there's this one thing about tsukishima that very little people know about

tsukishima kei is insecure.

he's not a fool, he always picks up on the way people react when they find out you are dating him. according to the masses he's mean and salty and... dense? and even if someone objects about your relationship to try and get your validation, he never misses a chance to bite back at them but yet again.... the words seep right under his skin like poison. is he good enough? does he treat you as well as other people would? would you leave him because of that?

it didn't come as a surprise the minute you found him alone after his match. your kei valids his time alone and it was completely understandable, especially after his team would lose but yet again, karasuno won this match with a huge gap so what was he acting so weird for?

"what's on your mind, kei?" you spoke softly, taking a seat and leaning your head against your boyfriend's shoulder who just hummed in response.

you immediately knew because just like him, you're not a fool and the opposite team's comments didn't go unnoticed.

"you know every time i see you on court, i get so immensely excited, it's like- i can't really explain it but i wanna scream to the world that 'that's my boyfriend'" you chuckled as he intertwined your fingers on his lap slowly "i know you'd hate that, you just make me so happy, i just wanna rub to everyone's faces how cool you are,and the one who gets to be with you is me"

and kei could never hate that. he could never hate anything you do.

because kei loved you more than anything and he knew that you loved him too so, people's opinions really didn't matter that much to him anymore.
