Anyone else with a fluctuating gender have a list of the specific genders they experience? For example, I am some type of fluctuating non-feminine gender - I use genderqueer mainly (gendersatyr ig?)

and I have a LONG list. tho i may experience them in different ways than other ppl (mostly in amount.)

however i refer to myself as genderqueer/transmasc/nb mainly because how tf do i explain this to cis ppl

Genderamni

A gender apart of the genderfluid fragment system, where one isn’t a binary man or woman, and is exclusively (or nearly exclusively) fluid between genders that are feminine, unaligned, and xenine; however one experiences masculine genders under one, any combo, or all of these conditions:

Partly: One may only experience feminine genders or genders relating to masculinity in name, such as Antiboy, Offboy, Alteboy, Wildmasculine, Demiboy, Demiboyflux, Proxvir, Pixelboy, Nan0boy, Dawnian, etc. The femininity one experiences may feel “partly there”, under a demigender lens, genders that are either close-to-feminine, and/or genders one can only described as genders that are vaguely relating to femininity.

Combo: One may only experience feminine genders that are combined with another gender, such as being bigender/multigender, such as Eclipsian, Novarian, Pistolian, etc ( of any gender system terms that are a combination of feminine genders and something else), Xenoboy, Xenboy, Enboy, Xoy, etc.

Rarely: One simply very rarely experiences feminine genders to the point they may not feel completely relevant to one’s identity, however they still are there.

The masculine equivalent is Genderfluvi, and the non-xenine equivalent is Genderpyla. Can also be called Genderfysent or Genderslyphent.

Genderamni, Genderamnient, Genderamnil were originally posted September 11th, 2022. Genderamnik was originally posted September 12th, 2022. These terms were all originally on separate posts with their masculine equivalents.

I’m gonna add this onto every post but these definitions are based on the definitions of the other GFFS terms on the LGBTA wiki, so “unaligned” here actually includes abinary, atrinary, etc. genders that aren’t xenine. Basically any gendered feeling that isn’t masculine, feminine, or xenine. (Which also doesn’t include Agender, or other genders that describe lack of gender.)

Underneath the keep reading is segments about how I named the terms and how I went about making the flags. The info isn't too important to the definitions or anything and would've made this post super long, so I've just put them below.

I'll answer for my main 3, Ares, Idris, and Ador. (All 3 were made by @joolianjay my QP :3 !!)

💝 - what is your oc f/os love language (gift giving, acts of service, words of affirmation, etc)? what kind do they give and what kind do they like to receive?

Ares: Ares likes to flirt a ton so I'd say probably words of affirmation and physical touch. Giving whistles and flirty comments and compliments on top of being very physically affectionate any time I'm near him and I love it even when he's handsy SLDFKJSFDL

Idris: I think acts of service and quality time most often. They like to try to to do things for me ALL the time. Take care of chores, make sure everything's running smooth, helping me out however he can even when I assure him he doesn't have to do anything. Ze just love to help!! That and just being in the same room together whatever we're doing is a very comfortable chill even if it's silent. But that comforting kind of silence, knowing he's nearby always.

Ador: He's similar to Idris in giving acts of service and quality time, but also a TON of words of affirmation. He's SUPER good with his words, speaks very properly and poetically, gives a TON of super romantic compliments and comments that make my heart leap at the simplest of words.

🧸- what is your oc f/os sleeping habits? do they like to cuddle? do they sprawl out on the bed? do they kick the blankets off in the middle of the night?

Well it's easy to answer for Idris and Ador, as Idris is an angel, so ze doesn't need to sleep, and Ador is an entity made of a magical material, so he also doesn't need to sleep, rather rest the form he takes and he can sleep but it's more like a meditation, and he doesn't do so often, only when I ask to cuddle and for him to stay in bed with me.

Ares though, he's a bit of a funny sleeper. First of all he usually stays up really late, unless I drag him to bed with me which, he does mostly and it's gotten him to even his sleep schedule out a little. He usually sleeps on his back, arms behind his head or facing me holding me in some way or pulling me onto his chest. He's very warm and cuddly.

🌈 - is your oc f/o queer? what labels do they use, if any?

Well they're all dating me, a man, and are also primarily masc so I should sure hope so! /J

But yes! All of them are!

Ares is omnisexual,

Idris is gay/MLM and demisexual and is Novarian gender (under the Galactian Alignment System), using he/him, they/them and ze/zeph!

Ador is gay/MLM as well as Gray/asexual. Despite being human, as he identifies as a man despite not having a biological gender to be assigned he is also trans coded :)

I have slowly been falling in love with the idea that the idea of being a 'parent' is a relatively young concept for Cybertronians.

[Rambling continues, slightly more organised, below the cut]

context

In my mind, Idyllic is set at a point within Cybertron’s history where ‘youngling’ is seen as a genuine lifestage — as opposed to it being seen as an ‘adult in smaller armour’.

It is also set at a point where new Cybertronians are made either via assembly, spark-bonding, a variation of the two, or a derivative of one or the other.

The Actuary of Cybertron, Vector Sigma, has long stopped producing new bodies (and sparks). The various hotspots/wells are depleted, and are unlikely to rejuvenate.

difference in responsibility

Cybertronians are pretty hardy. In the distant past, they raised themselves as soon as they came alive — then made on a set schedule by Vector Sigma to populate Cybertron.

After Vector Sigma came the hotspots. Cities formed around them — until the hotspots dried up. By this point, guardianships sprung up in the form of apprenticeships.

These apprenticeships essentially were “I’ll show you how to do this job so you can fend for yourself”. Over time, as public morals shifted, these apprenticeships morphed into mentorships.

Mentorships were ... a bit different. There was more responsibility involved, but the amount differed from mentor to mentor. Some were very involved, others were hands-off to the point where it was more of an apprenticeship and others still were at neither extreme.

But in any case, we can define the two — (1) apprenticeships and (2) mentorships based on the perceived amount of responsibility. Where (1) is less responsibility compared to (2).

In my head, I imagine there's a great body of caselaw surrounding this distinction, but alas ... the legal talk is not the focus of this ramble.

Point is: mentorship evolved into the familial relationships experienced in the time of Idyllic. It is worth noting that this is just a general overview; the change from apprenticeship → mentorship → parental caretakers happened differently depending on the locality and culture.

It is why, even though the adults in Idyllic are about the same age in Idyllic, they had vastly different experiences growing up.

Vosian fliers tend to have large communities — the shift was especially quick for them, and so Starscream grew up with three parental figures.

Elita and Optimus grew up in Tarn. As one of the more industrial city-states, apprenticeships were the norm for both of them.

Prowl, being from Praxus, which is culturally similar to Vos, was much the same as Starscream.

But I want to focus on Skyfire especially.

skyfire + his mentor

Skyfire emerged from a well that was thought to have been completely depleted, around the time when the general Cybertronian attitude shifted from apprenticeship → mentorship.

His mentor, Novarian, was already an older mech by this point. He himself was raised under an apprenticeship. Adding to the matter was the fact that Novarian's career meant he was very socially isolated — and him taking in Skyfire meant Skyfire, too, was isolated in this way.

(As an aside, if you remember the name ‘Novarion Helix’ ... you have known this account for a bit too long.)

When Skyfire was around Aphelion's age, he was already used to calling his mentor by his name (‘Novarion’ or simply ‘Mentor’) versus an affectionate title (‘Ardi’). Their relationship is decidedly not familial in the usual sense.

By the time Novarion was entrusted with Jetfire's care, the new attitude of “younglings need to be parented” still had not influenced him.

And to be honest, Skyfire did most of the emotional aspects of raising his brother — adult!Skyfire remained resentful over it for ... quite a while.

I do think the little trio (Skyfire, Jetfire and Novarian) have patched things up. But I do also think certain habits die hard.
