Omg not to overwhelm you or anything but look how much progress you're making!!! I know it's not fun to look back at the past but comparing your original post where you came back to now, can you see the difference? Or at least feel it? I know it's been around maybe a week since then(maybe, I'm kinda horrible with time) but look at you go lady!! You're simultaneously taking your time/precautions while almost speed running it and I'm so happy to see it
Oh thank you! HAHA "taking your time while almost speedrunning" made me laugh. Yeah I literally thought to myself yesterday that I think I'm like, 70% okay with the color pink most days now??? I've been flinching seeing it since January, now I only flinch on my Really Bad Days! or I'm handling it at least much better than I used to when I get anxious seeing it, I'm able to ground myself much easier. Which is great! I love pink, I don't want to flinch at it, I want to enjoy it. Now I only get the flashbacks when seeing that color if I'm having a rly rly bad/fragile day. I know I can't look at any pink transformer right now (so sorry Arcee and Elita-1 my wives 😔) but I can look at Princess Bubblegum and Pinkie Pie without any problems now. So that might be healing... knock on wood...
I'm hoping I can have that same improvement with the clothes I associated with my abuser too, I've been actually thinking about purchasing a JBWKZ crop top and wearing my shorts/boots with it when I'm alone in the house for maybe 10 minutes on a good day and seeing if that helps me overcome the trigger. Psychologists say it takes 30 days to break or form a habit, if I did that for 30 days I might feel so much better. Or at least, I will feel more in control. Or I can draw my S/I wearing Charlie Watson's outfits, or Marceline's outfits, bc they wear that same type of clothing... I've been trying to draw my S/I in a red cloak when she's with Steeljaw, like trying to view it as a little red riding hood thing, something safe. It's still really hard for me but god I want to get better so bad. I will do anything to make the ptsd go away. I am 100% willing to look at these things every single day (if I know I'm in a safe enough headspace to allow the feelings to wash over me instead of consume me) if it makes the healing process go faster. I hate feeling this way, I am so angry that someone made me like this. I want myself back, I miss Me more than anything else in the world and I am getting Me back!!! no matter what!!!
I was having a rly rly rly bad day yesterday so I was offline the whole day (my queue is always rolling, all the happy tags you see on my reblogged posts are from almost a year ago). And I was like, dang I'm never getting better, I'm stuck like this forever, I just want back what was stolen from me blahblahblah the usual depressed spiral, I felt that way a bit today too after waking up :( my anxiety is so present right now, there is SO much dread in my chest it feels like there's a physical weight on it. But I used to feel like this EVERY day! I've had 3 days in the last 10 days where I didn't have an anxiety attack even once! That's so big for me!!! Sometimes I wake up feeling shaky but the dread/weight of anxiety is not as strong, and I consider those days easier to work with. And I used to have days where nothing was "easier to work with" it was just hell. I wouldn't say that I'm feeling so much better than before, I am still really hurting, but I am feeling better! which is something!
And yeah you're right, if you compare how I was like, crying while writing my pinned, fully believing nobody was going to be there for me, I was like "I'm gonna write this whole vent post to explain where I went, nobody will believe me, I'll open 5 commission slots to pay off the most recent hospital bill and then I'll leave again and no one will have to care bc I'm not worth caring about" (which wasn't just a self depreciative depression thing, that was like, a genuine belief that was instilled into me for so long). And then immediately I got bombarded with people giving me the kindest words. I got almost 250 messages in the span of just 4 days, all of them people saying they want me to get better and that they hear me, they see me, they are acknowledging what I went through. I spent so long isolated with one single person who put me down continuously, and my family who truly did not feel concerned when I was trying to end my life. I did not expect people to be kind to be because I was conditioned to believe I'm not worthy of kindness. So the fact that I was able to go on my blog and receive that almost immediately? I actually felt like myself for a solid 6 hours the other day because people were writing nice comments on my art and telling me they want me to reclaim my TF F/Os and they're cheering for me. I didn't think I could accomplish something like that, feeling like myself I mean, bc I've been feeling so bad for so so long. I really hope I still have the capability of improving from here.
I'm still very numb most days and I've been masking my feelings trying to be rly enthusiastic with my public responses, putting a bunch of hearts and smiley faces when answering asks... today I'm struggling a bit, but I think I have improved at the same time. even if it's just a little, the improvement is visible to me and that gives me hope.

A/N 2: I'm sorry if he seems a tad OOC, but I feel like he'd be more comfortable/friendly(?) When there isn't anybody else around. He definitely does at least a couple things to make him appear scarier for his reputation.

A few days later, and it looked like the weatherman was right. The skies do look quite miserable today. It’s full of dull grey clouds, but no rain. You sit at home, bored, having nothing good to do. You want to play video games, but you’ve already speedrun them all with Leo, or they’re no fun. Then it hits you. The Shoal! You’ve always wanted to go, but it was always way too busy for your comfort zone. You quickly get up and throw your favorite top on, grabbing your bag and headphones, throwing your shoes on. Milo asks you where you’re going, just to be safe.
“Alright, have fun! Oh, grab a brella and don’t get caught in the rain!”
You sigh at how protective he is, but he’s right. You grab his brella since it’s closest to the door, and head out.

You take a look around, only spotting the person at the counter and a couple who are about to leave. You can actually hear the sounds of all the arcade games waiting to be played, instead the screams of young squids. You get your coins, a good handful of them, and take a quick walk around the building. You spot a game that looks familiar. It looks almost just like pacman, Except with squids. Oh, how this brings out the kid in you!
You get lost in the games, going from pac-man, to space invaders, even finding tetris. Those aren’t the proper names, but they’re basically the same games with some more splatoon-like attributes. It doesn’t seem like anyone’s around, so you absentmindedly start to hum, then quietly sing some songs that have been stuck in your head.

You continue to hum the lyrics you’re not sure on, but stop mid lyric(mid-hum?) when you hear some loud clicking. It’s coming from the front of you to the right, hidden by some large arcade machines. You could barely see through the cracks of the big machines, not recognising the person. It seems they were playing squid beatz, and they were phenomenal at it. You didn’t want to bother anyone, but they sounded insanely skilled at the game. Just a little peek? You go around the machines and turn the corner, now recognizing this familiar, cyan-colored inkling immediately. You kept quiet not wanting to distract him and mess him up. When you turn your back to him, he calls out to you.
“Hey, yooou.”
You notice he just completed the level, with a seemingly perfect score.
“Uh, yeah?” You shift in your spot awkwardly, not really wanting to interact too much.
‘Actually, the story is only focusing on Rider and Goggles in hero mode right now. That means that this is the time to meet these characters.’
“You look familiaaar. You had curry with everyone a couple days agoooo, right? You came and watched some of my battles, toooo.”
“Never would have thought you paid so much attention to details. I don’t think I stand out that much, do I?” You decided the best way to go about this was to feel somewhat comfortable, but still keep your space and show a bit of respect.
“Where’s the rest of team cyan?”
He picks an easier song to play to, not wanting to lose while still semi-focusing on the conversation. How thoughtful. (It was still a difficult song, but there were fewer quick sequences of notes.)
“Juuuust me here. They wanted to finish speedrunning a game that I beat aaaages ago.”
You boot up a game just a few machines down, knowing that this one’s easy to play, so you don’t have to have your full attention on it.
“What about yooours?”
“Wanted to come alone. Never been to the Shoal before because it was always so busy, figured today was my best option.”
He finishes the song with ease, patting his pockets and seeing that he needs more coins. He brought a small bag with him, and you see a pile of tickets building up in it. He must have been here a while. You’re not sure what to do, so you follow behind him after purposefully loosing your game.
He notices you,
“Yeah, weather’s perfect. Just hooow I like it.”
He looks outside, now being close to the front of the store.
“Starting to raaaain.”
Already? It doesn’t feel like you’ve been here that long. You check your phone and sure enough, you’ve been here for a couple hours.
“You plan on heading home before the rain hits, Mask?”
“I wouldn’t mind staaaying here aaaall day.”
You shrug, agreeing on that. The sun is usually really hot out, so it’s a nice change of pace. A big contrast to all the bright colors and loud sounds that are usually everywhere.
Your stomach rumbles, and you remember that you haven’t had anything to eat since a small snack you considered breakfast.
You look around and see a sign that says they offer food, perfect.
“You hungry? I bet you’ve been here a while.”
“A liiittle.”
“How ‘bout I get us some pizza?”
He contemplates it, but who’s gonna deny free pizza? He puts his coins in his pocket.
“Suuuure.”
You take your time eating, they had some surprisingly good pizza and soda here. He’d pull his mask just barely above his mouth to take a small bite every once in a while. Mask would sneeze every so often, earning him a tissue from your bag. He didn’t eat lots, which made sense considering his overly skinny frame. Good thing he did turf to gain some muscle, but he should really try to take better care of himself. You two didn’t talk a lot, but sometimes Mask would ask you something, usually unrelated to battles. It’s actually quite nice not talking about battles or your skill, it seems it’s all others care about when it comes to you.
He’s weird, that’s for sure. But once he warms up to you, he’s a nice break from reality, if you could even call it that. Not that he’d ever be completely comfortable, not even with his own teammates, that’s just how he is. You noticed that even out of battles, they would keep a comfortable distance. It seems he’s not a fan of physical contact, which is something you could respect. Once the two of you were done eating you continued to play on the arcade machines. You finally ran out of coins, sad that you had to leave. You were enjoying this time, finally able to genuienly hang out with someone from the manga without being afraid of changing the story. He notices that you’ve been quiet for a while, and sees that you’re no longer playing your game, just watching his. He offers you a couple coins, but you deny them.
“That’s really sweet of you, but I should probably make my way home. Milo probably has an actual supper ready. Can’t wait to get home and have him lecture me on having pizza before supper.” He turns his head away, not used to being complemented. You check your pockets to see how many tickets you have, you probably have a couple hundred. It won’t get you any big prizes, but if you were to give them to Mask, on top of his - at least a thousand,- he could get himself something nice. You try to subtly drop your tickets into the bag next to his foot, but he catches them before they can fall into his bag. Oh yeah, he’s S+. He’s got quick reflexes if he feels like using them.
“I don’t need them, I’m here ooooften.” He quits his game halfway through, and walks over to the prize counter, bag in hand. You want to question him, curious as to why he wants a prize all of a sudden. Maybe he just remembered something at the counter that he wanted. He asks for something behind the counter and the worker trades him for it. While browsing the smaller prizes, you vaguely hear the words: “One thousand tickets,”
Hey, he worked for them, so whatever he’s getting is completely up to him.
Once he’s done at the counter, you ask the worker for two keychains. One cyan squid, and one squid of your main ink color. He gives them to you in exchange for 125 tickets each, and you clip the cyan one to your bag. Mask watches you and waits for you to be done before holding out the item he got.
“It’s Naruto, volumes 1-3 all combined in one book.. I heard you humming the opening earlier, so I figured you were a fan of the series.”
…that’s embarrassing.
Since when was he this kind? But also, Naruto! That means that 1. Anime and manga exist here, and 2. He’s a weeb. Actually it was kind of obvious, he definitely seems like the type to watch anime.
You’re unsure of how to accept it, it is really nice of him, but it’s so expensive! But he already got it, and he probably already has the same one at home, so you can’t just deny this!
“Oh… thank you. That’s, um, actually really nice. Makes it feel more like home.”
“Huuuh? Hooome?”
“Oh, yeah, I just moved here, and couldn’t bring all my old manga, which really sucked.”
“Ouuuch. It can get pretty expensive.”
You sway on your feet, not sure what else to say. You already thanked him, but you don’t want to leave. You’ll see him again though, you’re sure.
You offer him a small smile and wave after some contemplating, and make your way out the door, grabbing your brella.
He watches you make your way out of the building, open your brella, and walk out of his sight. He picks up his bag, and feels a bit of cold metal on his hand. A keychain. With a squid that matches your ink color.
‘Huh. They sure are weird.’

It's okay to feel sad sometimes, I admit I felt really empty for the whole month of march with the admins situations and etoiles not be well. I think right now it goes past me, the new interview was not great news but it didn't felt like a surprise. I think I'm just detached now, and new objectives are a good start for this! I mainly watch the French and the LA streamers but Foolish transitioned his content with famsmp and some variety, Tubbo has the tubbaton with lot of activities...
Etoiles have a monthly goal with the Zlan and the trivia training, so it feels like the channel is having a training arc, something we love everyear! It brings a lot of new games, guests and tryharding so it's very cool to watch! Before qsmp he didn't really streamed minecraft at all (except the speedrun for a past zlan) so a lot of viewers are happy to see him back on some variety ^^
But yeah I think it's harder with streamers that where relying of the server for content like fit, Philza, bagi, pac, bbh, pac... I guess them stopping/reducing playing on it feels more "brutal" since they mostly do qsmp. For exemple cellbit, etoiles and antoine always did a lot of variety and where not streaming that much qsmp these past months so it's easier to let it go when you watch them
Hope you'll get better in any case, I like seeing your French-learning adventures on my feed!!

I became detached very quickly, i think the feelings are coming back now though kkkkk. I know etoiles viewers were having a worried month, im glad hes back and that you all have your hearts more at ease 🫂 the admin situation still sucks, but we can continue to love lumi even if she wont be pomme anymore
Im excited for etoiles training arc, its my first time seeing it and i absolutely adore variety now thanks to him, and especially when its him doing it <3 i know nothing about zlan but im excited to learn and experience it!
Philza was my main streamer for a while and he was completely ok doing nothing but hardcore for two whole years (with a little origins smp interjection but well.. that died quickly), and everyone was completely ok watching it. I dont think phil and crows will have problems if phil stops playing but for the rest my heart aches :( pac, bagi, bbh, fit, their stories are all so good and its so unfair it ended like this, with admins being fired.
Thank you for supporting my french adventures, i will not stop learning it o7 i think my main streamers will be etoiles, baghera and aypierre now (i see pierre is having fun in stardew valley and ive never watched it but im interested!) and occasionally guill because i saw him play one (1) mc tournament and oh my god. The movements? Its so smooth?? Crazyyyyyy.... i hope that by zlan i can know a lot more french and not have to rely on subtitles so much o7

So how do we feel about that update
because I'm obsessed
Sheds are changing my life. This is exactly what I wanted. I'm so happy.
(this got really long so I'll put my thoughts under a read more! spoilers for, the update I guess!)
I am speedrunning sheds immediately. I have already found some places to set them up and figured out how I can fit my entire crafting operations into 2 sheds. Now I just need to move over all the stuff in the chests in my one barn so that I can replace it with the shed and put the barn elsewhere.
Then I can use shed 3 for storage as I've wanted so badly so I don't need nearly so many hecking chests everywhere. Shed 4.... I actually don't know what I'll use it for yet. I actually have options! Maybe I will dress it up like a cute little room, or keep some of my pet collection in it, or fill it with stuffed animals, or see if I can make a cute little flower shop like Lavender would want.... I'm excited. I have options again. And assuming I can find somewhere else to put my other barn, that opens up a lot for me.
Also the barn upgrades are great. They don't take up any more space than before, they look cool, sure they give me more junk that I have to remove to fit more animals in but that's always the truth so it's neat. Now I have... ladders I guess. But I can store them in my shed!
But also. Nel'Vari barns. I am. SO excited
the moment I saw. that they had added in a frog barn animal. I knew. I would need Nel'Vari barns immediately. I love him I need 10 of these things right now immediately
All the new animals are so cute! I'm excited to get stuff set up so that I can put them places and gain their resources.
To that end, though, I realized that Nel'Vari barns were going to require me to actually do Progression that I hadn't done yet (because so far I hadn't really found anything I wanted that required Nel'Vari mines stuff. I knew I wanted to get there sooner or later, but just... didn't need to yet). I have a fire under my butt again and I'm actually making progress which feels amazing. Trying to seriously manage multiple farms is going to be a problem but what I really need to find a spot to do a massive amount of wheat production which will help with all the barns. It'll be complicated, but I'll figure it out.
uhhhhh oh yeah more RNPCs happened. They're cool! I like Kai, I've met him and I like his stuff so far as I've seen it. I haven't met Vivi yet but I can't WAIT to forcefully befriend her. Wesley is... Wesley. I'm happy for him. I'll befriend him eventually, probably while I'm in the middle of running around Nel'Vari doing mine stuff.
The house customization I haven't been able to play a lot with yet but I will more when I have my sheds figured out and money to waste. Playing Mix and Match should be fun, and I'm glad they're planning to put out more in the future! Even more stuff to look forward to~
Also now sometimes ghosts come and water my crops and I love them. Me and the ghosts are buds.
But also... this list... ohhhh man this list. I love this list. I'm p excited for most things on it but ESPECIALLY Farm Structures and WG and NV fruit trees. I LOVE fruit trees. I have a whole orchard section on my farm. Passive income is my JAM. Black market? Birthday? MORE RNPCs? I'm looking forward to all of these so much. Race-based dialog I know is something a lot of players have been looking for for a long time so I am interested to see how that gets put in! More dialog is generally good and they seem to have the personalities of the characters pretty well in hand so hopefully they'll just be fun fluff things and Lavender will finally be able to relate to Kitty and Catherine and they'll be best Amari buds forever (And then with Vivi too!)
Anyways I just wanted to spew my thoughts everywhere for a bit because I've been having so much fun again. Tell me your thoughts! Anything you don't like? What do you want to see in the future?
Bonus: Claude continues to have a hard time fighting the vampire allegations.

ME1
First playthrough, I tried to mix it and take everyone around equally. I did mostly end up bringing Tali and liara around because I thought they were pretty.
Started on vetran difficulty.
Infiltrator class, tried Vanguard and didn't like it, so I switched to this one. I like the sniper playstyle and used the spectre weapon. Tried hammer first and enjoyed it, but I wanted to learn better my aim, and hammer was too forgiving for that so I switcted.
The hunt for colossus armour was...painful- took many reloads but when I finally did it, it was so worth it. I didn't know much about powers and they looked intmidating so I avoided using them, but I still appreciated whenever my teamates used stasis.
It paid off, especially in ng+ when I had every colossus X armour for all teamates except Tali. I did end up taking Ashley everywhere during that playthrough and occasionally switching the second teammate since I planned on sacrificing her on virmire.
Tried hardcore in ng+, was fun but I was trying to speedrun things bc I messed up the Kaidan romance so I lowered it back to vetran.
First game Shep looked so adorable my god, I do miss the scar. I picked war hero background and headcanoned that it was the results of Elysium. Oh and earthborn too. Makes sense to have a gaint face scar while running around in gangs.
ME2
The ammo introduction helped ease me into the powers and I liked the cloaking mechanic because of its dmg boost. Still used sniper.
Cryo ammo team upgrade so the other two people get it, then I switch my weapon to either Heavy Disrupter or Tungsten.
X-98f Widow. I was kinda disappointed in how I got very few sniper choices and instead had to relay on separate upgrades, but oh well.
Cain was a stable always, the main goat in so many different scenarios I can't even begin. Especially OP in the grunt loyalty mission for the thrasher maw. Can't wait to try it in insanity.
For the armour, I didn't relay on them much. Most dmg came from seperate upgrades so i only wore whatever looked the best. I did have the helmet separation mod. The blood dragon was my favourite for a while tho! Mainly for its look.
I preferred whatever armor gave me more spare ammo since it meant the more enemies I could one shot with a sniper if I get a headshot, make every bullet count yk? And reloading was so tedious and didn't time well with my cloaking cooldown.
The N7 shadow armour looked amazing, second place is N7 Demolisher armour, and third Garmr heavy assault armour but that one might be modded and not vanilla, not sure.
I only worried about extra dmg or more ammo, everything else was ignored.
Kept same difficulty.
Thane, Mordin and Grunt were my favourite to take with me because of their dialogue. I did take Thane and Garrus with me to form a sniper trio a couple times, it was hilarious just 3 campers sitting behind covers on their cushy seats.
Only of Garrus stopped fucking switching his weapon every 5 seconds.
After getting legion, he became a constant, I even revisited old locations just to see if he has anything new to say.
Second game Shep was def more cunty, the bold eyelashes. Cerberus probably removed the scar :(
I left the surgery scars to heal on their own, but they eventually disappeared bc of my choices. I tried going more renegade to bring them back, but it became too OOC.
ME3
I haven't progressed much but so far, I'm really happy with the weapon options! So many new snipers and the power levels charts are back instead of annoying seperate upgrades hell yeah!
Plus, we get add-ons, which are very nice. I'm using the Black Widow, satisfying heavy shots, my beloved. Still picking armour based on looks but most of them look bad so- yeah.
I do use modded armour tho! Some are really pretty, especially the modded Ashley one. Anything that boosts power cooldown and headshot dmg for me is a winner.
It's a cycle of, cloak to get 40% dmg, shoot, reload, cloak to get 40% dmg, shoot, reload. And the cooldown matches perfectly with the black widow reloading so there is very little waiting. I can get my 40% bonus back on immediately after reloading.
Also I don't take any other weapons so the recharge speed bonus stays around a 100%. That's why I relay on incinerate when I run out of ammo since I don't have a pistol.
I noticed the focus on mele and I'm glad they are getting more attention, they deserve it tbh. I'm comfortable using powers now and I still do the same cryo bullets teamwide trick then switch to my own ammo.
I'm taking Javik everywhere! I love Javik, I will die for Javik, I will kill for Javik. Please ask me to kill for Javik, Please please please-
By third game I grew very comfortable with mods and added whatever ones I could find.
This is how it's going so far. I don't use tech or powers for dmg so I ignore them. Incinerate is there for when I run out of ammo since it does surprisingly decent dmg.
Using the thermal upgrade that lets you see enemies through fog, smoke and walls. Comes in handy when lining up the shot as they emerge from their cover or when they throw a smoke grenade. Still toying with the second upgrade choice but the enhancer one that slows down time for a bit seems good for now.
I tried my best to make a pretty Shepard and fix the mess the third game did to character creation, a lot of Shepard's face is adjusted bones and morphs through the save file editor.
You have to consider that this is what I started with
Eyelids clipping constantly through my eyes.

I think I have decent aim now! I wanna replay the whole trilogy on insanity eventually, that's if Andromeda doesn't go on sale anytime soon. I'm still playing through the third and taking my time, this game is so fun.

oh yeah. the exposition level. it's got my favorite crystal heart puzzle, adds at least 3 of my favorite mechanics in the game (kevins, feathers, bumpers) AND it's got a whole boss fight in it where you, quite literally, confront yourself. it's such a cool setup for chapter 7 as well
#4. 7A // The Summit
champion's road but celeste. i love this level. Reach for the Summit is actually one of my favorite songs from this game solely because of how well it translates every past level's theme into this cool, unified, progressive melody. also combining all the levels like this is just such a cool idea, especially the little interactions madeline and (not) madeline have with each other.
and the final part一especially when it comes to a casual runthrough or speedrunning一 is SUCH an adrenaline rush; every time i get there, i'm always thinking "you can do this". it's like you magically just gain the determination to keep going
#3. 2A // Old Site
this is really here because of bias. i think this chapter is neat and a very nice setup for some other stuff later on. but why is it here though?
dream blocks get introduced. it's my favorite gimmick. there's so much fun to be had with them, no matter how good you are at the game. as someone who's already kinda... cracked, i already know a lot of stuff you can pull off. dream jumps, dream grabs, dream hypers, to name a few... and don't get me STARTED on what mods do to it
#2. 8C // Core C-Side
champion's road but short. in the sense that, while C-Sides are only like 3 rooms, the last room is just a fusion of (nearly) every single gimmick you've been shown up to this point, INCLUDING Core's hot/cold gimmick.
to be completely honest, i hate Core with every fiber of my being (gameplay-wise. i think when it pertains to anything else it's actually very cool). i hated 8A and 8B on my first runs through them... but this was (and is) the one exception.
also you learn how to do hypers.

chat. need i say more
it's champion's road but for real. and you get to go to SPACE
story so good it almost makes you cry with symbolism done severely well, music so good it makes you feel every emotion all at once (i even REMIXED Farewell the song i love it that much), and gameplay so good that, despite it being intense on the first run through, is genuinely very cool and fun once you get it down. no other celeste level could ever do a "final room" like 9A did. plus you even get taught how to wavedash (via POWERPOINT i must add)! that's like, the coolest tech in the game... and the aesthetic?
it's SPACE bro who doesn't like space. you're throwin weird space jellies and jumping on space pufferfish and dodging space starfish. there's quite literally a black hole eventually. also you can breathe and there's a bird up here that WON'T STOP RUNNING AWAY
once you beat it, you become changed forever. nowadays i can beat it in like 35 minutes... but i'll be damned if i ever attempt "the farewell golden". i know my limits
i would've definitely given my favorite modded levels; there's a lot of them i know were good, but i couldn't recall anything specific about them in particular, so i just... didn't

Hi! I went scrolling though your tumblr and stumbled upon one of your previous asks where you mentioned a carter-and-sadie-get-thrown-back-in-time au. I’d love to hear more of that!
Oh hell yeah let's do this. Mind, this AU is The Absolute Most at all times.
-Okay, so, first off, extremely obvious place for this to happen is at the end of The Serpent's Shadow, when they fail to banish Apophis for whatever reason during the final battle. This is a fun place, sure, but I think it's A, better for character development, and B, funnier, if they both bite it while in the Land of Demons with Zia and Setne. Let's say they both wind up in the Sea of Chaos, win the lottery spin of various universal outcomes, and boom. Time travel.
-This is totally how magic works. Uh-huh.
-Carter has a fucking aneurysm That's Not How The Force Works-style over this, trying to figure out what the fuck happened. It's great.
-Seriously, the PJO time travel thing is fun because Percy angsts and things go wrong and he tries to do everything Alone. The Kane Chronicles one is fun because Carter and Sadie have negative respect for authority, neither of them have any issue with throwing someone through a window to save time, and they both know about a dozen different ways to get it done.
-Oh yeah, speaking of throwing! They both wake up with massive headaches right after Julius explodes the Rosetta Stone. Carter stabs a bitch (Set) with a magic sword, then passes out because ~head trauma~.
-Also, bear in mind that these kids are fourteen and twelve and the House of Life just went to six years' worth of trouble to try and keep them as much out of the know as possible. And then they show up, kicking ass and taking godly names and knowing things that they really shouldn't, like they've been at this for years.
-Desjardins needs a drink. Or possibly six.
-Something something butterfly effect something something chaos. Anyway, things here are largely Their Past But Two Inches To The Right. Sometimes things change that are small but explainable, things that are big and inexplicable, and some are medium-sized and only resolved after an offhand comment from Zia a decade from now. The biggest thing here is Carter and Sadie struggling to manage everything.
-See, the fun thing in TKC is a lot of the big decisions? You can't just speedrun that shit! Re-opening the path of the gods is dangerous and takes time. Zia won't be in a spot where she's willing and/or able to take on Ra for years. Sadie can't just walk up to Walt and say that he should just merge with a god to fix all his problems when he's barely come to terms with Tut's curse.
-Fuck, they can't even go to the Duat and start shit with Apophis because. . .well, first off, they need to go and get the shadow, which they didn't even quite manage last time, because Setne and Land of the fucking Demons. Second off, no matter how powerful they are, starting shit with Apophis with an extra plan or two is pretty suicidal. Also! There are a lot of magicians who want to kill them! They need to be careful!
-Half of the gods are extremely freaked because Carter and Sadie's minds are Not Right and getting Horus and Isis to play ball is a chore, since they need that agreement do things like the combat avatar or casting really complicated spells, even if they have two-ish years of experience under their belts.
-This does not, to be clear, stop them from trying to speedrun The Red Pyramid, or this being their exact attitude towards their resident gods-in-the-head:

-Since. . .well, uh, look. Carter and Sadie are incredibly hyper-competent. But they're also incredibly freaked teenagers who haven't had serious adult supervision in. . .a while. They also the ability to warp reality, and have the respective jobs of: Future king of the universe and his sister, saving the world from the snake who wants to eat the sun, and re-opening an really dangerous path of magic that the Reigning Magic Organization has said they'll kill for doing.
-Also, all their friends no longer have a fucking clue who they are. Carter already did this song and dance with Zia, too, which is. . .huh. Fascinating neuroses forming there.
-The Kane siblings are very fun here, because Sadie is Very Loudly Not Fine about very mundane changes, but not saying a peep about the things that are actually fucking her up until someone taps her on the shoulder at the wrong moment when she's gone vacant-eyed at the sight of her gran and she flinches like she got punched in the jaw, while Carter is Insistently Just Fine until Jaz says hi to him one morning and he starts sobbing.
-Bast doesn't count as supervision either, because she's a cat god. Bast wants to shake them by the scruffs of their neck until they start acting their own ages or she gets a satisfactory explanation for what's taken residence in their heads. Their magical auras are wrong.
-About the only fun part of dealing with the gods is when Sadie sucker-punches Serqet and goes What, Like It's Hard?, Legally Blonde-style, to a very confused and unnerved Zia. This move is not something she can make a pattern of, to be clear. But it feels good and she can do it now, so she does.
-I have no idea if Amos is definitely still possessed here by Set, for the angsty comedy of Carter and Sadie repeatedly knocking him out and dragging him around until they have time to Deal With That, or if it's ambiguous and possibly actually in someone else? And they have to go Holmes and Watson on the case.
(Of course, they may have different gods themselves altogether, and goddammit, I need to stop coming up with AUs)
-Like, yeah, sure, they know Set is the problem, their dad is probably fine, but they have to explain this in such a way that people don't think they're possessed! This is a very valid concern and leads to worries that they're terrorizing their younger selves by stealing their bodies or something.
(they're not. but it's a Recurring Thing that people think that they've possessed Younger Carter And Sadie)
-Anyway, they still get dragged to the First Nome, because Julius broke half a dozen rules of magician-ing, these kids are acting. . .like they've been possessed by Horus and Isis, to be honest.
-Carter tries to warn Zia about the being-possesed-by-a-god thing before Iskandar tries to save her life and inadvertently consign her to Watery Nightmare Coma Hell, to convince her to come with them, and thinking honesty may be the best policy--Zia's pretty morally upright, and more than trustworthy and willing to trust the Kanes, after all.
-This does not go as Carter planned.
-Sadie, remembering Iskandar fucking dies and not wanting to deal with the complicated and short reign of Desjardins as Chief Lector (or the whole guilt thing about him dying and just. . .complicated. Inconvenient. Just make sure it never happens!) by giving him a boost in the health department and extending his life.
-This does not go as Sadie planned.
-Oh, and neither of them know how to convince Nephthys to play ball since neither of them know Set's name, so even though they know how to defeat him, short out of an out-and-out brawl that there's no guarantee they can win, they need to get that! And Anubis is super suspicious and not into getting bullied by Isis into giving them a Feather of Truth!
-On the bright side, they decide to pull the Carter Will One Day Be Pharaoh Card and convince Sobek to be, like, marginally useful as the pharaoh's enforcer after Sadie dropkicked Serqet into next week.
-Meanwhile, Iskandar is alive, but reluctantly all They Should Probably Be Brought In And Restrained At Minimum. Zia is contemplative and ends up pursuing Carter and Sadie on her own after her powers start going sideways and Iskandar nearly does knock her out.
-So now Zia's a fugitive. Sort of. Iskandar really doesn't want to do it, but Desjardins is doing the Godlings Must Die thing, and a lot of the First Nome is on his side.
(He lightens up after the Kane siblings + Zia manage to save the world and certain things about Sadie and Iskandar's health come to life. Marginally)
-Anyway, things are chaotic, sort of working out for the better, but Carter and Sadie are about fifteen times more traumatized than they were last time.
-Also, Jaz is canonically from Nashville, so I say that when they decide to drop by Thoth's place to try and get an idea of What The Fuck happened, they find her and she joins their ridiculous quest to Save The World: Electric Boogaloo, because Highly Enthusiastic Southern Cheerleader Who Just Found Out She Can Commit Arson With Her Mind is a brilliant person to have along.
-I think the last big thing I have from this, beyond everything going so sideways (The House of Life is, like, ninety percent sure that Carter and Sadie are possessed, but can't do much about it at the moment beyond periodically trying to kill them) is the whole power thing.
-The urge to basically blast their way through everyone until they agree with what's up is strong, guys. Also, the urge to drag Setne out of the Underworld just to beat him up for a bit. Lots of power struggles and reminding themselves not to commit too many war crimes in the face of an oncoming apocalypse where they have no idea what their best plan is, and also, half the people they could trust off the bat this time? Don't trust 'em this time.
-Oh yeah, and for a while, Amos and Julius/Osiris aren't unconvinced that this isn't some sort of power play by Horus and Isis to leverage things in their favor, so. . .. Sad times. :(
-I am a big fan of "Time travel doesn't necessarily fix everything", but this trilogy is just so fucking chaotic, and so many of the biggest parts rely on character growth, and you can't force that! No matter how much you may get frustrated and want to, if you're Sadie and/or Carter.

Spoilers for the Final Horizon below the cut
I had a pretty great time playing the DLC overall, although it is very hard in a lot of sections, so you're probably not going to have as much fun if you're not super good at video games. I didn't struggle too much with it for the most part, but there was a lot more challenge than the base game
Playing as the other characters was really fun, I haven't even unlocked any of their full movesets yet because I was just speedrunning the story, but I still loved their gameplay. The platforming bits that cater to each of their abilities are all also greatly designed imo
The story was pretty cool, I enjoyed seeing everyone play more of a role than before, and they had some pretty fun interactions. Learning more of the Ancients' lore and even getting to directly interact with the pilots was awesome, too
The bosses were kind of wild, I only tried to fight Tank+ and Spider+, and only managed to beat Tank+. I thought I was doing something wrong while fighting it because it wasn't taking much damage even though I had my stats maxed out, but I guess it's just supposed to be a superboss type thing
I fell off all the towers a lot, but I also did that on the Rhea towers in the base game, so I don't think they really spiked the difficulty there. Most of the trials were pretty easy, except for the final one, which was just insane. That is, before I turned down the difficulty, because apparently the window of the parry is tied to the game's difficulty (Which I don't think they mention anywhere). Once I had it set to easy instead of hard, it actually felt like a fair challenge, though it still did take me a while
Supreme's second form is SO cool, and a lot more fun to fight against, except for the fact that you have to dodge to turn around and be able to sever The End's cable. I had to look that part up because it doesn't make any sense and they only hint they give you is that you need to sever the cable, which they didn't tell you how to do. There's also a lot of cool things that happen during the fight, like Super Sonic using a cyloop on Supreme's gun, and Sage, Amy, Knuckles, and Tails all coming together to form a shield. The ending of the fight is pretty cool, I still slightly prefer Sage piloting Supreme and working with Sonic to fight The End from a story perspective, but Sonic using the energy he gained by talking with the four pilots and the Master King to finally defeat the end is still nice enough narrative wise. Also Sage lives in this ending :) (Well she lived in the normal ending too but you know what I mean)
OH YEAH also the Cyberspace stages are crazy, but in a good way. They're still hard, though, I only tried one during my playthough, and I never even managed to reach the end of it. I just ran around and dug up the Lookout Koco I needed from out of the ground, which worked pretty well actually
Man, my fingers hurt now, from playing the game nonstop and from typing all this. I gotta give them a rest now

2. What’s a fic that took you to an emotional/dark/hard place?
Not necessarily a *dark* place, but I wrote the last few chapters of Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday/beginning of Leaves That Are Green when I was in a pretty rough spot. My senior year of university, particularly my second semester, was rough. Protip, kids: don't try and speedrun two degrees in three years! Whatever. I survived, but fics obviously took a backseat to my theses and other schoolwork. I was real deep in the OCD sauce at the time, too, so I think I subconsciously started addressing that part of Mista a lot more.
Oh also not as bad, but I was So Reluctant to write Narancia's death scene in that fic. I was hyping it up in my brain the entire time I was writing that fic, in sort of a "hehe angst will be real in 5" kinda way, but then I got to that chapter, and I was like. Hhhhhhh. I don't want to do this. It may not seem like it based on the way I treat him in fics, but I really love Narancia, guys. The little Naramis fics I wrote where he lives were cathartic as hell after that.
3. What fic are you emotionally attached to?
THE MISTA FIC. That's my baby. While it's not flawless, it's probably the fic I'm proudest of, and I've met a lot of cool friends and mutuals through it :] Plus like. Genuinely. I wasn't even that invested in Mista before I wrote it. But now? I'm the Mista guy I guess.
I have a lot of good memories of I Don't Want to Spoil the Party, too, as I've said before. And if we're going far, far back,,, as much as I hate my Jotakak fics, This Magic Moment has a special place in my heart. I haven't reread it in ages, and I don't recommend seeking it out lol. But it was the first fic I ever posted online, and I was super nervous about it. I figured it'd get a couple kudos here and there, maybe, if it didn't just get buried in the Jotakak tag. But in the middle of the night, I got a notification that someone left a long essay comment on it, and they mentioned that it resonated with them in a way they hadn't felt before with a piece of writing, and like? I won't lie. I cried. It blew me away that something I wrote, even something that simple, was able to connect with someone. So the fic is nowhere near my best, yeah, but I'm never going to delete it.

This week so few people have uploaded, one might think there's been an apocalypse! But that was more last season’s vibe; perhaps we’ll have something funnier than the end of the world this time. Welcome to the New Year with Empires!

Even during the holidays, the grind never stops.
Pixlriffs has spent time on the Hermitcraft server gifting VintageBeef a proper nether tunnel for his card game factory - what better for the man making giant pixel art cards of everyone than pixel art of his own face?
At the Empires village - still on Hermitcraft - Pix has also been finishing up Santa's workshop, complete with a randomly flooded closet and an armor stand assembly line. It's the perfect place to put his new Zedvancement trophy as well, since he doesn't really have a house to put it in around here. He's been too busy speedrunning other advancements of the non-Zed kind; 27 of them in a three-hour stream!
[PIX] …only now-- Scar! I'm trying to do a bit to camera right now!
[NARRATOR] Speaking of festive, several of the Hermits and Emperors meet up around a holiday bonfire to swap stories and impressions and whatever bad idea Oli has next. Grian stops by, confused that they didn't get the memo. What memo?

The Emperors head back through the portal, one by one by one. As lovely as Hermitcraft is, it isn't home.

Finally back on Empires, Pix meets up with Oli, which is incredibly convenient - Pix is his secret santa! His gift is more of a responsibility: any time Oli needs rockets, Pix will provide them. How he gets the gunpowder without his own farm will be the second part of the gift: chaos.

Meanwhile, crossing through the Rift once more leaves Sausage stranded in limbo. Thankfully, his girl Bubbles gets him out, and dumps him in the nexus village. He ponders his newfound memories, and promises Bubbles not to tell anybody.
He checks the Rift to make sure it doesn't link back to Hermitcraft, and immediately turns around and robs the Tower. It is perfectly ethical.
Feeling bad for Grumbot, he takes his target block, and places it in the L.O.R.E building. It's his last time, so he changes back into his regular outfit.
He gets to work on a lab to house his new son, Sunny, a robot designed to communicate through dimensions. After putting him on charge on a definitely-not-a-shrine, he sends a message though to Pearl on the Hermitcraft side.
Family bonding time begins when Sausage brings Hermes, Bubbles and Athena to meet Sunny, who's wheeled himself outside. A message from Pearl comes in while he's away, but it sounds like she is doing pretty good.
Scott
Chromia is looking quite different to how Scott left it, and it’s all down to one llama-human - Owen.
Owen is apparently back to human form and has taken over Chromia as Mayor while Scott’s been away.
He’s claimed Pearl’s house for his own and the other llamas have followed suit, apparently claiming the other buildings including Scott’s house. The mayor is a strict ruler if you’re not a llama, boarding up the villagers into their houses and drags Scott into forceful service as the Chromia Wheat Farmer - quite a bit of a demotion there.
[SCOTT] …else have you?
[OWEN] Not yet!
[SCOTT] Yet?
[OWEN] Yeah, oh look at this rapscallion! He has to stay in here ever since the charges.
[NARRATOR] Owen tries to kick him out, before Scott convinces him to follow him through the nether portal to Hermitopia where they have loads of sugar - Owen is not impressed, until Scott turns the sugarcane into sugar. Seems llamas haven’t figured out doors OR crafting recipes.
[OWEN] …power?
[SCOTT] Sure, yep, that’s it.
[OWEN] Some people, like, make the laws, some people are literal gods, and you… make sugar!
[NARRATOR] During the exploration, Owen gets caught on fire but denies it ever happened, and claims to have built the llama statue on the Greatbridge.
Night comes and with it comes a thunderstorm, and Owen is consistently scared of the loud thunder happening - the sky is angry, and Owen is a menace.
Scott tries to convince Owen to let him stay, and Owen makes him drink spit in the tavern and replant the wheat fields before he agrees to any changes in the newly-renamed “llama land”.
The demands are “more wheat, more sugar, no doors” which probably isn’t the weirdest thing a “Mayor” could’ve asked for but it’s certainly up there.
Eventually, Owen agrees to put Scott back in charge and go exploring like a proper adventurer, giving back the sheriff hat after a rousing speech.
Once Owen has left, Scott starts putting Chromia back to rights, and Owen… well…

[OWEN] O- Uh. Hey, can you help me with this? Hey! Can—Can you guys help me with this? Can you help me with this?

Die in the game, die in real life. A terrifying threat, but one that I was confident I would survive, because the game I was thrown into? Last Legend III. My favorite game of all time by a long shot, and one I had beaten literally a hundred times.
I love this game to the point of obsession, learned everything there was to know about it, completed countless challenge runs, even held a world record speedrun for a while. Every detail and system quirk and glitch, I knew it all. Beating the game without the main character dying? No problem.
See, of all the glitches and exploits in this game, one reigns supreme as the most game-breaking tactic of all: Sharpen stacking. Elewis, the healer of the party, has many buff spells that aren't balanced very well. The Sharpen spell that you get at level 5 boosts the whole party's attack power by x1.5 for the entire battle, turning basically any fight into a cakewalk. But the devs were really asleep at the wheel when programming it, because if you cast it multiple times, it stacks. Exponentially. Just 3 casts will more than triple your damage, and you can shred through the final boss in 5 turns.
So yeah. Aside from the ending, this was going to be a breeze.
But then I got to the first boss.
It's a possessed suit of armor, really basic, no tricks except a charge attack that doesn't even do enough to kill. I played through the fight just like I had a hundred times before, shouting the same commands to my party members that I was so used to selecting. "Ricon," I call to the mage, "another Thunder Bolt."
Ricon silently prepares another bolt.
I turn to the archer. "Alina, Triple Shot."
"Quit telling me what to do!" she complains, but whips out three arrows. I liked it better when I could turn on Manual Mode with a menu rather than with a conversation.
"Elewis, another Sharpen."
"A third? Are you sure we shouldn't-"
"Just do it, the faster we kill this thing the less chance it has to kill us." Taking my own advice, I rush forward and strike with a Rending Slash. 46 damage. Then Ricon's bolt strikes it. 63. I tested to make sure, and all the game's mechanics still work perfectly; every stat and value and calculation is perfectly predictable, just like the game. There's no interface, but that's not an issue since I've memorized everything. The boss only has 300 health left. It's over in 2 turns.
The Cursed Guardian attacks with just a basic slash on Elewis. She grits her teeth and clutches her wound. "I'm hit!"
With the armor I gave her, it's only 35 damage out of 100 health. "Don't worry, just cast another Sharpen." But before I can shout another round of commands, Ricon points at the boss's glowing sword.
"It's preparing something! We need to defend ourselves!" That line just gets more annoying every time I hear it.
"Don't worry, it's not strong enough to kill us. Just keep attacking!"
Ricon gives me a look, but follows my order and continues raining lightning on it. We keep up the damage, ripping through the armor in not-quite-record speed, but far faster than a casual playthrough. I would've loved to speedrun this, but I have to make sure Galeran- I mean, I never die. Only 79 health left as the Cursed Guardian brings its sword down on Elewis. I already did the math before the battle, it's only 49 da-
A flash of light and a scream startle me out of my thoughts as Elewis it sent flying, falling to the ground... and staying there. Woops, a critical hit. Oh well, I doubt we'll need another Sharpen-
"ELEWIS!!" Alina shouts. Sheesh, she's irritating.
"It's fine, we'll kill this thing and revive her back at town."
But Alina ignores me and runs toward Elewis with a phoenix down. Oh shoot, I didn't know they could turn on Auto-Battle themselves like that. That could really screw things up. But fortunately, Ricon and I are able to finish off the armor without her. I feel the relief as the battle ends, and an energizing surge of strength from the level up. Now to head back and revive-
"Guys, something's wrong!" Alina shouts.
Ricon runs over, and I sigh and follow him. Alina kneels over Elewis, fumbling in her bag for a phoenix down. "No, don't waste that here, we can revive her for cheaper at the town-"
But she ignores me and presses the feather to Elewis' chest. It disappears, showering Elewis in a spiral of sparkling light... and nothing happens.
"I'm so sorry, I... This has never happened before," the priest says. "It's just... not working."
"What do you mean?" Ricon asks. "Is the wound too deep? Did that spirit's attack curse her body?"
"No, nothing seems to be wrong, it's just... the magic isn't working. I can't revive her."
"Why NOT!? Isn't that your JOB!?" Alina starts going on some stupid rant, I don't pay much attention. The others are all busy trying to figure out why this happened, how to revive her. But this is a simple realization for me.
This challenge makes ALL death permanent.
Still, I went along with them to every town we have access to, seeing if anyone could revive her, but it was futile.
We had lost Elewis forever.
The morning after the burial, I was desperately trying to re-plan my run. I've done a no-Elewis run before; with how broken she is with Sharpen and her buffs in general, it's a pretty popular challenge. And I've also done a deathless run. But both at once? This challenge just got a lot scarier. One roll of bad RNG, and everything could go wrong. And with how long fights will take without Sharpen, that's a lot of time for bad luck to come around... It's going to take a lot of planning, strategy, and perfect execution, but I think I can still-
"Galeran?" Ricon says, snapping me out of my thoughts. "I'm taking over as strategist."
"W-what? Why?"
Alina steps forward, jabbing a finger into my chest. "Because your stupid plan got my best friend KILLED!"
"What?! That's not my fault! I had no idea that resurrection would suddenly stop working!"
"Oh, so you were just going to have her briefly die. Because that's TOTALLY okay."
"I-it was bad luck! The chances of her getting hit twice and getting a cri- getting hit that hard were one in a hundred! You can't blame me for that!"
Ricon glares at me. "An ally was wounded while the enemy was preparing a powerful attack, and you told her not to heal, not to defend, but to cast Sharpen. Going forward, with resurrection no longer functioning, I believe we need a tactician that's less..." He pauses, trying to find a polite way to say 'stupid'. "... reckless."
Reckless? RECKLESS?! I've beaten this game at level 1! Do you have any idea how much caution that takes!? "This is ridiculous, I'm the leader! You need to follow my orders!"
"The only thing we need is your ability to wield the sacred sword. I suppose I can't force you to follow my lead, but we will not be taking orders from you any longer."
Oh no. Oh no no no, this is the worst-case scenario. The auto-battle AI is absolute trash, and without Elewis to keep them alive, this is about to become a solo-Galeran deathless run! Even the world-record speedrun for the solo-Galeran category includes reloads to deal with bad RNG! "No, no no, that is a terrible idea, you NEED to listen to me!"
"And why is THAT?!" snaps Alina.
Damn it, why can't they see how smart I am! "Because I know everything!"
Alina and Ricon exchange glances, then frown at me.
Oh geez, they hate me now. I'll never convince them to follow my plans like this. Talking to people was never my strong suit, that's why I have thousands of hours in this game. "... Okay, I'm sorry. But please, is there anything I can do to make you trust me as a strategist?"
"Technically," Ricon says, "you can't 'make' someone trust you."
"And you could start by being a bit less selfish!" Alina says. "You always take the best armor for yourself, and any time you're hurt you take a potion, but when ELEWIS was WOUNDED, you told her to not worry!"
"But that's because..." Well shit, they wouldn't believe me about the challenge. And... well, they're kinda totally right. No wonder they hate me, I've been purely prioritizing my own safety... That's it. "Give me a second."
I sit down at a table and start calculating on some scratch paper. I learned Shield Bash after that boss fight, so I know I'm level 11 now. I've been tracking our exp of course, but just to make sure... "Alina, do you know how to poison your arrows yet?"
Her anger turns to confusion. "No? Why?"
Good, so she's at most level 14. I pick out a convenient equipment setup, run all the numbers... I stand up and hand Alina my starting wooden sword.
"What's this for?"
"Hit me."
She doesn't even hesitate. 9 damage.
Ricon stares at us in shock. "What in the world are you..."
"Ricon, how many times would it take for Alina to hit me with that before I die?"
"Are you insane?!"
I turn back to Alina. "Hit me."
I grit my teeth as her strike connects. 9 more.
"Ricon. How many more can I survive?"
"What in the... I don't know, five?"
"Alina, six more times."
Alina grins and delivers a third strike. "I think I like this strategy." A fourth strike.
I endure it as best I can. "I know exactly how strong that sword is."
*WHACK*
"And my armor, too."
*WHACK*
I lose my footing for a moment, but stay standing. "And I've been tracking how strong-"
*WHACK*
"E-each of us are getting..."
*WHACK*
I fall backward onto the ground, but fortunately, there's no fall damage in this game.
"Stop, stop you idiots!" Ricon shouts. "He might be a selfish, arrogant fool, but if he dies there will be no one to wield the sacred sword!"
Alina sighs. "I hate it when you're right."
"A-another..." I say. It was only 8 hits. 72 damage.
"Seriously?" Alina shrugs. "Okay." *WHACK* 81.
I catch my breath. I don't think I can even stand like this. "I-I admit, I was reckless during that fight... I wasn't taking it seriously enough... I thought it wouldn't matter as long as we won..."
"But it would've mattered if YOU died, right?"
"Another..."
*WHACK* 90.
"I-I know... every monster... every spell... I know exactly how much... it takes to kill each of us... Another-"
"STOP!" Ricon steps between Alina and I. "Is this some sort of chicken game?! If you're trying to prove that you're willing to risk your own life, you've made your point!"
"No, it's... the opposite... I don't take risks... If you let me lead... I promise I'll do better this time... Another..."
Alina stares at me. "You sure?"
I manage a nod.
She hesitates... but brings the sword down.
*WHACK*
Darkness clouds my vision. My entire body is screaming out in pain, and I can feel myself ready to slip away.
"... Wow," Alina says. "I'll admit, I'm impressed."
"... could someone... take me to bed... i need to be unconsciousness for 24 hours..."

#dear listeners#its not just homestuck i've been a huge fan of webcomics all my life#i was a huge fan of pokemon hard mode back in the day and i still really like a lot of comics inspired by it (and homestuck but i hadnt read#it at the time i read those ones)#uh the shit by ben saint has been amazing as always#although he hasn't updated anything i liked in AGES#vapors ch3 was kinda subpar of i'm being honest#if*#i haven't read any of slime and punishment if i'm being honest; i don't think it's really my style#honestly i'd love more vapors but it must be super emotionally intensive to write#though champion was always my favourite#it looked to be something with a huge amount of potential; id kill for another chapter hoenstly#oh and yeah i really liked speedrun while it was going even if it didn't last long#tbh i never got into spacecat#other than ben saint/nuz i never got into plot driven comics really#which is why i fricking love homestuck i think; it's the first webcomic i read that actually fucking finished???#i did read some nuzlocke spinoffs but i didn't get to far on most of them; they were really lacking the humour aspect#oh i read a bit of what hippo did but honestly i didn't really like them. they had way too much mystery way too early and the art style was#pretty bad if i'm being honest#i expect him to improve but it'll take a while#say what you want about hussie's art but at least it didn't look downright ugly#and fyi i really liked husnasty mode soooooo yeah

hello! this is my first time doing headcanons, and i just want to clarify some things:
sadly, i won't be doing requests because i'm busy af with school and i dont want to dissapoint anyone, but you can drop some suggestions and i would think about it! it would be really nice :)
also i won't be writing romantic headcanons for minors or those who are uncomfortable with it, but i can do platonic headcanons for them! ^^
i won't be doing nsfw headcanons either, because i'm uncomfy with sexualizing real people and just writing nsfw in general :)
also, please tell me if someone is uncomfortable with fanfics and/or headcanons and i will erase that part as fast as possible, thanks for passing by! - batling

i just have two words for this one: pure chaos
he will punch you with a pillow if you try to sleep
and you will be MAD at this
grabbing a pillow and hitting him RIGHT IN THE FACE with all your strenght
he'll probably fake cry about it, saying that you hurt him
after a while of pillow fighting, you guys got tired and plopped into the bed, snuggling into eachother and just enyoing the comfortable silence before drifting to sleep
♥ Wilbur
you two will probably blast hamilton and scream the lyrics till the neighbours wake up and you get angry knocks at your door
and you will laugh at that, lowering the speaker's volume and telling him to lower his voice aswell to avoid your neighbours calling the police
then you'll eat snacks and talk about anything that pops into your mind, laughing at the most silly jokes
he will sing sweet songs to you, making you fall asleep to his calming voice

you and her will bake pastries at a very late hour
she REALLY enjoys baking with you bc she thinks it's a great way to spend time with you
all this girl wants is to spend her time by your side, doing particularlly anything like streaming, baking, playing games and going outside for a walk and/or shopping
once you finished baking, she will kiss your cheek multiple times. that's her way to tell you that you did a great job :)
you'll spend the rest of the night cuddling, eating your pastries and watching some random movie, commenting about how bad it is and laughing

this bitch will speedrun the sleepover
is it possible to speedrun a sleepover? maybe
you'll spend the rest of the night probably playing uncharted 3: drake's deception in his old ps3
after a while, you guys got bored from uncharted and went to his pc to play amnesia: the dark descent
there are 2 options:
you will be scared as fuck and will avoid looking at the screen when you think something bad will happen or when some body will come out from a drawer
or you will be totally chill with it, laughing hard when clay pisses his pants for real when he encounters the gatherer
you named the gatherer 'bob' :)

he'll take you to the rooftop
and pushes you so you fall to your death
i mean
he gets blankets and pillows so you can stargaze together
he'll teach you the constelations while pointing them, excited about every single one of them

he'll have hot chocolate prepared too, so you don't get cold while stargazing
you try your best to not fall asleep on the rooftop
but eventually fail
when he notices you're asleep, he stops talking about the constellations and carries you to your bedroom, giving you a goodnight kiss and leaving you in your bed so you can have a peaceful rest

you will watch anime together
not any kind of anime, like that romance-comedy bullcrap

after that, you will share your letters and just snuggle and smile at the sweet things you guys wrote for eachother
he will deffo shower you with kisses when he finishes reading your letter, telling you that you're the nicest person on earth
and that he loves you so so much

i'm a huge fundy simp ok
he will bring his piano to your house and you guys will compose a melody together
he will let you sit on his lap while you play the piano/keyboard with him
fundy will basically teach you how to play basic piano songs
you asked him if you guys could play megalovania together
he said no :(
but still you got to play nice songs together without messing up
and when you got the hang of it, he snuggled his face in your neck and kissed you there genly
and when you got tired, he started playing very calming songs and you fell asleep in his lap, snuggling into his chest
he gently carried to your room and will sleep beside you putting a fair distance so you can have a comfortable sleep!
