Milei presented today to the congress a project that turns him into king.

A project that allows the forces to send you to jail if you protest, no middle grounds. That gives room to consider groupings of three persons or more that are manifesting, a crime. That gives more tools to police to justify shooting you to death. That allows the State to sell everything, our satellites, our airline, our gas, our petrol, our lands... and more, to private foreign companies.

They are trying to override more than 300 laws with one unilateral decree. Now they are presenting this project to the congress, just in case the dictatorial decree is rejected.

If any of these two passes, Argentina gets a crazed king. Is the Excecutive power overpowering the Legislative and Judicial. Is the legalization of political prosecution, is the selling of all of our assets, is the end of hard earned rights for the workers.

Today I went to the streets, to protest this, I got lucky to not get punched by the police just by a hair. We will keep going out, we will keep getting organized. Is that, or Caligula wins.

I write this in english, bc for argentinian social media we have the rest, where we are raging. But also, because the fight is on the streets, on the congress, on all that any organized collective can do to stop him. Here, is just to inform mutuals and foreign friends that this is what happens when the people votes the right and its more deformed version: ancaps. Now, to stop him is key, not only for Argentina, but for the whole region.

-over 200 songs were banned

-over 600 books were banned

-over 200 foreign movies and 130 local ones were banned and hundreds more were cut or censored

-over 14000 conscripts were sent to malvinas

-649 of them were killed and 350 committed suicide upon return

-at least 30000 brothers and sisters were detained, tortured and disappeared

-490 people were born in captivity. only 137 have been recovered

-at least 500000 argentines were exiled

-the first state to recognize videla as president was the usa

-the imf approved a loan for 110 million dollars to the junta the very same day of the coup, even before any state recognized it as government

The "tactics" of torture, forced disappearance, and clandestine warfare used by the Argentine military dictatorship of 1976-1983 were taught to the Argentine military by their French military "professors," who used them extensively in their miserable attempts to maintain their empire over Vietnam, Algeria and other countries. These techniques of state terror were first used in French colonial violence, and then were applied here, with the approval of Plan Cóndor supported by the United States. The same tortures that were inflicted on Vietnamese peasants and Algerian activists were also inflicted on Argentine students, the same cruelty that the military dictatorships used from Mexico to Chile was dictated as a method at the School of the Americas. In Argentina, 30.000 people were forcibly dissapeared, tortured, raped and killed, and countless others were brutally repressed with scars they, and our entire society, still bear today.

Validar desde el "van a correr" al violento que mañana se envalentona para atropellar estudiantes de letras y cines que quieren defender el Gaumont, a los libertarios que contratan sicarios para que violen y torturen a una militante, está todo conectado.

Cómo dijo Bregman, los planes económicos de Martínez de Oz, que estamos repitiendo nuevamente, solo se conducen con represión. Desde el discurso oficial están enseñándole a nuestro pueblo a enamorarse de la represión que necesitan para tasarnos y vendernos al mejor postor.

El discurso oficial alimenta una sociedad agitada, decepcionada con culpables, invita a las subsecuentes satisfactorias violencias, alienta a una sociedad fácilmente manipulable a estallar contra quien le apunten como culpable de su miseria. If you want a summary of how fucked we are: the Vicepresident is the daughter of a genocidal piece of shit that tortured soldiers during the Malvinas war to the point that even the Brits were horrified. She defends the dictatorship, says it was 'necessary' and that the thousands and thousands of dead people and babies stolen were just 'excesses'.

Remember the movie we had at the Oscars last year? Argentina 1985? Well, the government is basically denying everything that happened there and trying to free the monsters that were condemned.

Lo que realmente se dio ese 24 de marzo de 1976 fue un golpe de estado, una dictadura que desapareció y mató a miles de personas. Por que no fueron solo 30.000

FUERON MÁS.

Las fuerzas armadas destituyeron de su puesto a Isabelita, la presidenta a cargo en el momento, y la junta militar tomó el poder completo a la fuerza.

Se impuso en el país cierta religión, modelo económico e ideología y si no estabas de acuerdo, te mataban. Asi de fácil.

Los milicos decian estar en guerra contra la "subversión"

Si eras peronista eras subversivo, si eras comunista eras subversivo, si eras militante eras subversivo. Tambien si eras amigo o familiar, si denunciabas una desaparición, si estabas en un centro de estudiantes, si te gustaba cierta musica, si tenías ciertos libros en tu casa o el pelo largo siendo hombre, eras subversivo y por lo tanto, tenias que desaparecer.

¿Que le paso a mi hijx, a mi nietx, a mi hermanx, a mi amigx?

"no esta ni muerto ni vivo. Esta desparecido"

Eso decía el general Jorge Rafael Videla sobre toda la gente que él mismo y todas las personas implicadas en esta dictadura mandaban a secuestrar, interrogar, torturar, matar, violar y desparecer.

Porque todos los implicados son responsables. La policía es responsable, las fuerzas armadas son responsables, la iglesia católica y los medios que protegían a los asesinos son responsables. Y todos deberian ser enjuiciados y condenados. A perpetua.

Mas tarde la junta militar intentó justificar los crimenes que cometieron diciendo que fue "la unica respuesta posible"

"La consecuencia de esa acción de gobierno solo podia ser una: la guerra" Decía Galtieri, miembro de la junta militar en los juicios.

¿En que mundo "la única respuesta posible" a cualquier situación es realizar un golpe de estado? ¿Desaparecer de mas de treinta mil personas? ¿Secuestrar a mujeres embarazadas y entregarle sus bebés a otra familia? ¿Matar y torturar a estudiantes de secundaria por pedir que baje el precio del boleto de colectivo?

Estos no fueron casos aislados, no fueron "excesos". Fue un plan sistemático de desaparición y terrorismo de estado que no se limita a un par de personas individuales. Ni siquiera se limita nada más a Argentina, Fue parte del Plan Cóndor, que atacó con golpes de estado a gran parte de Latinoamérica.

Es importante seguir hablando de esto, no dejemos que nadie se olvide de lo que paso en nuestro pais hace menos de cincuenta años. Hay que seguir buscando la verdad y nunca dejar de marchar cada 24 de marzo, para acompañar a las abuelas y madres de plaza de mayo. Por ellas, sus hijos y nietos, los pibes de malvinas, las víctimas de la noche de los lapices, y por todos y cada uno de los mas de 30.000 desaparecidos.

Por la memoria, la verdad y la justicia.

It should be always remembered that Argentina was perhaps the only country in modern history who persecuted its former military dictators, tried them for their crimes in a just and fair civilian court of law (the same right they denied to their victims), and imprisoned them for life in a common prison until their deaths. Despite the bumps in the road and the attempts at amnesty, justice was done. We talk about it as "the last dictatorship", not only because it was the latest and most infamous of a long string of dictatorships, but because after it, no dictators will rule over Argentina never again.

In an ideal world, this would be the fate of all tyrants.

in a move that I can only describe as nefarious, the new president of Argentina released a video, and then made a speech about it, that supports the theory of the two demons when it comes to the military dictatorship of '76. today, on the day we remember and demand justice for the victims of state terrorism.

it's not surprising because his vp is a genocide apologist who has made it her cause to release the military officers who have been processed for their part in the dictatorship, and they built their platform in no small measure around the question of "how do we even know it's 30,000 people?" (a number that isn't merely symbolic, but has an actual logic)

this is part of why terrorism can never be on equal ground with state terrorism. state terrorism means you can rewrite history. state terrorism means you can rewrite the rules to say who is a threat to national security. that's the same here as it is in !srael as it is everywhere.

this is why I'm terrified of the next four years. there have always been voices claiming this, but the moment the state is the one throwing their weight behind the stance that the victims must have done something, that it wasn't really that bad, that this has all been a lie for a secret purpose... that's a moment to be afraid.
