#now quackity's planning revenge on dream and techno

The scene with Quackity offering Wilbur the vice presidency in the needle, seemingly out of nowhere, has been stuck in my mind since quite ago.
And so I've been keeping this on my notes for a while now, but I think it's worth analyzing that scene to build Qs pov in HO16 and his mindset through LN streams. Even more important if it settled up how screwed he'd be on the increasing downfall following the burger arc.
Yeah so, the first time reading HO16 I couldn't get why did Q decide to do so in the first place, leaving a proposal that huge out of the blue that couldn't be taken just as an act of generosity of any sort, doesn't seem like a decision from someone that protective unless feeling he had the upper hand in the situation, as we've seen after. So the first answer I came up with is that it was a taunt, a whole plan set to make Wilbur feel deeply embarrassed as a way to take some sort of revenge on him.
But it seemed weird coming from someone whose main motto is moral justice, Wilbur had never been that cruel to make him want to develop such a situation and make him hurt that much.
And yes, throughout his whole character's arc he kept acting on "give others what they deserve" and "treat others as they treat you".
But it's interesting how this discourse goes along with how he treats the people on the hit list while taking revenge on them. With dream and techno, he longs for making them feel persecuted in such a raw way that paralyzes, as a helpless prey. While at meeting with Schlatt (and at his funeral), the topics of consumption and dehumanization are way more prominent considering the nature of their relationship, and how it ended.
Dream and techno made him feel like a frightened animal and Schlatt, as a low class of a person, a useless accessory.
But the relationship with Wilbur is different. Although still quite driven by resentment, he still has really good memories with the man and how positively he changed his life. That's why I can't view his behaviour in the needle reunion as completely spite-driven, it wouldn't explain why he is confused about Wilbur's reaction to the deal if he planned the whole thing. Q thought Wilbur would do some resistance but not as strong to make him decline, he did expect having Wilbur as his vice.
Which, doesn't make sense alone, but with the context of weeks where they've been doing this routine of bickering each other, spiting one another with almost harmless taunts, and reminiscing of the good times for quite a while. At least, time enough to make them both feel comfortable with playing along (just look how easy he agrees on following Wilbur to the van, knowing how over defensive he could get).
It does change the nature of his proposal, Quackity lowkey wanted to keep him near as well.
Ok, but the mockery was still there, not as harmful in intentions but still- Why taking any sort of ""revenge"" on him as well? Well...
*** (This comes mainly from Q's kinda more dramatic point of view) ***
— He was denied to belong to a nation, a community, he'd learned to love so dearly.
Outcasted not only because of not being British/part of the original cast (that one is emphasized as a tangible symbol more than the whole reason) but because of what he valued (the ingenue morale he had, his ideas of bettering the nation, the desire to make a difference) and what others thought he was capable of (the comic relief, Wilbur didn't think of him as a real threat at the start, "Let's prove them wrong")
"Wilbur showed him L'Manberg, the principles of a community, a home, the first piece of camaraderie and togetherness he stuck to; but which was denied to him."
— When he thought Wilbur saw him as an equal, with the respect enough to recognize each other's ambition and care, Wilbur goes and proposes a deal where he'll be most likely out of the big picture, taking him of a fool. "We could have been a coalition"
"His attempts at making Wilbur notice his value were nothing, he felt ridiculous for even trying."
— When everyone won L'Manberg back, Wilbur decided to destroy it because it didn't align with his version of L'Manberg.
"As if L'Manberg was only his to being with, fucking selfish."
— (And lowkey, bc he'll never admit it to his face) Q also resents him because he decided to fucking die and leave everyone who loved him behind (including himself); resents him for drifting away, and making him care that much for his departure.
"Wanted to go as the final theatrical release and made everyone who cared about him watch in helplessness."
***From all those reasons above, the only one which prevails conflicting and he will never actually fully blame Wilbur for, is the last. It's more of irrational thought, mainly based on his unresolved guilt, which he's aware of but can't help but feel sore. Because it was obvious that Pogtopia was a heinous time for both of them and, although Wil was spiraling, he just kept caring so much about everything***
So yeah, he felt he could only belong on Wilbur's terms, so that's why he decides to control Wilbur's involvement with Las Nevadas now.
The vice president thing for him is more of a "You're not an equal power in this nation, and still, you're not fully welcome" Rather than an "I'll enjoy your powerless attempts on making a difference and I'll treat you as less of a person" kind of spite.
The meaning behind it's not nearly as bitter on sense as his deal with Schlatt was. Where he wanted to make him feel humiliated, powerless and disposable as "his bitch".

In JMAH, when j!Quackity goes Butcher Army mode on j!Sam, how does the rest of the server's reactions differ from canon (i guess previous?) Butcher Army, if at all? (For example, IIRC it never grew any bigger than a 4-person militia in canon, and c!Tubbo was initially extremely reluctant to participate or endorse it.) Do you think that reluctance changes when it's j!Sam who's being targeted? Does anyone other than j!Techno agree to help break into the prison? Does j!Quackity bother trying to recruit anyone else?
SO!
Quackity's whole deal with j!Sam starts after he goes to propose the Las Nevadas deal shortly after the staged finale--just as he does in canon--and is very promptly and aggressively shut down by Sam, who is not having a repeat of canon, thank you very much. It's important to note that this happens on the 23rd, just a few scant days after the finale on the 20th, and therefore VERY little time has passed since j!Sam basically got time traveled into his old body on the 21st with Tommy about to visit Dream for the first time. Here's a post that goes into some of this.
To put it simply, Sam hasn't quite parsed through the difference in timelines yet in his head and acts in a lot of ways that read really, really strangely to Quackity. Combine that with Tommy getting all but thrown out of the prison in his first visit, the prison being completely shut down to visitors on that first day, and Sam all but disappearing immediately after Dream is imprisoned? Like--it looks fishy. And there's only two people on the server that have any idea of what's actually going on.
At first, Tommy and Quackity's attempts to get more info are...well, admittedly, not very well-thought out. Tommy has a grudge he's nursing and Quackity is curious--and wary. Being the Warden of Pandora's Vault means power, and Quackity is no stranger to power in the wrong hands. Tommy is genuinely angling for a break-in, while Quackity is more aiming for intel of any kind. What is going on in there, and why is Sam so determined to keep it all quiet?
Time passes. Sam's reputation gets worse--any poking in and around the prison is swiftly dealt with, often with threats of violence and cold anger. Sam's old friends haven't seen him outside the prison in weeks. Ponk doesn't manage to get the keycards, but ends up having a catastrophic (and very public) breakup with Sam anyway--there's a lot of yelling. It ends in violence and Sam stomping away, holing himself in the prison for even longer. Tommy and Quackity keep up the attempts at breaking in, and well--Sam gets sloppy. With Ghostbur in tow, they somehow manage to get themselves to the main cell, as is outlined here.
Afterwards, naturally, Quackity is gunning for revenge. Sure, Sam sure as hell doesn't seem to be working with Dream, but that doesn't fucking matter now. It's personal. With the Egg as ,, less of a threat, in some ways (Sam Boxed the thing as soon as he got back to this timeline--it was hardly a permanent solution, but Good Enough For Him Okay ?) and Sam being, well, less popular of a figure across the server because of [gestures] all of That, he ends up a sort of anti-Sam club. It never balloons to a huge thing, honestly--technically, Quackity has the support of his country behind him (Las Nevadas progresses slower than canon, considering the lack of help on the builds, but he ends up recruiting Foolish earlier and things end up happening more or less. The slower developments mean that things with his fiancés don't end up QUITE as disastrously, but the distance does end up creating tension as time passes.) The core group in the coalition, though, is just Quackity, Tommy, Technoblade (reluctantly recruited with plans of betrayal brewing), and Wilbur--who mostly invited himself and only comes to steal Quackity's cookies.
Quackity definitely thinks about recruiting more people...but honestly, his plan in terms of you know, getting revenge on the three biggest assholes on the server and making them pay at his own hand, well. That's not really made for a group project. That doesn't mean that he doesn't make it clear that Las Nevadas will fight if need be against any possible threats, and Sam deeeefinitely makes it onto the list of enemies if/when the slime clones happen. The server generally knows that Quackity isn't a fan of Sam--Tommy isn't the greatest at keeping things silent, and the whole "prison break-in only they got stopped by Sam who threw them out and also killed Quackity" thing definitely circulates around the server for some time. They're not exactly jumping the gun to take any collective action against Sam themselves...but well. He's definitely starting to run low on allies.

ok here is my attempt at a watsonian explanation of what on earth is going on with c!tubbo recently (as opposed to the doylian 'cc!tubbo just Felt Like It and wasn't considering characterisation' which i'm p sure is the unfortunate True Reason). partly bc i'm salty but partly bc hear me out ok. idk if this is Anything and i don't actually fully believe this, but just. i'm trying my best to make this all make some sort of sense.
so.
/rp
the reason tubbo has been so Off is 1) the context of his last interaction with tommy and 2) the revengers.
tubbo’s reasoning for his current (lack of) relationship with tommy:
tubbo would've checked in on tommy at some point, but as far as he knows, tommy is spending a lot of time hanging around wil. after all, the last time they saw each other was when tubbo distanced himself from tommy's project that he was doing for wil to make quackity upset. tubbo Does Not want to be around wil. and he didn't want to escalate things between himself and quackity at the time, and then he was hired by quackity, and then the incident with wilbur's tnt and quackity's horse ended in ranboo losing a canon life.
after hiding from dream in the immediate aftermath of the prison break, tubbo found about about ranboo's death and michael's kidnapping. so he teamed up with eret and techno to avenge them. the whole time, he was tunnel-visioned on that revenge against sam, spurred on by the other two revengers. he didn't focus on anything else. nothing else mattered in those moments, not even tommy.
and then the revenge was complete, and it felt good. it felt Just. so it was difficult to try to reconcicle that with the idea that techno also deserved vengeance against him. especially since tubbo knows that that idea isn't safe anyway. so he doesn't think on it any more. it won't do anything good for anyone.
tubbo and tommy are still friends! but tubbo has come to tommy offering help before. tommy didn't take it; he didn't want to live in the safety of snowchester with him. he wanted to do his own thing. and now he's with wilbur again. if tommy is still with wil outside las nevadas, then he at least has someone. buuuut unfortunately that someone is wil, who tubbo doesn't want to see. when tommy needs tubbo's help, he comes to tubbo for it. so if he needs tubbo's help now, he'll let him know. and if it doesn't involve a shady plan of wilbur's, tubbo will say yes, of course.
tubbo’s reasoning behind what he did to aimsey today:
up until the revengers, seeking revenge/violence did not work out for tubbo. it only ever got him hurt more.
but, side by side with the man who responds to every perceived slight with incredible violence and has never had his life ruined for it, tubbo got his brutal revenge. and not only did it feel good...he never got any backlash for it. the total success of the revengers taught tubbo that, aimed at people it is safe to be upset with, violent revenge actually can be acceptable and effective.
so then later, he finds out aimsey has moved into the home that he and his dead husband and their child only didn't move into because bad things just kept happening to them. he finds out that ghostboo is the one who gave it away. aimsey calls ghostboo "ranboo".
ghostboo is not ranboo. ranboo did not give away the mansion, because ranboo is dead. ranboo is dead. ranboo lost all three lives, and tubbo had no idea he'd even been on his last one. tubbo's husband is dead, and the ghost wearing his form says that's a good thing, insults and mocks him, has the audacity to give away what he and tubbo and their child were supposed to share and be happy together as a family in.
that house was supposed to be theirs. so to tubbo, even though he can't bring himself to move in, that doesn't mean it isn't still theirs. still his. ghostboo had no right to give it away, and aimsey has no right to live there. so tubbo says he'll evict aimsey and demands a fight in exchange for aimsey's daisy. a fight he's confident he'll win. because he won't be overpowered this time. he is the overpowered side this time.
aimsey refuses to fight. pleads for peace. but tubbo knows by now that pleading for peace never works, and that pursuing peace just means letting yourself be walked over. the only universal language is violence, and now that tubbo's finally been heard, he wants to yell and yell and yell.
he keeps goading because he wants the catharsis of violence. but aimsey won't give him that.
so maybe...maybe if he can't release some of the pain he's feeling, he can just. feel a different pain. a simpler pain.
he changes his demands. he takes off his armour. aimsey doesn't have to fight a losing battle against him.
aimsey just has to hit him.
just once.
but she won’t even do that. she strides towards him, and he backs away (because he doesn’t want to fight, not really. he doesn’t want to be hurt anymore, not really). and now it’s her demanding that he be violent, and the fear that had spiked in him is replaced with his previous anger, and he wants the catharsis so so bad and she's giving him what he wants isn't she and he is so angry and hurt and she's right in front of him now and so he hits her off the path and. and the ground drops steeply on that side of the path. and it’s a long way down. and it kills her. and he didn’t actually mean to kill her with that hit, and he does feel bad…
...but he also doesn’t really mean it when he tells aimsey he’s sorry.

Y’know, it just hit me why the latest tubbo lore stream seemed so off.
It was the fact that, thematically, it’s completely at odds with how the story has always portrayed revenge- and that’s, consistently, that it does not work. It drives you into ruining your life and hurting others for nothing but a hollow, empty Pyrrhic victory at best.
The Butchers Army’s desire for revenge over Techno led to disaster, one of them dying, and the eventual destruction of their country. Tommy wanting revenge for exile, both against Dream and L’Manburg, lead to him going down a villain arc, hurting his best friend, losing another completely, and hating himself because all he could see in himself was his abuser. Niki’s desire for revenge against those she deemed responsible for the loss of her innocence destroyed her mental health. Jack’s desire for revenge against Tommy left him completely isolated and miserable. Quackity’s desire for revenge lead to him having his best friend killed, along with distancing himself from everyone he ever loved and becoming a miserable shell of a person. Wilbur’s desire for revenge against Quackity got one of the few people who trusted him killed.
But here? Tubbo gets brutal revenge against Sam. Leaving him to slowly starve to death inside a small, enclosed area. But this isn’t portrayed as the desperate acts of a grieving widow, driven to the extreme. It’s a #girlboss moment. It’s triumphant. It’s a victory for Tubbo, not a loss. And that just feels… incredibly jarring? What about this makes his desire for revenge against Sam any less destructive than every other case? Why is this a victory, while the others are tragedies? It just feels completely off, in a narrative sense.
Obviously, this is just one lore stream, and we don’t know what’s planned later. But right now, this just feels incredibly off. It just feels really contrary to the themes the rest of the story- including Tubbo’s own story- have laid out, for no good reason? It’s not like his actions are any better than Jacks, yet Tubbo is handed a moral and literal victory while Jack suffers.

no because im brainrotting so hard on this au <3
does dream ever break down in front of people? or is there ever a full reveal of what happened during + after the prison?
c!Dream has his moments of letting stuff slip. But his truest break down comes in very violent form.
I mentioned before that Dream reveals his hybrid form to everyone so he can fight back after losing his weapon. By this point, the syndicate already knows about him and c!Techno has helped him train to fight with his hybrid form basically for this situation.
What I didn't mention was the person who got him weaponless was c!Quackity (being helped by c!Fundy and c!Hannah). Quackity gets him pinned and believes he's won. He chooses to gloat for a moment. This, was a mistake.
Dream, furious and ready for revenge after everything Quackity did to him, drops his mask and tears into Quackity. It's such a shock to everyone else that nobody can react in time to help Quackity, so that man dies. In the aftermath, Dream snaps into himself and realizes either he gets away now or he's taking a lot more lives. So he bolts outta there, reclaiming his weapon and half running half flying off. Nobody follows him on account of; Uh.... what the fuck??? and also Dude just flew off and the only other person w/flight on the server is on his side.
The Syndicate gets home and expects to meet Dream there, only for 24 hours to pass without him showing up. Techno wants to go look for him, but c!Phil and c!Tubbo think it's better to give him time to cool off. Particularly given that due to limited time in his hybrid form, Dream experiences instincts to a pretty extreme degree when stressed. It takes some debate, but the syndicate agrees to give him 72 hours before doing anything.
c!Ranboo agrees to this and promptly forgets, wonders where Dream is, and then goes to track him down based on nothing but Vibes (Endermen instinct telling him where the dragon is). Dream is... Well he's a mess to say the least. His instincts are telling him to kill just about anything that comes his way. It's freaking him out and when added to having to be near Quackity at all. He just. Breaks a little bit. Ranboo knows the least of what went on in the prison and secondary cell. Just that conditions were bad enough to leave Dream still recovering from the effects more than 2 months after when he got revived. The only person in the Syndicate that knows Quackity tortured Dream was Techno, although Phil suspected something of the sort.
In a bad place, trying to sort himself out, Dream opens up to Ranboo. More specifically, he explains why it took so long to revive him. Why Dream was incapable of writing for so long. He spares some of the gorey details, but he doesn't shy away from how much it hurt. How much it still hurts. The level of nerve damage done. Just how much Quackity took from him. How much Sam took from him. Ranboo listens quietly. Out of shock and respect.
At the end of the story, Ranboo doesn't hug him. But he shuffles up to sit right next to Dream. Looks away so he doesn't see the tears at the corners of Dream's eyes.
"That's fucking rough." It's an understatement. "I'm glad you killed him." After a long pause, Ranboo finally finds something he could do to help. "Do you want me to shoo the others off so you can go hide in your den?"
And that- That sounds really nice. Dream only hesitates a moment.
"Can I take Michael? I just- Quackity was never near him, but. Some part of me-." It's too hard to explain, but Ranboo gets it.
"Yeah, he's missed you a lot. It'll be good for both of you. Just head down and I'll get him from Tubbo."
Plan in place, the two of them head home. Dream feeling a bit of weight off his chest, and Ranboo feeling like he finally got a piece of the puzzle he's been trying to fit back together. It's good. For them.
For Sapnap, who overheard almost everything, it's his entire world crashing down around him.
While Sapnap had sworn off hunting Dream after their encounter, he... Well, he made an exception after hearing that Dream turned into a fucking half-dragon and murdered his fiance. Not that he was planning to hurt Dream, he was just hoping for answers. It only took a minute to dig out the old manhunt compass that he'd sworn to Quackity he lost ages ago (fuck, it makes sense now why Quackity was so pushy about it. why he almost screamed at Sapnap over it. how he'd found Q looking through his stuff and what if he'd found it-). Then he was off, following Dream while ensuring he wasn't being followed himself.
When he'd finally found him, Sapnap was trying to decide how to handle the sight of his former best friend as a? A hybrid? Cursed? Experimented on? Who fucking knew. Before he could make up his mind, Ranboo had shown up, and then the truth came out.
Sapnap got his answers. And he lost one more person. Someone he thought he could trust. Someone who he'd vented his frustrations about Dream to (was that why? was it because of him? if he'd been less hot headed, if he'd been more open and admitted he still loved his brother. would Q have still done it? he didn't know he didn't know he didn't). Someone who he'd loved. Gone once again. Leaving him stranded, unsure of where to go from here. If there even is anywhere to go.

techno & doomsday as a deliberate choice
aka 'it makes sense that this is the fight c!techno chooses on his own'
i've been thinking about this a lot, about c!techno and the fights he's been in, and how he's felt used and lied to about most of them. the imagery from the recent sad-ist animatic definitely inspired some of my thoughts here.
through some wild miscommunication, c!techno genuinely believed that the reason he was called in to support pogtopia to get rid of the government, especially after c!wilbur said that he was on board with the whole anarchism thing. so while techno went into this fight of his own choice, it wasn't for the reason that he thought. if he had been approached and told, 'we're going to overthrow this government and set up a new one, without an election, in its place', he wouldn't have agreed in the first place. the goal and the end result of this fight wasn't one that he would've chosen himself.
unsurprisingly, there aren't many conflicts/fights that c!techno has been in but those also conflicts that fall under 'for someone else' or 'not by choice'. the pet war was something techno wasn't involved in except through c!tommy, who called on him to back him up in the fight. techno certainly did it and he did it willingly (though i don't doubt that it influenced his opinion; when techno says 'you only ever saw me as the blade', he's not just talking about nov. 16th) but it was for someone else.
the next example would be the confrontation with the butcher army. this is one that techno was quite literally forced into. he begged them multiple times to leave, that he didn't want to fight, and only resorted to violence when it became clear they wouldn't leave him alone. this was not a fight he entered by choice. (and arguably i'd say that, while i've been leaving 1v1 conflicts off the list, the fight between him and c!quackity is the same.)
but doomsday is different.
doomsday is something c!techno had been planning since his execution. it was personal, it was revenge, and while if certain things hadn't occurred his involvement might have been different, it was something he chose.
at the green festival, c!dream asks techno if he wants to help him destroy new l'manberg and techno asks if dream is 'calling in [his] favor' to which dream says no, because techno would do it anyway, something that techno readily agrees with.
there is no hidden motivation: dream is clear he intends to bring the city down to bedrock. it'll be gone. all the resources used by techno are things that he had already gathered for the same purpose. techno brings his ally and friend, c!phil, into the plan despite dream's initial attempt to keep him out of it.
all three of them have equal part in the plan: phil is given the wither skulls by techno so that he can act as a distraction (a smart move because it effectively stopped them from focusing on dream), techno is on the ground because his hound army is pretty much exclusively affective there and because his reputation is one that will draw a lot of focus (during the battle they call out to focus on the withers and then 'the blade', never focusing on dream), and dream focused on the redstone to bring l'manberg to bedrock.
(the risk is also equal, tbh, and there's a bit of irony in the fact that people erase both techno and phil's part in doomsday, that dream is essentially the only one to face consequences, and that people think of doomsday as another instance of someone using techno as a weapon when it's the battle he's picked.)
techno chooses this fight; it not only aligns with his ideals (getting rid of the government) but also his personal grudges (which is more of a factor). and it's clear that techno himself feels this way.
'i'm choosing what i fight for now', he says.
and what i find really interesting about that line is the fact he's stayed true to it.
the red banquet was a choice that techno made. he didn't want to team up with c!quackity but this was a moment to truly fight for his ideals and nothing else. he made that choice, to put any discomfort he felt by working with quackity aside because it was the right thing to do. it's what he wanted to fight for, what he's always said he wants to fight for.
to me, there's something interesting about how techno came into the story, called in to serve as a weapon for a cause that wasn't exactly what he thought it was, fought for his agency and to be seen as a person, and now is able to decide what he fights for. and the how of it as well, now able to change his tactics as seen with the syndicate.

OK so I really liked your sheep reader because my persona is a sheep. I was wondering if yoy can write sheep reader getting attacked by someone on the SMP to get leverage over technoblade and how techno would react to that? If reader lives or dies is up to you. If you don't wanna do this please don't respond I'd be embarrassed outta my mind. BTW do you do anons? If so can I be 🐏 anon?
Hallo, thank you for the request!
Actually yeah, I've been wanting to make a blog for my moots and anons so you can certainly be my first ever anon, 🐏 anon ^^
Hope you enjoy
C!Technoblade × Sheep!Reader pt. 2
Tumblr media
Part I
Click here before requesting, please <3
So I imagine this happening a few months after the whole "Hog Hunt" tragedy
You had to help Dream and Punz free Techno before they killed him
You were very relieved to see he actually had a Totem of undying
So you led Techno away with Carl
And that's where Quackity first got a glance of you
Finally, a weak point in the famous blood god
After months of planning, and stalking you to make sure that everything would go smoothly, he finally decided to make his move
He was planning on kidnapping you, the cute but weak little sheep, so he could torture Techno and maybe get one of his lives to get his revenge
Like stealing candy from a child, right?
Oh, he couldn't have been more wrong
He tried to sneak attack you while you were farming but you quickly hit him with one of your tools, almost knocking him out
Let's just say that dating the blood god has it's perks
Quackity, now angry, threw himself on your again, his blade leaving a very small cut on your cheek, but was quickly stopped by a very familiar hand
"I don't know why you're trying to hit my partner, but it's best if you stop now."
Technoblade was more than mad. One thing is attacking him, but attacking the love of his life was a whole other story
Needless to say that the voices in his head were going crazy chanting "Kill him, who does he think he is touching our love, fimish him"
Of course Quackity wouldn't leave without one last fight, but after he was completely gone all of Techno's attention was on you
Quickly checking that you were ok, making sure that you weren't hurt anywhere
You had to assure him many times that you just had a tiny scratch on your cheek, and that you were perfectly fine
He also praised you for being brave and able to defend yourself before he got there
He's gonna be overprotective for the next few weeks, always keeping an eye on you and his surroundings
Even if he knows that you are capable of defending yourself, it doesn't hurt to be a little extra careful
And you of course are there to calm him down and make him relax every once in a while

Why Technoblade is an unreliable narrator
I’ve seen a lot of viewers idolizing c!Technoblade and saying it didn’t make sense that Tommy left him in the end. I watch Technoblade’s streams, but also everyone else’s. I think there’s a lot of overlap in viewers who idolize him and those who don’t have any context other than what comes from his character’s POV. As someone who has watched all POV’s here is why I disagree that “Technoblade has done no wrong” “Techno helps everyone and just gets betrayed” and “Tommy backstabbed Techno!”
I disagree with all of these statements and I don’t think c!Technoblade is a victim despite his personal monologue insinuating that. Let’s start at the beginning.
Technoblade joined to help Wilbur and Tommy with the intention of taking down Shlatt. He preached for anarchy and chaos. Although he was clear about the from the beginning, the people he was allied with didn’t agree with that. Wilbur was driven to that point AFTER Technoblade had already been allied with them. Tommy NEVER wanted to “destroy all government” his goal was always just to take down Shlatt and return to his home. Technoblade ignored the wishes of his only two allies and continued to entertain the idea in his own head of completely destroying L’Manberg. That was never an agreement, he made that decision on his own AGAINST the will of his only friends, Tommy and Wilbur.
Technoblade, on the other hand, was keeping secrets from them. He had withers prepared before they even put Tubbo in charge. Behind all of their backs he conspired with Wilbur and DREAM to destroy L’Manberg just as soon as they’d won it back. That is betrayal. No one betrayed Technoblade because they never promised him anarchy in the first place.
This is where his narration becomes unreliable. In his speech he brings up making all the gear for his new allies and then them betraying him when they used that gear to take back L’Manberg. He called that a betrayal even though it was CLEAR FROM THE BEGINNING WHAT THEIR INTENTIONS WERE ( the beginning being when Quackity and the others joined Pogtopia to help Tommy and the intentions being stopping L’Manberg’s destruction by Wilbur and ending Schlatt’s administration ). Technoblade calling this a betrayal is delusional.
The second thing his character is unreliable about is his “retirement.” When Technoblade set withers upon L’Manberg he caused pain and destruction, but also ultimately committed crimes against L’Manberg. He also vowed to them before disappearing into the wilderness that he would continue to destroy the government. When the Butcher Army arrived at his doorstep asking to answer for his crimes he claimed to be in retirement. Fleeing from a crime scene and then not committing crimes for awhile doesn’t excuse you from the original crime. Butcher Army coming for Technoblade was not entirely unreasonable the way c!Technoblade paints it to be. Technoblade was a war criminal and a threat and it made perfect sense for them to pursue him. Putting Phil under house arrest crossed a line, but going after Technoblade was not unreasonable for L’Manberg to do.
As for Technoblade’s relationship with Tommy in particular this is something that c!Technoblade is completely deluded about. Pogtopia days, Tommy did consider Technoblade a friend. The one thing that changed that was when Technoblade worked with Wilbur and Dream to BLOW UP LMANBERG. The ONE THING Tommy fought for, at least at the time. Technoblade dropped Tommy as soon as he realized that working with Wilbur and Dream (behind the backs of Tommy and everyone else) would get him his personal goal of anarchy. He betrayed Tommy first when he made that decision.
When Tommy holed up in Technoblade’s basement, Tommy stayed because Techno told him that he’d help him get the discs back. But Tommy was clear with Techno the whole time that he didn’t want to do anything to hurt Tubbo. Tommy always said no to plans that would hurt Tubbo, Technoblade would brush him off constantly and say things along the lines of “we’ll work out the details later.” Tommy never budged on not wanting to hurt Tubbo, despite Technoblade’s constantly insisting that Tubbo is bad and didn’t care about Tommy.
Technoblade was breeding anger and feelings of betrayal in Tommy in trying to convince him his best friend didn’t care about him, the same thing Dream was doing the weeks before while Tommy was in Logstedshire. Convincing Tommy that he didn’t really belong in L’Manberg was the only way to make him pliable and useful to both Technoblade and Dream. By pushing on Tommy that he should leave his friends (L’Manberg) behind, they were turning him into a bad guy. A person only motivated my personal gain (the discs) and that cares for no one.
After threatening Fundy, Technoblade told Tommy that he finally had respect for him. Finally believing that Tommy didn’t care about his old friends in L’Manberg anymore and was solely motivated by the discs, he revealed his plans to destroy L’Manberg. Tommy never agreed to this and was frankly horrified that what happened between him and Wilbur was happening again. He had no where to go and stayed with Technoblade but expressed clear discomfort in Techno’s plans to destroy L’Manberg.
Now for what Techno calls “Tommy’s final betrayal.” When Tommy stands by Tubbo at the community house and leaves Technoblade. To show why this was completely justified on Tommy’s part I’m going to draw comparisons to one of my favorite works of fiction: Avatar The Last Airbender. At the end of Book 2: Earth Zuko betrays Iroh and returns with Azula to the Fire Nation. Zuko’s time there makes him realize that he cares more about doing the right thing and being the PERSON HE WANTS TO BE than staying with his family and hurting people. Tommy leaves Technoblade for the same reason Zuko leaves Azula. Tommy does not want to be the type of person that would stay with Techno.
Tommy and Tubbo were in a screaming match. After Tommy regurgitated line after line that Dream and Techno had been feeding him. “You left me to die!” and all that jazz about choosing L’Manberg over him. The thing that stopped it was Tommy saying “ Those discs were worth more than you ever were!” Everyone went silent. Tommy stopped everything and realized that he had become a deplorable person and he was saying things he didn’t really mean. Caring more about discs than his friendship w Tubbo was Dreams plan all along and exactly what Technoblade had been feeding him. Tommy dropped everything to stand by Tubbo because he was mature enough to realize that he was the farthest he had ever been from the person the wanted to be, and the closest to being the villains he had been fighting his whole life. Whether it was intentional or not, Technoblade was the person who drove him to become that person. Dream started it, but Technoblade finished the job.
Technoblade felt betrayed, Tommy left him. But it was the only thing Tommy could do and still hold on to the person he wanted to be. Tommy cares about his friends, Tommy has been with L’Manberg since the beginning and has always done what he could to save those he cared about even if it meant personal sacrifice. That’s who Tommy is. The Tommy that Technoblade wanted to be allies with was a person who would help hurt and destroy L’Manberg. Someone who cared more about discs than his lifelong friends. That Tommy never really existed, he was always uncomfortable with Technoblade’s revenge plans. If Technoblade really listened to Tommy, and cared about what he thought, he would know that Tommy could never be the cold heartless person that Technoblade could use to achieve his personal revenge on L’Manberg.
Ultimately, the Tommy that Technoblade needed to help him and/ or stand by and watch him destroy L’Manberg doesn’t exist. It goes against everything that has been established about who Tommy is and what motivates him. To stay true to himself, Tommy could not possible stay with Technoblade and become a stubborn, cold hearted, vengeful person.
That “betrayal” was the most mature decision Tommy has ever made in canon and I WONT STAND BY AND LET YALL SAY IT WAS UNJUSTIFIED JUST BECAUSE IT WASNT WAHT TECHNOBLADE WANTED.
Technoblade is a villain, just because he has a reason for wanting to blow up and destroy everything doesn’t make him a better person for it. He is not moral and never has been. His goal from the beginning has been taking something so many people cared about, L’Manberg, and destroying it because he, personally, is an anarchist. That is an ideology, but it is not the only one. Technoblade wanting to destroy L’Manberg is pushing his values onto others through force and makes him more of a tyrant than every leader of L’Manberg combined. He is flawed just like every other character. The difference that I see is that his character never reflects and admits any wrongdoing on his own part, only blaming others for not agreeing with him and ultimately leaving him.

So I wanted to make a post to... Try and sum up what I think are all of the current ongoing plot lines/character arcs happening right now?
First off, we've got the ongoing disc war; Tommy and Tubbo are planning to go after Dream to try and kill him to get the discs back so they can finally put an end to everything once and for all. They're... Pretty much alone, it's just the two of them right now, planning to fight dream. They've been building a training room under Tommy's home to prepare.
Next, we have Tubbo's new home - where he's trying to build the town of Snowchester in order to have somewhere new to stay, so that he might give some of the people of ex-L'Manburg a place to live.
We've got Wilbur's Resurrection arc - where Phil, Ranboo, Eret and Fundy are trying to resurrect Wilbur so that he can lead the people once more, and so Fundy can have a dad. They've already gone and collected a bunch of totems of undying after trying to kill Wilbur twice to resurrect him ended up summoning the ghost of Schlatt.
We've got the bloodvines arc - where BadBoyHalo, Skeppy, Antfrost, Puffy and Awesamdude discovered a strange egg-plant-thing in BBH's statue room. Initially they didn't worry much until it's vines began spreading over the server and it started possessing people, leading to them sealing it in the room after Skeppy was possessed. Everything was fine until today, when BBH revealed he'd been fully corrupted and brought Ant, Punz and Puffy under it's Thrall with plans to do the same to Sam. They plan to have the egg take over the server so the Badlands can eventually rule and have started the spread by planting seeds of the egg at the bottom of the L'Manburg crater.
We've got the Prison that Awesamdude built, known as Pandora's vault - a massive impregnable building that exists to lock up prisoners with no chance of escape, with things like interweaving layers of obsidian walls, KEYCARD doors and guardians to stack mining fatigue.
That's all of the current arcs, now onto personal character arcs!
Tommy and Tubbo : After repairing their relationship to a degree, the two have agreed to fight together to get the discs back and take down Dream. They've both said they're not sure what they're going to do after this.
Dream : Appears to have disappeared for the time being after destroying L'Manburg.
Punz - Generally a factionless mercenary, was paid by Dream to be his inside man when he left, which he has. Unsure of how this relates to his supposed possession by the egg.
BBH and Skeppy - Both taken over by the egg, seeking to expand and grow the Eggpire to take over the SMP.
Puffy - Wants to become stronger, to live up to her role as a knight under Eret. Seeks to do what's right, no matter who it might hurt - has renounced Dream as her duckling and only pretended to be under the egg's Thrall. Is doing a training arc.
Nicki and Jack Manifold - Both see Tommy as the cause of all of the issues. Both want to get revenge on Tommy and the others who took down L'Manburg; Jack has joined Snowchester to get closer to Tubbo and eventually Tommy, but still seems to respect Tubbo. Still building manifoldland, his own nation.
Quackity - Has gone off on his own for the time being; seeks to devise a plan so that he might take down Dream with, sees him at his major enemy. Still hates Techno and the like, but sees Dream as the cause of everything.
Fundy - Let down by people time and time again, he's lost faith in people and has decided to stop trying to make people happy and work with them; instead seeks to cause chaos and destruction, following in his father's footsteps. Wanted to be friends with Ranboo but scared him off.
Ranboo - after Doomsday, left to go live with Phliza and Technoblade, seeing as they had no side and instead only cared about each other. Likes people, instead of sides. Suffering from steadily worsening memory issues and blackouts, built a panic room that he began to talk to a voice in his head with Dream's voice in, which told him about things he did during his blackouts. Reverts back to a base roaming enderman form whenever he gets heavily anxious. Recently found out that he, during one of his blackouts, was given one of the two discs by Dream for safekeeping... Which also meant he destroyed the community House. Is in a deep state of concern and self-doubt.
Technoblade - after the destruction of L'Manburg, seeks to live in peace again - at least as far as we know. Owes a favour to Dream for something in the future.
Philza - Wants to resurrect Wilbur to get his son back; has been researching necromancy ever since Wilbur's death in order to figure out how to bring him back, and has been working with Eret and Fundy to do so.
Eret - Current king of the server, unsatisfied with Dream's tyrannical rule over everything and his own actions that led to his position on the Throne. Wants to make the server a better place and wants to bring Wilbur back to make amends and hopefully let him lead people once more.
WilburSoot - Now dead, wants to come back so they can rule over the server, according their speeches as a ghost. Is afraid of being killed because he believes Ghostbur would cease to be, but feels that it's best for the server if Alivebur comes back.
Keep in mind, this isn't everyone on the server! This is just the characters who seem to be in the middle of having active character arcs and developments!
Hopefully this helps anyone who's confused with what's going on in the server right now!

Ngl I feel like Q is the most likely to change. Hes undergone a lot of character developement, and it doesnt seem like hes going to stop. The charlie thing made him reconsider some things i think. Dream as far as i can tell hasnt actually changed that much during the dsmp. Maybe he became a bit more willing to do whatever it takes to reach his goal but its not like he wasnt ruthless before.
/rp /dsmp
[for DreamXD’s purposes… it depends on what kind of change he wants!]
Quackity’s changed a decent amount since he first entered that cell to torture Dream. We haven’t seen much of him since Dream escaped (or even since Techno escaped), so it’s slightly hard to gauge precisely what his new priorities are.
I think that the main thing that Charlie/the lessons culminating in Charlie’s death made Quackity reevaluate was not so much the lengths he’s willing to go to get what he wants, but his perspective on revenge. Like, I don’t think he regrets the torture in any meaningful sense, even if (in practical terms) he might regret the grudge he’s sure Dream now holds against him, and even if as things stand today he might not do it now. Quackity’s still a brutal guy! He still thinks Dream deserved it. I think it’s less that he regrets or dislikes his own brutality and more that he’d like to emphasize the things he wants to build over the things he’d like to destroy. He can better see that a cycle of vengeance goes nowhere, even if he still thinks vengeance is justified.
And even before Charlie, it’s important to remember that, unprompted, Quackity did stop the torture! It wasn’t Sam or Dream or Techno who chose the timing of when Quackity decided to lay off. That was all Quackity’s decision, and that decision was wrapped up in his desire to spend more time with Charlie, preparing for some inevitable demise that he feared to be intrinsically linked to the vengeance he sought. And then his worst fears turned out to be right in ways he hadn’t predicted: Techno escaped him and sought no retribution on him, but Purpled sure as hell did.
Quackity has a plan ready to deal with whatever he’s predicted as Dream’s vengeance, and it’s kill or be killed. One of my favorite moments in the post prison escape streams was Q’s moment of obvious surprise when Tommy told him that Dream had come for him. Like, you could just tell that he was expecting Dream to instantly come for him or for no one.
I think that Dream has definitely changed since the start of the server, and that prison has deeply changed him too, in ways he’s still unraveling, and in ways he is trying to deny. Thought I think you’re absolutely right that his core priorities and ruthlessness have not changed a bit, and that a fair part of this is a coping mechanism.
It’s Sam who’s the most stagnant. If his death at Dream’s hands forces him to reevaluate… well. Then we’ll see. (Pokes cc!Sam with stick)

Words in red colour are Technoblade's voices.
Words in blue colour are Y/N thoughts.
Prison alarms again were wild, in the air was smoke, walls cracked under withers and tnt power, Dream and Technoblade were running out, masked man jut got out of obsidian cage, they needed to reach roof, which wasn't so easy.
"How long can you run?" Technoblade asked in hurry.
"Not long, my wounds are still fresh and I didn't have time or occasion to practise." He responsed with growl.
"How long after potions?"
"Depends... but they will help a lot for sure."
Piglin hybrid nodded, when Dream responded, he was badly injured, but didn't complain about it. For now, all prison's secruity were on, none could go in and out. Sam was probably on his way to find them. Giant explosion shook prison to the base.
"What the hell was that?" Dream asked trying to find balance.
"Phil is having great time I guess, he is there to took whole attention. None should think, that we are here." Technoblade smiled a little.
'Destroy it to the ground!' 'Free the green man!' 'Take revenge on those idiots!'
After breaking through some security doors and obstacles, they reached the roof, it was raining and dark clouds covered the sky, Dream took deep breath, finally some fresh air! Prison again shook and they could spot almost two Withers flying up high, the hole, wasn't close to edge.
"Here." Technoblade handed him strenght, healing and regeneration potions.
Masked man drank them fast, with sigh of relief, slighty his wounds started to disappear, then piglin hybrid gave him armour and weapons, including sword and axe. After few minutes he was done, adrenaline was running through his veins aside with potions. Now, he was ready to fight, to take revenge.
"Now, we are jumping to the water."
"But they will see us and wait in land..." Dream said confused by this idea.
"I have water breathing potions. We are going to dive and climb up to the coast far away."
Masked man nodded, then they moved to the edge, unfortunately, Quackity was going around in full armor with weapons, their eyesight met for a short time. Dream bowed playfuly, then he and Techno jumped from the roof, straight into the deep water.
Green man would lie, if he said that cold, fresh water was bothering him, he enjoyed that dive with each inch of his body. Under the surface Technoblade handed him potion and after drinking, they swam away from the main SMP part, meanwhile Quackity was running as hell for Sam and Las Nevadas citizens. Dream was free, so they needed to prepare. Now everyone was in danger, the most powerful persons just teamed up.
Fugitives landed in spruce forest, far away from prison, checking all stuff Technoblade looked around.
"They will chase us..."
"Yea, so what is the plan?" Dream asked also looking around.
"We need to reach desert, but now, have to be sure, that they aren't on our tail."
"You think, that entire SMP will search us?"
"Not really... there are persons, that are afraid of you and there are my allies." Piglin hybrid said looking at him. "Let's nap, then eat fast."
}*{
Alarms were so loud, that even Ranboo heard them in Snowchester. Michael was curious about them, what was happening, but cold shiver went down on teenager spine. Dream was free, that meant, that everyone was in danger, especially Tommy and Tubbo since he had his armor. But how he got out? Why now, after all this months? Enderboy swallowed hard. When he had strange feelings, that all his nightmares, just came true?
Phil successfully left prison area, after Quackity spotted Techno and Dream jumping off the edge. He was in tundra already, preparing everything, if something would go wrong. Wilbur was standing on bridge and smoking cigarette, looking at the sky.
"So he's free?"
Winged man sighed and stopped near his son, also looking up.
"I guess... does this bother you?"
"No, not at all, not now." Wilbur smiled slighty.
"Good. Do you have any plans?"
"Maybe. For now I am just observing and learning new situations."
Phil nodded and moved, to do rest things. Wilbur thought and was mysterious a lot, since his revival, but noned could blame him. Not everyday, you are coming back from dead.
Tommy thought, that he would panic and scream when prison alarms would appear, but there he were, staying in Ranboo and Tubbo mansion, looking at the celling.
"What do we do now?"
"I don't know... I could end it properly, but I failed. Now the green man is free..." He sighed cutting the sentence.
"And we are in danger..." Ranboo ended for him.
"Yes. But not only he is a danger, who could break him out Ranboo? What do you think?"
Now Ranboo sighed, looking at his friend.
"The only person, that could do it, is Technoblade. Technoblade and Phil."
"Yes and that means, that they are working with green teletuby. Most powerful trio versus whole SMP. Last time they have blown up the nation..." Tommy covered his face with his hands.
"We will go through this. Whatever it takes and whatever it brings." Ranboo smiled gently.
Tommy smiled back, it all was easier with friends on your side. Maybe that was why Technoblade did this? Because he needed allies?
}*{
Technoblade destroyed campfire traces and Dream got ready to leave. They have eaten and napped a while.
"So we are heading to the desert now?" Masked man asked and Technoblade nodded in response.
He looked around, they went deeper into spruce forest, to avoid chase and get better after breaking out.
"It's very far away, how we are going to make ot quickly?"
"I have hidden horses near the desert. We are going to get them."
"But how we find them and navigate way?" Dream got annoyed.
"Relax bro, you are talking to human GPS." Technoblade smiled to him.
When they were gathering things, forest silence distrubed loud dogs barking, which was coming from SMP side.
"What the...?"
"They got the dogs, to track us...! Run!" Techno yelled and grabbed his stuff, Dream followed his steps and did the same.
Barking was close in each minute, they made their way through the forest roughly, but quickly. Dogs noises started to be hearing with voices, and they could recognise Sam and Quackity. They tried to lost them, by changing way of running, but it was worthless, soon first dogs showed, one even dared to jump on Technoblade, but he dodged fast.
"I am not a fan of killing animals actually..." He said looking back.
"Me neither, we can't lead them to horses."
Techno nodded in response. "We need to fight, you can do this?"
Without words, Dream pulled axe and shield. Both stopped, facing the side, which probably enemies were coming. Dogs approached and circled them with low growls. Quackity and Sam stepped in their sight, both armored in enchanted netherite, potions hanging from belts, behind them were Foolish, Eret, Sapnap and Purpled, with same sets.
"Where do you think you are going?" Big Q asked with dark tone.
'Blood for the Blood God!' 'Blood for the Blood God!' 'Blood for the Blood God!'
"Far away from you actually." Technoblade crossed his arms.
"I just can't believe Techno, you always cause so much chaos, problems and anarchy, when do you fucking stop and let us live?" Sam got annoyed by his mood.
"If you remember, I retired, wanted to chill, but no, you formed Butcher Army and tried to execute me, but well it went bad for you. Then after all, I found someone close and you attacked me, trying to take Y/N away from me." Piglin hybrid said coldly.
"Should I reminded you, that you kidnapped her? And locked in cottage?" Foolish said looking into his eyes.
"She has told you, that violence was not necessary, but you kept attacking!"
"Don't talk like it's our fault, when it's clearly yours." Quackity hissed.
"She had to covered your stupid ass!" Technoblade yelled and his eyesight became red.
"Dream, you remember, that I have sworn to take your life, if you will break out. Better surrender yourself or I will do it for sure." Sapnap added and pointed his weapon at old friend.
"You can try Sapnap." Dream's tone was cold.
Silence fell upon them. Of course 2 vs 6 was hard to win, with such good swordmasters as Purpled ans Sam, but fugitives had no other option. Wolfes were annoyed, but they didn't give them attention. Technoblade made first move, charging at enemies, but he dodged Quackity and Sam, then went for Foolish this time. Strong shoulder blow almost caused him to collapse right in the moment, but he stumbled and lost balance, Techno kicked him, sending straight into ground. Meanwhile Dream used, that everyone was focused at his savior and charged at Sam, using shield to kick, similar as Technoblade. He didn't expect that front attack, so impact hit Eret, which was right behind him, then masked man aimed hit right in Quackity direction, axe stopped in netherite, didn't cause a lot of damage. Technoblade seeing, that Dream joined his actions pulled out sword and with smooth swing, attacked Sapnap. He was on guard, so blocked with shield, then counterattacked.
Battled was lasted few minutes, Dream and Technoblade were dancing around the enemies, in bloody rythme. Both leading by rage and desired revenge. Foolish throw trident, but Piglin hybrid managed to catch it and shoved right into Sapnaps knee, loud crack and he landed on ground.
"Dream now!" Technoblade yelled taking green man's attention.
He turned around and jumped away from Eret and Sam, causing them to surprise. Immediately after that The Blade threw some blasting potions. Colorful smoke covered the sight, and they started to cough.
"What the fuck is that?!" Quackity yelled tried to wipe his eyes.
"Surprise!" Dream yelled then knocked down Big Q with huge smile, Techno did the same with Sam and Foolish. Eret and Purpled were already on ground, struggling to breath.
On rest potions effects started to work, they had blurry vision, spinhead, were weak and slow. Fugitives got closer and looked at defeated.
"Old tricks never gets old." Dream summed up.
"Let's go." Technoblade simply said.
They left them, because potions effect were used to last few minutes. After long run, with constatly checking, if someone tracked them again, horses were where piglin hybrid left them. Carl and black one were peacefuly waiting, eating grass. Both had diamond armor and saddles.
"Now straight into dessert, we have to be there before Foolish I guess." Dream said looking at his savior.
'Hurry, we need to hurry!' 'Nothing is going to take her again!' 'This has to work!'
"Now Foolish is part of the Las Nevadas, but sometimes visits his Summer Home. I hope he won't be there in a while." Technoblade responded and mounted Carl.
Dream mounted another horse and they set off. Long jurney was waiting for them and they needed to hurry.
}*{
There was late night, when far away in their sight appeard some light and smell of the water hit their nostrils. Moon was high and starts decorated the sky. Soon big ancient buildings appeard, but it looked liked none was there in first impression.
"Let's hurry, we need to do it before Foolish come here." Technoblade said when they were closer.
"I can start when we reach buildings, it should be enough." Dream stated looking at pyramids.
They both hurried horses, Techno even make himself first. It seemed like Dream on purpse let him did it, to not reveal the truth about the revival. Technoblade wasn't even interested to be honest, for him only counts, that Y/N will be alive and with him.
After few minutes, Dream alinged his horse with him, they were few meters away from first building.
"It's done."
"Good, now we will have to see if this worked, then you need run away and wait, till I contact you."
Dream nodded and they were approaching in silence. Piglin hybrid knew way and how to navigate through temple. Soon, they stopped near the goal. Torches were off and around was quite cold, Techno dismouted Carl, frowned and entered inside. There were empty, opened and a little bit cracked tomb. Things around were messed, like someone was searching something through things, that members of the SMP left. Trident was gone and couple of things. Technoblade swallowed hard, then went out.
"She is gone..." He said, Dream looked at him.
"Let's look around, she can't be far away."
They went deeper into buildings and halls and after, split to search more area. Summer Home was very big, so Y/N could be anywhere or even outside.
'She need to be somewhere here.' 'Did that work for sure?' 'What happend?'
"Techno!" Dream's echo voice took his attention.
He rushed from it's direction immediately. Masked man was standing in the exit, which was leading to open area outside with big pool, surrounded by trees, grass, bushes and flowers. Bottom and paths were made by marble, in water they could spot some fishes and even a dolphin. Y/N was standing near the edge, she stood backwards, in white and light dress, barefoot. Her hair were free, but on back was trustworthy trident.
"My job is done here Technoblade..." Dream said slowly.
Piglin hybrid nodded. "Go, thank you."
Masked man fast left Summer Home, not even looking back, but on his face was gentle smile. The Blade relaxed shoulders and took deep breath. His stepes were slow, but confident, he stopped right behind her.
"Y/N?" His voice was gentle, but longing.
She turned around with quiet sigh, she studied his features quickly and hugged his waist tightly. Technoblade hugged her back, resting chin on top of her head, breathing in her scent.
"Please, never ever leave me alone again. Please." She said into his chest, squeezing eyes so hard.
"I'm here princess, I am not going anywhere." He whispered softly.
"There was so dark and cold..."
"Not anymore... you are back."
"How did it happen...? What...?" Y/N asked, stepping a little and looking at him.
Technoblade sighed and looked back. His shoulders dropped.
"Dream did it..."
"With revive book...? Wait... he had to be here..."
Sudden understanding hit her like a truck. Her lips parted when it happend.
"Did you release him?!"
"Listen... I was already owning him a favor, now it's just another business... I would anything to get you back understand?"
Y/N tried to say something, but Technoblade put finger on her lips, causing her to silent.
"Hush. It's all right. We should be heading to home, Foolish can be here in any moment..."
She nodded, so he grabbed her hand ans lead to Carl, which was peacefuly waiting, horse let Y/N pet him gently. They mounted him and left desert in hurry. None was coming through their way, so after some time sand turned into snow, spruce forest surrounded them and Y/N felt, that she is coming home after long time no being. Finally they reached cottage. She noticed, that almost nothing changed, maybe more dogs came.
They dismounted Carl, Technoblade helped and never let go off her hand. Y/N smiled slighty.
"Did I miss something important?" She asked when they reached stairs.
"Well... Wilbur is alive... and he is living there. Red Banquet, BadBoyHalo and his Eggpire completly lost their minds, they killed Foolish, but he is demigod... so in ends with bad cough. Quackity and Las Nevadas gathered power, he with Sam tried to fool me and locked me in prison, but I've outsmarted them." Techno answred with little sigh.
"Wow... that's a lot..."
"Yes, but how are you feeling? Are you all right?" He asked looking carefuly at her features.
"I... I am good, I feel a little bit tired, but now I am excited." She giggled softly.
Piglin hybrid, didn't have time to respond, because Phil stepped outside and immediately went to them.
"Phil!" Y/N screamed and not caring about anything, she hugged him tightly.
Winged man smiled softly and hugged her back, but gently like father.
"Good to see you again." He said slowly.
Y/N nodded and let him go, on his face was big smile and he looked like weight was took off his shoulders. After some calm conversation, he excused himself and they went inside Technoblade's home.
"Would you like to eat something or...?
"Well I dream about bath, then sure I can eat, if there is something." Y/N stated slowly.
"Then I will make something."
She went upstairs, to search something new to change, when entered their bedroom, she culd tell, that nothing changed, her items were on the same place. Snowflake almost immediately stood up and ran to her owner. Snow fox jumped right into Y/N's arms.
"Hello my cute, little ball of fur." She whisered and pet her gently.
After a while, Y/N went down with Snowflake in her arms. She took long bath and got new clothes, Technoblade was already waiting with ready dinner. He also took his armor and cape, his trustworthy weapons were hid. Almost like nothing happend, like this couple of weeks didn't exist at all. When she started to eat, pigling hybrid sat across the table and just looked at her with gaze mixed in curiosity and worring.
'We missed her so much.' 'She's so cute...' 'Don't let her go again.'
"What?" She asked stopping eating.
"What, what?" He asked in response.
Y/N put her chin on her palm and looked directly into his eyes. His features softened almost immediately.
"Tell me, what are you thinking."
"I just... I am just amazed, that this actually worked and you are here and Wilbur has told me... that when he was dead he had a limbo... you too?" Technoblade asked unsure.
Y/N sighed heavy and put away plate and fork. She looked at him, taking her time to say it.
"It was a high tower. I attemped to went down by spiral staircase but they have never ended."
Technoblade nodded to her, thinking about it in silence. She swallowed slowly, making pause before asking thing, that stucked in her head for whole trip back to tundra.
"What did you promise to Dream, to make him revive me?" Y/N whispered.
"I supported him, after breaking out. Well, it was like needed, to go into desert, so I would do it anyway... second thing is that we are going to have our revenge on Quackity and Sam." He said with dark and cold gaze.
"Why Dream need revenge on Quackity? Sam put him into prison, but fact is that Dream wanted it to be built." She frowned at Technoblade's words.
"He was tortured there my dear, they stopped while I was there, but I am sure, that this has continued when I was out."
"Why did they torture him?" She was so confused about it.
"Big Q need to know how the revive book is working and it was thing, that kept Dream needed and alive."
Y/N nodded and continued to eat. Then, they im silence clean everything and Y/N sat on the couch across the fire. Technoblade did the same.
"You know, that this is all wrong right? Taking revenge..."
"I always keep my word princess and honestly, I really want to stab this stupid Quack in the face few times with my axe..." Technoblade hummed.
"But it will create the loop of violence and hurt..."
"I only care about you, Phil, Syndicate and my freedom." He said and looked at her with serious gaze.
"Syndicate?" She asked with confusion.
"Oh yes... my fellow anarchy organisation. We are against government. Ranboo, Niki and Phil are members."
"Well they are my friends too, you think, that I can join?"
"I would prefer, to not have you in danger my dear..." Technoblade sighed.
"I know what happend... but if you literally have broken out the most dangerous man out of prison, swore to take revenge on those, who had hurt me, because of me... I want to do something for you too." Y/N said slowly.
"Just be there for me and understand, that world is cruel in the end. But I will think about getting you into Syndicate." The Blade cupped her cheeks and stroked them with thumbs.
"I can't change you, but if I have to be honest, I like you more, when you are calm, caring and staying in cottage." She said leaning her forehead against his.
"Well... I will think about it after my revenge with Dream, what do you think?"
"Don't be harsh on everyone, we all live in the same world." Y/N whispered, her lips brushed against his.
"I am almost willing to yell into the sky, when it's raining and Ranboo can't go outside, or he has to wear netherite armor..." Technoblade complained.
"He doesn't have his last name 'My Beloved' for nothing Techno. But I will be more glad, if Eret, Foolish and rest of my friends were good and safe."
"Do I have to?" He whined like stubborn child.
"Just do it for me okay? And I will be the happiest person in the world, I promise." Y/N smiled gently.
"I will try, but please don't invite them here..."
"What about Tommy, Ranboo and Tubbo?"
Piglin hybrid rolled his eyes and his shoulder dropped a little. "Fine, they are good, but as long as Tommy isn't too annoying."
"Great. We have deal." She said quietly, then closed the gap between their lips.
He kissed her back, it was longing, loving kiss. Technoblade put into it all his emotions, fears and promises, everything which he had faced after she was gone. Y/N wrapped her arms aroud his neck, quiet growl left his chest.
"Revenge can wait a bit..." Piglin hybrid said into her lips.
"I guess..."
'Who has whom wrapped around a finger?'
'Green man can wait for sure.' 'Doesn't matter if we kill them tomorrow or next week...' 'Kiss, kiss, kiss!'

Dream SMP Recap (December 3/2020)
Today was pretty interesting - every member of both the Dream Team AND Sleepy Bois Inc. streamed today! Doesn’t happen often.
Everyone is preparing for the exile tomorrow. There's internal conflicts growing within the Dream SMP side and the familial division within the Sleepy Bois has only increased.
---
 -  Tubbo, Ranboo and Fundy work on the hole in the ocean and that’s when the first rain happens.
- Wilbur and Tommy randomly join the VC and just say “Tubbo we’ve been thinking about you a lot” and then straight up leave
- Later, Tommy gets on in preparation for possible exile. He insists that he cares more for L’manburg than his discs, ultimately. Technoblade is online. He says he wants to move into New L’manburg out of sheer confidence that he won’t be exiled. Sapnap comes online as well and proceeds to bully Tommy with Techno. Punz arrives too.
- Sapnap suggests Tommy move into Mexican L’manburg.
- Tommy says he likes Ghostbur because he’s “like real Wilbur but less torturous”
- TECHNO STREAM POG. He wants to move his pets.
- Sapnap confronts Tommy and says that he was ordered to kill him since Tommy stepped outside of the walls.
- Punz raises the wall. Phil and Ranboo come online.
- Phil puts on armor in L’manburg and says he must go. He meets with Techno just outside the wall - it’s time for Phil to join forces with the pig.
- Techno kills Tommy. Mexico is declared Dream SMP canon.
- Wilbur comes online and starts talking to Sapnap. Tommy says that the best apology gift is DRUGSS. Ghostbur asks Tommy where Techno is and then leaves.
- Sapnap is in denial about Dream not caring about him. Tommy tells him bluntly, and Sapnap says that at least he has Tommy as a friend - a continuation of his character arc from the Final Pet War on the 15th.
- Ghostbur roasts Techno for not knowing how to make a fishing rod and tells Tommy and Techno that he’s in “the ravine.” They all meet up at the lake where Techno’s base was, putting the pets in boats.
- The Sleepy Bois have a family confrontation. Techno asks him if Tommy’s life has improved from the new government. Phil points out that Techno was very clear about his intentions the whole time. Ghostbur says he and Techno go way back. Tommy says he’s just there for Ghostbur.
- Tommy and Ghostbur split off and Tommy tells Ghostbur a story about “two guys,” with Tommy putting him and Wilbur as “these two good guys, but one of the good guys had turned into a bit of a bad guy,” and Techno as “a medium guy.” Ghostbur remembers more than Tommy realized.
- Tommy lies to Ghostbur and says that Techno made the crater.
- Connor drops by. Tommy says he wants to get the Camarvan back in drug-brewing business.
- Ghostbur and Sapnap continue speaking. Ghostbur remembers that Sapnap was on the other side and calls him a “traitor like Eret” for now being with Tommy.
- It rains again...
In Tubbo’s words, “Jesus has OP”
- Tommy captures a pet bat. “It’s like a moth but bigger!”
- They drug the president
- Meanwhile, Phil and Techno are hanging out together in Techno’s ice village, now strong allies.
- Tubbo isn’t swayed by Tommy’s apology gift. Tommy speaks with Ghostbur on the Power Tower. Ghostbur says he’ll follow Tommy no matter what happens.
- Quackity and George build a new mushroom house right outside Tommy’s new L’manburg house to piss him off
- Sapnap joins the call and immediately tells George that Dream said he didn’t care about them, and that those in Mexican L’manburg have to band together since Dream no longer has care for anyone. George is shocked and literally spits out his water.
- Sapnap leaves, Quackity starts reading How to Sex 2 and IT RAINS AGAIN.
- Quackity starts acting strange and screeching but he calms down once George gets him inside the church. Quackity has a revelation that all the world is made of “1′s and 0′s,” and says that he can never leave the church without the peace leaving him. He says that he killed everyone important in his life except for George, that he has no one left. George seems to be confused at who is talking to him.
“I am alive, George.”
...
- Quackity returns to normal and starts talking about the house in front of Tommy’s again. He and George continue their hijinks. George gets scammed by Fundy, he and Quackity start messing around with item frames and maps. They need leather and ask Techno about his cow farm. Techno responds that the spirits of the cows call for revenge. They start running.
- George starts gathering wheat. This is his grave mistake. Techno, invisible but showing through armor, chases him down and almost kills him but spares him at half a heart. George and Techno chat for a bit after Techno leaves the area.
- Then Quackity streams the first part of their plan to prank the entire SMP with pictures. Just a funny stream! Funny pranks! Haha funnies! hahahahahahaha
- PSYCHE u rly thought huh?? u rly thought??
- Dream comes online and announces that George is being dethroned.  He claims that he’s doing this to protect George, since George has been getting attacked more and more lately. But later on he lets it slip that George was, in his eyes, a “bad king” and was getting too involved to stay neutral, especially when it came to Mexican L’manburg. He makes Eret the king again. Worth mentioning is the fact that Eret still plans to adopt Fundy, and Dream and Fundy are getting married tomorrow...
- Everyone escorts George down the Path, George’s head hung low. Sapnap is angry at Dream, Dream accuses Sapnap of driving them apart. Sapnap says that he’ll stand with George.
- Sapnap, George and Quackity all reconvene at Mexican L’manburg. They decide to fight for George’s crown back, and also speak with Badboyhalo about possibly combining forces with the Badlands to do so.
- Dream shoots Quackity and orders an attack on George. He messages Quackity to not even dare trying to take back power.
- Later, Dream rejoins VC and he and Quackity get into a moral debate about the ethics of hostile government takeovers, who’s at fault for the conflict on the server, and why Dream is doing all of this. Dream points out that the last willing giveaway of the discs was from Tommy to Dream for the birth of L’manburg, and that Tommy only has the discs now because he stole them. The rain falls again as they speak.
- Dream leaves. Mexican L’manburg is the only place left for George to fight for. Sapnap has turned against Dream. The Badlands are getting involved, and Quackity has to speak to Tubbo about all of this.
- Meanwhile, Puffy is replacing Tommy’s stone bricks with polished granite.
- The funny haha’s return as everyone continues doing the SMP prank. Fun!
---
Upcoming Events:
- Karl will be touring Pokimane around the SMP next week!
- Tommy’s exile decision is tomorrow

„Listen, we will blow up L’Manberg this time tomorrow!” Dream yelled out. His voice echoing through the ruin that used to be the Community House. All while he was surrounded by a handful of people decked out in armor brandishing their weapons.
Techno stood close by him. A sick grin on his face while he held his infamous rocket launcher between his hands. No surprise there that he would immediately jump on the idea of blowing up this government, especially after they went out of their way trying to kill him while he was in retirement.
A few people let out shocked gasps or surprised exclamations as Dream announced this. Knowing that Dream was a hundred percent serious with this, as well as Techno. Those two were a dangerous combination. A deadly even.
So when Dream moved his head upwards to look at Y/N who seemed to stoically stare at the happenings and calmly asked “Won’t you join us, Y/N?” Everyone’s worry spiked even more.
Y/N scoffed and slammed the end of the trident they were holding onto the small bit of solid ground they were standing on “You already know my answer, Dream.”
While Techno seemed to be a bit confused for a few seconds he appeared to make the connection. Those two have talked about this beforehand.
The others didn’t seem to understand though.
“Y/N? You are joining them?” Tubbo sounded downright hurt.
In that moment Quackity chimed in as well “You are betraying us?”
The grip on Y/N’s trident strengthened “You bet I will! You guys never treated me like one of yours! All I was good for was to get you better gear or play body guard! Hell, at some point you guys basically imprisoned me only to let me out to train you on how to fight Techno! One of my dear friends! How does this surprise you?”
People were already panicked and scared but this was the disaster scenario. There were only three people on this server known for being amazing fighters and all three of them just banded together to destroy their home and possibly kill them all.
Before anyone could retort Dream clapped loudly in his hands to pull everyone’s attention back on himself “We gave you the warning, that’s all. See you all tomorrow.”
With that Dream used an Ederpearl to flee. Y/N followed him suit, having all of this planned out beforehand. Though this also meant they awkwardly left Techno behind but he should be fine. After all he was the Technoblade and as everybody knew Technoblade never dies.
Once the two were far enough away Dream turned to Y/N “Thanks. I appreciate what you are doing. Wouldn’t want to fight against you.”
Y/N laughed “Neither do I. They already looked so scared with your team up with Techno but after you pulled me in they really looked like sheets of paper. It was… interesting to see. Either way I should be the one thanking you. You are giving me a chance for revenge.”
They continued to move towards a snowy tundra. Dream taking the lead since Y/N has been stuck in L’Manberg in the last few months. They wore netherite armor but it was unenchanted. Given to them by the butcher army after they told them of their plan to kill Dream.
The original plan was that Y/N would join them later and make sure that they will be alright. Playing a bodyguard for them once again. Normally they would have used the given armor and weapons as soon as they got it to flee but Dream has met them before this even happened. Hatching out a plan together so in the end this gear was an added bonus that gave extra protection while they fled with Dream.
“Why are we here?”
“Well we gotta prepare.” Dream answered as if that would answer Y/N’s question sufficiently.
While Y/N didn’t exactly truly trust Dream, mostly due to the fact they trusted no one, they didn’t feel the need to ask him to elaborate and instead continued to follow him dutiful. He had something planned and they had to follow him no matter what.
Where else could they go? Their only home was in L’Manberg even if it was more of a prison.
Dream was an enigma to them. Y/N had fought with the man a few times and it was always incredibly tiring every time which was something new for them.
Both Dream and Techno were physical strong, though Y/N suspected that Techno was a bit stronger simply because of his Piglin side.
Techno was a master at preparing and using everything to his disposal and if he didn’t have it he wasn’t scared to spend a ludicrous amount of time to gather these items. He was like a true juggernaut. People called him the Blood God for a reason after all.
Dream was more versatile. Of course he did plan things beforehand but he was better at acting during the situation. If the situation changed you can bet that he was already three moves ahead and noticed things around him he can use for his advantage. Now combine this with the knowledge he had about the world and he seemed almost unstoppable.
Just like Dream and Techno they too were physical strong which came naturally over the years but they relied more on their speed. Being a master at dodging blows and abusing peoples weak spots before they even realize they had any.
Now that they teamed up Y/N could understand how the people begun to fret. Alone the three were a force to be reckoned with but together it wasn’t hard to imagine that they could level a whole city or a nation in this specific case.
“Here, we arrived.” Dream almost whispered. His porcelain mask hiding his satisfied smile as he spotted Techno talking with Philza inside what looked like a nether wart farm. Probably telling him about what just happened and how Tommy betrayed him.
Philza waved towards the two new arrivals “Hello Dream and Y/N.”
Surprised Techno turned around.
“What? We have to plan this somehow even a little bit. This is a bit bigger than just winging it.” Dream explained.
Techno stepped out of the farm and dug his finger into Dream’s shoulder “I have a bone to pick with you two.” He made sure to throw his frown towards Y/N as well as he said that “You just left me! You left me alone surrounded by like thirty people!”
Dream slowly pushed Techno’s hand away from him “And yet here you stand alive and well.”
“No thanks to you!”
“Boy, am I glad to finally meet my old friend Technoblade after being imprisoned inside my own home.” Y/N interjected, already having heard enough of their bickering.
Philza sharply sucked in some air “Yeah, I know what that feels like.”
Techno sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose “Don’t get me even started on you. They started a government right in front of us, you helped me build the Wither’s that destroyed them and yet you still stayed.”
“Oh, Techno you know very well what happened! They managed to catch me when I made sure to keep them off your back as you fled! Besides it gave me time to find out more about their structure and what was happening! I couldn’t know we wouldn’t need it in the end since Dream himself appeared to join our cause in this instance!”
Dream was calm and collected before but now he seemed almost apalled that Y/N would throw such an accusation against him “What?! Now it’s my fault?!”
Phil made his way towards the arguing warriors and made sure to stand in between them, they wouldn’t fight, not yet at least, the fight wasn’t heated enough for that but he needed to get their attention off each other “Okay, I think that is enough. You only have so much time to plan Doomsday.”
“You are right Phil, of course. Well then I have to show both Dream and Y/N something.” Techno seemed to have calmed down and made his way towards his home. Dream followed him and Y/N was about to follow him as well but Philza stopped them by laying his hand on their shoulder.
“Are you okay? You basically have been locked up by the L’Manbergians longer than me”
Y/N smiled softly “Besides missing my old gear? I am alright. Really. But thanks for asking.”
This seemed to be answer enough since he let his hand fall back to his side and instead concentrated on Techno who came running out of his house again with a button in his hand. Dream closely following and confused. Y/N assumed he was confused by his body language but it was hard to tell with his mask.
“Please follow me.”
So the group did as he ran around the corner towards a mountain range. All the while complaining to Chat, the voices in his head, that they had wants for completely unrelated things.
He placed the button down and pressed it. With the loud sounds of pistons moving a flat stone wall begun retracting giving away to a room with wither skulls on the back of the room. Soul Sand structures decorating the room as well as  a few chests and what looked like the start of a netherite armor set.
“What!?” Dream exclaimed in his typical fashion running into the hidden place to get a better look at the Wither skulls.
While Y/N was certainly impressed by this something felt off about this. Technically those were a ton of Wither skulls since they are incredibly hard to get by but it didn’t feel enough for Techno but Y/N chose to hold their thoughts to themself.
“As you can see we have enough for a few Withers and combined with, you mentioned raining down TnT?”
“Yeah, Yeah I did. A machine that will literally rain down TnT on the nation.”
“Yeah, combined with that and our fighting power we shouldn’t have a problem destroying L’Manberg.”
Y/N stretched “Okay, we got the gist of the plan I guess but I want a proper one. How will this go down exactly?”
The next day Y/N woke up early. More out of habit than need. They put on their freshly enchanted netherite armor and grabbed their new weapons as well. A netherite sword, crossbow and trident. Techno was already up, probably way before them. He was meticulous when it comes to preparing for fights after all.
As Y/N climbed down the ladder to get to the main level of Techno’s house they found him looking through a chest.
“Morning Techno and thanks for the makeshift bed and letting me sleep over.”
“Seeing as you are currently homeless I didn’t really have a choice and besides it makes it easier to meet up. Even though mister green Teletubby thought otherwise.” He grumbled “By the way there are some baked potatoes inside the furnace. Feel free to grab some.”
Y/N nodded and moved towards the furnace grabbing their breakfast. Potatoes, how typical.
The next few hours was spent by Techno, Philza and Y/N brewing potions as well as warming up. They got into their armor and made sure all of their equipment was working.
Now imagine their surprise while all of them were deep in their preparations and Dream appeared a good hour or so too early.
“Dream? Already here?” Y/N asked him.
He laughed “What? Already sick of me? I’m joking but there is a small change in plans. Let’s get going. Now.”
In the last part the tone in his voice changed from happy to serious which gave Y/N a bit of whiplash with how fast he could apparently change his emotions.
Technoblade pivoted his head to the side “Why already? Did something happen?”
Thankfully Dream shook his head “No, but let’s catch them off guard. If we go now they will surely be surprised.”
“Huh. He has a point.” Philza noted.
So the small group, they begun calling themselves Team Doomsday, started making their way towards L’Manberg but not without first getting Techno’s Hound Army. It was a bit stressful to get through the Nether with them but in the end they managed to reach the Community Nether Portal which led them close to the nation.
“I’m getting ready for the TnT, you all three get into the city and begin doing your thing. Techno as soon as you give me the signal I will spawn Withers and start the machine.” Dream ranted off resulting in Y/N rolling their eyes.
“Dream we were there when we planned this all.”
“Right.” And with that he vanished.
Technoblade turned to Philza “And you stay out of danger. Just spawn some Withers and by Ender stay out of danger. Call for us if anyone gets too close to you.”
This was Philza’s time to roll his eyes “Mate, I know. I’ll be fine!”
He most likely would. Philza was some apparently immortal being after all that still somehow only had one life. It was confusing but Y/N didn’t want to ask since Philza himself seemed to be very secretive about his nature.
With that Philza made sure to stay far away from Techno and Y/N. Still watching them but from a safe distance, holding onto the bag with the extra Wither skulls from Techno.
Together Y/N and Techno ran into the city with the wolves. As soon as Techno spotted Tubbo he immediately ordered his hounds to attack but didn’t attack himself immediately. He needed Tubbo to call the others so this thing could really start. After all, all of them had to get what’s due for them.
And indeed it didn’t take long for Quackity and the others to appear.
“Shit, it’s both Y/N and Techno!”
“Where is Dream!”
“No, idea!”
“We are so fucked!”
The people were scrambling, trying to protect their home but every time they got too close to Techno or Y/N the hounds would throw themselves at them. It was almost ironic how when Sapnap appeared the fight really begun.
“Techno I’ll deal with the people! I think it’s time for our secret weapon!” Y/N yelled over the chaos as they kicked Quackity away.
Between the L’Manbergian party Sapnap and Punz were definitely the biggest problem but as it looked like Punz barely participated. Sapnap was a definite surprise so Y/N wanted to deal with him if they get the chance. Test their mettle against him and maybe find out what moved him to work against Dream so readily.
“Got you!” Techno answered, showing that he heard them.
He got out his rocket launcher and shot a few rounds into the air, giving Dream and Phil both the sign. When Techno himself also got out some soul sand the others understood what was happening and tried their best to reach the Pig Hybrid.
Unfortunately for them the hound army and Y/N stopped them dead in their track.
Y/N had no problem running from person to person to either deflect their attack or kick them away from Techno as he built his little contraption. Two Withers already begun flying towards the middle of the nation. This broke up the group and a few decided to dedicate their fighting prowess to ensure that the Withers wouldn’t cause too much damage.
To that suddenly red TnT blocks suddenly begun raining down from the sky. A manic laughing Dream standing on top of an obsidian structure.
While the people scrambled to not die to the Withers, the dogs or the explosions, Team Doomsday, minus Phil, saw their chance to properly get into the fights.
Y/N didn’t spend any time waiting and immediately jumped in front of Sapnap’s way brandishing their sword. A smirk on their face.
Sapnap looked determined but worry still managed to crack through his expression. He locked his eyes with theirs and moved in heaving his sword up in order to strike them.
But Y/N stayed calm. They took a step forward and practically flowed around him, dodging his attack as they slammed down the sword at his side. It made contact with his armor but as it slid down the metal it managed to hit an exposed part of his arm.
Hissing Sapnap tried hitting them with a sweeping move towards their direction. Y/N used their sword to redirect his weapons movement away from them.
“Your reaction time is good! Too bad I’m better.” Y/N mused as they went back in to attack him.
They attacked him again, giving him a false sense as he tried to block their incoming attack only for them to move around again and kick him in the back of his knee. His leg buckled and crashed down into the dirt. Without any mercy Y/N kicked him again in his leg using the extra strength they had due to the strength potions.
“Fuck!” Sapnap cried out and put his hand inside a brown bag on his side, getting out an Enderpearl and throwing it away. He soon followed and disappeared as well.
“Oh no! You get back here! I haven’t even had the chance to ask you what the hell you think you are doing!”
But Sapnap didn’t hear them. He was too busy dodging attacks from a Wither.
“Y/N!” It was Phil calling out to them. As Y/N looked to where his voice came from they noticed both Ponk and Quackity coming closer to him. They knew he probably could deal with them but still. He was on his last life after all. Extra caution was warranted.
Y/N angled their own Enderpearl towards the blonde brit. Originally planned to be used to follow Sapnap but Phil was more important right now.
The wind got knocked out of their lungs as they landed in front of Phil. The sound of metal hitting each other rung out. A sword hitting Y/N’s armored back.
For a second Phil looked surprised only to jump back to his serious expression as he managed to see Y/N’s smile. He immediately got out a splash potion and threw it at himself and Y/N. They immediately noticed their strength returning. A healing potion. He got another one which seemed to be a strength potion, prolonging the effect that was already on them.
Thankful for the small pit stop Y/N turned around while he was busy throwing the strength potions, looking Quackity right in his face.
Quackity looked pretty confident before but now he was white as snow. Ponk put his second hand on the hilt of the sword. His sword was the one that clattered down on Y/N only to get parried by their armor.
“You betrayed us! Y/N! Do you really wanna do this?” Quackity tried to appeal to them.
Y/N sneered “How does this surprise you still? How? How does this not get in your head? You imprisoned me and made me work against my will against one of my only friends? How does this not enter your thick skull?”
They moved their arm up and brought it down on Quackity. It didn’t surprise them that he managed to parry it with his own but Y/N doubled down pressing down on the blade with their own. Effectively locking him into this position.
Obviously Ponk saw his chance and tried attacking Y/N who was preoccupied with the Vice President but Philza was still there. He just had to extend his trident and managed to interlock Ponk’s blade between the forks of his weapons.
“Phil!” Weirdly enough he seemed to be surprised by that.
“You were about to attack me! Don’t sound so shocked!”
Y/N pushed even harder on Quackity, forcing him to take a step back, getting dangerously close to the edge of the crater that the TNT is still in the progress of making.
“You are just as bad as Techno. Just as bad as Dream.” He spat. Still trying to work against Y/N’s strength.
“From what I saw in my time in this L’Manberg I very much prefer that. At least they treat me like a human person and not just as a weapon to be used!”
With that Y/N musted up the rest of their strength and pushed even harder down. Forcing out a yell as they pushed him one last time. Quackity not having enough strength to hold out anymore had to take another step only to find that there was no ground anymore. He slipped and fell down into the crater.
Not wasting any time Y/N spun towards Ponk who was clashing his sword against Philza’s shield. He was a good enough fighter but it still looked pathetic. He was too desperate.
Y/N used the adrenaline of arguing with Quackity to run and throw their whole body into Ponk. Making him stumble and fall down onto the ground.
Pointing their sword at his throat “I’m sorry Ponk. I respect you for standing up to your ideals but here is the end of the road today for you. Maybe next time you will have a better chance.”
His eyes widened and a weak protest left his mouth but Y/N ignored it. Pushing their sword down, killing him. His body dissolving into golden dust. He was returning to his bed and respawning.
Phil looked at his worn out shield “You okay, Y/N?”
They laughed dryly “I should ask you that. I am fine. I am holding my own out here, how are you?”
“I’m luckily good as well. Thanks for helping me, Y/N.”
It was sad to think about how they never got a proper thanks from the L’Manberg people. It was expected that they helped them.
Y/N nodded “Always.”
They wanted to jump back into the fight but suddenly Dream stood next to them. Looking over the crater.
The opposing party was scattered. Now more dealing with injuries than the fights. Only one Wither left flying around. The crater reached bedrock and yet the explosions still rang.
“I think it’s time we go. This nation is done for.” He spoke.
Techno joined the party. He looked like he was doing alright. His armor obviously scratched up but he was doing alright.
“I say we seemed to be successful.” He noted.
Dream put his hand on Y/N’s shoulder “I saw you fight. Did you know that a few people did a wide berth around you? Avoiding you at all cost?”
Y/N raised one of their eyebrows as they stared at Dream’s masked face. His head directed straight ahead as he observed Tommy who helped Tubbo with one of his injuries he acquired when he protected him from one of Techno’s rockets.
A few seconds passed in silence but then he turned his head towards Y/N “They are scared of you. Proof of your strength. Do with that knowledge what you will but I thought I should tell you since it was interesting to watch from above.”
“Let’s get going. If we wait long enough for them to recuperate then we might still have a problem since we are getting low on potions as well.” Techno spoke in a calm voice.
Truly. For Tommy, Tubbo, for all of the people who tried to protect L’Manberg. The team up of Dream, Techno, Philza and Y/N was their biggest nightmare that just came to fruition.
They knew they didn’t have a chance and yet they had to try. Had to try to protect their home like they always did but it was a vain effort. Who would have enough power to fight against warrior gods?

Dream tried to stop Wil from creating L'Manburg, Phil tried to stop him from blowing it up, BOTH value people over items and builds, Phil has said that they're replaceable but people aren't, Dream traded spirit for his best friends fishes (we kno he's not someone to talk abt feelings:[) BOTH were kind and selfless but used by almost if not everyone, BOTH were ready to be THE VILLAINS if it meant everyone else could live better after. ONE of them always had someone there, ONE didn't. Intentional?
aaaa sorry for the really inconsistent posts ,, im gonna try to post a little more in the next few days. i have a few things written up, so look out for them? maybe? for now, have this *gestures vaguely* thing ,, it’s kinda a mess but *shrug*
phil is such a fun character, anon, especially for all the reasons that you mentioned in the ask!! he’s a really fun character with a lot of complexities that go (sadly) overlooked by a large portion of the fandom, but he’s super cool even tho i havent analyzed him too much. hope you enjoy (and i hope my interpretation of c!phil isnt too ooc lmao)
tw: mentioned blood, injury, implied torture/abuse, starvation, trauma, mentioned death, prison arc/pandora’s vault
When Techno first brings Dream back from the prison, Phil doesn’t quite know what to think.
“I don’t trust him either,” Techno assures him, but there’s a flickering anger in the backs of his eyes, one that had emerged ever since he came back from the prison with the other man in his arms, and Phil knows his friend well enough to know that the words are empty in the face of the piglin hybrid’s particular brand of to-the-death loyalty. He shakes his head in reply, refusing to voice his thoughts for Techno’s sake, at least, but the look that the other slants at him suggests that he’s caught onto them all the same.
At first, the work is thankfully mindless; even if Phil has reservations on the man that Techno has more or less dumped into his house, he would hardly wish the clear suffering he’s been through on anyone. The first few days pass in a flurry of brewing potions, wrapping and rewrapping dressings, stitching up cuts and setting broken bones straight. The damage is extensive; Phil has to take more than a few breaks to just leave the house and breathe - he’s far from a stranger to blood and carnage, had received the title of ‘Angel of Death’ for a reason, but even he had never been particularly familiar with this form of cruelty. Torture was a level of violence that extended beyond what even he was willing to bestow - his hands may have caused many deaths, and the weight of each one would continue to haunt him for the rest of his life, but even those had the mercy of being a quick end. The wounds and scars that ripple over Dream’s skin, thin and stretched tightly over his bones with little muscle and fat left to cushion them, speak of horrors that were anything but merciful.
“I didn’t know they were capable of all of this,” Techno says, once, as they huddle of Dream, wringing towels in cold water to wipe his feverish skin. Techno’s hand reaches for the ribboning gold-filled scars that remain from the execution - carefully, Phil raises his hand to let his fingertips brush over them as well. “I mean, I knew he was dangerous and all, but-”
“I know, mate,” Phil looks back at Dream’s face, tight even in unconsciousness, at the darkened, hand-shaped bruises that remain around his throat, at the scar that runs over his left eye, clearly meant to mirror the same one that makes its way down the duck hybrid’s own face. “You said that Quackity and Sam were working together?”
“Yeah,” Techno’s expression darkens, eyes focused somewhere on the wall, seemingly very far away. He said that nothing happened to him in the prison, and he seemed relatively unharmed when Phil activated the stasis chamber, but ever since he came back, sometimes he’ll have moments, and Phil can’t help but - wonder. “Quackity does the dirty work, Sam gives him the way in and out, probably also the tools to do it. It’s-” he huffs a short, self-recriminating laugh. “It’s bad, Phil.”
“Mate-”
Techno shoots him a look, and Phil cringes, knowing already that he’d used the wrong tone. Even with the execution, Techno had been adamant to hide all traces of his own terror and fear away from him, masking it all with fury for Phil’s own sake. He knows, just from the way his old friend looks at the ribboning scars that remain sometimes, that he is far from as over the whole ordeal as he acts, but Techno never wants to talk and Phil never knows the right time to ask and they smooth it all behind plans and explosions and hope that the TNT can blow apart the trauma, too. He’s got a sneaking suspicion that the same thing is going to happen, here.
“As soon as we can,” Techno starts again, pointedly shifting his eyes away from Phil’s face, “we’re calling a Syndicate meeting to figure out what we’re going to do about the prison. Like- come on, man, you couldn’t make a more transparent abuse of institutional power if you tried, really-” he looks over, uncharacteristic uncertainty warring over his features. “If you think that’s good, I mean-“
“Of course, mate.” Phil’s voice softens. “Whenever you’re ready.”
‘Whenever he’s ready,’ as it turns out, is easier said than done, becoming even more evident when their charge wakes up from his days long spell of unconsciousness. The worst of his injuries have, under their careful care and the benefit of many potions, healed enough to no longer directly threaten his life, but the vast majority have quite some time to go before being healed completely. Being as the goal was torture and not death, most of his injuries weren’t made to be life-threatening, but rather to cause as much pain as possible - from the grimace that twists Dream’s face when he struggles to force himself awake, they’re doing their jobs.
“Hey, mate, slow down,” Phil murmurs, pressing the man down by his shoulder when Dream weakly tries to push himself up and off the bed, and his struggling only lasts for a few more minutes before he gives up and slumps against his pillow, eyes cracking open and seeming surprisingly lucid.
“Where-“ his voice is wrecked, and Phil reaches for the glass of water at the bedside as Dream coughs. “Where am I?”
“You’re at Techno’s house,” Dream’s eyes widen and then slip closed as he processes the information, a wrinkle forming between his eyebrows as they knit together. “We broke you out, after Techno escaped with a stasis chamber with your book. Do you remember?”
Dream gnaws on his bottom lip. “Um- yeah. I think.” His head turns as his eyes crack open again- “Techno-“
“He’s out, right now. He’ll be back in a bit.”
“Oh.” Dream falls back into the bed, strength seemingly sapped from the short conversation. His breathing stutters, then steadies. “Okay.”
Recovery is slow. Phil doesn’t actually find himself seeing the man very often; now that he doesn’t need around-the-clock care anymore, he’s moved back into his own house, letting Techno do most of the work when it comes to rehabilitating the escaped convict crashing at his house. As he begins to spend more of his time awake and aware, he brings a whole slew of new problems; Phil catches him screaming one day, blurting harsh, angry words as Techno reads, unbothered from the other side of the room, and he stops in his tracks standing awkwardly in the doorway.
“Um-“ he winces when Dream curses, smashes something against the floor, and then curls into himself at the sound. Techno doesn’t even flinch. “Am I interrupting something?”
Dream stomps away, face flushed, arms wrapped around himself. Techno raises an eyebrow.
“You lookin’ for something, Phil?” he asks, and the unpleasant knot in Phil’s chest refuses to unwind.
The episodes, unfortunately, don’t seem to get much better. Though he’s rarely outright violent, Dream looks constantly murderous, usually muttering underneath his breath about something or another while he stalks the grounds of Techno’s house. It’s not too long before Techno sends him out to work around the house instead of just moping within the cottage, which also means that Phil sees him a lot more - tending to a small farm behind the house, feeding the dogs, hacking away at mobs, and usually complaining the entire time. It’s unnerving, even as injured and unarmored as the man is, to see him walking around like this; despite his rather pathetic appearance, swamped in sweaters that dwarf him thoroughly and thin enough to look like the slightest breeze will knock him over, his eyes are flinty and intelligent and bubble with promises of revenge.
“FUCK!” Phil turns to see him slamming a shovel into the snow, stomping away into the woods, and his hands tighten around his cup of tea. Next to him, Techno shrugs.
“Nerd’s got a few issues,” he drawls, and Phil laughs shortly.
“That seems like an understatement.”
“He’ll ease up in time,” Techno sounds surprisingly confident, completely content despite the muffled curses that come from the woods next to them. He’s probably used to it, with Chat and all, but Phil can’t quite seem to find the same calm.
“I just don’t know, mate,” Phil shakes his head. “You sure having him around is the best idea? He doesn’t seem...stable.”
Techno looks up at him over the rim of his cup of coffee. His head tilts, considering, but there’s a small smile on his face that tells Phil that Techno, inexplicably, doesn’t share the same sentiments. There was always a part of him that was, for the lack of a better word, softer than the rest of the server for his self-proclaimed rival, a sort of understanding that Phil could hardly hope (nor would really want to) understand.
“Don’t worry, Phil, if he tries anything I can always just tie him up in the attic or something,” Phil huffs a small laugh, amused, and nods to concede the point. “And- well, call it intuition. You could really try talkin’ to him, you know. He reminds me of you, sometimes.”
The words stick in his head despite his best efforts, rattling in his skull when he tries to sleep, lingering when he catches glimpses of the green-clothed man stalking around their properties. He can’t imagine what would’ve prompted his old friend to make the comparison, can’t think of a single thing (besides their affinity for the color green) that would mark him as similar to the - from what he’s heard - deranged menace with a particular penchant for destruction (not that his rants and fits of anger are doing anything to correct that impression). Even so, Techno had sounded so sure when he’d made the comparison, the words offhand like he’d thought them a million times before, like it was a simple observation that held no more weight than commenting on the color of the sky. Phil watches as Dream lugs a pile of logs behind him, huffing at one of Techno’s dogs that comes to chase and nip at his feet and grumbling loudly before faceplanting into the snow. He just...can’t see it.
Days later, Wilbur comes to visit, a grin on his lips as he dramatically recounts his newest exploit: a nation by Las Nevadas, a supposed safe haven away from the glitter and glory of Quackity’s city; it sounds brilliant, it sounds lovely, and more than anything it sounds stupid, and Phil tells him as such immediately.
“You’re being reckless,” he rants at his son, wings flaring outwards and only barely noticing Dream watching from the corner of his eye, “What are you doing- picking fights with Quackity? Starting another nation- didn’t you see what happened to the first two you made? You’re going to get yourself killed, Wil!”
“Well, I’ve already seen what’s on the other side of death, and it’s really not that bad-“
“You’re my son!” The words are angrier than Phil would’ve liked, and he knows that he looks ridiculous and overbearing, criticizing the actions of his fully grown son, but all he can see is Wilbur’s face, slack with pain and grief, stained with ash and soot as his eyes flutter to half-mast in the midst of the rubble of a country he loved and destroyed and destroyed him in turn. “I can’t lose you again, Wil!”
Wilbur doesn’t quite storm out, but it’s a near thing, leaving with a clipped goodbye and leaving Phil seething on his doorstep. He spends the rest of the night pacing around the house in a sort of mad frenzy, wings stretching and folding over and over. Not for the first time, he longs for the sky, to feel the air through his wings and let the world fall into pinpricks below him; it’s this that leads him to the roof of his house, staring stubbornly at the clouds as the sun sinks down to the horizon.
“Hey.”
Phil startles; there, down below him, is Dream. He rocks back on his heels, seeming awkward, before clambering up the wall (Phil rolls his eyes at the ease with which he scales it, the feeling in his chest almost fond) and settling himself on the shingles at Phil’s side.
“Hey, mate,” Phil shakes his head. The fondness leaves, and the irritation that had risen at Wilbur’s words, earlier, comes back full-force. “Sorry- Wil came to visit, we talked. I just needed some time to think.”
Dream hums in acknowledgement, and they fall into a comfortable silence, watching as the sun dipping down past the mountains in the distance.
“You know,” Dream starts, sudden, “I told him the same thing.” He looks up at Phil, eyes faraway with old memories. “Wilbur, I mean. When he made L’manburg- I told him he was being reckless.” He shrugs. “I guess he never listened.”
Phil pauses, Techno’s words ringing in his ears. He reminds me of you, sometimes.
Dream looks surprisingly normal up close - face no longer reddened with fever or pale from blood loss, even the scars fail to really take from the boyishness of his face. He bites his lips, eyes falling away at Phil’s scrutiny, golden blond hair flopping over his forehead, newly trimmed to be something a little closer to his old length, at least in the front, the back pulled into a small ponytail. He’s young, and shockingly awkward, teeth worrying his lip, hands fiddling with each other, shifting his weight from one foot to the other several times a minute. He looks like a kid.
“He never does,” Phil lets himself smile, watches as Dream smiles back, almost like they’re sharing a joke. He wonders how well he really knows the man behind the mask. “Want to come in for some tea?”
Dream smiles wider, and something old and worn in Phils chest, knocked loose ever since he felt his son fall limp in his arms with his own sword shoved between his ribs, falls back into place.
“That would be great,” Dream replies, the words almost hopeful, and they go inside.

yes i agree!! the conversation with dream on the obsidian is so creepy but it gets overshadowed by all the techno vs tommy discourse!
very /lh but i’ll never forgive them for centering doomsday around c!tommy and c!technoblade’s conflict
1) it doesn’t make sense, as @/shrugofgod pointed out after transcribing the community house scene, c!technoblade felt betrayed by c!tommy but he also said that anarchy was about freedom to choose - and c!tommy had chosen, and c!technoblade respects him for it.
and now that lyssie has been so nice as to transcribe here’s that quote: “i had my plan to destroy the government, i explained my reasons, i’ve been like i’m destroying it because of a, b, c, they executed me, they betrayed me, you betrayed me— you know what, tommy? you’ve made a decision today that can’t be undone. and you know what? i respect you, tommy. you know, you’re free to make your own choices, wrong as they are. that’s what anarchy is about. It’s about freedom. to do what you want.”
and then he leaves. there’s nothing in this closing statement that should lead to more conflict between the two based on this “betrayal” - because c!tommy has already apologised earlier, several times - and this is the last of them “…technoblade, i know what i’ve done, and i hate me for it… i’m sorry.”
the conflict is over there! yes, they’re not best friends and c!technoblade feels betrayed, as he should - c!tommy switched sides and left c!technoblade alone in front of 30 people. but c!tommy had always said he’d never destroy l’manberg or hurt c!tubbo - and he sticks to this. and c!technoblade has acknowledged that he is allowed to make that decision, as that is what anarchy is about.
and c!technoblade’s definition of anarchy is the reason he’s doing this - making it about the conflict between c!tommy and c!technoblade undermines c!technoblade’s speeches about ideology and corruption because by focusing on c!tommy - it becomes not about anarchy, but revenge and punishment. narratively speaking, it only works against c!technoblade to focus on c!tommy, and not c!quackity and c!tubbo - the people in charge of his execution and c!phil’s house arrest.
there's also the matter of the quote "i'm a person!" where it's meant to show that c!tommy doesn't think of c!technoblade as a person, despite there never ever being a hint towards that in the previous streams. c!tommy was the one in the bedrock bros team up who actually asserted their friendship, while c!technoblade was the one who only acknowledged c!tommy's worth after he'd given into violence and tortured c!connor for information. c!technoblade describes seeing him as a tool but now that c!tommy is useful - he sees him as something close to a friend. even after c!tommy turns to c!tubbo, as i said above, c!tommy does his best to show his friendly and well meaning intentions to c!technoblade; and again, c!technoblade acknowledges c!tommy's right to do what he did.
making c!tommy c!technoblade's bad guy on doomsday does not make sense when the people who executed c!technoblade sans trial are right there
2.) it’d have continued from c!quackity and c!technoblade’s battle after the execution where c!technoblade took one of c!quackity's canon lives after he'd failed to take one of c!technoblade's. and - with absolutely no disrespect - cc!quackity is one of the best people on the server to improv speeches. just look at his conversation with c!dream after the bombing of mexican l’manberg: he’s so good. a lot of the reason why c!tommy’s lines during doomsday gets ignored is because they’re not the kind of iconic quotes that c!technoblade uses in his speeches; had the focus been on c!quackity instead, then there’d actually be an interesting conversation about power, about anarchy.
c!technoblade would have been challenged, instead of just shouting quote worthy one liners over the crater that in the context doesn't make sense with who he's shouting it at (c!tommy)
as i said, it also derails the entire premise of doomsday on c!technoblade’s behalf because if it’s not focused at the group that came to his house, threatened him, held him to justice for his actions but without a trial, and then executed him - but is instead focused on the person he took in, who he knew was running from c!dream, and had multiple panic attacks in front of him, and then chose his home, a decision c!technoblade respected? it’s suddenly not anywhere near about anarchy anymore - and that may be intentional, but i doubt it as no one has ever acknowledged that.
3.) the fact that c!tommy facing off with his abuser, face to face, begging him to explain why he couldn’t just have punished c!tommy - is not the primary conflict for c!tommy’s character that day, is so icky to me.
yes, a lot of the pain that day came from seeing his home being destroyed, seeing “what’s left of wilbur, the Real wilbur” getting destroyed; but the pain for c!tommy is especially rooted in the fact that home, and returning home, was something he held onto throughout exile. it was somewhere he was forbidden from ever returning to; and that was because of c!dream.
doomsday being remembered for c!technoblade and c!tommy yelling at each other across the crater that once was l’manberg over a conflict that had already been...resolved; and not the fact that c!dream admitted to seeing c!tommy as his toy, that he destroyed l’manberg because he found it fun, and that c!tommy’s first statement to c!dream had been “you did this, not just to me, but to everyone. why couldn’t you just have done it to me?” - it doesn’t sit right with me.
it was also c!tommy giving c!dream the disc that even set off doomsday because c!dream had been waiting for that before he went after l’manberg. having the disc meant that there were only two things left that c!tommy was genuinely attached to: l'manberg and c!tubbo. he was the one to rope c!technoblade in with him, he was the one to declare the attack and the time, and he was the one to make the tnt cannons. and he did all that because c!tommy showed him that l’manberg was more important than the discs at that moment - and c!dream goes after what c!tommy values the most. to keep their game going, to make sure c!tommy is focused on their game as he says on the obsidian grid.
"our story isn't over, l'manberg's story is over, but our story isn't. i don't think it'll ever be over."
so yes, this was an entire rant you didn’t ask for - and i’m sorry for that hahah - but it’s been building. i think that’s where my frustration with doomsday comes from; the central conflict was centered on the wrong people, and because of that it had the message of doomsday fall flat. and c!tommy facing his abuser was pretty much forgotten in the sea of discourse that arose after the event

On Familiar Ground
The lava descends slowly, and the rush of air through it ruffles the edges of Dream's cloak. It's hot, and strangely humid - a side effect of the Elder Guardian presence in this place, weighing down the pickaxe firmly strapped by his side. He steps onto the small platform and closes his eyes. Whirring redstone drags him across the pool of lava, the glow filtering through his eyelids. The whole place feels like it's humming, from the lava to the mechanisms to the monsters left in the walls.
He knows every corner of the cell on the far side of the barrier. The chipped edges of the "pool". The peg on the wall where a thousand clocks hung in turn. The lectern, spattered with ink and sweat. The bell - a more recent addition, but perhaps the most precious. Even if it did cost them a wish that could've gotten them out of there, it was still a comfort to have. A reminder that someone else knew what was happening to him.
Dream stares quietly at a spatter on the wall, a rust red. No matter how hard he scrubbed, Sam never managed to get the blood out of all the nooks and crannies of the cell. It soaked into the edges of the chest, staining the wood. It colored the water, rarely replaced. Quackity didn't much care about the evidence he was leaving behind. He was sloppy, almost on purpose. Like he wanted to leave reminders for Dream during the time he wasn't there. Dream feels a mostly-healed scab on his thigh throb, and he looks away from the stain.
He walks over the barrier, and back, and back again. It's the freedom to traverse it that makes everything feel new again, no matter how long he was in here. Just a few extra meters of space changes everything. And access to the outside, of course. Armor. Weapons. Food. Fresh air. Okay, so there's a lot of things that are better now that he's not locked in the cell.
And yet... There's logic holding his choice together, of course. No one would look for an escaped prisoner in the prison he supposedly escaped from. It's defensible, intended to be impervious against attacks from both within and without. (One succeeded, but it took a lot of work, a lot of luck, and the goal was to get out, not to destroy it. The building as a whole still stands.) It's a secretive place, with plenty of places to hide plans and weapon caches and other people's things, if it comes down to it. There's even spare cells made for people, still mostly intact - no one's going to come poking around in here even if someone does go missing. Techno can’t make fun of him for not having a house. Not that he ever COULD, because Dream has ANOTHER house, but now he has a really cool fortified one that everyone can see, even if they don’ t know it’s his house. And the brief stint as its Warden, staring at the Idiot in Idiotsville (which only gained that name AFTER he left it, thank you very much), was a rush. Was power, was revenge, was payback for every piece of the plan that went wrong along the way. Having control back after having none of it for so long....
But Sam is gone now. Pandora needs no Warden. She does, however, get lonely, in the way that Dream gets lonely. He sets the bed down over the corner where he used to sleep, huddled in a ball, trying to find the balance between freezing obsidian and burning lava radiation through the walls. Dream knows it's probably not the healthiest decision, but it's a decision he gets to make.
Pandora is a prison no longer. Now, it's just home.
