i do feel like a mad scientist making various wand combinations and mentally giving them to Percy to see if they explode something or if they feel right. Like if I were in the wizarding world I would want to work for Ollivander fr. this shit fun. I would make sooo many wands like vine and phoenix feather tho it would piss him off. Me OMW> to combine cores that fall easily to the dark side with woods that make the wand incapable of working after being made to cast a single dark spell. me finding woods that are so protective and loyal and attached and giving them the most detached cores. like come ON ollie-vanderrrrrrrr (said like a silicon valley girl) let me make some interesting matches. either the wand will explode outright or we can meet some really interesting people

Hi, I read this sometimes ago, but forget the title. Hermione was left at the Manor, Voldy made her married Draco, and he protect her while they were there (eg. like Greyback made fun of them as "quite couple" at night). In the end, D and H went to Ollivanders to buy new wand but Ollivander declined Ds payment as a thank you gift for protecting H in the Manor. Thanks so much!

Jim Gray (Step-Father) — Jim helped Orele raise Melody, unaware for all that time that she wasn’t his biological daughter. When Orele and Melody moved to the United Kingdom, Orele wiped Jim’s memories of them… although, it was only three years later that their son Nick showcases a special ability that returns his memories to him and he immediately packs up and leaves to London to find them. Reuniting their family until Orele’s death when he finds out about Melody’s actions over the years, and he can’t forgive how she seems to have changed.

Gerald Ollivander (Uncle) — around Melody, him and her mother’s childish antics became a norm for her daily life.

Olivia and Garrick Ollivander (Grandma and Grandpa) — Melody learns everything her grandfather knows about wands, bonding with him over the lore and helping him out in the shop. Her grandmother is the heart of the family, always there to lend a helping hand.

However, she has proven that she still holds her as a friend when she tries to warn Melody of her boyfriend, Marcus’, cheating.

Marcus Flint — Marcus Flint whom she cared about but when it was clear he was in the relationship because of who her father is AND he never expected her (being the daughter of the most heartless dark wizard) to ever be able to love him back, she lost respect for him.

Draco Malfoy — Draco Malfoy has been her friend since they first met at age eleven, and he has crushed on her for just as long. They got together after her breakup with Marcus and, though they’ve had their disagreements, they are always there for each other.

Ancestry

On her mother’s side of the family are the famous wandmaker Garrick Ollivander, her grandfather, and his ancestors before him. There’s also her grandmother and her uncle Gerald.

On her father’s side of the family, his mother Merope Gaunt is from a long line of Salazar Slytherin’s descendants. His father was a Muggle whom he slain upon first meeting him.

REDWOOD Wand (rare) 

Favors those who are sturdy, proud, determined, arrogant and multi-talented.

This wand works best with those who are accomplished in all manner of magical skills and talents. However, such wands are less effective when used by someone skilled in a non-wand based art of magic.

It is one of the best wands to use in Dueling spells (defensive spells mostly) and Transfiguration and Dark Arts.

This wand type is seen among all the Houses of Hogwarts, but has a particularly strong affinity with both House Hufflepuff and House Ravenclaw.

Side Note(s) : Wand-quality redwood is in short supply, yet constant demand, due to its reputation for bringing good fortune to its owner. As is usually the case with wandlore, the general populace have the truth back to front: redwood wands are not themselves lucky, but are strongly attracted to witches and wizards who already possess the admirable ability to fall on their feet, to make the right choice, to snatch advantage from catastrophe. first, let's start with the core of the wand. dragon heartstring is a core commonly associated with dark magic, and while it is the easiest wand core to turn dark, that doesn't mean anything. it is a temperamental, powerful core, and it is not the most loyal by any means.

hawthorn is, interestingly enough, the wood of draco malfoy's wand (though his was shorter and used unicorn hair instead of dragon heartstring). according to gregorovitch, hawthorn "makes a strange, contradictory wand, as full of paradoxes as the tree that gave it birth, whose leaves and blossoms heal, and yet whose cut branches smell of death." while ollivander and gregorovitch disagree on many fronts, this they agree on, with ollivander stating that "hawthorn wands may be particularly suited to healing magic, but they are also adept at curses, and it has been generally observed that the hawthorn wand seems most at home with a conflicted nature, or with a witch or wizard passing through a period of turmoil."

in celtic mythology, hawthorn is a sacred tree that is associated with love, protection, duality, along with longevity (it can live for over 400 years!) continuing on with this healing theme. it is also known as the 'fairy tree' as faries used its foliage for shelter. it is also used in many herbal medicines in teas and the like. in the greek world, it was tradition to give a newlywed couple branches of trees like hawthorn. during beltane—a celtic festival that welcomes summer—hawthorn trees are decorated with ornaments and its branches are braided. the reason hawthorn is used is because of its commonness and its beauty.

now, with hawthorn's duality, dragon heartstring fits right in. it emphasizes the fierceness of a hawthorn wand's need to protect. if properly incensed, the owner of this wand can be very dangerous indeed, which is quite a hufflepuff and gryffindor sentiment.

with the wand being unyielding, the owner has a very low tolerance of what does not fit their ideals. this is quite odd, considering that hawthorn represents duality, amongst other things, so i suspect the owner is not as unaccepting as the flexibility (or lack thereof, in this case) suggests. indeed, with a length of 12 ½", the owner of the wand is quite a balanced person, despite their duality. they are a fierce lover and a fierce fighter.
