Genuinely /never/ understood why anyone complained about Preston being annoying or giving too many quests, at all. Like it never would have even occurred to me on my own anyone might be annoyed by the Minutemen. I’ve played genuinely horrifying numbers of hours of that game. I was General and I took every quest they sent me, and it’s not bad. It’s really not that much. If you take care ya damn settlements and build them defenses and stuff, they don’t get attacked much. It was a non-frequently occurring radiant quest and like yeah? I literally agreed if my own volition to take on the role of answering citizen requests for help? “You can’t talk to Preston without-“ what are you talking about? I’ve traveled with him for irl days straight and never /once/ gotten a radiant quest that way. Yeah, before I had found settlements the first time, sometimes he’d mention a new one. Then it was right back to normal convo. And even that was literal years ago? Now they just come up on Radio Freedom, or Pip-Boy requests. Preston’s easily one of the most wonderful and fun to travel with??? He’s just a very good, pretty, nice young man with a cowboy hat? He’s kind and fun and thoughtful? What? What’s wrong with him, his coat’s too long???

so basically i want to try to make a more statistically sound version of that “most handsome young masters” poll since the structure of the other one can’t take into account having opinions about multiple characters/an order of preference

e.g. xue yang made it past the preliminary rounds where jin zixuan did not—it may be that people do think xue yang is more handsome than jin zixuan, but it’s also possible that jin zixuan is a solid 2nd/3rd/4th/etc choice for many people, and that simply didn’t get represented due to only being able to cast a single vote (ranked choice voting my beloved)

now the most “simple” thing to do would be to put everyone in 1v1 matchups—“between A and B, which one is the more eligible young master?”—and just compute greater than/less than values. but the problem with that is that for 15 characters, that would take *checks math* 115 different polls. which is a lot.

so anyway now i’m brainstorming other methods that are both effective AND time efficient…i’m thinking maybe like a data tree? would still have to wait to get sufficient (enough) results tho :/

Is it okay if you give the temp you use for the little flags?

This, this is going to sound selfish and I can't really stop you from doing so anyway but I would prefer not to?

There is a technical issue of I don't really have base versions of the flags? If I need a six stripe flag I just recolor a different six stripe flag. I also just use a little app on my phone so I can make em at work and I'm not sure what I can save it as that would be helpful?

And my poor justification for this is there aren't really a lot of pride pixel heart designs at least like that have a lot of them I can only think of one user whose name I can't remember whose hearts have a white shine to them? So a part of me wants more different styles, maybe with a different shine shape or brighter colors or sparkles or a little bigger or smaller.

But deep down the reason is just I want to make them and the idea of missing out on making one because someone else did is irrationally devastating and I don't wanna be an ass and outshine them by making it myself and posting it here. Kinda of like imagine you are putting a puzzle together and having fun. You are enjoying the hell out of the challenge, especially a particularly hard part it's exciting! and then you come home one day, and that part has been done by your roommate because they wanted to help and thought you were struggling. You say thank you because you don't wanna be an ass but you don't really wanna do the puzzle anymore because it doesn't feel like your puzzle.

God this is such a rambly way to say no but I'm not gonna stop you from saving and editing them but until I can get over this weird possessiveness towards the project and the part of my brain that is screaming "but I can make it for you!!" 9. What does your iterator think of their body? One organism with many moving parts? A giant computer? A small creature stuck in a box? etc.

A home, now left empty. A product of love living past those who loved it. A monument to the care that used to be there. Somewhere dearly cared for, that is now painfully, achingly lonely. Rad's can has been breaking down since they were constructed, and though it was a home to all the ancients that inhabited them, now it is more akin to a gravesite, slowly crumbling into the swamp they were built on. Nearly every piece of them was replaced at least once by the time Mass Ascension happened, and they consider every piece to still carry the hands of those who installed it - a single remaining splinter of those that used to be their citizens, left behind after mass ascension.

They consider their entire can and the many organisms that make it work to be parts of one body, but they have somewhat unconventional views on the specifics of that. They would have considered their citizens to be part of them as well, when they were still there.

10. If your iterator could be anything else other than an iterator, what would they be and why?

...honestly, we don't think that Rad would want to be anything but an iterator? Sure, they're slowly collapsing into the swamp, but if they were anything else then they wouldn't have been able to host the people that they used to. They wouldn't be able to form the same relationships with those who once worked on them, or watch people strew their halls with decorations for some insignificant occasion or another, or act as the same sort of assistance for their citizens' many, many repairs on them. A smaller, shorter-lived body of flesh could not have half the history, nor could it have had half the experiences. That said...

If they absolutely had to choose, post-mass-ascension, they would likely choose to become an Ancient themself. Take up the mantle of repairing their body, of archiving the many, many documents still left on them, of using the freedom of hands that can affect more than just their chamber to finish the work of those they used to host, and ensure it goes on for just a while longer, after their body crumbles to the ground. It wouldn't be a state of being that would last forever, of course, but nothing about them has ever been in the ballpark of lasting forever. They would just want... to finish things, in a sense. Or at least, to give their old citizens' work a bit more chance of surviving,
