OC October day 8 - Parent

I'm skipping forward a few for this one. I've mentioned before that Cessalie's parents both passed away due to illness when she was very young, so I don't have much of a concept for them.

Today's warm up sketch is instead a concept I've had in mind for a little while that I'd like to come back & finish properly - a family portrait, painted some years after the events of Endwalker. The children don't have names yet, but the girl is a very serious little girl, with her father's blue eyes and a terminal case of resting angry face (inherited from her mother). The little boy has his mother's dark eyes, and is a very worried little lad.

I'd like to think they continue to commission Alphinaud for these paintings :3 He's quietly emotional about it every time.

I'm not gonna officially do any OCtober prompt list but I was thinking about Favorite OC and Oldest OC together! Here's Brent and Charlie! What's their deal? 🤔

Charlie is a character I had before anyone of the band OCs, even pre Izzy!!! His story, along with another character, Dani, was big and dramatic in a way that only a young teenager could think Adult Life (early 20s) would be like. Well. I didn't want to not have some of that backstory but look I have enough dramatic 20-something year olds now that had replaced their story. SO I've aged them up, the dramas in the past now, and Charlie and Dani are married with three children! They own and work at a little convenience store that used to be Dani's father's store. AND! Well. Brent is a clerk at a convenience store... Yeahhhh! The very same. :)

After I stopped using original Charlie and Dani, I sprinkled some of their character traits amongst other newer characters! One of these Charlie traits I gave to Brent, fear of blood! Yippee!!! The reason I wanted to draw this scene in particular, just thinkin if Brent gets a little boxcutter slice at work neither of them can handle it. Haha, Dani help haha! 😰 It gets handled, but the aftermath here, a little lollipop break! Charlie's quit smoking and all, but needs a stress relief break, you understand. Brent's just happy to have a lil treat! :3c

I was stuck on Day 4 for so long but that ended up being a good thing 'cause then this guy's game happened and he made A HELL OF A CHOICE so I knew who to do for this day! It doesn't depict much of the choice itself but rather the aftermath of his choice. :)
