Mobility Aids

Sadly I’m at the point where just walking around my house hurts (8/10 and sometimes an 9/10) and I’m kinda stuck on if I should get a wheelchair on my own or if I should just wait til I see one of my specialists bout it. It’s just so painful and I hate using Advil bc it makes me sleepy and I just knock out for a good couple of hours. So, I don’t know what to do. My body is just in constant pain.

Mind you I have forearm crutches just a little lost on what to do.

when my grandma died i was only 8

i became familiar with the stages of grief before i even knew how to properly tie my shoes

i used to convince myself that she wasn’t really dead

images of her breaking out of her mausoleum would come into my mind every day

i imagined her walking down the street, a blanket around her shoulders

shivering from the cold

trying to find her way back home.

i looked for her during every car ride

hoping we might pass her wandering.

we never did.

i’m 23 now,

and i still look for her in older women i see in public

hoping i might see shared features

or the same glasses

maybe a similar voice.

i’ve never found her

but i don’t think i’ll ever stop looking

I'm staying home today ! My mom was angry but like I didn't feel well. I wish I could be energetic & not be sick all the time like most boys & girls I see in town. I feel like I'm missing out on being a teen. Well, anyway, I have a doctors appointment today, so I gotta get up at 12:00 pm to get ready (it's 7:30 am right now). Submission is free, turnaround times to hear back are about a week, and previously published work is a-okay! I'm a writer too and I know how maddening the journal submission process can be, so I founded Goosewax to help writers get their foot in the door and gain a publication credit without the frustration that usually comes with submission.
