I thought I was crazy when I heard Satan’s voice differently after the Angel event, then I read your about page and found out the boys got a re-recording of their voice lines, so I’m not crazy! :D

To be honest I find his(Satan’s) new voiceover kind of weird, it’s softer than the last one and personally I don’t really like it :((

Gingerbread has so much dark potential in her that I think the main storyline should’ve capitalized on more since she seems to be at least partially among the favorites for story events. Personally I think she(along with other FF ladies) has been cheapened a lot in story events to more or less just a supporting cast Sassy Girl Boss™︎ but that’s a can of worms for another day. Though I also just have an ungodly obsession with her character so I might just be seeing through a tinted lens.

For one thing, she’s probably the second closest food soul to Falling in her group(second to Red Wine), and also likely the most violent. Over the years since the incident in her fondness story she’s mellowed out some, and at a first glance she’s the most sane with how little Steak and Red Wine’s scuffles seem to bother her anymore, but once you manage to actually provoke her a broken bone is the bare minimum of what will happen. She has great physical strength, endurance, and two big ass weapons and she’s not afraid to use all them at once. With those uncanny eyes and flashes of fangs, it’s also visually clear that Gingerbread isn’t just your average food soul, there’s something more beneath that small body and more or less jaded demeanor.

There’s also the topic of Gingerbread’s moral stances. There are some aspects of Pretzel and Red Wine’s moral compasses in her own, but in a way something about Gingerbread feels less… held back. She’s less empathetic and rarely feels remorse if she kills someone in the name of righteousness. She’s a protector, a bodyguard, and in her eyes being a good person isn’t exactly being kind and caring to most if not all people; there are going to be those who are beyond redemption, and she will eradicate them if she thinks it is the best solution. Out the four(the other three being Pretzel, Red Wine, and Steak), Gingerbread would be the least hesitant to off Bloody Mary and she’d do it by almost any means necessary. Part of me feels like the reason she’s just conveniently not around Steak and Red Wine whenever Bloody Mary is involved is because she wouldn’t be afraid to get rid of him, not to mention that he also has little leverage over her in terms of emotional/psychological grounding. He probably doesn’t know as much about her and how her mind works because she’s not as big of an obstacle between him and Steak(‘s blood) as Red Wine is, and unless he happened to know about her hometown he wouldn’t know about how she was outcasted as a bad omen, so why bother trying to learn about this silly little knight girl?

And finally, this is more or less of a ‘what if?’ theory than theory for the canon lore but I like to imagine what would’ve happened if a darker food soul got to Gingerbread before Red Wine did. Boston Lobster is the first to come to mind, a classic case of an outcast taken in by a fellow outcast with the promise of vengeance, but other food souls like Spaghetti, Whiskey, and maybe even past Peking Duck also come to mind. A strong food soul in a dark place, teetering on a thin line between wanting to live up to being the good person that her friend wished her to be and spiraling into a pit of vengeful violence against the townspeople that wrong her, the potential for a powerful weapon to further your own goals if you just say the right words. Maybe her moral balance would tip heavier towards evil, maybe her current physical appearance would be different, who knows? Would those unnatural features of hers be more prevalent? There are a lot of possibilities, and I want to explore as much of them as I can.

Gingerbread has one of the most emotionally crushing backstories. Not only did her MA and best friend die, but the town turned against her. Her life changed completely in a matter of hours. I also see her carrying some guilt of “If I hadn’t left, they’d be alive.” Her emotions and mental health are shattered. She has a small shred of sanity left. She could have easily been like Bloody Mary and followed in MA’s footsteps or been like Spaghetti and become what she hated.

As for a more evil/dark found soul getting to her first, I’m not sure if she would go with their plans. She’d be corrupted by them and get that final push over the edge, but would not follow what they were doing. If she was going to get revenge, she’d do it on her own terms.

For the falling part, she’s definitely close. It would make sense if it was written into part of her backstory.

There’s really nothing much else to say! lol She only appears in like, two side stories for me at least (my shit luck means I keep repeating the same side stories smh) 

She, Steak and Red Wine aren’t the main characters in the anniversary event they’re mostly inside wonderland running around saving their friends, waking them up from their delusional sleep walking. 

One is where the knight trio are reunited with Turkey and Eggnog, the other is Ginger ripping her new dress because she could hardly move in it, much to Steak and Red Wine’s shock. 

Friend from my CN guild said there’s another side story where she’s dancing with Cheese at a ball too!

I wanted to practice with exaggerating body types because let’s face it; several food souls have same body, same face syndrome. I’ve also done a doodle page trying to explore exaggerating Gingerbread, Red Wine, and Steak’s body types as well that you can find on my Amino.

Example: Giving Gingerbread a pear body to show that while she is small and cute, she’s still an adult.
