it's the way cardan could ALWAYS tell jude and taryn apart and the only time he didn't was when he was poisoned and confused plus taryn was wearing enchanted earrings to make her more beautiful, because to him jude was always the most beautiful, so in his drugged state he assumed it was her..

It’s just… it is everything that Cardan thought Jude would notice his “SO OBVIOUS” exile riddle and thinks Jude to not hesitate to come back. Beside his certainty of her cleverness to piece the riddle together, he believed he was that clear about his feelings toward her; he had thought she absolutely ought to know how he feels for her.
Like oh buddy. BUDDY. Your wife had thought of the answer to your little riddle like you thought she would. But guess what? She has detrimental TRUST ISSUES. (Like… Ur super mean and hot, I can’t blame her.) Anyway.. it’s SUPER adorable of him to so wholeheartedly believe she wouldn’t question his trust. It reveals so much about his pov of thier relationship.
Jude thought Cardan’s (silly) trick was a (vile) trick, when it was simply a: “Im trying to impress/pay you back in kind with our romantic metaphorical sparring and eventually get you out of political drama for a bit,” trick.
I’m fucking laughing wow these delusional ass children I fucking love them.

"Cardan stands over me. His jacket is thrown on a nearby chair, the velvet soaked through with some dark substance. His white sleeves are pulled up, and he's washing my hands with a wet cloth. Getting the blood off of them"- The Queen of Nothing (Ch. 17)
Can I talk about this scene for a moment, because it really shows how much Cardan loves Jude. Here is a man who had been raised as a spoiled, neglected, cruel prince, caring for a mortal girl. He is helping her when she is in pain, and he is by her side even though he is High King of the Fae, and she is an (though technically not anymore) exiled mortal. He could have easily called for a servant to clean her, he could have given her her own room, he could have left her side, left her to die on the table. But no, here he is, lowering him self to her side, abandoning all the egotistical ways of thinking he was taught, and doing such a simple action, however unfitting of a king, because he doesn't trust anyone else with her to do it right.

forever thinking about Jude “i would've read your love letters every single night” Duarte and Cardan “prayed to God you'd be coming home alright, you would've been fine, we would've been timeless” Greenbriar ...

“You gave me your heart, and I’m keeping it.” She already owns mine, even if she doesn’t realize it.
“I spent much of my life guarding my heart. I guarded it so well that I could behave as though I didn’t have one at all. Even now, it is a shabby, worm-eaten, and scabrous thing. But it is yours. You probably guessed as much. But just in case you didn’t.”
i'll just leave it here

Season 5 Jonathan sims x Queen of Nothing by the crane wives
Ok?
(Magnus archives season 5 spoilers btw)
“Isn’t this what you wanted?” Cause he feels guilty about starting the apocalypse and especially that he benefits so much from it, his mind taunts him, you must have wanted this since you contributed to this, you knew you were part of something evil and yet you continued to feed it and look what happened. It’s all your fault etc etc
“Just finish what you started” even though they all decide to do Annabelle’s plan of dragging the fears into other worlds, Jon takes it upon himself to become the pupil and take on all the powers of the eye, he wants to finish what HE started by burning it all down.
And of course “Queen of nothing, wearing such a heavy crown” THE WATCHERS CROWN!!!
Anyways I did some art about this
(Better with brightness up)
The hands are Jonah/Elias cause he manipulated Jon into starting the apocalypse so he’s metaphorically crowning Jon with the watchers crown
Anyways,
You should go listen to the crane wives

It's so funny to me how when Vivi gives Jude the money from Bryren at the end of QoN, Cardan asks what for and Jude is like besting Grima Mog in a duel and then he's just like
what. whaaaaaaat. you what. i'm sorry what. you bested grima mog in a duel? HE SHOULD PAY YOU IN GOLD

Yes, yes, yes. We get it. Alina is the star of the show, the protagonist and blah blah blah.
But Zoya...IS THE QUEEN OF RAVKA.
I didn't expect them to stick to the books precisely, but I didn't expect them to rob a woman of her arc just to uplift another one.
So disappointed.
