angel: tea, probably iced

nova: coffee, and their order is something that makes the barista roll their eyes a little bit

cecil: coffee, and he just drinks it black

angel: angel's not as super into music as like, nova and briar are, but they like it as much as anyone. theyre not the biggest fan of concerts, so many people in one place is always going to be intimidating for them, but they enjoy going to them every now and then. unsure what exactly their music taste is - the crane wives, hozier, that sorta vibe probably

nova: nova's an obnoxious rave kid. so yes, live shows, and yes. i mean their playlists arent super specific or meticulous or anything, they just sort things by Vibe, but still. their taste trends towards the obscure & experimental, and i am unable to elaborate beyond that

cecil: i think cecil would rather die than ever step foot near a concert - going to one might actually kill him. and i dont think he's a huge music person in general? he gives me the vibes of someone who exclusively listens to one band, but i have no idea what that band would be

♟️ PAWN: Do they like board games or games of strategy?

angel: they loved family game night as a kid, and the tradition will continue until the day they die. so yes! theyre definitely a more cooperative strategist than a ruthless one, in games and as an MIV, but they win more often than not. but for them its less about the game itself or winning and more about the time spent with their friends and loved ones along the way

nova: they dont have the patience for em! they'll play half a game of monopoly, start blatantly & shamelessly cheating, and then quit before the game's finished cause they got bored. they're good enough at them, they just lack the attention span

cecil: oh absolutely. board games of all sorts, grand strategy video games like the type paradox interactive makes, chess, all that. massive nerd . he prefers video games over board games at this point, but thats just because he can't find anyone to play with him anymore - sally quit after a few games of her getting absolutely curb stomped, and playing with someone who can read his mind takes the fun out of it

💣 BOMB: What sets them off? Do they have a short temper?

briar: the answers here are very easy: "what doesnt set them off", and "yes absolutely". but seriously: their biggest berserk button is being lied to. or i guess more accurately feeling like they were lied to, lies of omission very much included. they can't lie to 10% of the population even if they wanted to, and even with the other 90% they're just terrible at it - they're unfailingly honest, despite their Everything, and they get very upset if others aren't the same. baby sally not immediately telling baby briar she was a ment made them very mad, and the same thing played out with kenzie (except, yknow, not really). any time their family says they love them? feels like theyre being lied to. and so on and so forth. they have no choice but to tell the truth with everyone, and it feels deeply unfair that others *do*

nova: nova is bitter and resentful about plenty of things, but they dont have much of a temper? they almost never get, like, yelling-in-your-face levels of angry. they really, really hate people giving up, though, themself included. being given up on by someone they love could also work for their broken heart answer. but like - they refuse to ever give up on anything. theyre as much of a stubborn idiot & determinator as any button. they do their damn best to Make An Effort of some kind, no matter how much they dont want to or how little they think it matters, and everyone else should too. they feel like their parents gave up on them, and that's a big source of their resentment

angel: angel has godly amounts of patience - they get annoyed and frustrated as much as anyone, sure, but them actually getting *angry* is a pretty rare occurrence. the biggest thing you could do to make them so is hurt someone they love. they will hunt you down to the ends of the earth and demand an explanation, an apology, *anything, you asshole*, and if its something bad enough (like, say, blowing up nick's office and almost killing him in the process), they won't ever forgive you. they're only slightly more forgiving when they themself are the only one hurt (unless youre hope, but even then forgiveness only came with so much therapy), but either way: doing something that hurts people and never truly making up for it will forever land you in the category of "bad person" in angel's mind, and their endless well of patience does not particularly extend to those people

cecil: cecil's too repressed and emotionally numb at this point to ever get properly Angry, but the closest he gets is if his intelligence + ability is doubted. he's Smart: this is one thing he knows about himself, and also one thing he likes about himself. he places a lot of stock in Being Smart, and he really hates having that denied or doubted because of his youth, inexperience, zero, or whatever else . he'll start arguing with you and he'll be pretentious enough about it that you apologize just to make him shut up

💔 BROKEN HEART: What would break their heart? What’s the worst thing a significant other or a close friend could do to them?

briar: as i said up there: lie to them. its why they were so disproportionately devastated with the kenzie ""reveal"" - they had some tiny sliver of hope with kenzie, and it was immediately crushed because they ""lied"" about ""not being a ment"". one of many reasons their relationship with hope is so bad & they refuse to talk to her is because they no longer trust her to be honest with them about how she feels. etc etc. being lied to makes them angry, but it also just makes them really deeply sad

nova: reject or invalidate them when theyre vulnerable. they go to great pains to Not be vulnerable - their humor and resentment both are shields of a sort. they try to make others (and themself) laugh, and if that doesnt work, at least they can be bitter and... act tough i guess is what im looking for there. be as resilient as everyone says they are - if theyre smiling, or if theyre angry, or failing both of those feeling nothing at all, no one and nothing can really hurt them. if they let themself be vulnerable and sad and weak around you: it's a gift, hope that they can trust you enough to put their armor down. and you have to handle it carefully. if you deny it, or mess up, they might not ever show that side of themself to you again

angel: not believe in them. their relationship with their parents is incredibly good, all sunshine and rainbows compared to the rest, but john & hope not supporting their enrollment at aeon really hurts. they know logically its just because their parents think it wouldnt be safe & want to protect them, same as any parent would - but they feel like they just dont believe in them (because of their zero), and that really, really stings . im not sure they really talk to their parents about it, more likely they just avoid the topic as much as they can

cecil: betraying his trust. like nova, vulnerability and real trust is a rare gift from him - though if he places that gift in the wrong hands, he's more upset with himself than anything. he'll be angry and upset with himself for ever being stupid enough to trust someone in the first place. just... sorrowful and self-flagellating about it until the end of time. decent chance he won't ever actually get over it: at best, he'll numb himself to the hurt, keep people even farther than arms length than he already did before, and keep going with his life

serious answer: i wanna say..... anger? the lesson he took away from the incident was "if we both had better control over our emotions (read: were more emotionally repressed), this wouldnt have happened", and. well. i'd say anger was the biggest emotion there. he doesnt view it as anything productive, anything worth feeling - he bottles any emotion up, no matter what, but i think real anger's something he won't let himself feel or think about at all, not even for a second. he at least sits with sadness or anxiety or whathaveyou for a moment before pushing it away (not that he really processes anything). that volcano's gotta erupt someday, though

(this does not apply to general feelings of irritation or annoyance - he very much feels those ghxbgh)

😨 fearful - when scared, do they go into "flight" or "fight"?

freeze! if he were to be mugged, i get the feeling he'd stare and say nothing until his would-be robber got fed up and left. less because he's at all that kind of brave, and more because he completely mentally checks out when threatened. not quite dissociation, probably, but he very much just... detaches himself from the situation and waits for it to be over, goes on autopilot

and i think there's a little bit of flight in there, too, if we're talking responses to stress/trauma in general and not just immediate fear. he tends to overwork himself as a way of hiding from his problems - he was always an overachiever, but took it to probably ridiculous lengths in highschool after the incident. intentionally stripped himself of all free time so there wasnt even a chance of him Experiencing An Emotion or Having A Thought

his music taste consists entirely of like, the mountain goats. he listens to nothing else. literally nothing else.

he's based most of his entire sense of identity and self worth on what other people think! he doesnt consider himself to have any real inherent value, or any that he does have is negated by his mind blindness - he's only worth anything if he's Smart and Useful and Professional and Able To Make Up For The Inconvenience His Existence Brings To Both Himself And Everyone Around Him

briar: answered here! (i'll try to remember to add the links later! im sleepy)

angel: i'm writing angel's last and god i cannot think of how to word it. they really do believe in love, and they really do want to find a perfect someone to spend the rest of their life with! which, like, they already have, gray is right there, but presently they're still working under the assumption that he doesn't feel the same, and even despite their "try to live without regrets" attitude they dont think it's worth telling him because they're pretty sure it'll make things weird between them and knowing for certain that he doesnt return their feelings would shatter their heart into a million tiny pieces even if they already think that's true (which it isn't), and it's one of the only things they're a pessimist about- i'm getting off track here. i'm stopping myself here! it's 3 am, sorry angel i love you, but i have no idea what i'm doing with this answer

kane: he's not opposed to it, but most of his past relationships have been... shallow and short-lived, is how i'll word that. (not that he lets it show, but) he doesnt have much experience with love or anything really romantic - that's probably part of the reason why glitch manages to sweep him off his feet so quickly lol. but before him, kane just wasnt the type for anything long-term and lovey-dovey! he just never thought about it all that much, and really he still doesnt (i don't think he's even fully aware of just how In Deep he is for glitch already after like... a week lol. hasn't hit him yet that he's very quickly falling in love - again, not opposed, just not used to it ghfbgh)

cecil: secretly kind of a romantic! it's not often at the forefront of his mind, nor is it something he's ever expected or even really wanted for himself, but he does enjoy it like... as a concept? i have no real idea how to explain it honestly (he's maaaaybe somewhere on the aro spectrum - it's a little difficult for me to draw the line between disinterest and like, straight up not feeling it (dunno if i worded that great), because im Very Allo. if he is, he's probably demiro or grayro!). once he's moved out of nick's house he starts reading cheesy but good romance novels lol - he'd be entirely too embarassed to do so while nick's constantly in brain range

zoey: she's been Deeply Yearning for sally for as long as she's ever cared about romance - i don't think she's ever really thought of it in relation to anyone else. she loves sally with her whole heart and soul, always has and always will, and that's it! that's kind of her entire concept of it! crushing on the same girl since you were like 12 will do that to you. she's capable of falling in love with other people, sure, but she doesnt really want to - she couldn't imagine herself with anyone else

angel: no! everything is chaos, and it's comforting in a way

kane: no! everything is chaos, and it's terrifying but (usually) fun

zoey: yes for luck, no for fate! having a predetermined destiny feels very bleak to her, even if that's... kind of something she believes herself to have (a less extreme version of briar's answer: "i'm going to cause problems my entire life")

his handwriting's pretty neat! more cursive than print, mostly legible even though he writes pretty quickly. probably something semi-adjacent to this (antro vectra, found on dafont):

he doesn't smile often, and when he does he doesn't really realize he's doing it - most often it'll be in response to some dumb joke he doesn't want to outwardly admit was funny. small, a little awkward, and usually doesn't last long.

favorite is autumn or winter! less in a "likes the cold" way and more in a "hates the heat" way. probably more autumn than winter - i feel like he'd hate snow. or at least just not care for it. least favorite is definitely summer - he can't dress in his usual layers without overheating, and always has a couple fans running when he's inside (which is... most of the time). i'm projecting i have two fans on right now

exactly the opposite - all of briar's mascara and eyeliner is the best waterproof brand they can find because they've cried it off way too many times
