Can please write about Leah sledging (inspired by KCC photo dump) where she gets a super minor injury and gets all dramatic about it. Just needs some care and affection from her girl lol
bubble wrap II l.williamson
"lee i really don't think you should." you warned with a sigh, knowing too well that your words would fall on deaf ears with your stubborn blonde. "i'll be fine! you're so dramatic babe." leah groaned, tapping her foot impatiently as she awaited jacob to take his turn.
"snow is nice and soft. see!" you stumbled a little as a cold lump smashed you in the side of the head. "leah!" you gasped, shivering as ice cold droplets trickled down the back of your neck and your girlfriend doubled over laughing.
"if i wasn't half toward hypothermia i'd take out your good knee." you huffed snatching her beanie and tugging it over your head. "hey! too soon." leah pouted as you rolled your eyes and tucked your hands into your pockets.
"i know a way we can warm you up?" the defender grinned taking a few steps closer and wiggling her eyebrows. "or, you could chill out a little!" you lunged toward her and pushed at her shoulders before she had time to react sending her tumbling into the snow.
"oi!" the blonde gasped as now it was your turn to double over laughing. "oh sorry love, i slipped." you grinned, offering her a hand up which in fairness was a grave mistake, one leah was about to take full advantage of.
grabbing your hand she yanked and sent you flying into the snow beside her. "oh sorry angel, slipped." leah beamed happily as you punched her in the shoulder. "oh no, i'm slipping again." leah tutted, hovering over you before ducking down and pressing her lips to yours.
"you are such a child." you mumbled against her lips, though unable to stop the smile curling into them after as she hummed and squeezed your hips, teeth teasingly tugging at your bottom lip.
"oi lovebirds!" you both pulled apart as a spray of snow showered down onto you, jacob sitting with a satisfied smirk on the sled where he'd just come flying down the hill.
you watched with a chuckle and a roll of your eyes as leah scrambled to her feet and raced at her brother, ignoring your warning yells of being careful as she tackled him to the ground, the two of them rolling around.
you were grateful for the multitude of layers amanda had made you all bundle up in as you got to your own feet, though the cold was still doing a top job of nipping at your skin.
"if you're doing this babe can you hurry up please! i'm freezing my tits off here." you yelled at the squabbling siblings as they broke apart and jacob handed the sled to leah.
"please be careful leah!" you yelled after her as she waved you off and continued on her way. "she'll be right we've been doing this for years." jacob chuckled as you shoved him playfully, anxiety building as you waited leah to come flying down.
jacob picking up on your nerves busied your attention telling you all about australia where he was living now, admittedly doing quite a good job of keeping you distracted.
the sound of cheering however snapped you right back into it, leah hollering as she raced down the hill, getting a lot more speed than jacob seemed to as your eyes widened.
"babe slow down!" you yelled, you and jacob jumping back out of the way as she came hurtling toward you, hitting a small bump of snow and flying off, skidding face first through the snow.
in typical sibling fashion jacob fell down in laughter as you hurried over to make sure she was okay. "you idiot!" you huffed as leah clutched at her stomach in laughter, pulling herself to sit up and shaking the snow out of her hair.
"you're supposed to ride the sled leah not your face!" jacob managed to get out, the blonde tossing a handful of snow in his direction as you grabbed the sled before leah could.
"nah uh, you're done." you warned, palming it off to jacob who set off up the hill again to continue, leahs cousin ben running after him as he returned from a toilet break, groaning that he missed leahs big stack as she flipped him off.
"babe come on!" leah laughed as you took off, clearly annoyed with her as she followed after you back toward the cabin you were staying in with most of leahs family for the week.
"no! i told you to be careful, you've got one and a half knees leah you've not got many to spare with a stupid sledding accident right before your return." you shot back at her over your shoulder as she hurried to catch up with you.
"baby it wasn't-" you heard her hiss in pain and spun around, raising an eyebrow. "what was that?" you questioned her as she caught up. "might have sprained my wrist?" she smiled guiltily as you sighed, gently taking it off her and rotating it.
"you can rotate it, thats a good sign." you sighed with a shake of your head. "think i need a personal nurse to make sure i'm okay. would you know where i could find one?" leah grinned as you withheld the urge to smile.
"i can see those little dimples my girl, can't hide that from me."
~
"how is it one to ten babe?" you asked, having just tucked your girlfriend into bed after washing her hair for her. "about a six?" leah sighed, wincing a little as she rolled it in a circle.
"i warned you." you tutted but placing a gentle kiss to her wrist. "hey hey my lips are a bit sore too, and they're a ten." leah pouted tapping her lips as you smiled knowingly.
"mm well we can't have that can we?" you sat down on the edge of the bed as leah shook her head. "you'd be a pretty shit nurse if you ignored my obvious agony." leah groaned in mock pain as you rolled your eyes pecking her lips sweetly a few times. "movie?"
"hot chocolate and a movie?" leah asked hopefully, pouting again. "extra marshmallows right?" you sighed as your girlfriend nodded with a beaming grin. "i love you, very very much." the blonde leaned up to kiss you a few more times.
"ice it please." you pulled away, tapping the ice pack on her lap and standing up, heading downstairs as leah clicked on the tv and started to browse movies with her good hand.
"hows your patient then? heard she took a tumble." amanda smiled, making herself a tea as you started to get out what you needed. "she'll live but we might need to amputate." you grinned teasingly, falling into conversation with her, having been with leah for almost three years you'd felt welcomed into the family right from the first time you'd met them.
"baby hurry!" you sighed hearing leah call out from your shared room, amanda giving you a look. "duty calls." you grabbed the mugs and turned to leave but amanda stopped you before you could.
"you know she isn't actually injured right love? leah does this when she wants attention and feels shes getting the wrong end of the stick. used to work wonders on her poor father when she was younger and he was hopelessly gullible!" the woman chuckled with a shake of her head.
"i don't know it was a decent fall she had, slid a good three metres on her face." you hesitated as the woman only laughed again.
"her face love, not her wrist. leahs been doing every sort of sport she could from the moment she could walk, she knows how to take a fall without landing on her wrist i promise you." the woman squeezed your shoulder and headed back toward the living room as you frowned.
"baby!"
with a roll of your eyes now you moved upstairs, very careful not to spill the hot chocolates as leahs face lit up and you placed them carefully on the side table.
you ignored her grabby hands and stared her down firmly. "what! what you lookin at me like that for?" leah frowned as you continued, staying silent and waiting for her to crack. "baby, stop it." leah huffed as you quirked an eyebrow.
"think fast!" you grabbed a decorative fake pinecone off the table and tossed it at her, and right as you assumed her dominant hand moved to catch it with ease, which was also her sprained wrist.
"oh well would you look at that! all recovered then?" you crossed your arms as a guilty smile crept onto the girls face. "you're such a good nurse its a miracle?" leah tried as you shook your head.
"you are such a sop! you just want attention as if i don't give you it whenever you want anyway." you collapsed on top of her with a roll of your eyes. "you were upset with me after the fall and i thought it might have been a night of stony silence." leah admitted, hands falling to tangle in your hair.
"because i told you to be careful!" you tried to sit up with a huff. "hey." she gently held you down. "i know you worry, but we're through the worst of it all now. if i spend the rest of my life holding back and stressing out there's a higher risk of injury then if i just go back and live my life. you can't wrap me in bubble wrap forever baby girl!" leah smiled, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
"no but the day you're back on that pitch i'll be there with one hand over my eyes and a strong alcoholic beverage in the other." you teased as she affectionately flicked your ear.
"so long as you're there baby you could wear a blindfold and i'd be a happy happy woman."

I will take an argument with literally any of them. break my heart pls (but not too bad bc I am not doing too great pls & ty)
my punching bag today will be older!eddie.
"Delilah, no." Eddie's voice was stern, steady and full of authority, stilling the toddler from her terrorizing tirade.
Her little lip jutting, eyes rounding like they always did when she'd get scolded. You cringed at her suck of breath, a warning that the wailing sob was nearing.
Your temples throbbed at the sound, a dramatic, crocodile teared wail, diving straight into your leg with a pitiful, teary cry. "Mama!" Delilah sobbed, dramatic as ever, you knew it. She was upset she'd been stopped from smacking the small vase off the coffee table.
"Can you just put it up?" You huff, cradling a sobbing Lilah to your shoulder, her cries fading with disinterest, distracted by something over your shoulder.
"She'll never learn." Eddie huffed, his own nerves grating with agitation. The same argument found it's way back to the two of you.
"Can't just give into her all the time."
"I'm not." You snapped, teeth grit in annoyance. "I just don't want her to get hurt. She could knock it over by accident, so just put it up."
Eddie's eye roll nearly sent you into a rage, body tensing, blood boiling at his scoff, putting the vase under the TV stand.
You waited until Lilah went to sleep that night to bring it up, angrily turning down the bed with a harsh shove. "You know, you don't have to be so condescending to me." You sneer. "I do know what I'm doing."
Eddie huffed and you could hear the eye roll in his sharp breath. "I never said you didn't-"
"-No, you just act like I don't. Like I can't possibly know what to do-"
"-When did I ever say that, hm? I never said that." Eddie growled, tone rising in irritation, fingers curling around the throw pillow, launching it in the corner of the room. "But you gotta teach her not to do shit like that. Can't just let her get away with murder."
"See?" You snap, throwing a hand out towards him. "This. This is what I'm talking about. That fucking condescending tone-"
"-Condescending? I'm not being condescending. I'm just telling you-"
"-You think I don't know? Do you seriously think I don't fucking know?" You tried to swallow the shrill in your voice, keep it down so Lilah wouldn't wake up. "I know that, Eddie. I was trying to give her a chance to make a choice. You can't just yell at her the whole time, she'll think everything she does is wrong-"
"-I didn't yell at her-"
"- Oh? You didn't? Explain to me what that was then?" Your hands find your hips, fingers digging into your cotton pajamas.
Eddie's lips twitched, pinching in a tight line. "You know I have done this before, right?" He countered. "I have raised a kid before. Did a pretty good job at it, too. I do know what I'm doing."
"So do I." You boomed, the room falling silent at your tone, filled with defensive insecurity.
Eddie's chest tightened, face falling slightly. The way your eyes cut away, lip tucking in to hide the wobble that threatened to fall, arms wrapped around yourself.
"I know what I'm doing too." The crack in your voice made his heart tear.
Eddie was unsure what to say, head swimming with panic, cursing himself for not seeing this sooner. After Lilah's birth, you'd fallen into a slump- baby blues, the doctor, Wayne, everyone had told him with a solemn but reassuring shake of their head.
"Honey," Eddie's voice softened, dropping to a nearly hushed, raspy coo. "I know you know what you're doing-"
"-So why do you talk to me like I don't?" You snap, eyes cutting with that same rage.
"I-I'm not trying to." Eddie was unsure. He didn't want to upset you any further. "But parenting is supposed to be both of us, baby-"
"-So you act like it first. Treat me like a parent for once, and not like I'm some stupid, incapable person." You huffed, snatching your pillow off the bed, stomping out of the room with a shaky huff, leaving Eddie standing with a sick, heavy feeling settled in the pit of is stomach.

'cause i got my love to keep me warm!
anime: attack on titan
characters: eren jaeger, mikasa ackerman, porco galliard
summary: christmas isn't christmas without a kiss under the mistletoe!
warnings: g/n! reader, they/them pronouns used, second person pov, i am writing this in november guys, modern! au
↣ eren jeager:
you watched as jean hung up that plant above the entrance to the kitchen from the living room, an open doorway that definitely fit two people comfortably.
"jean... do i even wanna ask?" you huff out, sipping from your glass the sweet alcohol connie had handed to you.
"if you must know, mikasa is arriving soon and she brought desserts so she'll put 'em in the fridge, right?" he steps off the foot stool, putting it to the side. he stands with his hands on his hips, so proud of himself. "so i'll swoop in and help her carry her things and we'll kiss under the mistletoe and she'll fall in love with me."
you chuckle at his scheming, leaning against the wall beside the entrance, jean making sure to step a few feet away to not get caught with you. no offence. "i would be so flattered if someone did this for me."
"first find someone who will tolerate you that isn't sasha or connie." he retorts, stopping himself and look you square in the eyes, "or me. don't look for me. ever."
"oh i would rather gouge my eyes out." you huff, finishing your drink. the empty glass makes you frown. niccolo made such good alcoholic punch, you were downing so much of it. "hey, ymir! where's the rest of the drinks?"
"in the kitchen—ay, don't drink 'em all! not everyone has arrived yet!" she shouts, looking at you with your empty glass. she points a finger at you, as if to threaten, but you roll your eyes and waving your hand at her, leaving jean to his antics he was so proud of.
as you fill up your glass, you hear the last of your friends arrive. mikasa, armin and eren walk in, making everyone cheer and gather arround you. you were imagining jean's excitement as he saw his crush of a couple years. you sat in the kitchen and listened, preparing yourself to go out and talk to your own crush of a couple years. you were hoping that this time, eren and you could have a conversation throughout the night without him running to the bathroom or escaping to hang out with armin.
"y/n, get in here!" reiner calls from the living room, where everyone else was.
you huff back, pushing off the bench, "okay!" walking towards the exit of the kitchen, you fix your shirt and put on a smile. "it's so great to see you guys! it's been forever." you say, seeing eren walking towards you with a box of cupcakes. armin and mikasa say the same thing to you as a greeting. but you blink, seeing jean distraught as mikasa strikes up a conversation with historia and ymir, empty-handed.
"y/n. hey." eren says, giving you a soft smile.
"hi." you respond, looking down at the seal on the top of the box, "mikasa's cupcakes?"
he stops beside you, shrugging his shoulders. "yeah. can you tell which ones i decorated?" he chuckles nervously, watching you scan each dessert.
"ah... well..." you stammer, seeing the weirdly placed icing on a handful of the cupcakes, as well as the messy sprinkles. some of them were only on half of the cupcake. you give eren your best smile. "i would still choose yours over the others."
"thanks." he says back, rubbing the back of his neck. he then notices the glass in your hand. "how do the drinks taste?"
"oh, amazing. they taste so good." you admit, holding up your drink, "it's such a nice colour too. niccolo did very well—..." you held up your glass to the light to inspect the colour, but your eyes fall on something above you instead.
"y/n? what's... wrong?" he asks, looking up where you were. his ears begin to tint pink, face burning. "oh... who—who put that there?"
"jean did, to kiss mikasa." you admit, putting your glass down on the table beside you, taking the box from eren and doing the same thing. you began to feel your face heating up at well, a bit embarrassed. "it doesn't matter, just forget about it. i'll get you a drink."
but as you turn to the kitchen again, eren moves forward, trapping you against the wall of the room. you were out of sight from the rest of the party, eyes wide and staring at the man in front of you. he looked determined, eyes scanning yours.
"eren, what're you doing?" you say, keeping your hands against the wall. his were near your waist, his wrists bumping against you.
"can i?" he asks, gulping. his hair falls a little against his forehead, you watch the strands carefully. you could feel the heat radiating off his body, and see the mad blush over his cheeks. "can i kiss you? please?"
"yes." you say before you can think.
he dives forward, hand resting on your cheek to pull you closer. your hands leave the wall and you don't know where to put them. with gentle hands, you grasp the bottom of his hoodie and kiss back. eren kisses you just as softly, as if to not scare you. he was a little rough on the outside, so his delicate touches and kisses surprise you.
there was a sense of desperation that you could feel, as if he was waiting for this as long as you had. his other hand pulled you against him by your back, kissing you deeper. you let out a quick exhale, only to be pulled back into another kiss. and another. you almost couldn't breathe by how quickly he was kissing you.
"hey, you wanna' bring—WOAH WOAH WOAH!" sasha begins to yell, completely forgetting what she came in to ask you and now waving her hands around to cover her face. a few others run into the room to investigate as you and eren pull away, hands still on each other and staring back at sasha.
"what's wro—..." jean begins, stopping when he notices your position. it's quiet as armin, annie and reiner stare at you as well. you stay in your spot, still tugging on eren's shirt and torso, and eren's arms wrapped around you. jean is quiet before he begins shouting, nearly louder than the music. "WHAT? HOW—WHY ARE YOU KISSING HIM?"
"your stupid mistletoe!" you call back, taking your hands away from eren and pointing to the plant.
"oh so you stand under a mistletoe and you get to make out with someone in the kitchen," jean begins to complain as armin takes the others out of the room for privacy, "but when i do it, i get forced to kiss bertholdt?"
"that was like one time." eren sighs, shoving his hands in his pockets, brushing his face as if to wipe away his pink cheeks.
"whatever, asswipe." jean scowls, flipping the both of you off as he elaves, "enjoy your christmas, traitors."
as you are left alone, quietness consumes you. eren isn't able to meet your eye, much like you struggle to do as well.
but you clear your throat, "uh, yeah, so... thank you?"
"for kissing you?" eren hums, a bit of a smile on his lips.
"yeah? nevermind." you say, even more embarrassed. eren laughs a little, taking a step towards you again. you brace yourself before he places a gentle kiss to your cheek.
"you're welcome. i hope i can kiss you again." eren says, sending you a grin before he takes your hand, "you said these drinks were good, right? i'll try some."
he doesn't let go of your hand as he pours himself a glass. it seems like he has no intention of letting it go either.
↣ mikasa ackerman:
she watches you from the other side of the room, seeing how you laugh at something that sasha said. she grips her glass a little tighter, armin grabbing it from her in fear of it breaking.
"gosh, mikasa..." he huffs, setting it on the table and following her line of sight, "why don't you go up and talk to them?"
"armin..." she mutters out, looking at her friend briefly before he rolls his eyes and listens in to eren and jean's conversation about a recent sports game.
he couldn't be less interested, but it was better than dealing with mikasa's unwavering potectiveness.
"call y/n over here." she says.
"what?" armin says, raising a brow, "why?"
"just do it." mikasa tells him, elbowing his side.
armin winces, rubbing his ribs and waving his hand out at you. "hey, y/n!" he calls, watching you and sasha look his way, "c'mere for a sec!"
you excuse yourself, pattinf sasha's shoulder. she makes a beeline for the food table, where connie and reiner were at the moment. meanwhile, you walked over to armin and mikasa's spot on the couch, where the girl sat straighter and fixed her hair.
"hey, armin. it's good to see you, mikasa." you say, nodding at her and looking back at rhe blonde. mikasa relished in those few seconds, feeling her cheeks burn under your gaze and kind smile. "what's up?"
armin truthfully didn't know what to say. he made it sound like he needed you for something, but he was blank. "i, uh... i'm..." he frantically looked around, briefly at mikasa. she only widened her eyes a little and gave a look that said 'think of something'. he wanted to scold her. but his eyes lay on the drink he had taken from his friend. he perks up. "can you grab something for me?"
you raise your brows, hand out of your pocket and on your hip now. "uh, sure thing. what d'ya need?"
mikasa clenched her hands on her lap, silently cussing out armin. she asked him to bring you here so you could talk to her and be around her. why was he sending you on an errand run now?
"upstairs, i left some alcohol in the study that i forgot to bring down. could you just grab it for me?" he asks, actually remember that he legitamately forgot to get them, "i have to quickly check on the desserts."
"oh yeah, i can do that." you say, giving a thumbs up.
"thanks." he retorts, standing up, "mikasa, can you help her? it's a few bottles."
she blinks and stands up as well. "yeah, i—i can help." she mumbles, staring at you.
"great. just bring them to the kitchen when you're done." armin nods his head and then walks off, leaving you two alone.
you point to the stairs. "should we get going?"
"right." mikasa smiles, following after you.
the both of you leave the party in the living room, going towards the house entrance to go upstairs. it grew quieter, until all you heard was the two pairs of footsteps.
she walks up the stairs behind you, never taking her eyes off the back of your head. your hair looked so nice today, and your shirt hugged your figure so nicely. not to mention, your choice of fragrance today was enchanting. you smelt so nice...
"so, um... i heard you and that student from economics went out together..." mikasa says, trying to hide her deep rooted anger.
she had heard from eren who was told by jean, who was shown by reiner, who got sent a photo from annie, that you were seen on a date at a cafe near the university you all went to, with some random personfrom another course. by the end of the day, she had learnt who it was, what they did, what you two ordered, and that the person had only one girlfriend from early primary school.
you glance over your shoulder at her. "oh... right. well, we're just friends." you explain, shurgging your shoulders, "didn't really work out, it was only one date anyway. we're not interested in each other."
"oh, that's... that's good." mikasa chimes in, a small smile on her face. she couldn't contain her excitement. maybe you were interested in her instead.
"just these ones here, right?" you ask, holding up a few bottles in your hand as you kneeled in the study. mikasa snaps back into reality, nodding her head. "sweet. let's get 'em all."
mikasa begins to collect the alcohol as you do, being careful not to drop any. once they were all acquired, you begin on your way downstairs, making smalltalk with mikasa. about how her holidays are so far, her studies and all. you even ask about eren and armin. you were so considerate too, the way you made sure to carry more than her because you had seen her drink a few glasses before this, while you hadn't.
"you okay, mikasa?" you say from behind her. she nods her head, pleased by your concern. "good, good. i can't wait to try—fuck!"
she turns around just in time to catch a loose bottle once she's on the bottom of the stairs. the bottle doesn't go far, now laying in mikasa's arms. you steady yourself on the second last steps, clutching the alcohol to your chest. you were wide-eyed, staring at her.
"oh my god, i'm so sorry. thank you, mikasa." you say, breathless. she nods her head once and looks up to you on your elevated step, heaving the bottles safely in her hands. her eyes land on something passed you. "is something wrong?"
you follownyour gaze to see the a mistletoe hanging above you. "oh man, who put that there?" you ask, stepping down another step. you look to mikasa, who is staring bsck at you. if you knew anything, you knew the look on her face. a grin lays on your face and you sigh, "you poor thing."
"huh?" mikasa mutters, watching as you lean forward and press your lips against hers. a small squeak leaves her and she thinks she's about to drop the alcohol on the floor.
she tastes a little bitter due to the drinks she's been having, but you've been eating christmas sweets all night. the blend of the two flavours is nice. mikasa squeezes her eyes shut, and she can feel her cheeks burning as her heart beats faster.
you were cool and collected, gently moving your lips against hers and guiding the both of you. mikasa was too cute, asking you all these questions throughout the time you've known her, always finding a way to be alone with you. you ever really thought much of it, but that look in her eyes just then told you all you need to know.
when you pull away, mikasa's eyes slowly open, her lipstick now smudged and on you. you memorised her face, how her blush spread across her cheeks and her ears. meanwhile, mikasa tried to calm herself, shifting on her feet.
"you... didn't have to, y/n." she says, standing up straight.
but you walk down the rest of the stairs, pressing another kiss to her cheek as you pass her. "don't worry yourself. let's give these to armin, and then get a drink." you say, leading her to the kitchen.
she lets out a small breath, collecting herself and then following after you.
↣ porco galliard:
thank god armin was smart.
"pock! y/n is here now!" pieck announces from the dinner table. the restaurant was fully booked out and lively, piano played familiar christmas themes and the formal attire made it look as expensive as it really was. the food smelt amazing, which is why colt wanted to buy almost everything on the menu, to which reiner dismissed but truly wanted as well.
"yeah? why are you only tellin' me?" porco responds, not bothering to stand from his seat. but he searches the large crowd for your walking figure. pieck smiles, knowing of his not so secret feelings for you. when you finally make it to the table, porco sneaks glances.
"hey, i'm sorry i'm late. i couldn't find my shoes." you say, waving at everyone as they greet you too. you scan the table for a spare spot, only seeing one in between reiner and porco. your eyes lock with his, and he hastily looks away. as everyone falls into their own conversations, you stand near porco. "can i sit here?"
"see anywhere else you can sit?" he huffs back at you. you snicker, sitting down beside him and setting your jacket on the chair. everyone fell into conversation around you whilst you sat there quietly, playing with the napkin on your lap. porco stares at you for a moment before clearing his throat. "you look good. you... look nice."
your head turns to him, and a smile dawns on your face. "oh? thank you, porco. you look handsome tonight."
"thanks." he huffs, looking away. the food was coming now and he didn't want to look at your face as you stared at him. why were you so positive and sweet?
the dinner continues with small talk between the both of you and the rest of the table. zeke did his share of pushing porco and reiner's buttons, and you, bertholdt and pieck worked to mend their arguments.
as the food came and went, and drinks were topped off endlessly. colt was currently telling his own story about something funny that happened to him last week. he mentioned falco and gabi, and by the end of five minutes, porco was zoned out, drinking from his glass.
he was bored. as much as he enjoyed free food, he was so bored.
"i'm just gonna go to the bathroom." porco clears his throat, excusing himself.
he stands up, nudging against you genty by accident. but he finds himself brushing his hand against you and holding the back of your chair to stand up. you offered him a gentle smile, to which he nodded at and walked away.
"don't be too long, galliard." zeke chimes in, ellicting an eye roll from the said man, "we might miss you too much."
"suck it, jaeger." porco scoffs, fixing his collar as he leaves the table.
you watch him leave as everyone else falls into conversation. porco has always been different from everyone else, you realised. he was realistic, somewhat pessimistic, but always trying his best. you found yourself a little excited to be alone with him, but that was rare. there was never a good reason to be alone with him, and it was embarrassing to just say you wanted him to yourself.
so when you saw him pass the bathrooms and go straight to the empty balcony, you took your chance.
"i'll be back, gonna' go get a drink from the bar." you say, seeing the bar in the same direction as porco.
"damn, can't get enough, can you?" colt jokes, nodding to your empty glass.
"not all of us can be a lightweight like you." you chuckle, making your way over. it doesn't take you long til you open the door of the balcony and close it behind you. porco is leaning against the balcony railing, not hearing you until you clear your throat. "hey."
"oh, hey." he says, seeing you walk towards him.
"what are you doing out here?" you ask, standing beside him.
"gettin' some air. you?"
"followed you." porco raises a brow at you. "what? you looked lonely."
"shut up." he rolls his eyes, and runs his fingers through his hair. you catch yourself staring, then looking out to the city lights. "what're your plans for christmas?"
you lean against the railing, the night wind blowing towards you. "well, i'll go to my family's town for a few days, then come back here and celebrate myself." you explain, tilting your head, "yourself?"
"the same." he huffs, resting his hand on his neck, "marcel is expecting some souveniers."
"ha, right, right." you say, playing with your fingers. you secretly wished you could think of a more personal present for porco, you opted for a nice silver ring. you just needed a good time to give it to him before you both left. "hey, so—"
"i got you something." porco says, standing up straight. you stare at him, suddenly aware of how he looked in the moonlight and the soft yellows of the lights around you. he holds out a small box from his pocket. "merry christmas, y/n."
"porco, you didn't have to." you chuckle, taking the box from his hand.
"yeah i know. but you mentioned you lost yours. and i just so happened to be out and saw it." he claims as you pull out a bracelet that was so similar to yours that you lost. you were at a loss for words, only staring down at the gift. porco self-conciously shifted from foot to foot. "it's—it's not the exact one, but y'know."
"no, porco. i love it." you say, putting it on immediately. porco blinks and lets out a sigh of relief. "thank you so much. i... the gift i got you is actually in my jacket pocket. i'll give it to you later."
"oh, i didn't know." porco says, hands bracing the metal in front of you.
you've never had solid proof that porco liked you more than a friend, but this had to be it, right? you scan his face to see him smiling a little, before you look up and see the plant hanging above your heads. he doesn't see the red berries and green leaves, but you don't say a word.
"hey, porco?" you call.
"mhm?" he replies.
"let me kiss you?" you ask, leaning against his shoulder. porco's eyes stay on you, blank-faced. he doesn't know how to say 'yes'.
"what? you wanna' kiss me?" he reiterates.
you respond, tilting your head at him, "i've always wanted to kiss you." you say, "so can i?"
porco takes a deep breath in, looking down at your lips for a few seconds. and he nods nods head. you lean forward first, making the move to kiss porco and rest a hand against his shoulder. porco's hand is on your cheek, keeping you connected.
your fingers are hot against his arm, even through the shirt he wore. his cologne filled the air, and it was just as intoxicating as any other alcohol. as handsome as he was, the way porco took care of you was even more attractive.
he kissed you softly, making sure not to overstep and to gently brush his thumb against your cheekbone. you were warm compared to the cold air. the kiss lasted shorter than any of you would've wanted, but the look on each others' face was worth it.
"i've never actually kissed anyone under a mistletoe before." you admit, patting his shoulder.
he furrows his brows before looking up, seeing the mentioned item above you two. be then chuckles, "sneaky."
"you wanna' come to mine for christmas?" you ask, caressing his arm. porco grins a little, hair falling out of place. as he pushes it back, you hold the box in your other hand. "we can cook and watch movies. after we come back from our family's, of course."
"sounds good to me." porco says, pulling you closer. you chuckle, wrapping an arm around his shoulder. he leans closer to you, earning another smile. "another one?"
who were you to reject him?

Good Luck Charms: Charles Leclerc
Formula One Masterlist
word count: 1.5k
description: You and Charlie met two years ago and he swore then that you and your niece were his good luck charms which still proves true now.
Tumblr media
Charles had been making his way towards the Ferrari garage when his eyes landed on you. You were the most gorgeous woman he had ever laid eyes on and he was desperate to meet you. You stood there talking with Lewis as you held a child on your hip. Charles was getting ready to head to his garage when he heard Lewis call out after him.
"Charles! Mate come here and meet my friend." Lewis called out to him.
Charles shook the nerves out of his system, and made his way over to where you guys were, praying he didn't make a fool of himself. Once he got closer, he saw that you were wearing a Ferrari shirt which made him smile wondering who was your favorite him or Carlos.
"Charles this is my good friend y/n and her niece Reign." Lewis said.
"Nice to meet you y/n Im Charles. You're a Ferrari fan?" He asked you.
"Yes I am, you're actually my favorite driver but don't tell Lewis." You said with a laugh.
"That hurts y/n." Lewis said making Charles laugh.
"Secrets safe with me. And who's this cuties favorite?" He asked you.
"We're still trying to figure it out, but I would like to think she takes after me and likes Ferrari." You said making him smile.
"Or she'll end up like Mercedes." Lewis said as you rolled your eyes.
"Sure she will." You said to him.
Charles laughed as you watched you and Lewis argued back and forth with each other like you were siblings.
"Drivers please report to your cars, the race is about to start." A voice said over the intercom.
"Alright I've got to go, it was lovely to meet you y/n and Reign. I hope you enjoy the race and maybe I'll see you afterwards?" He said.
"Maybe you will. Good luck Charles." You said giving him that beautiful smile of yours.
Charles made his way towards his car with a big smile on his face, more determinate to have a really good race today since he knew you would be watching. The race was a tough and close one with Max winning, Charles in second, Sergio in third, and Lewis in fifth. Charles stood up on the podium eyes searching the crowd for you and Reign and smiling when he found you two, already making plans to find you two after everything.
You stood by the Ferrari garage hoping to see Charles before you had to leave since Reign was getting restless. After thirty minutes of waiting, you gave up feeling a bit disappointed and decided to head back to the hotel so Reign could rest. You carried Reign gently in your arms making sure she stayed asleep until you reached your car still thinking about Charles.
You reached your car and gently set her in car seat and buckling her in. You had just finished up when your phone vibrated making you pull it out as you saw a text from Lewis.
Lew 🏎️💨: Your boyfriend is headed to meet you at your car, so don't freak out and swing on him 👀
y/n 🫢: First off not my boyfriend 🙄and second off I would never punch his gorgeous self 😡
After texted Lewis back you looked up and saw Charles running over to you, making you look at him with a smile.
"Thank god your here. I swear I tried to find you and Reign as soon as I could." He said.
"It's alright Charlie, I understand but I'm glad that you still found us before we left." You said to him.
"Me too. I hope that I am not begin to froward with this but could I maybe have your number?" He asked you.
"You can." You said as two exchanged phones to put yall's numbers in.
"Oh and congratulations on second place, you did really good today." You told him after he gave your phone back.
"Thank you! I think I had a good luck charm there today." He said making you smile.
"Is that so?" You asked him.
"Yeah I think I have two of them and I hope that I will see them again." He said to you as you felt the heat rush to your cheeks.
"I have a feeling you will. Good night Charlie." You said before climbing into your car.
Once I got Reign asleep in her bed, I jumped in shower washing the day away while still thinking about Charles and how charming he was. After you showered you climbed into your bed, and were watching some tv show until your phone went off, making you smile when you saw who it was.
Charlie 😘: hope you and reign made it to your hotel safely ♥️
Y/n 💗: we did, thanks for checking in! I hope you have a great night and congratulations again on second place 🥹
*PRESENT DAY*
You and Charlie had been dating for over a year now and were very much in love. You, Reign and him and become a mini family with how much you guys watched Reign for her mom aka your best friend  and her mom absolutely loved him once she saw how good he was to you and Reign. You two were currently in Singapore, getting ready to head to the track where you were surprising Charlie who had no idea. He had called you a week ago and asked if his girls or his lucky charms as the fans called you and Reign were coming to the race and at the time you weren't able to since you had work and reign had school but with a little shuffling around and some help from your best friend, Lewis, and Carlos you two were about to surprise your boyfriend.
"y/n? Are we going to see Charlie?" Reign asked.
"We sure are bug, but he doesn't know that we are." You said as you guys walked out of the elevator.
"Ooh are we gonna surprise him like we did with Lewis?" She asked making you laugh as you remember how you all surprised Lewis for his birthday this year.
"Just like that. But this time Uncle Lewis and Carlos are going to help us surprise Charlie." You said to her as you guys walked to your car.
"Oooh Uncle Carlos!" She said as he was currently her favorite uncle right now.
You smiled at her as you got her buckled into her seat, and you guys drove to the track where you texted the guys that you two had made it since you were in a group chat. A few minutes later you saw Lewis make his way over to you guys.
"Lew Lew!" Reign said running up and hugging him.
"Reign bug! Look at how big you've gotten." He said picking her up and spinning her around.
"Hey y/n." He said setting her down and hugging you.
"Hey Lew Lew. Thank you for helping me do this for him." You said.
"Of Course. Carlos is distracting him well trying to, he's really upset that you two couldn't be here." He said making you frown.
"I know but I hope he'll be happy to see us." You said taking Reigns hand and following Lewis.
"Trust me he will be. You two are the light of his world." He said squeezing your shoulder in reassurance.
You nodded your head as you guys made your way through the paddock trying to avoid being seen as much as possible. You guys finally made it to his drivers room, where you could hear Carlos talking to him.
"I missed them so much Carlos, it's so weird not having them here with me." He said making your heart swell.
Lewis nodded his head and you gently opened the door and let Reign run in first followed by you and Lewis.
"Charlie!" She said running over and tackling him with a hug.
"Reign bug what are you doing here? Y/n amour what are you doing here?" He asked shocked as you made your way over to him.
"Because I could hear how sad you were when I told you we wouldn't be able to come today so between Reign's mom and these two we came up with a plan to surprise. So surprise!" You said placing a kiss on his lips.
"Surprise indeed! I'm so happy my girls are here. Thank you guys!" He said to Lewis and Carlos as he hugged you and Reign.
"Of course mate, we knew you needed your good luck charms for today's race." Lewis said as him and Carlos left the room.
"I'm really happy you both are here." He said looking at you as Reign sat in his lap.
"Me too. I love you Charlie." You said smiling at him.
"I love you y/n." He said pressing a kiss to your lips.
Eventually it was time for the race to start, so you guys wished him luck with a good luck kiss from you and good luck handshake from Reign. The race was so close with Charles and Max constantly battling for first place until it came down to the final lap and Charlie overtook Max and Charlie won the race.
"Y/n! Charlie won!" Reign said cheering and looking at you with a big smile on her face.
"I know angel, I'm so proud of him." You said as you lead her out the garage to watch him do a burnout up close.
You thought he would've done a burnout but instead he climbed out of the car, and made his way over to where you two were and picked Reign up and then pulled you in for a kiss.
"Congratulations baby, we're so proud of you." You said smiling at him.
"Congratulations Uncle Charlie." Reign said wrapping her arms around him.
"Thank you, I couldn't have done without my good luck charms. I love you both so much." He said hugging you both tightly.

kenma kozume x reader (fem)
some drabbles on your rivals to lovers relationship with kenma !
words: 1.4k
warnings/tw: all characters are 18+, college AU(?), mean! kenma, enemies to lovers, and some suggestive themes.
a/n: I just needed to write about kenma being mean to you and you being mean back, if you want I can make a smut version as well... heavily inspired by the Netflix series "The Beef", made me cry sm . like, comment, re-blog ily ! don't copy my work . not proofread .
Tumblr media
★ As soon as he met you he despised you . He couldn't stand the sound of your annoying ass voice, all he wanted was to sit in peace . Usually he doesn't mind being around loud people but you... You pissed him off for some reason, he never wanted to be around you.
"I don't think Kenma likes me..." you whispered in Kuroo's ear. You started to sense Kenma rolling his eyes at you and scoffing every time you spoke. He annoyed you, if he had something to say, you wanted him to say it to your face .
It was so obvious you were talking about Kenma, he sat in front of you and Kuroo. You talked so loud, you couldn't even whisper silently, it irked Kenma even more.
"You're fine Y/n, everyone loves you," Kuroo reassured, patting your back, gently.
Kenma furrowed his eyebrows as he played his game. Yeah right, he can't even stand you. He would never be able to like someone so childish and annoying...
★ He hates the fact that all of his friends adored you. He knows damn well they only like you because you are somewhat attractive. He knows what you are thinking when you show up to their practices in skirts and tank tops, he knows that you're just there because you're a slut .
"Stop distracting our team, just get out of here... We don't want you here anyway," Kenma mumbled, sweat dripping from his forehead.
To be fair, you were kind of distracting Kuroo and Lev by talking to them whenever they got the chance to speak with you. But still! It infuriated you that Kenma worded it like that, it was rude!
"No need to be rude Kenma, I'm here to support my friends," you retorted, crossing your arms. you've about had it with him, you know he doesn't like you. And it pisses you off because you did nothing!
★ Kenma loathed the way his friends talk about you any chance they get. You are a cute girl, those boys just can't help themselves. Still, it makes Kenma frustrated.
"Y/n is so sweet, she made me some brownies today," Kuroo swooned. Kuroo had a little thing for you, you weren't aware of this but all of the boys knew.
"Oh yeah? Well she's planning to wear my jersey the next time we have a game," Yaku teased.
"She said she'll be cheering for me at the next game too. Only me," Lev added, punching Kuroo's shoulder playfully.
Kuroo started to visibly sulk.
"...I hate you guys... She won't be doing any of that, she's going to-"
"Can you guys please shut up? I'm tired of hearing about Y/n, that's all you guys ever talk about. It's annoying," Kenma said, his eyes glued to his phone.
★ Finally, you confronted him at a party in front of everyone. After that day, the two of you HATED each other, or so you thought. You could never see yourself being friends with him, ever.
"What the hell is your problem?! You spilled that drink on me on purpose!" you yelled, very angry at the situation. You were embarrassed, everyone saw, it made you feel like crying. You had issues when it came to having everyone pay attention to you. You only liked being around your group of friends, not the whole damn party.
Kenma did spill his drink on you but it wasn't on purpose, it was a simple accident. He bumped into you as you were dancing with Kuroo and Bokuto, causing his cup to spill on your clothes. Still, he found it amusing when he saw you get angry at the situation, so he did not apologize or even acknowledge you until you called him out.
"I didn't do it on purpose so..."
"Yes you did!" you exclaimed, Kuroo held on to your shoulder, trying to calm you down.
"Let's calm down y/n," Kuroo tried to say.
"Stop trying to defend her idiotic ways. She can handle things herself, she's not a damn baby," Kenma commented, feeling more aggravated
Kenma pinched his eyebrows together.
"What did I ever do to you?! Seriously! You're always so mean for no reason! I knew you didn't like me but holy fuck, spilling a drink on me is a bit much!"
"So bothersome... I'm going to tell you this once. I. Did. Not. You fucking idi-"
Slap!
★ After the whole slap situation Kenma saw you in a different light kind of... He still hated your guts but he did notice how strong and confident you were. He couldn't help but admire some of the good aspects of you. So instead of dreading you, he openly speaks to you, only making rude comments of course. And you did not hold back either.
"What should I wear to Akaashi's party?" you asked, showing off a few outfits to Kuroo and Bokuto. The men sat on the floor, they loved listening to your rants and their favorite thing to do is tell you what to wear.
"The black skirt is cute," Bokuto said, pointing at the skirt in your left hand.
"No way! I like the dress, it always shows off your natural curves," Kuroo added, giving you a sly wink.
You giggled at their suggestions, Kuroo and Bokuto were your favorite friends.
Kenma groaned, bored of the conversation, he was dragged there because he is Kuroo's best friend so he was forced to go wherever he went.
"Do you have an issue?" you asked, sassily, placing your hands on your hips.
"Your voice is so damn annoying,"
You pretended to gasp, gripping your chest. "How mean Kenma!... Is what I would say if I cared. I didn't even want you here so please refrain from making any unnecessary comments,"
Kenma rolled his eyes at your bratty attitude.
★ You two banter all the time, some would consider it flirting but you never saw it in that way. Mutual disrespect for each other... Yeah, only mutual disrespect.
You whined, begging Kuroo not to leave you with Kenma. He was on his way to class, if he went to class, you'd be left with Kenma.
"Please Tetsuro!" you begged, giving him the best puppy eyes you could. "Stay! Skip class! Please!!"
Kuroo smiled, he loved seeing your bratty side, it excited him. "You know I can't n/n, just stay with Kenma, I'll be done in an hour,"
You groaned. Kenma cocked his eyebrow at you.
"Trust me, I'm not happy either," he mumbled, his hands shoved deep into his sweatshirt pockets.
"Oh of course you are Kenma! I know you're in love with me, you love being around me!" you cheered, sarcastically.
Kenma visibly gagged, causing Kuroo to laugh.
★ Eventually though... The two of you were forced to be around each other more, creating an unusual bond. You both don't directly hate each other, you just don't have a super stable friendship. But! You guys can be with each other without having the mean tension.
"Sup bitch, have you seen Kuroo?" you asked, placing your legs on Kenma's lap.
He shoved them off him instantly.
"Disgusting. And I don't know where he is, I think he went to grab some snacks for movie night,"
You hummed to yourself. A happy tune was in your mind and you couldn't help but hum.
"Can you hum quieter? Holy shit, so annoying," Kenma said, pulling his own hair. Obviously he was joking.
And with him saying that, you hummed as loud as you could.
★ Uh oh... Why did he have to walk in on you changing your clothes... That just made some things weird between you two...
"Idiot, where are you-"
Your face burned with embarrassment, you were in the middle of removing your shirt in your room. Why the hell did he have to come in right now?!
The two of you just stared at each other... In complete silence, unsure how to break the awkward tension.
Luckily, Kenma slammed the door shut.
"What the fuck," he thought, taking a deep breath. "No fucking way..." he continued thinking, looking down at his pants.
Kuroo ran to the scene, worried about the door being slammed.
"What's up with you? Oh shit man you have a boner," Kuroo commented, pointing at his pants.
"No shit!"
You heard the whole conversation, shaking your head, wishing you didn't hear anything.
★ After that the two of you just teased each other, meanly, sometimes being harsh. And actually started building a friendship, not a friendly one though.
"Slut,"
"Pervert,"
"You wanted me to walk in on you," Kenma yawned, placing his hands behind his head.
The two of you were currently walking through the hallways, planning to meet up with Kuroo. This was the first time you guys spoke about the situation. It made your cheeks burn thinking about it. But... It made Kenma feel other things.
"Shut up! You probably were spying on me! You wanted to see me like that,"
Kenma shrugged. "I still think you wanted me to walk in on you,". He faked a gasp "Are you in love with me?!"
"You wish," you rolled your eyes.
That's all I have for now... Maybe I'll make a part 2, just wanted to drabble some scenarios :x

The Fate of the Furious
ALIVE: Deckard Shaw x fem!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: She thought Deckard Shaw died - yet luckily he didn't. After joining the crew on the rooftop, he had some explaining to do.
Notes: English isn't my first language. I apologize for any mistake I may have made while I wrote this short story.
A quiet thank you for my friend who watched these movies with me during a movie night. I love you <3
Warnings: swearing, mentioned violence and death
•••
"Oh, this will be good." Roman said to Tej as he poked - or rather punched - his arm. Both of them looked at the scenario in front of them, suddenly forgetting about their bickering over Ramsey.
Perhaps if things went differently, they'd stop arguing to quietly laugh at Shaw carrying a baby - only silently, because they perefer living over dying. Shaw with a baby was something they couldn't imagine at all, yet the thing Roman pointed out wasn't the baby. No, it was Shaw himself, who clearly overestimated his self-worth if he showed up there after the stunt he pulled.
And just in time, the girl whose feelings were very obviously hurt because of the said stunt noticed Shaw's arrival - and she looked like she's seen a ghost.
"No way, man. I really don't want to see this." Tej answered unsurely, leaning back in his seat.
"You won't want to miss it either. She'll kick his ass, that's for sure." In no other scenario would Roman dare to say that - the guy might have super hearing or something.
And just like that, the show started.
"You dick!" the shouting was so loud everyone's gaze was on her, but then - after understanding the situation - they decided to look away, not wanting to become a target of her wrath. "You absolute fucking asshole!"
"Come on, sweetheart, don't curse in front of the-"
"Don't you act like you suddenly give a shit about someone!"
"Oh, he fucked up!" Roman laughed in his seat.
"He fucked up big time." Tej agreed, and it was very rare that they did.
"No way I'd be him right now..."
Her expression was a mixture of anger and hurt, and she very clearly didn't want anyone else there to intervene - no man would dare to either way and they wouldn't succeed in doing so without getting a punch to the face.
But Letty, understanding her feelings because she was the only one she had talked to about them, did her best to diffuse the situation - in front of the child at least.
"I'll take him, don't you worry." she took the infant seat from Shaw, who had the expression of betrayal on his face.
"Thanks for your help, now why don't you go and talk this out?" if Dom's voice was anything to go by, he secretly very much enjoyed seeing Shaw's face as his son, the safety blanket he could hide behind was taken from him.
"Yeah, why don't we go and talk this out, Shaw?"
Ramsey gasped behind them and Dom patted Shaw on the back, sending him the luck he'll need. Roman poked Tej on the arm again, Hobbs chuckled from not so far away.
Deckard Shaw must have fucked up big time - he himself knew that too. It's been months since she called him Shaw. He was never Shaw, only Deckard or maybe if he was lucky enough, Deck. But he was never ever Shaw.
"All right, let's talk this out, sweetheart."
She hugged herself with her arms, not giving him the opportunity to hold onto her hand. Deckard didn't try to do so though, he understood where the line was and he didn't want to overstep it.
They walked to the other side of the roof, away from their gazes and voices, and only then did her eyes start to water.
Deckard wasn't good at apologies, but even he knew that's the time for one. She's hurt and rightfully so, but he didn't mean to hurt her at all. God, he'd go to Hell and back for her and he knew she'd do the same - they knew more than a few things about the other and they liked the other even if they don't like many people.
But now she's sad and hurt - and angry, because of Deckard and he didn't know what he should do to make it better.
"Sweetheart, I-"
"No, don't you fucking sweetheart me." Sweetheart was the petname Deckard saved for her and didn't use it on anybody else. "I thought you died, do you know how that feels? I thought you fucking died!" she grabbed onto the railing to try and regain her strength. "Do you know that I cried for you? I fucking cried for you. I almost went after Dom by myself to hurt him like he hurt me and Dom is my friend!"
He put his hand on her shoulder and she let him, but she didn't look at him at all.
"And then you just call me to tell me everything is okay, I- I don't know what hurt more: that you didn't tell me or that you don't trust me enough to tell me stuff like that."
"I trust you. I trust you and I don't trust anybody else." Deckard touched both of her shoulders to turn her towards him.
He expected her to be angry or sad, he even expected a punch to the face, like when she playfully hit him after a way too bad one liner on a mission. But she didn't do any of that.
No, she was crying. And if Deckard was bad at apologies, then he was even worse at comforting crying women - especially someone he genuinely cares about.
"Why didn't you tell me not to worry?" her voice was high pitched, the kind Deckard hadn't heard before. She never cried. He hadn't seen her cry.
He made her cry.
"Because I needed her to believe it."
It was a poor excuse. He knew it - she knew it.
Yet it was still better than not saying anything or him just saying a 'fuck you'.
"So you're okay? Not even a small cut?" she asked looking at his face, trying to find some scars.
"You know me, sweetheart." he smiled and she was the only one who has ever seen him smile. "And I know you too, so if you'll punch me please tell me so I can get ready."
She chuckled. "Because?"
"Because your punches are really fucking strong."
That was the kind of compliment Deckard Shaw gave her, the kind only she recieved and no one else. And she smiled at that too, even if her eyes were still teary and the pain and fear didn't fully go away.
"I don't want to punch you."
"Really?" he had a suspicion that she really wanted to.
"Really. I just got you back and you want me to hurt you straight away?"
"I'd let you and I'd deserve it too."
He really meant that, she thought as she examined his face, trying to find some dishonesty. She couldn't find any - but to her surprise, his eyes were soft. There was some softness in there, the kind no one's ever seen, because they didn't deserve to see it.
"No, just..." she wiped away the tears and pushed his hands off her shoulders as she leaned against the railing. "I just want you to promise me that you'll tell me- the next time, because in a job like ours there will be a next time for sure."
"Yeah, I promise."
She smiled softly, her wrath slowly disappearing and tiredness took its place. She looked tired.
"You know, we never really talk about it, but just so you know, you mean a lot to me." she said quietly, as if she's confessing something she's not ready for yet. "And I mean it. I really do. No joke or anything."
"I know." he really knew, and he also knew that not many people would do that for him. "And I'd kill for you."
"I know, you already did." she chuckled. "And not even once."
"They deserved it."
"In your eyes everyone deserves to die who looks at us the wrong way." she said remembering all the times Deckard decided to pull out a gun to shoot someone who was unfriendly. "Actually, I'm surprised Hobbs is still with us."
"I promised to fight him one day."
"Yeah, I'm not surprised about that at all." she looked at the others who sat around the table talking. "You'd win."
"I know I would."
"But he'd kick your ass too. He asked me if I want him to do that after the stunt you pulled. I said I'd think about it."
"And what do you think?"
"You'd deserve it, but I'm leaning towards a no."
Deckard laughed and so did she. It was good to laugh with him again.
They stayed quiet after that. She didn't know what else to say or rather how she should talk about the things she should definitely talk about. She thought of the last few hours and days, how Letty was there for her after Deck's fake death - and what they talked about. How she regretted not telling him the things she wanted to.
"I didn't mean it like that." she spoke up after a while. "When I said you mean a lot to me." she had his full attention, she knew it and felt it in his gaze. "I meant that I think about you as more than a friend."
She continued to look at her friends again, watched as they laughed and talked. Dom had his son in his arms and Roman and Tej were arguing again. She focused on every small detail instead of looking Deck in the eyes.
"I know what you meant sweetheart. That's what I meant when I said I'd kill for you." she had to look at him when his hand was on hers. "I just can't let them see me as a softie, can I?"
He was teasing her and he was grinning, and in that moment for her he was the most lovable, playful asshole in the whole world.
"You dick!" she shouted with a laugh as she hit his arm and she felt the others' eyes on herself. "You come back from the dead and you act like this? I should let Hobbs kick your ass. Being soft with me is the least you can do to apologize."
"I knew you wanted to hit me."
She hit him on the arm again - this time the both of them were grinning like idiots and she wouldn't have it any other way.
"Of course I do. This is the worst love confession I've ever seen."
"But you wouldn't have me any other way."
"That's right, I wouldn't. I'd be way too bored without you in my life."
This time he caught her arm before it could land and his hold on her wrist was gentle. That hand could kill and punch - and he looked damn good when he did that -, but it would never ever hurt her. Not intentionally.
They both leaned in to kiss the other - and they most likely argued about who had the balls to initiate the first kiss later. It was a great kiss, a damn good one. The one what's full of passion and emotion, the one that made her stomach tighten.
"I love you, you idiot, but if you act like you're dead in front of me ever again I--" he kissed her again to shut her up.
"I love you too."
"So much for not being a softie." she giggled as she hugged him, hiding her face from everyone - because she was grinning like an idiot in love.
"You won't let this one go, will you?"
"Not at all." she answered. "By the way, just so you know, Dom wasn't the only one who called your mother."
"You did not call my mother."
"I didn't want to punch you, but she'll definitely scold you for me."
She smirked as she saw his expression. "You're one evil woman."
"But you wouldn't have me any other way." she quoted.
On the other side of the roof the table was set a long time ago and everyone was waiting for the two of them to join in so they can start to eat. Although watching the drama before eating wasn't too bad either.
"You know, as much as I dislike him, I'm happy she's happy." Ramsey said after the pair kissed.
"I was right man, I really didn't want to see that." it was Tej's turn to poke Roman, who only stared at Deckard and her in disbelief.
"I expected more drama." Rome said with clear disappointment in his voice. "And why is she in love with the guy? What does he have that I don't?"
"Why don't you go ahead and tell that to him yourself. I'm sure he'd happily answer you with a punch." Tej teased him with a grin. "Go ahead boss, ask him."
"I hate you all..."

Would you please do a Mark Sloan x Grey!reader who is Meredith’s twin sister? When he first goes to Grey Sloan he is determined to get with her.

You had just left the locker room to finally go home, you were just waiting for Meredith. As you scrolled through the messages on your phone you sensed someone else's presence, and as soon as you looked up you found yourself in front of Mark Sloan. Well, that wasn't new, he was always wherever you were, he never left you alone for a moment. He flirted with you whenever he could, almost embarrassed you, but you got used to it by now.
"Hey, can I bring you home?" he approached with his usual smirk on his face.
"No thanks, I'm waiting for Mer" you went back to checking your messages.
"And if I bring in a restaurant?" when he wants he gets so stubborn.
"I'm not really hungry"
"Then... a little walk?" you sighed smiling. In fact, if he would have continued like this you would have given in.
But why not, I mean he's hot, and je's also an excellent company...
"Hey, come on" Meredith came out of the locker room. Just in time.
"Bye doctor Sloan" you greeted him taking Meredith by the arm to drag her away from there before she wasted any more time with Cristina.
"Finally" you sighed rolling your eyes.
"How's it going with your...?"
"Shut up, he's my nothing" you shut her up as you walked towards the car. She looked so amused selling you like that.
"You know, he used to flirt with me too" Meredith said as you got into the car.
"Really? And...?"
"Well, I think I'd have accepted if Derek hadn't punched him straight in the face before he even finished to talking with me" she laughed at the memory. You laughed with her.
"When did all this happen?" you asked curiously.
"It was before you came here, you should have been there"
"Oh yes. But maybe it's been better like this, cause now you and Derek are good together" you said thinking about it.
"Yeah, maybe... so you can have him all for you"
"Shut up!" oh you know she'll annoy you for a long time.
Before she could start to say any more you turned on the radio hoping to find a decent song, then stared out the window for a while.
"Hey" you got Meredith's attention.
"What?"
"Why did Derek punch him?" you asked confused since you were aware that those two were best friends.
"Well... he slept with his wife, Addison..."
"Wait, what?? Why didn't I know it?!"
"It's happened a long time ago, nobody talks about it anymore" your sister said. You would never have imagined this.
Well, you knew that making mistakes was human, things had now been resolved, but he had always remained the same that he knew what he wanted.
Without even realizing it, you had already arrived home, you got out of the car and as soon as you entered, you both threw yourself on the sofa, exhausted.
The next morning you arrived at the hospital together, and as soon as you had got ready and divided, punctually like every morning, you were greeted by Mark who brought you a coffee.
"Good morning Y/n"
"Good morning" you just took the coffee and drank it right away. It was all you needed.
"You know, you're prettier with loose hair" the fact that he noticed it caused you a little smile, usually you always kept them tied in a ponytail, you hated them.
"Thank you" he said goodbye one last time before leaving to go to a patient.
"Doctor Sloan!" he spun around as soon as he heard your voice calling him.
"Yeah?" he came back to you.
"I, ok, well, you... you're a very good perdon..." his attention increased. "And you're also really handsome, but... I don't know if-"
"No no no, don't finish that phrase, please" you stopped to listen to him, you had no other choice. "You can't say that you don't know if it con work if we didn't even tried. You're beautiful, you're smart, and I really like you, I exactly know what I want, and I won't stop. So if you'll say yes I'll do everything to make you happy and make it work" those words made you feel a weird sensation... he had managed to hit you. No one had ever told you these things. Now you didn't even know what to answer.
"Then Y/n... can I bring you out this time, please?" you laughed at the way he asked you.
"I'd love to" you smiled at him as your gazes met for a moment, until his pager rang.
"See you later baby"
"I can't wait" you watched him walk away.
A pleasant date with a man completely crazy about you awaited you tonight.

Oh damn yes I can. I gave Higuchi a bit of trooma. Hope you enjoy it♡

Today was the day Higuchi finally decided to tell Akutagawa what she felt for him. It wouldn't be easy, she knew that much; but she simply couldn't stand hiding her feelings anymore. Every time she saw him the unrelenting voice in her head urged her to confess: Tell him tell him tell him tell him...
And now she was ready to do it. Higuchi marched towards his office, going over the plan in her mind: she was going to knock on the door, ask if she can come in, drop off the reports for the day then ask for a few minutes of his time. And after that she'll finally confess her unyielding love for him.
By the time she reached the mahogany doors of Akutagawa's office she had managed to calm her rapid heartbeat. With a quivering hand, she got ready to knock on the door when she heard a mirthful giggle.
"Ryu, stop we're at work"
"You think I care about that?" someone replied in a low voice. The recognition of the man's voice was like a punch to the stomach; it was Akutagawa.
Carefully, she pried the door open and peaked inside the room. The setting sun cast long streaks of light through the windows, bathing the office in a sea of gold. Higuchi's gaze wandered across the room, landing on your figure.
You were perched on Akutagawa's wooden desk with your skirt pulled a little above your knees. Silky black tresses fell just above your shoulders, framing your face in the most beautiful way. With an elegant movement you sweeped your curtain bangs to the side, exposing your visage.
Saying that you were pretty or cute would be an understatement. No, you were straight up gorgeous; with delicate yet fierce features and vivid eyes which bore a shadow of longing. Your lips curled in a soft smile as you batted your lashes at the man in front of you.
"You should care, darling" you stated in a voice that reminded Higuchi of windchimes.
Akutagawa's hands traced the expanse of your thighs, sliding around your waist as he positioned himself between your legs.
"Too bad I don't" he said in a voice laced with urgency. He had his back turned so Higuchi couldn't see his face, but she was certain that it mirorred yours: a languid smile and half lidded eyes
Usually, when Higuchi suspected that someone had a crush on Akutagawa she would throw fists, but now she felt too defeated. She felt a pang of jealousy when the man leaned in and traced freathery kisses along your neck, earning a chuckle from you. Your arm hooked around his neck, pulling him closer to your body; his hands squeezed the plush of your hips. You let out a small moan when he kissed your sweet spot and his legs slightly shook; your lithe fingers entangled in his raven locks, causing him to hiss lightly. Action-reaction. Higuchi could never get anything except a frown of a curse out of him.
And then again, how could she ever dream of comparing herself to you? You looked like a goddess and were probably smarter and more powerful then her. Even from afar she coould tell that every pore of your body exuded confidence and something ethereal, like you were bathed in moonlight.
Suddenly, your head tilted to the side and your eyelids fluttered open. Your gaze met hers.
Higuchi could see your eyes shot open, but you tried your best to conceal your surprise. Even so Akutagawa sensed the light jolt of your body and quickly pulled away, his eyes following yours and...
"Higuchi" he hissed "What the fuck are you doing here. Come inside right now."
His frame immediately covered yours as you haphazardly fumbled with your skirt and shirt.
Higuchi's legs moved without her knowing; she opened the heavy door and stepped inside with her head bowed down.
"Senpai I can explain-" she began in hushed voice but she was quickly interrupted by her superior.
"What were you thinking? Do you know how sick it is, spying on other people? Not to mention that I only get one break and now I have to spend it scolding you. You -"
"Hey Ryu. Let her be, ok? Don't yell at her" you said in a gentle tone, placing a hand on his shoulder.
The second he heard your words any trace of anger in Akutagawa's eyes dissipated; as if he were under a spell. He slowly turned your head to face you with an apologetic look on his face.
"I'm sorry she just... always does that."
That. Higuchi felt the weight of the words like a blow. That... She always interrupted, annoyed, displeased, made a mess of things. Tears started blurring her vision and when she finally raised her head, she saw the two of you like static on a tv.
"Higuchi" you said in the same gentle voice. "Are you here to turn in those reports?"
Without waiting for her answer you took the envelope from her shaking hands and placed it on Akutagawa's desk.
"Can we help you with anything else?" you then asked, a hint of urgency in your voice; it was a kind invitation for her to leave. Her lips quivered as she tried to apologize for the intrusion but Akutagawa once again cut her off.
"Just get out of here, please. You have duties you need to tend to."
The golden haired woman turned on her heels and walked out of the room, further down the dark hallway. She could still hear your muffled voice as you scolded your boyfriend for being so rude to her.
"You can't treat her like that, Ryu. She always works so hard for you, at least be nicer ok love?"
Higichi's stomach twisted upon hearing your words. Even through she intruded your privacy today and witnessed an intimate moment, something only the two of you should share you still took her side.
Of course, you were the better person and she was never going to compete with you. She straightened her back and, with tear stained cheeks, walked back inside her office and shut the door; sheltering herself from the world she left behind.

A Ghost Of A Man (PART NINE)
Summary: As the readers health continues to decline, Tommy takes her back to Birmingham to see his Aunt. Will Polly even be able to help?
Warnings: Language, supernatural themes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was morning, Tommy had stayed up with you all night watching you slowly drift in and out of sleep. You didn't have a fever, you wasn't shivering, he prayed it was only exhaustion.
" Tommy it's fine, I'm feeling better" you said opening your eyes to see him sitting on the edge of the bed next to you.
" You're not fine Y/N" he said looking at your pale ghostly face, the colour of your eyes muted, lifeless.
" Look I am, ok" you said getting up from the bed, summoning up the energy to prove him wrong " I'll be fine Tommy, go, it's not like I'm going anywhere" you laughed weakly.
"I'm staying" he said sighing as he stood up to rub your back.
" Tommy, Curly's here, he'll look after me" you said placing a hand on his chest, desperate to lay back down and close your eyes. Stroking your cheek with his thumb, Tommy lowered his head, tenderly kissing your lips. Sighing he looked over to the door.
" Curly" he called out.
" Yes Tommy" he said peaking his head down the catch.
" Look after her ok?" He said pointing his finger to him.
" Oh yes Tommy, don't you worry, she'll be just fine" he replied, as he went back on deck to steer the narrow boat.
" She means everything to me" he said quietly turning his head back to you as he cupped your cheeks. " Everything" he added pecking your lips gently once again.
The moment Tommy left the boat you stumbled back falling onto the bed, too weak to stand any longer. There was something very wrong, the intense buzzing noise relentlessly drummed on in your ears as your hands shook at the pain that pulsed through your weak body. For the next two hours you laid in bed shivering as you hugged yourself, crying thinking that at any moment you was going to die. You needed help. Finally giving into the pain, you pushed away your stubbornness to soldier on and made your way up the small wooden steps
"Curly? Curly..I need Tommy.." you said as you collapsed down the small stairs onto the cabin floor. Rushing to you, Curly gently tapped the side of your face trying to wake you up.
" I'll help you up Miss Y/N" he said as he picked you up, carrying you over to the small bed. Panicked, Curly rushed back on deck as he fetched a large bucket of water, pulling out a small rag from his jacket, he soaked the cloth in the cold water as he gently placed it onto your forehead. Bolting up from the sudden coldness you regained consciousness.
" You're burning up Miss Y/N" he stumbled out.
" Get Tommy, I need Tommy" you said weakly holding onto his arm.
" Tommy, yes, yes, I'll go get Tommy" he said as he hurried up the stairs out onto the docks. Seeing Tommy in the distance walking towards him, Curly started running up the path .
" Curly!?" Tommy called out, as he saw him running his way, panic in his eyes.
" It's Miss Y/N, Tom. She's on fire, has a fever like I've never seen" he said as he came to a stop in front of him. Searching Curly's eyes in panic and confusion, Tommy started sprinting along the dock to the January as fast as he could.
"Y/N..Y/N!" he said rushing down the steps to your side, touching your head only to quickly remove it at the sheer heat of your pale skin.
" Tommy..what's happening?" You said opening your eyes to see the fear in his.
" I need to get her to my Aunt, Curly" he said turning his head to Curly's frantic state. " Curly! Find a car, ok" he said walking to him, holding him by his arms " A car?" He reaffirmed as he handed him a bundle of money.
" A car, yes Tom, I'll find you a car" Curly replied rushing off the boat. Turning back to face you, Tommy brushed his hand down his face.
"Fuck!" He said losing control of his emotions as he punched a hole into the frail wooden wall.
"Tommy.." you croaked, reaching your hand out for him.
" Hey, hey I'm here ok, It's gonna be alright, everything is gonna be alright" He said no longer sure if he was trying to comfort you or himself anymore. Holding your hand in his, whilst his lips rested on your knuckles he watched you... watched as you slowly closed your eyes, drifting away again.
For two hours through the pouring rain, Tommy drove as fast as he could to Birmingham from Camden Town. You laid in the back seats covered in a blanket, drifting in and out of sleep as sweat gathered on your fragile skin. Turning around, Tommy looked at your weak state as you lay there shivering. Slamming both his hands onto the steering wheel he clenched his jaw, unable to do anything. Tommy Shelby always the man with a plan on how to get out of things, this time had to unwillingly accept he didn't have one. Gripping the stirring wheel tightly he narrowed his eyes on the road in front of him as his thoughts consumed him. He loved you, and now like a cruel twist of fate, it was you who was being taken from him, you who was not far from death.
Turning sharply around the corner onto Watery Lane, Tommy stopped the car jumping out, shouting for his Aunt as he opened the backseat door.
"Polly! Polly!" He bellowed as he carried you in his arms to the front door.
"Tommy, what...oh god, get in" she said as she opened the door covering her mouth only to see her Nephew standing their in the rain, panic in his eyes, holding your nearly lifeless body in his arms.
"Polly help..." he said in desperation as he hurried into the the house. Laying you down onto the large sofa he knelt down beside you, moving your hair away from your face as he gently pulled away the black ribbon that had loosened in your hair, placing it in his coat pocket.
" Tommy, Tommy... What happened?" she said turning his shoulder trying to get his attention.
" I don't know, I don't know!... she didn't look good last night. I only left for a few hours. Came back and she had a fever, she was burning up Pol" he said as he sat down next to you, his elbows on his knees as he buried his head into his hands. "What's happening Polly?" He said as he looked up to his Aunt. "I know you know how she got here, you know everything, you always have" he said standing up.
" Her fever is going down" she said, ignoring her Nephew as she gently stroked your cheek.
" Polly, would you tell me what's happening?" he asked again as he turned his aunt to look at him.
" She's dying Tommy"
"What...no, she's not dying...she just needs a doctor, Polly do something, you need to do something!" he demanded as he held onto his Aunts arm. Walking over to the kitchen she started boiling water, placing various herbs into a small tea cup.
" Polly? Polly?! Would you fucking stop and help her" he said as he abruptly walked over to his Aunt, fear running through his body.
" Tommy you need to understand something" she said pushing him away from her. "She's dying in this world Tommy, she needs to go back, back before it's too late " She said as she quickly turned back around to pour the now boiling hot water into the small porcelain cup.
" No" he said sharply shaking his head. Turning to face her Nephew, she slowly approached him.
"Tommy she will die" she said looking deep into his eyes, trying to reason with him.
" Polly I can't, I.. I love her"
" Oh Tommy.." she said as she gently placed a hand to his cheek." Love her enough to keep her alive?" she added as she let go. " She can't stay here any longer " Polly said as she approached you, kneeling down beside you with the warm tea cup in her hand.
Resting the cup on a small table beside the sofa she gently turned your hand around. " No blood was offered" she said quietly to herself. " The spell was not completed " she whispered softly into your ear as Tommy watched, trying to listen to what his Aunt was saying.
"Polly?" Tommy questioned. " What are you not telling me?" He said as he approached his Aunt.
Ignoring her nephew once again, Polly picked up the warm tea lifting your head as she let it slowly drip into your mouth. She waited patiently, watching you as the noise of the rain outside battered against the windows, darkness filling the room from the night sky. Turning your head you slowly opened your eyes.
" Y/N" Tommy said as he rushed to be beside you.
" Is that chamomile?" you said a weak smile forming on your lips as you tried to laugh. Sighing Tommy shook his head at your obliviousness to the situation.
" Y/N you're not good" he said as he pinched the bridge of his nose. Grabbing hold of your hand he huffed as he came to the reluctant conclusion of what he needed to do. " I'm gonna take you to get some help, alright?" he worded carefully knowing how you would react if he told you the truth.
" Ok" you nodded slowly, no strength to question him.
"Right. Ok..." he said standing up as he let go of your hand.
" Here" Polly said as she placed a small piece of paper in Tommy's hand. " Just like before, but she says these words" she said to him in a hushed voice. Nodding Tommy took the paper putting it in his coat pocket. Lifting you up Tommy placed you back in the car, turning to his Aunt one last time.
" There's no other way?"
"No" she said firmly, shaking her head. Without another word he opened the drivers door and got in. Turning to you he stroked your pale cheek, unaware of what was about to happen you softly smiled back placing your hand on his.
"I can walk Tommy" you said as he helped you out the car. You felt incredibly weak, but didn't want to worry Tommy anymore than he was. With all the strength you had in you, you held onto him as he led you up the dark path as the rain thundered down onto you both. Wrapping his coat around you he held you close as you pressed your head into his chest, closing your eyes, exhausted as Tommy guided you up to the unknown. Holding you tighter to his side Tommy kissed the side of your head knowing this was the last time he would feel your body next to his.
" Y/N" he said as he looked down at your frail state. " Hey" he added quietly as he turned you to look at him. "we are here" he told you as he stroked your arms up and down. It was so dark, you couldn't make anything out. Turning your head into the darkness your eyes slowly adjusted to the night sky, and that's when you saw it, Small Heath, out in the distance, street lights illuminating the small town that you had grown fond of. Quickly looking around you realised where you was.
" Tommy..." You said grabbing onto his arms out of panic and support. " What are we doing here?" Sighing, Tommy lent down gently pressing his lips to yours.
" You have go to back" he said as he softly brushed your cheek with his thumb.
" No no no, Tommy no! You're not doing this to me again!" you started to cry, trying to move away from him, only to stumble as he quickly reached out to hold you up.
" Look at you Y/N!"
" Tommy I'm not going , I just need to see a doctor, I'll be fine " you pleaded with him.
" It's not a doctor you need Y/N, you don't belong in this time, you have to go back" pushing him away from you, you held onto a large gravestone beside you.
"No Tommy, you can't force me i'm staying" you said as you tried to hold yourself up.
" Why won't your ever listen!...fuck, Y/N look at you. You can barely stand up, do you want to fucking die?" He said as he watched your desperate attempt to hold yourself up. Taking out his gold pocket watch and the small piece of paper, Tommy walked over to you opening your hand placing them in your palm.
" No!" You said throwing them on the ground beside you, tears streaming down your face.
"I can't do this" he said shaking his head at your stubbornness, as he slowly walked backwards, away from you.
"Tommy" you said reaching out for him, only for him to walk further away, knowing you wasn't able to reach him. "Tommy!" You begged again reaching your hand out as far as you could for him to take it.
"No Y/N" He replied turning around from you, as he started to make his way down the graveled path.
" You said you loved me, don't you love me?" Pausing Tommy brushed his hand down his face as he turned to you.
" No" he said bluntly with no emotion on his face.
" You're lying Tommy! Last night..." You said in shock, only for him to interrupt.
" What, hm? That I love you? Look I got caught up in the moment. What did you think, that we was going to live our lives together, happily ever after, still the naive stupid girl, eh?" He said knowing he was breaking your heart and his at the same time as the bitter words left his mouth. Tommy loved you, more than he had loved anyone and that's why he said it, to save your life. You had come spinning into his world, captivating him from day one, a woman full of determination and loyalty, never giving up on him, he needed you to live even if that meant saying the cruel words he knew would break your heart in two.
Standing there in disbelief anger at boiling point you screamed at him.
" I hate you Thomas Shelby!" Feeling the piercing stab of your words, Tommy took one last look at you, hoping to engrain your face into his memory as he turned his back to you.
"You are the biggest regret of my life, I wish i never helped you!" You continued as you saw his figure disappear into the darkness.
"Tommy!!" You called out once more into the night sky, tears burning your cold cheeks as you stood there in the rain.
Nearing the bottom of the path, Tommy listened to your distant calls for him echoing through the night sky, ignoring them, as his heart broke in two. Gripping onto the metal gate he watched as his knuckles turned white. Did he really want to leave you this like this, make you think that he didn't love you? Reaching into his pocket for a cigarette, he pulled out your black ribbon, then suddenly, the night air went deathly quiet making Tommy snap his head around to the graveled path behind him.
Turning your head down to the ground you let yourself collapse onto the grass, too weak to fight too weak to cry, you had given up. With shaking hands you wiped away your tears as you opened up the the small folded paper beside you. Taking Tommy's pocket watch you turned the time to 20h23 as you held the note in front of you. Choking back your emotions you said the words.
"With a broken heart I can not stay send me back from once I came.
My body feels tired I need my soul, I lay in your presence as the death bell tolls.
Will you take my hand once more, and guide me forward forever more?"
"Y/N!!...wait!!" Tommy shouted as he raced back up the hill as fast as he could.
"Y/N!!" He shouted once more as he neared the top only to stumble back as a large flash of light appeared in front of him, throwing him onto the ground. Disoriented Tommy gradually stood back up taking his peaked cap off.
"Y/N?" He said quietly walking over to where he had left you, as he frantically looked around the cemetery...but he was too late, you were gone. Falling to his knees, shoulders slouched, his chin resting on his chest, he pulled his peaked cap In front of him, covering his face, and then for the first time in a long time, Tommy began to cry, whispering the words he desperately wanted to say to you,
" I love you"

Journey to Ba Sing Se, Part 1: The Serpent's Pass
Alternate title: Gimme Appa Back, Take Two.
Bit of a mouthful for a title. I will definitely be watching this apparent two parter as two single episodes. There's commentary too, but that'll wait for a rewatch.
The previously on segment seems to point to Suki making an appearance. I didn't like her in her original episode, so this bodes ill.
That was incredibly ominous title card music.
Tumblr media
Explain this to someone who's never seen the show. Also, air mattress made of ice is a very efficient way to get hypothermia.
Sokka saying "no more distractions' actually summoned a distraction. He should look into harnessing that power.
Tumblr media
This brings up a point I've been thinking about. So the Earth Kingdom are smart enough to house refugee transportation underground, presumably because they've figured out that fire can't dig. So why didn't the entire population of the Earth Kingdom just become mole people at the first sign of fire nation attack?
Tumblr media
Get yourself Iroh's brand of chill. It's dearly bought in his case, but he has such a good way of looking at life. Also, half of Zuko's face is like an inch higher than the other half, and that haircut is not doing him any favours.
Oh god it's fuckboy. I'd take a million Sukis over fuckboy. Nice to see that the majority of his posse seems to have come to their senses and deserted him though.
CABBAGE GUY!!! HI CABBAGE GUY!!! I MISSED YOU!!!
She's got a point about destruction of the ecosystem, but unless there was woodworm in that cart, that platypus bear is guilty of needless destruction of cabbage guy's possessions.
Tumblr media
I loved this. The double punch of getting stymied by bureaucracy and undermined by cosplayers. There are some wacky ideas in this episode.
Aang! You may have lost Appa but you still have your glider! You don't need a passport or a ticket! Just fly to Ba Sing Se and make puppy dog eyes at the Earth King to make him send a boat to collect your friends!
You know that part in Harry Potter where Ron and Harry miss the train and decide the only logical course of action is to steal a flying car rather than, I don't know, wait for a responsible adult? I have a feeling this show is going to do the same type of thing with the whole Serpent's Pass. And I have to say, it's a brilliantly accurate way to do a plot that involves pre-teens, because they will often reach for the most out-there, illogical course of action no matter their intelligence. Curse those still-developing neural pathways. It also makes perfect sense in a kids' show, where the audience mostly wouldn't be caught dead turning down an adventure in favour of asking a responsible party (or a bureaucracy) for help.
"It is your pleasure" Get wrecked bitch!
I love seeing Toph weaponise that which previously kept her caged. I love to see Toph winning at life. Actually, I love to see Toph.
Tumblr media
Get yourself some friends who'll commit to the bit no questions asked like these guys.
Tumblr media
Get yourself a man who says your name the way Sokka says SUKI!!!:D Get yourself a girl who's so into you, she'll flirt with you in front of your entire found family.
Tumblr media
Momo knows what's up. He's a good judge of character.
It's rare for me to advocate for criminal behaviour on this show, but after that bureaucracy lady denied them any sort of solution for the refugees who got their tickets stolen, I was kind of hoping that Katara would just say 'fuck it' and steal one of those ferries. Or even smuggle people on to them. They've got two waterbenders; they could make ice boats to take them out to the ferry, or even across the whole lake presumably. Plot dictates they go face this serpent thing, because this appears to be a monster of the week episode, but boy did that ferry lady need smacking.
Tumblr media
Sokka's acting funky.
Is corniness one of the side effects of pregnancy?
No one in their right minds thinks that a pass called "the SERPENT'S Pass" in a universe like this one is named for its aesthetic qualities. Nice try at misdirection, but there will be a Sneky Boy in that water.
Aang's kind of right about the whole 'hope is a distraction' thing. Hope can too easily go from fuel to crutch.
It didn't occur to anyone to hide from the Fire Nation ship until it passed?
Toph's just saving everyone's bacon today huh?
Tumblr media
Am I sensing some post-Yue trauma?
Tumblr media
I would love to know the context behind Zuko knowing this very niche skill.
Jet has this fascinating ability to do objectively good deeds in such a sleezy way that you end up siding with the greedy oppressors. Weird.
Tumblr media
This makes so much sense. Aang zipped into the Avatar State so hard and fast in the desert that he probably scared himself, so now he's keeping a lid on things so hard that he's scaring everyone else with his newfound apathy. He's 12, and this episode he feels 12. This is probably the first time he's met emotions this big; of course he doesn't quite know what to do with them.
You know, Katara doesn't get paid enough to put up with this.
Tumblr media
Suki. Honey. I'm pretty sure there's a girl code about not flirting with a guy in front of his ex.
Tumblr media
Has Suki been filled in on the whole moon thing? Or is she just really confused right now?
You know, Smellerbee is just as unusual a name for a girl.
Jet talks the talk, but I don't believe he'll be able to walk the walk, despite second chances being one of the big themes of this show. Something about him still feels off.
Tumblr media
Hope you guys can swim!
Katara to the rescue again. I'm liking this new level-headed action-oriented Katara that appeared in The Desert, and I'm glad she wasn't just a one-episode character.
Tumblr media
Momo here fulfilling one of my childhood dreams. There was an aquarium room at my local zoo that had a tunnel you could walk through. Seven year old me would have sold my soul to be able to glorp through the glass and swim with the fishes like this.
Tumblr media
Once again, Toph saves the day. She's doing a lot of heavy lifting this episode.
Tumblr media
Big Sneky Boy has the colour palette of an exercise video from the 80s aerobics phase. Kind of detracts from the terror when he's wearing a leotard.
Number one sign of irresponsible pet ownership: sacrificing your lemur to Cthulhu.
Aang just bitchslapped Big Sneky Boy.
Why didn't they go with a big ice bridge in the first place?
Tumblr media
Yeah that's a problem. Could she make rock skate blades and attach them to her feet maybe? Would that help her see?
Tumblr media
Guys. Just. Send someone out there for her. The ice doesn't have handrails. Come on.
Suki can swim in like half a tonne of armour. I bet they have swimming with armour on drills on Kyoshi Island.
"You can go ahead and let me drown now." That is EXACTLY my sense of humour.
Tumblr media
Unlike goldfish, Big Sneky Boys can be flushed down the toilet.
"Now it's nothing but smooth sailing to Ba Sing Se." *Something immediately goes wrong* Has Sokka thought about harnessing his ability to speak things into existence?
Tragically, it makes perfect sense that Katara knows exactly how to deliver real human things.
"You know, as soon as I saw your scar I knew exactly who you were." Jet's little speech here got the biggest laugh out of me yet. I had to pause so I wouldn't miss dialogue. He's so deliciously wrong.
Tumblr media
This episode's Beat Up Sokka quota is fulfilled by a baby that has yet to be born.
"I want our daughter's name to be unique" TAKE COVER FOLKS! UNNECESSARY VOWELS INCOMING!
Didn't you guys just nearly get killled by a pass that told you to abandon Hope? Are you sure about that name?
Ok it isn't pregnancy that makes you corny. It's being a character in this episode. While I'm glad to see the back of Stoic Aang, this is getting to be a bit on the cheesy side.
Hell yeah Katara deserves that cry. And that hug.
Tumblr media
I'm watching this at my mom's house and I need to report that when Sokka said "You came along, to protect me?" my mom audibly went "awww!"
On a more serious note, this is exactly what Sokka needs after the Yue situation. A badass girlfriend who not only can and does take care of herself, but who also can and does take care of Sokka. Boy needs some pampering.
That is one hell of a wall.
That is one hell of a Big Sneky Boy.
"Appa's gonna have to wait" hit like a tonne of bricks. Another step in the journey to turn Aang from carefree monk to repsonsible Avatar. Appa having to wait is a genius story beat, but I want Appa NOW.
Final Thoughts
I had to check out my window for flying pigs before I started typing this section, because Zuko was consistently the most reasonable character in the B plot, perhaps in the whole episode. Apparently the 'make Zuko decent' project is finally seeing results. Have we turned over a new leaf? Dare I hope? It helps that he was juxtaposed with one of the single most batshit crazy characters from season one, but still.
I also need to issue a formal apology to Suki and all of her fans. I didn't like her in The Warriors of Kyoshi, and while I'm still not overly fond of that episode, I love what they've done with her character here. A good standalone character with her own strengths, goals, and responsibilities, and a good match for Sokka. I'd go so far as to say she's a better match for Sokka than Yue was, for all that both ladies have a startling amount in common: a position of responsibility, devotion to those who regard them as a leader, good taste in water tribe ass, etc.
I'm also going to hypothesise that Sokka is, in universe, the hottest member of the Gang. He's now had four girls expressing their interest: Suki, then Yue, then Azula's pokey pink friend whose name currently escapes me, and now Toph too! And she can't even see him, so his hotness is more than skin deep.
This episode was another stealth character episode in the style of The Blue Spirit. You think it's an action episode but it's actually character work with some fights for spice. It's got: -payoff for Katara's new-found levelheadedness -the other side of the coin on Aang's desert freakout -Toph doing just ALL the heavy lifting in the absence of Appa (seriously, teach her to fly and you won't need Appa as anything but a friendly couch) -Toph also getting an incredibly logical weakness that she learns she can rely on her friends to surmount -Sokka getting some Yue resolution from a frankly ironic source -Zuko getting what I'm sure is going to turn into a dark mirror
Speaking of fuckboy, there was nothing in this episode that hinted that Jet's turn to good was anything but genuine, but something about him still really makes my teeth itch. So I'm calling it now: based not on any evidence, but entirely on my own feelings, Jet's turn to good isn't going to stick.
There was some corny stuff in this episode, but it's a kids' show. It gets way more allowance for corny than an adult show does. I'll let it slide, so long as it doesn't become a habit.
This was part one of a two part episode, but it certainly didn't feel that way. There was the Big Metal Sneky Boy plot hook at the very end, but other than that it was a self-contained story.
I had predicted last episode that the rest of season two would be spent getting to Ba Sing Se, and they did it in one episode. So I'd like to announce my retirement from predicting the future because I am not good at it. I have no idea where we're going beyond next episode. I guess I'll have fun finding out!

Series Masterlist
--
You lay naked under the sheet, your head on Bucky’s chest, his right arm wrapped around you drawing shapes on your back with his fingertips, and his left hand playing with your right hand. He kisses the top of your head softly as you sigh in content. You've never felt so happy in your life. You were sure that you more than liked Bucky at this point, but you still didn’t want to do anything more until you spoke with Nat. You already went too far, but right now you didn't care.
“That was amazing,” you say softly with a smile on your face.
You hear and feel Bucky’s chuckle, “Yeah, it was. Best I've ever had,” He says kissing your forehead softly when you looked up at him.
You laugh, “I highly doubt that,” you say looking down at your hand in his.
Bucky lets go of your hand and cups your face so he can look into your eyes. “Really baby. I mean it,” he says before kissing you again on the forehead, nose, and then lips.
You run your hand through his hair, staring into his beautiful eyes before snuggling into the crook of his neck. Suddenly your eyes start feeling very heavy. Before you knew it, you fall into a deep sleep in Bucky’s arms.
You're awoken by the alarm on his phone. Bucky groans as he reaches on the night stand and turns it off. He then wraps his arms around you and nuzzles his nose into your hair placing soft kisses on your head. You blink several times, trying to get your eyes to stay open.
You yawn, “We should get going if we want to spend some time with Nat today,” you say. Suddenly you sit up in a panic.
“Oh my god, what're we gonna to tell Nat?” you shout in worry.
Bucky sits up slowly and rubs your naked back. “We'll talk to her. I know she'll understand. Trust me,” he says, kissing your shoulder.
You shake your head and cover your face, “I can’t believe I just slept with my roommates boyfriend!”
“Well technically I'm her ex-boyfriend,” Bucky says, grabbing your face to look at him. “Please don’t over think this. I know she'll be ok with this. If you wanna wait until further down the line when we're officially together then that's ok too,” he says.
You can’t help but smile, “You plan on datin' me when we get back to New York?” you ask.
He laughs and gives you a peck. “Oh most def'nitly! Though we should probably go a little slower than last night,” he says with a laugh, kissing your lips again. He feels addicted to your lips.
You both finally get up and go in search of clothes. You grab your phone to text Nat, to inform her that you'll be in Seattle in a few short hours, but your phone won’t turn on.
“Damn! My phone's dead, and I wanted to text Nat to let her know we'll be in Seattle soon.”
Bucky threw his phone over to you. “Use mine. I’m gonna use the bathroom and change,” he said as he walks into the bathroom and closes the door.
You look down at his phone and realize he has a text message open to Sam. You want to quickly close it to open a new text, but his text and Sam's response catches your eye:
Bucky: You were right, I owe you $50.
Sam: Man I knew it! How far did you get?
Tears rush to your eyes. He made a bet on getting with you?! What the fuck kind of bullshit is that? Everything he said was a lie! Why? Was it to get back at you for the misunderstanding a year ago! You feel the tears blur your vision, but quickly wipe them away. You want to walk into that bathroom and punch him in the face, but decide to just finish the trip, go home, and never see him again!
You quickly sent Nat the text telling her you will both see her in a few hours and that your phone is dead, but you will charge it in the car. As you place Bucky’s phone on the nightstand, he comes out of the bathroom, giving you a warm smile. You look down at your hands for a moment, before walking back over to your side of the bed to finish packing your stuff.
“We should get going,” you say sternly.
Bucky furrows his brow at you, “You okay?” he asks.
You look at him, with no emotion on your face. “I’m fine, can we just go please?” you say, putting your duffle bag on your shoulder.
You walk out of the room and head for the elevator, with Bucky’s hand on your lower back. You shrug away from him as you get into the elevator.
“What’s wrong?” he asks concerned.
You ignore him, keeping your eyes on the doors of the elevator. Bucky starts to panic internally. Were you regretting last night? Did you blame him for what happened? Is this just your guilt? He decides to leave you alone for awhile to sort out your feelings, but he can’t help but be hurt with the way you're treating him.
You're an hour outside of Seattle, and you haven’t said two words to Bucky since the hotel. Once your phone was charged, you started looking up flights back home. Originally you were going to stay in Seattle a few days, but right now, you don’t want to be anywhere near Bucky Barnes.
The earliest flight is 1 am this evening, which you quickly purchase. You know Nat'll be disappointed, but you'll just plan a solo trip out to see her another time. You feel Bucky glancing at you every few minutes, but you refuse to look at him. You just keep your eyes on your phone, or look out the window.
Bucky continues to have an internal war with himself. Should he confront you about the way you are acting? Did you hate him for last night? He really didn’t plan on sleeping with you, he just wanted to hold you again. But he definitely doesn't regret it, in fact he felt pretty good about it, until now. He hates that you're acting this way now. It makes him feel guilty and bad.
When he can’t take the silence anymore, Bucky clears his throat, “Are you sure you're alright? You’ve been acting weird since the hotel,” he says carefully.
You don’t say anything, don’t even look at him. Bucky’s heart starts to race, and panic sets in. You're definitely pissed at him.
“Okay, did I do something to upset you? If this is about last night, I’m sorry. We can tell Nat, and I'll take the full blame,” he says.
You scoff, but still say nothing. Bucky starts getting irritated and pulls over to the side of the road. When he puts the car in park he turns his body to look at you.
“Y/N, please tell me what is wrong!” he begs.
You have your arms crossed over your chest and you keep staring in front of you. “I don’t understand what happened. We were great this morning! We had an unbelievable night that I never want to forget, and now you're freezing me out. Are you regretting last night?” he says, panic and frustration evident in his voice.
Still you say nothing, but look down. Do you tell him what you saw on his phone? Should you give him a chance to explain? No! Why hear another excuse! You look at him for a moment then look back in front of you. “Please just get us to Seattle,” you say, emotionless.
Bucky continues to look at you with pleading eyes. He reaches for your hand, but you flinch away. His heart breaks. “You regret last night. I get it… I… I thought we were on the same page after our talk this morning, but I guess… I guess I was wrong,” he says sadly. Your heart breaks slightly at the sound of his voice, but you stand firm.
Bucky turns back forward and pulls back onto the highway. You hide the tear that falls from your face, but when you glance at Bucky again and see a tear fall down his. You want to reach up and wipe it away and kiss him, but all you keep thinking about is that damn text message. This is all part of his damn plan! He's a master manipulator and your done falling for his bullshit. You know once you got back to New York, he'd probably ditch you anyway.
Bucky decides to just give up on trying to talk to you, for now. He feels miserable. This hurts worse than breaking up with Nat, which says a whole lot on that relationship. He shakes his thoughts out of his head. Once they get to Seattle, he will have a few days to corner you and get you to talk about this. You have to tell him how you feel, you have to.
Bucky pulls up in front of Natasha’s apartment building. Natasha is there waiting, since you texted her telling her you guys entered the city. You can’t help the huge smile on your face as you get out of the car. You run up to Nat and you both embrace!
“I know it’s only been a week, but I’ve missed you!” you say into her shoulder.
She laughs, “I’ve missed you too!” she says.
She releases you and runs toward Bucky, giving him a big hug as well. Bucky keeps his eyes on you, and you can’t help but notice the sadness in them. When they release, she grabs both your hands and leads you up into her apartment.
“With my new job, I can afford a place on my own! I mean it’s nice to have my own space, but I miss having someone to hang out with all the time,” she says with a light laugh.
You smile at her as you look around the small one bedroom apartment. You walk into the living room and put your duffle bag down, and sit on the couch.
“Y/N the couch opens up into a full size bed and is comfortable, so you should have no problem sleeping there, and Bucky you can stay with me in my room,” she says looking between the two of you.
You and Bucky meet each others gazes for moment before you look back at Nat with a smile.
“I have the whole few days planned for us! You're both in for a treat! Tonight we'll go to a great restaurant downtown, and then this club for drinks and dancing. Tomorrow I found this cute brunch place we can try, and then–”
“Oh, uh, actually Nat, I'm going to head home tonight,” you say softly.
Nat looks from you to Bucky, who is staring at you in disbelief. You’re leaving tonight?! “Why? I thought you were going to spend a few days,” Nat says concerned.
You look at her and can’t help the tears that are coming to your eyes. “I-I know, but I got an email from work that they need me to come back sooner. I'll just have to plan another trip out here to party with you, alone,” you say.
“Bullshit!” Bucky says. You and Nat both snap your heads to him. “That's complete and utter bullshit and you know it!” he says angrily.
Nat puts her hands on her hips. “Ok, what's going on?” she says to both of you. You keep your head down, staring at your hands. You hear Bucky sigh.
“Look Nat, Y/N and I slept together last night. She's regretting it now and is back to hating my guts. I don’t know why though, because we were fine when we woke up this morning. But I think that's why she's leaving tonight. She wants away from me,” he says.
You glare up at him, before you look guiltily at Nat. She looks surprised, but you're shocked to not see betrayal in her facial expression.
“I’ll let you guys talk. I'm going to head down the street to that liquor store I saw,” Bucky says before leaving the apartment.
You look back down at your hands, not wanting to look Nat in the eye. Yes, you felt guilty about what happened with Bucky, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Nat sits back down on the couch and looks at you. “Y/N?” she says quietly.
You feel the tears sliding down your face and you choke on a sob. “I-I’m so sorry Nat. I'm sorry I slept with Bucky. I know you guys are technically not together, but I shouldn't have done it. And I guess the joke was on me because….” you can’t continue through your tears.
Nat slides closer to you and hugs you for a moment. You can’t help but sob into her shoulder. She rubs your back for a moment, which makes your feel worse. Why is she comforting you? You pull back and look at her, “Nat, I slept with your boyfriend, you should be angry at me, not comforting me!” you say.
Nat smiles softly at you and again wipes some of your tears. “Y/N, why do you think I had you both come out here together?” she asks.
You sniff and shrugging your shoulders. “Because you were tired of our fighting? I don’t know,” you say.
She nods, “Yea, I've been tired of your fighting for a long time, but it was because I knew you both had secret feelings for each other. There's no reason you both shouldn't see if something could come out of this,” she says. You look at her like she has 5 heads.
“Listen, if I was still home, I’m sure Bucky and I would have stayed together for a while longer, but he's not my forever. I know that and he knows that. I enjoyed my relationship with him, and, yeah, I'll miss him and his amazing body, but I’m not it for him,” she says.
“So because you know he isn’t it for you, you wanted to give him to me?” you ask confused.
She laughs, “Not exactly. After you told me how you were attracted to him that first night at the bar, I knew that you still had feelings for him. I mean he was an asshole to you, but I saw it in your face, and I saw it in his too. When he wasn’t looking at me… he was looking at you.”
You shake your head, not wanting to believe it. She sighs, “He told me about what Sam told him at the bar about you the other day after you talked to him about it. Of course I knew the truth and told him that, but that’s when I realized I was right. He was always meant to get with you that night.”
You laugh, “Nat, seriously? You/re throwing fate into this? You know that's bullshit.”
She shakes her head. “Is it?”
You shake your head again. You're so confused, but glad Nat isn’t mad at you. She looks at you with concern, “So tell me the truth. Why are you really leaving early, because Bucky's right. Your excuse is complete and utter bullshit. Is it because you regret sleeping with him?” she asks.
You shake your head. “No, it’s not that. Th-this morning when I realized my phone was dead, he let me use his to text you. When I looked down I saw a test he had with Sam. He... he told Sam he owed him 50 bucks and Sam wanted to know how far he got,” you say, tears falling from your face again.
“He fucking played me! He lied to us both, because he doesn’t have feelings for me, Nat! He made a stupid bet that I would hook up with him!” you say.
Nat says nothing but holds you while you cry. She kept whispering it’s okay over and over. You pull back and wipe your eyes. You are so tired of crying because of Bucky Barnes. You just want to go back to New York and never see him again.
Bucky is walking back to the apartment with a small bottle of whiskey in his hands. He occasionally takes a drink from it, the burn feeling good as it goes down his throat. He hopes to God that your talk with Nat went well and that she'll talk you into staying. How was he supposed to talk to you about both your feelings if you're not here?
Just then his phone buzzes. He looks and sees it’s a text from Nat:
We need to talk. Now.

meet me at midnight
December 31st, 1983
"Sweet dreams are made of this, who am I to disagree?"
You were inclined to, that's for sure.
Annie Lennox's voice booms throughout the house as you tuck yourself further into the corner you've managed to claim, a lukewarm cup of punch in hand. It feels like the entire student body of Hawkins High is here at Tina's party, bodies jostling each other on the makeshift dance floor and spilling down the hallway like an overflowing sink, even trickling outside onto the deck to smoke despite the frosty air.
You shift your weight from one heeled boot to the other and choke down a sip of your drink, wincing at the alcohol burning its way down your throat. Leave it to some thickheaded jock to make a punch that's almost entirely rum, you think as you abandon the solo cup on the nearest shelf and pull your sweater sleeve down to check the time.
It's not nearly as late as you'd hoped, the glowing green numbers reading ten-thirty, and you drop your arm with a sigh. An hour and a half before midnight and an hour and a half way too long in your opinion.
"Having fun?" Nancy's face is flushed as she squeezes her way through the dancing crowd to you, dragging Steve by the hand.
Absolutely not.
"Oh, totally!" Your smile feels so forced you're sure she'll notice and call you out but it never comes, both to your relief and disappointment; once upon a time you'd been thick as thieves, the best of friends just like your little brother and hers, before she'd ditched you for Barb and left you behind in the dust.
Barb, whose body lies in another dimension, frozen forever at sixteen.
Yeah, you're still processing that last part and you were there, standing beside Dustin as Eleven confirmed Nancy's worst fear, heart breaking for your former best friend as she cried into Jonathan's arms.
(Later that night, when everything was said and done and you were safe in bed with your little brother sleeping soundly across the hall was when you cried for Barb, too, a girl who was kind and innocent and undeserving of her terrible fate.)
Your relationship's been on the mend ever since but as much as it hurts to admit, you'll never be as close as you once were and Nancy's inability -or unwillingness, you think bitterly- to pick up on your unhappiness is only further proof.
"Wanna come dance with us?" She asks, oblivious, and you shake your head, crossing your arms to keep her from grabbing your hand because as bored as you are, being a third wheel would be even worse. You already feel bad for crashing their date by tagging along for the drive here, even though they both insisted on giving you a ride.
"Trust me, that wouldn't be pretty. Dusty says I dance like a school chaperone."
Steve bursts out laughing at that and it makes your heart do a little flip in your chest, even as Nancy fondly shakes her head. "Come on, you're not that bad."
"Oh no, I am." You wrap your arms tighter around yourself as someone opens the front door and lets in a freezing blast of air. "Seriously, I'm good. I think I'm gonna go grab some snacks."
"Try the snickerdoodles! I ate, like ten of them." Steve admits that last part pretty sheepishly and the way Nancy stares up at him with the most adoring look in her eyes makes you feel like you're intruding on something private.
You offer an awkward smile in thanks and with a tiny wave from Nancy, they melt back into the mess of bodies dancing along to Cyndi Lauper, leaving you alone once again.
For no less than the fifth time tonight, you wish Robin was here, not halfway across the state visiting her grandparents. While you might've lost Nancy as your best friend in middle school, you gained another: Robin had also been dropped by Barb and so it was only fitting that the two of you became fast friends, not just acquaintances that sat beside each other in the band's trumpet section.
(You miss Nancy honestly, you really do, but sometimes you think being ditched was one of the best things that's ever happened. You and Robin just click, two peas in a pod, and to you, she feels like the sister you always wish Nancy would've been.)
If Robin was here, she would've already made some quip about Steve and his coiffed hair, or Carol and the permanent expression on her face that made her look like she smelled something bad, or Jason and his attempts to impress Chrissy with his awful dance moves, and it would've had you doubled over in laughter.
She wouldn't let you wallow in the corner by yourself, an outsider looking in, both unwilling and unable to throw caution to the wind and just let go. But she's not here, so wallowing it is.
Being kind to yourself has never been your strong suit.
As if the universe is listening, mocking, a gap in the crowd grows just enough to give you a perfect view of Steve and Nancy swaying in each other's arms and you hate the bitter taste that suddenly floods your mouth.
You have no right to be jealous.
You've never admitted your little crush on Steve to yourself, let alone Nancy: how was she supposed to know? You're not even sure if it's all about him in the first place because sure, you think he's cute -you always have- but you get the same gnawing feeling watching Bradley spin Tina around the room in a playful waltz or Nate stealing a kiss from Georgina under the mistletoe still hanging in the doorway and you can barely tolerate either of those idiots.
It's all so terribly confusing.
Steve twirls Nancy under his arm and then dips her low to the ground, her delighted laughter reaching your ears even over the pounding music and something ugly blooms in your chest. You make your escape before you can do something stupid like cry, weaving your way across the living room and down the hall toward the kitchen with your head down.
…Which is precisely how you end up head butting one of your classmates directly in the chest when you turn the corner.
They give a soft 'oof' of surprise and you're absolutely mortified when you realize it's a boy, not just from the tone of his voice but from the toes of his white Reeboks bumping into your boots.
The same shoes you've heard keeping time in band every day since seventh grade, tapping along to the beat on the riser behind you with the rest of the saxophone players. The same shoes you see at the desk in front of you in third period English, still tapping along to the music that's always running through his mind, accompanied by the furious scribbling of a pencil across paper as he jots down lyrics for a new song.
You wince and keep your head down, hoping he'll just act like nothing happened and go on his merry way and just when you're about to think you're in the clear-
"Ow. You have a hard head, Henderson."
Shit, you think. Of course you had to literally run into the one person you feel like you can't speak two words to without making a complete fool of yourself; something about Eddie just makes you flustered beyond belief and you really wish you knew why 'cause it's, to put it frankly, annoying.
Really fucking annoying.
"Shit." You say out loud, quickly looking up to meet his big brown eyes before glancing away and staring at the zombie adorning the front of his Iron Maiden shirt instead. "Sorry, wasn't paying attention."
"No shit, Sherlock." He teases but there's no trace of malice in his voice, just amusement, even as his ringed hand comes into view and rubs the spot where your forehead crashed into his chest. "You okay?"
Embarrassment burns your face and you cross your arms defensively, firing back with a weak insult you're sure he can see right through 'cause if there's one thing you're good at, it's looking like an idiot all day, every day.
"I'm fine. You're not looking very festive, Munson."
He snorts in laughter and you finally gather the courage to meet his eyes again, only to find him already looking down at you with something behind his gaze that you can't quite figure out.
"I think you're festive enough for the both of us." He gestures to your deep navy sweater dotted with bursts of silver thread that give the illusion of stars. "You look really pretty, by the way."
Your brain short circuits.
Pretty? You're wearing your mom's sweater and Eddie thinks you look pretty?
You're too busy trying to get your mouth to work as the silence stretches on -you'll take a 'huh?' at this point, or maybe even an unintelligible squeak, just say something, you moron- to notice the pink blooming high in his cheeks and the way he speaks in a rush, the words all jumbling together so fast it's hard for your frazzled mind to understand what he's saying.
"-your help, so keep watch, okay?"
Keep watch?
He turns and strides into the kitchen without another word and you end up following a few seconds later, after you've finally recovered enough to get your legs working, at least.
You find him standing by the big bowl of punch, rummaging around the array of bottles littering the island, every so often picking one up to inspect before putting it back in its place with a shake of his head. To your surprise, it's not more alcohol he finally picks up but a two-liter of Sprite and at last you get your mouth to work as you blurt out, "What the hell are you doing?"
"Fixing this shitty ass punch." He's not even phased by your sudden question, save for the quick smile he sends your way as he pours the entire bottle in. "Have you tried it? Jesus, Jan would be disgusted."
You cross your arms and lean your hip against the counter, keeping an eye on the door just like he'd asked. "I have, unfortunately. Who's Jan?"
"Bartender at the Hideout." Eddie throws a reply over his shoulder as he digs around in the fridge, yelling triumphantly when he finds whatever he's looking for. It turns out to be a can of pineapple juice and he dumps that in, too, turning the blue punch a pretty shade of green. "My band plays there on-"
"-Tuesdays, I know." You interrupt without thinking and rush to explain yourself, almost tripping over your words when he turns his curious gaze on you.
"Um, there's this all-girl band Robin loves, Blush. We go see them sometimes and end up staying to watch you guys, too, because you're really good-" You pause at the smile slowly growing wider on his face and shake your head. "-but you already knew that, didn't you?"
He shrugs, still grinning like the Cheshire Cat as he stirs some cherries into the punch, then dishes out two cups and pushes one across the island to you.
"Yeah, I see you there a lot. You're kind of hard to miss when the rest of the audience is just five old drunk dudes."
Your laugh rings in the cavernous kitchen as you push off the counter to grab your drink, tapping it against his when he holds it out toward you.
"Cheers."
You're not sure what to expect when you take that tentative first sip but it's definitely not something sweet and smooth with just the right amount of fizz, the burn of the rum still present but not as overpowering as it was before.
"Okay, so I don't know how you managed to make this shit taste good but you did."
Eddie sweeps into a low bow and you hide a smile behind your cup at his theatrics. "Thank you, thank you. I do accept tips, you know, and all proceeds go directly to Jan so she can buy herself a car."
You smile wider and take another sip. "I'd love to donate but I left my purse at home, I'm afraid."
He clicks his tongue in mock disappointment before leaning forward across the island and waving you closer, dropping his voice to such a low whisper you would've had to move in anyway to even hear him.
"How about I make you a deal, Henderson? Come watch us next Tuesday, slip Jan a twenty, and I'll play a song -any song- just for you."
"Ooh, tempting." You whisper back just as quietly, tapping a finger against your chin even as a weird feeling takes hold in your stomach at his offer. "Any song I want? How about-"
"Hold on, I take that back. Any song but 'September.'"
Your jaw drops. "How'd you know-"
"Because I hear you humming it every day in band, that's how."
"Oh." How the hell does he know you hum that song when half the time you don't even realize you're doing it? You've annoyed Dustin enough to know it's true, after he told you in no uncertain words. "How about I make you a deal? I give Jan thirty dollars and Corroded Coffin covers Earth, Wind & Fire."
He stares at you for a beat longer before slowly breaking out into a smile. "…I'll think about it."
You've always know he has a pretty smile, catching glimpses of it across the cafeteria from where you sat with Robin and the rest of the marching band or in crowded hallways as you rushed to make it to your locker in between classes, but having its full force directed right at you knocks the very breath right out of your lungs.
"it's not a no, so…works for me." You say, propping your chin in one hand and swirling your cup in the other, watching the opaque green liquid spin around like the center of a hurricane. "Why'd you have me guard the door, anyway? I wouldn't call making this sludge drinkable very deviant of you."
"Please," Eddie scoffs, mirroring you exactly. "'Resident metalhead spotted adding mixers to the jungle juice?' I can't trash my reputation like that."
"No, never." You huff a laugh under your breath. "You'd be ruined."
He laughs, too, and you're not sure when it became so warm in here but it's making you want to roll your sweater sleeves up to your elbows.
"See! I knew you'd have my back, Henderson."
The more you think about it, the more you realize you always have. Every time the rumor mill paints him in a bad light, you're there to put it all to rest with nothing more than a perfectly directed scowl because you like Dio, too and wear black nail polish and occasionally play DnD with Dustin and his friends when they need a sub and no one's ever accused you of worshiping Satan for fuck's sake.
If any of them would bother to look deeper than the surface, they'll see what you do, that he's kind and sweet and caring and you know because you've seen him prove it with your own eyes: driving the rest of the Hellfire Club home if they didn't have rides, sticking up for the freshmen when the seniors decide to be cruel, and even now, witnessing him first hand try to raise money for a coworker to buy a car (granted that method might be called borderline manipulation but still, at least it's for a good cause).
"'Course I do." It's both too simple a statement and more than you ever wanted to admit and the way he's staring at you feels different, somehow, different and yet not unwelcome as you stare right back…
(Has he always had that dusting of freckles across his nose?)
…which is why you end up putting your foot in your mouth without even realizing it. "That's what friends are for, right?"
"Right, yeah."
Something flickers behind his brown eyes but it's gone before you can put your finger on it and he's smiling that smile again, pointed canines on full display as he hastily nods and straightens, downing the rest of his drink in one go.
"Do you have the time?" He sheepishly holds up his bare wrist. "Forgot my watch."
"Oh, sure." The sudden change of subject nearly gives you whiplash as you push your sleeve up to check. "Almost eleven fifteen."
"No time to lose, let's go." He grabs a napkin and swipes a few cookies from the counter, tucking them away into the pocket of his leather jacket.
"Go where?"
"You'll see." Eddie nods his head toward the doorway and holds out a hand, silver rings catching the harsh kitchen lights. "C'mon, you trust me?"
"Against my better judgement." You tease and his laugh is downright devilish when you take his hand anyway, letting him lead you out into the hall.
You're not prepared for the warmth of his palm or the rough, calloused touch of his fingers or how your hand looks so small in his as he expertly weaves through your classmates milling about until you reach the bottom of the stairs, pausing just long enough to make sure the coast is clear before dashing up to the second floor.
"Are we even allowed up here?" You whisper and while the little conspiratorial grin on his face doesn't do much to ease your mind, the quick squeeze he gives your hand somehow does.
"Nope!" He leads you down the dark hallway with practiced ease, opening the last door on the left before pulling you inside and softly shutting it behind you both.
"I feel like a delinquent." Your quiet voice echoes in the large room, clearly Tina's from the Hawkins High cheer uniform hanging on the closet door and the over abundance of pink, and he snickers as he drops your hand to grab a blanket draped over the desk chair.
"Live a little, Henderson!" He opens another door, this one leading out onto a moonlit balcony -Jesus, you knew Tina's family was rich but come on- and holds it for you as you step outside. It's just beginning to snow, specks of white drifting down silently and forming a barely there dusting on the railing and you hold out your hand to catch one, watching as the tiny flake instantly disappears from the heat of your palm.
"C'mon, I'll give you a boost." Eddie says, tossing the blanket up onto the section of roof that's just a bit lower than the others.
"Don't tell me you shoot webs from your wrists." You joke, warily eyeing the spot even as you step forward and stand in front of him, grabbing the edge with both hands.
"Nah, I couldn't handle the responsibility of being Spider-Man." He moves closer and hovers his hands over your sides. "Still trust me?"
You nod.
"Can I touch you?" His voice is a low whisper in your ear and when a shiver runs down your spine, you blame it on the sudden gust of wind, nothing more.
You nod again.
His hands are big and oh so warm as he places them on your waist and before you know it, you're lifted onto the roof without so much as a warning, the rough shingles cold against your knees even through the thick denim of your jeans.
Holy shit, he's strong.
You don't even get the chance to offer your hand as he pulls himself up with an almost casual grace and spreads the blanket out, each step he takes so confident and sure, like he's done it time and time again.
"So, you sure know your way around Tina Williamson's roof." You carefully crawl closer and take a seat beside him, close enough that the length of your body is pressed right up against his to ward off the cold.
To be fair, you're also the slightest bit terrified of somehow falling right off the edge and it's like he reads your mind when he shuffles even closer and rests his arm along the curve of your back, not quite touching but near enough that you just know he'll catch you.
"Found out I could climb up here two years ago and-" He explains, pointing off somewhere beyond the back yard in the vague direction of town. "-it's got a killer view of the fireworks."
"It's peaceful." The sounds of the festivities have faded to nothing more than a faint thumping of bass and the occasional burst of laughter floating up from the smokers on the back deck. "So for the last two years, every party Tina's thrown, you've just been hiding up here?"
"More like escaping." Eddie shrugs and stares ahead at the snow-covered trees. "I don't even want to come to these things and I'm only invited 'cause I deal. Once these rich kids get their stuff and I get paid…no one really cares where I go so I just do what I want."
You care.
"All by yourself?"
He nudges you with his shoulder and when you turn to face him, that same look from earlier is behind his eyes, the one from the hallway and the kitchen that you still can't quite figure out. "You're the only person I've ever brought up here."
"Really?"
It's cold, the snow starting to fall a little bit heaver now, and yet you're so, so warm under his gaze as he nods, the corners of his mouth turned up ever so slightly in the softest smile you've ever seen from him.
It's like hot chocolate on a snowy day or a cozy blanket on a cold night, safe and warm and feeling more than a little like home.
"I'm trusting you with this, Henderson. Don't abuse your power."
You smile and duck your head, pulling your sweater sleeves down further over your cold fingers. "Wouldn't dream of it, Munson."
You'd nearly forgotten all about the cookies hidden in his jacket pocket until he nudges your arm and hands you two, one of his own hanging out of his mouth and you realize they're the snickerdoodles Steve had told you to try.
For the first time, the thought of him doesn't make your stomach twist or your chest hurt. Honestly? You don't really feel anything in particular, other than the fact that he has damn good taste in desserts as you take a bite of your cookie, perfectly baked and covered in just the right amount of cinnamon and sugar.
No wonder he ate ten of them.
You finish eating in silence but you don't feel the need to fill it with anything other than the sound of your breathing; Eddie doesn't either and for who knows how long you sit side by side, watching tiny snowflakes lazily fall from the sky. They dot his dark hair with spots of white and a laugh slips from your mouth before you can stop it.
"What?" He turns your way and you just shake your head as you reach over and brush some flakes from the ends of his curls.
"The snow in your hair, it kinda looks like powdered sugar."
"Oh, so you think I'm sweet?" He waggles his eyebrows and you laugh so hard you have to lean on his shoulder to keep from falling over. The arm he has resting behind you's now fully pressed against your back and it feels like a live wire running along your spine.
"I never said that!"
"But you implied it." Your breath catches as he gently brushes some snow from your hair as well, the warm, calloused pads of his fingers glancing along your face. "And good thing 'cause I think you're sweet, too."
You suddenly get the feeling you've missed something very very important as you scoot away just far enough to turn and face Eddie fully. Down below, your classmates flood out onto the back deck to wait for the fireworks as the new year approaches but you could care less, all of your focus right in front of you on big brown eyes and tiny freckles and a beautifully devastating smile.
"Me?" You speak quietly into the cold air, the question forming swirling white wisps that float above your heads for a fleeting second before disappearing into the night.
You could elaborate but you don't have to because you know he knows exactly what you mean as his hand hovers in the air between you for a long moment before he finally reaches forward and tucks a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
"I thought I was being obvious." He says, a red hue coloring his cheeks that you know now is definitely not from the cold.
"Why?"
"Why did I think I was being obvious? Henderson, I'm gonna play Earth, Wind & Fire for you!"
"No, why do you…why me?"
It makes him pause, a gentle furrow to his brow, and the way he says your name so softly makes your heart skip a beat.
"Because you're you."
A minute to midnight is a pretty fucking weird time to have an epiphany but you've never had good timing.
"Oh."
It's like something just clicks, the last piece of the puzzle you didn't even know you were trying to solve slotting into place and it all makes such perfect sense you're not sure how you didn't see it before.
"I know you're into Harrington," Eddie says hastily, eyes darting away from yours for just a second before they come right back, wide and honest in the dark. "And I get it if you never want to speak to me again 'cause I just made things super weird but-"
"I'm not into Steve."
You don't know how he makes confusion look so cute but he does, eyebrows knit together and making a little wrinkle in his forehead that's just visible under his bangs. "You're not?"
"I thought I was but…" You trail off as more and more people flood outside, their voices loud and full of excitement as the countdown begins. "Turns out I'm falling for someone else and I finally figured out who."
"Ten, nine, eight."
You scoot closer, sitting on your knees so your face is level with his when you reach out to brush some more snow from his hair, letting your fingers graze over his cheek like the ghost of a kiss. "Sorry it took me so long to catch up."
"Seven, six, five."
"Oh. It's okay." He sputters, a brilliant red flush slowly crawling up his neck like ivy. "I mean, I've liked you for a while now, ever since you joined the band when I was in eighth grade-"
"Four."
"-and you sat in front of me with your trumpet, wearing a Judas Priest shirt and I-"
"Eddie?" You interrupt because as much as you want to hear the rest of his story, you've got a more important thing on your mind.
"Three."
"Yeah?"
"Two."
"Please stop talking."
His jaw snaps shut almost comically and he watches with those wide eyes of his as you slowly cup his face in your hands.
"One."
The clock strikes midnight. The first firework shoots off from downtown and explodes in a brilliant flash of shimmering gold in the inky black sky. And you lean forward and kiss Eddie Munson.
The fireworks overhead are nothing compared to the ones you feel when he responds to your kiss with one of his own, his lips soft and sure under yours as he wraps an arm around your waist to pull you closer.
He tastes like cinnamon sugar, spicy and sweet, and you can't get enough of him, of his warmth and his fingers sliding into your hair and the noise he makes low in his throat when you part your lips under his.
Kissing him is addicting, intoxicating. It's all you've ever wanted.
He's all you ever wanted.
You were just too blind to see it.
He's all you can see now when you finally part, all swollen lips and flushed cheeks and a smile that would've taken your breath if you had any left to give. The fireworks are long over but you don't even care that you missed the whole show as you lean forward to press your forehead against his.
"So, eighth grade, huh?" You ask and Eddie nods, rolling a strand of your hair between his thumb and pointer finger.
"You were humming 'Highway to Hell' and had holes in your jeans. And when I heard you talking about learning to play DnD for your little brother? That was it for me."
"I was nervous when I first joined band 'cause I had trouble staying on beat. I was so scared they were gonna kick me out." You say and when a snowflake lands on his cheek, you wipe it away with your thumb. "But I heard you tapping your foot behind me and you helped me keep time. Without you, I don't even know if I'd still be playing."
He tucks your hair behind your ear before taking your cold hands in his and bringing them to his mouth to kiss your knuckles, his touch so soft and sweet it makes your head spin.
"Your hands are freezing."
"I don't want to go home yet."
You could stay like this forever with him and when he leans forward to press his lips to yours, you know he feels the same.
"Where to then?"
He's never looked more beautiful to you, his pretty brown eyes blown wide and full of affection and reflecting the shimmer of the stars overhead and a slow smile creeps onto your lips when you weave your fingers between his.
"Surprise me. I'm all yours."
An adorable pink blush sweeps across his nose as he pulls you in for another kiss and you know without a doubt you're speaking the truth.
You know you mean every word.

WE WANT MORE OF SPIDER-BARBIE READER WITH SPIDER-NOIR! 💖🖤
So, if you're okay with that, I'd like to request a scenario where Spider-Noir witnesses reader Spider-Barbie fight one of the Kingpins' allies (one of them ruined her Malibu designer bag) and clearly our Barbie got mad at him and fought over her bag (and she won). Meanwhile Spider-Noir could only watch from a distance totally impressed with her.
"I'm so in love with her." .- Noir said aloud while the others looked surprised at the scene.
Crystal 💞✨
HELLOOOO I'M GLAD YOU LIKED ITTT man, this is really random, but i fr wanna see barbie spidersonas more ngl 😭😭😭ESPECIALLY ONE IN THIS SITUATION, SHE'D BE SO COOL i hope you like this one :DDD
(reblogs are greatly appreciated, it helps get my content out there! if you guys like what you see, please reblog it too <:D)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
he just loves a killer woman.
summary: oh, they had done it. you can try squashing spider barbie under your foot, but she'll always crawl back up; but try ruining her designer malibu barbie bag? yeah, you're not lasting another second with her. word count: 434
Tumblr media
oh, did that really just happen? did kingpin's meatheaded, buffoon of a goon really just do that? a rip resounded through the air as spider barbie watched in horror at how her lovely designer malibu barbie bag was just... just torn into pieces in front of her. noir watched the whole thing unfold as he knocked out one of them just earlier with his bare fists and slamming a random car into them with his webs, his eyes widening as spider barbie stared at the remains of her beloved designer handbag.
her expression was unreadable from her generally expressive mask, noir couldn't see her eyes as she stared at the now torn apart bag. "...my creator gave me that..." she muttered as she tore her gaze from the bag and directed it to the goon, who was now glowering over her and chuckled to themselves. "what? gonna cry about it? oh, boo-hoo, barbie's lost an accessory--grow up, ya pest of a little girl." they taunted her as they grabbed a stray stop sign to slam into her with, and before noir or the goon could do anything, spider barbie threw the first punch at the goon's abdomen that was left wide open.
from there, all of spider barbie's rage--from not just the destruction of the one thing that reminded her of the woman who created her and taught her what it meant to be herself--but from all the pent up frustrations and anger she's harbored for the longest time over all kinds of things came pouring out as she swung here and there to throw hands with this ignorant buffoon who dares condescend spider barbie.
"this is for my friends," whack! "this is for calling me a 'pest of a little girl'," bam! "and this, is for my designer malibu barbie bag, YOU CRETIN!" SLAM!
it was undeniable, spider barbie could kick ass. and as noir watched from the sidelines, admiring how proper and prim spider barbie still was as she fought--not to mention, incredibly fashionable and eye-catching while she kicked that goon's ass through and through--he could feel... a difference in his heart, a stronger palpitation in his heartbeat. he felt a warmth in his face as he found himself smiling a little as he watched her go.
'gee... what a woman, what a woman, what a woman.' he thought to himself as spider barbie subdued the goon and stood on top of them as she looked down at noir, taking off her mask, and smiling proudly at how she defeated this guy with the power of her sheer rage and awesome barbieness.

Doubts Put to Rest
A/N: Hello Everyone! This is my first ever Suits story. I hope you enjoy. I have an OC I'm working on and I'm excited to post it.
Fandom Prompt #15: "Welcome to the real world. It sucks. You're gonna love it."
Summary: Y/n Specter is Harvey's younger sister and has been an associate at Pearson Hardman for three months. After the last case she had helped Harvey with, a threat of her being fired is going around. Donna and Mike try to help, but ultimately, only her brother can put her mind at ease... even if he is part of the problem.
Character: Harvey Specter, Donna Paulsen, Mike Ross, mentions Jessica Pearson
Warnings: language
Word Count: 1,565
*gif is not mine*
Tumblr media
"Yes, exactly. They'll never know what hit them."
Harvey swivels in his chair, facing the two sources to his headache. "Why are the two puppies so excited about today?" He asks the two associates.
Y/n Specter rolls her eyes at her brother. The annoying pet name became Harvey's favorite since she started working at Pearson Hardman.
"I don't think he's ready for the truth." Mike teases, a smirk forming at the corner of his lips as he looks at his partner in crime.
Y/n doesn't even try to hide her smirk. "I agree. Maybe we should just run it by Jessica. I'm sure she would agree with us."
Mike's eyes widen. He shakes his head in warning, trying to be inconspicuous. He should've told the young girl that Harvey is in one of his moods and they shouldn't push too hard… especially on the subject of one Jessica Pearson.
Y/n immediately regrets her words when Harvey stands to his feet, any amusement he had completely gone.
"How about instead of wasting my time, you tell me what the fuck you found." He's not shouting, but he's not far from it.
Mike immediately spills their idea, working with Harvey long enough to know when to push and when to back off.
"Put it in writing and bring it to me by the end of the day." He orders as he settles back into his chair, his focus turning to his laptop. A clear sign of dismissal.
The two associates quickly leave the older man's office.
"Why would you say that?" Donna scolds, not even pretending she wasn't listening to their conversation.
Y/n shrugs her shoulders. "He wasn't in that bad of a mood this morning." She tries to defend herself. She has to be in a certain mood to even think about attempting to piss off her brother. "What happened in between this morning and now? We're going to win the case."
Donna's scolding glare turns to the other headache. "You didn't tell her?"
Y/n immediately notices how Mike turns on the puppy eyes. She rolls her eyes, no wondering Harvey always calls him a puppy. "Tell me what?"
She watches as her brother's secretary and associate have a staring contest, waiting for one of them to cave.
She may be an associate at Pearson Hardman, but Jessica made it clear to Harvey that his sister is not at his beck and call. She is to be available for other partners, just like the other associates.
And she prefers it that way. This case had more work and Mike asked for her help.
Just as she assumed, Mike is the first to cave.
"After the last case, Jessica started questioning whether or not it's a good idea to let you work here. She chewed Harvey out for punching that lawyer."
"It's not my fault Harvey feels the need to protect me... no matter how many times I tell him he doesn't need to."
"Oh honey, you know Harvey will always protect you. Even when he doesn't need to, he will."
Y/n can't deny Donna's words. Harvey has always been overprotective of those he cares about. That will never change. She just wishes he would butt out. "So Jessica wants me gone."
"She doesn't want to fire you, but she's starting to believe she's going to have to pick between the two of you and-"
"And there's no way she'll pick the kid sister over her own protégé." Y/n shakes her head. She knew working here was a bad idea. This is her brother's firm, not hers. She wanted it to be both, but it can't be. She's second.
And second choice never gets picked by the best.
"He told Jessica if you go, he goes." Mike tells her, his voice barely above a whisper as a paralegal passes by.
She snaps her eyes closed. No matter how old, how successful she is... she'll always be a headache for her brother. A nuisance he's been stuck with since their father passed.
"I don't pay you to sit around and gossip like school girls with Donna. Get to work." Harvey snaps.
Mike huffs as he turns on his heel and heads for the bullpen, but Y/n stays where she is, her eyes bravely staring right back at the raging bull.
The siblings stare silently at each other, making Donna bit her lower lip in dread. This could end very badly if she doesn't interfere soon. "Come on, Y/n. You can help me make copies while you wait for Mike."
Y/n breaks eye contact, forcing them to meet the redhead's. "Sure, Donna."
"No."
The two women freeze. Donna tries to catch Harvey's gaze but it's solely on his sister.
Y/n's stomach drops when Harvey gesture with his raised hand for her to come into his office. Maybe he's decided it will be better if she leaves. Maybe he realized he's tired of having her around. Maybe he wants her completely out of his life.
No. That's ridiculous. Harvey loves her. He may not always say 'I love you' but he shows it. Y/n has never questioned his love for her. Not until now.
But Harvey has never been in this position; to have to pick between his beloved law firm or his sister. Y/n knows how much this firm means to Harvey. She refuses to be the reason it's taken from him.
So with her head held high and her mind made up, Y/n strides into his office; ignoring the questioning raised eyebrow he sends Donna's way.
Standing in front of his desk, she waits for Harvey to sit, before she begins speaking. "I'm officially giving my two weeks notice."
The slight amusement that was starting to rise, drops like a cannonball. Harvey had seen that determined look many times before, mostly when Y/n was in her teens. The look is classic stubborn Specter glare and it brought back memories. Memories of Y/n stating her case on why she should go camping with her friends with no adults. Or when she was determined that she wasn't too sick to go to the courthouse to watch Harvey win against an old rival before throwing up the three crackers she ate thirty minutes beforehand.
But he never thought the girl would use that look to quit... to give up.
"What did you just say to me?"
"I'm not going to let you give up your job for me."
"Who said I was giving up my job?" At her fallen expression, Harvey quickly tries to explain. "Y/n, dammit, I didn't mean that I was picking my job over you. Neither one of us are leaving. You hear me? I'm not letting you quit and I'm not letting Jessica fire anyone. We're staying."
Y/n lets go of her fake fearless act, letting her legs give out as she plops down into the chair directly behind her. "H-How?"
"Because I'm the best damn closer the world has ever seen."
Y/n groans, her eyes rolling into the back of her head. "I fucking hate that answer."
"Welcome to the real world. It sucks." Harvey chuckles when that gets him another eye roll. "Don't worry. You're gonna love it."
"Already do."
Y/n lets the comfortable silence fall over them; glad the tension is gone.
She wants to drop it, but she needs to know. "Did Jessica really want me gone?"
Harvey shakes his head, the smile disappearing. "Dammit Mike." He mutters under his breath before turning his focus back to his sister. "Jessica was angry with me. We had to settle with the lawyer I punched. She was pissed and made threats she didn't mean. Jessica would never fire you. She loves you."
Y/n chews on his words, the hurt she was feeling towards the managing partner disappearing into the abyss. But she's not fully satisfied. "Jessica is still angry with you?"
Harvey swallows his pride. He refuses to admit it, but Y/n is one (if not the only) person Harvey is willing to put his pride aside for. "I apologized and I've been assigned two pro bono cases; one for each month."
Y/n can't hold back the smile. Jessica really knows how to hit Harvey where is hurts.
Harvey points an accusing finger at her, his eyebrows raised high. "And that look just cost you dearly. I'm assigning them to you."
Y/n's smile immediately falls. "Aww, come on, Harvey. You know Mike loves that shit. Why don't you give it to him?"
"Because then I can't punish him for blabbing his mouth to you and Donna about Jessica."
"I'll tell Jessica you pawned the case off to me." She ignores the fact that she sounds just like a five year old.
Harvey smirks. "No, you won't."
Y/n crosses her arms over her chest. "Oh yeah? And what's stopping me?"
She tries to ignore the anxiety building in the pit of her stomach. She never trusts Harvey when he has that look. A look so mischievous, the possibilities of what he is thinking are endless.
"I know you and Rachel stole Jessica tea set one night and had you own little tea party."
Y/n's jaw drops. There's only one person who knew about that besides the two woman there.
"Donna!"

"What the hell, why did Luther have to be the usual idiot to say those things to her?" Klaus says to Ben as the two walk down the sidewalk going from bar to bar looking for his sister.
"How do you know she went to a bar?" Ben asks and Klaus snorts.
"Come on she's a Hargreeves, obviously when she's upset she'll go to a bar." Klaus speaks like it's obvious.
The two stop in front of a bar and sigh.
"Well that's the penultimate one, let's hope." Klaus says, and enters the establishment, sighing in relief when he sees his sister up ahead in a circle of people who look very drunk.
"Sister, my goodness I found you, come let's go home." Kluas says taking her hand and pulling it.
"No Klaus, let me go!" Y/n says trying to get away from Klaus' hands.
"No honey, we're going home."
"Hey dude let her go." Klaus feels his sister being pulled from the other side, and turns towards the voice.
"She is my sister, and i will take her home with me." He says looking seriously at the man laughs.
"No, she will stay here." He says pulling more Y/n, who is too drunk to understand the situation.
Klaus looks at the man's hands on his sister's arms and all he wants to do is rip those dirty hands off of him because he knows that if she were sober she would never allow such a thing.
"Get your filthy paws off her!" Klaus says and pushes the man who falls backwards.
"Will it be like this then?" The man punches Klaus
Klaus staggered back a little, and his eyes searched his sister again, the punch hurt, it sure did, but he hates it a lot more if it had been his favorite person, his sister
He looked at her, who seemed distant in thoughts, and took advantage that the man was being held, to go to her and take her arm again.
"Let's go." He says and starts dragging her out of the confusion until they get out of that bar.
"Holy shit, that was an adventure, sister!" He says putting his hands on his knees and laughing.
"Klaus..." Ben says looking straight at Y/n.
Klaus looks at his sister and sees her eyes watering.
"Sorry Klaus, I only know how to mess things up, forgive me." She says putting her hands on her face and staggering a little.
Klaus sighed as he remembered that those were the exact words Luther had said to her a few hours ago.
"I can't believe you believed that giant, come on sister you know it's not true" Klaus says putting his arms around her shoulders, pulling her to his chest.
"You just got hurt because of me Klaus." Y/n says still crying in her chest.
"And I would do it again if it means you're safe, you've always been the one who believed in me, come on sister you've always been the one who believed in everyone." Ben nods at Klaus' words.
"Tell her she's the prettiest of all of us too." Ben says.
"Oh and the prettiest among us too." Klaus says, and Y/n laughs, letting go of him, and wiping away tears.
"You're the best brother, Klaus." She says smiling fondly to Klaus.
"Looks like you're the only one who thinks that" Klaus lets out an awkward laugh, and grabs his sister's arm when he sees her almost falling over.
"Anyone who doesn't realize how fantastic you are is completely crazy." She says with a huff and Klaus laughs at his sister's way.
"I think you should say that in front of the mirror." Klaus says taking her hand, and the three start walking.
It's a complicated family, but thank God they have each other.

She's coming back. She's finally coming back. Ashley has been gone for a day or two and you hadn't stopped worrying since. Leg bouncing, you wait anxiously for the helicopter to land. Eyes shifting from the sky to the helipad.
sky, helipad, sky, helipad, sky, helipad, sky, helip—
you hear the sound of rotor blades, whirling in the sky. You jump from your seat, a smile spreading on your lips. Seeing her step out, you have to resist the urge to run to her, knowing you'll probably get tackled if you do.
After everything is good, Ashley notices you and runs straight to you. The two of you falling on the floor from the speed of her. Tears streaming down both of your faces, hugging her so tightly, afraid if you let go, she'll be gone again.
"Oh my god, I — I missed you so much. Thought I'd never see you again," hiccups interrupting your words.
She hides her face in the crook on your neck, tears falling on it. "I was so scared, so fucking scared...I didn't think I was gonna make it." Her words mumbles from your skin.
The two of you soon get up, still hugging while you start to smother her in kisses. That is until when a man approaches the two of you.
Leon Kennedy, if you remember correctly. He gives a small wave and Ashley reluctantly releases you.
"Oh! [Name], this is Leon. He's the agent they sent to get me. Both of us had one hell of a night." She jokes.
He reaches his hand out and you take it, giving him a firm handshake.
"Thank you, thank you so much for bringing her back home. I don't know what I would've done if she never came home."
"No need to thank me, it is my job after all." His tone dry, you give an awkward smile. "I should get going," he gives Ashley a short hug and then pats her shoulder, "get home safe. Not sure if I'm willing to save you again after tonight," he smirks.
Ashley punches his shoulder, "yeah, yeah...See you around, Leon!" Waving as he starts to walk away, she turns back to you.
"You two remind me of siblings..Look like it too. You sure you don't have a long lost brother?"
"Oh, stop it! But, yeah, I do see him as an older brother. He kept me safe, didn't give up on me all the time in Spain...I'm thankful for him."
You hum and take her hand.
"Shall we?" You point your thumb to where the escort is.
"We shall." She leans on you as the two of you walk to the car and get in. Heading home, finally able to embrace each other again. She falls asleep on your shoulder and you soon fall asleep as well.
She's finally back in your arms, that's all you could ask for.
