for real! (from kadji amin)
[Image description: Screenshot of text:
What I've realized is that I believe that the matter of gender is practical and relational. It's not about who you are inside, it's more about how you would feel most comfortable in the world. It's not 'Who are you?' but 'How do you want to live?'
Had that been the discourse when I was coming up, I would have breathed a sigh of relief. I don't have to figure out who I am on the inside, I just have to figure out how I want to live.

Headcanon that nobody can understand what Fatal is saying because of his stuttering and glitched text
Core Frisk belongs to DokuDoki
Fatal and Patch belong to Xedramon
Transcript:
Core: … And that’s basically what the Omega Timeline is! Any question?
Core: Yes, Geno?
Fatal: (jumbled text) Yes uh I understand killing is forbidden but
Fatal: (jumbled text) copies of codes technically not alive, so not killing, right? Can I still do it?
Core: …
Core: I’m not going to lie, Geno. I literally have no idea what you just said

It's impossible to know how much of Whole Cake Island Oda had in mind at this time in the story. Some form of extended backstory for Sanji has been foreshadowed since at least Jaya, but that doesn't mean that Oda knew he would one day be showing off Stealth Black in the manga. It could be he later gave Sanji invisibility powers because of this exchange in Thriller Bark, or it could be that he already knew what he was going to be doing with Sanji in the future and this is foreshadowing for WCI.
If it is the latter, I feel like Oda did mishandle things by focusing on Sanji wanting to peep on women with impunity. A popular fan theory is that Sanji wanted the invisibility fruit because of his father's abuse, and that's what I head canon as well though it's never explicitly stated. Oda didn't need to imply that in Thriller Bark, and he could have even had Absalom think that Sanji was just as much of a sex pest as he is, but this whole section sours Sanji's future development in a really unfortunate way.
I also think that Sanji reading the DF encyclopedia could have been used to foreshadow Gear 5 a little. Just one line saying that Sanji didn't remember ever reading about it before would have gone a long way to make the sudden reveal that the gum gum fruit is a zoan feel less out of left field.

I love the idea of Irwin "animatedly" doing anything. Somehow I never picture the abrasive, ascetic, brawler colonists as very "animated" characters, but maybe he's just trying to make the lesson engaging for the little guy. I bet Irwin is a great teacher.
Also, yeah, we got a dinosaur. His randomly generated name is Swampy. I have not had the courage to attempt drawing him yet. Dinosaurs are awesome but also very tricky to draw.
Irwin and Andy continued to hang out for a little while, playing with axes as every reasonable adult looking after a three-year-old would do.
But, alas, while teaching the child about mathematics and biology and tree-felling, it appears Irwin's abrasive trait has also been noticed. Kids do learn from example, but I guess nobody told Irwin that.
