister and i think tenko would eventually ask rantaro if he’s really a guy. (which he would laugh off, if he was cis, but if this is nb rantaro.... i’m just saying, the potential for tenko to help rantaro with gender awakening.... fantastic.) get into these two as friends. do it.
if some MOTHERFUCKER reblogs this post with am*cha in the tags i’m going to kill. i’m going to KILL. i won’t even hesitate /hj
rantaro + tsumugi (8/10) (looks at ibuki poster) oh mioda, we’re really in it now. and by that i mean, god it’s so fucking hard to choose favourites from here FKJDSLFKJ i have almost all the girls just, up here, because i’m so fucking fond of their relationships with rantaro. and i know i said i don’t like ranmugi or rantaro/himiko, and it’s true, but i am obsessed with their platonic relationships with him. ESPECIALLY when tsumugi and rantaro are one-sided enemies.... that’s such good shit, holy crap.
okay, let me explain. i feel like rantaro and tsumugi can swing both ways, here. they can either be really good friends! like, rantaro is mellow so he lets tsumugi put him into cosplay (i think rantaro would make a really good n off the top of my head since they’re both green FLKJDSFKJ or light yagami..... handsome men) and since he loves listening to people info dump he just... lets tsumugi go fucking OFF about anime sometimes FKJDSLKFJ i think it would be sweet! i think tsumugi could give rantaro a place to unwind, because she’s so like, hard to phase, i guess? like tsumugi and rantaro share that trait where if you hit either of them in the face with a pie, they’d just go “oh, funky” and go to wash their clothes LMAO. power duo! they’re brother and sister! and i headcanon mugi as a lesbian so she talks to rantaro about ~girls~ sometimes. also u already know tsumugi got tea to spill so rantaro helps with her hair for a cosplay while she gossips KFJDLK honestly why aren’t she miu and rantaro a trio? i just think they’d be neat. good friends! best friends.
or tsumugi absolutely fucking detests rantaro with every fiber of her being. she couldn’t even tell you why! he’s just, he’s a normie! he’s a normie, and he’s like the flirtatious pretty boy stereotype except he isn’t even flirtatious, he’s just genuinely nice and he takes care of people and god tsumugi hates it when anime tries to be subversive! there’s a reason tropes exist, y’know! and he’s so smiley and innocent when obviously he’s hiding some kind of shit, why else would he be going on travels all the time, not that it matters because everyone knows how much she hates rantaro so they wouldn’t listen to her anyway... on rantaro’s end, he really doesn’t have a clue why she loathes him so much, like, he’d like to be friends? but wow she hates him, huh. well, whatever. rantaro’s got more important things to worry about.
in other words, i fucking love them in any form, please give me content of these two they’re so fun.
rantaro + angie (8/10) i love these two and these rankings are? so difficult for me, i am going to cry, you guys get the idea about me being a rantaro stan, right? i hope you do because god i love him so much. and i love him with angie! man. okay. okay.
so like. first of all. angie climbing onto rantaro’s back? perfect. she’s in need of piggy back rides and rantaro will gladly give them. rantaro is so patient and like, hhh i don’t want to use the word pliable because of horny people but that’s the best one i can come up with? like, he just goes with the flow, y’know? angie is so high strung, platonically i think she works really well with people who are patient and indulgent. i don’t know if rantaro would be much for her as far as fulfilling her loneliness, because angie is sort of looking for someone who Wouldn’t indulge her that much, but i’m absolutely weak for their dynamic. just, angie bringing up wacky ideas, rantaro responding with mild skepticism but also listening to her. i think she’d cause some trouble and he would be entirely here for it. bless them, honestly.
also angie painting rantaro’s sisters? please they’re so cute
rantaro + shuichi (8/10) before you come at me like “but toxic! amasai is your otp!” it’s not, okay? it used to be. but due to negative associations i can’t really write it (or shuichi ships as a whole) that much anymore and it’s really frustrating so uh, yeah. amamota supremacy.
that being said, god the potential of these two. they’re a great balance. shuichi is anxious and rantaro is laid back, shuichi is reserved and rantaro is outgoing (to an extent; he definitely doesn’t have any issues voicing his opinions). i think rantaro would be really gentle with shuichi! he matches the quiet, less overwhelming vibes, and just. feels inclined to take care of him, y’know? and spend time with him. i think they’re sweet! i think they’re really cute. the other part of the amasai dynamic that i used to be obsessed with his shuichi’s natural curiosity. shuichi would be so curious about what’s going on with rantaro and why he’s traveling, and rantaro would want so badly to tell him, but he can’t risk it happening again, he can’t... oh!!! rantaro is is really good at comforting people i think so he’d be able to like, support shuichi when he’s upset, and shuichi has great communication skills! or at least i like to give them to him. so shuichi would nudge rantaro into being honest, and talking about his feelings. i just want to see them do well together, that’s all! i think that shuichi is earnest and emotional and he cares very dearly for his friends, and he would try really hard to take care of rantaro. he would also probably worry a lot about rantaro after figuring out he gets injured a lot in trips, which, like, FLKDJSFLKJ rantaro might not be so big on but honestly? the guy needs someone to worry about him.
also they FUCKING TRAVEL TOGETHER!!!! shuichi is a detective!!!!!! he can help rantaro search! cue post-salmon mode amasai slowburn as they travel the world together finding rantaro’s lost sisters. i really need to finish writing search, it’s been four months.
rantaro + kaede (9/10) hhh. oh man. oh geez. amamatsu, huh. amamatsu. i just. think about kaede having a little crush on rantaro after he painted her nails, because he’s so reassuring and patient and observant, and she knows he’s sketchy but she believes in him anyway because he has to be trustworthy, he has to, and then she sees him dead and is at first betrayed, horrified that he was the mastermind, only to realise he wasn’t, and she just killed an innocent person for no reason...
now that that’s out of the way, GOD I LOVE THEM! there are things about this relationship that prevent it from working out in the long term (at least in my opinion) but i don’t even care they have such a lovely dynamic and they look so good together... hhhhh i’m also so into them, just, platonically? god. okay. they just! like they already have that canonical dynamic of like, kaede bringing concerns to rantaro and him reassuring her or providing insight, and it’s so tender! the way he talks to her about miu or kiyo or kiibo (depending on who you choose) is so like, i dunno! he doesn’t judge her for having bad first impressions but at the same time he calmly looks a little more into why they behave the way they do? it’s just sweet! it’s just sweet, and i think rantaro can really help kaede like that, and help her to let her barriers down a little and feel not so pressured to be like, perfect all the time, y’know? to be a leader and take care of everyone 24/7. kaede really needs that.
and kaede! believes in him! she believes in him and looks to him for guidance and that’s so important for rantaro too, just, feeling trusted and knowing someone has faith in him... i really genuinely think kaede would encourage rantaro to keep on looking for his sisters, and urge him to trust other people and believe in himself, and it’s that same thing where she wants him to trust and open up to her and he wants to as well but it’s so difficult.... hhh!!! i think they’re so good!!!!! i just think they’re so good. they would take care of one another.
(the reason why i don’t think they’d be sustainable in the long term is because kaede like, she worries. and not in the way shuichi does? i just feel like she needs more stability and vulnerability than rantaro can actually bring to the table. i think kaede would try so, so, so hard to get rantaro to open up, and try so hard to take care of him and make sure he takes care of himself, and rantaro wouldn’t be putting in the same effort, because he can’t, and i don’t think kaede would blame him for it, but i do think that eventually she’d see it’s not. healthy. and it’s making her upset all the time. and she can’t keep up like this. they hurt me but i love them so much and i live in a world where they’re forever teens and never have to break up.)
also love them platonically! sorry i have amamatsu brainrot at all times but i really do love them as friends! i love rantaro painting kaede’s nails and doing her hair and kaede teaching him a duet on the piano, and she comes to him for advice and he brings her souvenirs and kaede makes sure he’s welcome in the class, and saves him cake after parties... also he calls her a brat and ruffles her hair a lot HEHEHE.
rantaro + maki (9/10) what? what? two people who never interacted and who have almost less interactions than gonta and ryoma do with rantaro? why, tox? why?
... because i’m a simp. that’s the only reason! that’s the only reason. i think they look good together, i’m really weak for maki and rantaro, and that’s the only reason. that’s the only reason! i have a crush on them both and i want to see them interact. there it is. boom. get your “make fun of tox” juice. before i ramble about how much potential they have, i just want you to know how utterly biased i am towards them.
there! that’s out of the way! biases admitted. i think rantaro and maki have the potential to really balance each other out. rantaro is really mellow and maki has a bit of a temper, rantaro is airheaded and maki is focused, rantaro is sociable and maki is closed off. at the same time, though, they like, handshake on a lot of things, y’know? they’re both secretive and distrustful, they both don’t want to let other people get close out of a fear of losing them, they’re both so FUCKING sad please i just want to hold them. i think there’s a lot of potential for them to be like, coming back to hope’s peak late or something, rantaro coming home from a trip and maki coming home from an assassination, and to run into each other and both be curious but also neither of them asks anything because they’ve both got so much to hide...
(that’s actually the exact premise of my amami week day one oneshot, stay tuned, gamers.)
but!! then it happens more often and they start seeing each other a lot more, and slowly they start to get like, a sort of companionship? like they’re not close or anything, but they’re united by their like, distrust of other people. and maybe maki tends to a wound of rantaro’s, or like with tenko tells people to lay off of grilling him, or maybe RANTARO tends to a wound of MAKI’S, or sticks up for her in a conversation. and fuck!! maybe a mission goes wrong and maki is upset and she trusts nobody at this goddamn school (because kaito hasn’t taken her on as his sidekick yet) so she goes to rantaro for, fucking, something, for comfort, and it’s embarrassing and vulnerable and absolutely terrible but he’s so gentle and sweet maki can’t help but let her guard down for just a second. also love the aesthetic of like, rantaro coming home from a trip disheartened and running into maki and she calls him an idiot or something and he just starts crying while maki stands there, not sure what to do, before stepping forward and awkwardly patting his arm FKLDJSFKJd i just think they’re neat. strictly speaking he’s not maki’s type (read: optimistic and stupid) but i love them for each other.
love them as friends! love rantaro to be maki’s go-to friend when she needs her empowering haircut, and them tending to each other’s wounds is not an inherently romantic thing, and they just stick up for each other and vibe... hhhhh.
if none of this happens then idk rantaro is a bit intimidated by maki, and maki thinks he’s unreliable and untrustworthy. that’s probably more likely FLKDJSFKJ BUT I CAN DREAM OKAY? CRIES
rantaro + himiko (9/10) these two are brother and sister, full stop. there’s nothing morally wrong with shipping them, it’s more just that like. i don’t know! himiko is so childish, like, the epitome of a younger sister, and rantaro is the epitome of an older brother... they vibe so hard platonically and then romantically my brain just restarts itself. but anyway!
magic is himiko’s special interest!!!! it means a lot to her and she’s very adamant that it be called magic and not tricks, like, even to the point of slowing down a trial and making herself look guilty in chapter two. i think rantaro is very used to playing along with his sisters’ stuff, and i think he would absolutely humour himiko. and like, they both know it’s not really magic, but it’s the effort that himiko appreciates, and in like, a no-pressure way like rantaro does it? yes please.
i think he would give her piggyback rides. like in chapter five when they’re climbing the stairs to kaito’s lab and himiko goes “someone give me a piggyback ride!” you already know rantaro would be volunteering. (side note: read whattheskyknows’ fic “missing (isn’t always so bad)” because it has that scene and i’m emotional.) i think he’d really take care of her! idk i know i’ve said that about a lot of these but rantaro is very caring. he’d look after himiko and make sure she’s taking her depression meds and carry her to her room when she falls asleep and tell people off when they overwhelm her and hhhh... and himiko would support him too! like with his travels and stuff, she wouldn’t really care about knowing why he’s traveling because it’s not her business and also like, asking about that stuff is a pain, who cares, if he’s gonna travel he’s gonna travel. rantaro would buy her books about magic while traveling and read them to her if she wants, and she would perform magic tricks for him and remind him of what it’s like to have a younger sister again. they matter to me. they should matter to you, too.
rantaro + kirumi (9/10) now i KNOW you weren’t expecting me to put amatoujou any lower, do you know who my favourite person in this fandom is? you are legally obligated to go check out Storyflight’s ao3 and read all of their amatoujou fics because they’re phenomenal and story is too. story ilu. amatoujou week is coming up on october third. participate or die.
anyway! i just think like, in general, rantaro has a lot of respect and appreciation for kirumi. she takes care of everyone! she works so hard all the time and she can really do anything and she’s so composed and calm all the time, and she has this sweet smile and this little laugh and this relaxing, patient energy, and hhhhhhh. rantaro respects her so damn much! so damn much. and maybe he simps a little regardless of whether they’re romantically involved because she works so hard. they get along! pseudo-parents of the group as people always make them. rantaro wants kirumi to kick back every so often, y’know? she matters to him and he’d like to see her being true to herself and enjoying herself. i also think he’s pretty stern with people when it comes to her, and just like, respecting her boundaries, the kinda guy to calmly and casually go, “hey, ouma-kun, she told you not to call her your mother, maybe you’d better respect that?” and kokichi goes “simp” but nevermind nevermind, i’m covering oumami on the next bullet.
idk! i think they’d look after each other! i think rantaro would make sure that kirumi is actually Taking Care Of Herself and of course kirumi would notice him coming in injured all the time and she would absolutely tend to his injuries without asking any questions at all. she would make sure he’s eating and if he requested, she would even tell everyone to Back The Fuck Off on his secrets and leave him alone FKJDSKFj i think she would always emphasise to him that she’ll do whatever she can for him if he so much as asks, as is her duty as a maid or whatever, but rantaro will refuse because like!!! hell’s no, he’s not about to feed into her complex my dude!!!!! but anyway.
i think it would... i just think it would be neat if he told her about his sisters! that’s all. kirumi is a fucking powerhouse, even if rantaro didn’t request it, she would totally help him find all twelve of them and bring them home. honestly? prime slowburn material, just, rantaro requesting that she help find his sisters and they slowly fall in love along the way... hhhhh if i wasn’t a fucking coward i’d write it myself, what a fantastic multi-chapter concept. i am so smart.
rantaro + kokichi (10/10) romantic oumami i go back and forth on but these two are really high at this specific moment in time because i love them SO much platonically, my god.
kokichi is a fucking brat! he’s such a brat, just, an absolute menace, a troublemaker and buffoon. i care him a lot but he’s so tiring to deal with, and if you don’t have the patience it’s hard to like, try and understand him? like with the shorter fuse members of the class (read: kaito and maki) it would be really hard to actually, get to the point where you can see past his bullshit KFJSDLFKJ but rantaro is patient! he’s a patient boy, and he’s hard to menace, and he grew up with twelve younger sisters. twelve!!! he takes care of them, bro, he can handle a little shit gremlin in his life. i think he’d be endeared to kokichi because of this reason, like, the immaturity, it just reminds him of his sisters, and if kokichi pulled out the “onii-chan”... hoo, it’s over. rantaro will do whatever this guy wants. just, a total enabler. absolute goon and enabler. i love them so much.
on a more serious note, they both have a lot of baggage, and similar to harumami it’s like, they’re both really distrustful! they’re distrustful, they just deflect in different ways. i think they’re both observant and intelligent enough that they could bounce off of each other really well. i do think kokichi is a bit smarter than rantaro is, if only just because it’s really hard to be smarter than kokichi, but i still think rantaro could keep up with them. and i think they could be a safe haven for each other! like rantaro gives him a place to truly feel safe, y’know, which is SO rare for kokichi the way he believes everyone is out to get him, and kokichi could give rantaro a place to just, stop smiling. unwind and be himself a little bit. be a little mean! bitch a little! be openly distrustful!
they take care of each other is all!! care them.
rantaro + kaito (20/10) you think you know a simp’s rating system and then she pulls one of these. i’m honestly a little worried about how long this will be because i’ve literally been writing this for three hours but KFJDSKJFDK i’m going to try my very, very best! so here goes :3c
kaito and rantaro have... so much in common. look at these two emotionally constipated, constantly smiling, constantly putting on a brave face, never letting their guard down, never relying on anyone but themselves, always taking care of other people, always taking the burden onto themselves... yeah. it’s like looking in a mirror. and in some cases that’s a really terrible foundation for a relationship. but with these two, when their unhealthy similarities are so reliant upon the other person being willing to just let themself be helped... it works out.
because they’re sweet! they’re sweet people, and rantaro will probably notice the way that kaito takes so much crap from people, including his sidekicks, while working so hard to take care of everyone, and kaito will of Course notice how rantaro is gone all the time, and how he kind of takes himself out of group interactions and makes himself an outcast, and how subtly closed off he is... there’s interest! and they’re both so inclined to help each other i feel like they’d get close! kaito would probably have a bit of a squish on rantaro anyway because he’s the fucking ultimate adventurer and what the hell, that’s so fucking cool, kaito’s destiny obviously lies in the stars but knowing someone who’s going to conquer the earth... that’s awesome. he probably sees rantaro as an equal even before they start getting close. (aka he thinks rantaro is totally above him in every way, like, the ideal almost, but “an equal” is something the luminary of the stars would say, so there he is.) and rantaro thinks kaito is a little silly, but he’s sweet! it’s sweet how much he takes care of other people and just, like, looks after them. rantaro’s weak for a good dork.
and maybe kaito asks rantaro to train with him sometime, or challenges him to a fight, and of course rantaro goes for it because he’s a Man or whatever (and if they do fight it’s homoerotic as hell FKLDSJFK) and plus he’s been meaning to get to know kaito anyway, and then they make a habit of it and start like!! spending time together. and kaito drags rantaro into the larger group and makes him interact and rantaro quietly tells people to lay off kaito, or else makes sure that he’s actually taking care of himself, and then they’re both trying so hard to just, help each other, and they keep like deflecting it back onto the other person, and it’s frustrating! and rantaro is sitting there like “man i really wish momota-kun would open up to me!!” before realising fucking... wait. i do the same thing. like how can he expect kaito to open up to him if he wont do the same thing, y’know? and then he ponders that, and is like, well maybe the relationship just isn’t worth it like vulnerability is for gay losers, but rantaro is, inevitably, a gay loser, so...
there’s just something about seeing your own flaws magnified on another person who you really, really want to take care of, that makes you realise how uncomfortable that is. obviously kaito doesn’t realise he’s upsetting people by pushing them away, not until rantaro closes the door in his face during a breakdown, and then he seriously needs to reevaluate the way he takes care of other people.
idk! i think they’re fantastic. i think kaito’s fervent belief in people would lend itself well to rantaro’s task, like, who doesn’t want to be believed in, y’know? and kaito is so strong about it, even when rantaro doubts himself he’s so encouraging and it’s nice. and rantaro gives kaito space to stop being the hero for a second and just! be kaito! and kaito can tend to his wounds and rantaro can take care of him when he’s sick and hhhHhHhHhhhhHh i care about them SO fucking much.
also? amamota baking sessions? absolutely fucking flawless. these two are so important to me.
hahahaha. sorry for such a long reply, anon. i have a lot of feelings about all of these guys. especially rantaro :) thank you so much for the ask, this was a lot of fun to answer. hope you’re doing well.

Chapter 3
I couldn’t tell if she believed me or not, but it didn’t matter. I knew the truth. I really wasn’t jealous of Ysabel and Dorian.
Well, not much, anyway.
Chapter 3 summary: At the babyshower, Eugenie feels underdressed, and now feels weird for having rejected the earlier offer to be dressed in standard fairy clothing. She approaches Maiwenn, and watches as a man in front of her hands over a literal chest full of rubies. All Eugenie can think about is the choking hazard rubies would pose for a baby.
She gives a fancy teddy bear, which Maiwenn likes because they don't have craftsmanship like that in their world. Eugenie also explains that she's going to donate money to a sick children's charity in the baby's name after it is born, and Maiwenn likes that a great deal, too, stating that it'll make goodwill with the gods.
Eugenie then is forced to rub elbows with everybody else there. She's first introduced to the Queen of the Rowan lands, her consort, and their son, Leith, who is around Eugenie's age. Shaya explains to Eugenie that Leith doesn't have a lot of magical powers, but makes up for it by inventing things. Obviously, he's hoping to get in good with Eugenie for multiple reasons.
She then meets a black fairy who seems to speak with a French accent. Not going to touch that. But he's also schmoozing up to Eugenie in the hopes of getting into her pants, and offers to craft her something from metal.
And finally, Dorian comes over. There's this super tedious back-and-forth that's one part flirting, one part threatening. And Eugenie is still kind of turned on by him, especially when he roughly grabs her wrist. But she's trying to tell herself that she's with Kiyo and that she's done with Dorian. Both romantically as well as having him teach her magic.
A random lady comes over, and Dorian kind of lords her over Eugenie, stating that she's his lover. However, Shaya says that ladies who physically look like Eugenie with red hair and blue eyes (since purple eyes are hard to find) have been warming the bed of Dorian ever since Eugenie decided enough was enough. Eugenie had to tell herself that she's not jealous.
Chapter 4
“What do you mean…displease me?”
The villagers exchanged glances. “Well…,” said Davros at last. “There must be something. You’ve placed a blight on the land, stripping us of our water and food. Surely we’ve done something to warrant your most righteous displeasure.”
JFC Eugenie. You can't just randomly decide that this land is now a desert when it had been a lush forest earlier.
I know that you can totally survive in the desert. People had been living in Arizona for centuries before things like modern technology. (Let me tell you about adobe brick houses...) But the problem is that those people went there willingly. They learned how to survive off of the land through decades of hard work. They didn't just wake up one morning in the middle of the desert, all of their crops dead, and their wells dry.
“Not where I come from,” I told him. “This is like the land I grew up in. People live and flourish there.”
People also had modern ways of bringing in water and shopping for whatever other stuff they might need. And that wasn’t even taking air-conditioning into account.
“How?” he asked.
I didn’t know how to readily answer. I didn’t really understand the intimate details of my world’s infrastructure. I turned a faucet and water came out. I went to the grocery store and bought milk and Pop-Tarts. Desperately, I racked my brain and tried to pull out elementary school lessons about Arizona’s history.
“Irrigation,” I said lamely. “Squash, I think. And, um, corn.” Had the natives grown corn? Or was I getting confused by stereotypes? Shit. I was so ignorant. The only thing I felt confident of was that Pop-Tarts were not cultivated natively in Arizona. The looks the others gave me told me I wasn’t helping this situation any.
Pardon my French but Jesus fucking Christ you ignorant asshole.
I glanced around us, noting that the faces watching us leave town were no longer blank and afraid. They were grateful and adoring. I sighed.
“That,” I told her, “is an excellent question.”
Chapter 4 summary: Eugenie stays long enough not to offend anybody, and then they leave. As they're going back to the Thorn Kingdom, they pass through a village that hadn't been there during their first trip, thanks to the constantly changing nature of this world.
A man who introduces himself as the mayor stops their carriage, and then they say that since their kingdom has turned into a desert under Eugenie's rule, their crops have shriveled and died and the wells have gone dry. Eugenie uses her power to find underground water, and commands them to dig, to build a well there.
As she's leaving, a couple comes over and says that their daughter was taken. The mayor thinks that they're being absurd, that she ran off with a lover to the kingdom's biggest city. However, the couple is certain that their daughter was kidnapped by a roving band of bandits. The mayor admits that there is such a group, but that Aeson didn't do anything about them, and therefore, it is below the concern of their current queen. Eugenie feels bad about failing to do anything about Jasmine, and like saving this other girl would somehow make up for that. So she promises to help them get their daughter back.

(this is kind of a Steven Universe/Danganronpa crossover ask) can I get the V3 boys accidentally fusing with their half-gem s/o and their reaction? BTW your blog is amazing
Thanks for thinking our blog is amazing anon! It took me a few to understand what you meant by fusing with their half gem s/o because I thought it meant that the boys were gems or something possibly but decided to go with them being humans that end up fusing with s/o similar to how Connie did with Steven. I hope that's ok and that you like what I came up with but as always feel free to tell me I goofed.
Tumblr media
Rantaro
Rantaro is fairly romantic and carefree so when you'd fuse it'd probably be when you two are just doing something small.
You two would be in the house with some light music on when he'd embrace you from behind and the two of you would start lightly swaying like in some corny movie with light laughter.
It'd all be so normal until that laughter would suddenly sound a bit different.
Since when did they stop feeling that warm embrace? Everything still felt like that tender moment from a few minutes ago, all warm and comforting but there wasn't anyone holding the other anymore.
You fused somehow with Rantaro and he couldn't even react.
Your eyes just widened in surprise or rather the both of your eyes did at the mutual feeling as he tried to speak.
It was just a simple question but it ended up coming out your now shared voice.
"Did we just...is this really happening?"
He will be one of the calmest with this experience and look at it as a new type of adventure but he'd still be very shocked. He didn't think this was possible at all.
Ryoma
Ryoma normally looks calm but as you'd get to know him more and more you'd understand that he's really a super anxious guy deep down.
He isn't the best at being super romantic or anything like that but when you said you wanted to try twirling someone he decided to humor you.
He'd never let this happen outside of closed doors so you'd be at his place or yours when he'd begrudgingly give in.
He felt so dumb for doing it but at the same time like he was comfortable and carefree like a child. It's how he felt just being around you.
He felt so comfortable that it didn't even occur to him until a few moments had passed that you two weren't separate, you had fused.
Unlike Rantaro though, Ryoma would freak out and you could hear him losing it.
"Why did this happen? You, no, I can't take this. I don't know how to do..."
Needless to say, you wouldn't stay fused long because he wouldn't be able to relax like Rantaro or be able to accept someone being able to feel everything he does.
He is very embarrassed at you knowing his feelings and wouldn't be willing to try again for a long time because of his own issues. However, that doesn't mean he never will.
Korekiyo
Like Ryoma, Kiyo isn't overly affectionate a lot of the time. He enjoys more simple touches when he's not being intimate with you but he'd always humor you when you'd want more.
There were a few times he'd be the one to wish for more from you but with his personality, he'd normally request more odd requests.
This was one of those times.
Korekiyo had read of a new ritualistic dance that was supposed to bring happiness to couples that he wanted to try out with you.
He was just head over heels with the idea and you so you couldn't help but accept. I mean how could you say no to him?
You took his outstretched hand and soon you were following behind him clumsily with your own moves when suddenly everything would stop.
He wouldn't comprehend it at first and simply think that somehow you both messed up the dance before it'd hit. His dance wasn't ruined at all you both fused! You fused and how beautiful it is.
"This is amazing."
Is the single phrase that leaves both of your lips as you gaze at your new shared vessel.
Instead of freaking out like Ryoma he will be ecstatic and want to continue to try out things you couldn't do before.
Gonta
This boy is always very loving and excitable so it wouldn't be surprising that'd he'd want to continue with his work to become a gentleman for you.
You'd actually become his trainer basically for his training.
He'd want to be able to do things like ballroom dance even so you'd have to help him with some tutorials he'd find.
It'd be a usual day filled with minor hiccups and lots of fun when the two of you would end up fusing.
At first, Gonta would've thought he just messed up but when he'd look down he'd be horribly confused.
Once he'd understand more though he'd freak out thinking this is his fault.
"Go-i'm sorry, no mean to turn us into one person. Was accident I swear it."
Him freaking out wouldn't let you two stay together for long so you'd end up falling apart but once you explain everything better he'd be super excited and would want to try again.
Kokichi
Kokichi is always up for messing around so if he pulled you into some stupid made-up dance suddenly it wouldn't be surprising.
If anything, you'd be used to his childish antics and would go along with a majority.
He counted on that but he never prepared himself to suddenly fuse together.
He wouldn't be happy to fuse since he's a bit of a control freak but he'd love if it gave him the capability to mess with people.
If you go along with him a lot this fusion will work just as well as Rantaro 's would but it'd be a huge nuisance to everyone else.
"What do you mean I stole your hair gel, Kaito? I'm, we'd never do that or is that a lie."
Kaito
Dating Kaito you'd already know he's uncomfortable with most occult stuff.
That thankfully didn't apply to you though. He somehow felt comfortable around you even before you both were dating.
It was just a normal night you two spent stargazing when he pulled you into a hug and started to pull you into a cheesy dance number under the stars when it happened.
One moment it was normal and then suddenly you had a different view of the stars then you did before.
It took Kaito probably the longest out of all these boys to realize what had happened but when he does he freaks.
If you thought Ryoma was bad just imagine Kaito flipping his absolute shit so promptly that you nearly fall apart immediately.
Afterwards though, once you explain what happened to him he'll insist he did not freak out and will beg you to let him try again.
Kiibo
I didn't know it was even possible to fuse with a robot but somehow you did it.
It was a normal day for the two of you when he asked if he could try out a dance you two saw in a romantic movie you two watched.
It was such a sweet and innocent request it was impossible to say no.
You helped show him how to place his hands on you and started to dance away when suddenly you two stopped.
Kiibo, like Gonta at first, thinks he messed up trying to apologize when he then realizes he can feel things differently.
"I'm sorry-wait is this what body heat feels like?"
He's so ecstatic at first until he then realizes that this is not normal.
Then his reaction is very much like Kaito's.
After though, he'd be a lot calmer and levelheaded so that he could listen to your explanation on what happened.
Once he's aware it is normal he's more eager than anyone else to fuse again. It was the closest he's ever felt to being human.
Shuichi
Shuichi is another anxious and self-conscious guy so he wouldn't normally pull you into any impromptu dance numbers but he's used to going along with his weird friends so it's not unlikely for him to join in if you pulled him into one.
If he were comfortable enough around you, he might be able to actually mess around and be childish like how Kiibo can be.
He'd find it nice to be able to act a little childish but it again would not be often when he would.
It would just happen to be a day he's more relaxed when you'd pull him into some crazy made-up dance laughing like a child when suddenly everything would still.
Normally he'd immediately go into a panic as soon as something goes wrong and it's not far off once he can wrap his head around what exactly did happen.
Then he'll be like Ryoma, getting so anxious that he can't stay fused with you and like Ryoma afterwards would be hesitant to try again.
He's just a nervous wreck with low confidence so he'd need a gentle push to try to fuse again.

Warnings: Major character death

A/N: I decided to settle on somewhat of an uploading schedule so everything is nice and paced out, so most likely, I will post new chapters on Fridays at 7 PM/PST. Also, sorry if this chapter seems short. I’m running on 6 hours of sleep, and I felt like doing mostly dialogue.
Tumblr media
After the week of training camp had come to an end, I finally found refuge in the silence of the cab I took home from the facility. As much as I loved the sport, I too needed a break sometimes from the echoes of the volleyballs that radiated throughout the gym, and I especially needed a break from hearing Atsumu’s voice. Which is why I groaned so loud after picking up the phone and hearing that loud-mouth blonde once again. It hadn’t even been an hour since we all parted ways from the gymnasium.
“Oh my god, Omi-kun, you answered!” I swear I could feel him smiling through the phone.
“How did you get my number?” It was at this moment, that I regretted not turning on silent for the rest of the duration home.
“I asked your buddy...uh...Komori was it?”
“He’s actually my cousin,” I didn't need to tell him that information about me. I don’t know why I did either, it slipped out of mouth so naturally that I didn’t notice until I already said it.
“Well then your cousin knows what’s up!” Atsumu laughed.
“Is there any reason you needed to call me? We have no reason to be in contact anymore. Camp is over,” I said through gritted teeth. It was a phrase rendered as a pain to be spoken, but I had to remember where I drew the line.
“So, Omi-Omi, I’ve been thinking about us—”
“Us?”
“Well, about the fact that we’re soulmates and shit, you know?”
“Mhm...” I didn’t like where this was going. The pit in my stomach was growing more and more intense as I awaited what he was going to say next.
“How about we go on a date?”
Huh?! My whole body went numb at his words as my fingers lost the strength to grasp onto my phone. It slipped out of my hands and wedged itself right in between the seat and door.
“Hello? Omi?” Muffled phrases such as these were all that could be heard from...wherever the phone was hiding. Digging around until finally finding it, I grabbed a bottle of spray hand sanitizer from my gym bag, and spritzed the screen clean before placing it back to my ear.
“Sorry, I dropped my phone. Can you repeat what you said?” Maybe I just heard him wrong.
“Me. You. Date.”
Oh ho ho, it was loud and clear now. He just can’t take a hint, can he?
I said, “no,” almost immediately.
“Aw, Omi-kun, why not. Surely you must think I’m handsome enough to go out with.”
“Doubt it.”
“Ah ha! Doubt? You think I’m cute, don’t you?”
“No, ew, you're gross,” I imitated gagging noises through the phone and the cab driver looked at me through the rear view mirror with concerned eyes, “cooties.”
“Cooties? What are we in? Elementary school?”
“Might as well be in that mindset when I’m talking to you,” I chuckled. Oh so now I’m making jokes too.
All I could hear from the other side of the line was suspicious giggling.
“What’s so funny?”
“I just find it hilarious how this conversation has nothing to do with volleyball, and yet you still keep it going,” the cocky setter could no longer contain his laughter by the time he got to the end of his sentence.
“You know, I’m one button away from hanging up right now.”
“Omi-Omi wait! Don’t hang up!”
“Why not?”
“You haven’t answered my question yet, duh.”
“Which one.”
“Oh my gosh, Omi, it’s like you don’t even pay attention to anything I say.”
“I try not to,” I smirked behind my mask. The car ride was almost over.
“So mean, Omi-kun!” he paused and took a breath, “Anyway, will you go out with me?”
As he finished his statement, the cab pulled up right outside my house. While resting my phone in between my ear and shoulder to free up my other hand, I gave the cab driver the money, and thanked him as I exited the vehicle.
I exhaled, standing before my front door, bags in hand and phone still sitting between ear and shoulder, “no,” was my final answer before I hung up and walked inside.
“Hey Kiyo, how was the camp?” said my father, who was yelling out greetings from the kitchen.
So noisy. Why even bother with the formalities if he was about to go right out the door anyway?
“It was fine,” I replied back, already half way up the stairs.
I felt a buzzing in my pocket as I entered my room and set my bags down onto the floor. I checked who was calling, and of course, it was none other than Atsumu. Did the “A” in “Atsumu” stand for the “Annoying Miya twin?” I let the phone ring as I took my mask off and put my things away. When the vibrating finally ceased to buzz, I sent Atsumu a quick text.
“Gonna take a shower.”
It was no surprise that by the time I finished bathing, my notification wall was overflowing with spammed messages.
“Omi-kun, hurry up!”, “What kind of answer was that?!”, “Such a tease, Omi-Omi!”, and “Are you done with your shower yet?” were just a few of the texts he sent me. Sooner than later, he started calling once more.
“Finally! Omi, you take forever to respond,” is what he said in practically one breath, the second I answered the phone.
“I literally told you I was going to take a shower.”
“Nevermind that, give me your real answer. Go on a date with me, yeah?”
The smile I didn't know I was wearing slowly faded from my face.
“I’m serious about what I said at the training camp, Atsumu.”
“What? That you don’t believe in the whole soulmates thing?” it was completely audible that he too, had lost the laughter in his voice. The mood was becoming far too uncomfortable.
“I don’t believe you,” Atsumu half-chuckled, trying to rid the air of the tension that was slowly suffocating the two of them.
“What do you mean?”
“You said it yourself. I know you can see the colors too. I know you know all about that god awful tracksuit your school makes you wear—”
“Excuse me, Mr. Piss For Hair, it isn’t that bad,” I cut him off. I was right of course, because at least at the end of the day I could take my clothes off...his hair on the other hand...was not something that could be so easily replaced.
“P-Piss for hair?” he scoffed, “I’m hurt, Omi.”
“You’re the one that picked that color, didn’t you?”
“I’m going to ignore what you just said and continue.” I laid down on my bed while listening to him explain, “That’s like saying you don’t believe in the rain.”
“How so?”
“It happens right before your eyes, and you still don’t think it’s true. Unbelievable! Smells like trust issues to me,” a tender laugh escaped his lips, and I could almost hear him smirking on the other side of the line. I mean, he wasn’t wrong.
“I’m sorry, Atsumu, I just don’t think it’s possible for someone to be tied down because of...fate or whatever you want to call it,” I sighed, but then added, “Also, you have zero game,” as a last minute thought.
“Me?! I have no game?”
“Yeah. Even if I did buy into this whole destiny thing, I would not swoon by being asked out over the phone.”
“Just you wait, Omi-kun,” he broke out into a sing-song voice, which almost resonated as a melody in my ears, “I’ll show you just how good my game is.” Surprisingly, Atsumu giggled and then hung up the phone himself.
His last words stayed encompassed in my mind. Did this really mean so much to him, that he was willing to put in the effort to win me over? Oh, how I wish it were that easy to give in to selfish desires, but at least one of us had to know where our boundaries lay.

The Brat’s Birthday (Tsuneko/Platonic Bidders)
Notes: October 27th is Tsuneko’s birthday, as such I’ve written a little one-shot type deal about her first birthday with the bidders. We’re kinda going on Voltage rules of yeah, it’s her birthday, no it doesn’t affect main plot and she’ll just turn 22 every year forever
Summary: It’s Tsuneko’s first birthday since she was sold at that auction, she doesn’t expect it to be any different than any of her other birthdays these past couple years. But, the bidders are never the type to meet her expectations.
Pairing: Tsuneko isn’t with anyone, it’s pretty platonic, but if you look you can see ship teases of Tsuneko/Eisuke and Tsuneko/Baba (They basically get the most love from her in this)
Word Count: 3124
Warnings: Cursing, hatred of Gudetama and....cake? It’s pretty much just fluff.
Cool autumn air fills Tsuneko’s lungs as she makes her way to employee housing, she stops off at her little mailbox in the lobby, it’s practically stuffed full. It’s all coupons and gift offers for her birthday, companies she uses often shoving discounts at her. It’s her birthday tomorrow, October 27th. There’s nothing from her dad, even though she made up an excuse for him to send things to her new address. He’s going to be late this year. She chuckles at the thought, she adores her dad, but he has the memory of a goldfish and always forgets her birthday. It’s either early or late every year. Her mom was the one who always had to keep him on track with dates.
“Hey, Tsuneko,” Sakiko suddenly speaks out and Tsuneko casually holds the mail to her chest, hiding what they are.
“Hey,” she doesn’t want to mention her birthday, but it might be nice to hang out on the day, “are you doing anything after work tomorrow?”
“Yeah, actually, I’m going to a mixer, gonna try to score myself a hottie.”
“Oh, do you know if Chisato is up to anything?”
“I’m pretty sure her and Itsuki are going out to a concert or something, guess it’s just gonna be you and Kiyo, sorry.”
“Eh, worst things have happened to better people.”
Their conversation ends, a small pang in Tsuneko’s chest, that she curses for existing. She has no right to be hurt, she’s spent most of her birthdays without anything or anyone. It’s stupid to act like a baby about it. Tsuneko spends her night cuddling with Kiyo and taking advantage of birthday coupons, maybe she’ll buy herself some cake tomorrow. She doesn’t need an excuse for cake, but she might as well take advantage since she has one.
Morning and her birthday arrive, nothing out of the usual. Until Kenzaki pulls her aside and asks her to skip the morning cleaning of the penthouse.
“Why?”
“The penthouse guests had a late night and would rather not be bothered until this evening.”
“Okay…”
She shakes her head, but goes on about her day, knowing those dumbasses they got shitfaced last night and are hung over. One less trip there just means less of a headache for her. Tsuneko gets to work; cleaning rooms, making bed, helping out guests, and every other mundane thing her job entails. Her customer service smile never dropping despite the childish ache in her heart.
It’s her own fault, she knows that. She never tells anyone her birthday, the only two people who know her birthday are her dad and Shinobu.  A man with a terrible memory and a man that’s just plain terrible. But logically knowing something doesn’t stop the little pang she gets as the hours move on and on with nothing out of the ordinary.
Her pager buzzes in her pocket, oh god, now this shit.
“Penthouse, five minutes.”
“Stay out of the penthouse, rush up to the penthouse, make up your mind asshole!”
If he heard her bitching, he doesn’t dignify it with a response, and she starts her way up to the penthouse. Assuming she was right, and the dumbasses did binge drink or go nuts last night, she’s going to have her work cut out for her, cleaning it up.  She can see the mess in her head already and a migraine is already building in her temples. Tsuneko makes it to the lounge and a little over five minutes, because fuck Ichinomiya.
“Happy birthday!”
Voices ring out along with loud pops, confetti and glitter spraying into Tsuneko’s face and hair. She blinks a few time, thankful no glitter found its way into her eyes yet. Baba and Kisaki have party poppers, there’s a banner up that says happy birthday, Tsuneko with a painting of a dog beside the text.
No.
Not from them, nope.
“Bye.” Tsuneko promptly turns around and tries to leave the penthouse, but Baba wraps his arms around her in a bear hug just to lift her up and spin her back around.
“We went through all this trouble and you’re trying to leave, that’s not even fair, Koro.”
“I didn’t see you doing anything,” Oh calls him out,
“I painted the banner, otherwise Baba would have covered it in hearts or some other garbage.”
“It’s okay, I plan on showing Tsuneko my love in other ways.”
“Like holding me hostage?” She glares up at him and he finally lets her go, she doesn’t run, clearly, they’re not letting this go.
“Take a seat, princess, you don’t need to lift a finger for the rest of the night.” She rolls her eyes, well aware that if it’s not tonight, then tomorrow she’ll be cleaning up glitter which is a nightmare in itself.  Nonetheless, she plops herself into a chair.
“Ain’t kids supposed to be excited on their birthday, stop pouting.”
“I’m not pouting,” she says with a pout.
“Happy birthday to you~ Happy Birthday to you~” Baba brings out a cake, candles alight on top of it as he sings.
“Baba, you’re the only one singing, it’s just sad.” She presses a hand to her face, hiding the small flush on her cheeks, it’s sweet, cringey but sweet.
“Blow out the candles, princess.”
She wishes to get out being owned by them, the only thing that pops into her head, and blows them out. It’d be nice if blowing out candles actually granted wishes.
“What did you wish for?” Kisaki asks her.
“To get as far away from you lot as possible.”
“Well, if you tell someone it won’t come true, so that’s great news for us,” Baba teases as he starts to cut out pieces of the cake, she rolls her eyes, “here made with love.”
“Gross.”
But she’s already taking a bite, despite his sappiness. She can’t help the noise of pleasure as she takes a bite, sweet vanilla cake and chocolate chip cookie dough flavors mingling on her tongue.
“Do you like it?” Baba’s grinning because he already knows the answer, little shit that he is.
“You’re really good at baking.”
“Well, the way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach.”
“Then you go and ruin it with that shit.”
“Can we drink now?” Kishi buts in, more concerned with how sober he is at the moment than being pleasant.
“I’ll get the drinks,” Baba says, it’s starting to feel like he’s the errand boy when she’s not around and guilt eats at her heart that she’s just sitting while he runs around.
“I can h-”
“Nope, you aren’t lifting a finger, Tsuneko.” She sighs, watching him play busy bee while the others relax with no concern.
“You guys are just using my birthday as an excuse to get drunk, aren’t you?”
“Took you long enough.”
She rolls her eyes as Baba comes back into the lounge, serving the other men booze while he puts a mug of what smells like Chai Latte in front of her. Tsuneko didn’t even need to tell him that she wouldn’t want to drink, he just knows. It’s either sweet or creepy, she’s not sure. She murmurs a thanks and takes a drink, before a question pops into her head.
“Does the Hatter know it’s my birthday?” She knows he rarely if ever leaves the tearoom, but she hates that he might be getting completely left out of the celebration.
Kisaki lets out a loud groan, annoyed by her even mentioning the Hatter. Then she sees Ichinomiya smirking.
“Told you,” the hotel owner says as Kisaki hands him money.
“I thought she could at least go a day without mentioning that freak.”
“This is why you don’t bet against Eisuke.”
“Look here, you-”
“I told Maddy about your party,” Baba cuts her off, “he didn’t want to leave Wonderland, but he got you a present and wanted you to have a late party with him tomorrow.”
“He got me a present?” She can’t help but smile, knowing the Hatter, it’s something weird but sweet.
“We all did, of course.”
“You did?” She can’t help her confusion, the party is one thing, Baba basically did everything, and they all got an excuse to drink. But, each of them getting her a gift seems like more effort than she expected.
“What kind of cheapskate, do you take me for?” Ichinomiya sneers and shoots her a look of pure offense; how dare she even imply he wouldn’t buy someone a birthday gift.
“Knowing Eisuke, you won’t want his gift,” Oh warns her.
“Oh god, I didn’t even think of you all getting me purposely awful gifts,” dread settles in her stomach, “I think it’s time for me to go.”
Baba puts a hand on her shoulder and doesn’t let her get up, she pouts. This is going to be awful, nothing but insulting or degrading gifts, save for Baba’s and the Hatter’s.
“Don’t be like that princess, here, do you wanna open Maddy’s gift first.”
It’s a little box, wrapped neatly in teal and blue. She opens it carefully, inside is a little drawstring bag and a note. Tsuneko grabs the note first, the Japanese writing is rough and a little sloppy, he’s not great at it. Even that makes her smile, she can imagine how much effort he put in getting this as right as he could.
Dear Alice,
The happiest of birthdays to you~ I’m sorry I couldn’t leave Wonderland to celebrate with you, I’m afraid I’m just not capable of it. I hope you’ll come down tomorrow and we can celebrate then; you, me, and Cheshire of course. The gift I sent with Baba is more so from Cheshire than me, I’d rather save my present for you when we can meet in person. But, just a day or two ago, Cheshire came back from her walk with this beautiful stone. The moment I held it up to the light, I saw spectrums of violets and amethyst that reminded me of your eyes. I knew it must have been meant as a gift for you, Cheshire and I care for you deeply and hope you have the happiest of days today~
Her heart melts, that he would be so convinced that Cheshire was getting her a present. She undoes the little drawstring and find a rock, rough and jagged but she can see the glimmers of purple that he spoke about. Every little bit of dread she had about the others is gone.
“He got you a rock.” Kisaki says in disbelief.
“His cat got me a rock.”
“So, he didn’t get you anything?” Kishi chimes in.
“Now, now, we don’t need to question Tsuneko and the Hatter’s special relationship,” she glares, not liking the way Baba says special, “now, this one is from me.”
“At least the bar is set low,” Kisaki grumbles as she starts to unwrap Baba’s gift, his wrapped in red.
She expects something gross from Baba, either over the top sappy or something sexual. So, she’s pleasantly surprised when she sees a purse. It’s soft white, rectangular with a baby blue spade on it, meant to look like an ace of spades card. She was complaining just a week or so ago about how the strap on her favorite purse had snapped.
“It’s so cute!”
“I couldn’t find one with a three of spades card, but it still looks adorable on you.”
“Thank you, this is actually really practical and nice.” She’s already tucking the Hatter’s letter and Cheshire’s rock into the purse for safe keeping. Tsuneko is dreading the rest of these gifts.
“My gift next, I worked really hard and handmade this, so you better appreciate it, Koro.”
“It’s a collar isn’t it?” She cuts through the bullshit, not trusting dog boy for even a second. The glare and pout she gets tells her she’s right, this fucker really made her a collar.
“Just open it.”
She’s less careful opening this one, but once again she finds herself pleasantly surprised. She expected an actual dog collar with the buckle and a name tag, but instead it looks distinctly more like a fashionable choker. A soft baby pink band and a little gold heart shaped medal on it. It looks like something she’d actually wear.
“I hate that this is cute.”
“You think I’d give my pet something ugly?” Kisaki is the second one to sneer at her today.
“I’m not your pet, ass-”
“Who wants to go next?” Baba is once again there to stop the part from being a screaming match, he should
“We’re saving the best for last,” Ichinomiya comments, not moving to give his gift, clearly convinced his is the best. Knowing him it’s expensive and stupid.
“Here, brat,” Kishi throws what looks like a gas station plastic bag at her, she peers inside seeing four gashapon capsules you get from coin machines.
“Really, Mamo,” Baba scolds, but Kishi is snickering.
“What, kids love those kinds of toys.”
She pops open the first one, a little Hello Kitty figure, maybe it was a Sanrio themed machine? The second is Cinnamoroll, so that’s nice, she’s not crazy about figures as a whole. Tsuneko has always preferred stuffed animals, she’d rather they be nice to hug and cuddle with. But, she can’t deny how cute the characters are in any form. Next figure is Pompompurin, another cutie. Fourth and last one she pops open and her face falls, Gudetama. Ugh. By far her least favorite Sanrio character. Who thought an egg man was a good idea?
Not one to hide how she feels, she throws the Gudetama mini figure right into the trash. Everyone except Kishi, burst into laughter at the admittedly childish display of unappreciativeness, but she hates that fucking yolk man.
“What’d you do that for?”
“It was Gudetama.”
“So, you just throw away part of my gift?”
“Sanrio characters are supposed to be cute. If I wanted to be around something ugly and lazy, I’d just spend time with you.”
“You fucking brat.”
“Sor, you’re next,” Baba’s back at damage control duty.
“Here,” he tosses what looks to be a bullet proof vest at her, “you’ll need this for when you mouth off to the wrong person, again.”
“Those aren’t the kind of gifts you give women, Sor.”
“It’s practical, especially for her.”
“Thanks, I guess…”
“I can help test out it’s effectiveness if you want,” he says with the sinister little smirk he gets sometimes, she’s sure he’d love an excuse to shoot her over and over again.
“I’m good.”
“Well, that leaves you, Boss.”
“It’s not much, but here,” Ichinomiya shoves an envelope at her.
She tears it open and pulls out the document inside, her eyes go wide when she reads it. How did he, what? Tsuneko blinks a couple times as if that will change the document and reveal what it really his, but no matter what it doesn’t change.
“He probably bought her a deed to some land.”
“Or a company.”
“Don’t be ridiculous, those can wait for her next birthday, which I have no doubt she’ll be spending with us again.” He’s smirking but her usual desire to hit him is absent in the light of his gift.
“You payed off my student loans?” She asks, despite having the proof of it in her hand.
“That’s not even fair, Boss, how am I supposed to compete with that?”
“You aren’t.”
The back and forth between him and Baba is just white noise to her. She really didn’t think she’d ever get out from under her student loan debt, a huge factor in why she hasn’t tried to get back into school. But, just like that Ichinomiya wiped the debt clean. She could question it, how he got the information and clearance to do. Or this could be a ploy to get more control of her. But she doesn’t question or ruminate on any of that, instead she throws her arms around him in a sudden move, hugging him tight to her.
“Ah,” he makes a small noise of surprise, taken aback by the sudden affection, she finally managed to surprise him, “is that all it took to get you to throw yourself at me?”
“I’m too happy to yell at you, thank you, thank you so much,” she gushes as she nuzzles her face into his chest, she can feel his hands hesitant on her back, like a part of him wants to hug her back but he’s unsure if he should. Who knew one hug is all it would take to make to unnerve him?
“It wasn’t that much, besides I own you, so your debt became mine and I don’t like having debts.”
“Don’t care.” She finally pulls away after another squeeze of Ichinomiya’s thin frame, he’s so bony. Tsuneko thinks she catches a hint of red in his face, maybe he’s drunk too much or is overheating?
“You know, I could have paid those off for you too, pretty lady,” Baba says, and she wonders if he wishes he had gotten a hug.
It does seem unfair, when she thinks about it. Baba went to the trouble of all of this, but Ichinomiya is the one who got a hug just because he decided to go all out on her gift. He deserves more appreciation, as much fun as it is to tease him, he deserves some genuine affection.
“But, you didn’t,” Ichinomiya retorts, but his smirk falls when Tsuneko has her arms around Baba next.
“Thank you for doing all of this, I really appreciate it.”
He wraps his arms tight around her, surer and more confident in showing affection than Ichinomiya was.
“Anything for you, princess.”
“Ugh, get a room.” Kisaki pretends to gag at the sight of them and then Baba unceremoniously lifts her up. She can’t control the flush of heat in her face at being picked up, it’s rare that people can manage to lift her. Ichinomiya was able to do it for a brief time before, but he seemed to be struggling. Baba, however, has no trouble.
“If you insist,” he teases and acts like he’s going to pack her off into another room, not without spinning her around in his arms and making her laugh. She playfully hits his shoulder between her giggles and he instead dramatically drops into the chair she was sitting in, Tsuneko in his lap. The rest of the men are smiling or cracking up at his antics too.
Her heart is lighter than it has been in years. She never thought she’d feel this happy and content with this group of idiots, but here she is. Despite everything, it’s the best birthday she’s had in years.

A Murder of One
Tumblr media
Chapter:
14
Summary:
A well deserved break. Akiko has common sense and Miyuki,,,, doesn’t. And an unwanted visitor reigns havoc.
Previous Chapter | Origin | Next Chapter
“A picnic?” Kanao, Kiyo, Sumi, Naho, Aoi and Akiko tilt their heads at Shinobu, who smiles with her eyes closed.
“Mhm! A picnic! All the pillars will be there! Oh, and Inosuke, Zenitsu and Tanjirou have been invited as well!”
Akiko grimaces at the thought of all pillars being at the picnic. No doubt it’ll be rowdy, and she still hasn’t spoken to Giyuu in the past four months.
Akiko’s spent a decent amount of time with each and every pillar by now. She has a list of the pillars that she’s fond of: Mitsuri, Miyuki, her own teacher, Himejima, and Muichirou (sometimes). Uzui is nice, but he’s loud and he talks about his wives non stop and Akiko gets tired quickly around him.
Everyone else can rot in hell for all she cares.
Or, well, Sanemi is fine but only when he’s with Miyuki.
“I don’t think that’s a very good idea-”
“Kanon has volunteered to make all the food!”
“I’ll go.”
---
Out of pride, Inosuke is the one to carry all of the baskets of food to the picnic area, though it all started thanks to Akiko.
“Do you want me to carry your basket?” Tanjirou asks, worried because she’s also carrying her physician’s bag in her other hand. Akiko struggles and she’s sweating under the sun, but she’s as stubborn as always.
Inosuke pops up out of nowhere, violently snatching Akiko’s picnic basket and Tanjirou’s before going around to everyone and snatching their baskets.
So now Aoi is chasing after him, yelling at him to put the baskets down because, “There’s glass in there you idiot!! You’re ruining the food!!” while Zenitsu collapses to the floor in exhaustion.
Akiko rolls her eyes when he grapples at the hems of her blue hakama, begging Akiko to magically restore his stamina because, “THAT’S WHAT DOCTORS DO, RIGHT?!”
“Hey, Zenitsu, why don’t you carry Nezuko?” Akiko throws out, and Tanjirou looks at her with a disturbed look. When she raises a brow at him, Tanjirou starts to slip the box off his shoulders and Zenitsu squeals at the thought of carrying everyone’s precious Nezuko.
“Did you really have to do that?” Tanjirou asks Akiko, leaning down to whisper into her ear. She smiles and he can’t help but falter in her eyes, a blush adorning his face before he looks away.
“Well now I get to do this!” Akiko motions for Tanjirou to stay in place before walking a fair distance behind him. When he turns around to look at her, curious as to what’s going on, she tells him to continue looking forward.
He does as he’s told, but a little heads up would have made the outcome a lot better.
Akiko runs from behind Tanjirou, leaping onto his back as he falls forward. Her jaw drops when she hears his forehead smack the ground with a loud THWACK.
“TANJIROU?!”
Shinobu smiles at the sight, a hand on her cheek as she gushes, “Ahh~ Young love~”
Miyuki is already laying the picnic blanket out for everyone by the time Akiko and party arrive. Akiko wonders if the blanket will be enough, but Miyuki insists that it’ll be fine because some pillars might not even show up.
Akiko feels a weight lift from her shoulders and she patiently waits on the blanket, eyes searching high and low to see who will come.
Muichirou doesn’t come, as well as Uzui and Himejima. Kanroji shows up, but everyone quickly snatches what they want to eat in fear that she’ll eat it all before them. Unfortunately for Akiko, Iguro shows up too but she quickly realizes that he shows up for Mitsuri.
Sanemi doesn’t come to the picnic till later, and that’s only because Miyuki excused herself for a few minutes prior to his arrival, and dragged him by ear to everyone, demanding that he have a good time.
“You can’t just force me to have fun!” He yells and she rolls her eyes.
“Watch me!”
And so the two bicker instead, and now Akiko isn’t worried about anyone else being the rowdy ones.
Kanroji can’t help but burst into laughter at the ugly face Akiko pulls when Giyuu pulls up. He stays away from Akiko and links up with Miyuki in fear of the younger girl, especially since he sees her physician’s bag nearby.
The three girls continue to play nearby where Kanao and Akiko can see them, laughing and jumping around and climbing the trees before catching each other. Their hair gets all tangled with leaves and sticks, but they don’t seem to mind, and Akiko looks at them fondly as she’s reminded of her childhood.
“What a cute face you’re making there Tanjirou! It’s Akiko you’re looking at, hm?”
Akiko blinks in surprise at Shinobu’s teasing voice, breaking out of her thoughts before she looks up at Tanjirou who is seated next to her. She catches his gaze before he quickly looks away, and Akiko can’t help but look away too.
She tunes out Kanroji’s excessive squealing, instead focusing on the fact that the hand Tanjirou has wrapped around her own hand squeezes a bit tighter, and her heart skips a beat.
Some time throughout all the chaos, Miyuki and Sanemi’s bicker fest turns into a full blown war.
Akiko has no idea how it happened, but it did.
“I LOVE YOU BUT THIS MUST BE DONE.”
No one has time to react, their minds short circuiting as they watch Miyuki slam an ohagi into Sanemi’s face. Jaws drop, and everything goes silent. Even Inosuke doesn’t know what to say, as he’s usually used to Miyuki’s more calm nature.
Tanjirou flinches when he hears Akiko mutter a soft, “Holy shit,” under her breath, but he doesn’t comment considering the exact phrase blazed through his mind just now too.
“I’m… I’M GOING TO KILL YOU!!”
Panic and chaos.
Everyone is screaming and Giyuu is trying his best to hold Sanemi back. Tanjirou gets up too, pecking Akiko on the forehead as if he’s off to war and won’t be home for a long time. In the meantime, Akiko ignores Zenitsu crying as he prays to not die in the crossfire, and she also ignores Inosuke’s annoying laughter as he yells for a fight.
Instead, she takes Miyuki’s hand and tugs her away from the picnic, ordering the girls to make sure no one else follows suit. They salute Akiko despite their shaking frames, and Akiko smiles at them fondly.
“Don’t worry. If anyone loses a limb I’m here.”
“Akiko-san, did you predict this would happen?”
“Yeah! Is that why you brought your bag?”
Akiko looks at the mass slaughter in front of her, “Collectively, everyone here has two braincells. I have all of them.” And then she continues to tug Miyuki along.
Once a certain distance away, Akiko gets right to the point.
“Miyuki, you’ve done a lot for me these past few months so I’m gonna do something for you… You just told Sanemi that you love him.”
“Yeah? But platonically, y’know?”
“Wrong. You like Sanemi as more than friends.”
Miyuki’s eyes widen and Akiko is glad that Miyiki has come to her senses.
“BEST FRIENDS?!”
Never mind.
“Wh- No!”
“B- But then what else?”
It’s no use.
Akiko wants to slam Miyuki in the face with an ohagi now.
---
Another week passes by and everyone is out on a mission.
Akiko stays at the estate with the girls and her thoughts, and she’s surprised that there are no injured soldiers. She only has to assume that they’ve slowly become more competent.
Either that, or the threat of the Moons have subsided and there are less demons now.
Just by looking at a few patients, Akiko can see that it’s the calm before the storm.
“Akiko-san!” Aoi runs up to the girl, and Akiko smiles at both Kanao and Aoi. Her eyes glance over their intertwined hands, and the light in Akiko’s eyes glow a little brighter, enough for the other two girls to take notice.
Aoi seems to stutter over her next sentence, and Kanao as always doesn’t say anything. She’s smiling in an airheaded kind of way, but there’s a blush on her cheeks.
“Congratulations, you two,” Akiko pats both their heads as they look down to the floor, their faces darkening even more before Aoi pulls Kanao to scurry away. Akiko laughs under her breath, and her heart softens when she sees the relieved smiles on their faces as they turn a corner.
“Akiko-san?” Her attention is called away again and Akiko looks down at the three little girls, who look a bit timid being near her.
“W-We were wondering... “ Kiyo starts, twiddling her thumbs before Naho decides to pipe in.
“We think we should have a girl’s day out! With Kanao-sama, Aoi-chan, Kanon-san, and you!” She then steps back, shy once more before mumbling in, “If that’s alright with you…”
Akiko brightens at the idea, and she crouches down to the same height as the girls. They smile back at Akiko when she also gives them head pats, agreeing that the idea sounds wonderful.
“Akiko-san, you’re a bit different now!” Sumi chimes in, and Akiko looks at her quizzically.
“Well, we remember what you were like when you first came to the estate!” Kiyo starts, and the girls nod their head.
Akiko’s hair used to be long and straight, though over time she couldn’t maintain her straight hair and let it curl naturally. She wore a black kimono on the daily, but now her colors are a lot more light, and she seems less constricted.
The girls always thought Akiko to be a tired grump, what with her eye bags and dull face. But they came to realize that it was something more than lack of sleep.
Because yeah, Akiko still has her eye bags, but her ashy pale complexion has pigmented more and she’s smiling again.
“Was there anything wrong with what I looked like when I first arrived?” Akiko asks curiously, and the girls giggle to themselves.
They dash off without any further explanation and Akiko can only wonder what they mean.
The next day, Kanon braids and ties everyone’s hair as per usual before they all decide to set out. Kanao clips Aoi’s two butterfly pins for her and Aoi does the same, and Akiko can’t help but wink at the two.
Even Sumi, Naho and Kiyo have caught on, and they continue to whisper to themselves about the romance within the estate.
Akio makes sure that the straw hat on Sumi’s head is nestled on safely, and she pats the girl’s cheek before standing back up at her full height.
“You’re wearing such a nice dress today, Akiko-san!” Naho gushes, and the girls dance around Akiko’s frilly dress.
They cheer Akiko on to twirl for them, so she does, and they scream with delight. Akiko feels like a princess with all the praise, and it’s been a long time since she’s felt like such a child. She even has some silk gloves one, and a nice parasol to shade herself with.
“Is there an occasion for dressing up?” Kiyo asks aloud, but Akiko shakes her head.
“I just thought it’d be a nice change of pace for today-”
“ISN’T TANJIROU-SAN COMING BACK TODAY?!” All three girls cry out, and they start screaming again without allowing Akiko to even answer.
Akiko’s about to shush them, opening the door of the front entrance, when she feels an arm wrap itself around her waist.
“Huh-?”
“Eeep!! Akiko-san!!”
The parasol drops from her hands as Akiko is too stunned to speak, eyes wide as her body dangles in the arm of a stranger. When she looks up, she sees that Aoi is on top of the person’s shoulder and faces Kanao.
Just by looking at the stranger’s weapons, Akiko figures out that it’s Uzui Tengen, and she starts to yell at him, demanding that she be put down. Kanon even looks too surprised, and the three girls start crying.
“Please stop iiiiit!”
“Let them gooo!!!”
“Uzui you better let me down or I swear I’ll let you bleed out on my table!” Akiko flails around, hitting his arm multiple times but to no avail. Her punches feel like soft taps, and Akiko continues to curse.
“Ka- Kanao!!” Aoi cries out, reaching for her girlfriend with a face so urgent Akiko’s stomach turns. But Kanao stays rooted, her mind falling depths as she begins to sweat.
Akiko can see her thoughts, they’re as clear as day, and she knows that there’s a war raging in Kanao right now.
Her hand moves to reach for her coin, but it stops when Aoi screams out her name again. Akiko doesn’t need Zenitsu’s ears to hear the hope in Aoi’s voice, and Kanao drives herself to make her own decision.
Akiko’s eyes widen as she grasps a warm hand, her jaw dropping when she sees that Kanao has made her own decision to stop Uzui.
“Kanao…” Aoi begins to cry.
“Don’t pull on me so plainly. You have your orders,” Uzui snaps, but Kanao can’t do much else besides keep her feet planted.
“JUST SAY SOMETHING!! YOU PLAIN BORING PERSON!!” Akiko flinches when Uzui suddenly yells, and Kiyo shrieks in panic.
“Ch- CHARGE!!”
“Wait girls nO-”
Kiyo, Sumi and Naho throw themselves at Uzui, handing off his legs and arms as they try their best to do… Whatever it is that they intend to do.
“Hey… DAMMIT CUT THE CRAP!!”
“What are you doing to the girls!! Get your hands off them!!” Tanjirou’s voice breaks Akiko out of her shock and she stares at him with wide eyes.
Akiko hates to admit, but right now Tanjirou is her knight in shining armor.

pride week - day 5 - AU free-for-all so this AU is a crossover because when i first looked at the prompt i was like half-asleep and thought it said crossover. whoops.
--
He’s coming to the conclusion that Kiyotaka’s family is just fucking weird. He’s still not exactly sure what their relationship status is, since they’ve only been on like two and a half dates that might have not even been dates and nothing between them seems to have actually changed - but even speaking as a best friend, it was just really fucking bizarre
The other sections of the bake sale that did not have an entire bottle’s worth of food coloring dumped into the mix did exceedingly well, letting them schedule trips to meet up and hang out with the GSAs from other colelges in the area. It was a neat little idea Makoto and Kiyotaka had come up with on their own time that also kinda made Mondo want to punch himself in the face.
It mostly just starts with this: he thinks he has competition.
The reason he thinks this is because Leon tells him he does. They’re meeting with MU in a bowling alley that’s somewhere in between both schools and while it’s not the only GSA in the area, it is the only one available or interested in reaching out to them. And the gaggle of students who pick to play against them in a four-on-four match just happens to consist of three rough looking boys and one chick.
Striek one. It’s not exactly a secret that Taka has a type, and that type is punks. (Well, and Makoto; but he’s everybody’s type, so he doesn’t count.) He’s never said out loud that he finds that kinda thing appealing, but Hifumi’s Halloween Theme suggestion, “Book of Eibon” (which earned him the group name moniker Anime Trash) really took. People dressed as whatever they found most attractive - or in Hifumi’s and Chihiro’s cases, the kind of aesthetic they really dug.
Hifumi’s magical girl outfit was absolutely outstanding. They really did have to give him that.
...where was he? Right. Taka had shown up to the party in all secondhand clothes, studded belt and motorcycle boots and fake piercings, pleather jacket over an embroidered white vest covered in safety pins. It sure as shit left an impression.
And it was such a goddamn come-on. he’d thought before then that Taka’s staring was judgmental and had a hard time stringing two words together at the implication that he was staring because he was attracted to Mondo.
Not that Mondo was the only punk in the group. Tanaka flushed and tried to hide beneath his scarf, realizing too late he didn’t have it included in the regal get-up he came dressed in. And Leon said to Mondo, “If I wasn’t straight, I’d so hit that.”
Leon figured out pretty quickly that he wasn’t straight, and also that Taka was way off limits.
Mondo’s been trying to figure out how to take a more direct approach, since Taka’s misconstrued all his flirting as friendliness. Which - okay, yeah. He’s kind of learned along the way that he might also be in love with the guy platonically, too. he is the best friend, in terms of quality, that Mondo’s ever had, and he doesn’t plan on that shit changing just ‘cause he wants to add hand-holding into the mix.
So strike two is this: Ishimaru seems to actually know the guy in too much purple who practically launches himself at him. They embrace in a tight hug, and that smug asshole has his hairstyle too. Rude. Utterly, unbelievably rude.
The guy introduces himself as Josuke. He looks like he might be a couple years older than them, with pretty blue eyes. He’s the president of the MU GSA, which he does not hesitate to tell Kiyotaka, “I love what you did with the name, dude. Very kewl.”
Kewl. Like he’s fucking twelve and it’s the nineties.
Taka blushes like he does when he’s embarrassed or flattered and it takes a lot for Mondo not to slug the guy. He’s really only distracted from Kiyotaka’s refusal of the credit by the guy with the little ponytail and two-toned grey hair saying to him “Hey, man, nice mods,” referring to his jacket.
He’s kind of forgotten about it. He doesn’t wear the longer coat he had in high school anymore because yeah, he’s not in high school anymore, thank you very much Daiya. “Uh, thanks,” he says, but the shorter one with the kinda silvery blonde hair is smirking at it, mouthing the words Crazy Diamonds under his breath. Like it’s some kind of joke.
“I’m Okuyasu,” he says, and nudges the blonde so hard the guy almost falls over. “Shit, sorry - this is Koichi.”
“Right,” he says, not liking the look of private joking between the two of them. “I’m Mondo.”
“I’m Leon,” Leon all but shouts, almost crawling on Mondo’s back to extend his hand to the two boys and - of course, of fucking course - the girl with the knee-length black hair. “And you are?”
“Yukako,” she says, and Mondo’s never before heard someone say their own name with such deep and intense hatred.
There’s not a single thing about these people he trusts. The guys might seem nice, but he’s always hated the feeling that people are laughing at him. And that girl? She looks like she’s ready to commit murder.
At least the jackass in the purple-and-yellow shirt is done taking up Kiyotaka’s time, only that Kiyotaka looks kind of embarrassed now. He’s not sure if that’s better or worse than his flustered face. But he punches in their names on the board to distract himself, and Josuke comes up to Mondo and sits so close their knees are touching. “So,” he says, “You’re his kyoudai, huh?”
“Kyoudai?” Okuyasu says. “Man, how come we can’t get cool nicknames like that?”
“Yes, please start calling each other bro. That won’t get irritating at all,” Yukako snipes from where she’s sitting.
“Yukako, come on,” Koichi says, turning to look back at her. “You promised you’d be nice today.”
She looks torn, but sighs, and Mondo thinks he hears her mutter “Only for you.”
“Dude,” Leon says, “You gotta teach me.”
--
One thing Mondo can say about the kids from MU is that, except for Yukako, they suck at bowling. And that does make him feel a little better, if only in a shallow way.
It’s kind of irritating, and that irritation must be obvious to everyone involved, because Kiyotaka has tried his best to keep Mondo and Josuke separated. Leon’s pretty chill, and Makoto can make friends with everyone, but it just seems strange to Mondo that he spent so long trying to get on friendly terms with Taka only for some other guy - a complete stranger from a different school to just undermine that -
Makoto pats his shoulder, like the way you’d pet a dog to soothe it. “Calm down, Mondo,” he says. “He’s just being friendly.”
Maybe he is. Mondo can accept that there exists, somewhere, a possibility that Josuke is just a nice guy, like a punk version of Makoto, but he’s gotten so deep in his own sense of insecurity and paranoia that every time Josuke so much as talks at him or is friendly with Kiyotaka...
Well, it feels like he’s being mocked.
He might be a little jealous.
And when Taka leaves to head out to the bathroom, he might call Josuke’s hair stupid.
Koichi, for whatever that’s worth, and Okuyasu and he goddamn swear Yukako’s hair all jump in to restrain Josuke from throwing punches. Leon slaps his arm at the same time Makoto smacks his head, both of them shouting some variant of “You have the same hair!” and the end result is the five of them tell the two of them to go resolve their differences by the snack bar, and work something out fast before Taka comes back and panics.
“I don’t get what your issue with me is,” Josuke says, hands in the air. “We picked this group to go up against because Taka said you were cool. Now you’re just acting like Rohan used to, and I didn’t even burn your house down!”
Confusion mixes with anger as he says, with feeling, “What?!”
“Never mind!” Josuke snaps. “Just - whatever your problem with me is, just say it, man. Quit giving me dirty looks. It’s making Kiyo upset.”
KIYO?! Mondo hits the counter with a little too much force and says “That’s my goddamn problem!” And before Josuke can give him some other ridiculous pet name he says “We’re like - we’re - we’re kind of - !” Jesus. Jesus Christ, why can’t he just get the fuckin’ words out? “I’m inta him!”
“Yeah, and?” Josuke asks.
“And you’re fuckin’ flirting with him! Of course I got a damn issue with you!” Josuke looks blindsided for a couple seconds, and then he bursts into laughter. “And then you go an’ do this shit, shovin’ it in my face!”
“Dude!” Josuke has the audacity to put his hand on Mondo’s shoulder, ignoring every time Mondo tries to throw it off. For someone as thin as Josuke looks, he’s unfairly strong. “Dude. I am not flirting with him. That’s so gross.”
Two-faced bastard! “You got a fuckin’ problem with my friend?!”
“Dude. He’s my cousin.”
“Yer - what?” Mondo blinks, all his pent up energy dissipating in the shock. “Then - then what the fuck were you sayin’ ta him to make ‘im blush?”
“I’m teasing him about you, ya dweeb.” He snorts. “God. No. I’m not flirting with my fuckin’ cousin. And even if we weren’t related, I’m not gonna hit on some guy in front of my boyfriends.”
“Oh.” He’s...totally deflated now. And feels like an asshole. “Uh...” Great. “I’m sorry fer bein’ such an asshole,” he grumbles.
Josuke lets it slide rather easily, shrugging it off. “Don’t worry about it. I’ve had worse interactions.”
Mondo still rubs the back of his head, anxiously, and he’s still not all that comfortable with Josuke’s smirk. “Gotta say,” he admits, “I never woulda thought the two of you were related. Ya don’t exactly look alike.”
Josuke shoves his hands in his pockets and leans back against the counter. “Well, it’s not by blood or anything. His dad married my ne- uh, I mean, my uncle -” Was he just going to say nephew? “But we take family very seriously, and we’re...kind of a large family.”
For a second, he looks almost depressed by his own statement, eyes kind of foggy, lips pulled down and staring at his boyfriends with some kind of intense anxiety. He sighs, and slaps Mondo on the back. “Let’s just get back to the game, ‘kay? I think Taka’ll be happier when we get along.”
He feels like he missed something, but says “Sure, okay,” following Josuke back to their seats.
Whatever it is that’s on his mind, it’s either passed or he’s hidden it by the time they’ve reached their friends. Josuke reacts to Kiyotaka’s suspicious glare by ruffling his hair. “So, Kiyo -”
“Don’t call me that,” he groans.
And Josuke ignores him. “A former delinquent with a bad temper, huh? I bet your stepdad’s gonna love that.”
Kiyotaka lets out a scream, and drops the bowling ball to the floor. Mondo tries to pretend he doesn’t see something faintly pink and blue grabbing it just before it hits the ground.

Was Korekiyo Shinguji Innocent?
!tw: lots of abuse topics !!This is very long but there’s a TLDR at the bottom !!!Danganronpa spoilers ahead for V3 (obviously)
Cough oh shit look at that, discourse which no one cares about because I’m irrelevant.
No but seriously, I want to make this perfectly clear before I begin, I am writing this while throwing away my biases and being as open-minded as I always try to be. This is going to be an incredibly long post about what people think about Korekiyo Shinguji, and that reasons for disliking him isn’t as shallow as just disapproving of the actions he took in the game. If you’re interested about what I have to say, click keep reading, if you just want a shorter version of what I meant there’s a TLDR at the bottom.
Oh wow you actually clicked it? Wait, wait, gotta keep this professional. So I’ll be splitting the topics around Korekiyo as; Storyline, Character Design and Personality, Fandom’s Backstory Headcanons, The “Main Problem”, and a Conclusion. Remember, you don’t have to read all of it, there’s still a TLDR at the bottom, but thanks for giving this a chance!
Danganronpa V3 Storyline
We are all aware at this point at what happened in V3 regarding Shingucci, and if you aren’t aware, then why are you reading this-
Throughout the first chapter Korekiyo is mostly just neutral and calm throughout everything, but still a little creepy with a few off hand comments about the beauty of humanity. Similar events happen in Chapter 2, calm, not really bothered by his fellow Ultimates no matter how bizarre some of them are. Rather helpful in the trial but still annoyed by Himiko’s insistence on genuine magic and continues to theorise how she could be the culprit, but was still mostly the same even after seeing Kirumi’s undignified exit and execution at the end of the trial. Chapter 3 rolls around and Angie decides to try and resurrect one of our fallen Ultimates, Kiyo decides to hold a seance to communicate with one of the lost spirits as well, but of course this is just a murder plan in disguise to send his sister more “friends”. Angie accidentally walks in on Kiyo mid-saw-cutting and to make sure she couldn’t tell anyone about his plans later on, he hits her over the head then brings her to her own lab, ends her life, and sets up a lock mechanism to lock the lab with the corpse in it.
He continues his seance plan due to ‘not wanting it to go to waste’, and says the next day they should use it to contact Angie. More stuff happens and Kiyo’s pleased with Tenko being such a good candinate to be his sister’s friend, and proceeds to kill her with the plan he originally set up. (While also setting it up so he could almost perfectly pin it on Himiko.) During the trial he’s as composed as ever but as more clues show him towards him being the culprit to both of the murders, he becomes increasingly more erratic, and the tulpa split personality of his sister appearing to calm him, but he eventually admits to being the culprit. After the trial he confesses his reasoning, the incestuous relationship with his older sister who he swore to send 100 (female) friends to after her sickly passing. Obviously, people were going to be disgusted by the incestuous relationship he had with his older sister, but that’s not always the reason people are going to dislike him in the story.
Korekiyo obviously hadn’t done much in the first two chapters aside from being helpful in the trials, and people don’t particularly like it when characters they like are killed, in Chapter 3 that concerns Angie, Tenko, and Kiyo. Angie was increasingly infuriating towards her demise, with the Student Council and the actions she took for what she wanted with the school, but was still an enjoyable character with her cheery attitude and honestly good intentions. Tenko both is and isn’t quite popular, with her resentment of men (which I won’t get into because that’s another topic entirely) gaining her hate, but her good intentions and wishes for friendship making her a likeable character. Kiyo hadn’t done much to establish his character side from being creepy, calm, and neutral, which doesn’t put much towards liking him if there’s no reason to, that isn’t to say there’s a reason to dislike him, just that there’s not enough events to show him in a highly positive light.
Character Design & Personality
To be perfectly fair, Kiyo’s final design was pretty well made in terms of appearance. By Kodaka taking a combination of multiple sorts of imagery, including underground culture, anthropology, and visual style, made him pleasing to look at aesthetically and in terms of genuine character. People can dislike him but still see his positive points essentially, at least design wise.
His personality is essentially what was previously mentioned, neutral, calm, creepy sometimes, and that’s essentially it. During the third trial he quickly became panicky when it was becoming obvious he had killed both Angie and Tenko (side note: it was extremely obvious he had killed Tenko from the start, Angie was the difficult one) but was calmed down by the ghost of his sister, also claiming he was deeply in love with her with what seemed to be genuine sincerity. There is also the fact that Kiyo felt no guilt for killing all those women to send to his sister, and seemed to consider everyone in the academy his “friends”, indicating he’s unable to understand or care about what other people feel. In the end he finally accepts his defeat and is executed by Monokuma and the later appearance of his sister’s spirit, causing his last expression to be disbelief and horror as both of them banish his spirit to the afterlife. The point of this paragraph is that although I understand why people can like his personality, people are allowed to dislike the kind of person he is by finding him boring, maybe a little annoying, selfish for having no regards for what the other characters felt, and it’s fine, because even if people dislike his personality they can still see why people like his personality.
Fandom’s Backstory Headcanons
Of course to start off with, there’s the canonical backstory of Korekiyo that we were given through FTEs and the storyline.  Kiyo had a sickly older sister who almost constantly required to be in the hospital, since she was lonely without friends Kiyo would spend all of his time with her. One day reading a book about Anthropology with his sister who suggested he could research it, motivating him to become an anthropologist. His sister normally picked most things for him, his hair, tailoring his uniform, and so on. According to Korekiyo, he had an incestuous relationship with her, believing it was truly love with no care of what others thought, although at some point his sister died. Left alone and frustrated he swore to kill and send 100 friends to her since she had none in her lifetime, we’re also able to assume he got somewhere close to that number before his death though. (side note: I personally headcanon that Tenko was the 99th “friend”). While travelling he had been captured and tortured by locals, leading him to hallucinate his sister that calmed him down, which also caused him to form a split personality/tulpa.
Since that’s about all the information we were given, of course it left the fandom theorising and wondering about possibilities. There’s the semi-popular headcanon of Kiyo that he was abused by that sister, of course there’s obvious signs of manipulation in their relationship, telling him how to act, dress, talk, what to do and like and so on. The headcanon is also backed up by canon, which essentially does imply he was manipulated and abused by the sister, as he spent so much time with her that she relied on him.
(Personal Experience Ahead, I don’t mind it if you skip) I tried to force myself to like Kiyo. I really did. I thought that with this idea it does explain his actions better than the canon did. But I couldn’t. I was and still am abused by my older sister for a decade now, emotionally/psychologically, verbally, and physically. Now leaving me medically diagnosed with anxiety (social and generalised), depression, and PTSD. While the fandom seems to say Kiyo had been abused psychologically and some add sexually abused. Abuse is a difficult topic to talk about, even bringing it up in this sense has brought back horrible memories from my life, if you do genuine research or know from experience what that abuse like that is like, it’s fine and I wish the best for you. But please do not just slap “abused” on like a label, like it justifies his actions. I said previously it explains it, not justifies. The “Main Problem”
I’m sure some people would be aware this was coming, if you have knowledge of V3′s full game, simply hearing Kiyo’s name will remind you of the third trial.
Korekiyo’s sister. Implied to be abusive, manipulative, constantly sick, dependant on Kiyo, now deceased, and previously in an incestuous relationship with him. The things Kiyo said about her would obviously throw everyone off, incest is quite revolting, so of course people would dislike him after hearing he was in a relationship with his older sister.
But that does not mean it’s the only reason to dislike Korekiyo.
(Intense) Kiyo fans immediately go to hating on and blaming the canon whenever someone says they dislike him, assuming they’re always referring to the sister relationship for their dislike. That is not always going to be the reason. Yes, the presence of the incestuous relationship is problematic if you want people to like Kiyo, but please don’t always assume it’s because of the third chapter. It’s as simple as having an open conversation, not attacking the creators, the character, or the person you’re disagreeing with, then if you can’t reach a conclusion, just agree to disagree and leave it there.
Conclusion I guess
Obviously most of this was just covering what we already knew, but reminding information is normally necessary for things like this. Did I just waste hours of my time writing an essay on a fictional character? Yes. Do I expect everyone to agree? No. Do I mind? No. Was there a reason to make this? Yeah, kinda. I just want to lay it out there that people are entitled to their own opinions, free speech and all that good shit. So people are allowed to decide whether they like Kiyo or not, just don’t hate them or assume and scream that it’s only because of chapter 3 that they dislike him. Everyone can have an opinion, people like Kiyo for their own reasons, people dislike Kiyo for their own reasons, V3 is done and finished. If you’re still unsatisfied you can go ahead and argue with me, I’ll try to stay level headed and hear you out.
TLDR: People can have opinions. Kiyo stans don’t always assume it’s because of the sister that people dislike Kiyo, you can say he’s underrated or overrated it doesn’t matter either way, just don’t shove it down people’s throats. You’re all entitled to your own opinions and ideas, as long as you can reach a conclusion together that doesn’t end in hate it should be fine.
Either way, if you read this far I hope you have a good day/night! Stay hydrated, eat some snacks and all that jazz!

Reveal Au part 1
A Fallen Hero Fanfic
Alright, new series!!! =D
So a couple things before you read, this is based on several past prompts (One where Steel sees sidestep’s scars and one with how that situation happened), there will definitely be spoilers in this one, and Kiyo has the suicidal scar!!! (so there will be content based off that).
Plans in Motion
Kiyo:
You pace back and forth, worry gnawing at your thoughts. That fucking idiot, always sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong and now he's let himself get captured by Hollow Ground. Who knows what’s happening to him… he might already be dead… You let out a frustrated growl grabbing the nearest object intending to throw only to be interrupted by a cough.
“I would prefer you not break that since it contains acid,” Mortum leans against the doorway of his lab and you sigh placing container gently back down, “I know you’re worried Kiyo-”
You bark out a laugh, “I think I’m a little beyond worried right now.” Your nails dig into the palms of your hands, you don’t know what to do. There’s no plan, there hasn’t been since Ortega decided to come back into your life. You had, had one; become a villain and use every bit of yourself to take down the farm even if it led to your own self-destruction. But that’s gone out the window, Ortega showing up and refusing to leave you alone… again.
The present mirrors the past but it’s obviously different now. Like a spot the difference game where the people look the same but the entire scenery is different. And not all the people are there anymore, replaced by shiner new models. You shake your head, it doesn’t matter if there are new players in the game. It’s the fact that Ortega and Chen are...Fuck.
Ortega drags you back into his life causing the chaos he always brings with him and suddenly Steel is Chen and you want to fight every fiber of your being just to have a life. You should just leave him in Hollow Ground’s hands, let him suffer and die- you can’t do that… you could never do that to him.
“Fuck!” Your hands grip your hair and you fully intend to just tear it all out when Mortum puts a hand on your shoulder. You let out a frustrated sob and turn into him letting him wrap his arms around you in a hug. Mortum has been a surprisingly good investment… No, you should say he’s been a good friend. More understanding than you would have expected him to be but also cautious.
You’ve noticed it’s much harder to read his mind and though that put you on edge it also puts you at ease. He’s not hiding the fact that he’s being cautious around you, that he might like you but he doesn’t fully trust you. You prefer that over Ortega’s blind trust and optimism he has in you.
“I’ve already got my contacts looking for him,” Mortum murmurs to you, squeezing you tight, “As soon as I know where he is I’ll let you know.” You nod your head against him and you wait a moment before you pull away.
“I should get the suit ready,” you say already reaching out to wake up the Rat King, who happily responds back to you. You stop mid-step turning to really look at Mortum. He smiles at you sadly, worry creasing his brow, “Thank you.”
“Well I may owe Charge one or two things,” he coughs out a laugh, “And you’re my… friend. So I may as well help you look out for someone you love too.”
You can feel a blush starting to heat up your face as you start to stutter, “What? No… I..uhh.. No love..” He smiles quirking his eyebrow at you. “I was...using him and it was only a couple kisses and..”
“Kiyo,” he laughs at you exasperated.
“You know that can’t happen…”  you frown at him willing your blush away. Mortum you had no choice but to trust with the truth but Ortega? Chen? The Rangers? You can’t do that, you can’t face the disgust they’ll feel when they know the truth. You can’t face the inevitable betrayal when they try to hand you back over to the farm.
“I think you should give him more credit,” Mortum’s smile softens into a slight frown. Probably remembering your break down when he was in the middle of saving your life. How you begged him to just let you die because you didn’t want to go back to that hell.
You shake your head in response, “I’ll give him credit when he stops being a fucking idiot.”
“That may be a long time off than,” he turns waving his hand letting you get back to readying your suit.
“Yeah,” you mutter sadly but you can already feel Rat King brushing gently against your mind trying it’s best to offer you comfort. “Thank you.” It responds by happily snuggling against your mind and you can’t help the small smile that makes its way to your face.
Steel:
You find yourself glaring at the supposed building that holds Ortega captive, along with a small army of people between your team and him. The frustration you feel is almost unspeakable; the fact that Ortega decided to go after Hollow Ground alone with no backup just brings home the irritating point that you have no control over your team... or at very least you have no control over Ortega. You wish he would stop this spiral of self-destruction, you thought he would with Kiyo back in his life.
A thought that irritates you more than you would ever like to admit. You thought it was over and done with, being jealous of Ortega’s and Kiyo’s relationship but now it’s become more twisted and complicated. Kiyo keeps seeking you out as a place of comfort; away from Ortega who smothers him in worry, away from Herald who idolizes someone who no longer exists, away from Argents when he steals her snacks. He kept being drawn to you, though you throw actual blame on him being more interested in being around Spoon.
You started to notice things that would have been better left unfound. The way he smiles and laughs around Spoon always seems genuine, a rarity that you found yourself looking forward to. He’s more honest with you about how he’s really holding up. Trusting you with something he would have never told Ortega. He’s attractive in surprising ways- No you need to focus on Ortega and not in the way Ortega is just as attracti- God-fucking-damnit.
“What’s the plan?” Herald asks standing nervously beside you. His stance shifting slightly as he also eyes the building. You're going to have to keep him out of the building and you can already feel a headache from his protests that are soon to come. But tight corridors and the ability to fly never seem to mix well and if Ortega's badly injured Herald needs to be ready to get him out of here.
“We go in, bash some heads, and save our idiot,” Argent responds for you her, no doubt adding kicking Ortega’s ass to her own list of things she's planning. You don't blame her, you too want to strangle him at this point. Letting himself be captured and to make it worse he let it happen in front of Kiyo. You can still see how numb Kiyo was after having to watch Ortega willingly be taken. How broken he looked because he couldn't do anything.
“We need to plan this,” you respond, “They will most likely have high security-”
“Are you all just going to stand here awkwardly glaring at the building? Because if that’s your plan on rescuing your ‘idiot’ it’s a shit plan,” A growling distorted voice comes from behind you and it takes a few seconds to comprehend what your hearing. Argent immediately turns to lunge at Heartbreak who easily dodges her attack. “Now, now I’m not here to fight you,” they hold up their hands in a placating manner, “Not today at least.”
You find yourself gritting your teeth, why are they here? To lead you all into a trap is the most likely answer. Get you all to go into the building and then help Hollow Grounds men pick you off one by one.
“How about we postpone the later and start the part where I kick your ass now,” Argent growls, though her face has contorted into a hungry grin. Goddamnit, you don’t have time for this and neither does Ortega.
“As fun as that sounds, I think we all have more pressing matters to attend to,” they tilt their head pointing to the building behind you, “Hollow Ground took something of yours and he took something of mine as well. As much as I despise all of you I know I can’t take on all his men alone and you happen to need a way in preferably a place where you find your stolen teammate fast.”
You cross your arms glaring at them, “You want to work with us.”
“More like… I want our goals to align in equal for a moment,” they shrug, “Or you could do whatever it is you’re planning and fail horribly but I at least will get a distraction out of it to achieve my own goals.”
You study them carefully, their entire suit screams of someone who prefers to give orders rather than follow them. They're not on your side and you can't trust them. Herald apparently fully agrees with you.
“You're a villain why would we ever help you?!” his fists tighten against his sides, you can already tell he's still put out about his first fight with Heartbreak.
“Listen I get it, you're all goody two shoes,” they pause in their arm sweep at Argent, “ Except you of course,” Argent snorts in response crossing her arms, “but flyboy here won't be able to fight in a crowded corridor and your ‘charge first think later’ player is who you’re going to save. Meaning you’re down two people and that you'll need to move a lot faster than is really possible or risk having your idiot killed.”
They pause a moment watching as you grit your teeth. Herald tries to let out a protest but you hold out your hand to stop him. “ And what exactly do you have in mind?”
“I'm so glad you asked,” they fold their arms behind their back. You pray for Ortega's sake you don't regret this.

(thank you. ...wait did you mean resend it right now...?) NDRV3 guys reacting to their S/O blacking out and collapsing? And when she comes to she tries to tell them it wasn't a big deal cause it always happens? Please and thank you! (I'm so sorry that I was being so annoying. I was just nervous and stupid. Thank you!)
So yeah, fun story, I had already started to work on the ask when we started splitting what was left in our inbox and we accidentely replied to the first request in private. We’re really sorry for all the trouble and the stress that it might have caused you and the fact that mobile didn’t allow me to reply in private probably didn’t help.
Tumblr media
It was a fun ask to do, thanks to all those who helped me with ideas, you know who you are lol, and thanks for requesting and putting up with our mistakes. I hope you’ll like it :) Also I kinda feel like some of them are repetitive, if it’s the case, please forgive me ;-;
-Mod Nagito
Ps: It’s under the cut because Kiyo’s kinda have some slight spoilers about his FTE?????? So yeah
Shuichi
Instant panic.
The moment his s/o collapses, Shuichi manages to catch them and set them gently somewhere safe.
Worried as he is, he does his very best to remain calm, checking their vital signs and calling an emergency health line.
If they’re at his or their place, he’s going to set them on the closest bed, but if they’re in public he’s going to set their head on his knees to make sure they’re somewhat comfortable.
Either way he won’t leave their side until they wake up, periodically checking their pulse.
As soon as they open their eyes he insists they keep laying down (unless they can’t) and take it easy.
He has a lot of questions to ask them, but all of them are cut short when S/o tells him it’s normal for them and that he shouldn’t worry about this.
Of course he’s going to do the opposite.
Shuichi’s going to lead his own little investigation on the side, making some researches, asking their doctor and checking their habits.
If it’s because they don’t eat enough, he’s going to make sure they do, bringing them snacks and reminding them to eat when they seem to forget.
If it’s out of dehydration he’s going to bring them drinks every once in a while to make sure they stay hydrated.
And finally if it’s because they overwork themselves he’s going to insist they take a break and do something with him after a few hours of work, even if that something is simply cuddling and sleeping.
And in a certain way, since he too tends to overwork himself, it helps him not to either so it’s sort of a win-win situation if you ask me.
Keebo
When his s/o blackout, he doesn’t react at first.
It happens to him sometimes so…
Though the moment he realise humans are not supposed to crash like that he starts to panic.
He has no idea what to do.
Is it because of him? Of something he did?
How does this work? What is he supposed to do?
He’s a robot, there’s no way he knows that!
What if he does the wrong thing and they die because of him?!?!?!?!?!
The first thing he does is making sure they’re not in immediate danger.
Once he’s sure they’re safe he stays with them until they come around, worrying about what could have caused them to blackout like this.
The second they open their eyes, S/o is bombarded with questions by their robo-boyfriend.
Are they okay? What happened? Why did they do this? Are they feeling alright? How many fingers is he holding?
When he finally calmed down, they shrugged what had just happened, saying it was something usual for them and that he shouldn’t worry too much.
No matter what they say he’s sure going to worry about it anyway and makes tons or research on this.
Most of the time, when someone blacks out or collapse it’s either because they haven’t eaten enough recently or lack sleep, so Keebo is going to make extra sure they eat enough, drink enough and sleep enough.
He’s not going to allow this to happen to his s/o ever again, not under his watch.
Kokichi
At first he takes it as a joke.
“Trying to scare me, I see~.”
He’s going to lightly kick them as a joke but as soon as he sees they’re not reacting, he’s starting to ask questions.
“S/o?”
He poked their face a few times, trying to get them up but still didn’t get any reaction.
By that point, he started to get worried.
His s/o collapsed in the middle of the room without an apparent reason and he has no idea what to do.
He just basically spent the rest of the time they were out cold staying by their side, worriedly poking them, until he got an idea.
A wonderful awful idea.
An idea that would give them a crave for murder.
Going straight to the kitchen, the trickster filled up a bucket of cold water and dropped it on poor S/o, who finally came back to their sense.
Let’s say they weren’t really… happy with that.
Chased down the house, the liar kept thinking back to what happened and couldn’t help but start to worry.
What if it happened again? Why did it happen in the first place? Was it really that great of an idea to be running around like that after that?
Slowing down, he ended-up letting them catch him, preferring to cut short to the chase just in case.
Giving them his most serious look, her asked S/o about what had happened earlier and they mumbled something about it being usual and not something he should be bothered by.
For once the liar wasn’t shitting around anymore when he demanded they see a doctor about it.
Because no matter how much he lies and how trickstery and harsh he can be with them, he still cares very much about it and saying the idea of S/o blacking out and getting injured or worse doesn’t mean much for him would be a complete and utter lie.
Kaito
From the moment they hit the ground, he’s in panic mode.
Probably pulling his hair out and screaming in panic as he run around in circle.
Well, okay, maybe not that much but something close to it nonetheless.
It takes him a bit of time but when he finally manages to calm down enough, he’s calling 911.
And from the moment it’s done he’s actually really reliable.
He makes sure they’re not in immediate danger, check their pulse, their breathing, everything checkable to make sure they’re okay.
Right as the ambulance arrived, S/o woke up to see the worried face of their favourite astronaut above them.
They explained him it was nothing to be worried about and that it happened all the time but Kaito wasn’t buying it.
He insisted on making the trip to the hospital anyway and have them checked up.
Once it’s done he absolutely wants to make research on what might cause them to collapse and will do anything in his power for it to never happen again.
Kiyo
He’s kind of taken off guards.
When it happens it’s a bit of a surprise, to say the least, but he has enough reflexes to catch them right before they hit the ground.
From there he makes sure to settle them gently somewhere safe and contacts 911.
He’s going to check their vitals to make sure their fine, but once everything is done, the Ultimate Anthropologist doesn’t have much to do while waiting but to detail them, taking in all the details of their breathtaking beauty.
They came around before the arrival of the ambulance, only to find him sitting by their sides, observing them.
There was, hidden somewhere within the fascination visible in his eyes, a certain worry in the way he looked at them.
A worry for which they felt the need to tell him it was normal, its was something usual and nothing to worry about.
But as S/o explained it to him, the ambulance quickly arrived and no matter their protests, he insisted for them to go to the hospital.
Something in what happened had shaken him.
The fear of losing his most beloved once again seemed to have come back to haunt him.
After all, he did care very dearly for them, even more, might I say, than he ever did for his sister.
The whole incident made him somewhat more careful of his lover as Korekiyo started to keep a more attentive eye on them, checking for signs they might collapse again, truly worried about what it could mean for their health.
Ryoma
He’s surprisingly calm during the whole thing.
I mean, Ryoma is always super calm, but compared to most of his classmates he’s just so calm it’s surprising.
He lies them down in a place he knows is safe for them.
First of all the tennis player is going to check their vitals to make sure they’re stable.
Second it’s going to be their temperature, placing a damp cloth on S/o’s forehead if it’s hot or covering them with a blanket if they seem to be cold.
Once he is sure he has done everything he could do for them, he will stay by their side until they wake up, watching them carefully in case their state suddenly worsen or something along those lines.
When S/o finally does, he asks them a few questions about how they feel, if they’re hurt anywhere, about how they felt before they collapsed, if it was the first time it happened…
When they explained him it was pretty normal for them and nothing to worry about, he frowned but said nothing.
Sure he’d probably prefer them to ask their doctor about that, but Ryoma is not going to force them.
If they want to hurt themselves by doing this, it’s none of his business and he won’t interfere unless it truly puts their life at risk.
Rantaro
He’s worried.
One second S/o was walking beside him, holding his hand, and the next one he had barely managed to catch them as they fell to the ground.
He’s going to stay relaxed and in control of his emotions the whole time, he knows very well that panicking won’t help them in anyway.
Making sure they’re somewhere safe, he settled them on the floor as comfortably as could be, resting their head on his laps as he called 911.
There’s no way he’s not getting them checked by a doctor after that.
When they woke up, the ambulance hadn’t arrived yet.
Rantaro insisted they didn’t move around to much, worried they might collapse again if they did.
If his lover insisted it was nothing to worry about in any way, he was adamant on waiting for the medics.
After the incident he’s always going to keep an eye out to watch them and make sure they’re okay since it’s going to worry him anyway.
Gonta
He too is one to panic.
Oh but by panic, I mean, really panic.
A bit like Keebo, he doesn’t understand what’s happening and why did S/o suddenly collapse like that.
He tried to lightly shake them by the shoulder but seeing as they didn’t wake up it only made him more worried.
Gonta doesn’t understand why is S/o not moving anymore?!
He started to worry that they’ll never wake up again.
What if they were dying?! Or worst, what if they were already dead by now and he didn’t save them?!
By the moment S/o finally came around, he was crying, holding them in his arms.
Taking the time to reassure and comfort him from the scare he just had, they explained it was nothing to worry about as it happened all the time to them.
He’s not quite sure whether to believe them or not on the “not something to worry about” part.
Gonta might not be smart, but he’s pretty sure people aren’t supposed to do this.
Even if the giant doesn’t really know what to do, he’s going to keep an eye out in case it happens again.

A scenario in which Ouma almost dies during the killing game; but his S/O finds and comforts him.
Tumblr media
I took some.. Liberties, in a way, with this one. Hopefully it won't bother anyone.. Though, if it does, please tell me! I'm always trying to improve.
-Mod Kiyo
The killing game was scary; what was even scarier was that you didn't know who to trust.
If you could trust someone, that is.
For all you know, they're a good actor. Will get you to trust them and stab you in the back.
Literally, perhaps, under these circumstances.
But.. You found yourself drawn to someone.
Kokichi Ouma.
SHSL Supreme Leader. Expert liar. Someone everyone else seemed to dislike - and yet, you didnt.
Why? You didn't know. Maybe it was his interesting personality. Maybe the mystery surrounding him - because, as he said himself many times, he was a liar.
You therefore couldn't yet know who Kokichi Ouma truly was.
Maybe he was just as he showed himself; sneaky, manipulative, yet oddly clever. Or, this was a facade. He was a liar, after all. Who knows.
You wanted to know.
Despite you two being close, he never revealed anything about himself. Or if he did, it was followed by his usual catchphrase - "But who knows? I am a liar, after all."
But.. You two, somehow, ended up becoming.. Somthing more than just friends.
Though it wasn't official.
And because of this, the rest kind of, ever so slightly, avoided you. But you didn't quite care.
Fast forward - one week later.
You were looking for him. Ouma.
He wasn't in his room, nor was he outside.. Or the cafeteria.. Anywhere.
You could've tried his lab, but it was locked. Only he could enter.
So.. You headed to the library. But he wasn't there either.
Storage room? Bingo.
You saw him, and at first you thought he was just leaning against a wall.
"Ouma-kun! Hey!"
But he wasn't responding. Which immediately made you run over to him.
Being in a killing game made you fear quite a lot of things. And your unresponsive (unofficial) boyfriend was one those
There was blood dripping down from his forehead, making its way to his white uniform, staining it.
The source of the blood was a relatively deep gash on his forehead; but that wasn't the only wound. His chest was full of stab wounds. Holy shit.
This was bad. Very, very bad.
Thank God, he was breathing.
"Ouma-kun! Can you hear me? If - If you can, just- ah- uh, make some kind of noise.."
You weren't good at this. But he groaned, slowly lifting his head to look at you.
Okay. Okay, this was good.
You helped him get up to his feet, laced an arm around his waist, and pretty much carried him outside. Trying to find someone to help before this boy bled out.
He was.. Crying?
Real tears. Not crocodile tears.
"I- (Y/N)-san/kun, I'm not-.. Not ready to die.. I've got a killing game to watch.."
Even in this situation, he was trying to keep up a part of his facade.
You were panicking, too, but he was a priority now.
"You're -" fuck, he was surprisingly heavy for someome this.. Small. "You're not gonna die, idiot.. Stop saying that."
You kept whispering comforting things to him;
"It's okay." , "We're gonna get help.", "You're okay. You're doing so good."
And then you saw Shuuichi.
Called his name - and he had ran over to you within seconds.
Whether he liked Ouma or not, this was serious.
You went to your room; with Shuuichi's help, made Ouma lay on the bed.
"Shuuichi-kun! There are medical supplies in the storage room, I— Bring whatever you can– get help if you have to!"
While Shuuichi was away, you were holding Ouma's hand, running your fingers through his hair slowly.
As long as he was breathing, you were happy.
He was gonna be okay.
"Shuuich-kun is going to help," you told him, "And you'll be back to your usual self before you know it."
You kept comforting him, that sweet smile of his (the one he showed nobody but you) made your heart melt.
Shuuichi returned with the supplies soon.
It took you an hour, lots of bandages, patience and reassuring sweet talk to get it all done.
Ouma had needed stitches - lots of them.
"My mom's a doctor, Ouma-kun. My title isn't the SHSL Medical Assistant for no reason, either."
Shuuichi decided it'd be better to leave you two alone for now.
"Who did this to you?"
You weren't really expecting an answer - he was tired, of course, and most definitely shocked.
"I... I don't know - hood - hidden.. H-Hidden face - nn.."
You just sighed, "It's okay. You need rest.. Ouma-kun, you're staying with me while you recover."
And, well, he wouldn't complain about that. Why would he?
He nodded and closed his eyes. Asleep within seconds.
"You did well.."
You knew he was asleep and wouldn't hear you, but you spoke anyway. "See? Everything went well.. You might be a liar, Kokichi Ouma, but I'm not."
When you said everything would be okay, you were telling the truth.
You pressed a gentle kiss on his forehead, only tugging your blanket up to his waist; the bandages couldn't be covered by fabric or anything else just yet.
You kept playing with his hair gently, until you fell asleep as well.
