i'm really struggling with muse for peter rn, and for my fandom muses in general. i'm thinking of launching a new oc and trying to prioritize my ocs but I'm just nervous bc I've historically had a LOT of success with my fandom muses and I'm afraid I won't be as successful with an oc.

guys  ,  when  you’re  writing  starters  for  people  ,  please  please  PLEASE  give  your  partners  something  to  react  to  or  something  to  go  off  of  !  generic  starters  that  just  say  things  like  “what  did  you  say”  or  “what  are  you  doing”  with  no  set  up  of  what  is  happening  in  the  scene  don’t  actually  get  anything  started  and  instead  just  put  all  the  pressure  on  the  other  person  to  set  the  scene  .  if  you  don’t  have  an  idea  for  a  starter  ,  message  the  other  person  !  check  their  wishlist  tag  !  or  hell  ,  google  random  writing  prompts  !  but  please  don’t  just  write  a  whole  starter  of  nothing  happening  &  nothing  being  set  up  that  just  throws  everything  onto  your  partner  ,  because  1)  the  point  of  a  starter  call is  that  you  agreed  to  do  the  legwork  of  getting  the  thread  going  ,  and  2)  an  interesting  starter  is  much  more  likely  to  get  a  response  than  a  generic  one  !

this  might  be  an  unpopular  opinion  ,  but  it  is  better  to  write  only  a  few  starters  but  focus  on  them  all  being  unique  and  dynamic  than  throwing  out  a  ton  of  starters  that  either  seem  like  they  weren’t  personalized  for  the  muse  or  that  only  show  the  most  shallow  knowledge  of  the  muse  !
