A/N:
I kinda forgot wtf I was doing here.
Most of my Kinktober works were written well in advance, but this wasn’t one of them. I wrote this 2 days before it was due. My requests are pilling up but I should start prioritising these now. I doubt I’ve gotten that Matthew Patel request done yet, I planned to do that when I got the requester’s first message about it, sent the same day I got the request, but not anymore. Sounds a lot like a request got ages ago on my previous account but deleted when I started feeling harassed by the requester. This is more for the Matthew Patel requester than anyone else but yeah… don’t harass people about requests especially if it hasn’t been that long since you sent it. Everyone, harass me over a request and I’ll just delete it. You can send one reminder after a week and that’s it. Anymore and I delete. I usually have requests done in a week or two and those kinds of messages just destroy my motivation.
Anyway! Please enjoy this Undertaker smut.
Here are my other Kinktober 2023 works.

—-///—-
You had been feeling dam good since you started sleeping with the Undertaker.
You had new relationship jitters, even if it wasn’t really a relationship. He was what you had fantasied about for years. An older gentleman who was kind and treated you like a Queen, but also open about wanting to ravishing you. With his age also came along a lot of life and sexual experience, a lot more than you had. He never mocked you for knowing less than him, he was just happy you wanted to know and happily taught you a lot.
Whilst age gap relationships have always been common and considered normal prior to the Victorian era, it was slowly becoming distasteful. Something many were unhappy with but also many other who were happy. Undertaker, years ago, would have been in favour this but with you now… he was in the middle and uncomfortable with it. Surely you and his relationship was ok because you was definitely an adult.
You were pretty set in stone on the matter. To you, age gap relationships were bad, unless it was you. You were a young woman who would never say no to an older man, even when you was a girl. You knew your exes were absolutely pedos, but you didn’t care as long as it was just you they were after. And no you didn’t consider yourself a victim.
You didn’t think of Undertaker in the same way though. You was an adult when you met him therefore wasn’t bad for perusing you. Well, you perused him but it didn’t matter.
Right know you was doing some dusting in the front of Undertaker’s shop, he was in the back. The first thing you took notice of when you first met your lover… was how nasty his shop is. It’s always covered in dirt and stinked of death. Obviously it would smell of death, it’s a funeral home, but the dirt was unnecessary and you was surprised that Undertaker had tried to do something about the smell. You figured he’s probably gotten used to it now and gone nose blind.
Once you had cleaned to a satisfying amount, you heard the bell go. You looked up and saw the familiar Earl Phantomhive and his butler. The young boy always looked so dam miserable, it depressed you. You didn’t like interacting with either of them and they never seemed to want your help, so you called your bedmate.
Undertaker came into the room, happy to deal with the Phantomhive and his butler. You was aware the two engaged in a different kind of business than coffins or funeral services, but it was none of your business what their business was. So you wasn’t going to ask…
Instead you headed out of the room and upstairs to bed, it was late and you knew Undertaker would join you after he was done with his ‘business’.
—-///—-
“Sort out the Earl?” You asked.
“Yes, Dear.” Undertaker smiled as he climbed into his bed, next you.
You sat up immediately and glared at him, “How many times have I told you Undie?! No sleeping in your day clothes!”
He laughed as you pushed him out of his own bed. Yeah, Undertaker had a bad habit of sleeping in his day clothes. He didn’t own PJs until you came into his life, nearly a year ago now.
“Ok! Ok!” Undertaker walked over to his drawers to fish out his sleepwear.
Once he did, he placed them on the end of the bed and looked down at you. You gave him a small smile, suddenly remembering this was his home and his bed and who are you say anything about how he sleeps? After all, you’re not even dating.
Undertaker grinned widely at you and slowly started removing his cloak. Ah, he was trying to indicate something.
He slowly stripped completely in front of you before getting back on the bed and crawling onto you. You kissed his lip gently and took hold of his arms, but Undertaker shook your hold off his arms and grabbed your face to pull you even closer to him, deeping your kiss. He quickly slipped his tongue into your mouth, desperate for a makeout session.
You moaned in between the kisses, you were started to feel a growing sensation in between your legs. If not dealt with quickly, it would become uncomfortable. Luckily for you, Undertaker could sense your arousal and was more than willing to help.
He let go of your lips and before you could even whine or complain, he was pulling the duvet and sleep shorts down and licking your lower regions. You made your hands comfortable, pulling on the pillow under your head and proped up your legs and planted your feet into the bed.
Undertaker ate you out like a mad mad. Sucking, licking, spitting and groaning like crazy. Your pussy and it’s sweet smell made him act unusual, way less calm and in control than usual. This was something you was proud of. You had the power (or pussy) to make Undertaker lose all composure.
You started to feel less prideful about your achievement as you started to feel yourself losing to Undertaker’s tongue. Your whimpered had become cries and moans, you begged him for release but you should of known better. It would be a long while before you got that.
Undertaker grinned evily against your cunt then looked up you, just go get a glimpse of your flustered expression. Having wait himself for release was a sacrifice he was willing to make if he got to see you cry and beg him for climax. He absolutely got a weird power trip from it.
“Oh please… oh please Daddy, I need to cum now!”
“Nu uh uh! You don’t get to cum until I say so, Dearie!”
You were still staring up at the ceiling and unable to look down, but you didn’t need to look down to know Undertaker was wearing his usual evil wicked grin. He always had that look when he was planning to edge you to death.

Chapter 8 - Half of My Heart
Half of my heart's got a grip on the situation,
Half of my heart takes time.
Half of my heart's got the right mind to tell you,
That I can't keep loving you,
With half of my heart.
“Y/N,” he swallowed. “What are you doing here?”
He felt like his heart had leapt into his throat at the sight of you on his porch.
You were probably the last person he expected to see here, on his doorstep in the middle of the night.
You hadn’t said a word to him since crushing the very expensive bouquet of flowers so to say he was surprised to find you here was an understatement.
“I don’t know why I came here.” You shrugged, scuffing your toe on the doorstep.
You were dressed in sweats, your hair was a little messy and your face was make-up free as though you’d just rolled out of bed.
The truth was you had. You’d been laying in bed staring at the ceiling and all you could think of was Spencer.
You were angry at him, hurt at the way he’d treated you but for some ungodly reason you missed him.
So you’d found yourself jumping out of bed and into your car and driving out of DC and into the Virginia suburbs just to see his face.
But you didn’t have any idea what you planned on saying when you were actually here, or why you’d come here in the first place.
“Oh.” He chewed on his lip. “Ok?”
“Can I come in?”
Spencer looked over his shoulder briefly before looking back at you. His expression was almost guilty.
“Uh…you see the thing is…”
Your heart dropped and your chest tightened as you stared at him wide eyed.
“Oh gosh,” you gasped, stumbling backwards a little. “You have another woman in there.”
Spencer couldn’t help the chuckle that left his lips at the misunderstanding.
“In a way. A little woman. Daisy’s home.” He shrugged.
“Oh.” You exhaled, trying to get your breathing back to normal. “I thought your kids were with their mom this weekend?”
“Lily is. Daisy…there was a thing. It was messy. It resulted in Daisy not wanting to see her mom right now.” He gnawed on his lip. “She’s asleep though, so it’s probably ok if you come in.”
You nodded stiffly and Spencer held the door open for you to enter. He noticed you immediately glancing around the room.
“You painted?” You frowned, and now you were in the light you could see paw prints all over his shirt. “And so did your dog.”
“Yeah. It was time.” He shrugged, leading you over to the couch and wishing he’d thought to change out of his paint covered shirt.
He completely forgot he had the photo album still laid open on the coffee table and he saw your eyes land on it straight away.
You took in the photograph of a much younger Spencer and his pregnant new wife.
“Uh…I don’t even know how to explain that.” Spencer sighed, chewing heavily on his lip. “It’s been a really fucking weird week.”
You glanced up at him as he raked his fingers through his hair.
“You look so young.” You mused.
“I guess I was. It seems like a different lifetime ago now.” He shook his head.
“So does this fucking weird week have any relevance to why you showed up at my apartment drunk out of your mind and acted like a complete asshole?” You raised an eyebrow at him.
“Kind of.” He shrugged. “I haven’t told you the reason why I got divorced.”
You narrowed your eyes on him, wondering what this had to do with things, but wanted to give him a chance to explain.
“No, you haven’t.”
“My ex-wife, Maeve, was having an affair. For three years.” He spoke stoically. “We never told the kids why we broke up, it seemed better if they didn’t know. But Daisy found out and I got angry and I tend to drink when I’m angry. And that’s how I ended up at your apartment, drunk out of my mind and acting like a complete asshole.”
“Three years? Shit.” You rolled fur lip between your teeth. “That’s fucked up.”
“Yeah.” Spencer leaned forward and closed the photo album that seemed to be taunting him. “I wasn’t pining or anything. That’s not what this was about. I just…I don’t know. I needed to remember when things were good. Because things feel as though they haven’t been good in a really long time. Not at least until I met you.”
“You were a jerk.”
“I was. It was totally inexcusable for me to act the way I did. When it comes to my ex and my kids, I can get a little crazy.”
“I can tell.” You softened a little. “It doesn’t make up for how you treated me.”
“No, it doesn’t. I can sit here and say I’m sorry until I’m blue in the face, Y/N. I am sorry, if I could take it back I would. The last thing I ever wanted to do was make you think I only wanted you for sex because that’s not true. At least I don’t think it is.
Honestly I don’t know what I expected between us. I wasn’t looking to meet someone or start anything. I was just trying to get through life one day at a time and keep my head above water. Dating was the last thing on my mind.
But then, there you were. You just showed up in my life and made me believe I could be happy again. And I went and fucked that up by getting drunk.
I’m a mess ok? I can’t promise I’m not going to get wound up by something my ex-wife does and drink through the anger again. My life is a fucking disaster, quite frankly. And I’d understand if you didn’t want to get involved in the tsunami of my life, I get it. It’s a lot to ask of anyone. I have baggage and sometimes it’s too much for me to carry alone so I drink or I shut myself off from the world.
There are a million reasons for you to walk away. And I wouldn’t blame you if you did. I just hope that maybe you see something in me worth staying for.”
Spencer inhaled deeply after his long, sprawling rant.
He’d been sitting on the words all week, desperate for you to hear them. And now he had you in front of him he had to get them out before you left again.
You needed to know the full story, everything you were getting yourself into if in fact you wanted to get into it with him.
He needed to lay all his cards on the table and hope to god it wouldn’t completely terrify you.
You listened intently and took in every one of his words, sitting and swirling them around your brain for a few moments.
Spencer chewed erratically on his lip while he waited for you to respond.
When you did, your words took him a little by surprise.
“Look Spencer, I need to know, do you still have feelings for your ex? Because I don’t want to get in over my head for a man who’s hung up on somebody else.” You folded your arms across your chest in a way of creating a barrier between the two of you.
Spencer glanced back at the closed photo album, biting on the inside of his cheek.
“The truth is, I don’t know.” He looked back at you, tears glistening behind his eyes. “We got married before we had the chance to know each other. I always told myself that I loved her, sure, but I was never in love with her. I focused on my girls after she left, only letting myself think about what her leaving did to them. I told everyone I was fine because it was just a marriage of convenience.
No one thought we were going to last, myself included. My father walked out on me and my mom when I was ten. My mentor who hand picked me for the BAU left me with a note. People leave me. It’s a pattern. I guess I always thought she’d do the same. So I tell myself I don’t care and that I’m fine but really…I honestly don’t know how I feel.”
You appreciated his honesty. You were surprised by it and so was Spencer.
He wasn’t comfortable being so raw, so vulnerable. It made him feel exposed, as though his chest had been cut open and you were staring at his insides, watching the physical beat of his heart in his chest.
You shifted a little on the couch, unfolding your arms again so you could play with your hands in your lap.
“I uh…thanks I guess. For telling me the truth.” Your voice cracked a little.
Spencer moved closer to you, taking you by surprise. His large hands found your face and cupped your cheeks.
You felt yourself melt into his hold. Spencer’s skin on yours had a habit of doing that.
“I don’t know how I feel about my ex. But I do know how I feel about you.” He looked at you intensely, almost as though he was staring into your soul. “I never felt…when I first saw you…” he trailed off with a chuckle.
“Cat got your tongue, Doctor?” You smiled a little against his warm hands, feeling your previous anger towards him slowly dissipating.
“I have an IQ of one hundred and eighty seven but I swear when I look in your eyes it renders me dumb.” He exhaled to try and get his brain working. “I am infatuated by you. I have been since the first moment I laid eyes on you. I saw you that day on campus and I swear to god Y/N the whole world stopped turning for me. I have never in my life felt such a magnetic force pulling me towards someone.
There is something about you that just…it’s like my heart just stopped beating when my ex left and you were like the jolt of electricity that brought me back from the dead. I started to breathe again the moment I looked into your eyes. It’s like I’ve been sleepwalking through most of my life and now I’m wide awake and I…I…I am infatuated by you. Truly and utterly infatuated. So no, I don’t know how I feel about my ex but I damn sure know how I feel about you.”
His words had caused tears to well in your eyes. It was the most open he’d been with you, it was the most open he’d been with anyone in a long time.
Did it make you a complete idiot that you were falling for this? He’d admitted he didn’t know how he felt about his ex-wife, what if he realised somewhere down the line that he was still in love with her? What would that mean for you?
It was probably easier to walk away now. At least it should have been. But despite yourself you were already in too deep. Your feelings for Spencer had manifested at lightning speed and you were already hooked on him.
Chances were this would end in disaster. But wouldn’t it just be the most beautiful disaster?
“I’m not looking for a fling, Spencer. I’m not looking to just be a bit on the side while you resolve your feelings towards your ex. I’m not after something casual. And if you can only give me casual then I think it’s best if we-“ you were cut off suddenly when Spencer’s lips crashed against your own.
You whined a little, your lips parting and his tongue took the initiative to glide into your mouth.
He laid you back on the couch and held your face while he kissed you with bruising force. The passion laced in that kiss set your body aflame.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, keeping him close. He explored your mouth with a combination of desperation and intrigue.
The weight of his body pressed you into the couch and you felt him growing hard almost immediately. He rolled his hips against yours and you moaned against his lips.
You moved one hand down his chest towards his crotch and started stroking him through his pants.
He bucked against you, moaning into your mouth.
“Fuck.” He panted. “Fuck, we can’t.”
Reluctantly Spencer tore himself away from you, a part of his brain screaming at him to kiss you again.
He pulled himself off you and sat up, trying to ignore the throbbing in his pants.
“My daughters upstairs. I don’t want…I don’t want to be the dad that has sex while his daughter is right upstairs.” He put his head in his hands. “And also, it doesn’t exactly help my case of showing you I want something more if I try to get you into bed at every available opportunity.”
And as turned on and as frustrating as it was, your heart melted.
“Spence?” You whispered, shuffling closer to him and stroking the back of his neck.
“Hmm?” He uncovered his face again and looked at you.
“You’re an amazing father.” You placed a chaste kiss on his cheek.
“Thank you.” He choked a little.
“So this isn’t just a fling?” You nervously chewed your bottom lip, needing to hear him say it.
He leant forward and tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear.
“You could never be just a fling. I can’t promise you forever Y/N because I can’t even promise myself that. The only long term relationship I’ve ever had was with Maeve and that ended so terribly that I am terrified of letting myself be vulnerable again. But I want to try. And I can promise you I will give you my all. I will give you every piece of my heart that is still mine to give. But you have to understand that my heart isn’t necessarily whole anymore, but I want you to have all the shards that I still have.” His eyes filled with tears again.
“Ok.” You nodded with a small smile.
“Ok?” He frowned.
“Ok, I might consider letting you take me out again.”
“How about tomorrow?” The tears in his eyes seemed to vanish only to be replaced with a sparkle.
“I thought you had your daughter this weekend?”
“Me and my friend Jennifer were supposed to be taking the kids to the park tomorrow but she owes me a favour.”
“What are you suggesting, Doctor?”
“JJ and her husband can handle the three kids. And the dog. Tomorrow I want to take you out.”
“You really don’t have to.” You shook your head. “I don’t ever want to get in the way of you spending time with your kids.”
“I spend all my time with my kids.” He chuckled. “One Sunday isn’t the end of the world. And besides, with Daisy so angry at her mom I have no idea when I’ll have a free weekend again.”
“I have one stipulation.” You cocked a playful eyebrow.
“What’s that?” Spencer frowned a little.
“Bring the dog. I love dogs.” You smirked.
“Trust me, you won’t love this one.” Spencer laughed.
“Not the way you do, no.” You giggled, standing up from the couch. “But bring the dog.”
“You will regret that.” Spencer stood too and walked you towards the door.
“We’ll see.” You opened the door and hovered in the entrance way. “So, tomorrow?”
“Wild horses couldn’t keep me away.” Spencer leaned in and kissed you softly again.
But soft quickly turned passionate and he had to forcibly pull back before he got carried away.
“Goodnight, Doctor.” You laughed as you stepped onto the porch.
“Goodnight, Angel.” He smiled dopily as he watched you leave.
Daisy hid out of sight in the corridor, peeping through the crack in the living room door. She cradled Taco with her good arm.
She watched her dad close the door and lean back against it, a smile on his face bigger than any she’d seen on him for a while.
She didn’t need to read micro expressions to know her dad was actually happy.
It made Daisy smile too. She loved her dad and wanted him to be happy and she was smart enough to know he hadn’t really been happy since her mom left.
When Spencer moved away from the door and started shutting off the lights, she quickly and quietly scampered back upstairs and into bed before her dad realised she’d been spying on him.
She got curled up under her duvet with Taco under her arm just moments before the door reopened a crack and Spencer stuck his head inside.
She kept her eyes screwed tightly shut as her dad hovered in the doorway. After a few moments she heard him whisper, “sweet dreams, pumpkin. I love you.” And then the door closed again.
She opened her eyes and snuggled closer to the scruffy mutt.
“I love you too dad.” She whispered into the dark.
***
JJ was more than happy for Spencer to skip their park day and take Daisy with them, especially when she found out why.
Spencer however had a slight crisis of faith about the whole thing.
“Does it make me a terrible dad for palming off my daughter on you so I can spend time with a woman?” He fretted.
“Spence, you couldn’t be a terrible dad if you tried. It’s hard enough being a parent when there’s two of you. Being on your own and dating…you do what you have to do.” JJ tried to reassure him.
“I just…I don’t want to be like my dad.”
“Spencer,” JJ gripped his shoulder. “Your dad walked out on you. He just got up and left. You are having one day off, which rightfully should have been your day off anyway because Daisy was supposed to be with Maeve. You are absolutely nothing like your dad. Please stop worrying. Focus on Y/N. I’ve got this.”
God he didn’t know what he would do without JJ’s words of wisdom sometimes.
Still feeling a little guilty, he kissed his daughter goodbye and hopped in his car, along with Taco, and drove to Folger Park where the two of you were meeting.
He was a little late thanks to his crisis and you were waiting on a bench with coffees.
You lit up when you saw him approaching but it turned to a frown when you saw the hairy creature trailing behind him on a leash.
“That’s a dog?” You stared at it.
“I’m starting to become unsure of that myself.” He wrapped his free hand around you, cupping your lower back and placed a soft kiss on your lips.
“He looks like a Gremlin.” You crouched down to inspect him better.
“I thought about getting him groomed but I’m scared of what I might find under there.”
“He’s got a cute little face. His ears are too long.” You giggled, patting the mutt on the head.
Taco responded by giving you a happy little bark and then attacking your face with his tongue.
“He likes you. I think. I don’t know, I haven't figured him out yet.”
“I think he likes me. Do you like me, Taco?” You continued to fuss him and he kept licking you.
“Ok, ok, that’s enough. I’m the only one that gets to use tongue with her.” Spencer tugged the dog away from you before lifting him up and sitting down on the bench with Taco in his lap.
“Are you jealous, Doctor?” You sat next to him, handing him one of the coffees.
“Of a mangy dog? Hardly.” Spencer scoffed.
“You’re going to give him a complex if you keep talking about him like that.”
“It’s a good job he can’t understand a word I’m saying then.” Spencer chuckled.
“You like the dog.” You smiled in amusement.
“I do not. Stop saying that.” Spencer grumbled.
“The dog certainly likes you.”
“As he should, I saved him from near death.”
“You like the dog.” You laughed to yourself, sipping your coffee.
“Please can we stop focusing on the dog? Just pretend he isn’t here.”
“Maybe we should walk him.”
“As long as we don’t talk about him, I’m fine with that.” Spencer set Taco back on the ground and the two of you stood up.
You strolled through the park sipping coffee and basking in the pleasantly warm weather. Spring was approaching and flowers were starting to blossom, the smell of the pollen in the air. Trees were regrowing their leaves, lining the path you walked in a welcome shade.
Taco stopped to sniff every flower they passed and got skittish when other dogs tried to greet him.
Spencer lost count of the amount of times he had to tell dog owners, “he’s nervous. I think. He’s weird.”
You chatted between yourself comfortably when Taco wasn’t demanding attention. Once the coffees were finished and disposed of you continued to walk.
Spencer rolled his shirt sleeves up to his elbows as the sun's warmth started to beat down on him.
At one point your hands brushed against each other’s and it made Spencer jump a little although he wasn’t sure why. It was like static electricity had passed between you. One that sent shocks right to his heart.
When it happened a second time he took it as a sign and without looking to see your reaction, he threaded his fingers in yours.
You glanced over at him with a smile and held his hand tightly.
“Is it weird to say that this feels…normal?” Spencer asked as you walked.
“What do you mean?”
“It’s just…I don’t feel as though I’ve felt normal in a long time. Maybe ever in fact. But this, walking with you, hand in hand, even the dog…it just feels normal.” He shrugged.
“I’m glad.” You felt a small blush creep to your cheeks. “And it’s not weird. It does feel…normal.”
“And then we remember I have an ex-wife and two kids and really, this is far from normal?”
“Maybe.” You nodded. “Maybe it’s not normal. But it at least feels good.”
“It certainly does.” He gave your hand a squeeze. “Are you hungry?”
“Yeah, I guess.”
“I read about this place nearby called Barkhaus, it’s a bar-restaurant that welcomes dogs off leash, they even have an outdoor seating area with a fenced off dog park next to it. Seeing as we're hungry and you love dogs and I have a dog…”
“You love that freaking dog!” You giggled. “You researched places to take him!”
“I researched places to take you. And they had to accommodate dogs because you insisted I bring him.” He shook his head with a laugh.
“You are truly obsessed with this dog, you just don’t realise it yet. But yes, Barkhaus sounds perfect.”
“I will kick this dog in the face if it will prove to you I don’t like it.”
“You would not.” You rolled your eyes.
“No, you’re right I wouldn’t.” He laughed, tugging the leash in the new direction they were heading. “Come on Taco, let’s go make you some friends.”
***
The restaurant was only a few blocks away so the two of you continued your walk and left Spencer’s car near the park.
Barkhaus was an old industrial building and was very contemporarily decorated, with exposed brick walls and pipes decorating the ceiling. One wall was entirely covered in fake grass.
You got a table on the patio and Spencer coaxed Taco in the fenced off area where a couple of other much bigger, much more dog-looking dogs, were already playing.
The area had some wooden hurdles which the bigger dogs were having no trouble with but Taco was so small he just walked right under them.
The other dogs were curious about Taco, rightly so. They followed him around, sniffing him and watching his every move.
Taco didn’t seem like he much enjoyed the attention but Spencer hoped he’d ease into it. He really didn’t want to spend his afternoon worrying about the dog when he had more important things to focus on.
But he couldn’t help but be utterly fascinated by his stupid dog.
After a little while he heard you laugh and snapped his eyes away from Taco to see you watching him in amusement.
“You love that dog.” You giggled, picking up your menu as Spencer glared at you.
“I find him interesting.” He rolled his eyes, picking up his own menu. “I do not like him.”
“Hmm, sure.” You didn’t look up from the menu but he saw the smile on your lips.
You both ordered burgers and milkshakes while you watched Taco start to loosen up around the other dogs. It didn’t take long for him to start looking as though he was actually having a good time.
Spencer had moved his chair next to yours and slung his arm around your shoulders. You leant in close to him and threaded the fingers of his free hand with yours.
It felt natural. It was calming to have Spencer so close while you were wrapped in his protective hold, watching the strange creature grow accustomed to other dogs.
You sat like this until your food was brought over and you ate in companionable silence, Spencer glancing over his shoulder to check on Taco every few minutes.
Once you’d eaten, he sat back in his chair and sipped on his milkshake.
“So how would you feel about a weekend away?” He mused out loud.
“With you or in general?” You teased.
“Preferably with me.” He laughed around his straw. “My friend Rossi has a cabin near Lake Anna. It’s supposed to be incredibly romantic and I wondered if you might like to go with me?”
You felt yourself blushing and distracted yourself by taking a sip of your milkshake.
“What about Daisy? I thought she wasn’t keen on going to her moms right now?”
“Where there’s a will there’s a way.” He shrugged. “I’ll talk to her. She’s going to have to see her mom at some point. But if I can convince her to go…”
“I would love a weekend away with you.” You smiled brightly as Spencer reached across the table and took hold of your hand.
“Perfect. Great. I’ll call Rossi tomorrow and-”
“Reid?” A voice cut him off and he didn’t need to turn around to know who it belonged to.
He sighed, letting go of your hand and slowly turning, expecting to just see the person the voice belonged to but there were two people standing a few feet away, one of whom was holding a dog leash.
“OMGEE is it boy wonder!” Garcia screeched a little and was suddenly launching herself towards him while the voice he’d heard, belonging to Luke Alvez, hung back with Roxy.
Spencer pushed himself to his feet just in time to be swallowed in a bear hug by the bubbly tech analyst.
“What are you doing here?” She jiggled him a little before letting him go and her eyes landed on you. “Oh my gosh! Don’t tell me this is Y/N!”
You shyly stood and offered a small wave but then you too found yourself engulfed by the colourful woman’s arms.
“Uh…hi.” You giggled, wrapping your arms around the strangers neck in response.
“Spencer did not mention how utterly beautiful you are!” Garcia let you go but not before first squeezing your cheeks.
“Uh…I didn’t know Spencer had mentioned me at all.” You blushed a little, sidling up to him and he instinctively put a protective arm around you.
“Y/N, this is Penelope Garcia and Luke Alvez. I worked with them at the BAU.” Spencer offered up the introductions.
“And this is Roxy.” Luke pointed at his dog.
“She’s beautiful.” She smiled bashfully, sinking into Spencer’s hold.
“Thanks.” Luke smiled back at you. “I forgot you got a dog. This is the last place I expected to see you.”
“Yeah, he’s over there being weird or something.” Spencer motioned over his shoulder. “Are you two uh…”
“On a date.” Luke beamed brightly. “Yeah.”
“Oh wow, that’s great. I had no idea.”
“It’s early days.” Garcia nudged Luke’s shoulder with her own.
“We uh…haven’t told the team yet.” Luke added.
“My lips are sealed.” Spencer nodded in understanding. “Do you uh…want to join us? We’ve already eaten but we’re not in a rush, right?”
He glanced down at you and you looked back up at him and nodded.
For all your confidence, meeting Spencer’s friends had thrown you through a loop.
“Yeah sure, that would be great.” Luke agreed for both of them.
Spencer placed a gentle kiss on your forehead and let you go so he could procure two more chairs while you and Garcia slotted into the ones already at the table.
Luke deposited Roxy in the fenced off area and as if sensing Taco was Spencer’s dog, she padded right over to him.
And Taco didn’t shy away. He seemed to take an instant liking to Roxy which went against everything Spencer knew about his dog.
“Wow, look at him making friends.” you laughed a little, shuffling your chair closer to Spencer’s as you felt Penelope and Luke’s eyes on you.
“Roxy has a calm about her. People and dogs seem to pick up on her energy.” Luke smiled at you.
“I don’t want to talk about dogs.” Garcia leant forward on the table and you half thought she might lunge at you across it. “How did you meet our Mighty Professor?”
You looked from the brightly coloured blonde to Spencer as if you needed some kind of push.
He smiled at you in such a loving way, it helped in calming your nerves. His hand moved under the table and gently cupped your knee which helped even more.
“It was on my first day at Georgetown. I’m a TA and I got lost on my first day. Spencer showed me where I needed to go.” You felt him squeeze your knee encouragingly under the table.
“Like a knight in shining armour.” Garcia fawned.
“She wasn’t a damsel in distress, Garcia. I simply showed her the way to the psychology building.” Spencer chuckled at his friends over enthusiastic nature.
“Don’t downplay yourself, Reid.” She scolded him slightly.
“Yeah, don’t downplay yourself.” You giggled giving him a sideways glance.
“Have you met his kids?” Luke asked now.
“Oh no,” you shook your head. “We’ve only just started dating.”
Spencer swallowed, shrinking down in his chair a little but no one seemed to notice.
He hadn’t even considered that. He hadn’t thought that dating someone would eventually lead to them meeting his girls.
After the way Maeve had hurt them, he wasn’t exactly keen on letting another woman close to his daughters.
“They’re the cutest! You will adore them!” Garcia squealed a little, getting animated as she started talking about her nieces.
You glanced at Spencer who looked suddenly pale. His body was a little stiff and his hand on your knee had gone limp.
It was obvious only to you why that was.
He didn’t join in the conversation much after that and left you to be grilled by Garcia and Luke.
Eventually sensing they probably wanted to eat and enjoy their date and realising he needed to get back for Daisy, Spencer drew their lunch to a close.
After collecting Taco from where he was playing with Roxy, the three of you walked back to Spencer’s car in stilted silence.
You knew exactly why he was acting this way but you had no idea how to broach the subject.
When you reached his car and you both slipped inside, Taco settling onto your lap in the passenger's seat, you finally decided to say something.
“You know I’m not expecting to meet your kids right?” You spoke up as he was jabbing the key in the ignition.
He exhaled loudly and slowly turned to look at you.
“I never even thought about it.” He frowned. “This whole thing with you happened so suddenly that I never considered that dating meant the possibility of someone being introduced to my girls one day. And if I’m being perfectly honest with you, that scares me more than anything.”
You smiled sympathetically at him and reached out to take hold of his hand that was clutched around the steering wheel.
“Spence, we’ve just started dating, neither of us is ready to get your kids involved in our relationship. We just have to take things a step at a time. Day by day. But I guess one day, if things were to get serious then I would probably have to meet them. But that’s a bridge we cross if and when we come to it, ok?” You brushed your thumb over his knuckles to try and sooth him.
He nodded briskly but he was still frowning slightly.
“Yeah. Yeah, I guess. I’m sorry, this is just all so new to me. Dating and being a dad, you know?” He exhaled again.
“It's new to me too, I’ve never dated someone with kids before.” You chuckled, bringing his hand to your lips so you could lightly kiss his knuckles. “We’ll puzzle it out together, ok? But in the meantime, I remember there being talks of a weekend away?”
A bright smile suddenly broke out on his features, reaching up to his eyes.
“I’ll speak to Rossi tomorrow.” He returned the favour and kissed the back of your hand too before surprising everyone when he patted Taco’s head completely unprovoked.
“Sounds good.” you agreed as he let go of your hand and started the engine.
As he pulled away, you saw him glance at the dog a few times before speaking again.
“But the dog stays home. He’s a real mood killer.”
You couldn’t help but laugh and muss the dog’s scruffy head.
“Whatever you say, Doctor. Whatever you say.”

Out Of The Woods, 6 (ls2)
Logan and Dhanishka finally have the necessary breakthrough, Olivia delivers some bad news that Dhanishka already has a backup plan for. Logan just has a really good time at the end.
warnings/notes: panic attack in the beginning, mentions of alcohol, i don’t really think much else? ok i KNOW viscaal is an actual dude but like. i forgot. so just imagine he has a brother or smthn idk. bit shorter but hey. this is for logan bc fuck williams man
-
“Isa!”
I, despite my best efforts, cannot get a solid breath in. Someone's hands are on my face, trying to rouse me from whatever's got my eyes squeezed shut. I gasp again and they're brushing tears off of my cheeks. When I hold my breath, choking on an inhale, the voice is panicked, telling me to breathe. Then blowing a gust of air on my face.
Somehow the air is what snaps my eyes open.
"Christ, Isa." Logan's saying, holding a phone to his ear as he presses my hair down with one hand, "hey, hey, it's okay..."
"Lo-Logan?" I rasp and he nods, a tiny, worried smile crossing his face as he turns to the phone and speaks in a hushed tone.
"I've got her, thanks Anya. I'll text you when I get her in bed."
When he puts his phone down, he hands me a water bottle but holds the bottom of it as I take small slow sips and try not to burst into tears yet again. He doesn't say anything, not even when I lower my hand from where it's been resting over his thudding heart.
"You called my sister?" I ask and he pauses, before nodding.
"Yeah. I figured Anya would know how to help you out of a panic attack." He says and I nearly choke on my water.
"I had a panic attack?" I ask and he stills, before he is everything around me. His hands are gentle, tucking me against his chest, one hand carding through my hair as the other holds me tight.
“Oh, Isa—“ He murmurs into my hair. I whisper out confusion, I had a panic attack? I never have panic attacks? Is that why I blacked out? When did he get here?
“Oh, Isa, I’m so sorry they’ve turned you into me.” Logan presses his hands to either side of my face, lifting me back so I can look at him. I remember how a week ago I was afraid of loving him, how I was terrified I'd lose him, and yet here he was as stubborn and comforting as always. As he had been in China. As he had been in Miami. As he now was in Imola.
"I can't do this Logan." I hiccup, letting him bring me into his arms once more, kisses trailing my forehead as he keeps me locked in tight, "I can't take another day of this comparing bullshit! They hate me, all of them in Ferrari. I don't even know if I still have Charles, and they keep pushing and pushing and I just wanna be good!"
"You are good. You are so good." He murmurs, "You're doing better than I did my first season. I had panic attacks almost every race, I still have them sometimes."
When I look at him in disbelief he sighs, "the difference between us is that you have Ferrari and I have Williams. Alex and I are actually cared for within Williams. They care about our health, our wellbeing. Ferrari always has and always will put you below Charles because he's the predestined or whatever. It's stupid. It's what drove Carlos out according to Oscar, who heard it from Lando so who knows--but my point still stands."
I sniffle, nodding, wiping at my face and huffing when I realize I had cried. Logan convinces me to swap seats with him, and he drives us back to the hotel. He follows the same procedures as he had with my migraine and we settle in to watch Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara-- one of my favorite Bollywood movies I'd forced him to watch with me before. Surprisingly, he remembers a lot of it and then embarrassedly admits,
"We watched it on your birthday every year, I kept up the tradition. Even though Dalton thought it was stupid I did that."
I can't help but kiss him then, fully of my own decision and his hands comes to my waist as he pulls me down to slot against him. I throw my right leg over when he bites my lip, groaning in the back of my throat. The Señorita scene is playing from his laptop, Hrithik Roshan is dancing his heart out, Logan's lips are soft against mine.
He pulls back.
"What are we doing?" He whispers, pausing Netflix by closing his laptop and leaving us in the soft ambient glow of Imola from the half curtained windows.
"What do you mean?" I say, because I know theres more weight behind his words. He just laughs when I press a kiss to his forehead, his arm secure around my waist like he never wants to let me go. I don't want him to.
"Do you love me?" Its so vulnerable it makes me stop and he brings his hand to my throat, but just to dance his finger tips along the side of my jaw until he takes my chin in his hand and pull me a bit closer.
"Because I've always loved you in the way soulmates love each other, but I think you love me like I'm just a casual fuck."
"If you always loved me like that why'd you break up with me?" I ask and Logan sighs, letting go of my chin to place his hand on one of my thighs, the right one I had thrown over his torso when the kisses got a bit more than playful.
Logan takes a long moment to answer, like he's picking each word with the upmost care, but he just says, "I was scared."
"Scared?"
"Of you. Of racing. Of everything." He sighs and I go to slide off his lap when his fingers dig in, keeping me rooted in my seat. Just like earlier, when he was calming me in the car, just like when he had eased my migraine. He needed me.
I card my hands through his hair, being them to his shoulders and smooth the tenseness I can feel. He closes his eyes, leaning his head back as he just lets everything finally break and he hands my his heart once more.
This time, I cradle it to my chest, trying to heal it while his heart tries to smooth out the sharp edges of mine.
"I had been doing so well. I had everything in my finger tips, just within reach and then... fucking Trident rips it out from underneath my feet. I didn't know what to do, and as far as I was concerned, you were just as guilty as everyone else. I... I needed control."
I had been right when I guessed that?
"And control was breaking up with me because it was a decision you could make without having to consult anyone else?" I say and he nods.
"I regretted it every day after. There were so many times my mom had to stop Dalton from calling you or Anya." A light smile crosses his lips and I giggle, taking the hint of his slight pursed lips to press a gentle kiss to them.
"Anya was so mad at you when we broke up, she told me she was gonna go to BWT and cut your brakes." I murmur against his lips and he starts to laugh, his hands slide up to rest along my ribs as he smiles against my lips and innocent pecks.
"I wouldn't have been mad if she had. I beat myself up over it for weeks." Logan shrugged, "but uhm... I talked with Viscaal last week. He was at the race for some sponsorship thing and he stopped to congratulate me on my placement. I asked him of you were involved and he and I talked about the crash for a long time."
"And?"
"And he convinced me you weren't."
The conversation hadn't been easy. Viscaal was sort of up in arms about the idea of even discussing it with Logan, but once let in on the PR nightmare the two were going through... he relented. But he wasn't easy on Logan, he hadn't been the whole time they stood in the blistering sun over the track.
"She literally was inconsolable, how do you think she had anything to do with it?" James Viscaal had said to Logan, eyes narrowing underneath his Formula E cap, "You seriously think Dubey had anything to do with it? She'd rather hurt herself than hurt you."
"I just... I can't shake the feeling--"
"Well you better figure out how, Sargeant, or you're gonna lose a perfectly good girl."
Logan sighs as he replays the conversation two or three times, then gnaws the inside of his lip before saying, "Sorry for saying that shit to you, about not trusting you... it was childish."
"I said stupid shit too, I'm sorry." I say and he presses a more firm kiss to my lips.
"Consider that an apology accepted." He says and I smile,
"Guess I'll have to keep apologizing--" I'm cut off when he sits up abruptly, pulling me to his chest just to lay me on my back under him as he cages me beneath him.
My phone vibrates. A few missed calls from Charles. I ignore him in favor of kissing my boyfriend.
I'll tell him I was sleeping.

Monaco is the race for publicity. Everyone knew Monaco, and if they didn't, they just didn't know it was called Monaco. I'm snuck into Williams the day before practice, when it's mostly just vendors setting up and some meetings happening in each paddock. I'm led by Logan to a back office, where I meet with two women, and JAmes Vowles.
Who... is sitting in on the PR meeting for some reason?
The woman who leads Logan's PR is named Astrid Marina, and while I fight to figure out while that name is familiar, Logan idly pokes at my leg. I look over to read what he's showing me and groan internally.
'Ferrari and Williams in talks over suing Sky News reporter Anthony Davis for blackmailing and harassment.'
"Too much is happening this season, I don't even wanna bother." I complain and Logan nods, coaxing me to rest against him as I yawn. It's been a long week of harrowing, exhausting training with Charles. Ferrari gives me no reprieve and as I work to show them I am a capable driver, they still beat me down. Still say Charles is better. It's grown to be annoying for both me and the Monegasque, and something we bond over now in the late hours between a bottle of wine.
"How has your season been with Ferrari so far, Dhanishka?" James asks and I give him a cordial answer that has him raising an eyebrow in question as he says, "Logan's told me otherwise."
I whack Logan's arm, making the Floridian laugh as he raises his hands in defense of his actions. Something in James' eyes tells me it’s alright to say, so I do.
"It's been a terrible time if I'm honest," I sigh, "Charles is praised, I'm ignored and blamed for every mistake, they barely talk to me on radios so I kinda have to figure it all out myself, I'm hardly given real strategy and kinda just make it up myself as I go."
"And with all of that you still place in the top ten every race, and have podiumed twice. That's an incredible feat, Miss Dubey, you should be very proud of yourself."
Somehow, James saying that to me makes it all click that, yeah, it was an incredible feat.
"Alright, Jasmine is here so lets get started." Astrid settles in her seat in front of us and Logan and I sit back up from our lazing positions as Jasmine--my PR manager of several years, takes her own seat next to Astrid. James leans back in his seat as well, taking on a more observing role to this. I wonder if its because he's worried about this, or if Olivia and Lando have told him to keep an eye on it. Not that they knew who Logan's manager was, as far as I was aware.
Jasmine shuffles her papers a bit before asking, "How are you both feeling? You're almost tied for points this season."
"Feeling pretty optimistic." Logan smiles softly in greeting to her, "The car has been preforming well and I've been doing better than where I started last year."
"I'd be a lot better is my damn car worked half the time." I mutter in complaint, making Logan laugh softly as he squeezes my knee.
"I'm glad you both are feeling better." Astrid smiles, "but lets not take up too much time here for small talk, you both have busy days tomorrow."
Yay. Qualifying.
"Dhanishka, social media is your forte here. Keep posting, keep promoting the relationship. You've been doing a fine job with that. Public appearances have been fine, though I've noticed a bit of tension? Is there anything we want to confirm or ask about..?"
"How long is this going on for?" Logan asks and I feel a weird pain settle in my chest. Why did he care?
"Uhm... well..." Jasmine hums, "I'd say you guys can decide when to call it off. Astrid wanted to make sure that, unlike with Lando and Olivia previously, you both have complete control of this situation."
"Oh, Dhanishka, work on befriending some of the WAGs. I know you and Olivia are decently close, but befriending the Lily's or even Carmen would be a good look." Astrid says and I nod, opening my phone to follow them on Instagram. I was already close with Lily Zneimer, she just needed to come to a race other than Australia.
"Logan, we need you to start posting Dhanishka as well." Astrid says and Jasmine nods softly, looking like she's a bit uncomfortable by how strict Astrid is being.
"Yeah, got it." Logan nods. Theres a few more formalities, some publicity things they want us to do and a joint 'couples trivia' gave they want us to play with a bunch of the drivers before the next race on the calendar.
We're dismissed with the promise of posting each other more on social media.
"Lets go to dinner tonight." He says, taking my hand in his and kissing the back of it. I smile and bump his shoulder with mine.
"Alright." I smile, its easy to be in love with Logan and he threads out fingers together and presses a soft kiss to the back of my hand.
Before I can leave though, James speaks, "Jasmine, Dhanishka, can we speak privately? I have Dhanishka's manager Lucille inside my office already.
And I nod, and follow James into his office after a quick goodbye kiss from Logan with his playful grin to match.

I'm walking through the apartment building Lando had sent me the address for ages ago. Logan's hand is firmly tucked in mine as he idly talks about the desserts we'd brought for the little dinner we're all having tonight. Olivia had invited over quite a few people, her family (consisting of Oscar and Lily, Ophelia and her wife Rosalind, and Oaklynn), Lando's siblings, (sisters Cisca and Flo, brother Oliver with his wife Savannah and their daughters Mila and Athena), Max, Kelly, and Penelope, Alex and Lily, Charles, and me and Logan. It was some sort of dinner party, and due to Logan's training running a bit long we were late.
Which, wasn't surprising.
Olivia said they'd be out on the balcony, so we let ourselves into the spacious apartment. Logan helping me with my shoes while I joke about balancing the three plates, but Charles cursing in Italian sharply makes us both freeze.
"Relax." Olivia scolds, almost like a mother, "she's gonna be fine, I've been in talks with multiple teams and--"
"They're just dropping her?! For Lewis? She's been beating him every damn race save for Australia!" Charles all but roars and I can hear the balcony door slam. Logan tenses, his jaw setting firmly and he tries to coax me back outside but I'm stubborn, I won't move until I know whats wrong. But I have a gut feeling I already know.
"Charles, calm down," Olivia tries again and then there's an overlap of a few voices I can't fight through.
"It's nothing set in stone! Relax!" Max's voice chimes above everyone else's and the room quiets as a soft sigh escapes Logan's mouth. He draws his arm across my back and hushes me softly, pressing a kiss to my hairline.
"Checo's moving to Formula E. I'm taking his spot next season, or I'll go to RB if they choose to move Daniel instead." Alex says softly, "which means Red Bull is set for next season regardless. Mercedes is taking Carlos to race with George, so they're set as well."
"McLaren's got me and Lando, so they're set. Neither Haas or Aston Martin are gonna change." Oscar sighs, "safe bet that Alpine and Sauber will stay the same too."
Max asks, "Is Logan staying with Williams?"
"Can we stop talking about this, they'll be here soon. Dhanishka doesn't even know yet." Olivia complains, "I don't know why you're all so surprised when Ferrari's been treating her like shit! They could care less if she's dead or alive on that track as long as Charles comes out on top. Plus, the FIA is going to investigate them for malpractice."
"Oh, actually?" Lando hums and I hear Charles confirm, and I bury my head against Logan's chest where I can hear his heart pounding. I'm trying to fight back the sense of dread forming in my gut.
"I know Logan's been trying to get her to talk with James." Alex says softly, "As far as I'm aware, Williams is resigning him with the second seat open."
Logan's grip tightens when he realizes I've figured it out and I push past him to enter the main room of the Piastri-Norris apartment. The warm Monaco air feels unwelcome as it floats in from the open balcony door where I can see the kids are being preoccupied from the inside argument. But inside, all the drivers plus Olivia stare at me like I'm not supposed to be there. And then theres movement and--
"Dhaniska!" Olivia's voice chimes and the Aussie to wrap me up tight in her arms, "Oh, honey."
"They're dropping me?" I hate the way my voice sounds so broken and despite what I want, Olivia nods.
"Last week I got both Daniel's and Alex's data from last season to sift through to help the Red Bull team figure out which driver we want next season." She starts to explain, running her fingers through my hair, "I knew some big changes were happening when we also got files for Lewis and Fernando. But.. Lewis just announced he was racing with Ferrari next season, while Charles was here. No one knew except Lewis and Vasseur. I-I can try and get you with some other teams but--"
"Olivia, I love you truly, but that's not your job." I say softly, squeezing her forearms, "A-and besides, I... I might've made a contingency plan."
The whole room pauses.
"Huh?" Logan says, tightening his grip on my wrist and I laugh. It's so stupid, how he thought his and Alex's little plan to have me replace the latter Thai driver would've gone overlooked by James. Who bit down at the chance to have me.
James pulled me and Jasmine into his office, my manager Lucie already inside. When I give a confused look, both women are motioning for me to sit in the middle of three chairs. Lucie on my left, Jasmine on my right. When I do, James takes a seat at his desk and hands me a file in the beautiful William's blue. The logo stamped on front, with words written under that make my heart pause.
'DUBEY CONTRACT DRAFT 1 - 2025'
"Dhanishka." Lucie starts, placing a reassuring hand on my knee as she sets down an identical folder, "Ferrari isn't going to renew your contract next year. I've known since Miami. Lewis is coming to race for them instead, which I thought I'd be more surprised about, but it is close to his retirement I suppose."
"He did always say he'd retire in a Ferrari." James nods, and the conversation continues, still led by Lucie.
"So, I've been in talks with almost every team--thanks to Olivia, who has an almost... deus ex machina power within F1. She got me write up contracts from Mercedes, Alpine, RB, and Stake... but they've all backed out."
James, taking this as his cue, sits forward, "Williams is going to need a driver next year. Alex is moving to one of the Red Bull teams. We'll be resigning Logan."
"Me?" I ask, "you seriously want me? The girl who almost destroyed one of your drivers PR?"
"PR is repairable," James waves a hand, "Your skill on the track is something I can relate to a young Alonso or even someone like Senna or Vettel. It's talent like yours, Charles' and Max's we wont get again soon. To podium on your first race, to stay consistently in the top ten with no support? That's unheard of."
"Williams is offering a three year contract." Lucie says and I finally thumb open the folder and stare down at it. The weight of it all becomes real when I see it all printed out.
James stands to leave as he says, "I'll leave you to speak in private."
So I can’t hide my smile as I announce, "You are looking at the second seat for Williams in 2025!"
I don’t think in my time of knowing Logan had he ever hugged me as tight as this. I can’t help but laugh as his chest presses to my back, his lips finding my cheek and undoubtedly smudging my makeup. I can’t find it in me to care.
Alex decides to make a show of giving me his seat (which includes him physically handing me a chair) and when I turn to hug Olivia and Lando in celebration, Olivia whispers to me, “I knew you guys would figure it out.”
Charles just about squeezes the life out of me with his hug, thanking me for driving with him, and I thank him for teaching me. I know later on we’ll have a more in depth conversation but for now he allows me to celebrate with Logan’s arm tucked firmly around my waist.
Kelly ends up pouring us all shots to celebrate, and when I smidge my lipstick drinking various glasses of champagne and other drinks, Logan fishes my compact and my lipstick out of my purse.
It feels full circle to have him hold the mirror while I fix myself up.

“Ferrari was a dream, but the reality of Ferrari is that we are not compatible. I will continue to give my best performance for the team, wish them the best of luck next season, and send my love to the tifosi. Thank you for welcoming me.” - Dubey via Twitter this morning.

A Pleasant Ruse
Fandom: Supergirl
Characters: Kara Danvers, Lena Luthor, Andrea Rojas, Alex Danvers, Winn Schott
Summary: Lena runs into her ex-Andrea who wants her back. Lena panics and tells her that Kara is her girlfriend. Will Kara be willing to help Lena keep up the ruse?
Lena looked at her phone and sighed as she walked down the street. L-Corp stock was down again after Lex’s latest stunt against Superman. The Board was at each other’s throats about what to do. Normally, these things didn’t get to her, but today she just felt like curling into a little ball and hiding in the middle of nowhere.
“Sometimes I wish I could go somewhere where no one knew my name,” muttered Lena.
Normally, she would wallow in her apartment and drink the night away, but she knew she didn’t have to do that anymore, especially with Kara and her friends. She blushed when she thought of Kara. Every time she smiled, it would light up the room. She was hoping a little of that light would rub off on her today. When she called Kara an hour ago, she was happy that she was available to talk but was wondering if Lena would be able to do so at Noonan’s. She was saving seats for some of the others in their friend group. Lena would rather they be alone, but she realized that she did call Kara out of the blue without necessarily considering her current plans. Also, her curiosity was piqued. Noonan’s wasn’t normally opened passed 10 p.m. during the week. However, it was currently 10:39 p.m.
After five more minutes, she began to see the outline of Noonan’s but was surprised to see not only was the place lit up, but there were multiple cars parked down the block. As she got closer, she noticed that the place was packed. It was more crowded than the morning rush. When she got inside, Lena looked around the crowded room and smiled when she saw Kara hopping up and down waving at her from the back. She shook her head and tried to maneuver her way towards Kara.
As she got closer, she nearly stopped and blushed. Lena didn’t notice before because she could only see Kara’s face and arms when she was at the front of the restaurant, but now that she was in front of the blonde, she was surprised at what she was wearing. She had on a green short-sleeved crop top, black short shorts, and brown hiking shoes. Her hair was flowing down her back. The entire outfit highlighted Kara’s muscular form. Kara usually wore things that covered her fully. She didn’t realize that Kara had a hardcore twelve-pack abs, and toned legs and arms. She gulped when Kara hugged her tightly. She could feel the heat in her face growing. Lena had to fight to keep her arms next to her instead of caressing her abs.
“Lena, I am glad that you were able to come out!” exclaimed Kara excitedly.
“Me too,” squeaked Lena.
As they went to sit down, Kara stared at her with a frown.
“Are you ok? Your face looks a little flushed and you are panting.”
Lena tried to seem unfazed but felt like her brain was in overdrive.
She started fanning herself and shakily said, “I’m, um, fine. Yes, I am fine.”
Kara stared at her hesitantly and said, “You don’t seem so sure.”
Lena let out a nervous laugh and said, “Don’t worry. I just got winded trying to get back here. I don’t think I have ever seen this place so packed before, even during their morning rushes.”
“Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that they are having an event here tonight. You know the author Helena Bromfield?”
Lena nodded and said, “Ah, yes! She has a bunch of popular action books.”
“Yup! That is the one. Well, she is having a book reading for her latest novel: Alana and the Lost Civilization of Atlantis at midnight tonight. She will then host a Q&A followed by a book signing. That is why a lot of the people here are in costume.”
Lena looked around and felt a little foolish. She had been so focused on seeing Kara that she didn’t notice the outfits everyone was wearing. They all looked like they were out of some archeological action movie. Lena shook her head and stared back at Kara.
“I never took you as one that was into cosplaying. You look very good as Alana.”
Lena felt her face flushed again and looked down.
Good doesn’t begin to describe it. She looks sexy as hell.
Lena had to slowly breathe in and out to try to control her racing heart. Lena had secretly been a fan of Bromfield’s work. Her mother always disapproved of sci-fi and fantasy. Her thoughts were living in reality was more important than make-believe. However, the books offered her a brief escape from all the trauma of that household, mostly done by Lex. She would imagine going on an adventure with the Great Alana as she explored distant worlds and planets. She recently had been fantasizing about Kara as Alana and whisking her off on an amazing adventure. The thought caused her to blush harder.
Can’t believe I get to live out part of my fantasy!
Kara chuckled while rubbing the back of her neck and said, “Thanks! I wasn’t sure if I could pull this off.”
Lena stared at her dumbfounded.
She thinks she couldn’t pull it off! She looks ten times better than the initial character description for Alana. I am surprised that guys and girls aren’t flocking to her now!
Lena cleared her throat and said, “You pull off the look amazingly. I’m surprised the other people cosplaying as Alana don’t look at you with envy.”
Kara blushed while laughing.
“You are too kind.”
They looked at each other shyly for a moment before Lena asked, “If the book reading doesn’t start until midnight, why are people here so early?”
“Good seating. Alex made me promise to get here at 9 to save seating for her and Winn since they wouldn’t be able to get here until after 11. I got here at 10, and I had to fight people in order to get this booth since it was so packed.”
Lena chuckled which caused Kara to frown.
“What’s so funny?” pouted Kara.
“I didn’t mean to laugh. It is just that I wished I had gotten here sooner to see you try to defend your territory.”
Kara chuckled and said, “It didn’t get nearly as dramatic as that. I just gave a very stern look until they backed off.”
Lena raised an eyebrow and said coyly, “Really? A stern look?”

THANK YOU FOR THIS!! I love this man so much he’s perfect material❤️👄❤️
I really hope this seems accurate and to your liking <3
//~Kyle “Gaz” Garrick hcs~//
Tumblr media
A/N: I was working on this a while ago I just forgot about it. Glad I could add the stuff I needed🥹 Currently in the process of more hcs, I’ll definitely post Alejandro or Soap depending on how much I write the this week. I’ll also be doing a little König oneshot because I love bae
Enjoy!!😍✨
Contains: Fluff, 18+, mentions of sex, little angst, just genuine hcs
Minors watch yourselves!!

• Ok Gaz definitely fell for you when he first saw you. Love at first sight is what it was oh yes
• I see him as a dog person. Will randomly pet dogs on the street or bring a puppy in the house😭
• HE IS VERY SMART! Definitely was an honor student. He knows literally every subject he was ever taught in school
•When he comes home to you and you’re awake he’ll pick you up and you wrap your legs around his waist then he pulls you in for a kiss.
• If you’re asleep he’ll silently put his duffle bag in the living room and walks into your shared bedroom watching your sleeping form.
• “I’m home love…” he whispers sweet nothings into your ear and kisses your forehead then leaves the room to shower
• You go car cruising together at night in the city lights with any nice song playing. Most likely Passionfruit by Drake or some Weeknd
• Sometimes you wake up in the middle of the night and see his side of the bed is empty. You got confused a bit but when you walked into the living room to look for him, he was laying on the couch watching the recording of the basketball game he missed while he was out
• He just looks at you for like 5 seconds and gives you a playful smile “You wanna watch with me love?” Why the hell not🤷‍♀️
• You lay on top of him under the blanket and watch the game literally at like 2 am
• Arguments are rare. But when you do just prepare for some heartbreak
•If you have tears streaming down your cheeks he might release some too
•He’ll pull you into him and apologize while kissing the top of your head.
• When it comes to comfort, you’re both there for each other. When you cry he’ll hold you. “It’s alright, you’re ok love...”
• Some nightmares here and there sometimes. You’ll talk to him until he feels better and he hugs you.
• Now this may be odd. But no matter how late it is he’ll take you to the living room and have jazz music playing in the background while he slow dances with you.
• Price knows about you so he treats you really well. Really good friends actually
• Ghost would probably be casual about it. He knew about you when he and Gaz were taking out some enemies and they just talked to pass time.
• “Bloody Jesus, Gaz you really did a number on em mate.” Gaz loaded his gun again before turning to Ghost. “Yea, just wanna finish quick so I can get back home to my birdy.”
• Now Ghost was oddly curious. He turns to Gaz “You got yourself a lass huh? That’s nice mate” Gaz and Ghost turn back to the enemy soldiers, “yea…it is nice” he has a smile on his face
• Soap also finds out eventually and just spits out questions about you. Ghost slapped the back of his head so he could leave Gaz alone. Good job Ghost
• The 18+ now ong
• 🎶Sex, money, feelings dieeeee🎶
• Soft dom definitely
• Will never pressure you until you’re ready
• When you do, he knows how to use his voice👁👄👁
• Focuses on both of your experiences when he’s inside of you and whispers ‘I love you’ so many times
• holds your hands very tight like you could slip away from him
• Will indeed look after you well. Kissing you and in the bath he probably plays around with the bubbles to make you laugh🌹🥹
• ONG BUYS YOU STARBUCKS!!!😭😭
• Literally if you’re shopping and you come across it you just tug on his sleeve and you point at it. He’ll smile at how cute you look like a child and will buy whatever drink you want
• Little pillow fights, might’ve ripped a pillow once and feathers were everywhere in the room but you’re both laughing too much
• He literally has you pinned to the floor sometimes playfully and you caress his cheeks smiling at each other and you lean up to kiss him.
• Gaz is just a sensual, loving, amazing partner in my eyes.
• Would do absolutely anything for you

Tanner is getting on my god damn nerves. Last night, I spent the night alone in my apartment and dressed for a date that did not happen. Every text and call I send him I get no answer. I can't tell if I'm supposed to be upset, worried, or pissed off but somehow I'm feeling all three.
For context, we've had this date planned for a couple of weeks. It's already been postponed due to my job or random things Nick asks him to do. And after 3 weeks, we finally both had a free day to have a simple and good date.
15 missed calls, 50+ texts, and 10 hours later I just parked my car in front of Tanner's house. I've gotta calm down. It could've been a mistake, a stupid mistake at that but we all mistakes. No what am I thinking, he deserves to get yelled at. So many thoughts are going through my head. At one point I'm pissed off, but on the other I don't know what happened.
I grab my shit, locking my car behind me, and walk up to the front door. Giggling at the "gay" welcome mat, I ring the door bell... no answer. Okay? I'll just ring it again... no answer again. What is going on? Nick's room is right here, at least he should be able to hear it.
I'm calling Nick.
"Hello?" He picks up the phone.
"Hey Nick, I'm outside. Can you let me in?"
"Yeah sure, one sec" He hangs up. A couple of seconds later, the door opens. A simple "thanks" comes out my mouth all muffled as I shove past Nick to walk towards Tanner's room. Isaac sitting on the couch, looks up and let's me know Tanner's still asleep. Great. Just great... I don't want to wake him up in a bad mood.
Whatever. He deserves it. I need to know what happened. I slam open his door to see him laying in bed sound asleep, with alcohol bottles covering his desk and his sweatpants on the floor next to the bed. His room's a mess, well when isn't it really? The only time its considered to be clean is when you clean it.
He must've heard the door open, cus he slowly wakes up and turns over to see me standing in his room.
"Baby, w-what are you doing here?" he asks so innocently.
"What am I doing here?? I should be asking what you're doing here?" I'm basically yelling.
"What do you mean?"
"What do I mean?!? What do I- uh. I can't with you. We had a date planned for last night!"
"Wha- OH!! Baby, baby please come here. Please come here I'm so sorry."
'No- No absolutely not. What did you do last night? Tell me."
"I-I was drinking with Isaac and Yumi. We played that stupid truck sim game and streamed. Then I just drank and watched anime until I passed out I guess." He admits. What. The. Fuck. I must've said that out loud cus Tanner immediately started to apologize again, "I'm so sorry baby, I completely forgot. Please let me make it up to you".
"No, I'm going home. You better find a way to make this better" I say as I walk out his room and closing the door behind me. The guys must've heard it all happen, cus I could feel Isaac and Nick staring at me as I walk out the front door. I didn't say a word, I just kept my head low and kept walking towards my car. Once I got in my car I just needed to scream.
FUCK.
Okay, that's a little bit better.
-
I got home and immediately turned my phone completely off, tossing it on my night stand and not looking back. I just need to do something else, get my mind off of what just happened. I need a drink. I grab some alcohol from the mini fridge I keep next to my desk. It's a vodka kind of day.
5 shots in...
10 shots in...
20 gulps in...
fuuuck. maybe i should've stopped like 20 sips ago. were those even considered sips? they were too big to be sips. my brain is fuzzzzyyy.
i gottta admiT what i said to Tanner was fuckked up, but i don't mean any of it. I should text him. N-NO!! I'm not texting him.
But I miss him, no I dont. fuck im crying now. ok this is happeninggg. I need to lay down. go lay on the bed. okay. im on the bed now.
knock knock knock
what. what the fuck was what.
knock knock knock
there it is again. am i dying? fuck. is that god? it's getting louder
knock knock knock
oh wait. its my frontt dooor. silly me. i'll go open it. come on body get up. one steep at a time.
"Baby. You scared me." oohhhh iits tanner.
"H-H-Heeeeeeeyyyy Taaaannnerrrrr" wait no i'm mad at him. actually, i'm just falling, oh shit.
"Oh my god, let's get you in bed. Come on" heee says while catching me, he's so strongg. i can feel his muscles, oh my god.
im laying down now. in my bed, i don't remember getting here. oh yeah Tanner.
"Y-Youu, youung sir, you neeed to leave" i slur outt, hehe.
"I'm not leaving you like this"
"Buuut. I'm mad at you a-a-and so you need to leave."
"Just go to-"
-
I woke up in pajama's and a massive headache. What the-
"Are you okay?" Oh. I remember now. I shake my head yes and sit up to see Tanner sitting on the foot of my bed. God, I'm regretting a lot of shit now.
"Baby... I'm so sorry. Can we talk about this? I need to apologize a lot." He says, so quiet it's basically a whisper. He looks up at me meeting my eyes. Was he.. crying? His eyes were all puffy and his hair was all messed up.
"Look, I fucked up. I know I did. But, baby, please forgive me for it. This is the first date I've missed in the forever the fuck long we've been dating. You didn't deserve that. You don't deserve that. I tried to think of all the things I could buy you, or do for you, to make up. But truthfully, the best option was being here for you and letting you know I care.
"I know you don't want to hear this right now, but I love you. I love you so fucking much. At the end of the day, I would choose you over anybody. Please, baby, just forgive me so I can forgive myself." Tanner whispers, a few tear leaving his eyes.
"It's sad, the first thought I had is that you were cheating on me. Then I thought you died, or just decided you hated me. I spent all of last night on the couch crying in the outfit I would've worn. I'm sorry I yelled at you, I just let my emotions get the best of me. You just... You really scared me. I thought I lost you." I confess. I can't make eye contact with him. I close my eyes as streams of tears run down my face and onto the pillow I've been holding. I feel the bed shift and I think Tanner got up and walked away, but suddenly I feel a pair of arms wrap around me.
-
For the past 30 minutes Tanner and I have been doing the 3 C's: cuddling, crying, and comforting.
"Relationships are hard" I think aloud.
"Yeah but we make it work." Tanner says, kissing my neck. My head is still pounding from all the alcohol I had, I can imagine Tanner was feeling the same when I yelled at him. To whoever said relationships were supposed to be easy, fuck you. It's hard to put your total 100% trust and love into one person all the time. And on top of that, you get that back. Plus work, or school, and making sure you're still taking care of yourself.
"I'm glad I have you" I confess.
Today was a long ass day.

Jace Herondale x fem!reader
There he was. The blond hair, beautiful blue/gold eyes and a voice no girl could ever say no to.
Yet there he also was, dating your sister clary fray as this wasn’t enough, she just had to mention it every minute possible. As if she was something special.
You had liked jace for a long time now- almost a year to be exact. The tension between you two was viable and people would ask you if you were a couple, to which you always replied with a simple “no”, not giving jace a chance to say anything. Although he always would look disappointed with your answer, which you clearly never saw.
Now you were here in your room- in the institute as clary talked your full of how annoying jace was and that he acts like he doesn’t even love her.
“I mean y/n, can you maybe talk to jace? I don’t know what to say, I can’t just go to him and be like “hey jace do you really love me?” Like that’s embarrassing” she said to me.
“Um- clary I really think you should talk to him yourself about things like that-“
“Please! I Just Can’t ok, he’s kind of ignoring me these past days I don’t think he will talk to me now, so please. And I’ve been noticing you’ve got pretty close with him huh”
“Are you jealous?” I asked her as her face expression already told me the answer.
“Wh-what no!” She laughed.
“Okay, whatever. Fine I will talk to jace about it but only because you’re my sister..”
“Thank You!” She hugged me and I wrapped my arms around her too.
———
You definitely were not going to talk to jace about clary.
“Jace?” I knocked on his door.
There was silence at first until you heard the door open and you were met with jace.
“What do you want?” He asked, his voice almost making you forgot of why you’re even here.
“I- uhm, can we talk?”your voice stuttered.
“Yeah sure, come in” he held the door open for you as you step into his room when jace looked the door.
“So what is it that you wanna talk about?”you both sat on the edge of his bed. Jace leaning his back against the wall while you were sitting in front of him.
“Uhm..” you didn’t know what to say, as you were literally about to confess your feelings to the boy who has a girlfriend- which happens to be your sister too.
“What? Why are you getting so red?” He smirked as you turned your face to the side, brushing it off with a laugh.
“No but seriously, what is it?”
I can’t do this.”um so clary said-“ he cuts your off.
“Can we please, not talk about clary?” He asked.
“What- why? She told me that you’ve been distanced from her and doesn’t know why”he sighed as he liked his lips before sitting up straight.
“You’re so blind y/n…” you both could feel the tension in the room between you two.
“I- I really should go, to clary..” you quickly stood up and as you were about to open the door you were being turned around and pushed against the door as you felt a pair of soft lips against yours.
You didn’t even realised what has happened so quick but also didn’t hesitate to wrap your arms around jace’s neck and pulling him closer to you.
“Jace, we can’t clary-“
“I don’t give a shit about clary, didn’t she tell you we broke up weeks ago? Fuck y/n I’ve always loved you. You just never gave me a chance to show you that..” you didn’t answer as you pulled his lips to yours again.
Jace slowly picked you up from the ground and wrapped your legs around his waist as he walked over to his bed.
Your back falling down onto the mattress as jace climbs on top of you and immediately attached his lips to your neck.
“Jace” you moaned as he sucked on the soft skin while he slowly rocked his hips against yours.
Your hand goes up to his blonde hair as you turned your head, giving him a better view of your neck.
“Please jace, I want you” you whine as you bucked up your hips to his, wanting to feel something of him.
He pulled his lips away from you neck as he stood up and unbuckled his belt and took off his black jeans, followed with his boxers, revealing his already hard cock as he took off his shirt too when he got on the bed again.
“You want me so bad?” He flipped you over so you were sat on top of him as he laid down on his back
“Go on, im all yours” He said as you took off your clothes before sitting on dick, gaining some friction when slight moans came out of jace’s mouth as his hands were placed on your hips moving your hips slightly back and forth making you grab the headboard.
“Is the door looked?” You asked as jace’s movements stopped, the need to be inside you growing.
“Yes, yes it’s locked now please- ah fuckkkk..” you had lined him up to you so you could smoothly slide him into you when You let yourself fall down onto him, causing his whole length to be buried inside you as you let out a gasp at the size oh him being inside you.
“Fuck it..”jace mumbled as his grip got stronger on your waist and he flipped you both over again as he waisted no time and began to pound into you, hitting you g spot over and over again.
“Jace, im- im..”the pleasure beginning to take over you as jace lips found its way to your neck again.
You wrapped your legs around jace waist pulling him deeper inside you with every thrust.
“Fuck y/n, I wish I knew you wanted me earlier , I would’ve done this months ago” you both felt your orgasm getting closer to the edge as the feeling of you clenching around jace’s cock, and the twitch of him inside you made it worse as you both couldn’t hold it anymore and your warm cum mixed together as jace collapse on top of you, still inside you filling you up.
You didn’t know how clary would react if she would find out about this, but you sure know, you will never regret this.

This song...
I've never really made a proper post before, just shitposts and the occasional art thing. I want to make one to properly express how I feel right now and why this song represents it perfectly. I will warn you first, however, that this mentions a certain YouTuber who was recently completely destroyed on Twitter and my personal experience as a viewer, and may delve into some not-too-happy thoughts
Still here? Let's dive in
It all starts way back when I was still a kid. I was navigating the wonderful site known as YouTube, trying to find videos on videogames and, specifically, I think it was Super Paper Mario. I had no idea how to beat Chapter 2-3 (the Ruby debt one), and I needed help. That's when I stumbled across a YouTuber called Chuggaaconroy (a.k.a. Emile). The way he provided all the information I needed in one video was exactly what I needed. I couldn't subscribe to his channel because I didn't have a Google account, so I just periodically checked his channel, eventually learning he uploaded every day at 5 PM, perfect for younger me. I'd watch his videos when they came out, loving every single one. I eventually discovered his collab channel, The Runaway Guys, and loved that channel even more. He, Proton Jon (Jon) and NintendoCapriSun (Tim) entertained me for YEARS with their content. I even branched out into Jon's streaming community, becoming a semi-regular artist on the booru for a time (you can still find my stuff there under the name TehSm1tty. Not my best work, but I still like some of it). Years come and go, and I have my fair share of mental health troubles, but I'd always find Emile, Jon, and Tim there to brighten my days.
Fast forward to sometime last week. I've been pretty inactive on Twitter aside from my alts, but I decided to see what was popping on main. I log in and get recommended a post with the hashtag "WeStandWithChugga". I had no idea what was going on, so I looked into it. I won't go into detail here, but the jist of it is that Emile was a total creep to many women and even drove wedges between himself and good friends because of this weird behavior. There's a lot more to this than just that, but the point is that it shattered my view of him. I knew he was pushy and that always kinda annoyed me, but the extent of it broke me. For a few days now, I've been having a rough go of it. I mean, my childhood YouTuber just got outed as a complete creep and has some serious allegations of being at least a lolicon, at worst a pedo. I've been down and out for days, and it just wouldn't stop. That is, until I found out that Tim has a Reddit account. I never knew this (or, well, maybe I did and just forgot. Idfk), and was amazed to learn that Tim's been keeping Reddit updated on what he's able/willing to share. Turns out Emile's getting the help he needs at a legit mental hospital and that he's ok. That's what made everything stop. Hearing he's ok. After all the shit Emile has done, he's still a human being and doesn't deserve to have the whole internet turn on him in a fraction of a second. Hearing a fellow human is ok made me feel better. I'm not letting him off the hook, and I do not believe he should ever be forgiven for what he's done, but if he is willing to better himself and become a better person, I am more than willing to believe in that Emile.
Now to come to roughly 40 minutes ago. I decide to boot up Satisfactory and play a bit, but I have no idea what to listen to while I do. I put on a song but quickly get bored of it, and then I see "OMORI | Do You Remember? | Extended" in my recommendations. I put it on and instantly, as if I were splashed in the face by water, I wake up and feel better. I was still stressed about everything going on (I'm set to go to college in September, AND my folks are headed to Mexico in about a week, so I'm stressed from those too), but with the first note on the piano, everything faded. All my swirling negative emotions were replaced with a somber peace. I'm still hurt by the last week's revelations, and I'm never going to truly recover (who could?), but I'm moving on. I think my comment on the video describes how I feel best; "The sad yet peaceful feeling this song evokes in me... It's pretty much how I feel today. I feel at peace... or, well, mostly. There's still pain, and there always will be, but I can move on and I'll live. In the future, I'll look back on this last week and feel sad, but that'll be in the future when this is all over with for good, so I can also look back at before it and be happy that those good times happened. Nothing will ever be the same, but such is the way of the world. Saying goodbye is saying hello to the future, and we all need to do that eventually. Who knows what the future may hold? I, for one, can't wait to see. Hello future, and goodbye sadness".
Chuggaaconroy was an inspiration and a light in the sea of darkness for so, so many, and these revelations have snuffed the light he provided out. What I hope is that Emile takes a long, long break from the internet to become the person we all believed him to be, to truly become that bright light in the dark, rather than just another dark figure holding a flashlight. I don't hope for that as a supporter of him as I don't support who he is right now (as if I haven't said it enough), I hope for that as a fellow human who only wishes to see everyone become the best version of themself.
I think this post was exactly what I needed. I've finally gotten everything out in a cohesive (maybe?) and healthy manner, and I'm ready to become my best self. I will be beginning work on YouTube videos tomorrow, and will hopefully be posting Thursdays at 5 PM (in honor of DatPags whom has not uploaded in a long time).
To anyone who finished reading this post, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Please, go become your best self, but do not do so by putting others down. Better yourself and acknowledge your flaws, overcome them, and do not repeat Emile's mistakes. Learn from those around you.
Yours truly,

travis is doing what now???
congrats. or not. you made it to part 2 of my explanation/summary of that. you can find part 1 here.
cw: some (not too graphic but still present) smut written by a guy who is friends with the people in this fic + discussion of religion in a very general metaphor way
this is the part i'm warning you about the smut and general nightmare feeling: chapter 4: brainwashed
in his author's note, travis wishes readers happy pride (if this is pride, i feel wrath) and starts questioning whether he should be continuing the fic (should've questioned that a long time ago) and then admitting he wrote 30 FUCKING PAGES for this chapter.
this chapter takes place over the course of a week, starting with awsten and geoff on a date where they start getting to know each other. geoff starts saying how he's working on a project in this place where he's interviewing people about their relationship to the in universe equivalent to christianity or some abrahamic religion if you add the pokémon knockoffs to them. so they get into a conversation about theology that was like reading the glup shitto post but religious bc seriously i don't know or care about these stupid fantasy names.
so then after all this they go to geoff's apartment to have fade to black sex that's only implied in the second day section.
unfortunately some of the smut is not fade to black from this point forward.
awstens horny wants more dick and geoff's just trying to get breakfast for them which prompts this scene.
Tumblr media
is this a good time to remind you that travis is writing this about the friends he has in real life. he knows these people. personally.
thank you travis for restoring my faith in my smut writing abilities 🙏 because now i know at least i'm not writing scenes like these about my irls.
ok back to the fic they have SHOWER SEX after that and we also have to read that for some reason.
Tumblr media
so after that they watch some old show together and awsten asks if geoff has any pets and this is the part where i find out there’s normal animals and pokémon ripoffs in this universe which is weird.
geoff summons a recreation of his dog for a bit (that’s a thing i forgot to mention that mostly bc i do not care) and the day ends with him musing on that saying he misses his dog.
the third day section is a literal paragraph about them having fade to black sex. that’s it for that.
the fourth day section finds awsten going home for an hour to pick up new clothes to stay at geoff’s more and after that him and geoff go on a date outside.
it’s this point when geoff asks awsten if he can interview him for his project about people’s relationships with religion. awsten says yes, but pretty reluctantly.
so they get on with the interview which gradually gets awsten more uncomfortable with the personal questions.
this entire part is travis’ heavy handed way of approaching religious themes that are supposed to be in the album and my god does the allegory feel as heavy handed as the sparse religious references in intellectual property. considering this is a universe where travis tends to ignore things he’s not comfortable with writing for whatever reason (cough cough otto), i think considering this is a universe where all his friends are gay and yknow. the general relationship between gay people and religious can be pretty complex it just makes me wonder the implications of leaving that out too. if the topic got too real.
anyways.
awsten cuts off the interview and geoff starts opening up about his life which just means travis airs out the shit geoff has been going through for the past couple years minus the polycule.
Tumblr media
is this a good time to note that geoff’s dog irl is named eevee (renamed here for obvious reasons) and said dog is still actually with his ex and kid. travis why are you airing this out and at what point in writing this chapter did it dawn upon you that this was a bad idea.
this section just ends in awsten wondering what else he doesn’t know about and then they make out.
the fifth day section starts with geoff trying to cook them food after the umpteenth time of them fucking. geoff makes a light joke that his cooking is only world famous to his daughter which makes the lines after that 10x worse
Tumblr media
everything about this is actually terrible. the fact that geoff was trying to cook naked. “giving Geoff’s penis a light tap”. MANHOOD????
so anyways they cook a grilled cheese together and they talk and geoff ends up dropping that he’s seeing a pokemon knockoff tournament with a guy named pulo, another travis oc. geoff says they’re not exclusive or anything but awsten still feels like shit bc he probably thought him and geoff were at least. ouch.
the sixth day section is awsten musing about the new geoff revelations but then ending up having fade to black sex with him anyways.
the final section (of this chapter but. god that was long) is awsten finally leaving geoff’s apartment after a week there. meaning they make out for a long time at the door before awsten has to leave.
i can’t believe someone who knows both of them wrote this entire thing about them and posted it online. it genuinely baffles me how travis didn’t cancel writing the fic here before he could post it. but if you know what happened before next chapter posted, you’d know why he went on with this.
so travis lives in austin, texas (it’s the only way he can say he’s in awsten and it’s true). and so for the austin show, him, jawn, and zakk all got onstage for war crimes wearing something awsten had and travis was reveling this especially towards the end when he was hugging awsten and taking his damn time presumably whiffing him as much as he could under his mask.
and then this happens.
travis just gets to shake awstens ass in front of this audience twice 😭😭😭 might i remind you this is a show that rivers cuomo attended without anyone knowing until the day after.
so yeah that happens and then travis gets brought up again for awsten to hold him like a doll while he plays cherry red for travis to horribly sing.
Tumblr media
so after this, i was like travis is either going to go home and jack off to this or he’s going to write the next fic chapter and i was definitely right about one of those things but still probably right about the other.
so now we’re here to the most recent part of this which is chapter 5: 2 best friends.
awstens all bummed about geoff hanging out with pulo so he goes out with travis and jawn to take his mind off things. the entire chapter is essentially travis being a very ooc party boy drunk (bc i think travis realizes how lame and nerdy his actual personality is) while him, awsten, and jawn all hang out and do dumb shit.
ok with that out of the way lemme just say it does not feel like i’m reading three different characters it just feels like i’m reading travis, travis, and drunk travis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so anyways they all do shit but it doesn’t keep awsten from thinking about geoff in the end.
oh but that’s not everything nope not at all bc the ending is awsten and jawn. HOOKING UP.
Tumblr media
oh my god. considering how awsten has slept with most of the male population in this fic except travis, i feel like travis writing this is just fueling some cuck fetish of his bc WHAT THE HELL IS ANY OF THIS SERIOUSLY.
anyways that’s all i have :) this fandom and the people involved with parx are actually insane on so many different levels i didn’t know were possible. i just want to interrogate travis for everything about this fic (with a knife in my hand)

Summary: : You have an accident during a mission that leaves you with some memory loss
Warnings: A bit of a panic attack. Some drinking.
A/N: Y/IN means your initial. Also here is Part One. Also I am about to go back to school, so when the school year starts I definitely will be backing off on how much I will post but I will try.
______________________________________________________________
It had been a week since the accident and you still had no memory of Hangman, Phoenix, or Maverick. Rooster, Fanboy, and Payback had come to see you and surprisingly you remembered them. The doctor said it was because you had met them only a few months ago, minds were funny like that.
"And then this is where I asked you to be my girlfriend" Hangman says as you stand look out to the ocean from the deck of the local bar. You look down seeing the initials Y/IN + H. I should remember the proof is right there I just can't. You think all this new information was making your head hurt. "I'm sorry I-I-I just d-d-don't remember" you say tears coming to your eyes. "Hey hey it's ok" he says.
Phoenix walks up to the two of you smiling but the minute she sees you crying the smile comes off her face. "Hey Y/N what's wrong" "I just don't remember and all this new information and trying to rack my brain for something anything it's too stressful." you say as your breathing got hard and you feel yourself get dizzy. You knew this was a panic attack you used to get them back in college and high school. Now that you were 29 you hadn't had one in 6 years.
"Y/N hey it's ok breathe" Phoenix says. "Follow my breathing" after 5 minutes your breathing had gone back to normal and you were feeling better. "Come one Y/N let's get a drink and relax no more information today" Phoenix says.
Hangman watches you. It was killing him. He knows this wasn't easy maybe even if you don't remember your memories he does. He knows you're still in there and you would come back to him. For now your safe even if he couldn't technically call you his.
He walked into the bar a little after you and Phoenix had joining in on the fun.
**
You were hanging with Phoenix and she was helping you go through some of your things seeing if any of the pictures or little trinkets would help.
You had got through photo album after photo album, box of trinkets after box. You were getting overwhelmed. "I think theres on more album in my room" you say getting up. You walked into the kitchen pouring some more wine into your cup. Taking a deep breath you took a sip. You walk into your room and head to the closet as you open it you see it an album. You pull it out and start flipping through when one picture caught your eye it was a picture of you. You were on a bridge you were on his back a bright smile on his face where as Hangman was looking annoyed but happy.
Then it hit you it call came back. You remembered everything.
It was like a wave of water washing over you. "Phoenix?" you say looking up "yeah." "I-I remember" "what?" she says shocked "I remember you, Maverick, Hangman, everything at least I think everything" Hangman... Oh god you think my man I need to see him "Jake" you say and she knows "go, go" she rushes and you run out to your car speeding off to Hangman's place.
You pull up and jump out of the car and race to the door knocking rapidly. The door opens and there stood Hangman your Hangman. You threw yourself at him connecting your lips. He was shocked at first he then kisses you back. You pull away "Y/N" you nod "I remember. Everything from when you asked me out to out trip to Italy" you say. "Oh it's so good to have you back" and picks you up spinning you around making you squeal. "Why Italy?" "hmm?" "you said our trip to Italy. I don't think I mentioned that because it was one trip" You chuckle "well it was a picture of us from the trip" "man who would have thought" and you both chuckle walking inside.
You spent the night with Hangman and it was like you never forgot. Hangman was happy he had his girl back.

Part 7&8
-
You had heard about a certain bard in Mondstadt that won the best bard in Mondstadt award three times, “I should go visit Venti… I should also get a temporary place in Mondstadt… maybe I could work at Angels Share, plus it’s getting close to the cannon start of the game, so I’ll need to wait for Traveler to go to Mondstadt anyways…” you thought out loud while Xiao was just sitting near you reading a book you had bought him, “y/n I don’t know what your rambling is about but it can’t be good…” Xiao said since he only heard words like Venti, game, cannon and the incoherent rest of the rambling, “ah! I forgot you were here sorry Xiao!” You replied, “oh! Would you like to come to Mondstadt with me?? I’ll get you some of the best almond Tofu!” You said happily, Xiao sighed, “ok y/n, when do we leave?” He asked in return, “tomorrow!” You replied, “okay then y/n” he said.
And so here you two are at the gates of Mondstadt, “let’s get you some almond Tofu, then I’ll need to go do something by myself…” you explained to Xiao, and so you took him to Good Hunter, and you bought three plates of almond Tofu for Xiao and sat him down with the food at the table.
And so you were off to the hands of the barbatos statue to see if you could spot Venti, it didn’t take long to spot him in the centre of town playing his Lyre, and so you hopped off the statues hands and went into the crowd to listen, you pulled out the pouch of mora you have had since day one, and you quickly go to good hunter again and grab some apples, you paid and went back to the crowd, it took five minutes before he had wrapped up the performance, people started leaving and he hadn’t spotted you yet, so you snuck up behind him and trapped him in a hug which surprised him greatly, he turned his head around quickly to assess the situation, his eyes widened and quickly turned around and hugged you back, “oh my Celestial! Y/n!!! When I got back to Mondstadt I looked for you and assumed you were gone, and I even checked the library for information on what happened to you!! But there was nothing!!” Venti exclaimed now crying into your shoulder, “Venti I only just heard about you being back a week ago, I had to make sure I had left nothing to do whatsoever, also I’m sorry I scared you so much, I missed you terribly in the last 500 years…” you said starting to sob now as well, you two stayed like that for a while, then you took out a apple, you handed him the apple quickly, “Venti I need to go get someone really quickly, let’s meet at Vanessa’s tree okay?” You said softly, he nodded and disappeared quickly, you turned and ran to Good hunter, only to see Xiao with 10 empty plates instead of the original three you bought him, “Xiao I’m back, I want you to meet someone, come on!” You said giddily before grabbing him by the shoulders and teleporting the two of you to Vanessa’s tree where Venti was waiting, as soon as you got there you were hugged by Venti again, the look on Xiaos face made him look like a kicked puppy, “Venti this is Xiao! Xiao this is Venti!” You said which made them both snap out of it, “nice to meet you Xiao!” Venti said, Xiao nodded softly in response, ‘maybe I could get them together!!!’ You thought suddenly, ‘I’ll wait until they both know each other better though before I try to get them together!’ You thought right after, it was slowly becoming dark and you were all talking, “oh I should probably mention something!” You said, “I’ve technically only known Xiao 60ish years less than you Venti!” You state casually, both Xiaos and Venti’s eyes widened at that, “oh shit! Neither of y’all knew about the other yet…” you said nervously, “Adeptus Xiao meet Barbatos~!” You say even more nervously, “WHAT!?!!?!!?!??!” They both yelled at the same time, and so you explained to them how the other had met you and some other stuff…
-
It took you over 500 years to find out you can teleport to fucking taverns! Like why! Anyways…
You were working a shift at angels share with Charles while talking to Diluc, you had made Diluc give you the job after you explained that you needed a job and were new to Mondstadt. Then it happened Paimon, Traveler and Venti burst through the door and got a table upstairs away from the guards that came in soon, you watched from behind the bar until they left…
You left the counter to go clean up a table, and the trio came down shortly after, you just watched for a bit nearly giggling, ‘fuck it I’m joining the conversation now’ you thought, “ok this is a nice talk you four are having right now, I want in” you said casually while slinging a arm around Venti’s shoulder causing him to squeak in surprise, “y-y/n~~! Don’t scare me, you know the wind likes hiding your presence~!” Venti whines, “y/n? You know this bard?” Diluc asked raising an eyebrow, “this is one of the friends I’ve told you about Diluc!” You state casually, “eh!!! Why does this bard know such a pretty lady!” Paimon exclaimed, this caused you to finally realise which one of the twins was the traveler, “ah nice to meet you Aether~!” You say happily not noticing that you messed up, “h-how did you know my name miss? The only person I’ve told that to is Paimon!” Aether exclaimed pulling out a sword, the other three pause then look at you expectingly, “oh fuck I’m so sorry, I should explain y/n to you Traveler, since I’ve met her she’s always done things like this, it’s something she hasn’t ever been able to stop when it happens…” Venti explains, ‘I’m so thankful this isn’t the first time I’ve done this shit!’, “so about storm terror! I assume you guys plan to go and steal the holy lyre back from the people who stole it? Well I’m happy to help! I’ll even bring Venti’s future boyfriend~!!” You say cheerily, Venti’s face flushed in response and the others realised you were teasing him, “so now that that’s nearly settled I’ll meet you all at the location tomorrow night and we can go over the terms more safely, till we meet again! Now sho sho~!” You say before shoing the three besides Diluc out, you were about to go back to serving before Diluc pulled you aside to talk, “y/n I’m happy you want to help in this whole debacle but I don’t think it’s safe for you, you aren’t an adventurer, it’s not safe…” he said looking into your eyes, at this you giggled, “come with me to the guild tomorrow Diluc, I’ll need to show you something~!” You said smiling, Diluc felt shivers go down his back, it made him feel like he had made a grave mistake by saying anything…
Time skip!
You were all at the place where the battle against storm terror was about to take place, you were in one of your normal outfits which confused the rest, “oh yeah would anyone want a protection spell cast on them?” You asked quickly, everyone nodded quietly, you cast the spell with no effort which shocked them momentarily, “it’ll ware off by tomorrow morning” you say casually, then it started, you wanted to help but you waited to see if your help was truly needed, everything went off without a hitch thankfully, and you all went to angels share to celebrate with fruit juice and dandelion wine~! (Cough *Venti because it was all on you* Cough).
You all were so happy that this debacle was finally resolved… if only shit wouldn’t happen in Liyue soon… ‘I’m going to fucking stomp Zhongli if he doesn’t say something to me or Xiao before fucking going through with faking his archon-selves death!!!’ You think to yourself as Venti and Xiao cuddle on the couch next to your chair.

Hey!! I hope your exams are going ok/went well? I saw you mentioned them in a previous response to someone?!
I hope you don't mind me asking, but I'm craving some fluff for Takado, and I love your writing, so I thought you were the person to ask!
I've been imagining something along the lines of the two being really good friends, and it's obvious to everyone that they're smitten. Maybe MC starts talking about Takado like she does Sekai, and he suddenly realises she feels the same?
Honestly, I really don't mind what you decide, and please don't feel any pressure to write anything!
Hey, Anon! Is this one of the cutest asks I have received? Definitely! Thank you for this idea. And thank you for asking about my exams. They went better than I had thought in the beginning. Now I'm finally home and have time to relax. I hope I'll write more these days. So, wait for me. Also, enjoy! ❤️
Friends to lovers (Munechika Takado x MC) (Scenario)
Summary: Matsunaga and Kasumi had high expectation from the smart student that became EICU's new "acquisition". However, no one expected for her to click so good with their tyrant of a colleague - Dr. Munechika Takado.
Words counting: 1713
"It is obvious," Ekuni wrote on his board and immediately closed his eyes. However, even Kasumi, the furthest away from him, noticed that the anesthesiologist didn't fall asleep and listened to everything the other EICU members were saying. Ekuni was smart enough to know that after his statement, everyone would be interested in a continuation. So, a minute later, he was on his butt, stretching and yawning. "Have you never seen Takado be overprotective of MC every time she sleeps?"
Matsunaga looked at the three doctors who were listening to Ekuni. He was the only one who didn't share an office with them, so there was no way he would witness anything like this. Sen avoided his boss' boss eyes. Kasumi, on the other hand, looked deep into his thoughts.
"I do reckon seeing something like this, yes," the cardiologist started while rubbing his chin. "Takado once hushed me when MC slept with her head on her textbooks."
Sen's brows frowned, and Hosho's jaw was on the floor, knowing better than anyone that no one in their entire team was as afraid of Kasumi as Takado. Ekuni forgot about sleep due to Kasumi's words that exceeded all his expectations.
"I was talking about Takado searching for a blanket in the entire office the first time MC fell asleep on the couch, but this is good too, I think," Ekuni explained.
"And do you think that Takado searching for a blanket is proof strong enough to make you suspect his feelings for MC?" Hosho entered the conversation.
"It's Takado we are talking about. If any other resident fell asleep here, he would have thrown them outside the window," Sen's irritated voice reverberated through the room.
"You've got a point," Ekuni wrote again on his board. He wanted to go back to sleep, but Hosho's words picked up his interest.
"Do you remember our morning meeting from the last month?"
All of them knew what the neurosurgeon was about to say. It had happened a few weeks ago but was vivid in everyone's memories as if it was yesterday. Kasumi explained the schedule to everyone, and, as ever, Takado took more than half of the sofa. MC, who was a little bit late, didn't have space where to sit. Instead of taking a chair, she planted herself on the floor between Takado's legs. Kasumi stopped talking when he saw her like this. However, the most surprised was the orthopedist, who asked for explanations by pushing MC's back with his knee. The girl's brows raised, surprised by her preceptor's rudeness. Instead of saying anything, she just showed him her tongue and moved her eyes to Kasumi, waiting for him to continue. Despite Takado's initial shock, he didn't stop his resident from leaning on one of his knees. Moreover, after the meeting finished, Takado let his upper body fall in front and put his arms on MC's head, trapping her between his legs. Poor girl had to bite him to get out.
"Even then, I thought MC was just giving him a lesson about manspreading," Hosho explained.
"That means you are dumb, not that there's nothing between them," Sen mumbled.
"Facepalm" appeared on Ekuni's board.
"But I get why Hosho has never thought of them being a couple or having feelings for each other," Kasumi started, looking far away. "Do you remember Takado being touchy or overly open about his past relationships?"
This question was enough for everyone to shut up for a while. Even Sen had to bite his tongue in regret for being rude to Hosho. Takado liked girly girls with cute behavior. Even if he tried his best to "seduce" those with whom he went on dates, none of the doctors remember him being overly excited and open about his relationships. There was no way he would be so careless to act like that with his girlfriend in front of them.
"I know what you are talking about, but I still think that Takado wouldn't share his food with anyone not special to him."
Now, the EICU team looked at Matsunaga. If their boss' boss saw hints of Takado and MC's relationship, that meant something.
"I once ate with Takado and MC during lunch."
What the Dean was talking about had happened around two months ago, even before the thing at the meeting. Takado and MC waited in line for lunch while talking about shoulder fractures that interested muscles. They were too concentrated on their talk to see Matsunara next to them. So the Dean could hear their command.
"What will you take? I can't decide between the second and the third menu," Takado asked while licking his lips in expectation.
"Why don't you take one and I take the other, then we share it?"
And, from Matsunaga's words, both ended up liking both menus. Not caring that there were people around them, they gave each other half of their portions, stealing from each other plates from time to time, just for annoying purposes.
After the Dean ended his story, the EICU team needed a few moments to digest the information. Was it really about their Takado? It was true that MC clicked with her preceptor from the first moments. She was hard-working and dedicated, but unlike Takado, she knew what "friendliness" meant. But being so close wasn't what people expected when they decided to make MC Takado's student.
"You may be right, but it was months ago. What is happening between them lately isn't just friendliness," Sen finally showed his cards.
Sen rolled his eyes when he saw everyone looking at him. However, he couldn't hide the grin on his face in time for others not to see it. The pediatrician faked a cough to mask his laugh and started explaining his point.
"I think MC's obsession with Sekai is her problem, but she is annoying when she fawns over me for having a voice similar to his. However, lately, she has forgotten about me. Instead, I have heard her mumbling under her nose about how pleasant is Takado's voice."
A wave of "wow" hit the youngest doctor on the team. He let aside the fact that MC asked him what he thought about the orthopedist's deep and husky voice. The damage he had done was enough to prove his point. So, others would have to spy on MC to get more information.
"I see your points and understand why some of you think they are good friends while others question their relationship. However, I also have seen something that makes me think there can be more between them," Kasumi decided to publicize his information. After a deep breath, the cardiologist continued: "On Matsudo Rina's death anniversary, I saw Takado going to the roof and followed him because I was worried. But I saw MC hugging him tightly from behind. And he didn't push her away. Moreover, when they had a kid abandoned by their parents as a patient, I heard MC saying that she knew how it felt, and Takado promised never to abandon her."
This time, no one commented. It wasn't a simple or funny matter. It was something that friends, lovers, and family members do for those they care about. Something that the entire EICU craved. So, when MC and Takado entered the office, they saw their colleagues sitting silently in a circle.
"What are you doing here? Planning how to conquer the world?" MC started.
"Nah, they plan how to get rid of us. Otherwise, why aren't we invited?" Takado explained while chuckling.
However, their jokes weren't funny to their friends. Instead, they were met with frowned brows and concentrated looks. Takado and MC gulped, waiting for the bomb to drop.
"Are you dating?" Kasumi finally said what was on everyone's minds.
Takado looked at MC, who had her shoulder touching his. He didn't mind her proximity. However, after Kasumi's words, it felt like burning, and he jumped away from her. Both orthopedists blushed hard and avoided looking at someone else.
"No," they whispered simultaneously.
"Yet," Hosho stated and started chuckling. Thanks to his words, Takado and MC looked at each other. They were supposed to come to EICU headquarters after their things and go home together. Now, their ride was doomed.
Ten minutes after, a tomato Takado stopped in front of MC and unlocked the door of his car. Without saying a word, the girl hopped in. The entire ride, none of them said a single word. However, from time to time, they stole glances at each other, trying to understand what the other thought about what had happened earlier.
"Can we talk about this?" Takado said after stopping his car in front of MC's apartment. The girl nodded, waiting for him to continue. It took the man minutes to get his thoughts in order. So, the pair of friends stayed in silence the whole time, hoping their hearts were pounding deafening only in their ears. "I see you as a friend. I do. But lately..." Takado took a deep breath and swallowed, "lately, when I look at you, I think I'd like to kiss you. And I don't think that's what friends do."
Suddenly, the roof of his car became more entertaining than anything else. The orthopedist could swear that everything above him was so foreign as if someone else had chosen the car and had driven it for years.
"Then do it," MC whispered so softly that Takado nearly missed it due to his nosy brain.
Slowly, Takado's eyes left the roof and found their way to MC's face. His hand, however, was faster, finding its place on the girl's fingers. The man leaned towards MC and pressed his forehead against hers.
"Are you sure?"
MC whispered a "Yes," the last letter of the word being swallowed by Takado's lips. Both of them slid closer to each other. Takado's other hand cupped MC's cheek. None of their hearts stopped deafening their ears. Yet, the wrinkles in between their brows disappeared. It wasn't a long kiss, and they didn't kiss till being breathless. But, they both were, due to the feelings exploding in their chests.
"I think I want to do it forever," Takado whispered against MC's lips.
"Then do it," MC repeated with a small smile.

What would Buck like for Christmas?
By VioDuo
T wo weeks before Christmas Christopher Diaz came to his father with a simple question.
-What would we get Buck for Christmas?
-What? - The question had interrupted the soccer match Eddie was watching
-What would we get Buck for Christmas?
All Eddie could do at that moment was blink, since it was a really good question that he hadn´t thought about before.
In the past 3 years, all they ever gave Buck was food made by Abuela and a few of Christopher's drawings. He never complained or mentioned anything about those presents not being enough. But thinking about it now, Eddie knew he had been a poor friend.
Buck has made, almost, the impossible to make every Christmas special for the Diaz family one way or another. Eddie never questioned why, but knowing Buck, it has something to do with how the holidays were in the Buckley household. And that raised the alarms in Eddie's brain, Buck probably didn`t enjoy the Holidays but wanted to make it the best time ever for the people he loved. Buck deserved better, Buck deserved the world.
-We need to get a really good Christmas gift for Buck.- insisted Chis
-Okay, well, what does he like?
-Me.
The answer was so simple that left Eddie speechless for a second.
- True, but what else does he like?
- I don’t know. What’s wrong with adoption papers?
If Eddie had been drinking anything it was sure he would choke on it.
-Chris, mijo, we can`t give Buck adoption papers just like that. He probably would sign them without thinking and he would be trapped with us. What would happen if he got married to someone else? We cannot put Buck in that position.
-Then you should propose to him, so he doesn`t get married to someone else. He won`t be trapped and he will have a family to love him.
The logic in his child's plans was so tempting, that just for a moment, Eddie considered following Chris's plans.
-We can´t do that, I can`t. He doesn`t love me like that.
-He does
-He doesn`t
Christopher looked at him unsurprised by his father's negation. Without a word, the kid took his father's phone, and a few clicks after the calling tone was sounding in the speaker.
-Mijo, who are you calling?
-Hello? - Bobby`s voice interrupted the question.
-Bobby?
-Eddie? Do you need something?
-Bobby!!, can you convince dad that Buck loves him?
-Hey Chris! Am I correct in assuming that the one who called was Christopher?
-Yeah, sorry, I promise he won't be doing that anymore - Eddie was going to ground Chris after this, a week with no video games sounded good.
-No need, Chris is always welcome to call if he needs something. Also, he is right.
Confused Eddie Asked - Right? About what?
-About Buck, he does love you.
-Not you too Bobby. As I told Chris here, He doesn´t love me that way.
-He wrote on the back of the writing board Evan Diaz…with a few hearts.
For the second time in less than an hour, Eddie Diaz was grateful there was no water in his mouth.
-W…Wha?? Sorry, What!?
-I found the writing board in the office closet, He tried to hide it behind some books and boxes. I think he wanted to get rid of it later, but somehow he forgot.
-But that was months ago!!
-Exactly.
Silence, there was nothing that Eddie could say that could help his case.
-Can I ask why are you discussing this?
-We were figuring out what to give Buck for Christmas. I suggested adoption papers, but dad said no since Buck wouldn´t be able to marry someone after, so I suggest dad propose to Buck, and he said Buck didn´t love him like that and then I called you. - Explained Chris
- I see, give me a second  - by the sound of it Bobby was talking to someone else //-Honey, what are we getting Buck for Christmas?  - No idea, every time I ask him he said a hug was ok -What do you think about adoption papers? -Do you want to adopt him? Sure, let's make it legal -Perfect// -Christopher? Athena will contact a friend of hers who can give us the papers needed, they will be probably ready by the weekend, so we can give him the papers during the Christmas party, what do you think?
-That sounds super good, Dad and I can decorate some boxes to punt the papers in.
-Perfect, We´ll see you at the party, bye Chris, bye Eddie.
By the time Bobby hung up Eddie still couldn´t process what just happened.
-We should go a find nice boxes to decorate Dad.
-Boxes, yes. Wait, NO!... We are not giving Buck adoption papers as his Christmas present.
-It won't be just the adoption papers Dad, we are going ring shopping, you need a ring to propose.

What's Shakin' Baby? (2) - Eddie Munson x GN! Reader
Tumblr media
AN: i wanted to finish this before my birthday (4 days ago now) and instead i broke my glasses ;-; happy birthday to me ig. ANYWAYS it's finished now- it took me so long and i really apologise for that ;-; I'm a perfectionist and it takes me a while to write these... I mean, look at the size. It's also difficult for me to work when I'm burnt out and tired all the time, and considering i stayed up till 7am to write this (dw I'm sleeping as soon as i post this) then yeah. That starts to take its toll eventually. I'll say that I had a lot of fun writing this- i understand not everyone likes fluff but to those i say ok? go read something else there's a multitude of fics I'm sure you'll find what u like :) PERSONALLY i liked Dustin and Eddie's friendship in s4 and it's clear Gaten and Joe have great chemistry... But hear me out: Eddie and Max. Do u really think Eddie saw Max moping around, all sad around the trailer park and just didn't do anything about it? Nah. Sarcastic little sister and Goofy older Brother? Ya. We were truly robbed of Max finding someone like Eddie to confide him and realise could be a good sibling to her that doesn't yell at her and make her afraid.  (arcade idea stolen (with permission) from @intergalacticaquarium if you, like me, think Eddie and Max should have had a friend/siblings dynamic in s4, I encourage u to read their fics about them. They are v wholesome.)
WARNINGS: gender neutral reader, reader is 20, L O N G and slow burn forgive me i got v carried away, reader smokes, fluff, tooth-rotting fluff at the end, i promice, mentions of billy being a bad older brother to Max, Max opening up a bit about Billy trauma, Eddie being an amazing older brother to Max (along w yn ofc), eating food, negative self-talk, slight angst at the end, brain empty, no more thoughts, lmk if i missed something
PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3 | MASTERLIST
15,915 words (holy shit i know)
The following day, you found you were driving back home from your trip into town with Eddie, blasting one of his mixtapes and singing along happily. As suspected, there wasn't anything interesting in the various stores and boutiques that had opened up since Starcourt shut down, but you still had a delightful day. You almost forgot how fun Eddie was to just... Be around. Even if he hated following you through the stores, his comments on the people in the store or the mannequins or the stupid slogans on the shirts made it difficult to not burst out laughing in the middle of the otherwise silent store. You did eventually have to drag him out so you wouldn't get kicked out when you flicked your gaze over and he was shifting the mannequin's hand around to be a middle finger. He finally pulled you into a Goodwill- the best decision you had made that day because apparently, you hit a jackpot- someone retired a bunch of Metal merchandise and it's probably the most quiet Eddie has been while sober and conscious in years. You both meticulously searched through the numerous Metal band t-shirts (some of which neither you, or Eddie had heard of, surprisingly), unsown patches he could add to his battle vest and various band pins. Eddie kept mumbling to himself about 'how lucky he got' as well as 'how someone could ever give this up'?
Collectively, you spent almost two hours sifting through all the clothes there and eventually buying close to ten things each. You stopped by a McDonald's to eat something, sitting in his car and talking about some bizarre thing that had crossed Eddie's mind at that moment, and as you drove home, you excitedly pointed at the Palace Arcade,
"Holy shit! That place is still open!?" You grinned eagerly, trying to turn your head to look over your shoulder at the passing building,
"Uhuh. If you came here a couple of weeks earlier, I would have taken you," he said playfully,
"What? Why not now?" You frowned, looking back at him,
"Cause school's out for summer. It's gonna be crowded as fuck with stupid kids stealing all the good prizes," He pouted, and you lit up at his comment,
"Aww," You grinned, "I'm sure we can just find your disappearing ink somewhere else out of town-"
"No, no, no," He grinned, "Buying something is not the same as winning it in an arcade after busting your ass on Tetris for an hour," You laughed softly at his comment,
"You played Tetris for an hour and all you could get was disappearing ink?" You grinned. At first you thought it was a joke- you remembered Eddie's whole phase with with the ink, realising he could draw whatever he wanted, wherever and no one would see it. He grafitied a lot of rooms in Hawkins with stupid messages and crude drawings, not to mention his room was full of glowing drawings under the black light he brought... You quickly realised he wasn't joking about spending an hour on one game and your eyes widened, "No-"
"Babe-" He said quickly,
"Eddie-" You said in a warning tone,
"Babe-" He repeated, his eyes widening and a grin spreading across his lips,
"Are you telling me you played Tetris for an hour... And all you could afford was disappearing ink?" You asked, mouth opening in shock,
"I'm not answering that," He huffed, "I don't like your tone,"
"How bad are you at Tetris?" You laughed, "It's a simple game, how-"
"Okay, well," He smiled, "Now you're just being mean-" He commented on your laughter,
"Eddie-" You managed breathlessly,
"It's a hard game!" He protested,
"This is like the rubik's cube all over again," You teased once you calmed down a little,
"It is not! Do not disrespect the cube like that"" He whined,
"The cube!!" You said amused, laughing,
"Can you stop making fun of me, babe?" He cast you a glance with a bright grin on his face,
"I'm not making fun of you; you're just funny, Eds," You grinned, shaking your head, "I'm simply reminiscing on that week that you locked yourself away in your room, almost losing your mind over that thing," You said,
"Yeah. And then a possum tried to kill me and cursed it," He said playfully,
The possum incident occurred in early autumn a few years ago. Before he disappeared for the week, Eddie picked up a new strain of weed from Rick. He talked your ear off about how it was real, authentic shit, grown in pristine conditions, and supposed to be better than anything he had ever sold or tried before. He'd been so excited to 'test' the product that he left his bedroom window open while he was greened out and a possum snuck in during the night. He didn't realise at first, but when he discovered it... It was safe to say that nothing could beat that phone call- hearing Eddie screaming about the 'demonic' marsupial hiding away in his closet and crudely describing it as a 'screaming rat that wants to eat him' was confusing at first. When you pulled the receiver from your ear, you almost collapsed laughing as you could hear him yelling from his trailer. It took you a while to collect yourself before you arrived in his home- Wayne was already there, attempting to usher the terrified creature into an empty laundry basket with a broom, while Eddie stood on his bed and rambled about 'demons' and 'cursed cubes'. Seeing you made him yell at you for laughing at the scene, and once you calmed, you moved your focus to help Wayne. You felt bad for the older man, considering he usually slept during the day for his shifts at the Plant, and who reprimanded Eddie about closing his windows at night so creatures don't find their way inside,
"It didn't try to kill you, Eddie," You told him as he parked his van outside his trailer, "It was more scared of you than you were of it," You pat his shoulder as you unbuckled the seatbelt and got out, heading for the back of the van to collect your bags,
"Why'd it have its mouth open then?" He grinned, opening the back for you,
"Because that's what they do," You reminded him, "They don't have thumbs, or spikes or knives, so they open their mouthes to be all scary," You explained, smiling as he rolled his eyes. You cast a glance at the bags, "Damn... We gotta wash all of these," You mumbled as you grabbed yours, which had been set on the right,
"Possums are terrifying," He muttered under his breath as he walked back to his trailer,
"Yeah, yeah," You rolled your eyes, "Hey, meet me at mine in like, ten minutes," You said, "I got watermelon in my fridge," You smiled,
"Yeah, I know. I was there when you bought it," He said with a grin, "Save me a beer," He said, before disappearing into his trailer.
A while later, you'd set the clothes you bought in the washer, opened the beer for him and got busy cutting up the watermelon. Eddie quickly entered announcing himself with a cheerful 'Hey baby!'  the thick smell of cigarettes fluttering through the air behind him. Glancing up to give him a small smile, you noted he was shirtless, yet still wearing the same pair of dark jeans he had on before. He hated shorts, so he opted to find the jeans with the largest rips and holes in them instead. It surprised you when he walked up behind you, wrapping an arm around your waist and pressing a kiss to the back of your head. As you tried to feed him a chunk of the fruit, he playfully moved out of the way, grabbing the beer and mentioning that he was smoking, so he couldn't eat. You rolled your eyes, before telling him you should go sit outside, considering your AC was busted and it was cooler there than inside. There was a thin layer of sweat on your forehead, and you didn't want to stay inside longer than you had to. You eyed the spider etched into his right shoulder- how dare he not mention he got a new tattoo?
"You're staring," He said in a sing-songy tone, distracted by fishing out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from his pockets, causing you to blush and glance away from him,
"Shut up, Eds," You said with a small smile, following him outside and sitting in one of the seats you had on the porch, before grabbing a watermelon slice to eat. You gladly accepted the cigarette he offered, leaning over so he could light it for you and inhaling deeply,
"You dig the new ink?" He asked playfully, sliding a notebook you hadn't noticed he brought along off the table into his lap and flicking through the pages. You eyed him; the cigarette tucked between his teeth and plump lips, his brows drawn together slightly as he focused on the contents of the pages; big brown eyes darting over the words scribbled inside, "Drew it myself," He said, lifting the book up to show you the spider,
"Holy shit, Eds, it looks so cool!" You grinned, taking a bite of the melon,
"Thanks!" He said proudly, picking up the pencil that had fallen from between the pages and flicking to a half-empty page, "Took me forever deciding where I wanted it," He mumbled,
"It looks good where it is, babe," You told him, giving him a small smile and eating some more of your watermelon slice, "Oh- Hey Max!" You called, seeing her approach from the entrance to the trailer park on her skateboard. Considering she didn't look up at your loud yell, you guessed she must have her headphones on, "You think she's still super into Kate Bush?" You glanced over at Eddie,
"Probably," He murmured, the word muffled by the cigarette between his lips. His gaze flicked up to you, then Max in the distance, and then settled back to the notebook he was busy scribbling away in,
"Mh," You hummed. You took another drag before straightening and raising a free hand to wave at her as she approached. Seeing you, she effortlessly stepped off the board, walking a few steps and picking it up, before pulling the headphones off of her head and letting them sit around her neck. She came to a stop before the steps up to your trailer, glancing between you and Eddie,
"What?" She asked sharply,
"You having a good day, Red?" You heard Eddie ask,
"It... Was fine," She said, a little confused by his question,
"Anything fun happen?" You asked, leaning your elbows on your knees and letting your head rest in your hands, smiling at her, "Oh- you want some watermelon? I just cut it up- it's from the fridge so it's nice and cold," You offered, glancing behind you and picking the bowl up from the table, extending it out to her
"No," She shuffled in place a little,
"Damn... That's a shame," You said, setting the bowl back in its place, "Well, if you want any, you know who to ask," You told her, "Are you more into smoothies, by any chance?" You asked, "I have a blender and crazy experience making thick juice," You offered, smiling at the sight of the corners of her lips involuntarily lifting. She turned on her heel to walk to her neighbouring trailer,
"C'mon, Red," Eddie chimed in, "Their smoothies are a work of art- and that's coming from me," He called after her,
"Whatever," You heard her mutter before she quickly climbed the steps and entered the trailer,
"Damn," You sighed, leaning back in your chair and finishing the cigarette, stumping it out in the recently emptied ashtray,
"I could hear it from here," You heard Eddie chuckle to himself. You turned your body to look at him, leaning an arm on the table,
"Kate Bush?" You asked,
"Good, old Katie," He grinned. You gave him a playful glare,
"If you dare disrespect her, Eddie, I swear-"
"Wh- Disrespect?" He set the pencil between the pages of his book and closed it, setting it on the table, "When did I ever say anything disrespectful about Kate Bush, babe?" He said defensively, though there was an amused look on his face,
"You didn't, but I know how riled up you can get," You grinned, finishing your clice and setting the rind back into the bowl, "About what constitutes as 'real' music," You mimed air quotes before grabbing another slice,
"I would never say a bad thing about Kate Bush though, babe," He said, "Promice. Hand on heart; cross it and everything," He said, drawing a finger in two lines over the ink on his chest,
"Good," You raised your brows, "Cause she's like... Crazy amazing,"
"I know," He grinned, "I was the one who introduced you to her," He smiled,
"Cause the song came on the radio," You teased,
"In my car," He said with a smirk,
"Whatever," You rolled your eyes, sitting back in your chair and biting into the watermelon, quickly licking the juice that spilled onto your fingers. It was delightfully cold, thanks to you putting it in the fridge as soon as you got home from the grocery store earlier today. You only wished you could buy some stronger alcohol, or make a cocktail...
"Hey... Come here," Eddie mumbled, catching your attention. Once your eyes were on him, he removed the cigarette from of his mouth and tapped his leg with his free hand, shifting his legs so they were spread slightly wider apart,
"Why?" You asked, though you set your slice into the bowl and stood up without much hesitation. His smile simply widened as you approached him, carefully sitting in his lap and wrapping your arms around his neck. He hummed pleasantly, wrapping an arm around your middle to pull you closer,
"Missed you," He said simply, before tucking the cigarette back between his lips to take a drag,
"We spent the entire day together, babe," You reminded him, pulling the cigarette out of his lips and placing it between your own as he tilted his head back to exhale the smoke up into the air,
"Mhhm, and you dragged me around all these stupid stores and didn't let me have fun," He grinned, leaning forward to press a kiss to your cheek and taking his cigarette back,
"You almost got us kicked out, again," You grinned,
"I was just helping the mannequins express their feelings," He said with a nonchalant shrug. Your eyes flicked down to his neck, smiling and allowing your hand to gently caress the soft skin, "They've probably been stuck there for years in those awful shirts. I could sense a lot of anger coming from those plastic things," He said,
"You're a true hero, Eds," You smiled, "For mannequins all across America," You grinned,
"I work one store at a time," He said with a small smile. You laughed as he took another drag, "Can't believe we scored gold in that Goodwill," He said proudly,
"I know, right?" You grinned, "I finally got my own Pantera shirt," You said excitedly,
"I wonder who gave all of those shirts away," He muttered curiously,
"Someone cool?" You said, shifting a hand to play with strands of his hair, running your fingers through,
"Or someone lame," He suggested, glancing at the movements of your hands as your fingers began to carefully braid his hair, "In any case, we lucked out. You're like a good luck charm," He said with a proud smile,
"Me?" You asked amused, grinning as he moved his hand to touch yours, pulling your fingers away from his hair and pressing a kiss to the back of them,
"You," He murmured, brown, doe eyes meeting yours. He set the cigarette in the ashtray, letting both his hands wrap around you,
"Bet if you went to the store earlier without me you would have found those shirts anyways," You mumbled, rolling your eyes,
"Nah," He said, "But they'll make good replacements for all the shirts you stole from me," He said playfully, causing you to laugh,
"Maybe this is my way of giving them back to you," You joked,
"That's a really stupid way of giving me back my stuff, babe," He said, "Making me pay for my own stuff?"
"Eddie I'm j-"
"I know," He laughed, "I just like to tease you," He smirked, leaning back in his chair with a small sigh, "So! We have the rest of this wonderful day together. What do you suggest we do?" He asked, watching you expectantly. It was only the beginning of summer- the days would grow longer and hotter, and you'd be forced to get the AC fixed so you could seek comfort in the coolness of your home. That meant you couldn't really hang out in there. Eddie's trailer was always an option but it felt a little strange just inviting yourself there- besides, Wayne worked nights at the Plant, which meant he had to sleep all day. You couldn't play the TV too loud or yell or listen to loud music... You let your mind run as you leaned over Eddie, pulling the fruit bowl closer so you could munch on a slice as you thought. You'd already been and raided the nearby stores, and Hawkins was a shithole with nothing interesting ever happening here. The only thing left was...
"What about the arcade?" You said, raising your brows, "You can win me a teddy bear," You smiled,
"How romantic," He grinned, "But be warned, it will take me like... Six hours on Tetris to get enough tickets to afford one of those," He said, causing you to laugh,
"Damn- does the arcade even let people stay that late? Especially if they're awful at the game they're playing," You teased,
"Fine- you're not getting anything from me," He huffed playfully,
"Eddie- no!! Play anything but Tetris," You plead, grinning,
"Fine, fine. I'm pretty good at Pinball," He said, arms leaving you momentarily so he could stretch them above his head,
"You can't win tickets with Pinball. Also- pinball is the lamest game you can play at an arcade," You said, holding the slice out for him to take a bite of,
"Hold on-" He said surprised, gently moving your hand out of the way, "What did you just say?"
"Pinball is the lamest?" He opened his mouth in shock, and you smirked, moving the slice against his lips so he was forced to take a bite of the pink fruit, "What are you? An old man?" You grinned,
"Old men aren't the only ones who play pinball, babe!" He protested, yelping softly as some of the juice spilt out of his lips and down his chin. You laughed as he reached a hand to wipe his face and smirked, swallowing the food in his mouth and grabbing the slice from your hands,
"Yes, they are!" You laughed, shaking your head and getting off of his lap, "Oh my God- Eddie," You managed between laughter, having to lean your hand on the side of your trailer, "I have never met anyone who goes to an arcade thinking 'I'm going to play pinball', what the fuck?" You laughed,
"Listen- okay, okay. Since you think this is so fuckin' funny-" He said standing and following you as you stumbled inside your open front door, hardly breathing through your laughter, "-You haven't been here in a year, and, like, a bunch of the good machines broke down," He rambled,
"So it's the machine's fault you're horrible at the games," You grinned as you stepped into the warmer home, "Not your horrible game skills?" It was only a few degrees difference, though the change felt astronomical,
"Yeah- it is," He said, groaning as he followed you, feeling the warmth against his skin, "Shit- what's up with your AC?" He asked, watching as you removed the mass of black from the washer,
"Broken," You huffed, grabbing the basket and heading back outside,
"Why didn't you ask Wayne to fix it for you?" He frowned, walking to the broken machine and tapping it,
"He's asleep, right?" You said, glancing over at him, "I don't wanna wake him and waste his time," You sighed,
"Babe, your house is unliveable. I'll get him to fix it for you-"
"Don't we have plans to go to the arcade?" You asked, trying to quickly change the topic as you moved outside to the now empty line you shared with Max, beginning to hang up the wet shirts,
"Yeah, but-" He tried, following you quickly,
"Do you think Max'll wanna come with us?" You asked, glancing from her trailer, then back over your shoulder to see him standing on your porch and watching you. With a dejected sigh, he moved to sit down, his legs hanging over the edge of the porch, "Do kids nowadays even play arcade games anymore?" You asked more yourself as you got back to your task, running a hand over the wet, upside down 'Pantera' print,
"Of course they like arcade games," he said with a huff, "Everyone likes arcade games,"
"Good," You smiled, "I have faith in the new generation once again. And maybe she plays games that aren't Pinball or Tetris," You teased, "Maybe she's actually good," You added, "Maybe-"
"I swear to God if you make fun of me again..." You heard him say in a mock threatening tone,
"You'll what?" You grinned, setting the empty basket down and looking at him. A large grin spread over his face and he quickly hopped off the porch, "Oh no- Eddie, no-" You yelped as he suddenly grabbed you, picking you up and spinning you around and cackling, "Put me down!" You laughed loudly,
"You take everything you said back or I throw you in the dirt!" He said playfully,
"How about I don't!" You grinned, grabbing at his hands. He laughed again, setting you down but still holding on to you tightly. He opened his mouth again to say something, although-
"Gross," You heard from nearby, causing your head to look in the direction of the voice,
"Oh, hey Max!" You grinned at the red-headed girl now standing nearby in the shade between the two mobile homes. Eddie loosened his hold on you, letting you brush off your clothes and gather yourself, "We were just looking for you-"
"Why?" She asked,
"Well, uh... Eddie and I are planning on going to the arcade later and we wanted to know if you wanted to join us," You offered with a pleasant smile. She watched you with a frown, glancing between your faces, before narrowing her eyes,
"What's in it for you, huh?" She asked sceptically,
"Nothing...? We're just going to have fun and play games. Maybe get some milkshakes later or something?" You offered, glancing over at Eddie,
"C'mon, Red," Eddie piped up, moving to stand next to you, "It'll be fun; we used to go to the Palace all the time-" He gestured between you,
"Didn't we call it 'Our Palace' at some point?" You grinned, glancing back at him,
"Hell yeah," He grinned, "God, I used to kill on those pinball machines," He gave you a look, while you laughed at his statement, "Christ," He mumbled, rolling his eyes at your reaction, though smiled fondly at your laughter,
"Don't mind him- we played games other than Pinball," You assured her, "Have you ever been there, Max?" You asked the girl, and watched her cast her gaze downwards momentarily,
"Yeah... I used to go a lot, actually. It was the first place I'd go to when I first came here from California," She said, "I stopped going a few years ago... Cause of school? Haven't really been there since," She admitted,
"All the more reason for you to come with us!" You said eagerly, "Please? We promise we'll never bother you again," You plead, putting your hands together to emphasise your point. She glanced back at you and sighed,
"Fine," You both grinned happily, "I'll have to ask my mom,"
"That's fine- you be ready by 6," You told her eagerly, before grabbing Eddie's hand and dragging him back to your trailer,
"See you later, Red!" He called after her, laughing slightly as you dragged him inside your trailer.
It took a while for you to get ready. You had brought in the rest of your watermelon inside so the flies and wasps wouldn't gather around the fruit, eating the slices and trying to get Eddie to eat them with you, before cleaning your hands and changing into your outfit for the evening. Eddie left at your request to get ready himself, allowing you to freshen up and get ready in peace. Once you were finished, you walked out to meet up with Eddie and Max. Coincidentally, you walked out of your trailer at the same time as her, giving her a small nod and mentioning that Eddie was going to be your ride to the arcade. Once you locked your trailer, you joined her in the short walk over to his, lighting up a cigarette on your way there. Max had also changed and was holding a blue zip-up jacket for later in the evening, when the temperature would inevitably drop. Her hair, which had previously been braided, was out in loose waves and framing her pale face. She glanced at Eddie's trailer as you stopped, leaning against his van. You could faintly hear Black Sabbath playing from his open bedroom window,
"He's late," Max pointed out,
"He is... As usual," You let her know, "But he's our ride, so we gotta wait," You said with a sigh, "He's probably fixing up his hair- it usually takes a while, he's got a lot of it," You joked, smiling softly as she let out a quiet, breathy laugh,
"Yeah. Right," She nodded, eyeing the cigarette in your hand,
"Speaking of hair," You gestured to her, "Where's your Anne of Green Gable's schtick?" You asked,
"Didn't seem fitting for an arcade," She mumbled,
"Course," You smiled, "You excited to try any of the games there?" You asked,
"Excited?" She smiled slightly, "Do I look like a kid to you?"
"Well, you seemed eager to go," You shrugged, "I'm excited. I'm sure Eddie is too- oh! And if you're any good, you could teach him how to play Tetris!" You grinned,
"He doesn't know how to play Tetris?" She asked, blinking her wide eyes in surprise, "But it's so easy...!" She said, and you laughed softly, nodding,
"I know, right?" You smiled, glancing over her "He excels at DnD though... That might be the only game he's good at. As annoying it is watching him play the games and loose them, it's pretty funny," You grinned,
"Sure," She smiled slightly, glancing around in silence,
"I think your hair's cool, Max," You told her, "Pretty colour and all that," You said with a nod,
"What about my hair?" Eddie asked, walking out of the trailer and meeting you at the foot of the stairs,
"Not yours," You said, rolling your eyes, "Max's," You gestured to the girl. Eddie glanced over at her and nodded his head in a silent hello, before plucking the cigarette from your lips and taking a drag as he twirled his car keys in his hand. He was wearing a Metalica shirt under his leather jacket,
"Nice hair, Red," He complimented, "Now are you two ready for the greatest night of your lives?" He asked, glancing between you with a grin,
"In Hawkins?" You smirked, grabbing your cigarette back from his hands, "Never," You winked. Your grin widened at the way he looked at you after your wink,
"Right- not grand enough for you, Your Majesty?" He waved his hand in a mock bow, grabbing the door handle to the passenger side and pulling it open for you. With a grin, you stood a little taller,
"No. It never is," You said in a fancy tone, "Now take me to my Palace, your highness," You said playfully,
"Jesus fucking Christ you are both awful," Max muttered, shaking her head,
"You wanna be called your highness too, Red?" Eddie asked with a smirk,
"I was promised a ride to the arcade," She said, "My mom gave me a 9 pm curfew, so..."
"Right- and we're losing daylight," Eddie clicked his fingers in understanding. He walked over to the back door, opening it and gesturing for her, "M'lady, your chariot awaits," He said dramatically, smiling at her. With another eye roll and a 'whatever' muttered under her breath, Max climbed into the back. You shut the door after her and climbed into the passenger seat, while Eddie moved around to the drivers side, and you drove off into town,
"Did you eat dinner yet, Red?" You asked, busy shuffling through the tapes you found in the car,
"Huh?" She asked, "Oh uh... Yeah," She said quietly,
"Is that a lie?" Eddie asked, glancing in the rearview mirror to see her face. You did the same, watching her blink, before quickly glancing out of the window,
"...No," She said in an unconvincingly way,
"Well I haven't," You chimed in, "But I'm not hungry right now," You said quickly, seeing Max glare at you through the mirror, "We should go buy pizza after we finish up at the arcade," You glanced over at Eddie,
"Hell yeah, we can stop by a Pizza hut and get those breadsticks you like," He grinned, giving you a knowing look,
"Nice- sound good to you Max?" You turned your head to look over your shoulder at her. A small, involuntary smile spread on her thin lips, though she quickly turned her head to try to hide it from you,
"Sure... Sounds good," She confirmed, glancing down at her feet and shuffling them slightly. With a satisfied smile, you looked back to the tapes you had left discarded in your lap, continuing to flip through and listening to the gentle clatter of plastic against plastic,
"Here," Eddie mumbled beside you, reaching over and opening the glove compartment. Thankfully, you were at a red stop light. Curiously, you watched his hand as he shuffled through the stuff thrown there carelessly. Your eyes focused on his rings, faintly glittering in the light from outside. You always had a fondness for them, loving the way they looked against his rough hands, and how cold they felt compared to the warmth of his skin. He finally pulled a tape out, and you glanced over the cover, "Put this one in," He said softly,
"'Kill 'Em All'," You read, sliding the tape out of the cover and  looking it over, "Is this new?"
"Nope. I just lost it," He said, smiling once you set the tape in and placed the others back, "And then found it again when I was cleaning my van a few days ago. Hey, Max, you good with loud music?" He asked as 'Hit The Lights' started blaring loudly from the speakers,
"Yeah," She said softly. You expected another annoyed 'whatever' but the girl just kept silent, looking out of the window,
"Good- loud is good," Eddie smirked, giving you a glance and winking back teasingly,
"Hah- yeah," You grinned as the heavy guitar riffs came in and you turned the music back up. The ride into town wasn't too long, though by the time you arrived at the arcade, your hair was all messed up, considering you had rolled the windows down and spent the majority of the ride nodding your head to the music and laughing along with Eddie. Max was silent the whole time, only staring out of the window at the houses zooming past the van. Her hair covered her face so you couldn't see her expression, though it didn't appear she minded the loud music, or the way the car shook at your limited dancing, or your screaming along to the lyrics. You hopped out of the parked vehicle, glancing at the spinning 'Palace Arcade' sign, then flicking your gaze to the building. The lights were already lit, though the sun's light drowned them out so you couldn't appreciate the bright colours they'd usually cast across the parking lot. Outwardly, it was still the same as you remembered when you were there last year, and since you drove by it earlier today,
"Ready?" Eddie asked, coming to stand beside you, hands tucked into the pockets of his leather jacket and a small smile set on his lips as he watched you, "Also, is this our..." he trailed off, shuffling his boots against the gravel bellow, "Uh... How do..."
"Our...?" You looked at him expectantly. He opened his mouth, but the words fell short and he found himself unable to look at you. You narrowed your eyes, before realising, "Like our first date?" You asked, "As a couple?" He smiled at your words,
"Uh... Yeah," He nodded, "My first date with you," He said fondly, "I should have taken a camera," He huffed,
"We can always take a picture after," You nodded to the building, before walking forward so you could stand in front of him, "I'm looking forward to this date with you, Munson," You said, watching the grin forming on his face,
"I'll make it worth your while, babe," He said, walking forward to press a kiss to your forehead. You hummed pleasantly, before glancing back to his van,
"I love going out on dates and babysitting," You said playfully, "Speaking of-" You knocked on the back window, causing Max to jump, startled. She hadn't moved since you parked, appearing distracted. She gave you a confused look, before you pointed to the arcade behind you, "We're here!" You said, opening the door for her. She slid over, considering she was on the other side, and hopped out, looking at the building before her, "Hey, are you okay-"
"I'm fine," She said quickly, giving you a stern look. You held your hands up in surrender,
"Just making sure. We can always uh... Do something else," You offered,
"No, I just..." She sighed, glancing in the car as Eddie locked it, "I left my jacket in there," She told him,
"Oh, that's fine. It's warm now anyways and we'll come back," He gave her a reassuring smile, "You'll get your precious jacket back soon. Now come on! Let's play games," He said excitedly, eagerly walking over to you and grabbing your hand, pulling you towards the arcade.
Inside, it still looked the same, aside from a few new machines you were excited to try. You glanced over your shoulder to make sure Max was still following along, motioning for her to join you at an ATM to exchange the ten dollars you had brought along for quarters, one by one. Once you all had your money, you followed Eddie as he made a beeline to a machine,
"Pong?" Max asked as he slipped the change into the machine,
"Yeah! We used to play this all the time," Eddie said, glancing over at you with a wide grin, "You ever play?" He asked Max,
"Have I ever played Pong?" She asked with a slight smile, moving to stand next to him, "I heard you can't even play Tetris," You laughed as Eddie cast you a glare,
"Oh yeah? Well, I'm not losing to a child," He said, determination clear in his tone,
Eddie did, in fact, lose to Max. Badly. And when he started getting low on quarters and playfully frustrated, he insisted you tag in. She was good- really good. Normally, losing a few rounds would hurt your ego, but considering how much she was smiling and laughing now was worth the shame of losing to a freshman. She eventually pulled you away, bored of her near-constant victories to play air hockey,
"I'm with Max!" You said quickly, moving to stand next to her,
"Two against one? That's not fair!" Eddie whined,
"Fine- you play against her and I'll be the ref," You said, searching through your pockets for a dollar,
"And let her beat me again?" Eddie protested, "Hell no,"
"What is it, Munson? Are you afraid to lose to a child again?" You teased, leaning your hands on the side of the table,
"Yeah, Munson," You heard Max say besides you, handing you a dollar that you could put into the machine, "Looser buys us all candy?" She offered. He smirked, moving his hand out for her to shake,
"You're dead, Red," He grinned playfully, taking his spot at the end of the table and watching the rather intense game.
Eddie graciously bought you all a bunch of Nerds, Pop Rocks, Pixie Stix and Fun Dip. Max mentioned something about wanting to play Dig Dug and disappeared off down the aisles to find it, sneakily stealing the full bag of candy with her while Eddie distracted you with his annoyed mumblings of losing two games to a freshman,
"Aw man, my candy necklaces," You pouted when you noticed she was gone,
"C'mon- I wanna show you something," Eddie grinned, grabbing your hand and pulling you to another game,
"But what if she eats all of our candy?" You asked with a soft smile,
"First of all, I don't think it's humanly possible to eat that much candy at once without your teeth falling out," He said, casting you a glance,
"This is coming from the same Eddie Munson who won't eat his fruits and veggies?" You teased,
"Shut up," He rolled his eyes with a smirk, "Anyways," He glanced up at the name of one of the machines, before gesturing to it,
"Centipede?" You read the writing at the top, "This one's new, right?" You asked, not recognising it. Eddie nodded,
"Go ahead," He motioned for the machine,
"I don't know how to play it, Eds," You said, "Don't wanna waste my precious quarters on a game I'm not gonna be good at,"
"Then let me show you," He prompted,
"You and your history of being awful at games?" You asked playfully, digging through your pockets for some change,
"Babe," He whined, "Come on, please?" He smiled. With a sigh, you moved forward, placing your quarter in and straightening up. It surprised you a little as he moved up behind you, putting his hands over yours and resting his chin on your shoulder, "Here, like this," He said softly, considering he was so close to your ear,
"Okay," You started the game, eyes darting over the screen as he started it, "Woah- why does it split up like that? What?" You laughed softly as you shot at the bug. Eddie moved his hands over yours so his fingers pressed against yours on the buttons. You'd played games together multiple times- Eddie behind you with a gentle hold on to your hands, occasionally fighting for control over the buttons and laughing as you playfully yelled at him to get off because you were going to get a 'Game Over' and waste your money. All in good spirits of course. You revelled in the closeness of him in this sort-of hug. Now you were finally together as a couple, it felt different. The gentle kisses he'd press to your cheek and neck, or simply blowing cold air onto your skin, grinning as it caused you to shiver, were incredibly distracting, but you couldn't deny that it felt nice, and beautifully intimate,
"Damn, you've been making fun of how bad I am at Tetris when you can't even play Centipede," He smirked, pressing another kiss to your cheek before letting go of you, standing to the side, grinning proudly,
"If you weren't distracting me, Eddie, I might have won," You huffed, "Or at least get a high score," You huffed, glancing at the flashing 'Game Over' screen. You glanced down at the names next to the high scores, noticing 'Mad Max' filling some of the bottom slots- could that potentially be your red-headed companion, blissfully distracted by you and Eddie and eagerly tapping away at the buttons on Dig Dug? Glancing up higher, through the less familiar names, your eyes widened at the top two, "No-"
"Yes," Eddie grinned beside you,
"No," You repeated, jaw-dropping at the two names at the top, "You beat Henderson at this!?" Your eyes widened, glancing over at him smiling proudly,
"Kid's got a vendetta against me because I kicked his ass on here," He said, "I wanted to see how you would do," He said,
"You just distracted me the whole time, Eds! I had no chance!"
"Uh- I helped?" He said, "And now you can't make fun of me for being bad at games," He grinned, "Here, watch me, it's honestly really simple," He playfully pushed your arm so you'd step out the way,
"And here I thought your gaming talents ended at DnD," You teased, folding your arms and watching him straighten up, hair bouncing once he placed his own quarter into the machine,
"I'll let this one slide, but if you offend me one more time," He held up his finger in mock warning,
"You'll what?" You challenged, grinning, "Huh? Huh? What're you gonna do Munson?" You grinned, moving to stand very close to him. He only smiled down at you, soft eyes flicking over your face, and making you momentarily forget your playful conflict. He quickly broke the eye contact, glancing at the screen, then looking at you with a slight glare,
"I'll make you walk all the way home," He settled, smirking proudly and starting the game, quickly tapping the buttons,
"Oh, yeah?" You asked, looking over his shoulder at the screen. He clearly knew what he was doing, fully focused on the screen. Leaning closer to his ear, your grinned, "Make me," You hissed, quickly moving away and smirking at the way his eyes widened and he looked at you quickly. You were already walking away towards Max, though you glanced back and blew a playful kiss at him, "You better win that game now, babe!" You called back to him, watching him shake his head and grin, glancing back at the screen, "How's it going Max?" You asked, looking over her at the screen, "Holy shit- you're on round six!?" You said proudly,
"Yeah," She murmured, concentrating hard,
"How are you so good at Dig Dug?" You marvelled, staring at the screen and then glancing down at Max's hands as she expertly played the level,
"Got a lot of practice back in California," She mumbled, blue eyes darting around the screen in full concentration, "They have the same machine up there. And I spent a lot of time here when I first came to Hawkins," She said, a small smile appearing on her lips as the screen flashed brightly, indicating she passed the level,
"Nice, Max!" You grinned, lifting a hand up for her to high-five, "Max... MADMAX? You've had the top high scores on this game for years now," You smiled as her hand slapped against your own, "That's real talent kid," You complimented,
"It's a simple game," She shrugged, though the smile didn't leave her lips. She ended up scoring sixty-eight thousand points and you grinned, feeling like a kid at the sight of all the tickets pouring out of the machine, "Damn," she hissed, standing back as the screen displayed 'Game Over',
"What?" You asked with a small smile,
"I got third place," She said with a small frown, "I used to be way better," She glanced at the high scores that both displayed MADMAX,
"Are you hearing yourself?" Eddie spoke up, grinning. He had quietly joined you a few moments ago, holding a bunch of tickets he won at Centipede, "You got third place-" He leaned over to tap the screen, "-And first, and second. You're the entire podium!"
"Still. I should have done better," She said, glancing around at the other machines,
"Meh- I say you did great," Eddie grinned, reaching over and ruffling her hair, "C'mon!" He eagerly scooped up her tickets, swiftly moving to another machine, "Let me show you how it's done!" He said, stopping at the Pacman machine and shoving the tickets into your arms,
"Eddie's awful at Pacman," You whispered to Max, earning a small laugh from her that caused you both to lighten up as he started playing, "He always loses, but he likes the noises,"
"Babe, stop throwing me under the bus like this- Max, I'm great-" The telltale sound of Pacman dying came from the machine, "The fuck!?" He exclaimed, causing you to laugh as he smacked at the console,
"Eddie, don't break it!" You quickly grabbed at his arm, smirking, "My turn," You pushed him away with the tickets and focused on the game as the next round started, "See, what you're doing wrong is you're going after the power-ups first; you only go after 'em if the ghosts are chasing you," You muttered, "Max, get over here to watch the pro," You grinned, standing aside so she could watch you,
"Pro?" Eddie asked amused, "You got on the leaderboard once, babe. Humble yourself," You gasped at that,
"Excuse me, how many times have you been on the leaderboard, Munson?" You challenged,
"Well, on Centipede and Dragon's Lair-"
"I don't give a shit about those- I'm talking about Pacman," You smirked, "How many times have you beaten the first level of Pacman, Munson? Huh?" You teased, managing to kill one of the ghosts with the immunity buff,
"Damn- you can't even get over the first Pacman level, Eddie?" You heard Max ask from beside you,
"The game's hard!" He protested, though you could hear the smile in his voice. He stood behind you, an arm snaking around your waist and his head resting on your shoulder as he watched your movements,
"Get the cherries!!" Max chimed in, from the side. She sounded so happy- and when you completed the level, your small audience erupted into eager cheers, Eddie gripping your shoulders and shaking them slightly,
"Max- you do this level now. We'll take turns!" You said eagerly, ushering her to take your place and grinning as she started playing, "Eds, you can watch," You teased, turning to see him looking mock offended,
"Wh- Why!?" He whined,
"Uh- you cost us one of your lives," Max chimed in, "You're not touching this game again," She said playfully,
"Hear that Munson?" You smirked, glancing back at the screen to watch Max play,
"Well, I'm the one holding all of your tickets," He said, indicating to the large mass of tickets he held, "I can easily go cash these in for a bunch of sticky hands and worms on strings," He teased,
"You wouldn't have those if it wasn't for our skills!" Max grinned,
"She has a point, Eds," You grinned, "That'd be stealing," You said, to which he huffed and rolled his eyes,
"So no disappearing ink?" He pouted at you,
"Why are you so hung up on the disappearing ink?" You asked with a wide smile,
"Because it's cool!" He grinned, "And you can only see it with a black light!" He grinned. You made a face, sticking your tongue out,
"Yuk- I don't want to go near you with a black light-" You muttered,
"Shit!!" Max cursed as Pacman's death sound effect played from the machine. She hit it with her hand, wincing at the impact. With a small frown, you walked over to her as 'Game Over' flashed across the screen,
"Hey," You said, "It's fine! I'm kinda tired from all these games. Why don't we cash in our tickets and go... Eat pizza?" You suggested, glancing from Eddie to Max,
"Sure," She sighed, and you gently touched her shoulder walking to the prize counter and looking over all the things on display. From puzzles to gimmicky items stacking the shelves behind a clerk, and plushies hanging from the ceiling on strings, you let out a small sigh, eyes settling on a lava lamp momentarily, before rolling your eyes at the 'grand prize- 10,000 tickets!' scrawled underneath it,
"You ever get one of those?" You asked Max, pointing to the assortment of large teddy bears, dragons and various other stuffed toys,
"No... I doubt we'll be able to afford any of them," She shrugged, "Usually I could only afford the candy," She sighed,
"Me too. I did get a mug one time though. With Kermit the Frog on it," You smiled, "Spent a lot of time on solo pong though... Not too much fun playing it by yourself," You said, "I still have it. I drink hot cocoa out of it every winter," You smiled softly,
"You?" Max asked amused, "You like the muppets?" She smiled softly,
"What can I say? I have a soft spot for that funky little green guy," You grinned, clicking your fingers, "Too bad we can't afford any of the cool toys," You huffed,
"Whoever told you that?" Eddie grinned, appearing out of nowhere, "Let's get these counted," He gestured to the large ball of tickets. It seemed to have doubled in the few moments he was away from you, and when he placed them on the counter for the employee to count, you noticed two sticks of unopened tickets in his back pockets. How he managed to get those was a mystery to you. Catching you staring, he gave you a wink, "I'm gonna head to the bathroom. You guys pick out a good prize," He said playfully, walking behind the machines, away from the employee's view and pulling the two wads of tickets out, unfurling them to try make it look like they came from the machines,
"Where the hell did he get those?" Max hissed to you, eyes widened mouth agape as she looked from him to you,
"Eddie... Has his ways..." Was all you could say, stumped as to where he even found them, "I sort of figured it's best not to question things like this by now," You told her, glancing at the tickets. He promptly returned with another ball of unfurled tickets and a proud smirk on his face as the employee sent him a glare, considering they had to count more tickets. You heard him briefly mention he forgot them and attempted to distract the employee in hopes that'd get you more tickets. You moved to the side with Max, glancing at the prizes that were worth thousands, "Got your eye on anything, Red?" You asked, leaning your elbows on the glass counter, "Perhaps a Carebear?" You suggested,
"What about that?" She pointed,
"You're talking about the Popples?" You smiled, "I always loved those- my family could never afford them but I always thought they were so cute," You said,
"What even are they?" She smiled,
"Don't know, and I don't think I care. They just look cute for kids," You shrugged, "Which one d'you want?"
"What?" She asked, her smile faltering,
"What?" You mimicked, moving one of your arms so it was leaning on the counter, "I asked you to pick one," You nodded to the toys,
"Are... You sure?" She frowned, "They're your tickets..." She said, brows knitting together,
"You won more games than me," You winked, "C'mon Red, just-"
"But what about you?" She asked quickly,
"What about me?" You smiled, "C'mon, Red. This is for you- you deserve a reward for wrecking a super Senior and a college student at arcade games," You rolled your eyes. She was still looking at you with a confused look. You glanced back at the plushies, "Fine. Get a Care Bear instead," You prompted,
"But do you-"
"C'mon Red!" You groaned, "Look how sad Funshine Bear looks!" You pointed to the smiling yellow bear, "It's begging for you to take them home!" You grinned. She looked at you with wide eyes, still searching your face, as if she was looking for any hint of a lie, or... Some other emotions. She quickly looked back at the high-end prizes,
"We've got a good nine 'k' built up; that means thousand," Eddie grinned at you,
"Proud of you for learning that one, babe," You smirked, patting his chest gently, "You can get so much disappearing ink with that," You teased,
"Well now I'm not gonna get any," He pouted playfully,
"So what are you getting?" The tired employee said, glancing between the three of you. You looked at Max expectantly,
"Care bear; care bear," You quietly chanted at her confused face. She smiled slightly, rolling her eyes and looking back at the prizes,
"Can I get the... One of the Popples?" She asked softly, moving to place her hands on the counter, pointing out the one she wanted to the employee,
"You still have three thousand left," They said, placing the toy in front of Max and removing the price tag. It took you a while to choose through the various smaller prizes, trying to spend all your tickets so you had zero left. Your purchases included: three sticky hands for each of you; a few string worms for Eddie; matching space-themed keyrings for Eddie and you; disappearing ink; a bunch of temporary tattoos; and finally, more candy. You soon left, climbing into the van and speeding away. You grinned, throwing Pez pellets from a shitty dispenser at Eddie as he attempted to catch them in his mouth while he drove you to Pizza Hut.
Eddie brought up that you should probably share the pizza and then asked about the toppings you would both like. Max was mostly quiet, and you were fine with most things... That was until he jokingly brought up getting pineapple or banana. Even Max joined your fierce protests against them. You ended up getting half just cheese and half with toppings you mutually agreed on with Max, considering how iffy Eddie could be with certain ingredients,
"This'd be so good if it was Hawaiian," Eddie smirked at you over a mouthful of pizza,
"Eddie, you're very close to losing your speaking privileges," You grinned as he threw his head back and laughed, "Why are you so insistent on getting pineapple and banana on our pizza? You want to watch the world burn that bad?" You asked,
"You are correct, my dear," He smirked,
"That poor worker at the arcade wasn't enough for you?" You smiled at him,
"They counted wrong. And if they didn't want me to find their extra tickets, they should have hidden them better," He shrugged, "Besides, you know I'm only kidding about the fruits, right?"
"I knew you were joking," you gave him a sceptical look, before glancing over at Max, "He hates fruits," you let her know,
"Really?" You nodded with a small hum,
"Yeah, he does," You smiled, "I work at Sam's Smoothie Shack and I basically have to force him to drink the smoothies I make," You said, before glancing over at him, "Speaking of you hating fruits," You glared at him, "If we did get pineapple or banana, you wouldn't even eat it,"
"Nope," He smirked,
"So why would..." You trailed off, confused,
"Just to piss you off," He grinned,
"Eddie that'd be such a waste," You huffed, rolling your eyes as he laughed again,
"But it would be funny!" He said,
"Whatever," You smiled, looking over at Max, "Hey why aren't you eating?" You asked,
"Oh, I... I can have more?" She asked uncertainly. You looked at her, incredulously,
"Of course you can!" You smiled, "You think we can eat this whole thing just by ourselves?" You said, gesturing to the partially eaten pizza,
"Well..." Eddie said, before wincing your name as you kicked him under the table,
"Max, eat as much pizza as you want. We can even ask for a to-go box if you wanna take this home and reheat it later," You smiled at her, "It's no good cold, so get to eating," You reassured her, before your attention quickly snapped to Eddie, "You too- I don't want to hear any more about your weird pizza combos," You said, tapping Eddie's hand as he reached for another slice,
"Speaking of-" He smirked, "What if we put the pizza in a blender?" He smirked as you groaned his name in protest, "What? You expect me to drink mushy, blendy raspberries but not blended pizza?" He grinned, starting up yet another playful, bickering session between the three of you. At least Max was having a good time.
When you left, the sun had almost set, only a sliver of orange left, sitting far on the horizon The sky was primarily filled with a wonderful dark blue and speckled with bright stars. You remembered learning that most of them were likely suns at the centre of other galaxies, likely filled with their own solar systems, full of their own people or aliens... But most of them were likely dead, the visuals of them exploding into novas or supernovas taking light years to reach the earth and your gaze. But who cared if they were all dead? As long as you could see them, they were real, right?
You hummed along to the quiet music, the same Metallica tape playing quietly now as you stared out at the darkened houses and streets of Hawkins. The city was so much more peaceful at night, when the inhabitants were sleeping and the streets were relatively empty, safe for the occasional fox or cat that darted across the street. When you were younger, you thought the darkness was scary; some unseen monster hiding away in the shadows. Now, it just felt serene and calm- a small, anxious, part of you maybe still believed there were monsters lurking away somewhere, but with Eddie at your side... Actually, he probably wouldn't do a lot to scare them away. He'd likely run away. But he'd run away with you so... Technically, you were in safe hands?
"What's on your mind?" He asked softly, his hand coming to rest on your leg, gently moving over your knee. You sighed, shifting to lean back in your seat and stretching your arms above your head,
"Hawkins... How quiet it is," You said softly, glancing over at him to see him smile, "You,"
"Me?" He asked surprised
"You," You grinned softly at the feigned disbelief on his face, "I had fun on our first official date, Eds,"
"I'm glad," He smiled, gently squeezing your leg, patting it, then putting his hand back on the gear shift, "Mine or yours?" He asked,
"Mine- I gotta collect my laundry before someone steals my Pantera shirt," You sighed,
"Already so attached?" He asked, smiling softly as he put his leg back on your knee. You placed your hand over his, skimming your fingers over his rings,
"Mhm," You smiled,
"Aw," He cooed, smiling softly, "By the way, I asked Wayne if he could fix up your AC," He said,
"Wh- Eddie," You said with a small frown, "You... Didn't need to," You said,
"Mmmh, I kinda did," He said, giving you a look. As you looked away, getting ready to protest again, he said your name to try and get your attention back on him, "I've known you the better part of my life, and I know that you're just gonna leave it broken and complain about it never being fixed," He said softly, "I wanted to do something nice for you," He glanced over at you. You couldn't stop the small smile that found its way onto your lips,
"Remind me to pay Wayne back for his kindness," You sighed, leaning back in your seat,
"I won't," He said with a small smile, "Besides, if you want me hanging around you all summer, you better have that thing fixed because earlier today?" He huffed, "I thought I was gonna die!" He said dramatically,
"Uhuh. Yeah," You smiled at him. With a sigh, you cast a glance in the rearview mirror, catching sight of Max in the reflection, "You good, Red?" You asked softly, turning your head to look at the girl in the back. She was staring out of the window blankly, eyes shutting slowly with the gentle lulling of the van. You smiled to yourself, "Max," You prompted, making her sit up and look at you,
"Yeah?" She hummed tiredly,
"Are you alright?" You asked again,
"Uhuh... Yeah," She nodded, fiddling with a hairband around her wrist. Her jacket was draped over her legs, as if it was a blanket,
"Beating us at arcade games tired you out this much, huh?" She smiled at your words,
"Maybe," She mumbled, leaning her head back against the seat and turning her head back to the window. You shifted back so you were sitting straight in your seat with a small smile, glancing at Eddie. He was already looking at you with an affectionate smile, but averted his gaze back to the road when you caught him staring.
The rest of the drive was quiet; the usual loud music turned down so you could only faintly hear it. It was peaceful: you humming along to the melodies; Eddie's fingers tapping along to the beat; the road stretching out into the darkness before you. All too quickly, he was pulling up in front of the Munson trailer at Forest Hills, and the sound of the three doors opening echoed into the quiet,
"You good going home by yourself, Max?" Eddie asked, walking around to stand next to you,
"Yeah- make sure you don't forget your jacket or your prize," You smiled, leaning your back against the van and glancing at Max as she walked in front of you,
"Right," She looked over them, before looking up at you, "Can you hold this? I want to put my jacket on," Eddie quickly moved forward, taking the plush from her as she thanked him. He looked over the Popple's face, handing it back to her,
"Cute," He commented, setting his hands in his jean pockets,
"Are you sure you don't want it?" She asked, holding the creature in her hands and looking it over with a small frown, "I mean, isn't this like a couple thing to do? Win prizes at arcades for each other?" She glanced between you,
"Mmh- but you can also get them for friends," Eddie said. You felt him tapping your shoulder, and when you looked at him, he was holding a lit cigarette out for you to take, "It's yours to keep, kid," He smiled in reassurance,
"Oh!" She looked over the stuffed animal again, blinking and with a look of bewilderment on her face, "Uhm... Thanks, Eddie," She nodded her head to him, then thanked you quietly, "Tonight was... Was good," She said,
"No problem- I'm glad you had a good evening," You said, taking hold of Eddie's hand once he locked the van, "Ready to go home now?" You asked, nodding towards the two trailers,
"Sure," She said quietly, still staring at the toy, transfixed. She followed after you silently. The night was pleasant, a soft breeze blowing through your hair and sending a chill across your skin. At your shivering, Eddie took the cigarette from your lips and held out his jacket,
"You'll be cold," You said with a frown,
"You'll be warm," He said with a smile, causing you to roll your eyes and take the jacket from him. It was warm from his body heat, and the smell of cheap cologne and weed filled your senses- the comforting smells of home, "See? You look better in my clothes anyway," He said, moving an arm around your shoulders with a smile,
"How cute, Eds," You said, taking the cigarette back from him and placing it between your lips to take a drag. You finally made it to your trailer, picking up the laundry basket you had left behind and quickly taking down the shirts, folding them as you stacked them in the basket. Glancing over you saw Eddie sitting on the top step of your trailers porch, quietly talking with Max as he smoked your cigarette,
"You got a name for the little guy?" He asked, nodding to the plushie in her hands,
"A name?" She asked quietly,
"You never named your stuffed animals as a kid?" He asked, raising his brows,
"No..." She said,
"Well, I think he deserves a name," He pointed to it, "How about... Frederik... Frederik the First," He smiled, "He strikes me as a... Thing with an 'F' name," He said,
"Why the first?" She asked,
"First one to get a name from you. And it rhymes," He explained,
"It's alliteration..." She said quietly,
"That's the one with the letters being the same?" He asked, taking a drag as she nodded, "'F' and 'F'. Huh... Well, if you don't like Frederik the First, give him a different one... Or her!" He smiled, moving his arms out. She regarded the toy for a moment, thinking,
"Francis the... Fast," She said, glancing up at him for approval,
"Cause he's fast?" He smiled,
"Well yeah... She kinda looks like a rabbit I had back home in California," She said, moving a hand to touch the soft fur on the Popple's face, "She wasn't called Francis, she was called Hoppy,"
"That's cute," Eddie said, nodding, "Predictable for a rabbit but what can you say?" He shrugged, "Did she like hopping?"
"Mhm," She hummed softly, smiling at the fond memory, "Yeah she... She was great... And then she ran away," She frowned softly, "My stepbrother... He forgot to close her cage... I cried for weeks hoping she would come back," She said with a small frown, "But she never did..."
"Well," He sighed, "Things like that happen," Eddie nodded, "I had a puppy that ran away," He sighed sadly,
"Really?"  She asked,
"Mhm. My dad got super drunk and left the door open. I was, like, eight?" He put a hand on his chest, "My first heartbreak," He said dramatically, leaning backwards on his arm, "Sometimes I still think I can hear Lucky barking for me to let him back in," He sniffled as you approached, setting the basket by your front door with a small laugh,
"Eddie, you better not let anything that's whining under your window inside," You smiled, taking a seat next to him. Eddie moved an arm around your waist, drawing you closer to him, "Last time you freaked out over a possum," You reminded him,
"I'm smart- I won't let a possum back inside, babe," He shifted his head to kiss your cheek reassuringly before his gaze travelled back to Max. She had gone quiet, still staring at the toy in her hands, "Are you sure you're okay, Max?" Eddie asked, the worry clear in his tone as he watched the girl standing before you. She glanced up, and from the faint light, you could see faint tear tracks were staining her face. She quickly whipped it dry, a look of anger crossing her face, before it quickly faded. She opted to look away from you both instead. You let the tense silence hang in the air, glancing at Eddie and meeting his concerned gaze as you both figure out what was best to say to her. Slowly, she moved to sit down on the bottom step,
"Metalica... The Four Horsemen... Billy liked those songs," She mumbled, more to herself. She drew the toy close to her chest, hugging it,
"Billy "The Asshole" Hargreeves listened to Metalica?" Eddie muttered in disbelief; you shoved his shoulder slightly at the comment, "What!? Is it so hard to believe that waste of space gave them the time of day?" Eddie said with a frown,
"Eds, he was her brother," You hissed, glancing at Max, "Sorry h-"
"No, it's fine. Billy was... An asshole," She sighed, rubbing her clothed arms with a small frown, "The music just reminded me of him... And the way that things used to be when he was still around," She said softly. You remained silent, letting her talk. Somewhere deep down, you felt she needed this- to talk to someone, "They weren't great... I mean, he drove me to the arcade, but he never went inside like you did. Sometimes he got out of the car to talk to a girl. He never went inside to play games with me..." You heard a small sniffle, "He never won me prizes, or let me keep them... We were never close, but I still cared for him... And maybe that was my fault,"
"Your fault?" Eddie asked softly. She shook her head,
"That... We weren't close," She sighed. Did she want to say something else? "He was my step brother. He barely tolerated me in California. He hated that we were related. I thought if we moved to Hawkins things would be okay... But then they weren't," You frowned softly, brows drawing together, confused,
"H-" Eddie started, but you quickly tapped his chest with your free hand, drawing his attention,
"Shh," You hissed quietly. In the dim, moonlight, you might have seen the twinkle of fresh tears rolling down her cheeks, had she not moved her head to look downwards and pick at the fraying material of her shorts,
"Today was one of the best days I've had in a while," She admitted, and though you couldn't see her face, you could tell she had a slight smile on her lips from how her tone shifted, "And all you guys did was play games and ate food with me," She said quietly,
"Well, sometimes that's all you need," Eddie smiled, leaning forward to ruffle her hair, "Eat food and play games with your friends. You let us know anytime when you want to go back down there and kick ass at Dig Dug again. Or Pacman," He glanced over at you,
"Mhm," You confirmed, "We're always here for you, Max," You said, reaching a hand over to place it on her shoulder, "Us... 'Trailer Trash' gotta stick together, right?" You gave her a reassuring smile. She smiled back with a small nod, whipping her face again,
"Sure..." She stood slowly, looking at the plush in her hands, shaking slightly,
"You have a goodnight," Eddie wished,
"You guys too," She said, waving a hand. You watched as she walked the short distance to her own trailer, waving once again as she noticed you watching her, before unlocking the door and disappearing inside,
"I hope she's doing okay," You mumbled softly, letting out a sigh and rubbing a hand over your face,
"She's okay for now," Eddie murmured beside you. You felt a gentle kiss being pressed to the side of your head, "We did what we could... Come on- it's getting cold, even for me now," He said, moving his hand to rub your arm. With a grimace, you stood and grabbed the laundry basket, while he stubbed his cigarette out,
"I just wish we could do more for her... Do you think it's too much if I bring over lunch tomorrow? Or breakfast?" You frowned, glancing over as he stood up, throwing the butt of his stubbed cigarette into the darkness,
"How about you just invite her if you run into her?" He suggested. Glancing up at him, you saw him offering a hand out for you to take, "We let her know today she has us if she needs us. And she has her mom to take care of her," Gently sliding your soft hand into his rougher one, you let him pull you towards your front door got your keys out,
"Yeah, but if she's anything like mine was..." You trailed off with a long sigh, "But you're right. At least we made sure today was a good day for her," You smiled softly to yourself as you entered your home. A soft sigh left your lips at the coolness inside- you'd have to bake Wayne cookies or something as a thank you present, "We can go to the arcade some other time again," You said, "Since she said she liked it,"
"We'll go whenever you want, babe," he said from behind you, entering after you and locking the door behind him, "Where's that camera of yours?" He asked, walking around,
"It's up on that shelf-" You pointed it out for him, "I brought it all the way back down to Hawkins with me. It should still have some film. You want a beer?" You asked as you headed for the kitchen, sliding the jacket off of your shoulders and setting it on the back of one of the dining chairs,
"Nah- not really," He said, approaching you with the camera and turning on the kitchen light,
"Oh?" You murmured surprised, turning and leaning your arms back against the kitchen counter, watching him curiously,
"Not thirsty," He said with a wink. There it was again. You grinned, moving so you were standing next to him, illuminated by the overhead kitchen light. He held the camera up, snapping a picture of the two of you together, smiling into the lens. As it instantly printed, he grabbed it, shaking it and setting it off to the side to develop "Kiss me on the cheek?"
"Why?" You asked with a smile
"For the picture," He smiled holding the camera up again as you placed a hand on his shoulder to get closer,
"Is one for me and one for you?" You asked in an amused tone, standing on your tiptoes to kiss his cheek,
"Mhm," He hummed, snapping another picture and shaking that one out too, "We'll have these ready by tomorrow," He said, setting the camera down next to them and looking at you,
"That's good. I'll look at them before work," You smiled,
"Work," He sighed, moving closer to you and setting a hand behind you on the counter to prop himself up as he leaned down to kiss your cheek, "Do you have to go?" He asked with a small pout,
"Unfortunately," You smiled at him, "You can always come and visit me though- you're my most valued customer, Eds. Even though you never buy anything," You said playfully, setting a hand on his shoulder and gently squeezing it,
"Right," He said with a frown, hanging his head so his hair bounced. You reached a hand up to gently play with the ends of his loose curls, "God... I..." He groaned softly, moving and beginning to pace slowly across your kitchen,
"What's up, Eds?" You asked, folding your arms and shifting to lean back against the counter, watching him,
"I don't know," He said, his hands moving to rub over his face and eyes, "I guess just... I've been thinking about... Things a lot," He said with a frown, "Mostly you being so far away from me in Franklin... I mean... We're the same age and I'm still in... Fucking high school..." He muttered to himself angrily,
"Hey, Eddie," You said softly, gently putting a hand on his wrist, "You know that's not-"
"But that's the thing- it is my fault," He said quickly, exasperated, "I mean, I'd love to graduate and leave with you, but I just fucking can't get through this year," He huffed, "The first time I failed it... I never cared about... Education or whatever and then... It was all so serious in Senior year... With graduation and with college," He sighed,
"Yeah, that... Was stressful," You frowned softly, remembering back to two years ago. How stressed you had been the whole time about passing all your classes, actually getting into Franklin college, and applying for financial aid. Since he failed, you graciously delayed your plans of leaving for a year- not fully ready to accept being so far from Eddie for such a long time, and not trusting yourself to survive that long without him... But when he flunked the next year too, you knew you couldn't wait for him any longer... You had to live your life and... Do something. And although your separation was heartbreaking, you vowed to come back the following summer. And here you were, and here he was in your kitchen... "But we got through it right, Munson?" You tried assuring him, "Here, come on, it's been a long day we can talk about this tomorrow," You said softly, moving through the kitchen to walk to your bedroom,
"I didn't want to graduate that first year," He suddenly admitted. You froze, glancing at him,
"What?" You asked in surprise,
"The first time. I guess I failed on purpose- missed O'Donnell's final because I knew there was no way in hell I'd pass it so I just... Didn't show up," He sighed, shoulders sagging. He crossed your room, sitting heavily in your desk chair, "I never told you because of how embarrassing it was, and you were already mad at me-"
"No, I was never mad-"
"You were pissed off, babe," He said quickly, pointing at you, "I could see it... Sence it... You fucking... You could have left me that first year- You should have-"
"Wait, Eddie, hold on, cause yesterday you were pissed that I left without you," You frowned,
"Yeah, and at myself that I didn't just go with you," He sighed, "All because I was afraid about moving on with my life... Seeing Wayne so disappointed I failed wasn't the same as seeing you," He frowned, sitting heavily in your desk chair, "You were walking around so sad everywhere... Because of me," He said,
"No, Eds, it wasn't because of you," You said quickly,
"Don't bullshit me," He said in a sharper tone than intended, wincing himself, "Shit, sorry," He muttered. With a frown, you walked over to him, kneeling on the ground before him and reaching out a hand to place on top of his,
"Eddie," you said softly, "I know how hard school is for you. Even now. But I never looked down on you for failing. I never felt angry staying here. Annoyed maybe, but never angry at you," You said softly, squeezing his fingers and feeling the cool metal of his rings pressing against your skin, "I just... Wish you could leave with me already," You sighed, "See how much better the world is outside of Hawkins..."
"Yeah, and I'm trying," He said in an exasperated way, "You have to believe me I'm-"
"Good," You said quickly, cutting off anything else he might have wanted to say, "Because I miss you a lot," You moved his hand and pressed a kiss to the backs of his fingers gently, as he had done to your before, "And I can't wait to have you annoy me every day of my life again," You smiled softly, standing and moving to your nightstand so you could set your alarm clock to four am.
Eddie went quiet at your statement, seemingly moved by your tender gesture. He was leaned back in your swivelling chair, moving side to side slightly with his hands clasped together and a faraway look in his eyes. He was playing with his rings, having slid the metal pig's head a little further up his skin so it was loose, twisting it around his digit. His legs were spread apart widely; he had removed his shoes at your front door. There was a deep frown set on his face, corners of his plump lips downturned, and his brown eyes missing their usual Munson spark,
"Okay..." You sighed, sitting on your bed far enough so you could lean your head back against the wall and letting the heavy silence surround you momentarily. You glanced over at him, thinking for a moment, before smiling to yourself, "You... Remember when we were younger? And we'd make all these plans about our futures?"
"Yeah, but we... We were kids, man," He frowned, running a hand over his face, "Kids don't think about money and bills and... College and graduation," He rambled,
"Plans are plans, Eddie," You said softly, giving him a small smile, "Besides... It was always our future. Never my future, or your future. Ours. We always wanted to be together, no matter what came our way," You reminded him,
"And you still want that...?" He asked, the uncertainty clear in his voice. It always broke you how hard Eddie was on himself, how disbelieving he was that you wanted him to stick around. If only he knew just how much he meant to you,
"Are you kidding me?" You smiled at him, "Of course I do... Come here," You said, even moving a hand to pat your leg, the same as he had done to you earlier today. That made him smile, along with your reassurance. With a sigh, he stood up and walked over to you,
"You mean it?" He asked sheepishly, placing a knee on your bed before sitting down, half on, half off,
"Yes, Eddie," You said, reaching a hand out and grasping his tightly, "God, what I would give to just... Leave with you right now. Get you out of Hawkins for good," You smiled at him warmly, "Drive out somewhere, find a cute little place-"
"Why don't we?" He asked hopefully, "Like- like right now?" He offered, his smile returning to his lips as he looked at you eagerly. Truthfully, there was nothing you wanted to do more right now... Though realistically, it was near impossible,
"Well, I can't exactly have long-term guests staying in my dorm room..." You sighed,
"But you came back here to make money for next year, right?" He asked; you nodded your head, "So you can move out?" You nodded again,
"But the thing is with my rent here, I'll have t-"
"Move in here with me," He blurted out, and your hand relaxed in his, eyes blinking in disbelief,
"What...?" You whispered. It felt like every emotion flooded your brain and your veins at once, circling through your body and making your heart race and your stomach drop,
"Just- Wayne'll understand, he loves you!" He said excitedly, grabbing both of your hands in his, and shifting closer to you on the bed, "That way you won't be paying rent here; you'll be keeping all your money, staying with me, which is a great bonus, personally speaking," He rambled with a bright smile, making you let out a small, surprised laugh, "And you just gotta focus on work-"
"Eddie, you realise I would never-" He frowned at your words, "-stay free of charge right?" You finished quickly, his expression relaxing, "If your uncle even let me stay, I'd at least help him out with the rent and paying for utilities- I could also get a second job and-"
"But you're not... Saying no?" He asked, "If I talked to my uncle and he said yes, you'd move in with us?" He asked hopefully, eyes full of longing and hope. You smiled softly. His eagerness had caused him to shift closer so he was mere inches from your face,
"I'm not saying anything until you talk to your uncle about this," You said, a smile spreading across your lips, "I know how impulsive you can be, Eds. I don't want to finalise anything just yet," You stated, "But... I'm not going to decline or pass up on an offer like that," You barely even finished your sentence and he was already grinning wide and wrapping his arms around your middle. He laughed in delight, leaning on you so you were forced to lay back on your bed with him on top of you, nuzzling his face into your neck eagerly,
"You mean I'll get to wake up to you every morning for the rest of my life?" The proposition didn't sound too bad. You couldn't deny that the times Eddie had stayed overnight at your trailer had always left you feeling happier and significantly more well-rested. Though you were not a morning person, waking up to the sight of him in your kitchen, humming along to himself between drags of a cigarette in just his checkered pyjama pants while he made coffee was an image you had burned into your mind, and made you want to leave the warmth of your bed. The memories of waking up in the middle of the night, tangled in one another arms on the couch with the TV static glittering against your face, forcing you to press your face further into his neck and feeling his lips ghost over your forehead were your personal favourites. Going to sleepovers and leaving wearing his clothes because you purposefully forgot to bring something to sleep in, and were too drunk or stoned to walk across the park to your home, eventually forming a collection of black band shirts that you'd find yourself wearing when your heart ached for him in the middle of the night, crying against the cotton that so faintly clung to his smell... You wouldn't need them anymore... You'd wake up to him every day...
"Only if-" You started, though quickly stopped due to his groan of disagreement,
"Indulge me, babe," He muttered into your neck, lips ghosting over your skin causing you to shudder, sighing as his warm breath fanned against your flesh. Lifting a hand up to stroke through his hair, you smiled softly, shutting your eyes and letting your mind run, "What would our lives look like if we lived together?" He asked you,
"We'd wake up like this," You started, feeling his lips moving into a grin at your words, "You'd wake up first. You always do, Eds..." Your brow furrowed and you opened your eyes, "Wait... Does that mean every time I'd fall asleep on you-"
"I never wanted to wake you up," He mumbled. His voice was delightfully low next to your ear, "You always hated getting woken up by anyone... It's a good thing you're so cute. I'd be pissed off if anyone else used me as a personal pillow," You laughed softly at that,
"I... Wow..." You hummed. You couldn't even count the number of times you had unintentionally fallen asleep on him- on his couch, in the movie theatre, in the forest when you got too drunk or high... And he always...
"Mhm- it's wild how long it took you to realise I was in love with you," He sighed again, "Continue, please. I was enjoying myself," He said, "We wake up..." He started for you again,
"You worm your way out of my arms eventually," You smile softly, "You go to the kitchen to make us coffee. It takes me a while to realise you're not there... I get up-"
"Oh, be realistic, sweetheart," He chastises, causing you to laugh,
"I thought it was our fantasy?" You smiled,
"Yeah, but come on," He laughed, "Don't be unrealistic," He said playfully,
"Fine. I lay in bed until you bring me coffee... We get to drink it together... I'm probably wearing one of your shirts- the AC/DC one's my favourite-"
"Oh yeah, do you have it by the way?" He asked, "I've been looking for it everywhere,"
"Uh... Yeah," You admitted, embarrassed, "I took it with me... To remember you by," He smiled again, and he pressed another kiss to your skin,
"Damn, babe, am I really that forgettable?" He says playfully,
"Of course you're not, Eddie!" You say quickly, "I just... It gets lonely out there without you, you know?" You said with a small sigh,
"You can keep it," He grinned, "The shirt. It looks better on you anyway. Keep going," He murmured again,
"Right... So... We drink our coffee in bed... I'll probably tell you about some wild dream I had- or you will. And we'll laugh about that," You smiled, letting your eyes open slightly to watch your fingers as they gently separated the strands of messy curls, "And then... We'll smoke something?"
"It's your day off work?" He hums,
"Mhm. No work that day," You smile, "Maybe it's a weekend? We'll either go outside and enjoy how cold it still is, or just open the window and lay back in bed," You mutter as you watch your hands delicately working through his hair, avoiding pulling on the knots, "Maybe you have your guitar and you're playing something for me?" You smile, "I'm laying in bed... Or on your lap,"
"What song?" He whispers,
"I don't know," You match his quiet tone,
"Oh c'mon, babe," He says normally, kissing your neck again, "What song do you want me to play?"
"I can pick any song?" You smile,
"Anything in the entire world," He murmurs, "For you, I'd learn any song,"
"Romantic," You mumbled, humming, "Could you play me 'Rip Her to Shreds'?" You grinned,
"Blondie? Really?" He asked amused as he sat up to look at you, placing his chin on your chest,
"Hey! You said any song," You smirked, moving your hand to play with the hair framing his face, "Maybe you could throw in 'A Shark in Jets clothing'?" You asked,
"What is it with you and Debbie Harry?" He grinned,
"Have you seen- Have you heard Debbie Harry? She's amazing!" You grinned,
"Mhm," He hummed half-heartedly, before moving his head to the side so he could lay on your chest, "I'll play you the Shark one- I always liked that one better,"
"You listened to Blondie for me?" You smiled affectionately,
"You left the tape at mine," He said, "Though I can't say I'm tempted to steal your Debbie poster," He grinned, sitting up and looking across your room at it,
"I used to lay awake at night and just stare at her," You sighed playfully, eyes scanning over it, "She's just so beautiful," You breathed,
"I'm getting jealous over here, baby," He said playfully, causing you to laugh "Why didn't you take her to Franklin with you?" He asked curiously,
"I guess I just forgot..." You sighed, "And she looks better up here," You smiled to yourself,
"Or... You secretly came back for her, and not me," He said playfully,
"Bingo, Munson," You said playfully. You let your eyes fall shut tiredly as he moved off of you, laying next to you. His arms remained wrapped around you, but he pulled your body closer to his chest, "Today was a good day," You murmured,
"It was?" He asked,
"Mhm," You hummed, opening an eye to look at him, "Because of you," You gently touched the tip of your finger to his nose, grinning as he wrinkled his nose,
"Cause of me?" He asked softly,
"Mhm," He smiled at that, "You always make my days better, Eds..." You said softly, setting a hand on your cheek and leaning forward to gently kiss him, "I love that we can kiss now," You grinned, quickly kissing him again,
"Mhm," He hummed against your lips, "You have no clue how long I've wanted to do that," He sighed, leaning his head back on your pillows and shutting his eyes,
"How long, Eds?" You smiled,
"Mmmh," He hummed, opening his eyes and looking up, thinking, "So... You remember in junior year-"
"Here we go," You rolled your eyes,
"Let me speak, babe," He smiled,
"Oh, sorry, do go on," You smiled, reaching out and beginning to play with his hair again,
"Mh... In junior year, we skipped Phys Ed together to smoke behind the gym. It was your first time, and you started coughing like crazy," He smiled,
"Ugh- I still remember how bad it burned my throat," You commented,
"Uhuh- and look how far you've come," He grinned, "Anyways- we both went back inside to change. You got dressed first, as usual. Some Seniors had apparently seen me stealing their cigarettes and decided to beat the shit out of me for it," You winced softly at the memory. It was outside- he was already changed into his Hellfire shirt and ripped black jeans, but by the time you got there, the white fabric was speckled with his blood,
"Shit, I remember," You frowned, the images of him being punched, then thrown to the ground, body curled and arms raised to try and protect his face as he got kicked flashing through your head,
"Yeah..." He muttered, absentmindedly reaching a hand up to touch a small, faint white scar stretching from the bottom of his lip down to his chin, left as a reminder of the incident, "Thought they'd kill me until you came and saved me," He glanced over at you. He poked at your downturned lips with his finger gently, but you quickly grabbed his hand, interlocking your fingers,
"I don't like that memory," You frowned at him. His face bloomed into a soft smile, and he moved your hand to press a delicate kiss to your fingers,
"Well I do," He said softly, "Because when they saw you, they ran. And then... God, they probably kicked me in the head too hard because I thought you were my guardian angel," He closed his eyes, setting your joint hands on his chest, "You were so worried for me," He smiled, teasingly,
"Because I thought they were going to kill you," You said sternly, watching him unamused. He kissed your hand again, just to watch your expression soften slightly at the gesture,
"You picked me up off the floor and skipped sixth period just to take care of me," He said softly, glancing up again in remembrance, "You had this look on your face... Your eyes were shining so much, I thought you were going to cry for me. You babied me a lot- you said I could have a concussion and I should go to the nurse," He smiled,
"That's not a happy memory, Eddie," You said softly, moving your face closer to him,
"No... It's not," He agreed softly, "But do you know why I realised I was in love with you then?" He asked softly,
"...No," You admitted softly,
"Would you like to?" He asked with a smile, the curve of his lips widening as you nodded, "I realised that someone, someone in all of Hawkins, cared about me," He said with a gentle sigh,
"You have Wayne-" You tried to say quickly,
"I know," He said quickly, "But family caring about you is different to friends- or lovers," He spoke softly. He let go of your hand, and moved it to slide against your cheek, "See, you could have left me there. Pretended you never saw, pretended to be confused or worried about my black eye and split lip next period... But you went out of your way to make sure I was okay- I think I remember you mumbling something about covering my hospital bill if I actually had a concussion," He smirked as you looked away with a blush,
"Of course, I care about you, Eddie," You said softly, frowning,
"Yeah... I know now... And I realised then that you really did that day," He said softly, "And I also realised," He said softly, sliding his hand down to your chin and tilting your head with his fingers so your eyes locked, "That I was in love with you," He murmured before his lips touched yours, sealing his words.
The kiss was slow, and gentle, years of yearning and affection pouring into one another. It was beautiful, not sad or interrupted like the first one you shared yesterday, and you could feel warmth flowing from your chest across your whole body. It really felt like you would be floating away, if he wasn't holding you down, pressing you closer against him, one hand running up and down your arm whilst his other kept a gentle hold on your face. Your own hands roamed from his neck down to his chest, feeling his heart beating against your gentle fingertips. You smirked against his lips as you traced a heart with your fingers, sighing as you felt him pressing his tongue against your lips in a silent ask for permission.
Though you didn't go further tonight, you went to sleep knowing you were with someone you loved and trusted completely, and that he'd still be there by the time you regained consciousness made you feel safe, above all else. And knowing he wanted some sort of future where you were there for him, and he'd be there for you made you feel elated. You knew it was rare to find someone you could happily call your 'soulmate' in this world- but Eddie was your person. Your soulmate. Yours...

Hellsite Nostalgia Tour 2023 Day 30
The Blind Banker
"The Blind Banker"
What makes me sad about the Sherlock episodes is I don't think I'm ever going to be able to formulate any fun little games like I have for Supernatural (and may yet develop for Doctor Who). They just come up too infrequently.
I forgot how weird the cinematography in Sherlock can get. There was just this really small segment where...it felt like when a video games frame rate drops. Lasted like 10 seconds and then........like, why did you do that?
Moffat, I think, should be allowed to come up with concepts, but not be allowed to write...and especially not write female characters. This is the coldest take I may have ever had. It's just this poor museum worker...
Man, I've either skipped this episode a bunch of times or just paid far less attention during it because, while I can recall a FEW scenes and something of a general outline for the mystery, there's an HOUR AND A HALF OF STORY. And I know I can't fill in that much from memory.
Yeah, there's a life or death fight with a guy with a sword at 221B, but OMG JOHN IS ME. I prefer using the self-checkout when shopping, but because I know how. to. do. things. right., it's so frustrating when the machine doesn't cooperate. I very recently got to the end of all my scanning, everything was bagged, I was just down to PAYING and the computer decided to call for assistance. Not me, the computer, for no discernible reason. Anyway, John, I feel your pain
"I had a row with the chip and PIN machine" "You had a row?" "Sort of. It sat there and I shouted abuse." Well, now he's just me with every machine I have at work.
(Guys, we're less than 10 minutes in. I'm...extremely sorry for how long the Sherlock ones get. In my defense, this was my main obsession of the three back in the day.)
I'm sure somewhere on this website there's a gifset of Sherlock going around this office, dipping between the cubicles alongside gifs of David Tenant doing the same in Partners In Crime. I probably reblogged it back in the day (but that might have been before I really started tagging things)
Sure, some of the deductions are bullshit, but figuring out who the message was for was pretty impressive. Also, I will also never be mad at him putting the cops to shame.
Ok. I'm starting to remember, this is a smuggling ring...backed by Moriarty question mark??? I know he gets a mention at the end (sorry, we're now four weeks out from seeing him and i'm going to be ANNOYING)
--At this moment, 8:10pm, I've paused for the gazillionth time, but this time to go through the tag for the episode...and it's a shock to know that this is either THE episode with THE tight purple shirt that is the entire reason I use purple for the Sherlock titles or it's just the FIRST one with it. Omg. I've been scrolling and scrolling the tag for ages trying to find anything with that shirt in its actual color. You couldn't escape it ten years ago. Now? Nothing.
Tumblr media
THIS shirt. God. I have to do EVERYTHING around here--
You can kind of tell that John's never done anything wrong ever in his entire life (save for the murder last episode, but even that was to defend someone who was about to be murdered-ish) by the way he didn't run the second Sherlock and the graffiti artist started running
One thing about John (and possibly just Martin Freeman) is that he really know how to yell at someone while barely raising his voice. I mean, suuuuure, is Sherlock getting attacked and nearly dying? Yeah, but John's annoyed with him.
Also, I didn't say this before, but I meant to...Sherlock's a lot better at lying to people to convince them to do things than Dean...or Sam, honestly.
Oh! Oh! Ohhhhh!! The number pairs are like...page number, word number of some book from that library book!! I'm piecing it together now!
Omg this Scotland Yard detective is insufferable. At least Lestrade knows he's outmatched and needs Sherlock's help. This guy won't believe there's a serial murderer even with three victims until Sherlock can prove it. Like won't even investigate it? At all??
I love Molly but I loathe how easily she gets played by Sherlock. How easily she's manipulated by him. The slightest compliment. Not even a compliment, honestly. First he just notices her hair is styled different, then says it suits her better like that. Dude. Stop falling for this, girl.
Look, I like Sarah and John, they're cute, but also my aro-spec ace ass could never accidentally (or not) say "good" when someone says they don't have a significant other after. ESPECIALLY if I've accused them of slacking on the job due to said non-existent partner. Good LORD.
How are you so bad at hiding that you almost get caught that easily??...No, you DID get caught that easily. John was right. You don't think anyone can compare to your massive ego, Sherlock.
You know what? The Black Lotus had every right to do what they did. The banker and the librarian were just two more in a long line of the English going to distant countries and taking shit that ain't theirs. They had every right to kill them over an artifact worth MILLIONS that the banker's secretary will now have to hide for the rest of her life.
Mrs. Hudson takes such good care of her boys.
Sorry, but if I got kidnapped and almost killed after a date where my date's roommate crashed to drag said date into solving a mystery with him, there wouldn't be a second date. There would only be my permanent 'fun fact about me.'

Aged Tieguanyin from 1986!
tried This around 2 weeks ago :), would have wrote abt it sooner but i got into a car crash like 3 hours later¹. SAD!
this is the first time i ever tried an oolong tea². While i dont have the packaging it came in anymore to give you more details. It was aged in a more traditional method that didnt involve re-roasting it every few years to keep a fresher flavor and to allow the aging process to come through in the taste. This tea was picked in Anxi county in Fujian, a province of southeast China that's directly across from Taiwan³.
The scent⁴ of the dry tea leaves prior to being steeped is really mellow and nice, its sort of a sweet fruity smell with deeper woodier, nuttier I'd even say notes that tie it together really well. Post steep the leaves open and the scent becomes much louder, relatively, and a lot of the bass notes of the tea came out more prominently, otherwise just about the same⁵.
The color of the liquor⁶ was a lovely golden yellow, and the light but glowing appearance is reflected in its taste. The tea again is reminiscent of its scent, light, fruity, with hints of walnuts and wood⁷. Tea had effectively no astringency and made for a very relaxed and cozy drinking experience.
I wouldn't put the taste as better than red teas ive tried, but the smell ive totally fallen for and is my favorite so far.
now if only i could get better teaware to increase the comfy vibes⁸. now that would be a treat :3c⁹

Footnotes
1. Im perfectly ok, and the crash wasnt my fault :) but it wasnt really the reason i havent posted im just a wee bit lazy, it definitely was why i didnt post same day tho
2. Ive likely tried oolong before at a restaurant or from a teabag, but both of those are probably pretty cheap doodoo teas that arent gonna be very comparable to a nice loose leaf. so im not counting them, + i dont remember them.
3. that was a bit awkward in its wording but i think location matters so i always wanna try to mention it, i also just love geography!
4. I kind of imply this in other parts of the post but since i had this tea ive tried another oolong that i bought a larger bag of and have been enjoying, will post abt it in the upcoming days because it's not aged plus this account is basically my tea journal. the smell here i dont prefer to the not aged oolong ive tried but is still super nice.
5. they are more different than i have the ability to articulate yet, but not by a ton
6. For some reason when i bought this i thought it was a puerh, maybe because i saw aged and forgot the rest lol. so when i poured the tea into my little cup and it was so light in color i was surprised and had go reread the package to discover my goof
7. im bad at tasting notes too still lol.
8. my current set up is a thin mug to brew in and a little ceramic dish¹⁰ to use as a lid, like a sort of thrifted gaiwan lol
9. :3c
10. I got most of my stuff from goodwill i dont have nice porcelain money for rn. saving to get something simple and nice tho! id at least want a nice gaiwan, its probably the most important thing to worry about the quality of, besides the leaves of course.
