“Love God by Loving Others” 4/14/2024 Written by Elisa Morgan for “Our Daily Bread”
If you're a redeemed, "born again" child of God, you have been called out of this world of sin and shame, to follow Jesus's 2 most important Commandments !!
Matthew 22:36-40... “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” (NKJV)
We are called to love everyone around us, even our enemies, as Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5:43-44... BUT...you just can't love someone screaming in your face unless you are indwelt with the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit... The Holy Spirit will urge you to do everything with the eyes of Jesus so that all that you say and do will bring honor and glory to God !!!
And when you live a "Spirit-filled", "Christ-centered" life, submitting to the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit...you WILL be BLESSED BEYOND BELIEF, when you are living in God's PERFECT WILL designed by God just for you to follow !! And since God doesn't make any mistakes, why wouldn't you allow God to direct you down His perfect path for your life ??
Proverbs 3:5-6... Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6  In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. (NKJV)
Not yet a "born again" Christian ?? Not 100% sure you will be going to heaven when you die ?? You absolutely CAN be sure you are heaven-bound when you are "born again" by God above... Open the P.S. below, and seek Jesus Christ to become your personal Lord and Savior before it’s too late...
Read this post by Elisa, "Love God by Loving Others", to learn more about loving the Lord Himself, as you help those around you in need !!
 Blessings in Christ, bruce

Trusting God
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7
READ Psalm 20
LISTEN ONLINE
I needed two medications urgently. One was for my mum’s allergies and the other for my niece’s eczema. Their discomfort was worsening, but the medicines were no longer available in pharmacies. Desperate and helpless, I prayed repeatedly, Lord, please help them.
Weeks later, their conditions became manageable. God seemed to be saying: “There are times when I use medicines to heal. But medicines don’t have the final say; I do. Don’t place your trust in them, but in Me.”
In Psalm 20, King David took comfort in God’s trustworthiness. The Israelites had a powerful army, but they knew that their biggest strength came from “the name of the Lord” (v. 7). They placed their trust in God’s name—in who He is, His unchanging character and His unfailing promises. They held on to the truth that He who is sovereign and powerful over all situations would hear their prayers and deliver them from their enemies (v. 6).
While God may use the resources of this world to help us, ultimately, victory over our problems comes from Him. Whether He gives us a resolution or the grace to endure, we can trust that He’ll be to us all that He says He is. We don’t have to be overwhelmed by our troubles, but we can face them with His hope and peace.

REFLECT & PRAY
In your personal battles, where or in what do you place your trust? How might trusting in God’s name change the way you cope with these challenges?
Heavenly Father, give me the courage to trust in You. Help me to believe that You’re all that You promise to be.
Rest in the comfort and strength of God’s name each night by listening to the Our Daily Bread Evening Meditations at odb.org/ukpodcasts
SCRIPTURE INSIGHT
A careful reading reveals that Psalms 20 and 21 are related. Psalm 20 is a prayer for the protection (vv. 1–2) and victory of the king, God’s anointed (vv. 6, 9). The prayer of the psalmist, “Lord, give victory to the king! Answer us when we call!” (v. 9) is shown to be answered in Psalm 21. There, in a more direct way, the writer talks to God about His dealings with the king (vv. 1–7) and his enemies (vv. 8–12). The idea of trusting in God (20:7) is reiterated in 21:7: “For the king trusts in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken.” Psalm 20 closes with petition and Psalm 21 with praise: “Be exalted in your strength, Lord; we will sing and praise your might” (v. 13).

OUR DAILY BREAD 17 April 2023 MINISTRIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL
MESSAGE: When our congregation built our first building, people wrote thankful reminders on the wall studs and concrete floors before the interior of the building was finished. Pull back the drywall from the studs and you’ll find them there. Verse after verse from Scripture, written beside prayers of praise like “You are so good!” We left them there as a witness to future generations that regardless of our challenges, God had been kind and taken care of us. We need to remember what God has done for us and tell others about it. Isaiah exemplified this when he wrote, “I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us” (Isaiah 63:7). Later, the prophet also recounts God’s compassion for His people throughout history, even telling how “in all their distress he too was distressed” (v. 9). But if you keep reading the chapter, you’ll notice Israel is again in a time of trouble, and the prophet longs for God’s intervention. Remembering God’s past kindnesses helps when times are hard. Challenging seasons come and go, but His faithful character never changes. As we turn to Him with grateful hearts in remembrance of all He’s done, we discover afresh that He’s always worthy of our praise. “Fruitful Believers in Christ” 3/28/2024 Written by Mike Wittmer for “Our Daily Bread”
There are 9 fruit of the Spirit that the apostle Paul pens in the following scripture...
Galatians 5:22-23... But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (ESV)
My friends, these fruit are produced in the life of a redeemed, "born again" child of God... BUT (and there is always a BUT), when God is NOT FIRST in the life of the believer...the Holy Spirit will sit back and let them live their lives under their own mortal power... :-(
You see, sin (in this case, the sin of omission- James 4:17), cannot exist in the heart of the "born again" believer, along with the Holy Spirit...
The Holy Spirit will urge the sinning believer to confess, repent, and turn from any known sins [1 John 1:9], to again be made righteous in God's eyes... Failure to turn back to God, asking for His forgiveness may result in God chastising the sinning, redeemed child of God...until they put God first again in their lives... You can read about God's chastising in Hebrews 12:6-11 at this link-
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=heb+12%3A6-11&version=NKJV
With God first again in the life of the believer, they will be "Spirit-filled" and then God will bless them by rewarding those who diligently seek Him...
Hebrews 11:6... But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (NKJV)
And when the "Spirit-filled" child of God lives in the PERFECT WILL of God, they WILL be blessed BEYOND BELIEF because God doesn't make any mistakes !!
