It was Christmas finally, the holiday normally snuck up on you as you were always busy preparing for others. It was your first Christmas with your boyfriend, Elvis. You two had been only dating for a few months, but you were already madly in love with him. You didn’t have a ton of money, working at the diner in town that only paid you minimum wage and the tips weren’t all that great. You were losing your mind, attempting to try to figure out what you could give him this year. He already had things that he wanted and even more than the average man in America had, so you figured that you would make something homemade. He could never go wrong with something homemade, right? 

You spent a couple of weeks prior to the big day, getting materials for your gift. You would even tell Elvis that you couldn’t speak on the phone for long because you had “things” to do. Elvis could notice that your spirit had shifted, the look of dread prevalent on your features. “What’s the matter, baby?” You looked up at the man who hung the moon and the stars in your eyes, completely unaware that he could tell that you were a bit nervous. 

“I just see these gifts that your fans have given you and it just makes my gift seem mediocre.” Elvis grabbed his gift that you made for him, opening the wrapping paper that was tied together with only the best ribbon, seeing the shirt that you had made for him. “Is this why you wouldn’t stay up talking on the phone with me? Baby, this gift is incomparable to any gift that a fan could give. You made this yourself, right?” You nodded your head, running your fingers over his initials—tears falling down your cheeks as you awaited his final judgment. “Baby, I love it! I’m gonna wear it as much as possible.” 

You wiped the tears from your eyes, smiling widely as Elvis pulled you into his arms. You hugged him back with so much love in your heart that he absolutely adored your gift. “I might have to make you my personal seamstress, the skill that you have is god given, honey.” You swatted at the air, blushing behind the sentiment in his words. “Stop it, E. I just love making things for you.” Elvis pressed a kiss to your forehead as he stepped away from you and his family for a minute, returning shortly after but he had changed out of the outfit that he was wearing before. As time went on in your relationship, he kept true to his word—he wore your shirt as much as possible.

Zazu hates everyone without exception, but something that would definitely repel him from a potential romance is a messy and stupid person. My responses

1. I am a sympathetic person. Always true. I am very sensitive to others strong feelings. I don’t always agree with, or understand why someone feels the way they do, but I feel for them, and can relate to the feeling itself (even if it was another context for me.)

2. I often use words and phrases from movies and television in conversations. Yes. I’m obsessed with film, always have been. It’s an art form that is easily translated into every day situations.

3. I am often surprised when others tell me I have been rude. Sometimes I have done things people have gotten mad at or said is inappropriate. Less now as an adult, as I try really hard to learn from those situations. I hate when someone is mad at me.

4. Sometimes I talk too loudly or too softly, and I am not aware of it. I have been told I am too loud at times.

5. I often don't know how to act in social situations. Social situations aren’t inherently comfortable for me, but I have learned ways to cope.

6. I can 'put myself in other people's shoes.' Vividly. Empathy and understanding others so they feel less alone is a strong value of mine. I read lots of memoirs, articles, watch documentaries and films, listen to podcasts, and interact with others online so that I can have a deeper understanding of what it’s like to be someone who isn’t me.

7. I have a hard time figuring out what some phrases mean, like 'you are the apple of my eye.' If I haven’t heard it before, and there isn’t enough context. I’ve heard this specific phrase as long as I can remember, so I don’t think this is a good example. Usually I go off the tone of the situation and gloss past terms I am unaware of. Sometimes I find out it means something totally different, but it’s not usually a huge deal.

8. I only like to talk to people who share my special interests. This Q is difficult for me. I am very isolated these days, and barely talk to anyone besides my partner, and people in same communities as me online. So, I guess, yes? I have chosen not to seek out conversation with people who don’t share my interests.

It’s hard because I’m still learning what’s the difference between shared community (like neurodivergency, mental illness, disability - the communities I spend time in online,) and a special interest. Does it need to be more specific than that? My socializing has always centered around a specific interest. I have difficulty and disinterest in socializing if it’s not centered around the thing we have in common.

9. I focus on details rather than the overall idea. I get stuck on details, yes.

10. I always notice how food feels in my mouth. This is more important to me than how it tastes. This question sucks because yes, I always notice it, but Idk if it’s more important than how it tastes? Well, maybe it is, because thinking of examples, I love the flavor of apples, but if I bite into it and it’s dry, feeling like it’s sapping the moisture out of my mouth, I can hear the squeak on the peel, no I can’t do it.

11. I miss my best friends or family when we are apart for a long time. Kinda. I’m fine with having non-romantic relationships that are long distance. I’ve only met my best friend since childhood a few times in person and we still talk every day.

12. Sometimes I offend others by saying what I am thinking, even if I don't mean to. Yes, but again, I have learned to essentially rehearse what I say in my head before I say it, to avoid this. I keep a lot to myself.

13. I only like to think and talk about a few things that interest me. I have gotten obsessed with sooo many things over the years, so there are a lot of things that interest me. 28. It is very difficult for me to understand when someone is embarrassed or jealous. It can be hard for me to understand if someone doesn’t feel the same way as me in general, if it’s about something involving strong emotions.

29. Some ordinary textures that do not bother others feel very offensive when they touch my skin. Apparently so!

30. I get extremely upset when the way I like to do things is suddenly changed. I really don’t like last minute changes. I go over how to keep things running smoothly in my head, and do them a certain way for a reason. If there is a change, I need time to make adjustments.

31. I have never wanted or needed to have what other people call an 'intimate relationship.' I have always been obsessed with being in a relationship.

32. It is difficult for me to start and stop a conversation. I need to keep going until I am finished. Yeah if we don’t finish it now, just forget it. If there’s not gonna be time for the whole thing, let’s plan to talk at x-o’clock. This was a lot harder for me in my teens and 20s. I struggled with moving past an issue, it needed to be addressed immediately or I couldn’t move forward.

33. I speak with a normal rhythm. Never been told otherwise.

34. The same sound, color or texture can suddenly change from very sensitive to very dull. I don’t really understand this question, but I don’t think so.

64. How to make friends and socialize is a mystery to me. I know how to, I just don’t really want to. IRL, that is. Online friends are great bc they have way less expectations.

65. It calms me to spin around or to rock in a chair when I'm feeling stressed. Yes, rocking soothes me. I spin when I’m happy.

66. The phrase, 'He wears his heart on his sleeve,' does not make sense to me. It does because I looked it up online many years ago and relate to it. 

67. If I am in a place where there are many smells, textures to feel, noises or bright lights, I feel anxious or frightened. It depends. Some things are more tolerable than others, and I can often prepare myself with accommodations. Other than that, I can’t stand it.

68. I can tell when someone says one thing but means something else. Not always. I usually ask to clarify.

69. I like to be by myself as much as I can. Yes, it’s more interesting and less to worry about.

70. I keep my thoughts stacked in my memory like they are on filing cards, and I pick out the ones I need by looking through the stack and finding the right one (or another unique way). No filing card memory for me, and I don’t know what “another unique way” is. This question is going over my head.

71. The same sound sometimes seems very loud or very soft, even though I know it has not changed. The more over or understimulated I am, my senses adjust.

72. I enjoy spending time eating and talking with my family and friends. Yes as long as I can leave when I’m ready.

74. I don't like to be hugged or held. I love it when I consent to it.

75. When I go somewhere, I have to follow a familiar route or I can get very confused and upset. No, I trust GPS.

76. It is difficult to figure out what other people expect of me. Yes, expectations often don’t line up! I have grown to be very up front about this, and just ask out right, rather than deal with disappointment.

77. I like to have close friends. Not really. I like having my partner. Most friends I’ve tried to have have a different idea of what they want/expect out of a friend.

78. People tell me that I give too much detail. No one ever told me that, but I catch myself doing it now (constantly like, ok side note, sorry for the tangent!)

80. I tend to point out other people's mistakes. Yes until someone told me it hurt their feelings and I started noticing myself doing it. Now if I need to tell someone so that we can adjust for the future, I try to be a lot more tactful.

11. How do you come up with your fic titles?

Oh, it depends! Usually I try coming up with a title on my own that fits the story, if I can't come up with anything good I'll look around for a song title or a line in a song that fits!

14. Do you have a personal word minimum that you hold yourself too? Why or why not?

I try to have my chapters be at least around 4.5k words, but I won't stress too much if it ends up being 3k, I'll go with whatever feels best for the story! I used to stress about this a lot actually, but I've gotten loads better at realizing that it's not the length that matters, it's the quality of it that does😊

17. How obsessively do you sit and stare at your fic after you’ve just posted and wait for feedback?

Haha, this is funny! I won't lie, I love it when I see someone's taken the time to comment and given me feedback! How obsessively? I might have created a habit of checking my emails the morning after publishing a chapter. I just love reading the ones waiting for me in my inbox, they usually always makes me smile wide! Great way to start the day🥰

21. What’s your least favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?

Realizing that if I want to see it finished, I have to actually write it😂 No, but sometimes, writing can be a bit... Tedious? Frustrating? Challenging? It'd be so much simpler if every day was a good writing day, but sadly, that's not the case for me🙃

23. What’s your absolute favorite trope to write?

Soulmates, I think! I don't know, there's just something so romantic about the whole concept😊 (yes I know it sometimes can feel a tad unrealistic, but I read a ton of books like that growing up and I just really love how it makes me feel ok)

Bury your gays. Do I have to say more? My heart and soul still hasn't healed from when they killed off Lexa (I seriously can't watch that episode, I will break down), like what was the point of that?

28. How do you deal with writing pressure (ie: pressure to update, negative comments, deadlines, etc)?

I've learned this the hard way. If I'm too stressed or feel too pressured, I most likely won't continue it. So first, I never publish anything until I'm at least (!) 50% done OR have enough chapters to survive a possible writer's block period😝 And regarding negative comments, Idk, if I do receive one (which rarely happens bc you guys are 99% of the time angels) I either reach out to the person if it's obvious that I may have offended them OR I delete the comment/block the user if it's too insulting/making me too uncomfortable.

31. Of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones?

Oh, I'd say Son is my favorite atm! She's portrayed in such different ways all the time, so she's always fun to explore!

34. How much of yourself and your life experiences do you put into your writing? What do you think your readers’ image of you is?

I don't do it intentionally, but I think a lot of my characters suffers from various insecurities and nervous habits (such as Em's fiddling with her sleeves, her biting her lip, etc)

You guys' image of me? Gosh. Hahaha, I really don't know! Based on how I write my notes before and after the chapters, maybe as someone who's a tad overly excited? Hopefully people see me as kind. Making a Robe à la française

Because I want to :)

Part I

We all have those dream projects we keep coming back to every now and then. Mine usually change every few months and so get discarded, but reconstructing an historical gown is something that has been living in the back of my mind for years, maybe even before I started sewing.

Ideally, I'd start with something more reasonable, like the Regency period. But I can't help obsessing over 18th century gowns, especially over decorated Robes à la française. I just keep getting back to those.

My mental health is... terrible, to say the least, so I already know that this project is going to take ages for me to complete it. If I manage to complete it at all. But I found that external validation helps, which is why I decided to blog about it.

And so... here goes nothing!

The inspiration

One of the reasons why it took me quite a while to get started was that I didn't really know what I wanted my final result to look like. I have never wanted to make a specific historical reproduction, but you gotta start somewhere.

A couple of years ago (like, more than four) I found these old curtains in my gradma's old house. I I thought they would be perfect a robe, but I still didn't know where to start.

Luckily, mindlessly scrolling intagram isn't always useless (well, it is except for this one instance, but I digress), because I came across this dress on @/katestrasdin's page

After some digging (aka a google image reverse search) I found out the dress is owned by LACMA. Despite being the second image that comes up when you google "Robe a la Polonaise" (via Wikipedia) it's described by the museum as a Woman's Dress and Petticoat (Robe à la Française)" from Spain, circa 1775.

My goal is to make something similar to this, as far as decorations go. The structure should be more "à la Française", so without the draped back à la Polonaise and with a floor lenght skirt. But we'll see.

I'll try to use a patten from Norah Waugh's "The Cut of Women's Clothes" from a 1740-50 Sack Dress.

Since I had no idea how such a pattern worked I started by tracing it on a piece of paper and draping it on a small mannequin, just to have a rough idea of what I was getting myself into. The process gave me flashbacks to the Alexander McQueen paper doll I built in lockdown (if you have a few minutes to a few hours to spare, please check it out here). Nevertheless, I now feel a bit more confident about the whole thing. It can be done

The undergarments (and my plan of action)

This kind of dress needs to be built on the undergarments/understructures. That means they they need to be made before the actual dress. At the same time, making undergarments that are (a) never going to be seen by anyone and (b) pretty difficult to make isn't the most exciting thing in the world.

Weirdly enough, I already made a pair of stays in 2021. They're far from perfect, quite ugly and very much not historically accurate. But the shape is there and they'll do the job, at least for now.

The other most important part are the pocket hoops. It's what I should work on next, but I think I'll actually make a mockup of the dress first, as i want to see how much volume I'll need. Then I'll make the pocket hoops.

Then I'll probably make a mockup of the petticoat to use as an under-petticoat. At this point I should know whether I have enough fabric to make the main petticoat of the same fabric of the dress or not. Then the main petticoat itself and then, hopefully, the dress.

Somewhere in between all of this I should make a shift as well, but it's not vital for the process, so I suspect I'll end up procrastinating it as much as possible

Easy peasy, right?

Other stuff

It's not going to be historically accurate. I am starting from historical sources, and I'll try to follow them as much as possible, but in the end I just want to have fun and make a nice dress without too much stress. I will keep the hand stitching to the bare minimum and I'm pretty certain that my fabric is synthetic :)

I'm going to keep it as cheap as possible. Reuse, recycle and r...ice? Idk, you get the idea. I am not invested enough to put hundreds of euros in a project that I'll wear maybe once. And I think that sewing and crafts should be more accessible anyways

I'm making a game in my head and it's pretty fun

I think everyone kinda makes shit up in their head sometimes, right? I know i do all the time, and sometimes i just make up games in my head, i do it pretty often but usually the hype dies after a couple of months, this one though, this one keeps coming back, ok I'll get to it

This game is about sleding dogs, the two main inspiration are the sled dogs game (duh) and the red lantern, in red lantern i really like how the personality of the dogs affects the ways you interact with them and i love how you can do other things besides train and race like hunting and feeding the dogs, and i really like the freedom in sled dogs, and I'm also obsessed with breeding animals in games although the breeding in sled dogs is pretty boring lol

So this game is obviously made to cater to my tastes so here is all the features

Graphics:

I was thinking a simple low polygon 3d, like shelter 2 style, except with simpler textures and lighting, i think it would look cute and i would like to focus on gameplay

Dog stats:

Dogs have two types of stats:

*Traits, which are permanent and unchangeable, except for item use or raised puppies, mostly affects how the dog interact with you, other people and other dogs, with some of it directly or indirectly affecting their performance

*Skills, which are trainable and improvable, but you can also use items to improve it or improve training, affects only how the dog performs on racing, hunting or training

The traits stats go up to 100 but the actual number is randomized between a maximum and a minimum based on breed

The skill stats go up to 200 but the max you can get without training is 100, the number you first get when you adopt a dog is also randomized between a maximum and a minimum based on breed, but you can go past the maximum after you adopt them obv

Friendliness: 60-100/100

Obedience: 60-90/100

Alertness: 20-40/100

What do the stats do:

•Obedience: affects the efficiency of training and how likely the dog is to listen to you during any part of the game (above 60= 1.5x above 90= 2x)

•Alertness: how likely the dog is to notice something before you do, whether it's an obstacle in a race or a prey during hunting, also how likely they are to bark (above 60 learns hunting 1.5x)

•Wildness: affects how unpredictable the dog's mood is and if above 70 will make hunting training more effective by 1.5x but all other training will be 0.5x

•Resistance to cold: affects how likely the dog is to get sick after a race, can be improved with items like sweaters or socks

•Strength: affects the strength of the dogs during races and hunting, dogs with high strength do well as wheel dogs

•Speed: affects the speed of the dog during races and hunting, dogs with high speed do well as swing dogs

•Hunting: how good the dogs will be at finding and attacking prey during hunting

•Leadership: how good a dog is at leading the other dogs, if you put a dog with low leadership as lead the other dogs might start misbehaving and performing badly

•Energy: a dog with low energy might faint during too long a race and you will have to carry them in the sled

Dog acquirement:

-You can adopt some randomized dogs from the shelter (mixed bag, cheapest option)

-you can buy a specific breed from a breeder (expensive but will have great traits)

-you can adopt a dog from another musher (will have great skills, rare, can come with items)

-Breeding

Breeding and raising pups:

To breed dog you have to have a female dog, you can pay to have male dogs be the sire and you can sire out your male dogs but you will not get any puppies from that

The female dog will be pregnant for 3 in game days, once the puppies are born it will take 2 days for the mother to be able to leave them, so for 5 days the mother will not be able to be used, you get the option to sell any of the puppies at this point, if you don't have enough space the game will force you to sell some or all of the puppies depending on how much space you do have

it will take 4 days for the puppies to grow again, during these 4 days their traits will be molded be how you and the other dogs treat them, if the puppies are pure bred they will have the same min and max as their Breed, but if they are mixed their min will be same as whichever parent has the lowest and their max will be the same as whichever parent has the highest, after the four days the puppies will be teenagers, their traits will be set and you will be able to train their skills which will be set to 0, after 2 days they will grow into adults and will be able to race

How to raise puppies:

*Other dogs being agressive towards the puppy will lower friendliness and raise wildness

* Other dogs being friendly towards the puppy will raise friendliness and lower wildness

* Scolding the puppy will lower friendliness and raise obedience

* Praising the puppy will raise friendliness and raise obedience

* Leaving the puppy outside will raise alertness and raise resistance to cold but might make them sick

*Leaving the puppy indoor will lower wildness and raise friendliness

*Giving the puppy a treat will affect the traits however you chose (the item "puppy treat" is the most expensive treat in the game)

How breeding will affect appearance:

If you breed two dogs of the same breed the puppies will have the same body type as the breed and will either have the father or the mother's markings, with a 5% chance of a mix and a 2% chance of a mutation, with either the mother or father's eye color with no chance of mutation except for heterochromia which will have a 1% chance

If you breed two dogs of different breed they will either have the mother or the father's body type and a random mix of markings and a random eye color with a 12% chance of heterochromia

The way markings will work is they will have layers, meaning a dog with a black coat and a brown ring around it and brown markings and a white underside, will actually have three layers, a pure white one, then a brown top one and a black one with holes for the brown markings, allowing for this more interesting breeding

Your stats:

Your only stat is resistance to cold, which you can only improve with items

Locomotion:

There is a truck outside your house and if you interact with it you can go to different areas

Hunting:

There will be an area in the forest you will be able to go hunting in, You can take as many dogs as you want hunting, if they have 60 lvl hunting they will track some prey for you, if they have 150 lvl hunting they will attack the prey,whether they are able to catch it depends on their speed lvl and whether they are able to take it down will depend on their strength level

You can buy different guns and all that hunting stuff to use here

The town is an area that is filled with shops, there are houses but they're just set dressing cuz it'd look otherwise imo

There will be a grocery store where you can buy ingredients

A pet shop where you can buy all the dog supplies

A clothing store for you

A gun and camping shop for your hunting needs

A carpenter that upgrades your stuff

And an all in one store where everything's cheaper but it's also randomized each week and they don't restock during the week

Feeding the dogs:

You can buy dog food in the pet

shop

You can give raw meat to your dogs from either the grocery store or from hunting

You can also cook for your dogs using ingredients from the grocery story or from the wild area and each recipe will give them different temporary bonuses, but if you cook them badly they will not work

Races:

There are weekly races that are easy and short, monthly races with obstacles and weather conditions with medium length, yearly races that are the same as monthly races except very long and special races that will basically be special events each with it's on gimmicks and with unique items as adicional rewards

The weekly race is a day long

The monthly race is three days long

The yearly race is a week long

You have to take supplies in the races, such as food, weapons, clothes (for you and your dog), material to fix your sled when it breaks, shelter, a source of heat and medical supplies

During the race your dogs can run out of energy and faint, get sick from the cold or become injured from an obstacle

Your sled can break from an obstacle, from wear or from extreme weather conditions

if the number of non- compromised dogs becomes smaller that the number of minimum dogs allowed in a race you will be disqualified

Sled:

You have two sleds, a toboggan sled, optimized for speed, and a basket sled, optimized for cargo, you can have them both upgraded by the carpenter

Dog positions in the sled:

Lead dogs: best with high leadership

Swing dogs: best with high speed

Team dogs: best balanced

Wheel dogs: best with high strength

Obstacles:

•Frozen rivers and lakes (crossing In a weak spot might cause the ice to break, if this happens you will need to rescue the dogs that have fallen in before they sink, rescued dogs may get sick or injured from it)

•Unfrozen rivers and lakes (must cross at a shallow part, going in a deep part will lower a dog's res.t.cold 2x, if the river has a strong current a dog with low strength might get swept up)

•Knocked over trees, large rocks (you just need to go around)

• wild wolves(if there are more than 3 in a group they will attack your dogs, the only way to stop them is shooting, if there are less than 3 they will leave you alone)*these can also apear during hunting

Weather:

•Fog: makes it harder to see during hunting and racing

•rain: makes your dogs wet, lowering their speed by 0.5x and res.t.cold by 0.7x

•snowstorm: makes it harder to see, lowers your speed by 1x and your res.t.cold by 1.2x, makes your dog more likely to get sick

• thunderstorm: makes your dogs wet, lowering their speed by 0.5x and res.t.cold by 0.7x, lighting may cause fire

•Hail: will damage your sled and injure your dogs, can break frozen rivers and lakes and knock down trees

Prestige:

You and your dogs will gain prestige when you win a race

You and the lead dog will gain 1.2x prestige than the rest of the team

Prestige attracts sponsors

Sponsors:

Your sponsors will pay you after each race regardless if you came first or last

Sponsors will give you items each time you renew your contract with them

Sponsors might put restrictions on how many other sponsors you can have on your contract

I'm not sure about this, i don't know what type of controls would work best for the gameplay i want, i do know i want it to be really simple and easy to switch between third person and first person in the game

Super easy: you start the game with a Samoyed, the whole time it's basically tutorial mode, when your signing up to races it will show you what dogs are bad in the positions you put them in, which are neutral and which are good,shows you how likely you are to win, if you have an item that can help you the game will point it out, items are cheaper, sponsors will make offers more often, rewards for winning races are bigger, training dogs is easier

Easy: you start the game with an yakutin laika, when your signing up to races it will show you what dogs are bad in the positions you put them in, which are neutral and which are good, shows you how likely you are to win, rewards are bigger

Normal: you start the game with a Sakhalin husky, shows you which dogs are bad in the positions you put them in, shows you how likely you are to win

At your house is where all your dogs will be, adults dogs will stay outside in the backyard, pregnant females and puppies will stay inside

At the start you will only have space in your backyard for 5 adult dogs an in your house for one pregnant female and five puppies

Your backyard has dog houses, in front of each dog house there is a food bowl that you need to fill everyday, and in the middle of the backyard there's a water trough that also has to be filled everyday and if it's frozen it'll need to be emptied out first

Everytime you upgrade your house you will gain another slot for a pregnant female and five more slots for puppies, you can upgrade 5 times

The first five times you upgrade your backyard the water trough will be less likely to freeze and the dog houses will keep you dogs more warm making it less likely that they get sick, every time you upgrade your backyard it will add one dog house and one slot for an adult dog, you can upgrade 15 times

Can the dogs die:

Yes, the dogs can die from sinking in a frozen river, from being swept up by the current in a regular river, by being attacked by wolves, by being hit by a falling tree, being caught in a fire or be having illness and injuries not be treated in 6 days (3 in hard mode)

Except in super easy mode, where the dogs do not die, they simply show up back home injured or sick and can't die from untreated medical issues either

Can you pet the dogs:

Yes, at home, while hunting or when camping during a race you can pet all dogs present, when going into the city the dog that is marked as your favorite will come with you (by default this is the dog that you start the game with, but you can change it anytime) and you will be able to pet them anytime while you're there, you can also feed the dogs any treat that you have with you anytime

      Piety Points are the Game's way of measuring how devoted a humanoid is to their Deity, (and how much power the Deity and their temples give them in return,) completely independent of player Class or Race!

      Peity Points are basically the God-and-Follower version of Bonds, measuring both the follower's personal devotion to their Deity and the Deity's approval of that follower's actions.

      (Remember, since Bond numbers must be reciprocated, someone who follows a Deity's principles by nature but doesn't really venerate them will not have a bond/piety points, and neither will someone who adores a Deity but doesn't actually follow their rules. For example: Someone who worships Lathander but twists his teachings, and uses them as a justification to hurt innocent people? Lathander does not approve of that, so that person probably doesn't have Piety Points.)

      You can have any number of Points, which are Earned and Lost based on criteria set by the Deity. They are very difficult to earn, meaning that a Player must do many great deeds in the name of their Deity to collect them! These Great Deeds can be personal or interpersonal; saving a town from imminent demise will obviously earn you some points, but so will overcoming personal weaknesses that are important to you.

      There are five Ranks of Piety, which determine how much power you get from your deity and how well-known you are in your temple.

Sune's Votaries are known as a Sibling/Sister/Brother of the Ruby Rose.      Sune's love glows warmly in your heart! With this trait, you can cast Beakon of Hope. Rank 4: Disciple (25-49 Piety Points)

So great was the love heartwarders had for their fellow allies, that their divine power could absorb some of the harm caused to them. While it reduced the lethality of an attack, it hurt the heartwarder in turn.

Most of the Clergy also believes that Aasimar of Sune are born with all of these powers dormant within themselves, regardless of their rank or level! This has never been concretely proven, with Aasimar being so rare, but the belief persists...

Central City and Keystone: A bit of History

I think some people forget Gotham isn't the only one with absolute Psycopathic villains and crumbling economy. Let's take Central City, for instance.

Central City AND it's sister Keystone City is built on a faction of unionised workers, run off of Company plants, and people in the cities fear robots taking over their jobs enough to protest about it. Often the skies were depicted as smoke-filled and smoggy, except on Sunday's when the factories were down for a day. Not only that but most every coorperation is corrupt and everyone that's rich has made it by evil means. Take Rathaway Industries, or even STAR Labs as examples. Rathaway Industries is old money, but old enough that they got away with poor work conditions, cutting back minimum wage, racism, mysoginy, and homophobia. If what happened to their own son and Heir, Hartley Rathaway, isn't enough to prove that, I don't know what is. STAR Labs is new money and when has technological advancement ever really been clean, let's be honest.

Iron Heights was also one of the most corrupt facilities on City borders, accused of torturing, starving, and beating inmates. "The Pipeline" was created for the more villainous residents, even those who didn't deserve the treatment such as the rogues, and lesser known meta criminals. It was the basement of Iron Heights, full of dripping pipes of chemical water and bad air supply. These inmates were never taken out of their cells and usually weren't given enough clean drinking water, food, or sustainable living, leavig them to rot where they couldn't be seen. No wonder the Rogues were constantly breaking out, now that just makes the Flashes look like the bad guys. (They really are douche bags, them Flashers).

On to scary ass villains, you want to talk about the Joker of Central? I give you Dr Amar, AKA Murmur. He was Barry Allen's first testimony in court and first serial killer case. Amar would cut the tongues of his victims out of them while they were still alive and then silence them for good over his cray obsession for silence. He was trialed for 12 out of 50 murders he was suspected of and sent to Iron Heights for life. While in the prison, his mouth was sewn shut and tongue cut out as to not incriminate himself any further. Durring Wally West's prime as The Flash, he created a virus that spread through the water in the pipeline and infected everyone in Iron Heights with a deadly disease that choked it's victims to death by swelling thier tongues. The only cure was his abnoral blood, and Amar could not be infected.

Story 1

At the moment I may or may not be a bit obsessed with One Piece without even watching the anime, and I'm even more obsessed with Sanji and the Vinsmokes in general, so I thought of four story ideas with a reader insert, two will be romantic and the last two will be platonic.

1. Aracne

In this Au Reader is a Third, her family has webbed countless portraits for the Vinsmoke family, she goes with her older brother in order to further her practice and experience in webbing a portrait.

She is four years older then the quadruplets and one year older than Reiju.

Story time

*Big brother says I need to be careful with the Vinsmokes, they don't act bad but I don't like how their eyes look and I feel dizzy when I look at them, although brother said that it was sea sickness,* (F/N) thought while she carried some of the webbing material behind her brother.

Her brother had three spider arms and one pair of human arms while she has tree pair of human arms and one pair of spider ones.

*Mother always says how we are total opposites in not only personality but also in bodies just like the Mrabara,* (F/N) remembered.

"Brother,"

"Yes?" They had already arrived to the webbing room.

"What is a Mrabara?" (F/N) moved to one side for her face to be visible.

"W-Where did you hera that word?" Brother's face was twisted in nervous worry.

"Mom,"

"Oh thank god," His face relaxed.

"Is there something wrong with Mrabara?"

"It's a mature word," Brother tried to explain.

"I'm mature," (F/N) pouted following her brother who had entered the webbing room.

"Never said you weren't.......just don't say it in front of Clío and if you do tell her mom taught you the word," Brother said while he started to prepare the webbing station.

"Come help me with this (F/N),"

Four hours later.

"Are you listening (F/N)?"

"Yeah," (F/N) muttered in her seat while she watched her brother web.

"What did I just say then?" Brother looked at her and smiled playfully.

"You already bored, don't you usually last for 7 whole hours?" Her brother gave her a worried look.

"I don't know," (F/N) really wanted to walk outside but she didn't know why, she loved webbing to the point that in her lessons they had to remind her to eat, although they said that it was normal.

"Tell you what, I'll ask for something to eat, meanwhile go and retrieve my webbing book," (F/N) lightened up at the thought of walking outside.

"Ok," (F/N) bolted to the door.

"Stick to the route we came from," Her brother reminded and she just nodded in agreement before she opened the door and left the room.

When she left the room she bumped into someone slightly smaller than her, she caught the stranger before they could fall to the ground.

"Are you ok? I'm so sorry," She looked at the stranger who had yellow hair.

"Hello?" She asked after stopping herself from apologizing again when she received no answer, the boy was frozen.

"S-S-So-orry-Sorry," The boy whispered.

"Why are you apologizing?" She then gasped recognizing the prince.

"Your highness, I'm so sorry," She apologized again.

Before she could keep apologizing they heard some footsteps approaching them and then someone calling out.

"Sanji!!" The boy stiffened at the voice calling his name, he took (F/N)'s hand and ran.

(F/N) followed along until they reached a dead end, she could see how the little boy was trembling and heard how the taunts and footsteps where still following them, but something good was that the dead end had a window.

She took out of her pockets a thread serger that had spider web her family told her to always carry with her, she roped the thread around the boy to create a small harness.

"I'm going to get you down there," The boy only looked at her in shock.

She pushed the window open and put the boy in the ledge of the window, under the window was a small bush where he could easily hide.

"Be very quiet," She said as she pushed the boy and started to let him down as fast as she could, the steps where getting closer and closer.

Luckily she felt the boy reach the ground a few second before the chasers reached her, but she only had time to throw her end or the thread and close the window.

"SANJI!!" She turned around in surprise and saw that a bow with green hair had yelled that.

*It's the princes,* (F/N) noted when the last two boys rounded the corner.

"Ichiji, this is just a girl," The blue haired one whined.

The red haired boy glared and (F/N) felt shivers when she made eye contact.

"Oi, where did Sanji go?" The green haired boy asked.

(F/N) only shacked her head.

"Then what is a insect like you doing here?" The blue haired one asked.

"Looking out the window?" (F/N) gave a look of "seriously", this seemed to anger them.

"An lowlife doesn't need to see out the window, maybe we should use this one since we can't find Sanji," The blue haired one was clearly the most volatile.

"(F/N) what are you doing here?" Came her brother's cold voice.

"Brother, I just wanted to look out the window," (F/N) explained while the boys turned around and their grins disappeared when they saw her brother.

"Young princes, I will be taking my sister with me now," He greeted politely.

(F/N) immediately followed him not looking behind, this made her brother the only one who saw the red strings tied to her pinkies.

In this Au there is a species called Aracne, this species is a hybrid between a spider and human, there are different forms a Aracne can be born into such as seconds, thirds and fourths, although the form is respective to the family they come from.

Seconds

As the name says, they are basically half spider and half humans, the spider humans is always the lower, members of this species are considered either as builders since due to their form it would be incredible dangerous for the to go into the sea and their silk is the strongest and more resistant or as knowledge guardians (librarians) and they have the most elders since they have the longer lifespan. They can also be seen as teachers and caretakers too, they are also the ones who take care of the security alongside the Fourths, there is usually two of them per family they take the role as grandparents or simply mentors although the last one is extremely rare and two is just the minimum but unofficially they take care of all family's since they most probably took care of them as children. Their bites are fatal and will take your life in less than a minute and can dissolve any surface.

Thirds

Their humanoid features are more dominant than the spider ones, in this form they possess either one, two or three pairs of arms and the rest takes the form of a spider leg that is always in their lower backs. When it comes to females their web exit is in the middle of where the lowest spider legs find themselves this causes them to be incredibly flexible to reach for the web. They are considered the negotiators and commonly leave their homes to aid their nest's economy, this is usually trough them selling their services in making clothes, rugs and even portraits with their silk but this kind of service is only given to royalty or families considered sacred or that are friends with them. (It is considered a honor or sign of power to have one portrait since it is believed that they can predict the future). Their bite is also mortal but will take six minutes to kill an adult, although it has been used in some medicine that kind of works like chemo.

Fourths

They are the ones who exit their island the most in unofficial matters unlike the thirds, this is due to their forms being less evident and easier to hide, they are the ones in charge to keep the island updated in politics, economy, science and culture although some of them also accompany as guards the thirds when it comes to political exits, they only possess two to tree pairs of arms, their whole body possess small hard hair that allows them to still be able to climb webs like the other forms, their bite takes ten minutes to kill someone or if they are a strong human they can survive but not without any damage that is usually caused to their muscles, although their venom if processed correctly can be used to cure countless of sicknesses, this is a secret guarded with their lives in order to prevent their active hunt. They are also the buffest since they need to compensate their lack of spider legs with their strength.

Skin and eye color varies an there is no consistence, when it comes to eyes Seconds may possess 8 to 6, Thirds 5 to 3 and Fourths possess 4 to 3, two eyes is incredibly rare and only happens when someone is born from a Fourth and a human, hybrids are born from the union of two different forms, the Aracne are not against romantic relationship between different forms but when it comes to reproduce they worry, if a fourth became pregnant with a Second or Third they will die during the pregnancy or in childbirth since the baby's form will be mixed and the Fouth's body cannot handle it, same goes for a Third with a Fourth although there are higher chances of survival there is still the possibility of some life damage occurring, Seconds are the ones who can carry in a less dangerous way the offspring of the lover but due to the Second's anatomy a Fourth's baby has a 85% of chance to die and a Fourth's has a 50% chance to die in the womb.

If the hybrid is born healthy they are raised normally but health issues will come in the future if they aren't born with them already, although there are cases where hybrids manage to enjoy a full life, they still needed medical help to manage it.

There is a lot less danger if the child is a mix between a Aracne and a human, since a human's gene would only water down the child's form a long as it is the Aracne who carries, if it where the human they will die if they carrie the offspring of a Second or a Third, if it is a Fourth's child they carry it comes with less danger but their chance of survival is of less than 30%.

The Tumblr NaruHina fandom seemed to disappear, a whole community of writers left for other things (matchaball, nekomamoru, magmawrites, cherryjutsu, spyder-m, tenney-shoes, eliphya, among others). 2018 was a very quiet year, but! I avidly read katarinahime and bunnyhoodlum's works! In 2019, quirrrky restarted things with NaruHina Week!

2. How do you spend your time when it comes to fanfiction? Are you primarily a fic reader, writer, or a perfect 50/50 split of both?

Recently I’m primarily a reader!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because there's so many writers now!!!!!!!!

3. Are there any fics that inspired you to write what you do?

Yeah, let’s list them.  “A Special Friend” by agitosgirl inspired “Nightdreams.  “Medicine” by @grimmjowkurosakidrake​ inspired “White Lilies.  “Torch Song” by @mmmbuttery inspired “About You.”  The language in “Unless the World Were to End” by @bunny-hoodlum​ inspired the language in “That was the plan.”  “In Between Drinks” by @peppercornpress inspired “In Between Drinks NH.”

4. Link your three favorite fics right now.

“Operation: Bring Home Naruto” by Dragonwannabe - Rated T, Canon-Divergent, Multi-chapter, Complete. Hinata's been assigned the mission of getting Naruto back home safely after his last dangerous assignment. But can she handle the undercover identity as his girlfriend that she’d been given without revealing her true feelings for him?

“The Mission” by Lunawraythe - Rated M, Canon-Divergent, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. It wasn't that Hinata never expected to work with Naruto, just never on a mission quite like this.

“The Loving Type” by @peppercornpresses - Rated M, Canon-Divergent, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. A few years have passed since the Fourth Shinobi War, in which...Rookie Nine steadily advances in rank. Naruto gets engaged. Hinata leaves Konoha. And Kakashi schemes for days.

5. What are your fanfic pet peeves? Do they have a huge effect on whether or not you decide to read something?

ahhh.  I do have quite a few pet peeves.  If the fic is Canon-Compliant or Canon-Divergent, I expect Naruto and Hinata to behave like Japanese people.  Say what you want, but the Naruto Universe is definitely Japanese in my book.  So that means no shoes in the house.  Nothing rattles me more than reading Hinata taking her sandals off before climbing into bed.  Like, what?  she was wearing her outdoor shoes indoors this whole time??

mmm... another pet peeve is when the writer describes Hinata in a kimono, but it sounds like an American Halloween costume, like the slutty version, instead of an actual kimono.

mmm... and the other big pet peeve I have is when it’s Hinata’s first time eating ramen because Naruto is showing her the wonders of ramen.  lol.  why.  how.  in what world would a Japanese person make it to their teenage years without ever eating ramen.

I have a bunch of other little pet peeves regarding Japanese culture in fanfics.  But in general, it doesn’t stop me from reading the fic if I'm already in the middle of it.  I’ll continue reading it and will probably recommend it to other people anyway. If I can tell based on the summary, then it's not for me, and I don't read it. If this makes anyone feel nervous about writing fanfiction, that's not my intention! I would also be happy to be a sensitivity reader if necessary.

6. How do you find new fic to read? Where do you primarily read fanfiction?

I primarily read fanfics on AO3 and ffnet.  I find new ones by constantly checking the Hyuuga Hinata/Uzumaki Naruto tag on AO3 or looking into a writer’s favorites list on ffnet.

7. Do you prefer to read short fics or long fics?

Short fics.

8. How often do you reblog/comment on fics that you like?

I reblog pretty often. I don't comment as often as I used to😕 I used to comment on every fic I liked.

9. Tag 3 fic writers you think are underrated/unknown in the fandom/fanfiction community.

Uhh?? Idk. I think recently the writing group here is pretty tight, everyone seems to know everyone.

Naruto fandom and NaruHina.

11. How do you come up with your fic titles?

I usually take it from words used in the story or from the prompt.

12. Tell the author your favorite fic title of theirs (not the fic, strictly title). Author: what’s your favorite title you’ve come up with and why?

I think...maybe "Tell Me of Forevers" or "Nightdreams." I like those because they aren't taken word-for-word directly from the story, but touch on a theme in the story.

13. Do you outline your fics? How much of a headache would someone get if they just looked at an outline of yours without reading the fic?

Yes, I outline. They wouldn't get a headache, I think. It's usually just a summary.

14. Do you have a personal word minimum that you hold yourself too? Why or why not?

Nope. I didn't know people do that.

15. Tell the author your favorite fic of theirs. What’s your (the author’s) favorite fic you’ve written?

My favorite fic continues to be "It's No Secret."

16. Do you research for your fics? If so, how deep of a rabbit hole have you gone down by accident when researching?

Yes, I do. I've done historical and folktale research for "Little Samurai." I did area/location research for "Last Chance." I did historical research for "About You." I did fairy tale research for "Catskin." I did a ton of astronomy research for "The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl." And I did lighting research for "Inspo." I go pretty deep.

17. How obsessively do you sit and stare at your fic after you’ve just posted and wait for feedback?

I don't. I usually have something else I need to do or I go to bed.

18. Do you have a WIP that you keep telling yourself you’ll eventually get back to, but deep down you know that’s probably a lie?

I actually think I can finish all of mine if I just try.

19. Do you edit your fics after you write them, or do you prefer to just hit post and run (because it’s someone else’s problem now)?

I always edit before posting to AO3. Anything I post directly on Tumblr might not be edited.

20. What’s your favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?

Posting!

21. What’s your least favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?

Starting a new chapter.

22. Do you take fic requests? If so, for what characters and why?

On occasion. If someone sends me a request, I'll think about writing it. Sometimes I do write and post it, sometimes I leave them in my drafts for a better day.

23. What’s your absolute favorite trope to write?

From what I already have posted, probably friends-to-lovers, secret relationship/forbidden love, or high school au. I don't think I have an intentional favorite.

24. What’s a trope that you’d like to never hear about as long as you live, let alone write?

Public humiliation / public degradation.

25. Do you listen to music as you write? If possible, link your writing playlist.

No, not usually.

26. What’s your biggest distraction when writing?

Tumblr feed, all the pictures to scroll through mindlessly.

27. Do you like to give your readers some warning of what might be coming or just slap them in the face with content at random?

lol, whatever is fine.

28. How do you deal with writing pressure (ie: pressure to update, negative comments, deadlines, etc)?

Well, pressure to update is not a big deal to me. I do this for fun, so I don't think I unnecessarily pressure myself too much. With negative comments, I don't get too many of those, and I think I do my best to avoid situations where I might get negative feedback.

29. Have you ever written for an exchange or event of some kind? Which one(s)? Did you enjoy it?

Yeah, I like the events. My favorite was NH2020, the year-long one last year. I also enjoyed the Secret Santa last year since @badluckbrebis was my giftee.

Naruto Uzumaki, always.

Top 3 faves in order:

That was the plan: "She shifts in his arms, and cloth and cleavage come pillowing up to his face, and he’s certain that she’s scooped from the same puffy stuff his adolescent daydreams were made of."

Tell Me of Forevers: "What he wouldn’t do to inspire every blush, every smile of hers for an eternity when such moments already only speak “forever” to him."

White Lilies: "Whether at his feet, in his eyes, ears, mind, if not reaching his heart, she never landed anywhere. (It’s okay.)"

I consider "White Lilies" to have my technically best writing, so it was kind of hard to choose just one line from that fic! But I decided that one's my favorite line from the whole story.

33. What do you like writing better: one shots or multi-chapter stuff?

One-shots.

34. How much of yourself and your life experiences do you put into your writing? What do you think your readers’ image of you is?

A lot of my life experiences are in my writing. Hmm, I think readers probably think I'm...hmm...either empathetic or really perverted?

35. How much has writing fic changed your life?

I spend a lot less time on real-life social media than before.

36. Are there any fics or fandoms you’re embarrassed to have written or been part of?

I'm kind of embarrassed of "Honeymoon at the Hot Springs" lol. It's fine.

37. Give an update on your current WIP - if you don’t have one, give a sneak peek to a title or idea that you have and would like to write.

My current WIP is that A/B/O fic I started for February Smut Month Prompts: Sweet as Candy or Love Bites. I'm going to title it "Sweet As," and it'll be about how Naruto and Hinata become Alpha/Omega mates. It's really kinky, really smutty, and totally what I would want to read.

38. What does your writing process look like? How chaotic is it on a scale of 1 (very tame) to 10 (you can’t handle this kind of chaos)?

uhh???? a 1?? I've never once thought of my writing process as chaotic. Ahh, then I think of bunnyhoodlum's multiple drafts for the same chapter, and I realize that there exist types of writing processes that I would not be able to handle...

My smut.

Idk about Tumblr,,, maybe White Lilies got the most attention here. My most popular fic is Nightdreams on AO3.

I will always remember how people congratulated me for finishing White Lilies😭 Also, when peppercornpresses made that FIRST art of my story, I just, I just stared at it all day.

50 Questions to Ask Your Wedding Venue

The Basics

What dates are available in the month I'm considering? TIP: Some venues offer a discount for booking an off-season date or a Sunday through Friday wedding.

How many people can this location accommodate?

What is the rental fee and what's included in that price?

How many hours does the rental fee include, and is there an overtime fee if I stay longer? We really like to party.

How much is the deposit, when is it due, and is it refundable?

What's the payment plan for the entire bill? What forms of payment do you accept?

Can I have my ceremony here, too? Is there an additional cost?

Are there changing areas for the bride, groom, and/or wedding party?

Can we have our rehearsal dinner here? What about a morning-after mimosa brunch?

How much time is allocated for the rehearsal?

What's the cancellation policy? TIP: Some places will refund most of your deposit if you cancel far enough in advance, since there's still a chance they can rent the space. After a certain date, though, you may not be able to get a refund—at least not a full one.

What's your weather contingency (backup) plan for outdoor spaces?

Do you have liability insurance? TIP: If drunk cousin Steve gets injured during the dance party, you don't want to be held responsible—if the site doesn't have insurance, you'll need to get your own. 

Wedding Liability Insurance: Some venues require couples to purchase this for protection in the event of injuries, property damage or alcohol-related accidents.

Cancellation/Postponement Insurance: In case of unpredictable illness, inclement weather, no-show vendors, damage to gifts or to the bride's dress, etc.

Food + Drinks

Do you have an in-house caterer or a list of "preferred" caterers, or do I need to provide my own? Even if there is an in-house caterer, do I have the option of using an outside caterer instead?

If I hire my own caterer, is there a kitchen available for them? TIP: Caterers charge extra if they have to haul in refrigerators and stoves.

Is there a food & beverage minimum?

What's the tax and service charge?

Can we do a food tasting before we finalize our menu selection? Does it cost extra? TIP: Be sure to ask if they'll accommodate dietary restrictions and/or food allergies. Usually it's no problem!

Are tables, linens, chairs, plates, silverware, and glassware provided, or will I have to rent them myself or get them through my caterer?

Can I bring in a cake from an outside baker or do I have to use a cake made on site?

Is there a cake-cutting fee? If I use a cake made on site is the fee waived? TIP: Sometimes if you ask if a friend or family member can cut your cake, they'll waive the cake-cutting fee for you.

Can we bring our own wine, beer or champagne? What about hard liquor?

Is there a corkage fee?

Are you licensed to provide alcohol service? TIP: Some venues (like wineries) aren't licensed to serve hard alcohol. You may need to get permission to bring in an outside beverage catering company if you like your booze.

How is alcohol priced, and is there a bar minimum?

Are there additional charges for bar staff?

Décor + Rentals

Are we allowed to bring in our own decorations? TIP: Keep the existing décor in mind when planning your own decorations so that they won't clash! And if your event is in December, ask what the venue's holiday décor will be. Because creepy Santa's NOT invited.

Do you have an inventory of décor (lighting, candle holders, vases, etc.) we can borrow from?

Can I move things around or do I have to leave everything as is?

TIP: Some venues have restrictions on whether or not you can hang things from the ceiling or on the walls. If you're obsessed with string lights, better check on this.

Can we use candles/confetti/sparklers/fireworks/animals/lawn games/bounce houses/food trucks/insert your own fun-but- potentially-dangerous liability here?

Do you have signage or other aids to direct guests to my event?

Do you provide heaters and/or umbrellas for the outdoor spaces?

Vendors + Staffing

Can I hire my own vendors or is there a preferred vendor list we need to stick to? 

Do you offer on-site coordination? What services are included?

Can the venue accommodate a DJ or live band?

What security services do you offer? TIP: In general, you should have 2 security guards for the first 100 guests and 1 more for every additional 100 guests. #thatviplife

Do you provide a coat check service?

What time can my vendors start setting up on the day of the wedding? TIP: Some venues host multiple weddings per weekend. Others just host one! If your venue does the latter, ask if you can start the setup the day before.

Does the venue provide assistance getting gifts and/or décor back to a designated car or hotel room after the wedding?

Logistics

Is there a separate space for cocktail hour?

Do you have a sound system and/or microphones for speeches? TIP: Check where the outlets are located in your event space, because that will help you figure out where the band can set up and where other vendors can hook up their equipment. You don't want the head table to block the only outlet in the room, right?

Are there any noise restrictions?

Is there parking on site and if so, is it complimentary? If not, where will my guests park?

Are cabs/rideshares (like Uber, Lyft, etc.) easily accessible from the venue?

If a shuttle service is needed, can you assist with setting it up?

How many restrooms are there? TIP: You should have at least 4 restrooms per 100 people. 

What overnight accommodations do you provide? Do you offer a discount for booking multiple rooms—or a complimentary room or upgrade for the newlyweds?!

If no accommodations are available, what are the nearest hotels to the venue? TIP: Some venues have partnerships with local hotels that offer a discount if you book a block of rooms.

Is the site handicap accessible?

Do you have a recycling policy? We'd love for our wedding to give back.
