if you would all allow me to be delusional for a moment - so i went back to staring Very Hard at the neighborhood map and. um. well. im chucking my marbles out the window! as always take all of this with a Hefty grain of salt!
i thought i saw a weird pixel in Frank's window so i zoomed in. then i took a screenshot, and fucked with the contrast/brightness settings. and uhhhhhh
UHHHHHH
FRANK??? HELLO???? HE'S IN THERE? i'm pretty sure im Not seeing things bc that is definitely a vague gray tube-outline with a yellow spot in the shape of Frank's nose. hidden in the dark. and i might be seeing things but in the pane next to his face it kinda looks like his hand is on the window? but! Frank's in there! what the fuck!
so naturally i slowly scrolled through the neighborhood Zoomed The Fuck In. obvi there's nothing in Home's eyes, and Barnaby's & Sally's single visible windows(?) are closed. I couldn't find any out-of-place pixels in Julie's or Poppy's.
but! Eddie's kinda freaked me out a little! look at this shit!
on the top left pane... are those fingerprints pressing into the glass? and in the lower left, is that a fucking Face peering out? a creepy ass face that almost looks like some sort of mask? there seems to be another Shape in the upper right... another face perhaps?
and then there's the weird window shine in the lower right (along with maybe Another face...). it almost looks like a string of letters. there isn't a single pattern/design like that anywhere else in the neighborhood. what's up with that....
oh and also, just went back to double check the post office's display window
there seems to be another face - all the way to the right in the darkness. judging by the shape of the paler (yellowish?) pixels between what must be eyes, i think that's Eddie. and i think i see ears and a hat... not sure though. this one is really tough to see but it's There
(side note: Eddie is totally fucked, isn't he? between the faces(?) and hands behind his door, Home sitting in his display, and the hyacinths by his building, the emphasis on his memory (or lack-thereof) in a project that is, in a sense, About memory... i'm concerned! and eating it tf up! hell yeah lets get funky!)
now i couldn't see any, like, concrete Faces or anything in Howdy's store. but! you can kinda see inside! observe~
in the big open window, you can kinda make out some sort of container on a counter and what might be shelves or a kind of brick pattern. and then above the 100% sign... hold on are those fuckign Eyes? lets take a look zoomed in & without the image adjustments!
yeah those uh. i think those are eyes. Wally-esque eyes peering out of the darkness. though they also mildly remind me of eyespots on insect wings. butterfly eyespots, perhaps. inch resting indeed...
WAIT I LIED!!! there DOES seem to be another string of letter-like symbols in the neighborhood, not just the post office's window shine. now it could be just a wild coincidence, but at the same time it seems kind of... purposeful. like that's not normal shading/coloring.
check out the blue window border on Howdy's Place, next to the apples. the lighter blue pixels seem Arranged. i think i see a clear N, and either an R or a P... along with some other symbols that i don't recognize as anything. the lower ones look kinda like faces? what could the top one be? is any of it anything or am i looking too hard?
in short: they're watching us watch them and there's way more to the map than initially meets the eye....
(edit: i've added a reblog w/ the images outlined! badly outlined but a clearer View of what i see nonetheless! + some notes on more little things outlining helped me notice)

Who did Hobie make watches for?
Going through the movie and pausing at every scene with Hobie to look for more details for the 100th time and I just wanted to share something I noticed:
We know that Hobie made a watch for Gwen but not everyone in the new spider-gang are wearing watches made by Hobie in the end as far as I can tell:
We see Pav wearing a watch, it's a bit hard to see in detail (especially since he isn't wearing one in his own dimension to compare it to) but I'm assuming that Hobie made this one since it doesn't look at smooth as the spider-society watches. Also:
Pav's watch doesn't appear to have the lines around it like Hobie's does when he's wearing his HQ watch.
It's kinda hard to tell if Noir is even wearing a watch due to his coat but since we didn't see him at the society when the other members of the old spider gang (Peter B. and Penni) showed up I'm assuming he maybe wasn't even part of the spider-society (or maybe he just didn't want to help stop Miles from preventing his canon event). So my guess is Hobie made a watch for him too.
Both Ham and Margo appear to be wearing HQ watches (which means that maybe Noir is too since Ham apparently was a member of HQ even though he didn't show up earlier so maybe it's the same with Noir, what do you guys think?)
This makes me wonder if Hobie didn't have the time/resources to make more watches since I feel like them wearing HQ watches might be a disadvantage as Miguel might be able to track them (though maybe Hobie has disabled the tracking in their watches, it wouldn't suprise me if that was the case.)
Hobie is obviously wearing a watch he made since he ditched his old one when he left HQ.
I honestly couldn't get a close enough look at Peni to tell which watch she's wearing lol.
Peter B appears to still be wearing his HQ watch but it's kinda hard to tell for sure, it just looks kinda smooth to me.
But a cute detail I noticed is that Hobie might have made a day-pass for MayDay! It could also just be the one from HQ BUT she's not wearing it in the scene where Gwen shows up:
(To the left we see that she's only wearing a bracelet when she's home, to the right we see her wearing a day-pass at spider HQ)
It could just be the lighting but it looks like the one she's wearing at the end is a lighter shade of blue than the one from HQ)
So until we're told otherwise I headcanon that Hobie made a special day-pass for MayDay (which is super adorable if you ask me <3)

I wonder if with the whole chimney and the potential of being captain and the leadership skills thing, they are gonna touch on the fact that potentially part of chimney being so hesitant about it (and judging himself too harshly) is because the one time he got to be Captain and take on that much responsibility, Eddie’s wife died AND a firetruck exploded and almost killed his pseudo-little-brother Buck and not even offering himself up was enough to safe Buck, and I’m pretty sure he felt super helpless each time and we actually do know that he was really harsh on himself especially over Shannon’s death (and also from the time Maddie wanted to do the homebirth we know he has anxiety over being helpless/feeling like he wasn’t enough to help/safe someone)! so! I wanna see that maybe brought up, I would really really love that <3

ok I don't think we as a fandom talk about the way Vash cries blood enough
we only see it once or twice from what I remember, the one definite time being here ^ when the puppet attack first begins & he's dealing with the emotional agony of seeing so many of his family turn into puppets.
so it's clearly something that comes out only when he's in severe emotional distress.
the interesting thing is that Wolfwood is fucking TERRIFIED of him bc of it.
whatever this moment is, Vash is giving off the same sort of oppressive energy that Wolfwood's experienced with Knives. it's the first time during their travels that he's really been forced to recognize What Vash Is. he knew it of course, saw him in Jeneora, but he's such a goofy guy it's easy to forget.
but whatever Vash is doing here, it makes Wolfwood Incredibly aware of what he is.
so the real question i think is What exactly is going on here? is it unintentional? is it simply a response to the emotional agony?
Vash isn't the type to indiscriminately terrify everyone in the vicinity on purpose. he wouldn't be doing this purposefully out of anger while Wolfwood's there. no, in this moment, he's not even angry at all. he's Distraught.
going from This
to this
in just a moment.
yeah. that's some fucking emotional agony. i dont think Vash is doing this entirely on purpose.
but THEN...
as both Leonof and Wolfwood stare at him in fear, Both feeling his oppressive energy, Vash then lets out some sort of blast that blows against everything between him and Leonof. it doesn't destroy anything, doesn't even injure him, but it's a physically tangible effect that scares the Shit out of Leonof & spurs him into motion.
there may be some anger involved in this moment, but it's not the hair-trigger rage you would expect from seeing his family turned into puppets. it's something Quiet, something almost cold. he's distraught, Resigned, & retaliating just because he has to.
Vash hates all of this. he doesn't want to fight him. he fucking Knows this guy too, knew him as a kid, & none of this makes sense. but he knows that he needs to fight him, & doesn't have any kind of choice.
but he's not happy about it. not in the slightest.

it's time we discussed a h2o reboot. like a full-on reboot, not a continuation nor a prequel of the original series, or a supposedly in-universe spin-off like mako mermaids
we definitely need more diversity race-wise since the original series is startlingly white. we definitely also need lgbt representation, maybe if two characters in the new mermaid trio had powers like rikki and emma they could have a canon relationship? or perhaps the lewis-type science geek in this version of events could be the girlfriend to this universe's cleo. obvi less misogynistic undertones in the writing is a must (see: the treatment of literally any female character other than emma, rikki, cleo, and bella h2o just add water)
at the risk of making the series needlessly gritty, delving into the darker aspects of canon could be a fun time. in the og series we have hiding secrets from family, kidnapping, grooming metaphors, fantasy violence, half a dozen near-death experiences, and allusions to mental ill health that could be further expanded upon in a reboot. i do feel like it would be near impossible to go through everything the merms do in the original series without ending up traumatised, so as a fellow mentally ill girlie i would like to see it!!
other than that, more explanation surrounding the lore could be cute. perhaps the new merms search the oceans for more moon pools, or stumble upon other mermaids. perhaps we could learn about different powers, how many generations of mermaids there are, delve more into the astronomy of it all with different lunar cycles impacting the merms in different ways. of course over-explaining the lore can take the magic out of it, but if done correctly it could be fun to explore
i'm really scratching my head trying to figure out how the og series could be improved upon in a hypothetical reboot so any and all suggestions are welcome!!!!

Out of all of the MANY missed opportunities and shit in the Ahsoka show, I think one of the biggest was not exploring the really unique time period that the galaxy is in at all.
Like, think about it. The Ahsoka series takes place in ~10 ABY. The Rebellion is gone. The Galactic Civil War is over. The New Republic has established itself. The last Imperial remnants have been driven all the way out into the Outer Rim. People are rebuilding. The First Order and Imperial resurgence is still pretty far off.
The galaxy in Ahsoka is about as peaceful as it ever gets in the main timeline. And they do nothing with it.
What does peace feel like for Ahsoka, who was forced to fight literally every war in the past ~35 years just for being force-sensitive? (Drafted into the Clone Wars, fighting for survival during the Imperial and Rebellion Years, probably returning to the fight in the Civil War because she’s one of the last Jedi/trained force-sensitives) How does she deal with not having a fight she needs to help with? How does she move on from an entire life of exhausting, terrifying war? How does she look at the Jedi coming back, knowing that they’ll never be the Order she chose to leave at 16? Does she want to come back, but not know how? Is she afraid of returning because she knows that there’s no one left to recognize her?
What about Hera, who dedicated her entire life to a war that’s won? The ongoing struggle that defined her childhood, her teenage years, the first two decades of her adulthood is… over. The Republic she fought for, the Republic she gave everything to restore, is restored. How does she adjust to serving in peace? Does the reality of the New Republic compare to the ideal she did it all for? How does she look back on a whole life as a soldier, knowing that it can be over now, if she wants it to be? Is she even able to accept that it’s over, or is she constantly looking for the next threat, the hidden, upcoming war?
And Sabine, who sacrificed her teenage years to the Rebellion, probably her 20s to the Civil War, how does she deal with living on a Lothal that’s long since moved past the need for a protector, in a galaxy that’s completely unrecognizable without a battle to fight? Does she look back at the Rebellion, the Rebels years, as the good old days? Does the rest of her life feel empty and dull without the constant rush of a desperate, uphill war? How does she reconcile a New Republic without Mandalore? How does she feel about the future she always envisioned missing the people she rebelled for in the first place?
But no, Felony was like: Ahsoka sad :( and unemotional bc Vader. Hera smart and 💯% justified about Thrawn. Everyone else just stupid and hates her. Sabine conflicted bc Not Jedi & misses Ezra. Whole family dead 💀 but let’s not focus on that.
Like, come on.

After this week's episodes I'm pretty confident placing my bet on who Clone X is...
SPOILERS AHEAD
I really didn't want to believe this theory, but I think it's VERY likely to be
Cody
Firstly, this is the first time this season that we've been reunited with Rex, AND our first time reunited with Wolffe since TCW, AND Rex and Wolffe being reunited.
Since this is also the grand debut of Clone X, it would be fitting thematically for him to be Cody (another prominent clone from the Clone Wars, and another friend of Rex's).
Secondly, in these episodes there were subtle callbacks to S2E3: The Solitary Clone, in which Crosshair and Cody teamed up on a mission for the Empire:
Crosshair and Clone X were shooting at each other down the staircase of a tower. In S2E3, the two of them are fighting their way up a staircase of a tower.
Knife-fighting. Who else besides Hunter have we seen fighting with a knife on this show? Cody, when he was fighting droids with Crosshair in S2E3. Not to mention that Cody used his knife to save Crosshair's life in that episode.
What Clone X says to Crosshair: "You had your chance to be one of us. You chose the wrong side." What are the last words Cody said onscreen, and to Crosshair? "We make our own decisions, our own choices. And we have to live with them, too."
There hasn't been any follow-up yet on what happened to Cody after S2E3, and I really don't think that's a coincidence. They were setting his character up for something to come, and I doubt it's for a happy ending.
Why I Don't Think Clone X is Tech:
Crosshair explained that he was resistant to the reconditioning, likely because he's too defective. Surely Tech would be, too? (Remember also that Tech was extremely resistant to the inhibitor chip's effects. Crosshair was the most susceptible to it. It would be logical for Tech would be just as, if not more resistant to other forms of mental conditioning for clones, too.)
If Tech also was taken to Tantiss to and trained to become a clone assassin, it's likely Crosshair would've seen him there. (Consider that both Clone X and the other captured assassin seemed to recognize Crosshair by face, so it's a reasonable assumption that Crosshair was there for a while, and these recruits all had face-to-face contact with each other.) If Crosshair knows that Tech is alive and also an imperial assassin, it wouldn't make sense for him to withhold that vital information, considering that he is trying to prove his loyalty and trustworthiness.

The difference between N’s “I would never want to hurt you.” and M’s “I would never hurt you.” is so indicative of their routes. N always knows there’s a possibility but they would never ever intent or want to hurt MC in anyway, but they’re scared and have to protect them. For M it’s not even a possibility, how could they ever harm this person they care so much for it doesn’t even cross their mind that they might hurt them.
Hello, friend! Thank you for this ask!
This is why I love discussing N and M together, they’re so different, of course, but I have always thought they complemented each other so well, balancing out UB and each other
And to add even more to this, it is N that Rebecca specifically tells not their child - which, in book two, seemed so strange. Great foreshadowing to what we later find out which is -
N, who has been so friendly from the beginning, kind and caring, understanding. All of this so genuine, too. And them being in love is so beautiful but also so fraught for them. We know that they know they are capable of something, something that can and might hurt, and something they work so hard to contain. And they can contain, they have - but with them desiring the detective’s blood, and seeing how they are purposely rationed with enough blood to give them energy (speculated) - and I wonder if they feel they’ll lose control or that they’ll have to eventually tell / warn the detective and be judged for what they’ve done / what they can do
And hurting the detective, they would rather hurt themselves … would be the worst thing they can imagine doing.
(I don’t see them ever doing it, their love for the detective is stronger than any other force, but they worry, and they will do whatever they have to do while allowing the love to grow between them)
Then there is M, who was sort of less-than-welcoming at first (‘don’t act like you’re part of the team you’re not’) and watching them fall into being with the detective, and what that means, it’s so subtle, it’s so unspoken and like - no, absolutely there is no need to even think of them hurting the detective. They’re loyal to them, they’ll protect them, they won’t hurt them
It’s really a beautiful thing to see because - exactly what you said - can’t even imagine it
Now! That being said, I am so curious what will happen if M remembers again (the effects of the ritual fades and hasn’t been done again and it’s too late to get Chana in), and/or if they can’t get their crystal maintained
They each care so much about who they are with, and the idea of hurt is sort of the opposite of one might initially expect

combing through the website and my notes while i write wally's character sheet and it's interesting but also so so so sick how like. clown has spoken a couple times in the past about how wally considers himself pretty. like he thinks he's so handsome and gorgeous and he likes mirrors because they let him look at himself and then you look at the site and you Do see some of that - but you also see shit like this image:
that was in response to someone on page 6 of the guestbook telling wally that he and his friends seemed like wonderful people and it's positioned so that it looks like it's supposed to be him crossing out his name and leaving the rest of the message as is. bitch what is WRONG. TELL ME!!!

Some of my thoughts on the nightcat trailer but this is more or less what I think is going on... A mass ecological shift is happening with the increasing failing of iterators, and in particular the local collapse of a huge, rot-infected super-organism has spread the rot to a wider environment where it hasn't quite died off without the support of his living system- a process that takes time. Downpour, while I think won't be directly connected to this DLC in terms of story implied that rot cysts eventually shift into the weaker brother long legs, before dying off completely. With pebbles completely infested at time of collapse, a lot of rot has been suddenly dropped into the surrounding ecosystem underneath him along with heavy atmospheric shifts.
The entire area is more or less in disarray as things struggle to adapt to the rapid changes, with the Watcher potentially being forced out of the Moon/Pebbles locale in search of more stable environments. Given the role iterators had in shaping the locale weather, I'm imagining maybe longer rain cycles with overcast/nighttime period. Maybe weather events like thunderstorms? Base game Rain World had a big focus on survival in reclaimed urban environment, so it could be cool to explore the other aspect of rapid development- The fallout when it changes the world faster than creatures in it can evolve.

Not sure if this theory makes any sense at all but I'm starting to believe that there's no time skip between Wally's phone calls and what we see/hear in the show's Media/Merchandise. If we see the Toyland call being made before the Homewarming episode then it would make sense that Wally's expecting Barnaby to come over soon. As well as the Homewarming sketch from the prior update. (I don't know, still kind of brainstorming this perspective)
that theory Does make sense and i've been considering it! the "timeline" is such a nebulous thing right now because we still... don't really know! there are too many variables and too many Maybes for any solid answer.
maybe the reality that the neighbors live in exists outside of time like you say, and like half of me suspects. there's so much reality fuckery already present, but I'm also... unsure of how much merit this holds given what we know / can infer about how time passes in Home. i'm putting this theory on a low shelf to look at but not prioritize
maybe it really has been 50 years, and Barnaby is either still around / Wally is still in contact with him, or Barnaby... isn't there. who knows, maybe Wally was just verbalizing some Wishful Thinking. i mean, Wally is a bit of an unreliable narrator, isn't he? we can't assume that everything he says is entirely accurate or truthful. and i mean, if it's been 50 years it makes sense that Wally would be pushing for connection / to revive WH. who knows how long he's been trying.
hm... i mean. it could be a mix of that and the Outside Of Time theory. who knows, maybe W is receiving calls from different points in the timeline - Wally may have started out just calling, and has just graduated to invading the WH website / getting pushy with the envelopes and media that's been sent to the WHRP. maybe Wally got tired of waiting for W to respond before W was even born. who's to say!
