To start, there shall be a trend in these ships that boils down to “brooder and comforter.” One half of the couple is a bit (or maybe a lot) down on themselves and their partner is the warm embrace they need in life. The dynamic will forever and always be beautiful to me, just as much as “two pure sweethearts.”

Obanai x Mitsuri

Makes sense and 1000% compelled by it.

Obviously Obanai and Mitsuri fit that to a tee! Obanai is very clearly a broody boy and he states outright that Mitsuri saved him with her cheerfulness and smile. But it would be a massive disservice to the ship to ignore that Obanai also was Mitsuri's comforter in a way. She felt the way that he looked at her with affection whenever they were together which meant the world to her since she felt like it would be hard to love. They never judged each other and felt loved with one another and AAAAHHHHH HADKJHFLKAUHEILTHALEKTHKAEJG!

I know I've brought this up in the past but it bears repeating that I love this ship so much that I managed to work it into a college paper about depictions of (failed) romance in Japanese literature. Because, well, in a sense Obanai and Mitsuri's love wasn't successful. Let me share a bit of that essay to get my point across.

This mutual but unrecognized love is best described by the chapter title revealing Obanai’s backstory. The Japanese title is “hitsūna renjō” (悲痛な恋情) which I would translate as “a painful, miserable romance.” Mitsuri and Obanai’s feelings of self-loathing make their love a painful burden on their hearts. Even their confession is ultimately tragic, as both are in tears and on the cusp of death when their feelings come out.

Then again, the cycle of reincarnation allowed that love to continue and be acted upon. Still, this ship makes me VIBRATE with all the emotions. It's so unfair that Gotoge was able to invest me in this romance with only brief snippets and a small reassuring epilogue. And then the fandom just hammers the stake deeper into my heart. ObaMitsu. Beloved ship~!

Jellal x Erza

OOOOHHHHHH! Man, it's been forever and a half since I really watched Fairy Tail but Jerza is that ship that sticks with you (and Gajevy but that wasn't the ship asked for, now was it).

So much sense is made with the ship and it'll never not compel me.

Again, Jellal is the more blatant brooder but Erza has plenty of moments of hitting low points (and it's usually over Jellal). And again, they both act as a source of hope in each other's lives. These two knew each other as kids and they made strong impressions on each other clearly. I mean, Jellal made some strong impressions on many people for a variety of not good reasons... ANYWAYS! It makes so much sense that Erza is always holding out hope for Jellal because his turn to darkness back in the day was very out of the blue so deep down in her heart, she'd know that something wasn't quite right. And even as she loves him, Erza expects Jellal to take responsibility for his actions. You talked about it yourself when discussing this ship but with Jerza, their personal feelings don't immediately mean Jella's sins/crimes can be ignored. He has to work to right them and fix himself. Jellal changes not because he's browbeaten into it but because he wants to be better for Erza. And Jellal isn't the only one changing. Erza is able to open up and let herself wish a little more because the trauma of their history is slowly being healed. Their love is such a journey. Multiple times they're pulled apart before finding each other again. And each time they meet, they heal a little more, grow a little closer.

Lumiere x Secre

I won't say as much about these two as the others but I'm still a sucker for them!

In this case, Secre is the brooding soul while Lumiere is her comfort. She looked down on herself and her magic while Lumiere saw potential and inspiration. Lumiere gave Secre something to hope for and she gave him devotion. The way Secre's love endures over the centuries and she remembers to have hope from Lumiere's example is something that makes their love really special without them ever having to be in a relationship. We don't get Lumiere's perspective on Secre directly but the fact that he named his super special magic tool (the big spherical one) after her says quite a bit to me. She's important and special and helpful in Lumiere's eyes. Secre living on while Lumiere moves onto the afterlife is sad but he wishes her more happiness in a continuing future, even without him. It's an ending of separation but not of mourning and it's beautiful (even if I wish Lumiere could've stuck around).

Henry x Lorelei

I actually did read the fic where they meet a bit ago. It's just in my queue for reblogging. But ooooooohhhhhhh! I CAN GUSH HERE!

So I will be real, there is one detail of the ship that doesn't make sense to me. But that's Tabata's fault for making it that even low mana people feel drained by an extended exposure to Henry's mana draining. It's just unfair that really no one but Asta can safely be around him with his curse in place. So it's not on you. You made every other aspect of the ship wonderful. Henry definitely would fall for someone as openly sweet as Lorelei and her sense of whimsy is a wonderful complement to Henry's loneliness. The way he so shyly begins to talk to her is so in character and I think adding Lorelei to Henry's backstory helps explain why he's easily able to just talk to Yami and later Asta since he now has experience meeting someone new. Lorelei's Lucky Magic seems interesting (and fits in with David's Dice Magic) and well, I think it brought luck to both her and Henry. And do I even need to say it but this ship got me hooked with one fic. It may need more time in the microwave before it finds a permanent spot in my heart but... I'm digging the vibes already.

Nacht x Josele

YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

I’ve talked Nacsele before for the ask game but I’m gonna talk again!

GAAAAHHHH! The way Nacht always loved Josele and was content(?) to simply love her from afar... Josele harboring her love for Nacht when she felt he didn't love her back... It gets so messy when she's with Morgen because he truly did make her happier than words could say. But half of Josele's heart was with Nacht. And when they finally get together, after much heartache and soul searching and doubting, it's gorgeous. Nacht is so hesitant about the relationship that he doesn't even call Josele his girlfriend for a while because he still sees Josele as Morgen's love. Josele too was hesitant, not wanting to risk her happiness being destroyed again, but once she got a talking to from one of the Bulls, she embraced the chance to be with Nacht and helps him with his steps into the future.

AND I LOVE THEIR FUTURE TOGETHER! Josele never really stops mourning Morgen and the future they could've had. But she doesn't lose sight of the future she's attained with Nacht. She loves Nacht and the way he's able to forgive himself. And Nacht accepts that Josele will always have Morgen in her heart, he really wouldn't have it any other way. Nacht slowly but surely frees himself of his guilt and self-loathing to full embrace all the affection that Josele always had for him.

My ship... I love...

The preposterous Pied Piper makes it’s heinous debut!

With an intimidatingly permanent jolly expression to it’s face and a constant knack for laughing and giggling, it’s no question why this meticulously designed specimen is quick to make others flee! But don’t be deceived by it’s raggedy, silly exterior! For inside this humanoid build is a great multitude of… rats! A seemingly hive mind of an entity, inside of this soft sentient shell is the internal makeup of countless vermin it commands! Like seriously. They’re nothing but rats inside it. It has no other make up inside. It’s just. Rats.

But deep down, this whimsical, giggly entity has a darker origin to it’s motive. That old Mother Goose— yes, the very one after our pregnant protagonist Einin— has piqued this entity’s interest to the max. Joined along a small band of it’s equally sadistic allies, The Pied Piper has set it’s sights for control of that beastly bird with quite the cult-like obsession. Why? Who knows! Perhaps recognized power, or maybe it seeks alliance to carry out more wicked deeds alongside each other? And Einin…? She’s the utmost perfect bait to allow them to get ahold of that creature… if bait means sacrifice, in this case.

It would pull just about any trick in the book to get exactly what it wants. With a trusty smoking pipe along side him that it blows an oddly wispy essence out, it can easily lure in just about whatever it wants if the mind is feeble enough to fall impressionable to the falsified truths they will whisper. To him, nothing dare stand in it’s way of it’s cultivated goal… not even a backstabber.

Vivvon and Laris did develop mutual crushes on each other, but Viv was outright denying it at first, since the two of them being in an alien gladiatorial troupe she was the unwilling co-host of there was the potential of Laris dying. However, Vivvon ends up hanging by her more and more, until she had started to do it unconsciously and it became hard for her to deny her feeling. Thankfully when she finally got the opportunity to finally escape, she was able to bring Laris along.

Ira used to think the world must be an awful place, given all the experiments the facility subjected him to.

He was always told the work they were doing, all the suffering he went through, was for the sake of helping people. So the world outside the sterile white walls must be suffering equally as much, if not more, than he was. It must be bland and colorless and full of pain, because that was all he knew. How could he think any different?

But then he escaped.

And the world was so much more colorful than he ever imagined. It was so green. And warm.

Yes, there was still pain, but there was also kindness. There was good food and sunshine and a comfortable bed and there was love. There was so much love.

Not quite niche, but Emma has had a special interest in birds for as long as he can remember. That interest went from her just trying to mimic the local birdsong to actually learning about taxonomy and identification.

She would not give a powerpoint presentation about it because it would be impossibly long because of how many fucking birds there are, and he Does Not Have The Stamina to give an impossibly long presentation

Hi! Saw your post about your fairy tail oc, was wondering what type of magic does she use :0

Okokkok so like technically I made it up but I based it off of Maker Magic and those sorts of spells in Fairy Tail.

Jillexan (my oc) uses Paper and Ink type magic, she leans towards maker spells (with paper it's akin to magic origami, knives, birds, etc.) While she does do some maker magic with her ink, it leans more towards water and poison style uses of magic, being able to down or block victims with physical attacks.

Her name is Jillexan Dreyar, aka she is Laxus's little sister and Guild Master Makarov's granddaughter, so I snatched a bit from their ability levels for her own strength level. I also snatched Laxus' ability to move by turning to lightning for short periods of time, and Jillexan can turn to ink to slide along the ground and dodge attacks. Unlike Juvia her body isn't permanently made of ink, but rather she can will it to become so in a fight or in a moment, so long as other magic doesn't block her from doing so (for example, I have a moment in which Fried uses an enchantment ahead of time that prevents her from using her magic, so she can't dissolve into ink).

How easily does your character give out second chances? Have they ever regretted giving someone a second chance? Why?

Oh! This is interesting!!

Mmmhh let me think.

For Abby it is very hard to give second chances. She has a really hard time trusting people, and if someone betrays her she won't trust them again. She will put a red cross on their face and never interact with them anymore. But she has a softer side for people from her family, really close family, Woods, David, Alice. If she had to give a second chance to one of them it would be hard, and it would need time, but she would definitely do it. She would try to stay cold and distant with them, but her heart would betray her and she would give in.

For Amara is similar to Abby, but maybe she would be a little bit softer. Give her a REALLY good reason and she will give you a second chance, but nothing would be like before. After what Sparrow did (I'm writing that part and I don't want to give spoilers 👀), Amara was sure she wouldn't give her a second chance, she wanted Sparrow out of her life. But after listening to Sparrow's story and reasons Amara gave her a second chance. In the beginning she thought she would regret it, that Sparrow would hurt her again, and felt a little bit reluctant, but time passed and Sparrow showed her that she could trust her again, even love her again, and Amara realised that she wouldn't regret it. Sometimes she thinks about what would happen if she never gave her a second chance.

Sparrow is very clear when to give a second chance and when not to. She has really good intuition, and she trusts it a lot. She knows when someone deserves a second chance. Usually, family and friends, she has a really soft spot for them. It's a really small circle but she knows them like the back of their hand, so she would forgive them quickly if they really deserve it. But with strangers it is very different, she won't give second chances that easily, maybe she would even give them at all.

I think that's all! I didn't know what character I should talk about so I talked about all my characters hahaha.

My Farmer OC, Julian, is generally kind by nature, and most often forgives offenders, believing that there is no point in wasting his nerves and strength. But to give a second chance depends on the situation.

Julian had practically no friends before moving to Stardew Valley. Those coworkers at Joja's company that he got to socialize with either ignored him or took advantage of him. This took a huge toll on his self-esteem, but luckily his parents' support and therapy helped him deal with toxic people. He forgave almost all offenses and let go of all past negativity, but became more cautious when meeting new ones.

There were times when Julian crossed paths with his old coworkers who were genuinely sorry for their actions, and Julian was able to forgive them because he saw genuine remorse. He can not call them super best friends now, of course, but still has friendly relations, sometimes chatting with them.

There was, however, a moment when he gave a chance to a man, a colleague from Joja, that he decided to take advantage of Julian again. Fortunately, the young Farmer recognized the manipulative behavior, and quickly and firmly ended the whole conversation. He's not their "old friend" - period. Fuck them (yes, Julian can swear).

If anyone tries to hurt him or any of Julian's family/close friends... Yoba help them, for there is nothing scarier than the rage of a kind and patient man. I don't think he can forgive this....

Ok so I've had a webcomic idea brewing in my head since spring of this year and now that I'm not dead anymore I'm finally posting about it!!!!

It's called the Primwood. It'll be a romance/slice of life that turns action later on. The whole thing takes inspiration from Celtic folklore (leaning Irish bc that's what I know most about) too! For example, all of the races in the Primwood, the Daomaine (duh-mih-nuh), are all either creatures directly from Celtic myth or inspired by something from it.

Anyways!! Time for our protagonist's intro!!

Say hello to the protagonist of this story, Eowyn Dunley (yo-win dunn-lee)! He's a fairy and pobl llwyd (based on the Welsh Brenin Llwyd) hybrid who didn't have the easiest childhood to say the VERY least. They're very curt and have a bit of a bad habit of distancing themself from others. He also works as an herbalist in the Primwood's capital city of Primsbrough, something he's been trying to do ever since he was a young teen.

What is the worst thing that has happened to your character? Why was this so horrible? How has this experience shaped their personality and actions?

there’s a lot that’s happened to Ekira that could be considered “the worst thing” in all honestly— being experimented and tortured on, receiving their back scar, their entire existence— but if they had to name one thing it was watching their mother get ripped away and killed directly in front of them.

It shaped them a lot in the sense that they were incredibly traumatized by it, but are trying to work through their trauma by being what their mother raised them to be— a kind person, and being kinder to themselves in the process. They’re also trying to get through life with a monster form they know nothing about but yknow. They’re trying!

Ever since I was a kid, I loved the idea of being a fairy...and it took me this long to realize that literally nothing is stopping me. So introducing Chrysie, my very blatant fairy self-insert (AND her little buddy Munch) :>

Please note that Chrysie is not a sona. I like to think of her as her own character, even though she’s essentially me in a fantasy setting. It feels more comfortable with some disconnection there, haha.

I created her entirely for fun and had a great time making a character that catered to the things I liked! So hopefully you’ll see more of her in the future.
