Halloween
Summary: you and the avengers spend Halloween together.

A/N: hi.. I’m sry I haven’t written in a while. School has been killing my creativity. This is gonna be more of a miniseries, more like 2-3 parts. It’s prob not gonna get much attention, but if you like it, just comment or re blog bc it helps my confidence with posting stuff on here. Halloween was a week away. Tony being Tony, already paid for the decorations for the tower, so basically all of the floors look like a haunted house. Rolls of toilet paper stretched across arches in the hallways, tiny spiders were all over furniture, bones and eyes and zombies and witches and everything in between that you could possibly think of was in the tower. The tower looked like a zombie on steroids; creepy yet entertaining at the same time.
Everyone was fine with the decorations, but the costumes were a big issue. Steve and Tony kept arguing over the ideas, both of them wanting to do group costumes. Everyone else had their ideas too, but Tony and Steve were at each other's throats for the past couple weeks, since like August. Your room in the tower was right by the meeting office, so hearing the two of them screaming at each other for the most stupid shit was driving you insane. Once it got to the point where you had to yell at them to shut up.
This morning, a week before Halloween, while everyone was there, you cleared your throat while you heard Steve and Tony bickering.
“Guys this is getting to be too much. We need to have a meeting to discuss these fucken costumes.” you said.
“Yeah this is getting out of control,” Nat agreed.
“Guys, cmon, you have to agree with me. All of us having Iron Man suits would be awesome. We could fly around the city all night and have so much fun!” Tony said.
“Tony, stop. All of us being soldiers is better.” Steve countered.
“STOP!” Clint groaned. “You guys are insane. We need to discuss this as a group.”
Tony and Steve sat across from each other, glaring at each other. Death was looming between them.
“Fine,” Tony sighed. “When and where?”
“The office, 2pm,” Nat said. “And everyone has to show up, that means you too Bucky.”
Bucky groaned from the other side of the room. He hated group discussions, he liked working alone better. Said that it was faster to be alone and you didn’t have to worry as much.

2pm finally rolled by. Everyone has showed up in the big office, one that seemed a little too big. Everyone was tired of the bickering and had showed up, thankfully.
Tony, Steve, Natasha, Clint, Thor, Bucky, Sam, Peter P, Shuri, Wanda, Vision, Loki and you were crowded around the table. Tony was standing at the end with a whiteboard, prepared to write down ideas.
“So guys, what do you want to do?” Tony said.
“What about we dress up as famous Star Wars characters?” Sam suggested.
“Nah, Steve isn’t going to know who Yoda is. That’s a must if we do Star Wars.” Tony said.
“Devils and Angels?” Wanda said.
“Not original,” Steve said.
“What about we just wear each other’s costumes?” Thor suggested.
“You really think you are gonna wear my wings?” Sam said, a hint of annoyance in his voice that made you and Bucky snicker.
“I don’t think any of you guys want to wear a leather catsuit,” Nat said.
“We could dress up as famous vines,” Shuri offered, smirking at you and Peter.
The three of you quoted vines daily and the rest of the team never knew what you guys meant, which made it even more fun. Eventually, Sam, Bucky and Clint started learning vines with you because they kept saying things which you guys followed up with vine references. The frustration got to the three men and they started to learn with you, but they weren’t nearly as attentive as you, Shuri and Peter.
“What’s a vine?” Steve asked.
“Vine was a website created in 2012, officially released in 2013. It was ultimately shut down in 2016. Vine was a website where users would create short videos an-” Vision said.
“Vis, I don’t think they want a whole essay,” Wanda said, seeing the reactions of the other Avengers. Sam had started to fake snore, Loki was muttering something to Peter about knifes, and Shuri was about to watch vines, from what you could tell.
“It’s this app filled with people saying and doing stupid things for attention,” Nat sighed.
“IT IS NOT STUPID! VINE WAS LEGENDARY!!” Shuri shouted.
“YOU WOULD DO THINGS FOR THE VINE, YOU UNCULTURED SWINE!!” you shrieked.
“EDUCATE YO SELF!” Clint shouted, right in Natasha’s ear. Doing that earned him a hard punch in the back of the head.
“Well I don’t have all day so we need something,” Tony groaned, hitting his expo marker against the whiteboard.
You and everyone else was trying to come up with ideas when all the sudden, quiet Peter Parker, who was pretty much the baby of the tower, spoke up.
“Mr. Frost Giant, God sir?” Peter asked.
“Loki,” Loki sighed, pleasantly shocked.
“So, you have ice powers right?” Peter continued.
“Yes, I am an ice giant,” Loki said.
“You should be Elsa for Halloween,” Peter gasped.
Then, out of nowhere, Clint jumped up, looking like he had 5 monster energy drinks and 10 packs of warheads.
“I’LL BE MERIDA!!!” he screamed.
“I must assume that I am going to portray Elsa then,” Thor said, with a smile on his face.
“So...we are doing Disney princesses?” Tony asked, slightly confused.
“Looks like it,” Bucky said.
“Who the fuck am I gonna be?” Shuri asked.
“Language.” Steve said.
You and Shuri looked at each other for a moment and with a slight nod of your head, you were both in a song.
“FUCK SHIT PUSSY ASS!!!” you and Shuri sang.
“MOTHERFUC-” Peter started to continue, but Tony just slapped his hand over Peter’s mouth. Tony swore that Peter wasn’t like a son to him, but this didn’t help his situation.
Steve was turning ad red as a tomato in his seat, not being able to process all the dirty words that escaped yours and Shuri’s mouths.
“Ok, who are all the Disney Princesses?” Tony asked, frustration in his voice as he looked down at Peter. Tony gave him a look, one that said “Stop this shit or you get your suit taken away for two weeks” and once Peter nodded his head slightly, Tony removed his hand.
Vision started to list a bunch of them off, even some of the ones that aren’t considered princesses, like Megara, Alice and Jane. Once Tony had a list of all the princesses, he started to write of all the avengers, making lines to match them up with their character.
“Ok, who wants to find their Disney princess counterpart first?” Tony asked.
“Me, I already asked before,” Shuri said rolling her eyes.
“Well I mean you already are a princess.” you said.
“Oh,” Shuri said. “I don’t have to dress up then. Haha. You can cross my name off, Tony.”
Tony sighed and rolled his eyes, while taking her name off.
“Next?” he sighed.
“What about me?” Steve asked.
“Oh this is gonna be interesting.” Sam grinned.
“Snow White.” Bucky said, without even hesitating.
“Wait why?” you asked.
“Ohhhhh, I think I see why,” Wanda smirked.
“Continue Barnes,” Natasha said.
“First of all, Snow White was the very first princess to come out. She came out in the thirties or forties. She’s the oldest. Steve was the first avenger and he is the oldest.” Bucky said.
“Bucky, you are a couple months older than me.” Steve countered.
“Second,” Bucky continued, ignoring his friend completely. “She is like the most gullible and is surrounded by followers. Snow White was like living with seven dwarfs. And she was underage and just lived with them. Steve here, was the leader of the Howling Commandos. And I was in that group, so I had to endure him and his stupid ass decisions, but I couldn’t elect to ignore it.”
“That’s offensive,” Steve said.
“That's the point,” Bucky said.
“Ok so Steve is Snow White.” Tony declared, making a line between Snow White and Steve on the whiteboard. “NEXTT!”
“Me,” said the super secret Russian spy.
“Hmm..” you thought.
“Megara,” said Clint.
“Oh that's a good one,” Sam agreed.
“Who is Megara?” Steve asked.
“She is an attractive Greek lady that Hercules, the son of Zeus, who is the King of the Greek Gods, falls in love with.” Thor explained.
“Thor, how do you of all people know that?” Shuri asked. “Shouldn’t Vision know all of these things?”
“M’lady, I am formally educated in Disney movies by the request of Peter Parker, also known as ‘The One and Only Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman’.” Thor explained.
“Kid, you make Thor, the God of Thunder, sit through Sleeping Beauty?” Tony asked, shocked.
“My dear man of Iron, Sleeping beauty was quite relaxing. That Prince Philip, that amazing man, demonstrated quite intellectually advanced ways to use a sword. Ways that I can use Storm-breaker effectively in battle.” Thor smiled.
Tony and Sam shared a look of disgust with a combination of interest and concern.
“Thor, I don’t think you can learn fighting tactics from a cart-” Vision started.
“I need to watch the movies again,” Clint and Bucky muttered under their breaths.
“No she should be Mulan,” Wanda said. “Mulan is determined and strong. Megara just messed with the God of Death.”
“I mess with death all the time,” Natasha countered.
“I should be Megara.” Bucky stated.
“Because you almost died?” Steve asked.
“Because your soul is dark and empty?” Sam asked.
“Yes and no. My hair is long, not as long as her’s but I can make it work. Hair extensions. She plays with Hercules’ emotions. She is also strong and independent. Like me.” Bucky explained.
“That settles it. Bucky is Megara and Natasha is Mulan.” Tony said, making lines between the two avengers and their princesses.
“nEXXttT!” Tony shouted.
“Me me me!” Wanda said happily.
“Yes Mr. Stark I would like to go as well.” Vision added.
“Wanda would make the perfect Moana.” Thor said. “Moana and Wanda both demonstrate very strong emotions, which affect their abilities regarding their powers and limits and they care deeply about the people that mean the most to them.”
He nudged Loki in the shoulder to try to get him more involved in the meeting. Loki was just throwing his knives up in the air, and Peter was getting very interested, and getting dangerously close to the God of Mischief. Tony was eyeing the two of them very, very carefully.
“Yeah, yeah sure,” Loki sighed, just going along with Thor or the sake of it.
“Who would Vision be then?” Sam asked.
“He could be the dead grandma,” Clint suggested.
“Yeah, that one that turned into the manta ray.” Nat agreed.
“It’s settled. Moana and Dead Grandma Ray.” Tony said, making the lines once again. He had to add “dead grandma” to the board for Vision’s sake.
“NeXXXXXtttT!!” he shrieked.
“Tony, you should be Belle,” Natasha said.
“Yeah. I mean, they both fall in love and save the people that mean the most to them, even if it means putting their own life at risk.” Steve agreed.
“And they are both really smart.” Peter added.
“Peter, you just had to say that and I would have been on board. Now I had to listen to Steve and Natasha for a minute.” Tony groaned as he drew a line between his name and Belle’s.
“Thanks Tony,” Steve said sarcastically.
“Your welcome, Capsicle.” Tony gleamed back.
“Sam should be Cinderella.” Bucky said.
“OMG that works!!” Shuri exclaimed.
“Yeah..” Sam realized. “I’m Cinderella ‘cause she broke, homie.”
“Yeah,” Steve said, smiling from ear to ear, looking back at Sam.
“She represent me, yooo,” Sam said. Then he looked over at Steve and said, “Lemme borrow twenty dollas.”
By this point, Steve couldn’t hold in the laughter and almost fell out of his chair. And Sam, being as he called it “Steve’s best friend, better than Bucky,” saved Steve from collapsing on to the floor.
“Steve is the cinder princess. Deal with it.” Tony declared, adding another line.
“NeeXXttTTT!” Tony screamed.
“Now, all that’s left is Peter and Y/N,” Wanda said, eyeing you two.
“Peter should be Rapunzel. Before they face the real world, they are both innocent, but then when they see what the world is really like, it changes them.” Thor said, analyzing the similarities between the princess and the superhero.
“Jesus Christ, why is Point break actually really on point?” Tony asked.
“My dear Stalk of corn, I am educated like I told you earlier. Insect man has really helped me tap into my inner child and all of the pain my demon brother made me endure.” Thor said.
“Spiderman,” Peter mumbled.
“I take that as a complement.” Loki stated, out of the blue.
“Rapunzel is Parker.” Tony declared.
“Last but not least, Y/N.” Steve said.
Now, it took everyone a while to come up with a princess for you. You didn’t fit the exact mold or looks of a certain princess, so it was definitely harder.
“What about Alice?” Sam said/
“Why the fuck would she be Alice?” Bucky asked.
“Because Alice in Wonderland is supposed to portray the effects of drugs.” Sam explained.
“So your saying that I act like a drug addict?” you asked.
“NO!” Sam shouted.
“Sam, drop it before you dig your own grave.” Steve said.
“What about Jasmine?” offered Wanda. “You have a very free spirit like her, and she’s your favorite princess.”
“Yeah sure, that sounds fine.” you agreed.
“Y/N is Jasmine! dOOONNEe!” Tony shouted with relief.
“WAIT I CHANGED MY MIND!” Shuri shrieked. “I WANNA BE A PRINCESS. I WANNA BE TIANA SHE IS AN ABSOLUTE BADASS!”
“FINE!” Tony shouted back. “NOW WE ARE DONE. EVERYONE HAPPY?”
Everyone in the room, not wanting to disagree with a hot-headed Tony, looked around at each other and slowly nodded their heads.
“Great!” Tony smiled, a complete change in moods. “Tomorrow we are going to Party City to get our costumes. Everyone in this room has to come so we can get the wigs and dresses and makeup. No skipping out. That includes you Clint, Bucky and Loki.”
The three men who were called out rolled their heads and sighed. But they agreed to go. To Tony’s happiness.
“Great. Meeting finished. Pepper wants me for something. Probably for the party. Nobody try to call me or you will be met with an ear rape of AC/DC.” Tony said, putting on his glasses and promptly leaving the room in Stark fashion. Everyone eventually left the room, you being lost in your thoughts.
“You coming, doll?” Bucky asked, seeing you were still sitting in the room.
“Ya, I’ll be out in a second.” you said.
“Alright, you, me and Clint are doing a Disney marathon for fighting tactics. Don’t be late or you because we are gonna eat all the food. I don’t wanna hear you complain.” Bucky said, walking out the door with a lazy drag of his legs.
Now, relief filled your body. Now you wouldn’t have to hear arguing about costumes! And they actually agreed to costumes, shockingly. Now you just couldn’t wait to go to Party City and endure all the chaos. And then, you left the room to watch Disney movies again, for fighting tactics.
Oh, the chaos that awaits.

(Vol. VI)
It was a love story, from the very beginning.
(4x16/4x20/4x21/4x22)
Prelude to The fall
Hi again!! And now we are here, in the last volumes from season 4.
I'm gonna talk in this one about the foreshadow to the fall, and I will extend Castiel's fall to next and last volume too.
I want to mention my friend @agusvedder , she made the gifs specially for this metas and discuss with me the Destiel scenes. Thanks a lot girl! 😘💕
Ok, without any other addition, let's start with the analysis.
Dean... I can't...
Cas was observed by his superiors, they watched every step or word he said to Dean. Even so... When Dean was praying for help, Cas went to see him immediately.
The answer to Dean's prayers was immediate. Dean had sounded desperate, and Castiel couldn't reject go to see him. (My heart...)
Dean asked CAS to help him, but Castiel had his orders... He already had lost his position for getting too close to this man, and now... Now he was desperately asking him for help...
CASTIEL: I'm not sure what I can do.
DEAN: Drag Sam out of here, now. Before Lilith shows up.
CASTIEL: It's a prophecy. I can't interfere.
DEAN: Why? 'Cause it's "divine prophecy"?
CASTIEL Yes.
DEAN So, what – We're just supposed to sit around and, and wait for it to happen?
CASTIEL I'm sorry.
Let's just stop in this scene... I want you to see Dean's face in the gif... He's desperate, and he's trying hard to convince Castiel, to drag him into his circle, but Cas had Heaven breathing on his neck ... He wanted to help him.. but he couldn't.
And I put in red those words because this scene, my friends, is a huge parallel of the fall, the scene in the green room in 4x22. Even CAS is saying I'M SORRY AS HE WILL SAY I'M SORRY TOO IN THAT SCENE. How this scene ended? Well after Dean getting mad at him ...
Dean passes by Castiel, but look at Castiel's sad face... He doesn't want Dean get mad at him... He really wants to help him, so... He decided a strategy to "HELPING DEAN INDIRECTLY" by giving him some important information about Archangels protecting Prophets...
Castiel looks up, at Heaven...he knows this will cost him a lot... And it will as we will see in "The Rapture" (in volume V). But after looking up at Heaven, he fixes his eyes with Dean's... He needed to know if Dean had get the message... And he did...
Castiel even greeted him with a good luck. He's playing with fire here...
So yes! Huge foreshadow here my friends... The good thing is Castiel finished helping Dean... As it will occur in 4x22.
Second time Dean prays...
In the episode 4x21, after Castiel received his punishment in Heaven and was brainwashed, Dean prays again desperate, bc Sam was locked trying to get rid from demon blood. That was very hard for Dean, and he was suffering horribly for his brother. He needed help. But this time Castiel attended the call... Two and a half hours later.
Look at Dean's face, he is in pain, and he looks at a side because he isn't just in pain bc his brother is locked and fighting against that demon blood, but because the only help he could ask for didn't came, Castiel didn't came in Dean's desperately prayer. And his face is screaming, with a little tiny of shame, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME? CAN'T YOU SEE I'M SUFFERING BC MY BROTHER AND YOU MADE ME WAIT HERE SCREAMING FOR YOUR HELP? WHY?
Dean is hurt because Castiel made him wait two and a half hours knowing he was in pain.
He maybe recalled that time in the motel, when CAS answered his prayers right away, and helped him with Sam... And now...
CASTIEL: What do you want?
DEAN: You can start with what the hell happened in Illinois.
CASTIEL: What do you mean?
DEAN: Cut the crap. You were gonna tell me something.
CASTIEL: Well, nothing of import.
Cas is marking Dean here that Heaven is watching. They are listening, look at his face, he knows Dean pushing so hard can make him break, he wants to help, but he can't, he was brainwashed, but that crack is still there, that crack connects him with this man, his weakness.
Dean looks at him, when he said I CAN'T. Maybe he get the message there. They are not alone. But even so, he insists .
CASTIEL: Get to the reason you really called me. It's about Sam, right?
DEAN: Can he do it? Kill Lilith, stop the apocalypse?
CASTIEL: Possibly, yes. But as you know, he'd have to take certain steps.
DEAN: Crank up the hell-blood regimen.
CASTIEL: Consuming the amount of blood it would take to kill Lilith would change your brother forever. Most likely, he would become the next creature that you would feel compelled to kill. There's no reason this would have to come to pass, Dean. We believe it's you, Dean, not your brother. The only question for us is whether you're willing to accept it. Stand up and accept your role. You are the one who will stop it.
This, over there... 👆 That's Heaven manipulation. This words were bout on Castiel's mouth. He was sent by Heaven specifically to fulfill a mission... To make Dean accept to obey Heaven. They sent Castiel bc they know Dean and Cas relationship is special enough to make Dean fell for manipulation.
And he fell for it ... Castiel is listening, he knows Sammy is Dean's limit. And he just used him, as Heaven asked him to do it. And he is hating himself for that for sure...
CASTIEL: If it gives you comfort to see it that way.
DEAN: God, you're a dick these days.
Dean is disappointed with him, this isn't the Castiel he knew, the Cas that helps him, the Cas that sat by his bed in the hospital, watching him cry, and telling him the whole truth he has. Or the Cas that confessed him in that park that he had doubts and he wasn't a hammer. Yes ... He is just like any other angel now.
So... To the Hell with everything, Dean accepts the offer, he was really desperate. Castiel had fulfilled his mission...
Castiel's incongruent behavior
... or part of it. Sometimes I felt he was on a test by Heaven, they should ask Castiel for his loyalty, and they sent him to do three things he wasn't agreed. He maybe wanted to answer Dean's prayers right away, but Heaven should said to him: NOT YET CASTIEL, LET HIM WAIT. LET HIM BE MORE DESPERATE, WE NEED HIM MORE DESPERATE.
And the second mission was to release Sam. You can see the scene and the expression in Castiel's face is eloquent. He is suffering by doing things he is against it, he had his doubts still there... Why he has those doubts after the procedure of brainwashing?
The third thing he had to do, is very very symbolic: He called Anna, to a trap. Angels took her to Heaven. Heaven locked Castiel's rebellious feelings and doubts. And he let that happen... But not for so long... Because he was made to be free.
To conclude:
Season 4 showed us a parallel with Dean praying for help worried about Sam, in the first one (foreshadow of Castiel's fall in the last episode) CAS answered his prayers right away and, although the big eye of Heaven over them, he ended by helping Dean.
The second time after receiving Heaven's punishment for give information and be too close to that human, he didn't answer right away, maybe by Heaven's order to make Dean accept obedience to Heaven.
Castiel was doing the three missions with doubts and pain. Things that will lead him to the fall.
His hear and his actions were totally disconnected.

pl ea se info dump about your ocs
oh boy ok you,,, don’t want this but u already asked and it’s too late to go back so im just gonna start talking
ok so i have like 2 separate oc worlds and 3 seperate groups of ocs within those (these are just the main ones, there’s ones i don’t think abt anymore and ones i’ve abandoned and fan characters and stuff but if i went over all of that i’d be here all day so i’ll just stick with these)
so the first world is just our world, modern day, but with magic. there’s this one town, barnsley, georgia, that’s cut off from the rest of the world. most ppl drive by without ever noticing it, and if someone tries to go in who’s not wanted the town will disappear or try to kill them or just do something to keep them out. it’s a vaguely sentient town. in barnsley there’s a big forest and no one’s ever gone in and come out the other side. there’s ambiguous danger in the forest, mostly faeries who will make you fall in love with them and then kill you and harvest your bones and stuff.
so there’s like 4-6 characters depending on where we’re looking at in terms of what storyline i’m following (this is the one that i did nanowrimo for three (3) times and have over 100,000 words of thrown out content for and obsess over constantly so it has the most solid plot and there’s a lot of it) so anyways i’ll just go over all 6 and try to make it as simple as possible without talking about converging storylines and alternate drafts and stuff
ok! so! vi larson-park is the daughter of one of barnsley’s 3 great magicians! her mom could do all sorts of crazy magic and i can’t get into the parents’ backstory here bc they have a whole OTHER story and that’s just. too much (maybe i’ll do that later? we’ll see) so yeah her mom did magic and also made some bad deals and stole some stuff from the woods and indirectly caused some ppls deaths but it’s like fine probably. so vi grew up with her mom, natalie, her mom’s witch girlfriend, erica, and erica’s twin brother, simon (who i’ll get into later and also who doesn’t exist in half the scrapped drafts) in this big empty DEFINITELY HAUNTED house on the edge of town where erica grew up and they were good and happy. then like a year ago natalie was killed by nick, who i’ll also get into later, and that’s kinda the end of her story, vi and erica are obviously devastated and they have a funeral and vi starts having the occasional odd dream here and there, but things go back to normal after awhile. vi has absolutely no aptitude for magic, and because of that she often feels alienated by erica and simon who are VERY magical and always talking about things she doesn’t understand. she’s fiercely loyal and protective and not really scared of anything. she’s always wanted to know what’s in the woods but knows better than to go looking
tyler is vi’s best friend and also 50% whole entire Not Human. he either came from the woods or was found outside a random gas station in like arizona or something depending on which draft i’m going by, but either way he was found around two years ago and has been clinging to vi ever since. his backstory is a big unknown to the human characters and no one really knows anything about him. he’s a faerie prince, the son of the erlking, who’s sort of the ambiguous villain of the story but i’ll get into him later. he has 3 brothers, sorrel, dain, and kell. sorrel is the oldest and known as the winter prince, then there’s kell for spring, dain for summer, and tyler himself for autumn. (btw his name isn’t actually tyler technically it’s robin but i'm not gonna get into that rn.) sorrel is cool and collected and stone cold bitch, and all he wants is to be king so he roped tyler into helping him try and kill their dad, which failed, so then he lost his position in the royal court and now he’s doing tons of morally gray stuff in an attempt to get back in his dad’s favor so he can kill him for real this time. dain and kell are sort of nothing at all and you don’t need to know anything except dain is really mean and violent and kell is an ally(?). after the whole failed killing debacle tyler ran away to barnsley in hopes that he could find something in common with the humans, since he’d been a faerie all his life and couldn’t stand it. he’s quiet and doesn’t like doing or saying things unless he absolutely has to, is generally unhelpful unless something benefits him, scared of being alone, hates being indoors, runs around barefoot and only eats food from the woods. he’s kinda like an outdoor cat.
nick and marcus jacobs are brothers and general hooligans. nick is the older one (he’s 19) and marcus is 15 and they grew up in barnsley for the first 14 years of marcus’ life until marcus accidentally killed their dad and they left town. which the dad killing subplot is really a lot to get into but basically their dad was the second magician, along with vi’s mom, except the effects of magic on a person can kinda drive a person insane and the others managed to keep it together but he slowly went crazy until he was paranoid and in pain all the time and ended up taking a lot of it out on his sons which ended in him threatening marcus and marcus in an act of self defense unleashing raw magic power he didn’t know he had and accidentally killing him and also taking out all the power in the entire town and causing a minor earthquake. it was a Big Deal. so yeah they buried their dad in the backyard and skipped town. after their dad died all his magic went down to nick so nick has newfound power (marcus btw has never been able to use magic since then and has no idea how he did it) but he also has voices in his head and weird dreams, and with all the voices yelling at him all the time he realizes that the only way to get rid of them is to get rid of the magicians. his dad did some magic bullshit that made him the vessel for the magic once he died but the other magicians didn’t so he doesn’t have to kill anyone besides them and it makes sense bc i say it does shut up. so for like a year they drive around aimlessly, meet with and kill vi’s mom, meet with and kill aidan’s dad (i’ll get to aidan once i’m done here), pick up a hitchhiker depending on which version of the story i’m telling, then go back home where they’re not really welcome anymore but that won’t stop them. nick is cold and mean and. y’know. a murderer, but he also loves marcus greatly and gets attached to people more easily than he would like to admit. he’s sort of closed himself off and resigned himself to killing “for the greater good”, but it’s hard for him, and there’s definitely people he wouldn’t kill. he fully planned to, once he got rid of the magicians, never kill again, and he keeps that promise. marcus is soft spoken and anxiety ridden and a bit of a crybaby and he hates death and doesn’t fully trust nick and doesn’t trust himself either. on the outside he appears bitter and angry constantly.
aidan mulligan is a HOOLIGAN! a whole entire rowdy boy! he’s also the son of the third magician and marcus’ ex(?) boyfriend? more like boyfriend on standby. it’s complicated. there’s nothing special to him, he’s rowdy bc his parents never gave him enough attention so he runs around with people he doesn’t really like and is always getting into trouble. his favorite activities are skipping church and running the local cryptid watch am radio station, which no one listens to and which he used to run with marcus. he misses marcus dearly and keeps waiting for him to come back. he’s loud and talkative and his mood changes drastically but is always on the highest setting. he’s either screaming-and-throwing-things angry or unable to shut up and bouncing all over the place. not to pick favorites but he’s my favorite i really love him. his life moto is “fuck you dad” basically. oh yeah nick killed his dad and stuff and it’s hit him hard but he’s not as torn up by it as he probably should be, which he feels terrible about. his mom lives on the other side of the country and doesn’t currently know his dad is dead, which isn’t really something you’re supposed to keep secret generally but the mulligan family said fuck the rules. he has two brothers, connor and seamus (connor older, seamus younger) and loves both of them though he would never admit it.
simon diederich is the secret special bonus magician!! also i think i gotta talk abt parent backstory for him so,,,, here goes: basically, simon and vi’s mom and marcus and aidan’s dads all stole magic from the forest in a way that doesn’t super make sense but it’s my story i can do what i want. and in the process simon died and they had to leave him behind in the woods, but then since the magic in the forest was weak it couldn’t continue being formless or else it would turn into nothing since so much of it had been damaged by the humans or w/e. so it took simon’s body as a vessel and resurrected him with all his old memories but also 100% more magic power. so he took that power and went back home and has been just straight chillin, unaging, for 30-ish years. he got like. immense wisdom when he was resurrected and is also possessed by a sentient forest so he does what the forest wants which is protect the town and fistfight anyone he doesn’t like. he’s obnoxious and immature and thinks he’s hot shit and loves these trees more than he loves other people probably
bonus character: lila is the ghost who lives in vi’s attic. she’s like 7. i love her

next, still in the same universe, are the residents of greywell, washington. greywell is what’s on the other side of those woods no one can cross in barnsley. how does that work? magic obviously. greywell is a lot like barnsley but more sinister, it’s a lot newer so the characters aren’t as fleshed out (with one exception) and there’s really only 3 i actually care abt so this ones gonna be a lot shorter. i’ve thought abt plot but nothing solid so there’s some...stuff but mostly this one will be short
zoe hammond: amateur teen witch who’s also cursed. she has an eye on her left hand which is always watching her and she wants off desperately. u know how i said in some versions of the story nick and marcus pick up a hitchiker? that’s her, going to barnsley bc she knows its magic and hopes someone there will know how to fix her. she respects authority and stays in line for the most part, but she also takes shit from no one. she’ll talk to nearly anyone but doesn’t particularly like anyone in town, also she sells witch shit out of the trunk of her car in the school parking lot
wesley: short rowdy trans boy with absolutely no self control who’s stoned all the time and does crazy things for the adrenaline rush and doesn’t bind safely and falls in love with every boy he meets. he skateboards bc of course he does. he’s always ready to fight and punches ppl a lot but usually ends up losing fights bc he’s tiny. i love him
noa: ok this dude went into the woods one (1) time and now there’s this magic glove stuck on their hand? and a ghost in their phone?? and they’re literally so confused and they’ve never had any friends in their entire life but all of a sudden that weird lesbian witch and her crazy skateboarder friend are talking to them all the time and they died? except they woke back up like nothing had happened even though their head basically blew up? and there’s like faeries and stuff coming after them because they want the glove and they can’t get the stupid thing off their hand and they have no idea what’s going on noa is an absolute nervous wreck who’s really fun to draw and they have no idea what’s happening to them and tbh i don’t rly know what i’m doing either but i’m having a good time

this is a completely separate world, it’s like this 1910s era fictional city with magic and shit. the magic system is kinda complicated but basically there’s elemental magicians who are heavily tied to religion, they’re believed to be sacred and god sent by p much every organized religion. they do elements, it’s pretty simple. then there’s blood magicians who can basically transmute but they have to use their own blood to do it. anyone can learn to be a blood magician but most ppl don’t want to bc. blood ow. blood magicians are an ABOMINATION AGAINST GOD and there’s a stigma against them in religious communities so they tend to populate big cities and less religious places. there’s also healers who are born like elementals and can’t be trained, they’re isolated from both schools of magic bc unlike elementals they’re not pure (well, depending on which religion you ask) and unlike blood magicians they’re not common. born magicians are born with pure black eyes (irises? the colored part. not just all black) that differentiate them from nonmagic ppl. there’s also super intense mary sue magicians who r rare and born with red eyes (i started this world when i was 13 don’t judge me bitch) and they can shapeshift kinda? but in cool ways, it’s not just shapeshifting they could also make their skin tough or nails pointy or w/e. one of them specifically likes to harden his own blood in weapons it’s kinda metal. anyways here’s the character profiles from the google doc pasted in word for word

So basically there's these 2 gangs, run by this woman Lyra Frey and this dude Lucas Sweeney, and they Do Not Like Each Other At All. Neither of them are good bc yknow...gangs….but lyra’s is like...better anyways here's characters
Lyra's dudes:
Emil Finch: 21, any and all pronouns, ace, lyra’s right hand man/ veteran of a bloody civil war (TECHNICALLY a war criminal but yknow…it's whatever). Likes cats and Arya, dislikes cigarettes and being short. Their birth name is Emilee, which they shortened to their liking when they moved to The Big City, and they used their father's name (Finn O'Malley) to join the war. They're a healer magician but ssshhh don't tell anyone. They used their powers to hurt people when they were in The War and now don't trust themselves, so they stick to traditional medicine thank you very much. (Also knives. They’re a big fan of knives.)
Arya Frey: 21, she/her, Lyra’s adopted daughter and mechanic. She has METAL LEGS and has to walk with a cane so she doesn't go outside much, mostly makes machines and strategizes for her mom. Likes drawing, Emil, making things/taking them apart, dislikes cold weather (it makes her joints hurt), magic, Drunk Emil. She has two cats named vriska and karkat. Everyone is suspicious of these names even though it's like 1910 and an alternate universe and homestuck doesn't exist.
Jaz Anaheim: 18, he/him, big gay disaster, a pickpocket who came to the Big City with his brother when he was 16 to work and send money to his mom, stole from a kingpin, joined a gang, watched his brother die in front of him, and lied to his mom for 2 years about his job and his brothers aliveness while he sent her blood money. He's a humble farm boy, no magic, tall and uncoordinated, basically all he can do is steal and flirt badly and he's very aware. Also where he came from magicians were rare because they were all drafted for the war so when he sees magic he's way too impressed. Likes loud music, people being interested in him, his family (just his mom now :’)), his hometown, dislikes the city, feeling disliked, himself, swimming
Sweeney’s band of assholes:
Elliott Sweeney: 24, he/him, Sweeney’s son and certified dad hater. He's a blood magician which are common and not that impressive but he’s good at what he does bc he did nothing but practice for like 6 years. His dad basically controls him and makes him work for him because he's useful. He resents his dad with every ounce of his being but doesn't have the spine to do anything about it. After accidentally burning down part of their house and killing his mom his dad sent him away to the summer house in the country, where he lived for the past 6 years, obediently doing his dad’s bidding and learning how to control his magic until he got fed up and burned that house down (on purpose this time), making his dad move him back to the family house in the city so that he could keep an eye on him. he’s one of those badass mega magicians who does blood swords and stuff, he’s also spent so much time reading that he knows a lot about magic theory. Quiet, reserved, extremely petty, but shows a sense of humor around his sister. Never really knew Alise growing up so he’s more of a cool uncle than a brother. Likes his sister, learning things, astronomy, dislikes his dad, Emil, doing magic, fighting, feeling trapped
Alise Sweeney: 14, she/her, her dad named her Alise with an S because he's just that much of an asshole. She's a self trained blood magician and good at what she does. She hates her dad almost as much as Elliott does but she's also not a fucking baby about it. Is DEFINITELY planning on killing him at some point. Was raised to make jokes and do crime and her brother said if she does crime she's grounded. Has never been serious about anything ever, and probably has a screw loose. Has killed people. Is basically a tiny fighting machine. Her dad was rough on her growing up. Likes picking fights, Elliott and Atticus, pissing off her dad, causing trouble. Dislikes her dad, people stronger than her, tense situations, being alone
Atticus Grey: 16, he/him, not Sweeney’s son but hates him enough that he probably could be (in case you were noticing a theme here, sweeney is kinda unlikeable). His mom left soon after he was born and his dad ran up a huge debt and ended up working for Sweeney to pay it off, then died in a gang fight before he could get through it. Sweeney, the merciless motherfucker that he is, decided that Atticus would finish paying it off, and snatched him up as soon as he was 13. His dad used to hang out with Emil’s and so they ended up taking care of parentless Atticus (along with (extremely reluctant) Arya. Atticus is really close with Lyra’s entire crew because he's spent so much time around them. He's a fire magician who knows a bit of blood magic but barely uses it, and he's an angsty bitch. Likes Emil, being alone, dislikes everything else.
oh yeah then there’s those bitches in charge:
Lyra Frey is a [REDACTED] year old woman from [REDACTED] who moved to the city while fleeing from [REDACTED]. She was in the civil war briefly, fighting for the [REDACTED] side. Her real name is not Lyra, but is actually [REDACTED]. She loves Arya more than anything else probably. Sees Jaz as an unofficial son, is skeptical of Atticus, likes Emil but doesn’t trust them.
Lucas Sweeney is one of those rich bastards who also does crime on the side. He’s a politician but everyone and their mother knows he’s an absolute crime lord on the side. Has arguably more power than Lyra but has no idea how to use it, plus Alise has already recruited like half his employees into joining her uprising. He’s a selfish man and a terrible dad. No one likes him.

Episode #4: “I am definitely sobbing 24/7” -Gavin
-okay so dan left eight to one a real... how you say... zzz. and then birch activates the earthquake and gives us... the best swap... ever...? i say us i mean ME so anyway the swap gives me... my alliance members of vi/collin/ruthie which YES. we already are half the tribe eat it UP. then i have cindi who im close to, who im also in a second game with rn. which BAM, and also... og tribe majority mmmmm delicious. THEN from the other tribe i get. BODHI who im also close to outside of this, and am also in another game with rn (where im about to vote to keep him in so woo we love building trust...?). then i have rachael who is a sweetheart and TIMMY. ONE OF MY OLDEST ORG FRIENDS HELLOOO. this swap is kind of... too... good? all the people i'd wanna vote out are on the other tribe so the MO rn is to just sweep challenges ideally? thats the agenda. because rn the ones i want gone are birch/keegan/zachary/gavin... all of whom are on the other tribe. so we better get to winning even tho it might be bad for austin/jay if we do (but maybe timmy would go first idek)
-okay so... we just won jeopardy? that challenge truly had me weighing up and considering literally fighting a child because that zach is half child prodigy, half robot he was literally bodying the challenges... BUT THEN WE WON ASFJDKSAL. we literally just went for broke on the final jeopardy and it came THROUGH. im so so happy because i want all of my swap tribe at merge, they are all people i want to stick around so even one tribal would be a disaster. i think timmy might unfortunately be screwed just because jay/austin are really connected. also the annie tribe is probably gonna lose... another og tribe member. but HONESTLY what can you do. this is good for my longterm survival anyway hopefully they turn inwards and get rid of one of OG Jack even though its probably unlikely KJFLSAD.
-well, to start out, i am sorry this is later than anticipated. however, what matters is that i am doing it now... right? ANYWAYS... onto the confessional. i think the main thing i want to talk about this round, is the brilliant move i orchestrated during that challenge that gave us the win... and the fact that i got NO CREDIT FOR IT. OKAY Y'ALL... I SEE YOU. but anyways, i think it is clear that i am basically a mastermind. however, what really matters is that we won... so GO TEAM (me)! following the challenge this round i was added into an alliance chat planned by keegan and zach with rachael and myself. so, when jess wasn't included, i obviously had to go talk to her and subtly expose that alliance... and funnily enough, keegan added jess to alliance with birch! FUNNY. so, we basically figured out that keegan is trying to play everyone and anyone he can--which will definitely be useful information going forward. overall this round, i think i really strengthened some key bonds with birch and rachael specifically. i was on call with rachael for 5 hours straight and talked about personal things with birch for about an hour. so, i honestly feel pretty good going forward. and on the bright-side, if things start to look like they're going south, i always have that idol in my back pocket. until next time... xoxo, gossip girl.

(jk, i am definitely sobbing 24/7). but on the bright side, i at least have jess with me. unfortunately due to zachs poor math skills, we lost the challenge that should have been an easy win for us given our lead going into the final jeopardy... but gavin is not bitter. so, unfortunately, we have to go to tribal with a brand new tribe. on the bright side, it seems to be looking in OG jack’s favor numbers wise, so i don’t particularly feel like i am in danger. however, you never know what could happen at tribal council. so, if worse comes to worse, i will have my idol ready to play—but i am hoping it doesn’t come to that. it appears as though austin or jay will be leaving—which is perfectly fine with me (even if i want keegan to go sooner rather than later, it’s best not to make any unnecessary waves right now. so i will continue to let him become a bigger target and try to take charge and snake as he does... and we will go from there.

So I forced a swap. yay! I also exiled myself, mainly to keep myself safe cause fuck getting voted out, Am I right? So I don't really have anything to report on. uhhhh, yeah. Go everyone!!

-So a swap happened so that's fun.... I can't even lie I have swap PTSD from my last Survivor. I was swapped into the minority, rocked myself out with an idol for a souvenir. THAT BEING SAID... This swap worked out for me! I think? At least for now? If I didn't have Gavin with me I'd be extremely worried but because I do believe he has an "in" with the bro's Keegan/Zach aka: a duo... I'll at least know if they are up to some shady shit. I also got Chips! SO PARTY. I'm really thankful we got a swap because I don't know if I would have survived a couple of votes on my previous tribe. I wasn't necessarily "in" with people. So a swap was welcomed but I was also scared shitless. This swap has really opened the door for me/Zach? I don't trust him the slightest BUT at least we have some sort of dialogue right now compared to the crickets we were exchanging on OG JACK. This swap also broke up the "alliance" of Zach, Rachael, Keegan...and Gavin. So now they'll need to find a replacement Rachael and I know I'm not as pretty as Rachael but maybe I'll fill the female quota in that alliance? Chips has opened up a LOT to me so far. We've exchanged idol searches but he feels on the bottom of that "alliance" and I don't blame him. I just don't know where we go from here after this vote. He flips? to Jay? Maybe a Jay/Chips/Keegan/Zach majority? He wants me to flip to a Chips/Jay/Timmy/Majority? I have no idea. We also get Birch next round! I do enjoy Birch so much but that's a number for Keegan and that makes me un-easy. Keegan is easily my biggest threat so far. Next round could potentially be a 6.vs. 2 majority and it can't be THAT simple. I'm going to focus on winning... I guess? I'm really enjoying Timmy so far even though he's given me a few red flags or I'm being lied to hardcore. Austin told me he had a vote reveal however, why would Timmy tell someone who he has said "treated him badly" about a power? So either Timmy is playing me or Austin is playing me. Either way they both can go?! Timmy gives me such weird vibes. I want to trust him but I also think he's going to be a super cut-throat player down the line and that SCARES ME.
Ok.....with the swap that happened and us losing immunity I really feel my game is over. Which really sucks bc i wanna work with ppl like keegan jess jay chips and zach but I dont feel most of those ppl wanna work with me. I'm not gonna give up tho . I'm gonna try talking and making deals and doing what I can to save myself. It's not over til tribal and I have plenty of time. Pleaseeeee atomic gods let me make it through this one vote
Me never remember what my last confessional was about? The title of my autobiography. So, we swapped which is super unfortunate but the tribe I got swapped into has a majority OG Jack members. JESS, ZACH, GAVIN, CHIPS and myself against JAY, TIMMY Z and AUSTIN. And then we lose the challenge because math is apparently impossible? Like ZACH either threw the challenge on purpose or he’s just the worst person at math. Either way, we’re going to tribal tonight. The current plan is to stay tribe strong and vote out an OG Annie which is fine by me. JAY is saying he wants to work with me because we’re both previous winners which is a good point. But I’ve got some solid alliances already and I don’t want to mess those up this early into the game. As far as I can tell right now, the plan is to split votes between JAY and AUSTIN with AUSTIN being the primary target since he’s pretty bad at challenges and isn’t likely to work with us down the line. TIMMY apparently spilled the beans about a six person alliance that didn’t include himself or CINDI, so we’re trying to keep him safe and pull him in as a number for the future. Who knows what will happen though. There’s idols to worry about which is why we’re trying to split the vote.
This tribe swap makes me so happy because I vibe with these people so much better and it gives me a new chance in this game to fix my activity level. On top of that, we are safe!!! Another round of not having to go to tribal is a good round for me. Who knows why the Annie tribe only wagered $3,000 because that made absolutely no sense but I’m not complaining. Overall, A+ round!
So this round, i find myself swapped into a tribe of people that are so much better then my old tribe. I was on the outs of that 6 person alliance and I am sure I would have been the next to go for sure. I get a really good vibe off of zach and jess, plus gavin and keegan are cool too. Not to sure about Chips but I have to put my trust in these people for the mean time. As for the challenge, we lost and i knew I was going to vote with the old Jack tribe. We plan on splitting the votes 3 vs 3 with austin and jay voting whoever. Of course in true them style, the moment they found out it was them, they threw me under the bus immediately. Hopefully everything goes as planned tonight and Austin goes home, if not it is going to be me. I have had good convos with people tho and hope that can get me through this tribe.
Well this swap completely sucks. In the complete minority, someone sold out the alliance to Timmy so I doubt he trusts me anymore. I just tried to be honest with him so he'd see me in a better light and I hope it worked. Beyond that, we lost the challenge and I think my head is on the chopping block. Earlier today Chips came and told me that he's pretty sure the votes are coming down on me and they're gonna tell me Austin to fake me out. And you know, that's probably true because Zach, Keegan, and Gavin have all told me it's Austin. What troubles me is that Chips doesn't seem to have a plan otherwise even though it seems like he wants to do something else. So once Zach told me it's Austin, I had more of a chat with him. He really seems to not want me to go anywhere, which is hard not to believe. Either he's telling me the truth or he's a fantastic liar. Same with Keegan, even though I think it's in both of our best interests to work together going forward. At this point it's clear that it's gonna split between Austin and myself so i worry if I don't vote Austin then I'm just automatically out. Shits really hard in the game right now and all I want is to survive another day.

I am finally not at the bottom. My original tribe has minority and I have prior existing relationships with 2/3 of the og Jack tribe. Plus I have bodhi, whom I absolutely love, on my tribe. I am happy.

Session 24
Capridi wakes up and looks around "How are we not out of this corn hell yet?"
Pepper rubs her eyes. "I didn't think you could get seasick watching grass go by."
Edith Runekill gets out of the car, stretching her legs. She's wearing one of her plainer dresses, and no make-up. But she's still wearing her wizard hat.
Edith Runekill: "You get used to it."
Capridi: "I don't want to"
Grim unfolds from the car and gets out to stretch. She eyes the infinite plains.
Pepper: "Please don't leave us in the corn."
Edith Runekill peers up at the farm house, anxiously.
Sydney Gaydos: "Certainly not one of the most, ah, colorful pieces of scenery we've had to drive past."
Edith Runekill starts trudging towards the door, when suddenly a dog starts barking excitedly.
Pepper suddenly feels conspicuous in her robin's egg blue vest. She magics the color down to what could be described as "dishwater".
Malkas Steele: Still in the car.
In this session, we get acquainted with the Runekills.
The set-up: We're at the Runekill farmstead at last! This is a longer update than some of the others, so bear with it. It's worth it.
The Game: After days of driving through field after field of corn, we've made it to Edith's childhood home. Everyone is sick of the car and desperate to stretch their legs except Mal who's sick and desperate for more understandable reasons.
The group is then greeted warmly by... the family dog.
Nora R.: A farm dog of indeterminate breed and generous disposition comes bounding up to the party. It hops onto Edith and starts licking her face.
Capridi doesnt like dogs
Capridi stays in the car with pepper
Edith Runekill: "Oh! Hey, Leif!" Edith starts smiling for the first time in days. She scratches the dog behind its ear. "Who's a good boy?"
Grim looks around at the dog. finally something she can relate to.
Nora R.: The dog sniffs at the rest of the group curiously, but he comes to realize that they are shaped and smell like Friends.
Sydney Gaydos won't be one of the ones left in the car! Plus there's a DOG. She gets out to follow behind Edith and TO SEE THE DOG WITH A HUGE GRIN.
Grim sets a cigarette in her mouth, then crouches to say hi to Dog
Pepper squints at the dog. She's used to smaller.
Nora R.: bark bark, etc.
Malkas: "Hey, so what if you tell them I died?"
"Got carried off by a bird, like your uncle."
Pepper: "Would they take our word for it?"
Edith Runekill: "Please don't make light of our family tragedies."
Grim does something useful with a ranger skill for once in her life and non verbally asks the dog what the mood is like in the house
Capridi: "Wow, and people think I'm manipulative."
Malkas: "Sorry."
Edith Runekill: "Look, it's gonna be fine. I told them you're coming and they said it's okay and we're just gonna eat dinner, sleep the night, and be on our way in the morning."
Malkas looks extremely unconvinced.
Edith Runekill: "And. I mean. If I told 'em you'd die. They'd ask what we were doing where people were getting killed..."
Capridi: "So I don't have to talk to anyone?"
Nora R.: The dog tells Grim, in a series of barks and assorted dog noises, that the house is busy with preparations for guests, one of whom has already arrived. He also says that his owner is very happy to see Edith again.
Grim gives the dog's ears a scratch and communicates to him silently that he is, in fact, a very good boy
Nora R.: The dog barks happily.
Grim straightens up and lights a cigarette
Grim socialised with Edith's family
It's a start! As a follow-up, the group also gets to socialize with Edith's older brother Tom. Edith asks him how it's going in the house and he shrugs before being introduced to the rest of them. He shakes Mal's hand and apologizes in advance for anything their parents might say but tries to assure him that they mean well. Mal most definitely is not assured, but says nothing. The group silently gives him moral support, but he gives no response—he's not expecting anyone to stick their neck out for him when things go south.
The group heads on in for dinner.
The farmhouse is nicely and neatly decorated with various country knick-knacks and pictures, but it all takes a backseat to Runekill—the family's ancestral greatsword engraved with runes—which hangs above the fireplace. In the parlor, a large man we assume to be Pa Runekill converses with a serious looking man in religious vestments as the group enters.
Malkas internally: Oh god they're banishing me to Hell.
Edith Runekill: "Oh... Pastor Jack. I... I didn't know you'd be here...?"
Capridi sees the pastor in the room, immediately regrets following the group in.
Edith Runekill looks very confused.
Pepper is already completely lost vis a vis Runekills.
Pastor John stands up and bows stiffly. "Reverend John Icedirge, Reformed Church of Auril." He sits back down.
Capridi doesn't make eye contact, is genuinely hoping for once that she's mistaken for livestock
Edith Runekill turns to look at Pa. "Hey Pa. Sorry to drop in on such short notice, but, well, like I said, we were headed down this way on our way to Prastuil University, and..."
Pa Runekill: "Why don't you go help your Ma and Grace with dinner in the kitchen? Got a lot of company tonight."
Edith Runekill: "Uh..."
"O... okay...?"
Capridi gets up "I'll help, c'mon edith."
Malkas looks desperately after Edith.
Pa Runekill puts up a hand. "Making guests do the cooking is bad manners. Have a seat, all of you. I'm eager to have a talk with my girl's... associates."
Edith Runekill vanishes kitchen-wards.
Capridi pretends not to hear and follows edith
Pepper watches Cap go, unsure if she ought to be jealous or not.
Pa Runekill glares after Capridi, who has flagrantly violated Hospitality Rules.
Grim glances after them, then back at Pa. She takes a seat because in certain very specific contexts she has manners.
Edith Runekill: {T Mal: hang in there, ok?}
Sydney Gaydos already on edge, this doesn't seem... the best. She sits down after Grim does at the table.
Pepper awkwardly perches on the closest thing that could be called a seat.
Malkas: {T Edith: This is how I die..}
Tom Runekill looks obviously uncomfortable at the exchange that just took place and sits down, worriedly.
Pa—whose name is Gordon, but that's neither here nor there as he is Pa—opens conversation by saying he's surprised to see Mal's stuck around as long as he has. The group comes to his defense, telling Pa that Mal is a solid and dedicated person. Pa then asks the rest of the group what their future plans are.
Pa Runekill: "Well."
"Why don't y'all tell me a little bit about yourselves while the girls are busy in the kitchen? What're you headed down to Prastuil for, anyways?"
Grim: "Miz Runekill's got some contacts down that way, going to look in on some research of theirs or somesuch. Well over my head."
Pepper watches Grim take point. What even IS Plaguewrought Land?
Pa Runekill looks at Grim, trying to place her.
Pa Runekill looks REASONABLY at ease with Grim. He gets Grim. Unlike the others, he's met people like Grim.
Pa Runekill: "How'd you end up mixed up with Edith, anyway? You don't seem like the college girl type. Since... you seem real, y'know? Like you care about real things, that matter."
Malkas , internally, passive-aggressive, "oh i guess your daughter doesnt matter bc shes all i care about"
Pastor John stares at Mal. It's a little upsetting.
Grim: "Don't know 'bout that." Grim takes a drag on her cigarette and considers for a moment. "I care about seein' right done where I can, and all these folks do too. So I guess we kinda fell into company."
"Y'all have worked the land out here a long time, so I hear?"
Malkas is used to humans giving him nasty looks for no reason. He's used to this.
Pa Runekill: "Since this land was opened up for settlement again, after the reclamation, yeah. The Runekills homesteaded on this land with the first wave of pioneers from Luskan."
Grim raises her eyebrows and nods
Pepper stares at Pastor John, for lack of anything else to do. He looks like an undertaker that got mixed up with one of his corpses.
Grim: "Miz Runekill's rightly proud've her roots. Saw the land on our way comin' in, hell of a bit of country. This been a good season?"
Pa Runekill: "Well, sayin' you're proud is one thing, puttin' in the work is something different, y'know? But yeah, we've had some good seasons. It's hard work, hard livin' sometimes. But it's a good life."
Pastor John then takes point on asking Pepper and Sydney a few questions.
Pastor John: "You two have been very quiet."
Pepper: { T Sydney: is it too late to pretend we don't speak Common }
Sydney Gaydos stiffens oh No. "That is because it would be rude to, ah, interrupt the conversation between Mr. Runekill and Grim."
Sydney Gaydos: { T Pepper: That would have been good to plan beforehand...}
Pepper grins at the Pastor with her best Elven graces.
Pepper: "Just taking in the scene, my good chum." What. "Sir." Her grin grows wider.
Pastor John smiles back. The expression does not sit naturally on his grave face.
Malkas expends an action to stop himself from openly sweating.
Pa Runekill glances at Pepper, then at the pastor. He sends a complicated series of small Plaguewrought facial tics. The pastor gracefully puts up a hand.
There's nothing suspicious about them or this group or this conversation at all.
Pa then asks the group if they've been having any trouble on the road. Grim tells him they came by the Dragon Coast and with Mal and Edith as navigators there's hardly been any trouble. A few bulletes, but otherwise a smooth trip.
Grim offers to repay the Runekill's hospitality in by way of pest control, but Pa turns her down. It's against hospitality and there aren't as many monsters in the area as other parts of the continent.
From the kitchen, Edith tries to get a feel for how the group is getting along in the parlor. Mal tries to be optimistic, but there's only so much he can do.
Edith Runekill: {T Mal: Everything going okay out there? I didn't expect to just be sent outta the room like that. Although in retrospect maybe I shoulda. I'm family, not a guest. But I left all of you holding the bag.}
Grim: "You got a charmed life out here, Mr Runekill. Glad t'know we got things worth defending."
Pa Runekill: "And folks worth defending."
Grim nods at that and puts out the end of her cigarette
Malkas: {T Edith: Not actually sure.. Grim's taking point, going surprisingly well. I think the Pastor's gonna kill me but I'm used to looks like that."}
Edith Runekill: {T Mal: Pastor Jack being here really threw me for a loop. Maybe he and Pa are friends now that I'm away? I don't remember ever seeing him outside of church. He's way different when he's not inhaling the weird fumes from burnt offerings to Auril, I gotta say.}
Capridi is watching edith stare into nothing, unsure why she's spacing out.
Edith Runekill: "Oh, sorry! Got a bit distracted." She goes back to plating dinner.
Malkas: {T Edith: He's giving me the creeps, that's for sure.}
Edith Runekill: {T Mal: We'll be out soon. And then its smooth sailing.}
Capridi: "Is it cool if i stay in here? That old fool in the cloth is creeping me out."
Ma Runekill: "Excuse me."
Malkas: {T Edith: If you say so...}
Capridi: "[Celestian]I'm sorry, I dont know what you're saying. I don't speak the language."
Ma Runekill: "You were just speaking Common a second ago."
Capridi: "My languge is uhhh [celestian] not good, [common] apologies."
Ma Runekill: "You been in my hair long enough. Out you go."
Ma Runekill shoos Capridi out of the kitchen. Grace gives her a sympathetic look.
Capridi: "[celestian] jeez lady, take a joke."
Capridi walks back into the room, reluctantly
Pepper watches Cap come back in the room.
Pa Runekill: "Glad you could join us again."
Grim isn't
Pepper is glad for the distraction.
Pa Runekill: "Have a seat. No need to be a stranger."
Capridi takes a seat "[celestial] Fine, whatever."
Tom Runekill returns to the dinner table. He flashes Mal what he hopes is a reassuring smile; it's an expression Mal might have seen on Edith's face before.
Malkas makes that White People Smile at Tom.
Pastor John: [Celestial] Always a pleasure to meet a fellow speaker of the Celestial tongue.
Tom's children come in as a distraction while Pastor John attempts to talk with Cap in celestial and Cap attempts to ignore him. Mercifully, Ma comes out to announce it's dinner time and everyone heads to the table to eat.
The elder Runekills exchange a look before everyone sits down to a veritable country feast. Grim, Pepper, and Syd take notice of both the look and that Pastor John has something in his lap.
Pepper percepts the hell out of this scene.
Pepper gives Grim a sidelong glance like "this is weird right".
Malkas becomes 80% more nervous.
Grim glances at Pepper. Yep.
Sydney Gaydos curiously leans over to see what the Pastor put on his lap, given her size she probably doesn't need to lean over too much.
Grim spots Syd leaning over and gives Pepper another look
Pepper raises an eyebrow at that. Ha ha! Now Plaguewrought folks aren't the only ones who can talk without speaking!
Grim nudges Pepper and her eyes move to Syd and back again
Pepper: {T Sydney: What's old creepy holding over there? }
Pa Runekill stands. He cuts a dramatic figure standing in front of the eponymous family blade, Runekill. It's not even really undercut by Grace's commemorative plates underneath.
Pa Runekill: "Pastor Jack."
"Wanna lead everyone in saying grace?"
Capridi thinks "fuck"
Pastor John begins saying an incantation to Auril... and casts Zone of Truth.
Well!
How about that?
Sydney Gaydos eye narrows suspiciously. "Are Zones of Truth a normal occurrence at dinners in Plaguewrought?"
Malkas 's eyes flick to the Pastor, then to Pa. He carefully says nothing.
Grim looks up at the pastor and clenches her knuckles on the table, just barely stopping herself from getting to her feet. She looks ready to kill
Capridi is thankful she had caught on. She can't handle anymore awkwardness, especially from someone like pastor john.
Pastor John sets the thing he'd kept in his lap on the table; it's a black briefcase. He opens it-- you catch sight of three scrolls in it before he removes a newspaper and closes the briefcase again.
Malkas tries to catch Edith's eye.
Pepper sees Grim out of the corner of her eye but grins at the pastor. "I dunno, Syd, they were common enough around my dinner table."
Edith Runekill looks at Ma and Pa all like wtf
Tom Runekill looks appalled
Pastor John: The newspaper is a copy of the Baldur's Gate Globe from a few weeks ago. 'HEROES SAVE TRAIN MENACED BY KRAKEN' screams the headline. There's a photo of the mayor of Baldur's Gate giving an award to an extremely bedraggled-looking Edith, Sydney, Mal, Pepper, and Grim.
Capridi just pretends she doesn't know celestial either. She nods "[celestial] be thankful for bathroom days of ten"
Pa Runekill: "Now then."
"'Not much trouble', huh?"
"A few bulettes."
"How about you tell me what you're really up to out here?"
Grim: "You accusin' me of bein' a liar, pastor?"
"We met a couple bulettes on the road. They didn't slow us down too much."
Grim speaks in a growl
Capridi sits back and lets grim be the awkwardness sponge for once.
Pastor John: "Why are you going to Prastuil?"
Grim: "Miz Runkill's got contacts there. Checkin' on some research."
"Like. I. Said."
Grim is so angry she's rigid
Pastor John: "Researching what, specifically."
Grim: "The hell's it to a man who won't ask straight up?"
Edith Runekill: "Er, the medieval cultures of the East...?"
Pepper mage hands a roll.
Pastor John: "Not you, Edith. I want to hear it from the others."
Capridi hopes grim gets angry enough to punch out the pastor
Grim is close
Grim: "If you got somethin' to say, I'd rather you say it."
"Than go interrogatin' us like no-good lowlifes that weren't invited here fair 'n square."
Pastor John: "Okay, fine. I was going to give you one last chance to own up. I was even willing to facilitate that with some of... Auril's grace."
Pepper: "HAH! Say grace! I get it!" she guffaws, pointing between Pa and the Pastor.
Grim: "Own up?"
Grim does get to her feet, staring at the pastor
Pastor John tells the group that he knows Edith called her mother a few weeks before asking about her uncle in Secomber, he knows that there have been lich sightings in places the group has been, and that Prastuil is a leading authority on ancient Thay.
Grim stares at the pastor like she's daring him to object
Grim: "And?"
Pepper: "Sounds to me like he's got some weird lich obsession," she says to Grim, taking a bite out of a roll.
Pa Runekill cuts to the chase. "You're dragging our baby girl out chasing a Lich."
Pa Runekill: "You gonna deny that?"
Grim shoots Pa a disbelieving look
Sydney Gaydos: "We do not drag anyone! Much less Edith. She's coming with us of her own free will!"
Grim: "Mr. Runekill, your daughter's been on the front line of this fight from the first day Szass Tam showed his rotten ass face in Neverwinter. She's a goddamn hero, and you all ought to pray you measure up when the time comes it matters round here."
Grim shoots that look at the pastor too
Grim: "Just what have you done about the long dead evil trampin' over good folks these last months, Pastor John Icedirge?"
Capridi leans over Mal towards Syd, "[draconoc] Syd, this is weird. Why is this guy so hard pressed to get in our business? Sounds like something a hard boiled detective would need to investigate."
Pepper , in a sing-song voice in the Pastor's direction--in Elvish so it sounds EXTRA beautiful--"[Elvish] You fu-ucked u-up."
Pastor John: "Looking after my flock. And I won't say fighting a lich is an honorable thing. But you aren't gonna get Gordon's daughter killed doing it."
Edith Runekill: "I know what I'm doing!"
Pepper is just helping herself to bits of the meal while this unfolds.
Edith Runekill: "Grim's right! I'm doing this of my own free will. I want to do this."
Grim looks the Pastor in the eye, hands flat on the table as she leans over towards him
Grim: "I ain't gonna get Edith killed."
Capridi whispers to Syd some more "[draconic] You'd think a guy who's all about god would be delighted someone is taking care of a lich..."
Pa Runekill: "Just 'cause you want something don't mean its good for you, Edith."
Grim is like zone of truth up your own ass
Tom Runekill and Grace exchange some truly alarmed looks and, as the conversation gets more heated, they take their kids and leave.
Pepper waves as the family leaves.
Sydney Gaydos looks surprised at the sudden draconic, but replies to Capridi. [Draconic] "It's her parents' poor attempt at "concern" and an invasion of privacy is what it is."
Capridi: "[draconic] I'm not talking about her folks, but this dude. He was the only one who knew about this, its not like her folks invited him to convince her."
Pastor John sidles around the side of the table and stands next to Edith, by the seat vacated by Tom, Jr.
Malkas clenches his fists.
Malkas 's hands are under the table, on his lap.
Grim moves around the other side of the table, around Pa, oh man oh man oh man
Pepper just. Stands.
Pastor John: "I was afraid it would come to this. Girls like her never do see reason or think of what's best for her family. I'm afraid we must insist she stays here with her family, where she belongs."
Grim raises a finger in the pastor's face
Grim: "Lay one goddamn hand on her, I dare you."
Edith Runekill stands up, furious. "Let's-- go. Let's just go. Get our bags and leave."
Capridi "[draconic] condescending old fart"
Malkas stands. His heart is pounding in his chest and the look on his face is exactly what people worry about when they see tieflings.
Pastor John pulls the scrolls out of his briefcase and, off of one of them, casts Sleep on Edith.
Malkas launches over the table.
Pepper recoils from the Pastor and Mal and heck, just everything from that side of the table.
Oh.
Well then.
Game on!
Mal's first order of business is to smash the hilt of his sword into the Pastor's face before grabbing Edith.
Pastor John: "I knew it!"
Malkas: [Infernal] "GET AWAY FROM HER YOU SON OF A BITCH."
Pepper: "Hey, you don't get the moral high ground on this!" she says to the Pastor.
Capridi: "[celestial]KICK HIS SORRY ASS!"
Pepper fist pumps. "[Elvish] Eat shit, you weird old scarecrow."
Grim smacks the pastor with a tray, restrains him with vines and silences the room fuck you
Capridi: "Grim I take back all the shit I said about you!"
Pepper has the last bit of her sentence cut off by magical silence, but the point got across.
Capridi realizes no one can hear her, gives grim two thumbs up.
Grim is still holding the tray, breathing hard. She is So Angry.
Sydney Gaydos LEAPS across the table to pummel the Pastor with her fists.
Malkas 's wild snarling is even worse without any sound. You get the feeling this is what that Devil Hunter saw on Ocila's face seconds before his throat was slit by a child.
With the room silenced and the Pastor restrained by vines, the fight is over and—aw who am I kidding, both Syd and Cap join in and give him a few good punches as well. He tries to retaliate with his war hammer, but it's difficult from under vines and two dragonborn without any way of casting spells.
So Pa takes Runekill down from the mantle and smacks Grim in the back of the head with it.
Grim is so fucking pissed at you Pa Runekill
Grim IS DISPLEASED THAT YOU SWORDED HER IN THE BACK UNPROVOKED
Grim DICK
Pepper distracts him by throwing pepper in his eyes, allowing Mal to escape out the door with an unconscious Edith.
Pepper salutes Mal as he passes.
Malkas yells "THANK YOU FOR DINNER, SORRY ABOUT YOUR DISHES MRS. RUNEKILL."
Malkas: "Nice to meet you, Tom, we've really gotta get going on account of your father tryin' to kidnap Edith."
Tom Runekill: "I didn't know about any of this, I swear!"
Malkas: "It's fine, you seem nice, you should bring Grace and the kids over to the city sometime, we'll get lunch!"
Malkas is speaking as he's running.
Tom Runekill: "I don't... I'm not gonna pretend I know why Edith wants to do this kinda thing, but-- but it's her choice, right?"
Malkas: "I won't let anything happen to her. If I gotta slay Asmodeus himself."
Tom Runekill: "And he broke Hospitality rules. I... I don't know what he's doin'..."
Tom Runekill looks SUPER grossed out
Back inside, Grim takes a few swings at Pa while Syd does her best to headbutt the Pastor into submission. He's too determined to go down from that and avoids a wild swing from Cap who's cussing him out the whole time.
Outside, Edith tries to make sense of what happened.
Edith Runekill: "Uh... wha... what's going on?"
"Did I... faint?"
Malkas: "Sleep spell from Pastor Asshole. Pasthole."
Edith Runekill: [infernal] "What the fuck?"
"Pastor Jack? Is that why he was there?"
"Ugh... I... I led us right into this..."
Malkas: "I may have slammed the end of my sword into his face? Bit of a rage blur."
"Your brother seems nice. I don't recommend going back in there."
"Maybe you should hide in the camper?"
Meanwhile, Pa's proven himself too irresponsible to wield a sword—he does keep swinging it at unarmed people—and Syd grabs it from him. Enraged, he turns to go outside to find Edith, but Pepper and Grim block his way.
Grim just gives Pa such a look
Pepper grins at Pa.
Pepper: " 'Sup? My good chum?"
Pa Runekill glares daggers at Pepper.
Pepper grins back. She's like right between him and the door now, good, great.
Edith Runekill: "Should we go back in? Where is everyone?"
Malkas: "No no no, they're coming. I think."
Malkas leans on the horn.
Edith Runekill: "You THINK?"
Malkas: "It's only been like 10 seconds give them a sec!"
Grim gives Pa a warning look, then turns her attention to Pepper and jerks her head at the Pastor
Grim: "Tell him to stand down."
"This ain't gettin' resolved by blows."
Pa Runekill: "Stand down, Reverend! This ain't working!"
Pastor John gives Pa a thumbs-up, as if to indicate that everything is still under control and he's got this.
Capridi keeps tearing at the priest
Pepper uses prestidigitation to flash a message right over the pastor's big stupid face. "GIVE UP." There's also a lewd Elvish word tacked on to the end of it.
Grim considers Silencing the car
Pastor John loses the battle of wills with Grim and gives up, though Cap is still on top of him. She gets in a few more hits before Grim hauls her off into the parlor. Beaten and thoroughly chumped chagrined, the Pastor makes to leave.
Pa Runekill stands and just glowers at the wreckage of the dinner. And at the Pastor.
Grim: "Get it together. We're done here."
Pa Runekill: "Shoulda never let you talk me into breaking hospitality."
Capridi struggles as grim drags her away
Grim drags Cap into the living room before she's released
Sydney Gaydos follows Grim and the struggling Cap out closely, still clutching the sword blade whoops.
Pastor John: "Is that more important than your daughter's life, Gordon?" He looks absolutely livid.
Pa Runekill: "You told me this work, you told me it'd be worth it in the end, you told me... you..."
Pepper pulls a bag out of a pocket, shovels some of the dinner inside, and seals it up. "We'll see about getting her to call more often, eh?" she grins at Pa.
Pepper heads out to the living room.
Capridi wrestles herself away from Grim. She glares at her for a bit, knowing she went overboard but doesn't want to admit it. She sits down and tries to take a few deep breaths, still livid.
Grim turns back to look through the door at the two men, still mad as hell
Malkas wipes his tail on the grass. It was covered in potato.
Pastor John glares at Grim, and at the door, and back at Grim.
Grim steps in front of the pastor as he makes to leave. She looks him up and down, then looks him in the eye
Capridi picks herself up and heads outside without a word.
Grim: "Look to your own soul, pastor. Think about who needs the protectin' around here. And from what."
Grim steps aside and shoots Pa the same look over the pastor's shoulder
Grim: "You both oughta be ashamed."
Tom Runekill: "Yeah! What she said!"
Pepper slaps a dinner roll down into Tom's hand.
Grim sets her hat back on her head and lifts her rifle from the doorway
Pastor John stares at Grim a while longer, then turns and leaves. He gets into his station wagon and drives away.
Malkas watches him as he goes.
Pastor John a cloud of dust rises as he drives down the access road.
Grim sets a cigarette in her mouth and speaks to Pa around it as she lights up
Grim: "You're gonna live to see your daughter become a hero, Mr Runekill. Kind books're written on."
Malkas gives Cap an approving nod.
Grim: "Try to make peace with that."
Sydney Gaydos sees that Grim has it handled and heads outside towards the car-camper.
Capridi sits in the car and lights up. She doesn't look at Mal.
Pa Runekill says, in a low voice, "I'd rather have her here than in a history book."
Grim: "World needs history books. S'what keeps us here."
Pa Runekill: "Guess I... I don't got much of a leg to stand on. I brought dishonor down upon myself and my family, and got repaid by losing here tonight."
"Just... just go, all right? Just go."
Grim looks Pa up and down and pauses for a moment, then offers out her hand
Grim: "You'll see her again, sir. Promise you that."
Pa Runekill: "Don't make promise you can't keep."
Grim: "Never do."
Pa Runekill: "Hm."
Pa Runekill doesn't shake Grim's hand.
Tom Runekill gives Pa a reproachful look, and slips past Grim and Pa to go outside.
Grim leaves it open for several moments, looking him in the eye, then nods and turns to head for the door
Outside, Tom is still stunned by what happened. He apologizes to Edith and swears he had no idea what their father had been planning.
Tom Runekill: "They broke hospitality!" He looks aghast.
Malkas eyes Tom.
Tom Runekill: "Malkas. I... I still don't really know why anybody would wanna live their life like... all of you..." He gestures vaguely at the group. "But... but you seem like a good man."
Malkas: "Thanks. You seem like a good man too. Tell your mom I'm sorry if I broke any plates."
Tom Runekill smiles wanly. "They were Grace's plates. And Pa broke most of 'em."
Pepper sits in the car with a huff.
Grim drops her things in the car and leans against it, surveying the endless fields while she smokes
Malkas: "Well, still sorry."
Capridi just wants to hurry up and get out of this corn carpeted hellscape.
Tom Runekill: "Yeah."
Malkas sits next to Edith. "You guys keep safe."
Tom Runekill turns to look at Sydney. Or, more specifically, at the sword in her hands. "Runekill..."
Malkas lights two cigarettes and gives one to Edith.
Tom Runekill: "That blades been in our family since long before we came to Plaguewrought Land. Our ancestors wielded it back in the far north, when they were still pirates and explorers and raiders off the coast of Luska. It's seen... a lotta adventures."
Pepper: "It also saw the back of Grim's head," she frowns.
Sydney Gaydos: "Oh! Gaydos had forgotten she disarmed the sword from your father." She holds it, hilt out, towards Tom. "Would you like it back? It sounds very important to the family."
Tom Runekill: "It's been passed from father to son for generations. But for the last few, it's just been an ornament on the mantelpiece. But... but that ain't right. It's... it's an adventurer's blade."
"And there's only one Runekill who's having an adventure now."
Tom Runekill smiles at Edith.
Tom Runekill gently pushes the sword back towards Sydney. "Keep it. Keep my sister safe. And... and... and make it part of a STORY again."
Tom Runekill: "Anyway, Pa's shown he clearly can't be trusted with the thing in the house."
Sydney Gaydos hums in agreement. "You honor Gaydos with such things. Both sword and trust in Edith's safety. However..." she then holds the sword towards Edith. "This should be yours then."
Grim: "That man's all pride 'n no honor." Grim mutters from the back of the car where she leaning.
Pepper starts singing "Yer Pa Is A Fuckin' Dick." It's a traditional Elvish ballad. At least, that's how her dad tells it.
Edith Runekill takes the sword because it's such a touching family moment. Even though she has literally no idea how to use the sword and will probably give it back to Sydney.
Edith Runekill waves the sword experimentally.
Edith Runekill stares in wonder as the runes all start glowing.
Edith Runekill: "Oh!"
"Um."
Pepper stops singing. "Nice."
Edith Runekill: "Th-this is. It's an honor."
"I... I didn't think a Runekill girl would ever get to... get to. Well. Have this."
Capridi wants everyone to stop talking so we can leave. This place sucks.
Edith Runekill looks from Sydney to Tom and back to Sydney again. "Thank you."
It's a bittersweet moment as Edith makes plans with Tom to have him and his family visit her in the future before the group gets in the car and leaves. Pepper—who definitely swiped the Pastor's briefcase after the fight—starts rifling through his notes and reading them.
Pepper is reading this priest's shitty notes out loud on the drive.
Pepper: "This guy's a piece of work."
"This shit-eater was gonna try to banish you, Mal."
Malkas: "That's not how tieflings work."
Pepper: "'Grime'. I think this is you Grim. 'Make her leave her gun outside'."
Grim grunts
Pepper: "'The elf'. 'Take away her musical instrument, keep her from bolstering the group's morale'. This joker thinks I'm a bard."
"'The dragonborn'. 'Trick into fridge? Find a big bird??'." She wrinkles her nose.
Sydney Gaydos: "That's... not how dragonborns work."
Pepper holds the notes out the side of the car and incinerates them, scattering the ashes.
Malkas stares straight ahead.
Grim regrets starting a fight before dinner, in retrospect
Capridi is ready for this day to be over with.
Pepper offers the bag of Dinner to Grim. It's a little jumbled up, but not too gravy soaked. "I swiped some stuff Mal didn't step in."
Malkas: ".. 'm sorry, Edith."
Edith Runekill: "It's... it's 10000% not your fault."
Grim eyeballs it like she might turn it down, then takes a roll and stacks it with whatever she can find
Malkas: "I coulda handled it better. ... There's a motel at the next rest stop..."
Malkas points to a passing sign.
Edith Runekill 's eyes are fixed on the road. She's very hungry.
Edith Runekill takes that exit.
Grim: "Gotta find somewhere to eat," she says with her mouth full
Pepper nods and mumbles in agreement, unable to speak around a mouth of chicken.
Helia (GM): The car pulls up to the "Best" Diner in the "Area"
Edith Runekill parks at the rest stop. She's still in an area she recognizes; she used to eat here a lot. There's a few teens eating burgers outside.
Sydney Gaydos: "Pepper... if you have no need for the briefcase, may Gayods have it? It's very official and nice looking."
Pepper: "Mm," she licks her fingers. "Help yourself," she hands it over, tucking the scrolls into her pocket first.
Sydney Gaydos makes a delighted little noise and starts examining and touching the briefcase with oohs and aahs. "Thank you! She will put this to great use."
Edith Runekill hops out of the car. And then realizes she should probably not carry a sword into a diner.
Malkas wordlessly exits the car.
Grim finishes eating before she enters the diner, as is only polite
Edith Runekill picks up her staff instead.
Malkas sits at a booth and buries his head in his hands.
Edith Runekill sits next to Mal and drapes her arm over his shoulders.
The group tries to decompress over a diner meal, but the day's events are a lot to process. Mal and Edith both wonder if they did something wrong.
Grim: "Weren't nothin' you two did."
Malkas orders a beer.
Grim: "Runekill, you're a good kind. An' that's worth all the more now, seein' where you come from."
Pepper: "That creep was gonna kidnap you! And your dad was just--ugh." She crosses her arms.
Edith Runekill: "What did Pa do...?"
Grim takes a drag on her cigarette and drags an ashtray over, frowning
Capridi gets up to go to the bathroom. She doesn't wanna hear about this again.
Pepper: "Well he thought it was a good idea, for starters."
Edith Runekill: "Yeah."
"I... I knew he didn't exactly approve of how I been living my life, but... I... I wasn't..."
Helia (GM): The diner lady comes by, "Well, Edith Runekill. Ain't you a sight for sore eyes!"
Grim: "Mal 'n me restrained the priest. So your pop took down that old sword and-..." She raises a hand to the back of her head, only realising dimly now that she's still sticky with blood.
Helia (GM): She goes :| "I'll come back later."
Grim looks up at the diner lady, rubbing blood from her fingers
Edith Runekill: "Oh, so that's what Tom meant about dishonoring the blade..."
[infernal] FUCK.
Malkas: "I... overreacted a bit."
Edith Runekill: "I-- I-- I'm mad at HIM, and at myself, and... and..."
Grim: "You reacted about right from where I was stood, Malkas."
"Got Edith right outta there."
"Best way things coulda gone."
Sydney Gaydos: "Gaydos is in agreement. It was the right thing to do."
Edith Runekill: "I mean. If. If he really put me to sleep to try to kidnap me after I said I wanted to leave. Then... well. I think a strong response was kinda justified."
Pepper: "You didn't, you absolutely didn't," she says to Mal. "You protected her more than her dad did." She bangs on the table once for emphasis.
Grim: "Didn't mean to go startin' a real throwdown in there, but there ain't so much choice in it when a man comes at you from behind with a greatsword." Grim is still pretty pissed about that.
Pepper: "Who sits by and lets someone do that to their own daughter? Who thinks that's a good idea?" She's ranting at the salt shaker.
Sydney Gaydos: "Ah because of that... Grim, would you like some healing? Only if you feel comfortable with it." Sydney holds out her hand towards her.
Edith Runekill: "My... my parents did, apparently." She's still kind of trying to grapple with this.
Malkas: "Not your mom, I don't think."
"She didn't seem on board."
Grim waves Sydney off
Edith Runekill: "Oh..."
"Well. That's good to know."
Grim: "I'll knit up good with a li'l rest, and a good meal. Teach me to be less trustin' of folks I turn my back on."
Capridi comes back, wiping her hands with a paper towel. She tosses it on the floor behind her and sits on the bar nearby.
Sydney Gaydos sighs internally, and gets up to dispose of the paper towel in a trashbin.
Malkas: "I feel like I should write a letter of apology."
"For jumping on the pastor."
"And stepping on the potatoes."
Edith Runekill: "Pastor Jack cast a spell on me with hostile intent. He oughta apologize to us."
"But... maybe you should apologize to Ma and Grace about the potatoes."
Malkas: "Yeah."
Capridi speaking of potatoes, cap orders some fries.
Pepper: "That pastor's a jackass, you don't owe people like that the time of day."
Edith Runekill takes a long drink of her beer.
Pepper drinks but she's frowning so much a good portion dribbles out around the corners of her mouth. She ain't even give a damn. >:C
Grim ashes her cigarette, watching Edith
Pepper does use magic to dry her clothes, though.
Grim: "You okay, Edith?"
Edith Runekill: "I... no, not really."
"I just... I don't know."
Grim nods
Grim: "Well, I reckon we all had enough silence. F'you wanna talk."
Grim is not used to saying these words, ever
Edith Runekill: "It's just... that was my home. It's one I had a lot of mixed feelings about, one I was glad to leave behind in a lot of ways, but it was still... it was still home."
"But... it isn't anymore, I reckon."
Grim nods slowly at that, smoking as she listens
Malkas nurses his beer and listens quietly.
Pepper runs her fingers through her hair.
Edith Runekill: "Wasn't expecting something like that to go down there. So. So I let my guard down, I wasn't watching carefully enough. But. But I didn't expect that to happen at the table I ate dinner at for the first 18 years of my life, beneath my sister in law's collection of novelty plates, over a meal I helped cook."
"I just... it... I feel... dislocated now?"
Grim removes her cigarette from her mouth and exhales, nodding. She thinks about it for a moment before she answers.
Grim: "Edith, I ain't ever had a fixed abode, so I don't know what you're comin' from. But...as I see it, home is where your life is."
"This-..." She gestures around. "This is just a place you come from."
Pepper: "And all that about 'I let my guard down', 'I wasn't watching', that's bullshit, none of this is on you." She picks up and points at Edith with the salt shaker.
Capridi finds herself agreeing with grim. What the hell.
Edith Runekill nods at Grim and Pepper. "I guess..."
Edith Runekill: "It's just. I... I can't help but feel like I lost something big today."
Pepper: "Family shouldn't do what your dad did. Family should be there for you. Like Mal was." She looks like she has more to say but she just sets the salt shaker down.
Grim regards Edith, then gives a twitch of a half smile
Grim: "S'about time you started travellin' light."
Edith Runekill: "'Cept for the big heavy sword I drove off with."
Grim smirks
Grim: "That sure don't hurt."
"....poor choice've words, it sure did hurt."
Pepper peers at the back of Grim's head.
Grim places her hand over Pepper's face and pushes her back out of her personal bubble
Capridi turns around on the stool, and casts cure wounds on Grim.
Edith Runekill: "Yeah. It hurt. But. But it's still a big thing. Both literally, and... yeah."
Pepper: "Grouch," she says, muffled around Grim's hand.
Grim stiffens a little and glances sideways at Capridi, taken by surprise.
Capridi turns back around to eat her fries.
Pepper raises an eyebrow and busies herself with her drink.
Grim shivers a little and raises a hand to the back of her head, then lifts her cigarette and settles down again
Edith Runekill: "I... I'm still kinda shocked Tom just gave it up. He spent his whole life expecting to inherit that blade. It's his birthright as the oldest son, y'know?:
Grim: "You hear what he said about that sword, 'n adventurers?"
"I reckon he half wishes he was goin' with you too."
Edith Runekill: "He... he's proud of his family. And farm life suits him. But... well, you're right. He grew up on the same sagas of our ancestors I did."
Grim: "You might just be the first Runekill in a while who ain't afraid've the past."
Grim still can't believe they were j'accused over hunting a literal lich like it's a bad thing
Edith Runekill: "Well..."
Malkas: "We didn't even hunt that Kraken."
"That was just bad luck."
Malkas is talking distantly.
Malkas: "Weird thing to accuse us of..."
Pepper: "He's a weird guy!"
Edith Runekill entwines her hand in Mal's. The one she's not holding her beer in, anyway.
Edith Runekill: "I mean. It is true that we're doing the kinda thing where a run of bad luck means you nearly get killed by a kraken. No sense denying that. But... well, we know. We made a decision to do this."
In the end, the group does end up having a nice family dinner in their own way.
Pepper starts in quietly with an encore of the Elvish classic "Yer Pa Is A Fuckin' Dick" while waiting for her food. She's substituting 'Pastor' for 'Pa' this time.
Edith Runekill: [Elvish] "I am honor-bound to warn you that, for the last decade, Elvish is taught as a foreign language at the high schools here, and therefore your ribald lyrics might not go as uncomprehended as you might have preferred."
Pepper: "[Elvish] Dooooon't care."
Grim: [Elvish] "Yeah knock it off dipshit."
Edith Runekill does a double-take
Pepper is unperturbed at the lyrical sounds of bards and poets creaking out of Grim's mouth.
Grim continues to smoke and drink
Pepper locks eyes with Grim, reaches into her pocket, and pulls out her Hat. She puts it on and sips her drink.
Grim eyes her over and goes back to her beer
Edith Runekill: "Excuse me????"
Grim: [Elvish] "Seen it at the store I sold Mal."
[Elvish] "Still funny."
Edith Runekill: "We're gonna get thrown outta here and I haven't eaten yet and I'm so hungry so please take that off"
Pepper mage hands it on top of Edith's wizard hat.
Edith Runekill yelps
Pepper: "[Elvish] Shhhh, do you wanna get us kicked out?"
Grim: [Elvish] "Quit it, you jackanapes."
Edith Runekill mage-hands it off and onto the seat, out of sight.
Pepper snorts.
Grim: "An' I thought we got out've eatin' with kids."
Malkas silently eats his burger.
Pepper retrieves it and puts the hat away.
Edith Runekill: "Dorothea and Junior's table-manners are way better than we're doing right now, to be honest."
Grim: "Who the hell calls a kid junior anyway."
Edith Runekill: "People... here? He's Tom, Jr., so we just call him Junior. Is... is that weird?"
"I don't think that's weird."
Grim eats her burger like she didn't eat basically a light meal in the car
Grim: "What happens when they grow up"
Pepper ordered some sort of chef's special.
Pepper: "Sometimes THEY have a kid and call him 'the third'."
Pepper shakes her head.
Edith Runekill: "Well then he just reverts back to being Tom...? I don't know. Remind me not to name any of my kids 'Malkas' I guess."
Grim: "Hell's wrong with folk."
"Give your kids people names, damn."
Pepper: "Got that right."
Grim is unaware of any irony in this statement
Pepper ditto.

The Final 4 had the option to journey into the forest of Tashirojima and reflect upon the torches of the fallen players. Here is what they had to say...

I feel I should write a semi serious long confessional about losing Zach, but I'm absolutely shook.
I was FaceTiming Joanna during the tribal council, and I was actually baffled. I know he played a little hard, made lots of alliances with people and was really going after it, but I'd figure that something else would go down with that tribal council........ idk. Something about what happened last night makes me feel unsafe in the game, and I don't know how to respond to it.
Ricky, the night before tribal, was the one who spilled all the tea about Zach, which I just didn't know completely about until Ricky told me, but more importantly, all of this about Zach showed me that I'm really not as "in" with the OG Lazare as I thought I was. Not knowing any of this information about Zach, me not knowing that other people knew about the 6 person alliance that Zach tried to form.... it just makes me feel out of it
The good thing is that I'm very much working on my relationships with the people from the original Lazare that are currently on my tribe, and honestly, if that other tribe gets rid of people like Roxy or Ruben next, then maybe my game can restart with brand new relationships at the merge. I figure if people knew this much about Zach, they probably knew about my relation to him, and how involved I was in his game. I hope it doesn't come back to bite me, but for now, just gotta keep working my relationships in my tribe and hope that I can make it to the merge and MAYBE find another idol lol

I have a lot of thoughts going into tonight, specifically the fact that I wanted to make a move on Ricky, but also Dan kinda fucked it all up kjvnldfnsjklvndfjklvf
Dan, Ricky and I have a chat from the people who competed in jeopardy, and as cliche as it is, we decided that the three of us should work together. Also while this was all happening, Dan and Augusto BOTH previously, before we lost, spoke to me about "splitting up" Asya and Ricky because they were apparently in an alliance with Roxy or Nicole or something like that, and Nicole told Vilma, and Vilma told Augusto, and now Augusto told me........ and here we are.
They wanna split it up, and honestly I'm all for it. I don't want to keep around a lot of Lazare people because I felt pretty uncomfortable on that tribe with my social positioning, and even though I was in an alliance with Zach, Ruben and Roxy, it still feels idk.
The BIG thing that I was coming around to was the fact that Dan TOLD Ricky in our jeopardy chat that Augusto wanted to separate Ricky and Asya, and that just made me so...... hmph annoyed? at Dan. I feel that wasn't a smart move, and when you've got information, you've just gotta hold it close to your chest and talk to the people who ALSO know about that information, and Dan just kinda threw Augusto under the bus, who REALLY wanted to work with him, and now Ricky is losing any potential trust in Augusto and idrk what to do about it.
It's messy, but no one REALLY knows that all of this messiness is happening except for Dan, Ricky and myself because of the jeopardy chat, whomever they told (Ricky probably told Asya), and then I told Vilma bc I trusted her and wanted her to be on the same page as me.
My gut is telling me that Augusto is going to be fine, and that Vi is likely going to be the one going home, but it's definitely going to get crazy if this tribe goes to tribal again, and we may have to see the tribe implode between Augusto vs Ricky/Asya vs Dan for exploiting all the information. It could get nuts.
Honestly though? Keeping the problematic people around to make me blend in more and have to worry about getting voted out less and less? I'll take it.
I'm actually trying to be so non threatening this time it hurts, and I'm hoping I'm accomplishing that for now? i'm sure once we get to merge things will change teehee

Okay anyway I’m in a better mood today than most of my past confessionals so, enjoy that much. Things have been going well. I’m pretty sure Ruben got some cracked ass shit at Ghost Island and is just itching to use it. But, we won so he can’t ha HA ha. Anyway being on a tribe with my boyfriend started out kind of rocky since I’m kind of the stubborn one in our relationship but in this game Jared knows more about things so like....it’s been a bit tough for me to follow directions of a man! That’s not my style. But it is...what will probably get us both to the end of this game, if anything. Because I really don’t know that much about survivor and my strategy of kind of flopping until I need to backstab, just isn’t gonna work when we together are this big of a threat. So, I gotta like loosen the reigns and let him guide the horse ya know. But trust and believe in the words of Little Mix, “I’ll let you come take the wheel long as you don’t forget I got the power.” Which I’m sure is about sex but, I’m ....strictly talking about the game I swear.

He disclosed he wanted to go for Ricky or Asya, I went to Ricky and told him. Augusto tried to rally Ashen, who wasnt into it tbh, and now Augusto looks dumb lol
The plan as of right now is for Vi to get the chop. Will it happen? Sis I hope so. She’s just bland and doesn’t talk to anyone, so people can’t justify making a move against Ricky because Vi is basically dead.
I had a Thats So Raven moment in the car today when i was thinking about this game. I was thinking about how sickening a merge at 11 would be with me, Johnny, Jared, Nicole, Asya, and Ricky being the majority alliance. Then I thought about a me, Nicole, and Asya black widow final three where we vote out all of our men at f6 so that the three of us can get to the end. How sickening. We all have a guaranteed jury vote and we all look pretty.
Alright so I somehow managed to survive my first tribal back at Lazare and I highkey feel bad about it, but I'm still here so I am trying to take everything out of this second chance. I definitely feel like my odds of winning are close to zero especially after everything that went down, but close to zero is still better than zero, right??
Oh, and I found an idol too, WHAT???? This is the first time I've had an idol in an org and I don't know what to think about that. I got lucky with the reward and received a clue that was really helpful. I might have made a big mistake telling Johnny an Asya about the clue in our alliance chat because in the end I would have found the idol without their help and since I told about the clue I was pretty much forced to reveal that I had found the idol as well. I feel like I'm going to become a big target soon and everyone is going to know about the idol.
Our new tribe managed to win the first challenge, but the second one came down to luck and we were unlucky so yay, tribal awaits! Although everyone seems to be in agreement to vote out Vi tonight since she's been a bit busy and inactive and hasn't talked to people a lot. I'm definitely okay with that, I always enjoy a nice unanimous vote haha. Johnny told me that Augusto had tossed out the idea to vote out Ricky to split up Asya/Ricky who seem to be friends, and Dan later confirmed this was true. But right now it seems that people have settled on Vi and I'm honestly happy about that because 1) I would feel bad voting out an active player over an inactive and 2) Asya knows about my idol so I don't want to blindside her anytime soon. Other than that I'm not entirely sure where my loyalties lie at the moment but I'm sure it's going to become clear if we end up having to go to tribal again. Of course there's always a chance that everyone's bullshitting me and I'm getting blindsided later tonight, but I find it pretty unlikely that NO ONE of our tribe of 8 would let me know about that... So I am probably going to try and get some sleep now, and unfortunately miss tonight's tribal. I need to sleep after all these sleepless nights okay.

(this is questionable ethics honestly ur muse can refuse/i expect they won’t take too well to finding out she made people angry just to see how well they fight??? so er could also be a possible thread where they find out and shit goes down instead lol)

So I had me heart set on blindsiding Tara but then she had to go and play nice. Which meant I had to take a big risk and start drama. By saying that Rebecka, Ain, and I had a f3 deal I convinced her to start planning for a Rebecka blindside. Once she did I went to Ain and told him she was planning it, and to cover my bases I said she was trying to portray me as the mastermind behind it. So now we’re all at each others throats again, and I can hopefully pull this off.
Stephen is trying to get Rebecka and Me to vote Tara while everyone else votes Rebecka......... I appreciate the drama, the Big Move™, but he needs to be less messy about it.
So I don’t know what is going on but I’m pretty sure the survivor gods hate me, ironically. So everything was looking fine all we had to do was get Vi on board but apparently she was found something in the moors, she can’t say what but she seems confident that any attnept to vote Tara out will fail. Theres two possibilities here, one shes lying to save Tara, in which case we have to pull Jake and/or Aundra to get majority, or what she found protects Tara outright, in which case we’re screwed.

So Vi has been far too vague, and Ain and Rebecka are looking more and more vague. It is risky to keep people like Aundra and Jake in becuase they might want me out, but its riskier not knowing how things will be affected by Vi. So I’m voting Rebecka. sunday. yesterday: beale debate, got no work done since the whole 2 sessions are compulsory. A got a shout out for being an amazing speaker, which i was so proud of bc her friend’s mom passed away this week and she’s been really beaten up by it. she told me after sport last tuesday, before S died, and she had so much work on plus writing the whole speech and preparing for the debate. she does ib too. but her side won and she got a special mention. amazing!
after the debate we went back to house. L and i finished watching ahs: hotel, which wasn’t better than murder house if you ask me. loved liz though and lady gaga impressed me. as always i drooled over evan peters the whole time. suddenly we were incredibly restless so we decided to go out. we didn’t even tell J. it was already dark, around 4, but L did my makeup in a dark sort of way around my eyes and i washed my hair so that it dried in a wave above my forehead. J later said i looked “amazing” and “like eleven when she had her makeover”. i wore my long skl coat so L said i looked 21. we fucking went into waterstones i shit you not... turns out He didn’t quit his job, he was at the till in a blue christmas sweater with reindeers on it looking frankly handsome as hell. he was helping somebody else with finding a book but i was trying to find sth for K since i didn’t want to get her vegan mince pies. i bought a goat calendar for 2018 which i might give to P since he likes goats and silly things. suddenly i remembered that i wanted to buy more books by bret easton ellis because i’m intrigued to find out if all of them are as strange and confusing as american psycho. He was passing by me and looked back to smile in a “hi there regular customer who i have decided to smile tenderly at” way (hold on let me just describe more in detail how he smiled because i’m still replaying it in my head: it’s so wide that it’s startling, but he frowns only the outer part of his eyebrows and sort of mouths “hi” in a quick way. also his whole arm is lifted in a friendly wave. like he went out of his way to make it clear that he more than recognizes me. as in recognize would be wrong because we would recognize each other anywhere. we’ve interacted enough times, i’m not being weird.) so i went “ooh! i need to ask you something” and he stopped and wow my hands were sort of shaking but i didn’t notice at the time. then i took in his christmas sweater which was very obviously a christmas sweater and i said “merry... christmas” to which L later said “vi you’re so cute”. he replied with “thank you” in a serious tone which was weird. then i asked him if they had books by bret easton ellis. he took me upstairs and asked me why i wanted books by bret easton ellis. i told him i’d been reading american psycho. “ah. enjoyed it?” “uh i haven’t finished it yet. it’s a thing, apparently”. he laughed at that, so i felt quite triumphant. even though he’s kind and laughs at everything. i started rambling stupidly about taipei which was the reason i started reading american psycho and then said something uninteresting about the latter book. “it’s weird.” “yes, it is weird”. but it could’ve been worse. just wish i’d been more composed. usually i pull off the rambling awkward person thing. ahggjfjg. he showed me the ones they had and told me about bret easton ellis being “shockingly young” when he wrote less than zero so i picked that one over fatal attraction.

laughs. then i said thank you and he said “anything else i can help you with?”. i desperately wanted to be able to say yes for a good reason and talk with him for hours and ahghggjjgjgjg but obviously i just said “uh... i’m ok for now. thank you” so he went away after one more deadly smile and i bought less than zero as well as howard’s end which i’d only heard the name of. i really want to finish books again. i finished taipei, which i was so proud of. and i’m halfway through american psycho.
afterwards L and i walked around the christmas market, drank hot spiced cider, shared a waffle and a plastic cone full of sugared nuts. then we went back to house and watched the 1st episode of coven with J who doesn’t like scary things, but she enjoyed it. we literally did 0 work. :///
this morning we got up and had 15 mins to get ready for the advent service. i put on the headband i’ve started wearing to get my hair out of my face and my old grayish sweater with wide sleeves. and jeans. we sang lovely carols and i saw mr H by the organ which cheered me up. not that i was in a bad mood. then we had lunch at house, sunday roast. instead of doing work we watched another episode of coven. it’s such a good season plus, the bae is back. made me wanna go to tulane even more! at 3 we had to go to town to buy essentials and vegan mince pies for K, who is my secret santa. we went into accessorise for J to find earrings for L even though L was with us. think she didn’t notice. A was there with her friend from the yr below. J bought L a small necklace with the capricorn constellation on it. we walked around for ages, drank mulled wine and bubble tea, tried to go to waitrose but it was closed so i gotta go tmr to buy the damn mince pies. we talked about what it would be like if we were in coven. it goes like this:

L’s power: she can provoke or augment emotions in others. she can cause panic attacks, depression, bursts of anger, random tears, etc. comes in handier than you might think. she is a long-time relative of people involved with miss robichaux’s academy so she’s always been destined to end up there. or maybe she lives there!
J can manipulate light so she can become invisible or temporarily blind people, etc. we all end up in new orleans one way or another. i think we’ll talk about it more.
i started writing tonight because i have so much work it’s ridiculous. i need to write my theory of knowledge essay first draft, spend 2 hours on an english essay that i’m worried about (i’ve lost touch!!!) AND finish the math ia :))). mr M helped me LOADS (probably more than he ought to). details another time. i’m worried about work :( and motivation. but i’ve already done quite a lot! courage.

I was such a flop this first round, I’m literally embarrassed to still be here hahaha. I never would have played a game like this a year or two ago. Oh well, coming out of retirement has it’s disadvantages. As for the tribe, I feel really good about Ash and Dan and Augusto, they all seem great!! I want to work with those 3, I think an alliance would be great, but I don’t know yet how they feel about each other, so I’ll wait until I figure that out before I approach it. I want to try Jared, but it’s hard bc he’s been exiled so we really couldn’t strategize this round, idk who he wants to work with. I don’t feel good about JG, Frankie, Drake or Regan. Idk if they just don’t like me or if they wanna target me, but they have literally either ignored me/left me on read or had the most dry conversations with me. Like I’m so social, I can talk to anyone, but not brick walls, come on now. Ash told me yesterday that they were throwing my name around, which was terrifying. The only reason I didn’t vote earlier is bc I didn’t know if I was going to have to do something crazy. You can’t change your vote, so I didn’t wanna screw myself, but I guess that’s what I did anyway. I literally forgot about tribal, I was watching a damn Harry Potter movie totally clueless that I was getting a self-vote. Moving into this reward challenge, feeling pretty good about this team. We get along well, and a relatively quiet. Hope that's the same experience everyone else is having and it's not just me.
So far I’m in 0 alliances but I think that’s ok. In Ko Chang I was fresh off an ORG where I was a major goat and let someone else run my game and I wasn’t particularly nice to the other side, so I was a Nat10 essentially. Still got 4 votes tho by begging and pleading 😌😌😌😌but I went into Ko Chang wanting to change that and actually run the game to win and be respected, ended up getting blindsided for being too controlling, and now in an attempt to finish my business I’m trying to change my game AGAIN and succeed by building genuine relationships and I think I am. I actually like my tribe a lot and I think I could be legit friends with Ash and Augusta especially, vs last season I kinda disliked a lot of them on a personal level. I’m just gonna take it slow and build genuine relationships with people and be nice and maybe it’ll be what it takes for me to win.

tbh being cast for the season didn't surprise me, because I knew I was getting cast lowkey, but starting the game up and getting to see who is actually in this group of people is pretty stellar, and I'm pleased with it, especially me being on this tribe compared to being on the other tribe. Mr Crooks - Well first off...... the last time we played together was over a year ago, in a little place called Japan, and it did NOT go well for him and I. I thought he was bad at conversations, he didn't want me to have a say, but just kinda vote with him instead, and he got VERY snippy at me when we were talking about getting rid of a villain, I proposed Sarah, and then he ran and told Sarah and almost got me sent home. But since then, Alex and I have become friends, and I think it's really good that we're in this game together. Nicole - I love Nicole to death. Another person i very much want to work with. I know the feeling may not be reciprocated, specifically from her boyfriend Jared on the other tribe, who has beef with me from Game Changers, but I am definitely hoping for the best now, and I think that her and I will definitely work together, at least in these early stages.
Zach - Zach is one COOL motherfucker. Has a lot of super cool stories to tell, and we spoke a lot when we did 99 bottles together. He and I (and Alex) have been comparing notes for idol searches, so I think he wants to work with me. I can tell he still has some newb in him because he wanted to make a six person alliance with myself, him, Alex, Nicole, Vi and Roxy, but I just don't think a six person alliance is really what is going to help us at this point in the game.... it can only hurt us if certain people are smart enough, and I also don't trust certain people in that group :/
Ruben - Pretty solid dude. Just getting to know him, but he keeps talking about how I'm talking to him more than everyone else, so I'll take it as a win. Our conversations have been pretty one dimensional, but we spoke about who may be the first boot, so I'm not too nervous for THAT now
Vilma - Another one I really think I can work well with in this game. She seems like such a nice soul, and I don't see that devilish side to her yet, but I'm sure it's going to come out at one point or another, but she seems very open, and I know doing 99 bottles with her is just going to initially keep me safe with her hopefully.
Vi - Vi seems cool. I have been told she's a bit of a floater, I've seen it at times too, but I definitely don't think that she is going to be too much of a force, and if anything, her social game might lack, which can just help my positioning in this initial tribe. Would LOVE to work with Vi, especially dragging as many people who've done well in the past with me as deep as I can to keep other threats around me, but yea.... Vi is cool, and taught me how to make my own sushi, so we rollin
Asya - I trust Asya, I want to work with Asya, but what I'm hearing the general consensus is that she isn't talking to people as much. I can agree I don't think our conversations have been STELLAR, but I definitely think we've spoken enough, so idk how everyone else is feeling, but I've heard a mix of Asya and Ricky being the least active... As long as it ain't me
Roxy - I only trust Roxy now because I don't think she'd make the stab at me this early, and I'm trying my hardest to make her feel comfortable, werk up this ORG flirt I've got going on, and hope it takes me somewhere. We've played together twice in the past, and both times she has made a stab at me before I was able to make a stab at her, and I'm sure she's thinking the same thing in her mind, but also there are a lot of people who dislike each other and have beef, so hopefully Roxy can see me as a number for as long as possible and not make a move on me
Ricky - I like you personally, but you've just been sick this whole time, and apparently you're friends with Roxy according to some people/what I've heard, so idk.... kind of scary, but we'll see what comes of us. I'll start talking to you more soon

So yea, there's my tribe... I know I like them all as people, which is going to help me spread myself thin within the tribe, I just need to keep reminding myself to not stick my neck out or try to do ANYTHING substantial until later. I've gotta keep my social relationships in tact, I've gotta play the field, lower my status a bit as someone who could be voted out, and just hope for the best.
Having an idol in my pocket certainly helps, and with my LOVE of music videos right here, I think I have a chance to get some "This Is Me" redemption, if my tribe actually would rather do that over Immortals, since we literally only have two options because Isaac is a dumb thot.

Regan is kinda annoying me with her woe is me shit, Don't get me wrong I still love her to death, however she's complaining in the tribe chat about every suggestion we make towards the music video, and then she comes crying to my dms about how shes going to get voted out for every little thing she does. She also threatened to quit as well which is really messy imo. Idk if I can stay allied with her for long as I dont want to associate myself with paranoid messes.
I woke up at camp yesterday morning and was PARCHED, just simply like.....dying of thirst. So I decide to go out to the well, and there's a cute little parchment sitting there. It has my name on it and everything so I'm like....it's TREEMAIL FOR ME? JUST ME?? Amazing. So, I open it up and....it's a Legacy ADVANTAGE. I am so hyped honestly, but I have absolutely no faith in me to actually use this correctly in any way shape or form. The names on it are Johnny, Andrew, Crow, Jared, Me. So that means Jared must've found it at Ghost Island and willed it to me BUT, that worries me for him because I feel like people will think he has it and will subsequently vote him out. Which would just leave me feeling guilty because I shot my boyfriend, got him sent to exile, he willed an advantage to me, then his tribe voted him out because of said advantage which I still have.....I love a moral dilemma. I actually hate it. I know if we lose immunity again, the tribe is going to want to send Regan to Ghost Island which means that they will probably 90% vote out Jared. But, then again I don't know the tribe dynamics over there. I should have more faith that Jared can make connections and more faith in him in general. He did make it to 2nd when I've only made it to third.
I contemplated throwing this challenge just because I have more faith in Vi or Ruben being at the bottom of our totem pole than Jared being at the bottom of his just because his tribe seems.......not invested enough to think it's a smart strategic decision to literally keep him until merge, use us for numbers but then chuck us away because both of us can't win an individual immunity. But then the challenge was a music video which is virtually impossible to throw and even more impossibly able to do it in a light that's not suspicious. I need to solidify an alliance of some sort or something like...this is too wild.
I get how me and Jared can be targeted because of the whole couple thing and the fact that we are um....both kind of amazing at this, not to flex but....we're amazing at strategic thinking it's kind of what we do and just how our minds are built, his moreso than mine. But, like I reaaaaaaaaaaaaallly hope I can allude to some sort of weakness that makes people keep me around much longer and him around much longer again on his tribe.
I'm not saying their tribe is gonna lose immunity bc that's cocky but, if it does come down to our tribe flopping at it, I might be set. I think Johnny might try to get me out that little rat. But, besides that I think I would have Asya and Ricky on my side, and maybe even Zach. It's hard because Jared and I are....an inseparable duo. I would literally never vote him out unless he like, asked me to. I know how much he invests in these games and would never do that to him. Anyways in terms of the game, the Legacy Advantage is going to stay a secret. I'm not telling a single soul and I have faith in Jared to keep his mouth shut about it too, seeing as though he might know what I've gotten? I doubt it would be randomly given to me and he'd have to have some knowledge if his name is written down on the bottom of it too.
So far my order of people I trust (most to least) is Ricky > Johnny > Alex > Roxy > Asya > Zach > Vilma > Ruben > Vilma

That last vote was the HARDEST and WILDEST vote in Tumblr Survivor history… said no one. As sad as I am that I never really got to know Allison and as concerned as I am that she’s doing alright (we really don’t know), I’m happy she left and we got that out of our system. Hopefully, this will allow us to win and do the damn thing! My only concern is that Samantha self-voted last tribal and that coupled with the fact that her name was on the chopping block somewhat makes me a bit nervous. That being said, this is a case of deja vu that should really just stay in the past. What I mean is that I’ve always been the type of person that looked out for other people and it’s bitten me in the ass. In Bhutan, I took out an alliance member because I valued my friendship with Ari and it ended up getting me out since she was seen as more valuable and I was untrustworthy. In Great Lakes, I gave up the chance at safety at Exile for Emmon to save an ally and it got me taken out since I was also seen as a major threat. Samantha is probably my closest ally here at the moment, but if she’s on a sinking ship, I don’t mind using the only life vest on myself for a change. I think I finally figured out that while I am someone who tries to stay loyal for the most part, if someone is digging themselves a hole during the premerge, you just have to let it happen. Maybe a big part of my unfinished business is minding my own.

Reward challenges are always a mixed bag as people don’t try as hard since it’s “just a reward” and while that may be true, advantages of any kind in a game like this shouldn’t be taken lightly. Think about it from this perspective, our tribe currently has lost one member and likely to lose another (fax, no printer rip) so if the other tribe wins an idol clue then they have yet another advantage over us. If we swap next round like I think we might, a numbers disadvantage and the likelihood of not having a power just ruins our chances. But anyways, this wasn’t our challenge to win because this game is MESSY and people (coughAlexcough) are good at like everything. But yeah, I just wanted to put that out there cause it was on my mind. Also, I’m super happy that Jared’s back since he and I are pretty close! Although, I wish he would tell me about Ghost Island but I also shouldn’t expect as much this early on. We did talk about potentially making an alliance and who we would want in it and… it was a bit of us not giving out info and thoughts on the game. It makes sense, we’re in the “avoid too much game talk, anyone but me” stage but we did come to a consensus that Ashen is cool and that we both like Samantha and Regan, but it never evolved into anything else. Another challenge loss is likely to change the lack of info though, I’m sure of it.
Ya know what’s fun? Being on a flop tribe. I’m truly enjoying myself. Everyone I hate is on the other tribe so I can’t wait for a swap or merge so I can get picked off quickly :~) hehehehe I love it

Besides losing the challenge tonight I got into a fight with both my boyfriend and one of my really good friends. So depression is real sisters. I’m spiraling. Maybe they’ll put me out of my misery tomorrow and Ol Yeller me out back. But until then I’m gonna make like Gabby on survivor David vs Goliath and cry.
So we lost because the judges liked their song choice a lot better, even though their video is a straight rip off from the one in flops. It's just honestly annoying if I'm being completely honest. Oh well I'm in the lowkey alliance with Ash, Augusto, and possibly Sam as well which is an interesting alliance tribe dynamic. I just feel good because the judges complimented me and Ash, and I finally completed a music video challenge!

I have never been more disappointed in competition results in my entire game career. The other tribe completely stole the theme and video and won with it ?? The judges literally picked them bc they love the song and they didn’t know it was stolen. I’m so annoyed and upset that we are having to lose another person, it makes me actually angry too. I’m also annoyed that Jared just like didn’t put me in the video. I sent him so many clips, and he used TWO! And I’ve talked around, he did that with other people too. Dan was the star of the video, so much so that the judges complained about not enough tribe participation. I’m not saying I could do a better editing job, I don’t even have a program to do so, however, I want so badly to ask Jared why the fuck he cut me out so much. I don’t even know who we are voting out this round. Ash came to with me an alliance of augusto and drake, which I love ash and augusto, but last round, ash told me drake was saying my name ?? I agreed of course, but I will be very skeptical of him until I know I can trust him. I wish JG didn’t go to ghost island, he’s the one I would want gone the most, just bc he won’t talk to me ever. I guess Frankie would be my next option for voting out? I love dan and I really wanna work with him. I also confided a lot of stuff in Jared last week, which is why I’m so confused why he didn’t put me in the video. I was wanting to work with him but now I’m not sure. I need to look for the idol before tribal tomorrow. I really hope my self vote last round and my absence in the music video doesn’t somehow target me. The game is getting more difficult now that I am faced with going to tribal council. But I know I'm the smartest player on this tribe so I'll be able to figure it out. I went through 10 different phases of thought at work today, but I played my ass off to position myself so let me just date my perspective at this moment- 6 pm, before the 2nd tribal council, November 30th.
Here, I'll try to paint a picture of the dynamic.
-the nucleus of the tribe **/Dan and Regan's relationship
-outer layer **/myself, Augusto, Sam
-secret trio (weak trust level) **/myself, JG, Drake
-Frankie and Ashen solo-dolo
Dan initially floated Drake's name out, but I knew I didn't want that. I chose to bide my time, and everyone was slow to the trigger in terms of suggesting a name. I spent the day heavily cultivating every single relationship, except for Augusto who was not around much. This is fine because our bond is already quite strong. I really worked from the shadows today. I intentionally pressed Drake's insecurities and instilled confidence in him to throw out a name, without ever alluding to someone saying his name. I don't want to give anyone info until I need to, and I don't want anything being traced back to me.
I got as much info as I could from Drake. He said prior to my conversation with him, he tossed around the idea of voting Frankie to a few people, and that they responded well. I waited to scout out if it would get back to me. Surely enough, Regan messages me about it. I really leaned into a proposed partnership in this game with Regan. It's unsettling because she can be a loose cannon. We'll see how that goes.
I reaffirmed that it is not a bad move to vote Frankie, and slowly the name started to spread. I tried my best to lock it down with everyone without showing a bias.
I called with Regan for a bit. I just want her, along with everyone else, to feel as good about me as possible. At this hour it looks like Frankie will be evicted. Things change quickly though.

Shocker, we lost the immunity challenge! It should be my catchphrase at this point… but anyway, I’m sad we lost and I kind of thought we wouldn’t but not all things can go my way. A lot has happened over the past two days and I feel like I might be at the center of it all in some aspects? Firstly, Ash approached me about an alliance with me, Ash, and Drake which surprised me if I’m honest because Drake and I talk but I didn’t think he’d want to work with me and then I’m also surprised they are close it seems. Furthermore, we added Samantha to our alliance and it is something I’m super happy about since Samantha and I are super close. The only dilemma I have is that I am working with Dan, Jared, Regan, and Frankie as well and that’s basically the entire tribe minus JG, who was conveniently sent to Ghost Island. I love being social and whatnot, but these are the times where I wish I wasn’t AS social. Honestly, I’ve been trying to be more lowkey about it as well like leaving people on seen or going a day without a chat… but even then I can’t seem to make it work. It’d be a shame if my unfinished business remains unfinished if I’m seen as a social threat and am taken out because of it. So yeah, now that JG is away from the tribe I have to choose between people I can work with. In the alliance chat, Ash suggested we voted off Regan which is something I wasn’t super happy about because Regan and I are close and have the same enemies per se (ie. Johnny) and Drake thankfully suggested Frankie lowkey. Frankie is someone who I adore, but he’s too lowkey to ever really work with I think? Plus it makes the most sense to me since he is so quiet and it would be easier to keep tribe unity and not expose me as a player, which is why I tried to push for it somewhat. After we came to that consensus however, the info about Frankie being the target wasn’t given from me to others and that makes me seem lowkey as well (Regan and others told ME that Frankie was the target as if I didn’t know, which is cool). My only hope is that once JG comes back, he stays on our tribe if we lose again so he can be voted out and I can save face with everyone else. We love a complicated game (‘:
