Skiing - a beginner’s guide
I first went skiing in Switzerland with my friends nearly 10 years ago and I loved it. The feeling of the wind on my face, the speed, the adrenaline- it was exhilarating.
I’ve compiled a basic list of ski events, a semi-scandalous article and some of the best destinations in the world as well as some budget friendly ones.
Socialite ski events:
Snowboxx:
Since it launched in 2013, winter festival Snowboxx has been growing in popularity - and it involves flying out to the Alps for a week-long ski party.  It takes place in Avoriaz ski resort, Morzine, France each March, and this year saw a superstar lineup of artists performing in the mountains, including ex-Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac, Becky Hill, Jax Jones, Sonny Fodera and Andy C.
The combination of partying to some of the world's best DJs, with the unusual day-activites of skiing and snowboarding, are making many turn away from the summer festival circuit in favour of the winter one.
Hahnenkamm, Kitzbühel , Austria:
The Hahenekamm ski race weekend in Kitzbühel is arguably the biggest alpine ski event in the world. The world’s best take on the iconic Streif downhill track, which is historically the toughest ski race track on the World Cup circuit. A lot of the speed skiers consider winning races here as a bigger honour than the Olympics. As a spectator, the atmosphere is electric with fans around the world admiring some breathtaking ski racing.
X Games, Aspen, USA:
The world’s best freestyle skiers and snowboarders compete annually in Aspen. The event is a prestigious honour to win amongst action sports athletes and has propelled careers. Spectating the event is excellent because you can see most of the action from the viewing areas. The halfpipe events in particular are excellent to watch for this reason.
European Snow Pride, Tignes, France:
Tignes is home to Europe’s biggest gay ski week, with the European Snow Pride. Each day has a theme with nights of brit-pop to superhero days. Many international DJs are invited to play each evening party in the resort’s local clubs and bars.
Slightly scandalous tales: Things I Never Knew About Skiing Until I Was a Private Instructor in Aspen
Really interesting read. I was thoroughly entertained.
Popular ski destinations:
1. Whistler Blackcomb, Canada
Whistler makes it onto pretty much every ‘World Top 10’ list when it comes to ski resorts
2. Niseko, Japan
Located on the northern island of Hokkaido, this Japanese skiing destination is a snow-covered paradise. With a huge 15 metres of average snowfall, it’s no wonder that Niseko is the country’s premier ski resort.
3. Zermatt, Switzerland
As the highest resort in the Alps, it’s got the views. The incredible peak of the Matterhorn can be seen from just about anywhere on the slopes! It also boasts the greatest vertical drop in Switzerland, and there’s all year round skiing at the Matterhorn Glacier.
4. Courchevel, France
The resort is a part of the world’s largest alpine ski area, offering more than 600 kilometres of terrain and interconnected ski runs across 10 summits. The snow here is well-groomed, and there’s a legendary black run that’s considered to be one of the trickiest in the world.
5. Cortina D’Ampezzo, Italy
Known only to the most dedicated, well-travelled skiers prior to the 1956 Winter Olympics, Cortina is a hidden gem in Italy’s Dolomite Mountains.
6. Baqueira-Beret, Spain
It may be a surprising destination for skiing, but Baqueira-Beret in Spain is one of the best places in Europe where you’ll find value for money for a ski holiday. You’ll be able to find affordable accommodation as well as some of the finest tapas restaurants in the country.
7. Ylläs, Finland
The arctic landscapes of Lapland are perfect for skiing. If you dream of snow-dusted trees, the magic of the Northern Lights, or the glow of the midnight sun, Ylläs is a unique winter resort that you won’t want to miss. As Finland’s largest ski resort, it’s got everything you need.
Budget friendly destinations
1. Vogel, Slovenia
An ideal spot for couples or families, this Slovenian spot is a truly beautiful and peaceful ski area. Overlooking Lake Bohinj, Vogel is part of the Triglav national park.
2. Livigno, Italy
Duty-free zone Livigno offers excellent slopes for intermediate skiers. But advanced skiers and snowboarders will be kept busy too – especially if they’re keen to explore off piste.
3. Poiana-Brasov, Romania
Poiana Brasov is Romania’s biggest mountain resort and certainly one of the nicest. The fairytale slopes, flanked by pine trees, are the perfect place to take your skis. With more than 24km of ski runs, there’s plenty to explore.
4. South Korea -Muju Deogyusan Resort
Muju Deogyusan Resort in Jeolla province is only 3 hours away from Seoul. So, if you want to spend your holiday skiing and still enjoy the city of Seoul, this is the place to go.
5. Niseko Ski Resort
Located in Hokkaido, Japan, Niseko Ski Resort boasts a total of four different resorts but with linked ski area. A single pass would give you access to all four resorts. One of the resorts, Mt. Resort Grand Hirafu has been officially named as Japan’s number one snow resort due to the wide array of activities offered.
6. India - Gulmarg
Gulmarg is a rare gem in the Himalayans that will undoubtedly take your breath away with its picturesque beauty. However, skiing in Gulmarg, Kashmir is not for the weak-hearted as the terrains are not suitable for beginners - to add to that, the ski lifts carry you to the highest point in the Himalaya at 13, 780 feet!
7. China - Nanshan Ski Resort
80km away from Beijing, Nanshan Ski Resort is perfect for skiing and snowboarding as the snow are neither too hard nor too soft.

------One Year Later, Fall-----
"What do you think is wrong now?" You asked.
"How should I know? Don't babies have a different cry for everything?"
"I think so."
"Well, which cry is this? I don't think I've heard this one before." A yawn ripped through Mingyu's throat and chest as he rubbed his eyes. It was another late night, the sounds of a baby screaming echoed through the apartment walls. It was as if someone had shot a bullet in a small room, allowing it to ricochet off each wall and fly to the next constantly. It never ended, and you and Mingyu were constantly trying to avoid being hit. You sighed, sinking onto the couch as you rubbed the little ones' back. Mingyu watched as you paced the room, hoping the little bouncing movements matched with your gentle coos would soothe the baby. No luck.
"I think he's been crying for two days straight." You sighed.
"Tell me about it. I hope he's not getting sick." Mingyu walked over to the fridge, pulled it open, and scanned the contents. "Shit." He groaned.
"What?"
"Out of milk." He stood upright. "I thought I got some more."
"I went through so much while you were at work." You watched as Mingyu walked over pulling both you and the crying baby close. He kissed the baby, and then the top of your head. It didn't soothe the baby, but it did soothe you.
"I'll run to the store." He said. "That 24 hour one should have some milk."
"Okay." You said. Mingyu smiled, tired yet generous.
"Want something for yourself?"
"Surprise me." You murmured. Mingyu nodded. You finally sank onto the couch, listening as Mingyu dragged his feet to the door. You continued to rub your baby's back. You didn't even bother looking behind you as Mingyu closed the door behind him, heading out to the store. The baby's cries continued to ring through your ears. Hoping for luck the second time around, you rose from the couch and started walking. You passed the TV stand, then the bookshelf. You stopped for a minute, bouncing the baby in your arms as you stared down at the snow globe. A flurry of pictures surrounded it on all of the shelves: particularly the ones from Mina in Jeju. The one of you, Joshua, and Jeonghan flashing a peace sign and a grin on the beach was currently in your sights. You smiled at the memory; amazed almost two years had passed since all of that happened. Beside it sat a new set of pictures of you and Mingyu at the Japanese cherry blossom festival. One had Mina with you, the three of you meeting up the first time you both visited Japan after everything happened. It was a beautiful day, the three of you enjoying it as any group of friends would. It was as if the previous year's events had not happened during that trip. You smiled at the memory, both of you a whole year younger and still aware of what a full night's sleep felt like.
When a cough came from the baby in your arms, you kissed the top of his head. "It's okay..." you said softly, continuing your lap around the living room. The baby still was not stopping, the longer he cried the louder it sounded like it was getting. "Hurry up, Mingyu." You begged to yourself as if it would work. He had just left, after all, and the store was a good 10-minute walk away. As your feet stopped pacing, you looked around the dim and empty apartment. A deep feeling bubbled in your stomach, and you felt your eyes water. When you looked down at the little bundle in your arms, even as he cried, you took one large deep breath. The last one you needed, calming yourself before you lost it. Even a few months in, it was such an overwhelming feeling to have a baby. "We're alright." You said out loud, mainly for yourself. That affirmation seemed to start calming the baby down, though barely. "See? We're alright." Smiling, you kissed his forehead and sat back down on the couch. Holding the baby in your arms, you looked down at your hands. Your pointer fingers and thumbs were poking into view from under your son.
"It wouldn't." you chuckled to yourself at the idea that briefly flashed through your mind. "There's no way." As the cry of your son continued to reverberate once again, you figured it was worth a shot. Shifting the baby, you immediately snapped both of your fingers. Other than the sound being drowned out by the crying, the room remained untouched. Unaffected. "Tch. Knew it. I must be going crazy from lack of sleep."
Maybe you were because in that moment, there was a knock on your front door. You looked over, holding the baby close. Who would be knocking in the middle of the night? The sound of the knock only made him cry louder, and you immediately pressed a kiss to his temple, shushing him as much as you could. Standing up, you laid him down in his little bassinet, before making your way towards the door. You kept your movements light, not sure what the cue would be – if there was one – to open the door and trust the person on the other side. As you stepped closer, one final knock came, followed by:
"It's us!" A familiar gentle voice flooded your brain, and you immediately lunged forward, flinging the door open. At the door stood two familiar faces, both dawned in all-white attire much as their brothers had the few times they came for a visit. They looked almost exactly the same as they did the last time you saw them two years prior, and you gasped.
"Oh my -."
"Don't say that," Joshua said quickly, grinning. You looked down at your hands, then back up to him.
"Did it actually work?" she asked. Jeonghan and Joshua glanced at one another, grinning.
"Ahh, you really tried?" Jeonghan said. "You can just call that a coincidence."
"Well, come in." you reached forward, taking their hands as you led them into the apartment. Once they were inside, the door closed behind them, you reached out and pulled them into a hug one at a time. "What the heck are you doing here at this hour?"
"We were in the neighborhood." Jeonghan shrugged.
"At five a.m.?" you smirked. The duo seemed defeated before they could even continue with their little ruse.
"We heard the news." Joshua finally explained simply.
"Yeah." Jeonghan rubbed his ears. "We really heard the news."
"And once we did, we made sure to get everything in order to come visit." When you cocked an eyebrow, Jeonghan decided to add a bit more detail.
"Even after all this time we have to get special permission for a lot of things. Like a probation." He shrugged. "No big deal. Totally worth it."
You laughed a bit hurrying back over to the bassinet. Lifting the little bundle back into your arms, you watched the duo approach.
"You think your ears hurt? This has basically been my music playlist since we brought him home. He's a fussy one." Immediately, you felt a hand press to your back. When you looked over, you saw Joshua standing by your side. When you saw another figure move beside you, you caught sight of Jeonghan standing in front of you and the baby.
"May I?" he asked. You nodded, immediately feeling the warmth spread from Joshua's palm through your spine and through your nerves. A deep, relaxed breath escaped you as Jeonghan pressed his finger to the newborn's forehead. You watched as the baby's cries slowly died down before he simply began whimpering and closing his eyes.
"You can do it too?" you asked. Jeonghan nodded.
"I really made God mad when we got kicked down here." He pointed out. You looked down at your son, kissing his forehead.
"Please form another contract to be my forever nannies." You begged in a soft, yet very desperate whisper. The duo could only smile, which didn't provide you with an answer. Well, it did, but not the answer you wanted.
"What's his name?" Jeonghan changed the subject, brushing some of his little hairs from his face. You sighed.
"So no on the nanny thing?" you asked. Jeonghan shook his head.
"Even if I could, I wouldn't," he said honestly. Sighing, you watched as Joshua leaned down as well, gently taking hold of the baby's foot that stuck out of the blanket, careful to recover it with the gentleness an angel could provide.
"Ah. Well..." you looked at the duo. "Jisoo."
Immediately, Joshua and Jeonghan's eyes shot up to you. Joshua in particular looked shocked at your comment. He looked back down at the baby, then up to you.
"You're kidding." He gasped. He seemed to think you'd admit to the joke, and reveal the real name. However, you shook your head. Joshua took the next few seconds to take a deep breath. "Please put the child down."
You smiled as Jeonghan offered to hold him for a second, careful not to wake him. Once he was out of your arms, Joshua gripped your hands tightly. He pulled you close. "You're kidding." He repeated again.
"Want to see the birth certificate?" you asked, smiling. Joshua was quick to look at the infant once more as Jeonghan gently continued to hold him.
"When do I get a baby named after me?" Jeonghan pouted.
"Please don't encourage Mingyu to have more kids." You sighed. "Not yet. I can't handle it."
"That doesn't answer my question." He pointed out. "I will be asking."
"He's already mentioned it like twice."
"I'll make him ask a third." You groaned, resting your forehead on Joshua's chest. He laughed a bit, patting your shoulders.
Just then, the door opened, and the three of you looked over. Mingyu stepped in, slipping his shoes off. He was holding two bags in both of his hands, letting out another yawn of exhaustion. "I'm ba-." His greeting was interrupted when he saw Joshua and Jeonghan standing beside you, Jeonghan cradling his son. "What the hell are they doing here at five in the morning?"
"I asked the same thing." You said, turning to Mingyu. He set the bags on the table, rubbing his eyes.
"Is he finally asleep?" he asked. You nodded, motioning to Jeonghan.
"I'm a natural." He said simply. Mingyu chuckled. When made it over, offering you another kiss on your head, he shook Joshua's hand and waved to Jeonghan, who nodded his head in response.
"If you're a natural, then-."
"I already asked." You stated quickly. "No dice."
"Damn." Mingyu chuckled. Jeonghan passed you the baby, making sure he was still sound asleep. "Hopefully, we can get some sleep before he wakes up again."
"I forgot what that feels like." You sighed. You watched as Joshua stared down at the baby, eyes sparkling as he watched the little bundle shift and gurgle in his sleep. You couldn't help but smile.
"Please, don't be strangers." You said. "Come over. All the time, even." You said.
"To nanny?" Jeonghan asked.
"Yes." The new parents pleaded in unison. Jisoo gurgled, threatening a whine as he began to stir, and Joshua reached out, putting a hand on his forehead as Mingyu went to the door.
"We should let you guys sleep then," Jeonghan said when he took a second to look at both of your faces.
"Will you guys be around long?" Mingyu asked. "The others said they're stopping by this afternoon. I'm sure they'd love to see you."
"Jihoon will be there, too." You said. The duo shared a look, contemplating the idea for a minute.
"Sure," Joshua said quickly. "I'm sure that'll be alright." As little Jisoo once again threatened to stir, you sighed.
"Let's get him in bed so we can sleep." You said.
Jeonghan, now knowing they had nowhere to be until later in the evening, took a seat on the couch. "Go to sleep." He said. "I mean you invited us to stay for a while. Go to sleep. We'll watch the little guy." You smirked a bit at the comment.
"But-."
"I don't think Joshua is going to stop staring at him anytime soon." Jeonghan pointed to his friend.
"I absolutely will not." He said simply.
"Go on. Rest up. We can handle a little human baby."
"I'm glad someone can." You said, passing him to Joshua. The transfer caused him to whimper once again, but once Joshua got him in his arms, Jisoo immediately silenced and lulled back into sleep. Joshua looked at Jeonghan, his friend laughing a bit at the way his friend's eyes sparkled. The duo watched as you both shuffled into your bedroom, closing the door. Joshua settled onto the couch, holding the baby in his arms. He looked at Jeonghan.
"This is so much better than getting back into heaven."
"The real reward, hm?" Jeonghan asked in amusement. Joshua nodded. "I'll agree with you there."
🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶So Close Yet So Far🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
Later in the day, as promised, everyone had gathered to see the little infant in your apartment. Mingyu sat on the floor with Hoshi and Jihoon, watching as the baby rested on his stomach. Hoshi was holding a little tiger toy in his direction, moving it ever so slightly as he encouraged Jisoo to follow it with his eyes.
"Is he even old enough to be able to do that?" Minnie asked.
"He's already a month," Mingyu said. "He should be fine. They say tummy time is good right away." Finally, he scooped the little guy up into his arms, rubbing his back as he nestled into his father's embrace. Hoshi leaned forward, once again trying to get him to look at the tiger toy. When Jihoon leaned forward to help encourage Jisoo, you smiled. "Who is that?" Mingyu asked, pointing to the two individuals huddled close together in hopes of getting Jisoo to look in their direction with eager waves.
You sipped water on the couch, finding a comfortable nostalgia nestled between the two angels, both of them also with a drink in their hand as they watched everyone's attention sit on the baby. When he hiccupped, Mingyu was quick to catch the spit up before it got on his shirt.
"Nice catch." You said, and Mingyu laughed. As everyone continued to chat and interact with the baby, you looked between the two angels sitting on either side of you.
"Are you guys enjoying being back home?" You asked curiously.
"It's nice," Jeonghan said.
"Do you miss it?" You asked curiously. "Being on earth?"
"Mmmm sometimes," Jeonghan said.
"Not enough to stay forever though." Joshua made sure to add, Jeonghan nodding in agreement. He motioned to the duo sitting beside Mingyu on the floor. "He makes it look easy." You looked at Jihoon, who now, instead of waving to the baby, was watching as Hoshi did instead. His hand had gently reached towards Jisoo's as he tried to make a baby tiger paw sign.
"You'll get it one day, little cub." Hoshi nodded.
"Don't call him that," Seungkwan said. Hoshi pouted, looking at Jihoon for the validation Seungkwan had no intention of giving.
"It's cute." He assured Hoshi with a pat on the shoulder.
As the entire room settled into a comfortable togetherness, you allowed yourself time to sit back and just observe. You couldn't remember the last time you had such a nice time watching your friends interact, especially since Jisoo was born. You felt Joshua and Jeonghan loop their arms through yours, looking between them once again. You felt a sense of comfort in the familiar touch, smiling as you nestled close into them. As Mingyu stood up intending to put your son to sleep, he looked over. Immediately an unamused frown formed on his face.
"Even when we're married you're still going to pull this nonsense?" he asked.
Jeonghan nodded. "Absolutely."
"Why do you think we can here in the first place, Kim Mingyu?" Joshua asked a look of disgust on his face that Mingyu would even ask. As you wormed out of their grip, you motioned Mingyu into the nursery.
"Let's go." Closing the door behind you, Mingyu finally set Jisoo into his bassinet, the baby fussing for a minute. He put his hand on the baby's belly, watching as the baby slowly began to soothe himself knowing someone was still nearby. You rested against the side, watching as your son's eyes began to close.
"This might be the best gift you've ever given me." You said, looking up at Mingyu. He immediately returned your glance, smiling though a bit embarrassed.
"Couldn't agree more." He simply said.

World of Frozen: Disney Parks | Analysis
Part 1
We have gotten our first official look at the Frozen resort in the Disney Park in Japan in a short promotional video on Instagram. It's so beautiful and gives me a mix of Frozen and Frozen Fever vibes - The two of my favourite Frozen movies!
Let's break it down and see what we have because sometimes big attractions like Disney Parks tease upcoming things for future stories like how we have the upcoming podcasts soon and then Frozen 3 later on.
We open the video to a painting of Elsa and Anna similar to that shown in Frozen 2, in "Into the Unknown". Same attire but different setting and pose.
Tumblr media
Then we get closeups of Arendelle and a glimpse of the Ice castle in the distance too. All around Arendelle, are buttings of the official Arendelle flag as they are most year round. The foundation is frozen in big snowflakes just like in Olaf's Frozen Adventure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the cutest part of how they've designed Arendelle is that they added the Elsa and Anna figures on the clocktower from Frozen Fever!! They're exactly the same except they added details to the bottom of Elsa's dress. Presumably, that means that since Anna's birthday in Frozen Fever, those giant dolls in the Clocktower of Arendelle have stayed there for two years!
Tumblr media
Next, we get a look at the roll of a proclamation for an official 'Summer Snow day", which is the event that is taking place in this Park. We see a citizen of Arendelle putting the roll up but we only see the back of her head. She can be seen wearing a ribbon with 3 sunflowers on the bow, very similar to the one Anna wears in Frozen Fever. Sunflowers are Arendelle's symbol in the summer because it's Anna's birth month and season and favourite flower too as we learn in Frozen Fever.
Tumblr media
We get a close-up of the latest newspaper from the Arendelle Daily Press. On it, it headlines 'Arendelle Set To Celebrate Summer Snow Day'. For those who can't read the articles featured in this newspaper, I'll write it all out below from top to bottom, and left to right.
Tumblr media
"Citizens have finished preparations for Summer Snow Day festivities across the kingdom, and they are expecting this to be the largest celebration yet
Everyone from Arendelle's Royal family to entrepreneur of the year. Wandering Oaken, will be hosting an array of events taking place in the village and forest.
Villagers appear to be the most excited about a royal tour of Elsa's Ice Palace.
In an official statement released early today, Elsa stated that she and Anna wanted to do something truly special for the people of Arendelle.
Through the power of Elsa's ice magic, visitors will be transported to the top of the North mountain and treated to a performance filled with music and fun. This annual celebration marks the day that Anna sacrificed her life to protect Elsa. Anna not only saved her sister with an extraordinary act of true love, but also saved the kingdom from the most severe ice storm on record."
"Local Entrepreneur Builds Sleigh Slide
Wandering Oaken, owner of Wandering Oaken's Trading Post and Sauna, is inviting everyone to ride his Sliding Sleighs as part of the annual Summer Snow Day celebration. From the comfort of his sauna, Oaken said, “I was having a steam when an idea popped into my mind, what if we all could ride sleighs in the summer? Wouldn't that be a hoot!”.
After sharing that his attraction is reindeer powered and snowman operated, Oaken spoke a great length about the “big summer Snow Day blowout” at his Trading Post and Sauna. Members of Oaken's family finally stepped in after an extensive pitch for a sun balm of his own invention, and they insisted that he, “Let it go”."
"Northern Delights
Sweets to brighten your days and nights
Across from friendship fountain"
"Tick Tok Toys & Collectibles
Beloved gifts from anytime
Conveniently located in the Clock Tower Square"
"Wandering Oaken's Sliding Sleighs
A real hoot and a half!
This Summer Snow Day
Across from the Fjord in Arendelle Forest
And while you're there, be sure to step inside Wandering Oaken's Trading Post and Sauna for the big Summer Snow Day Blowout!"
"Golden Crocus Inn
The Finest Dining in the Kingdom
"We will treat your like royalty” "
"Weather Forecast
Warm and sunny with a chance of scattered summer snow"
"Elsa Seeks to Improve Relations with the Southern Isles
Elsa has invited the Royal Family of the Southern Isles to enjoy Summer Snow Day celebrations in Arendelle. The King, Queen and twelve of their sons were seen entering Arendelle Castle after their ship arrived late yesterday. “It's a lovely display of peace between the two kingdoms.” said local candy shop owner. “I think the gesture is sweet”.
The relationship between both kingdoms has been viewed as chilly following a dramatic attempt by Prince Hans of the Southern Isles to overthrow the Royal Family of Arendelle. It is no surprise that the imprisoned Prince is the only member of the neighbouring Royal family who will not be visiting. Prince Hans is currently recovering injuries from a giant snowball, the details of which remain unclear.
Official Ice Master And Deliver of Arendelle
Summer Ice
New Available "
To summarize this newsletter, Elsa and Anna have created a new annual celebration called, the Summer Snow Day, to mark the day that Anna sacrificed her life to protect Elsa and saved the kingdom from enteral Winter in the first movie or in other words the anniversary of the great thaw. This storyline is set before Frozen 2 and after Frozen Fever. Bearing in mind that Frozen Fever is (just a month under) a year after Frozen and was set around the events of Anna's birthday, June 22, summer solstice, Summer Snow Day is exactly a year after Frozen and a month or so after Frozen Fever. Elsa and Anna also created this celebration as an urge to do something truly special for the people of Arendelle. But the interesting thing is that it also states that the sisters, particularly Elsa given she's the Queen, want to improve their relationship with the Southern Isles by inviting them to their first Summer Snow Day celebration. But although the royal family of the Southern Isles attended, Hans didn't because he's recovering from injuries from a giant snowball (of which details are unclear). When they mentioned a giant snowball we immediately remember when Elsa blew the birthday bugle horn and shot a massive Snow ball to the Southern Isles, specifically right on Hans. The giant snowball went unnoticed by everyone in Arendelle when Elsa accidentally threw it but I'm pretty sure Hans knows exactly where it came from - because there's only one person he knows with ice powers! 😆 But I think the King and Queen of the Southern Isles told Elsa and Anna about Hans injuries to answer for his absence so by doing so, that's how the sisters learn about the giant snowball being from when she blew the horn in Anna's birthday (because I'm sure they wouldn't believe a giant snowball hit Hans out of nowhere with no snow around the Southern Isles either). When the Paper says he is the imprisoned Prince, I believe that his parents must've imprisoned him in his castle with chores to be done etc as punishment and whenever his family have to go anywhere else be it in the kingdom or to another, he isn't allowed to.
Moving on, we have another look at Arendelle and we see Elsa and Anna in their epilogue attire of course, (cosplay versions of course for the Parks) greeting at a local citizen.
Tumblr media
We have a closer look at the sisters and a fist look at Arendelle castle. What we see here is the back of the castle but also west of the castle.
Tumblr media
Then we get another look at the iconic Clock Tower behind a lamp post.
Tumblr media
And finally we see the sisters walking by the Clock Tower and by its side we can see another glimpse of Elsa's Ice Castle.
Tumblr media
So that's the whole promotional video for the 'World of Frozen' in the new Disney Park in Japan. Though the storyline is set a year after Frozen and a month after Frozen Fever (given Frozen was set in July), Elsa and Anna in the Parks are in their Frozen 2 epilogue attire for promotional purposes of Frozen 2 and all other media set after, I believe. So that means the Southern Isles and Arendelle are on good terms now. As for Hans, we don't know what he's up to. I'm certain he has recovered from his injuries and his punishment must be over a month or two from the Summer Snow Day. Since then, we have heard nothing of where he is or what he's up to. So his current status is unknown.
But a theory goes that he is Wolfgang in disguise 🥸 But I'll save that for another post. For now, here's the breakdown to the video of the 'World of Frozen' attraction in Japan's new Disney Park.
Part 2 ft more Easter eggs in another snippet of the Arendelle park here...

losing; finding | miya osamu
Tumblr media
There’s a certain bite to the winter cold that you can’t quite put your finger on. Snow is nowhere to be found, yet you feel colder than you should beneath the layers you have on.
Japan doesn’t necessarily celebrate Christmas the same way the world does, and by the time 10:00 pm strikes the clock, every street is swept clean of people, stalls, and life. Even the decorations are taken down, one by one. The avenue lost the spark of festivities it had just a few minutes ago.
Save for one little building in the middle of the block. In contrast to the cold night, this one glowed a warm yellow. From afar you can find a car, two motorcycles, and some bicycles parked beside it. There is no open window or welcoming door to give anyone the idea that the shop is closed in the meantime.
But there is the faint smell of food and warm chocolate wafting through the air. Before you can even find your feet near the threshold, you swore there’s a telltale sign that the place is the only thing alive tonight.
It’s the arrival of Miya Osamu that catches you slightly off-guard. Yet you don’t show it. He parks his small delivery bicycle near the front, and by the time he lifted the box in his arms, your eyes meet for the first time in a long time.
“Hey, it’s been long.” He speaks first, and your eyes find the warm mist in his breath like an addictive drug.
Your gloved hands reluctantly leave your pockets. You try to lace your voice with some enthusiasm, it’s been ages since you’ve seen him. “Hello! I was just about to go in.” You note that Osamu has gotten bigger… broader. And even if he had a whole career and business on his shoulders, there’s never a sign of aging nor displeasure on his face. “Do you need help with that?”
“Nah, I can handle these.” He adjusts his hold on the box of what seems to be fresh edamame. “I just need help with the front door. Can’t really go through the back since it was locked before closing.”
There’s a sudden ache gnawing in the crevices of your heart. You realize you’re probably frowning the whole time, so you give him a soft smile and hold the door open for him. “Sure.”
A chime in the bell signals both your arrival and a wave of nostalgia hits you when familiar faces started peering at the shop entrance.
“Samu, ‘ya jackass!” A similarly bigger and broader Atsumu pops from behind the cash register. “If I’d known yer gonna take yer time wooing our dear manager outside the cold instead of getting ingredients then I would have said no in watching the shop!”
“Shut yer trap, Tsumu!” Osamu hollers back.
You’re thankful that whatever blush creeps to your cheeks can always be blamed for the biting cold. There’s more relief and fondness in your heart when you realize the bickering has stayed more or less the same as it was all those years ago.
The owner of Onigiri Miya looks down, at your much smaller form, and he shares an awkward, apologetic smile with you. “Sorry about him. You know how loud he can be.”
A chuckle leaves your lips, some things truly never change. “Yeah, yeah. Haven’t been back in a while but it’s easy to cancel his voice out every time he screams.”
“Hey! I heard that!”
There’s a certain warmth that spreads throughout the restaurant. A soft chatter drowns out any silence, yet leaves a small noise that brings more comfort than annoyance.
Atsumu, Suna, and Ginjima sit at a booth by the front, while the rest of the members of Inarizaki volleyball team are dispersed at their own tables.
You find purchase the only available seat, on the counter between Kita and Aran.
And yes, right in front of Osamu, as he mans the counter and prepares onigiri for the team.
“Hi, Captain.” You give a small pat on Kita’s shoulder, and you turn to give Aran a small punch on the arm, “Hi, Aran.”
“Hey, we didn’t think you’d come.” Kita chirps beside you.
He takes a sip from his bottle of beer, and you note his tanned skin and lean arms beneath his sleeves. All those fieldwork has paid off, you definitely understand all the people the team has been talking about that travel specifically to Kyoto, in hopes of finding the elusive and dashing rice farmer.
“It’s the holidays. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” You tuck your hair behind your ear out of habit, and at the same time, Osamu slides a cup of iced water in front of you.
And he knows just the way you like it. Three cubes of ice, no more, no less.
Before your mouth could even form a word of thanks, he slides a plate of onigiri across the counter… to you.
An ache of wanting comes over your being. Your eyes trace the onigiri made for you. Salmon, egg, and edamame. Again, he remembers.
As you turn your head to quickly scan the room, you find every other person holding their own onigiri, yet not one of those ever had the bright green shade of edamame. Only yours.
Osamu catches your attention, and a brief wave of emotion crosses his eyes as you meet them. But it comes just as it goes, and he only gives you a smug smile. Because he knows he remembers everything about you correctly.
When you take a bite of the sweet, warm, onigiri, your lips utter the words you have been meaning to say to him for years. “Thank you, Samu.”
The Christmas reunion goes by without a hitch, and as each member file out one by one, you find yourself left alone with Osamu at the shop.
You were about brave the cold winds once again. But Osamu insisted he’d take you home.
He is quite sure that’s all this day would end up to be. A reunion, a warm gathering.
But you did come, and somehow all plans of keeping this day silent and under wraps are now thrown out of the window.
And in the freezing breeze of a quiet night in Kyoto, Japan, Miya Osamu walks you home.
“How’s yer new job workin’ out for ‘ya?” Osamu quips before he could stop himself. How are you doing with the life you chose over us? He truly wants to ask. But then again, he isn’t sure if there was even an “us” in the first place.
“It’s… it’s doing well. It’s paying great actually.” You walk a little closer to him, desperate to drink whatever warmth his tall frame gave off. “It’s just weird. I’ve finally settled down but I haven’t made many friends yet.” A little alright, physically, but it’s been lonely without you.
“I-uhh… wanted to ask.” Osamu walks straight, but his eyes follow both your feet, somewhat walking in unison, somewhat walking in hesitance. “If… ya wanted to try again…”
Your heart jumps at the thought, and Osamu walks a little closer to you this time. If you move your arm out of your body, you’d probably touch him.
But there are no surprises. No fear of the unknown. Only relief, because you both know that life seemed to go a little haywire ever since you both left each other.
Osamu speaks again, desperate to cling to the ring of his voice than settle in the soft mist leaving your lips. “Or… we can start over if ya don’t want to pick up where we left off.”
And you agree, only silently nodding and turning to face him. You pull him by his beltloop and give him a soft kiss right on his reddened cheek. “It’s okay, Samu. We can start over.”
There’s a shy smile that grazes Osamu’s mouth, and it grows a little bigger when he thinks of the feel of your warm lips on his cold cheek.
In the glowing moonlight of cold, cold Kyoto, the elderly will probably feel scandalized by seeing two people kiss silly beneath the naked trees. But they ought to understand that anyone in the cold deserves to feel the heat of a fire.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And how does it work?
Ya see those vials behind me? Each one holds a different (strong) alcohol. Including some exceptionally rare and popular ones...
You finish the top of your milk ice cream, place your spoon like so, and top it with a miniature ladle of liquor. It brings to mind the experience of imbibing in absinthe, poured over a sugar cube - which is also one of our selection.

It's a secret ice cream place, only for adults...

秋田県
Japanese Prefectures: Tohoku - Akita
都道府県 (とどうふけん) - Prefectures of Japan
Learning the kanji and a little bit about each of Japan’s 47 prefectures!
Kanji・漢字
秋 あき、シュウ autumn
田 た、デン rice field
県 ケン prefecture
東北 とうほく north-east, Tōhoku (northernmost six prefectures of Honshu)
Prefectural Capital (県庁所在地) : Akita (秋田市)
Tumblr media
Akita prefecture is known for the natural beauty of the sea and mountains, hot springs, and the preserved samurai district in the town of Kakunodate. The capital of Akita prefecture is Akita City, and the economy of the prefecture is structured around traditional industries such as fishing and agriculture, particularly rice cultivation, as well as high-quality sake. Akita's numerous seasonal festivals offer insight into traditional culture, especially the New Year's Eve Namahage Festival of Oga, which is unique to the Oga Peninsula area of Akita prefecture. The Namahage are demon-like beings which are portrayed by men dressed as masked ogres (oni) with traditional straw capes (mino), who go door-to-door in pairs or threes and admonish children who are lazy or who have been behaving badly. They are commonly shown on TV news making children cry as they visit homes in the neighbourhood during the New Year celebrations. Other, less traumatizing, festivals include the Yokote Kamakura Festival in February, where igloo-like snow houses (kamakura) are built across the city of Yokote, inside of each of which is a snow altar to the water deity to pray for ample water; or the Tsuchizaki Shinmeisha Shrine Float Festival, where floats with warrior dolls parade around the port area of Akita City. The women of the region are also famous as 秋田美人 (Akita bijin) or "beauties of Akita" and are known for their white skin, rounded faces and high voices.

By Bjckashiwa
Nyūtō Onsen is a traditional hot spring town in the eastern mountains of Akita. The town has six ryokan, or traditional inns, some of which date from the Edo period, and a hotel. The most famous hot springs is Tsurunoyu, which is over 300 years old, and considered to be one of the best establishments in all of Japan for a traditional and authentic onsen ryokan experience in the countryside. The onsen in the town can also be visited with general admission for those not staying in the inns. Most of the ryokan have mixed-gender onsen in addition to the male-only and female-only baths. The Yumeguri Pass can be purchased at the ryokan, allowing access to all seven of the hot springs, and a reservation at the ryokan on a shuttle bus allows for easy access to all of the onsen. Nyūtō Onsen means "nipple hot spring" referring to the shape of Mount Nyūtō nearby. The mountains and the deepest lake in Japan, Tazawako, are only a 30-minute bus ride from Nyūtō Onsen.

Thank you Cinzia! I seriously need to check my notifications more. I didn't even realise that you had answered my ask. Loved your timeline and fanfics. I completely get what you are saying about writing fanfic. It kind of just flows out when you are that invested in a pairing. Also, that CCS in Public domain ask.... if I am not wrong, Japan seems to have a different approach to it. I mean I have seen doujinshis and light novels being sold legally featuring (and being advertised with) CCS characters. I am not sure but it seems that is legal in Japan? Not sure of all this but I assure you that I have come across some R18 doujinshis featuring Junior High aged SyaoSaku. The horror...... Also, I didn't realise that Akiho and Sakura had lived together as sisters for 5 months post Alice in Clockland. I mean, they all don't look much different (I kind of presumed that it had been just a bunch of weeks, like autumn is over and winter has begun). Frankly, they should be nearer to the heights in the final chapter of OG CCS manga if the second year is about to begin (since Sakura and Syaoran were reunited in the beginning of the second year of JHS in the OG manga). Oh well, I will just chalk it down to art style change.
Thank you so much for reading my drabbles and finally check my timeline, Aubretia!! 😁I'm glad in the end it worked for you! ✨
About the doujinshi matter, hehe, it's not that simple. From what I know, doujinshi are considered 二次創作, "derivative works", and as such technically they aren't legal, if they don't have the authorization of the author. Often fanartists who produce doujinshi also produce what we call "fan merch", like printing their art on acrylic keychains, stickers, acrylic stands and such. Those fall into the category too. However, in the industry there is an unspoken agreement that such works are "tolerated" by copyright holders as long as the price they're sold at can be proven as a mere "reimbursement of the cost" to produce such merch (like the printing cost for the doujinshi/anthologies and the manufacturing cost for other items). Basically, the fanartists don't have to earn money from this (or I guess the don't have to earn too much). Usually artists print a definite amount of copies to sell at conventions and a definite amount to sell online, so it doesn't "become too much" and attracts "too much attention" from the copyright holders. These are tolerated only because it turns into further promotion for the IP, so of course the fanartists need to know their place and not overdo it. So it's not legal, but it is common practice to "close an eye" on it (and yes, this means that there's literally anything, as you pointed out, out there).
For Akiho and Sakura living together, yeah it's more or less from 4 to 5 months! I calculated this from the fact that when the play started, they had barely changed into their winter uniform at school, and usually that happens on a set date in Japan, on October 1st. Now, in the chapter of the play (63) you can see lots of people attending the school festival, and many of them wear short sleeves, while other wear mid or long sleeves. This definitely made me think that there were still quite nice temperatures so it probably wasn't in late October but rather at the beginning of it (I even thought it might have been September and they changed uniforms early). When Kaito activated the forbidden magic, things continued exactly from where they were left off before he brought Sakura and Akiho to Clockland, so when we come back in chapter 70 it's still everything on the same day of the play. And then, when we see how things are going for them in chapter 71, we see everyone wearing the "super winter uniform", as I jokingly call it, along with coats, scarves, gloves, it's even snowing at some point! And they also say that "soon" Sakura is going to become a second year student at Tomoeda Middle school, so I had already pinpointed the month when all of this was happening as end of February. When the last chapter dropped, turns out I was right, because just 4 days after the "last battle" Akiho says she would've left Tomoeda one month later, and when we see her and Kaito on their departure day, cherry blossoms are starting to bloom, so that means that they are at the end of March. So, in short, Sakura and Akiho spent as sisters an indefinite part of October, all of November, December, January and all of February together before they realized what the heck was happening. Yeah, it's all a matter of looking around you and observing "the silent hints" (isn't all of Clear Card like that, after all?) and you can get a lot of the context. 😉👍
And oh, I absolutely don't suggest to take any of the OG manga panels as a reference for the heights and such because back then CLAMP's style was very different. They tended to make their characters so tall (and their legs so long!) especially when they had to indicate that kids had grown up. Their chins were more pointy, the shoulders wider (I always laugh when I look back to Syaoran with those wide shoulders)...yeah it was something completely different. Now Mokona sensei respects body proportions a lot more and I also have to say that the poses of her characters are more natural and not "stiff" as they were before. I also love how more expressive they've become. I do agree though that if she could make them a tiny bit taller it would be better. This is something that I've constantly "complained" about during the serialization.
Besides, I always understood that Sakura and Syaoran were in their first year at Tomoeda Middle school, at the end of the OG manga? Cause Sakura says "my brother is going to poke fun at me oversleeping even though I've become a middle schooler!" so it suggests that the change had just happened? Well, Clear Card is its sequel and it starts exactly like the last pages of volume 12, with an "extended version" of the finale, so I think that the kids being in 1st year of middle school is what CLAMP had always intended since 2000.

Camus (All Star) Memorial
Translator: Mimi (twitter: _mimisaurora)
Memorial 12 - Communicate with Silk Palace
I wearily climbed up the stairs of the hideout.
I stopped in front of the heavy wooden door and checked to confirm there was nothing unusual.
—I took a deep breath and placed my hand on the doorknob.
—Welcome back, Camus-senpai.
Something crossed my mind in that moment, but I chose not to dwell on it, and stepped into a plain room.
The room was dimly lit and smelled faintly of dust.
I sat down on the bed, and a sigh slipped through my lips.
Her Majesty's curse has yet to be broken, and the rebels have not been caught either.
It was snowing outside the window.
The wind had never been this violent while Her Majesty was in good health….
It was already late at night, and although I needed to get some sleep in preparation for tomorrow, I was still wide awake.
“...I'll sing a little.”
Once the door to this small room made of stone was closed, no one would be able to hear me outside.
I quietly rose to my feet and opened my mouth.
The Shining Song Festival was just around the corner.
I had to finish this song no matter what.
“The lyrics aren’t right…”
It would normally be inconceivable for me to feel lost, but it may be because my patience was wearing thin.
While the song is still unfinished, nothing felt right.
I sang the song a few times, then quit and sat back down on the bed.
That's when the lamp on my desk lit up in a pale blue-white glow.
“Camus-sama.”
“...What is it?”
The voice belonged to a subordinate who was to be staying downstairs.
What happened at this late hour?
“Reverend DaRuma is here.”
“Let him through.”
I replied and stood up.
High Priest DaRuma was a wizard from Agna Palace.
He was invited to our country by the Grand Chancellor to break the curse on Her Majesty.
No one knows yet that he and I know each other through Aijima.
“...Here you go. My apologies that this is all I can serve you.”
A cup of tea was placed in front of Daruma, now having been invited into the room, and the old man's face lit up with a smile.
“Oh my. I still thank you nonetheless. A cup of warm tea is the best remedy for cold weather.”
“Agnapalace's climate is very warm, so the cold here must be tough for you. Well, High Priest. What is it that you want to tell me about Her Majesty…”
The fact that he’s here means there has been new developments regarding the curse.
But he shook his head, looking conflicted.
“There has been no change in the Queen’s condition.”
“But, I’d heard that she regained some of her strength a few days ago.”
“That was certainly the case, but things are now back to the way they were before. We are still unsure what caused this increase in power…”
“I see.”
“However… I am convinced that someone on the outside is sending their power as support. A heart that sincerely wishes for the Queen to recover. I can feel the love.”
I listened intently to his explanation.
Agna Palace's magic holds many secrets I don't fully comprehend.
I could only rely on DaRuma for now.
Once he finished talking, I began to consider the details, and I noticed him watching me with a curious look on his face.
“What is it?”
“It’s nothing. I expected you to be more expressive.”
“Is that so?”
And before I could say anything more, he continued.
“I apologize for taking you by surprise. I must have misunderstood.”
“It’s no issue…”
“One of the men remarked to me after I arrived how ‘the Earl was always one to never show his emotions.”
I couldn't think of a way to answer, so I gave a curt response instead.
“It's not something I know for myself, but it may well be true.”
“Well, I recall Cecil mentioning how in Japan you would often yell at him....”
“Prince Cecil did…?”
Upon hearing me ask, DaRuma’s smile reached his eyes.
“Yes. He said you were quick to anger, yelled often, had an evil laugh, and easily offended.”
He spoke with a joyful tone, as if he were recounting the story of his timid grandson's first fight with a friend.
But seriously, Aijima.
What kind of things are you snitching about?
This old man has no discretion.
“But... that your gaze becomes very tender in the presence of his lover.”
“What? I have no lover.”
When I tilted my head, he looked at me oddly.
“I heard it was the female composer.”
“I see. We live together for various reasons, but are not in that kind of relationship.”
“Then please forgive my indiscretion.”
DaRuma stretched out both hands and crossed them in front of his chest.
It was an apologetic gesture in Agnapalace.
It reminded me of my kouhai, whose mannerisms had become completely Japanese.
I wonder what everyone in the agency is doing right now.
It's none of my concern what those rowdy individuals do, but I do hope they’re not causing trouble for the people around them.
I’m particularly concerned about Aijima specifically….
“... Earl Camus? Is something the matter?”
“Ah, no. Thank you for your service to our country.”
“Oh, by all means. The Silk Palace has once saved our country, you know. Now, if you’ll excuse me.”
“Please have a safe journey.”
“Not to worry, I am still a well-known wizard.”
The old man smiled fearlessly.
Just as I thought he was about to leave, DaRuma abruptly turned in the doorway and commented how there was still one thing that concerned him about Her Majesty.
“All of the magic supply in Silk Palace comes from the Queen, yes?”
“That is correct. In our country, the only one who possesses magical properties is Her Majesty alone. Thus, all curses are derived from her power.”
However, once magic is transferred to an object, it ceases to belong to Her Majesty, and is then used at the will of the owner to whom the object was given.
The only factor in determining whether or not it becomes a curse is the presence or absence of malice.
This is why rebellions such as this one are possible….
“But, this is what I think. Perhaps…”
After sharing some foreboding words, DaRuma leaves.
He closes the door and casts a sealing spell.
“Aijima really said I’m easy to anger and yell a lot… hmph.”
There’s certainly something that cannot be denied.
I have spent many years in Japan and as a part of the agency.
I never intended to become close with them, but being surrounded by such boisterous people may have had its influence on me.
“I am, after all, the only sane person in this agency.”
If I recall correctly, I got off to a bad start with Saotome early on.
Aijima was difficult to deal with, Kotobuki was annoying, Kurosaki was infuriating, Mikaze was full of himself, Ittoki and Shinomiya were too friendly, Hijirikawa had a strange sense of humor, Ichinose was, well, tolerable, but Kurusu was too loud, I found Jinguji's straight face irritating, Tsukimiya's persona was tiring, and while Hyuga was a reasonable guy, Shibuya had a foul mouth.
And then…
I won't think about it beyond that.
I raked a hand through my hair and glanced back into the dark room.
The snow had stopped at some point, and I could see the starry sky shine through the frosty windows.
As I sat in a chair, I reflected on DaRuma's words earlier.
“This ice curse is only possible because of the Queen. That is why I cannot grasp why she so easily succumbed to it.”
“That’s…”
“A borrowed power stands no chance against its originator. Is that not how it should be?”
“And yet, Her Majesty is cursed and is still trapped in ice.”
“That's what I cannot understand. Could it be that the Queen herself wishes to be kept frozen?”
Her Majesty wishing to be kept frozen?
Her Majesty wishes to remain frozen alone, not ever opening her eyes or speaking a word to anyone?
“... I don’t know.”
I shake my head.
I don't know how Her Majesty feels.
I am the Queen's sword. A sword has no self-will.
As her servant, it is my duty to obey her.
It's what I've always done.
Now, even though I try to think about her Majesty's feelings, I cannot figure them out.
I didn't believe she meant it when she said she was going to leave the country.
Is that what she really wanted?
Did she sincerely want to abandon everything?
I suppose this shows how consumed Her Majesty is by her despair over this country.
“Camus, will you weep when I die?”
I remember Her Majesty asking some time long ago.
“I fear that while this Camus remains by your side, it is impossible that Your Majesty’s life would be in any danger. I therefore cannot answer that question.”
“...I understand. Then, do you think the people will grieve?”
“Absolutely. There would not be a single person who would not mourn Your Majesty’s death.”
“...I suppose so. I'm certain they would all be saddened by the death of their queen... But… No one would shed a tear for me.”
I wonder what answer Her Majesty would have wanted at the time.
And it wasn't just that one time.
I might have been mistaken all along.
Did Her Majesty despair of me as well?
Of a powerless retainer who, despite boasting that he would grant every wish, was unable to accomplish a single thing.
“If Her Majesty is willing to accept this curse, then the answer to save her is in the feelings of those around her.”
I don't get it.
I would rescue her from the ice now, but I don't know how to be warm.
I, who have never loved and been loved, cannot comprehend the sentiments Her Majesty, who always had her heart set on Saotome, feels for him.
“Your song has no passion.”
It reminds me of those terribly infuriating words.
It's no wonder. How can I fulfill my role as a knight if I fail to keep my cool?
Just as no one would shed a tear for Her Majesty, not a single person would shed a tear for me.
Not one…
Suddenly, I'm reminded of something.
The two of us were enjoying a pot of chocolate.
I was thinking to myself about something so insignificant, like how I would be unable to eat such delicacies once I returned to Silk Palace.
When I told her, she cried.
I had no idea why, only that I was so astonished and confused that I wanted to do something to stop those tears….
—Don't think about it.
She had no reason to cry.
She was safe, the song she had been working on was almost complete, so there was no need for her to be so upset.
—Don't think about it.
I know I should turn a blind eye, but something compels me to face.
I remember those tears as if they were right in front of me.
A single drop which appeared to be glistening.
“Was it… for me…?”
A pain shoots through my chest in that moment. This is the blade that will break me.
I hear my own voice urging me to stop thinking immediately.
But in my memory, she is looking straight at me, not noticing her own tears.
Something in me bursts.
I experience a strange pain, and I'm flooded with emotions.
The hurt was not physical, but I subconsciously pressed a hand to my chest and tried to stifle what was coming from it.
Have I forgotten my place?
Have I forgotten about my master?
I cannot afford to think about this kind of thing in light of the mission I am on.
—Seriously? Is it not continually shutting away these thoughts that has brought you to this point?
I wouldn't be surprised if she was indeed crying for me. She would cry for anyone. That's the kind of person she is.
—Do you really believe that after living together and hearing that song? Did you truly feel nothing when the sound of that piano resonated in your heart?
Shut up. The music had no effect on me.
—Then why did you deliberately take your cello with you all the way to Japan?
I'm telling you to shut up. Suppose our feelings are mutual, then what?
My mission puts my very life on the line, all the more to avoid getting together if we have feelings for each other.
If she stays with me, she will have to give up her dream.
The right choice is to leave her behind.
Then these thoughts would be unnecessary.
—If you truly believe that, then life–
I am resolved to commit evil for the sake of my master.
If we stay together, she can no longer remain ignorant as she has been.
Will you deprive that innocent being of her dreams and put her in your position?
Is that not a sin?
What other way is there to call this than immoral?
Therefore, I'm going to…
—Life must be easy.
“I said shut up!!”
My voice echoed through the room, snapping me out of my trance.
What am I doing?
I look like a fool, yelling at myself.
I take a deep breath and, at the same time, drive out those aggravating human words ringing in my head.
They are the words of someone who has renounced his title as a nobleman. They are not worth listening to.
It's all over in the first place.
No matter what I think now, she and I...
That's when I realized.
I didn't even confirm her feelings.
I decided it all on my own, and told her.
“...This is ridiculous.”
It would be a very foolish idea if she wanted to be with me.
I need to put a stop to it.
It's the least I can do.
Then why did I have her name me....?
Nevermind. It was a whim. It only occurred to me because she strangely looked so sad when I told her my name.
Seriously?
Was this truly the right choice?
If she had wanted to, we could have chosen to be sinners together.
It's too late now.
Our paths have parted.
We will lead separate lives.
She is not in my future and I am not in hers.
It sounds so cold…
“...I said to not think about it. Freeze everything and forget about it.”
As I shook my head, I heard a small clink.
I slipped my hand into my breast pocket and felt the aurora-colored stone brush against my fingertips.
“Right… This is where I put it.”
I put the stone in my palm and rolled it a little.
An aurora-colored stone that is supposed to protect its owner.
I had brought one of the two sent to me by my men for peace of mind.
The other is now with—
I shake my head again and place the stone back in my left breast pocket.
My lips moved slightly from the emotion I thought I had suppressed.
“...Haruka.”
A familiar noise started to fill my head.
I know it's to indicate a transmission.
But... this stone connects to….
What did I do.
 “This is…”
The white light stretches my shadow on the floor.
I never taught her how to use it, nor did I adjust it.
There’s no way to make a connection, unless, that is, she also called me by name at the same time, which shouldn't be possible.
Stunned, I looked at the light above me.
Haruka...
You called for me?
My name... at the same moment as I.
A voice rang out from the light as if to tell me this was no dream.
“Camus-senpai?! Is it you?!”
It is… the voice I wanted to hear.
Finally, something settled in my chest.
It felt like relief, and it so naturally calmed me.
…Is that okay? I suppose it is.
Her bewildered voice was something I had heard many times in Japan.
In a blink of an eye, this dark room almost seemed to turn into that living room.
…Haruka.
I silently gazed up at the light.
I could easily picture her face on the other side of it, and my face relaxed into a smile.
Like a sheet of ice in the sun, my doubts simply melt away.
I'm sure she won't notice a thing about what I just went through.
This is fine with me.
Let's enter into a foolish dream that will last until the Song Festival.
One where Her Majesty is saved and I show her the outside world, and where I live happily ever after with Haruka.
I won't tell her how I feel.
But I won't stay frozen any longer.
I grin, then take a small breath.
“Quiet down, you fool!! What time do you think it is!!”

B1A4, OMG, ONF Google Drive Folders Masterlist (Updated December 6, 2022)
So if any of you have been on my Twitter, you may know that I have (a lot of) Google Drive folders holding different performances that I’ve subbed for B1A4, OMG, and ONF and this here is the Masterlist for them having the links to the folders and describing what they all contain.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to reach out because I know this is a lot of stuff and it may be hard to find things. The only folder that doesn’t specifically have what’s in it is the Special Folder. But the first section is all of the live performances and then the second consists of the subbed videos that I have and that are uploaded.
I’ll be updating this from time to time, too, so this isn’t the final list and I don’t think it ever will be.
But let me know if you have any questions. Thanks to everyone and enjoy!
- Marisa

Sera Myu Music Festival 2022 Blu-Ray
Event was held at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Stellar Ball in Tokyo from November 17th – 20th, 2022.
I missed it by less than two weeks since I wasn't in Japan until December of that year. I doubt I would have stood a chance getting tickets.
Can we also talk about how excited I am to have Japanese Blu-Rays being the same region where I live? Makes it so much easier!!!

"Peace of mind is the meaning of life."
Tumblr media
Introduction
Kotan Anchikar is the leader of the Hakodate rap battle team, Kuma no ie. He is known by his MC name, Kamuy. The newly-appointed chieftain of the Ainu people after his father sadly passed, this young man has very large shoes to fill as he tries to lead his people the right way in a world that is ever-changing. With Chuohku exerting their influence over all parts of Japan, can he and his tribe continue to maintain their way of life in this constantly shifting landscape?
Tumblr media
As a member of the Ainu people of Hokkaido, Kotan has sunbaked skin, which is ironic considering his people thrive in cold climates. He has black eyes that are very keen and perceptive. Underneath his eyes are red lines that symbolize his heritage. He has black hair that is tied in a short ponytail that goes down past his neck, stopping at the top of his back. He doesn't have noticeable muscles but is in shape due to his lifestyle.
He dresses rather formally, as depicted by his attire, which is due to his job as the chieftain of his tribe. He dresses in the Kinagashi style, wearing a light blue haori with an olive-colored nagagi underneath. His nagagi is fastened with two haori himo. He wears tabi socks and a pair of zōri over them. On the back of his haori, there is an imprint of a bear's face. Finally, he has a charm earring in his right ear.

Hypnosis Microphone
Kotan's Microphone is a ribbon mic on a stand. Both the mic and the stand are made entirely out of wood. The stand is based off the inau sticks that the Ainu people use during rituals. The stand is also decorated with yellow feathers.
His Speaker takes the form of a spectral bear that stands up on its hind legs. In its paws, it is holding onto a speaker.
His rap ability, Blessings of Kim-un-kamuy, allows Kotan's speaker to fuse with him, drastically improving his attack, defense, and stamina. It also makes him immune to any negative effects the enemy may use on him. The downside is that he can only stay like this for up to three minutes. If he and his team haven't won the battle by then, he is automatically eliminated.
Kotan's rap themes are centered around the Ainu people and his way of life. He often raps about how the world is evolving or changing too quickly and that people need to slow down and enjoy life as it comes. He also raps about the struggles and rewards of responsibility, and about his love for his family and friends.
Personality
A humble and somewhat soft-spoken young man, Kotan is not exactly what one would expect as the chieftain of his tribe. He often appears to be meek, innocent, kind, moderate, and nice in contrast to many other people in Japan. A pacifist by nature, he dislikes violence and arguments, often seeking other methods of trying to resolve a conflict. His father, who was a skilled talker, always instructed him to never resort to violence, unless it is a last and final resort. And maybe not even then.
That's not to say that Kotan will not defend himself or his people if needed. Despite disliking violence or arguments, he will gladly fight to protect his home, his family, his tribe, and his way of life. He does not suffer insults or being mocked gladly, and won't stand by while someone degrades him or his people. He also will not tolerate poachers preying on the animals. If they are hunting for food, then that is one thing. But he won't tolerate or forgive people who kill animals for sport or, worse yet, for fun. However, he will not reciprocate and kill them as it is his principle to never take a human life.
As stated, Kotan deeply respects the Ainu culture. The Ainu revere nature and consider animals godlike beings kamuy, so he always honors his prey and everything he uses as gifts from the kamuy. Because of his love for people's way of life, he often struggles with new-world ideas or things that conflict with the Ainu way of life. However, he knows that the world is constantly changing and evolving, and he is not so foolish as to believe that he and his people will outlive the rest of the world. This makes sticking to his ways all the more difficult. He often wishes there was a way for him to preserve his people's independence and a way to ensure that the Ainu will never be forgotten or erased.
As the current chieftain of his tribe, Kotan often feels the pressures of his position. Though he is dedicated to leading his people, he often suffers from self-doubt and stress due to his bad habit of trying to handle everything by himself, or by trying to appear fine when he really isn't. He wants to be a great leader like his father and often finds himself comparing himself to the former chieftain, which only helps to stress him more. It often takes his grandmother lecturing and chastising him to bring him back to his senses. She frequently chides him to 'stop being someone that he is not, and just be himself.'
Though he often appears cold and withdrawn, around those he is comfortable with, Kotan is very jovial. He loves his younger sisters very much but wishes they wouldn't tease him so much. And he always looks to his grandmother for some sort of wisdom or guidance. He is good friends with his family friend, Ted Bridges, and has a good relationship with Kokomi, who taught him how to ski, which helps him with hunting. Though he is cautious around outsiders, after warming up to them, he is a good friend to have.
Background
*Coming soon*
Trivia
His sisters frequently tease him about the fact that he hasn't shown interest in a girl before.
When he is stressed, he'll often disappear from the village for a time to walk through the mountains and forests to calm himself.
He owns a wolf and a hawk, both of which help him to hunt.
The land that he and his people live on was given to them by the former Japanese government.

AnimeGO 2023 Report!
Tumblr media
I had the opportunity to go to AnimeGO this year! It was a Japanese Pop Culture Festival that had so many things there! There was an arcade there, kimono dressing, yummy food and so much more!
I went with my good friend Pie (@piedivide), which you’ll see him appear throughout this report! Thank you for the fun time, Pie!!! ヽ(>∀<☆)ノ
The report is below the cut!
So, context time.
Pie told me about this festival one day about a month or two ago. I didn't even know it was a thing in all honesty, but it sounded so cool! The tickets were pretty cheap as well, and was filled with things that we both liked (aka anime and Japan lol).
And so, we decided to go!
We bought tickets as soon as they came out, and awaited the day to come.
A few days before the Festival, we met up and looked through all of the activities that it was offering on the day. One of the activities that interested us the most is the Kimono Dressing. It only cost $10 for a ticket and you could dress up in a Yukata and take photos!
We literally bought the tickets right away (I pulled out my laptop just so I could buy it lmao), and we managed to get the same timeslot too!
With all of that, we were ready for Sunday!
Day of the Festival!
Before we went to AnimeGO, we took a detour to the UNIQLO store because they were having a Cardcaptor Sakura collaboration and I wanted to get a top if they had any left. Spoiler alert, they did not have any left ;;
We then went to a new bookstore that opened up in the same building, I had no idea it was even up there. I don't go into the city too often so it's always a surprise for me. The inside was very lovely, and of course we gravitated straight to the manga section.
A lot of older manga were there, especially the first three volumes of Animal Academy, one of my favourite manga! I used to borrow the first six volumes from the library, but they only have the second one now which sucks ;;
And so, I couldn't pass up this opportunity. I bought all the volumes lol
Tumblr media
And now all we had to do was find the entrance to the venue.
We knew the general direction, but not where it was exactly. We went up and down, thinking we were going the wrong way until we spotted a Nezuko cosplayer who saved us lol
Pie and I went all the way around to get to the venue and even got on an elevator, when we could have just walked through the train station ( ˙-˙ )
It's about the journey, not the destination! (tells myself that to make myself feel better lol)
We got these little wristbands to prove we bought tickets as soon as we got there and I managed to break the one I got for Pie orz
He had to get a new one. I’m sorryyyyyyyy (シ. .)シ
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We paid our respects to our Fumo overlords (or I forced Pie to)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arcade!! I love arcades.
The Arcade was the best part to me. All because they had Hatsune Miku Project Diva MegaMix + with the the arcade controls!
I freaked out a bit as soon as I saw it. I've never played this game with the arcade controller so I was pumped to try it!
I played Senbonzakura first, although I probably should have chosen the F version so I could have gotten the pretty MV but that's okay! I got to play and that's all what matters to me lol
I then played my favourite Vocaloid song ever, Butterfly on Your Right Shoulder. I actually failed it the first time because I forgot all of the controls for some reason lmao
I redeemed myself at the end and passed it, don't worry. I was so happy to play it. Len and Rin make me happy!
I also did Hand in Hand and that was fun too! Next time I want to play it more!
Pie did Ghost Rule with this lovely Module that looked so pretty. This is Snow Miku 2019!
Tumblr media
We tried out Sound Voltex, which was something I never heard of before. It looked sort of confusing at first, but was a lot of fun once you got the controls down! Aqua from Konosuba was the navigator and she made funny faces at you on the results screen if you did not so great.
Tumblr media
Would love to play it again some day.
We also played Taikou no Tatsujin and Muse Dash! We played the heavenly melody, the Calamari Inkantation by the one and only Squid Sisters, blessing the whole Festival with squid music.
Muse Dash was very enjoyable, it was my first time playing it. I heard of it beforehand but never had the chance to try it out. I tried playing it without knowing what the controls were but Pie was smart and pulled up the tutorial lmao
After 3pm, they had a prize gacha system in place where you had to play either a full session Taikou no Tatsujin or Muse Dash and you would get a gacha card upon doing so. You would then line up and roll for two coloured marbles from this white dispenser. The colour determines what type of prize you can choose from.
Yellow was the best one.
Although by the time we got there, most of the cool prizes were gone. They had a Lumine and Aether plushie, I would have so loved to have gotten one of them. But alas.
I only got to choose one prize, while Pie got to choose two.
I got this Haru Okumura from Persona 5 clear card hehe that I stuck up on my wall. Pie got a Marth amiibo and a Yusuke Kitagawa from Persona 5 clear file.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also walked through all the different stalls that were present! We saw a stand that had retro games, and Pie managed to snag the Ocarina of Time 3D for the 3DS for only $40, which is such a steal! I'm glad he was able to be reunited once again with the game.
Pie and I have this tradition where we each buy each other a print (only one, mind you) while at a convention/festival/wherever there is a print, and that’s what we did!
We went to the main artist alley and spilt up.
Pie got me a Kafka print (thank youuuu, I love it) and I got Pie a Kazuha print!
As soon as I saw it, I knew it was perfect. And it was even more fitting since it was Kazuha’s birthday too! ٩( ᐛ )و

Here is us in our pretty Yukata!
I chose this lovely blue pattern with flowers that caught my eye from the moment I saw it. And I chose well, it looks so good!
I felt so cool in it.
The original hair clip I wanted to use kept falling off my head, I felt bad for the person helping me get dressed aha
And then my hair was literally in the way the whole time, next time I'll tie it up. I did actually bring a hair tie but I forgot about it, welp aha
I'm glad I had this opportunity to do so!
Who knows when I’ll have another opportunity like this (unless I go to Japan….one day I’ll go!)

Food!
There was a lot of Japanese food there as expected from a festival such as this one! We tried this Japanese cheesecake which was really nice. Reminded me of something my grandma would make.
The daifuku was a bit too sweet for us both, although it wasn't bad! We got three different flavours: Mango, Strawberry and Matcha.
Much more squishy than I assumed it would be. I liked the mango one the most, I made a "mmh!" sound because I was so surprised at how mango it was and Pie laughed at me.
I can't understand what Pie meant when he says matcha tastes like a tree, I couldn't taste anything I swear lol
I was sitting there, chewing my heart out but the matcha flavour never came...I think my sense of taste was gone that time...

(i forgot to take a photo of what I ate i'm sorry)
We went to a maid café! It was our first time at any sort of maid café. The maids were very pretty and so kind! I ordered a Matcha Custard Puff and Pie ordered a Pumpkin Mini Loaf, which you can see above!
When I received my order by a lovely maid, I was asked if I wanted my food blessed by them. And of course I said yes!
Gotta go all in after all.
We did this little blessing sequence together and it was actually pretty fun! I managed to say everything properly, I thought I messed it up at the end but I did it!!
The food was pretty good. Blessing worked! The matcha custard was really nice. Even Pie, who doesn't like matcha liked it.
Blessings are powerful.

AnimeGO ended at 6pm, and we were about to head home. It felt sort of unfinished to me, like it didn't truly feel like the end. I didn't want to leave so quickly and so suddenly.
I still wanted to do more.
While I was waiting for my train to arrive, Pie suggested we should go out to the bridge that's outside of the station to kill some time. We walked across a bit of it, and we saw that there was a different festival going on below.
For context, AnimeGO was part of a bigger festival called OzAsia that's been running for the past two weeks I believe. That's the one we saw going on below.
Pie and I saw this other festival from the time we got to AnimeGO earlier in the day, but we assumed that we had to pay to go to that one so we took no heed of it aside from commenting it looked cool.
But that's when I spotted a large sign that said "Free Entry" from the bridge and I was like...we should go there. It was free and we were literally right there. It was still light out!
I never did tell my mum when I was heading home anyway. So it was all finee.
And we did go! It's sort of our thing, doing things rather spontaneously haha
It was the Lucky Dumpling Festival, filled with stalls of food you could buy and a stage with performances! It was really cool.
Tumblr media
We saw a stall that sold Takoyaki, which was actually the same stall we bought Karaage Chicken from AVCon!
We missed out last time, so we couldn't miss this chance this time. Pie and I bought one to share, since it was a bit expensive and we weren't sure how much we would like it either.
We had to wait like 20-30 minutes. In the meantime, on the stage arrived three idols.
They started to sing.
And the first song they sang was Saijoukyuu Paradox (最上級ぱらどっくす), Idol Time Pripara's second opening.
When I heard it, I was like "WHATTTTT".
I freaked the heck out, I literally never thought I would ever hear this song in a random festival. I love Pripara, and so to hear this song made me so so SO happy.
Pie can attest to that.
I did not catch nor their names or unit name after the song ended aha
We were sorta far from the stage to hear it properly. But they looked so cool! I loved their outfits. I loved the fact they sang that song like aaaaaaa
And so I stanned these idols who I had no idea what their names were lmao
Our Takoyaki was ready after a while, and we looked for a seat...which was rather hard. There were no seats at all, and we were going to use a random table I saw that we would have to stand at or sit on the grass.
That was until we walked through the front area where the stage was, which had loads of benches.
And lo and behold, there was an empty bench I spotted. Right near the stage. I literally pointed to it aggressively and sprinted to it, so no one could take it. It was ours!
Takoyaki was really good. Like wow! I wished I had more of it then. I am so buying it next time it is available somewhere. So warm…
Of course I am a failure when eating so my Takoyaki balls were falling apart aha ( ´_ゝ`)
We ate it while watching the idols perform various songs and it was so much fun!
There was death metal screaming and it was incredible. The talent.
Such awesome idols. (*≧∀≦*)
Pie and I learnt that we could actually meet them and buy merch from them after the performance.
And of course we did! We were again there already and it’s not everyday you meet idols!
At this point I learnt they were called A-Muse Project, and there was usually 6 members but there were only three here today. It was their first time in Adelaide in fact! They're from Brisbane!
They were so nice and so kind! It was hard to hear them because we were right next to the stage and the next performance was on. And the wind was freezing by the time we managed to talk to them, I was so cold.
Was worth it. Anything for idols lol
We got these little group Cheki with them for $15 and they signed it too! I've never done anything like this before, but it was a lot of fun!
There were also penlights on sale for about $40, which was a bit too much for us so we passed on them.
We didn’t want the signatures to smudge so we just held them carefully for a really long time to make sure (even if we checked they were dry) lol
It now felt like the day was complete. I'm glad we did go to this festival as well!
It’s my first Polaroid I’ve ever gotten and I stuck it up on my wall hehe
Tumblr media
We saw many cool cosplayers too, and we vow to cosplay next time we go because it felt sort of like a missed opportunity.
We didn’t get any photos with any of them because it’s honestly rather awkward asking people randomly “hey, can I take a photo?” while not in cosplay aha(´-`).。oO
But I did stare in awe.
There was this maid Xiao that we kept seeing everywhere, quite literally. We saw them at AnimeGO and at the Little Dumpling Festival.
We joked that if we called Xiao’s name, they'll come lol
There was a really cute March and such a cool Stelle! And a really cool Dottore that kept eluding me and disappearing randomly, it was rather incredible and creepy at the same time lol
There was also this Flandre Scarlet cosplayer which I absolutely loved. I watched them play Taikou no Tatsujin while waiting in line for the game.
I want to do that one day too, do that cosplay and then play Bad Apple lol
Point is, a lot of cool cosplay.
This place is literally like paradise for someone like me. I love anime, manga and gaming! People are so nice at conventions, I love the atmosphere and simply, I'll never get enough of it all.
We did so many things. It was such a fun day, and I won’t forget about it for a long time.
Thank you for reading!

Christmas in Hyperion Heights
Part of my Christmas series last winter.  Posted on Ao3 here.
Series: Once Upon a Time
Ship: MadArcher
Characters: Alice Jones/Tilly, Robin/Margot
There was a tiny bit of snow on Christmas Eve in Hyperion Heights. Having fallen the night before between one and four AM, it had only stuck in a few places, like the grass and the top of the troll statue. Then it had turned to rain, which had made slush on the roads; and then everything had iced over as it got later and colder. In the end, it wasn’t so much a winter wonderland as an invisible, city-wide ice rink.
It didn’t matter to Robin and Alice. They were tucked away in their one room apartment, which was bursting to the seams with Christmas. There was tinsel and homemade ornaments and decorations from the different countries Robin had been to when she was Margot. The kitchen table was currently covered haphazardly in wedding plans. They had their venue booked for April, but they were still figuring out details, like seating arrangements and cake flavors.
So they were instead sitting on the floor, sharing a blanket and a big bucket of KFC.
“Best Christmas dinner ever.”
“Right? Holidays should only be celebrated with fried chicken. So much better than turkey.”
“And they do this in Japan?”
“Yup.” Robin put down her chicken and dug her fork into one of the containers of sides. “And mac and cheese, I love having mac and cheese for Christmas.”
“And beignets.” Alice held one up proudly.
Robin smiled. “You’re really getting the hang of those.”
“Thanks.” Alice smiled widely, before taking a big bite. “It’s nice, having a normal job. And I’m good at it. Never thought that would happen.”
“It’s not so bad, having roots.” Robin tore apart her biscuit and grinned. “But wait until the honeymoon. Three weeks, six countries. You’re gonna love it.”
“Not as much as you’re gonna love Wonderland. Well, I hope. Time is strange there, it’s a lot to get used to.”
Robin touched her forehead to the side of Alice’s face. “Then I’ll get used to it. Thanks to the curse, I’ve got travel experience now, remember?” She kissed her fiancée’s cheek, then picked up her wrist, under the old yarn bracelet and the new silver charm bracelet that she’d given Alice for Christmas. She wrapped her arm around Alice’s shoulders and tucked back into their fried chicken feast. “When’s your dad coming?”
“He said around noon.” Alice peered out the window. “Think the weather will be better by then?”
Robin looked outside too and smile. “Yeah, Tower Girl. I think it’s gonna be just fine.”
On the windowsill was one of Alice’s gifts to Robin, an anatomically correct heart-shaped vase currently filled with poinsettias, which made it look both festive and macabre. There was frozen over slush on the windowsill, but in spite of all the city and holiday lights, they could just make out the stars bright in the sky.
Alice leaned on Robin’s shoulder. “I think you’re right. I think this Christmas is going to be perfect.”
