#I usually look for Beef Stew (pre-cut beef) but there was a sale on uncut beef this time so I got 2lb. #It took about three hours total to cut all the fat out. So much fat. v_v #I mean it really improves the quality when taking the time to cut out all the white before cooking it ...it just takes a really long time. #I was thinking I remembered seeing a youtube video where a guy talked about loving the taste of meat fat so I thought I'd make a poll. #...How can eating fat be enjoyable though? It's like chewing on rubber. If I don't spit it out I have to swallow it without chewing it up. #As a kid my parents called it grissle (grizzle?) and taught it was best to get rid of it before cooking when possible.

I live in the southeast and go to cons in a few different states throughout the year. I see almost zero aot stuff any time I go unfortunately, but there’s a lot of jjk, chainsaw man, genshin, haikyuu, mha, various studio ghibli things, and older animes or video games usually. Personally I’d LOVE to see more aot stuff in the wild. I’d buy your whole stock if I was going to Boston lol, hopefully others feel the same.

lol so today was my last day at the corporate bookstore, and boy do i have words about my time there, but it was a big mistake for them to put me on register for the final half of my shift because i was giving discounts out left and right. I love living out a 2-weeks because especially the final week you get to ride out the high of ‘what are they gonna do? fire me?’ and mm. Yeah. Powerful feeling.

#okay so here’s the thing is that a hardware store near me is having a big sale this weekend and there’s a few things that I had been eyeing #and researching for my home that are on sale like my living room / kitchen have really tall ceilings and I’d need an extra tall ladder to #get up there to change lightbulbs check the fire alarm and paint and they have one on sale from like 160 to 120 tomorrow that seems like a #good choice and I need a random orbital sander for some projects like sanding the wood planks that we are going to use to replace my porch #and I’ve been working on sanding my kitchen table I got used to get the paint off and stain instead and similar with my coffee table and #that’s on sale from like 50 to 20 dollars plus the sanding pads are on sale a few bucks off as well #and I think there’s one or two smaller things plus I need to get groceries tomorrow and I got a coupon in the mail for free fries with a #purchase at a burger place and I was thinking of taking myself out to lunch tomorrow before I saw about the sale and started making #decisions about potentially spending a lot of money and I have anxiety spending money and I’ve been working on it but it’s still something #that I will probably struggle with somewhat for the rest of my life it’s about managing in healthy #ways instead blah blah blah but sometimes when I talk to my aunt about this she gets frustrated with me because she thinks if I need those #things and have the money I should just buy it and not cause a scene about it and I don’t want to be dramatic but it’s like a #piercing adrenaline fear of not having the money to survive or get what I need in the future and anyways this isn’t what I meant to talk #about what I meant to talk about was that I’m thinking of spending a lot of money tomorrow and technically I have the money and the stuff is #on sale at least the hardware stuff not the groceries so despite it feeling like I’m spending a lot of money at once it will be more cost #efficient to buy them tomorrow than if I waited a few months and there wasn’t a sale going on #so I should purchase them and get groceries and maybe MAYBE even take myself out to lunch as a celebration of how much effort I’ve been #putting into fixing up my home that I love so much and just getting through this period of so much change as best I can #and not have a panic attack about it because it’s going to be okay and I have the money and I have a job with money coming in and I need #those items anyway and will need to buy them at some point and they will likely be more expensive in the future so it is okay for me to #spend the money on it now and it’s not the end of the world everything is going to be okay *right*? #I don’t know I’m just talking to myself mostly #this was a way to get my thoughts out about it without being advised to just get over it #also my tummy hurts and I’m being so brave about it #sort of lol

I’m trying! I couldn’t get tickets and was unable to even do the verified fan thing again cause I was in ED treatment and without a phone / computers. I didn’t even see the email. An TM cancelled sales to the general public.

I hope there’s still a way. I know the demand is really high, but ticketmaster and resell sites are known to hold onto tickets to increase the value. There were seats that weren’t even showing up when I went to my show that later ended up going for like half the price the week of, and people have said that happened again so idk. Fingers crossed.

#i just want to point out that this isn't just automation. it's different for every company but a lot of it comes down to profiteering imo #the video game industry made disgusting amounts of money during the pandemic. best three years of sales in history #but that momentum was never going to keep up forever. even when the momentum was at full swing people were getting laid off #Activision-Blizzard laid off over a hundred people just before christmas while bobby kotick got a $250 million bonus #thst might have even been before the pandemic #but you're seeing it with microsoft and ubisoft. wouldn't surprise me if sony and nintendo were following suit in a less public manner #microsoft - arguably the biggest tech conglomerate in the world (next to tencent) - laid off 10 thousand workers alone #i live in a town with just over 10 thousand people. in my entire fucking town. in my perspective that's more or less the world around me #all of those people - jobless #facebook - didn't like 7k people just get fired? that's hot on the heels of john carmack leaving too #john carmack is probably one of the top 100 people in the tech industry. his tech improvements helped aging PC hardware keep up for years #DOOM might be a meme but it ran that well because id software under john carmack revolutionised rendering techniques and scrolling #and stuff like that. john carmack has been at the forefront of graphical technology and game development for 30+ years #that's resulted in a couple duds like RAGE. he was also all-in on voxel technology before he moved into VR #all of that was context for this: john carmack left meta (who bought oculus) and lambasted the company for poor management on the way out #saying that he'd never seen such unnecessary and wanton expenditure in his career. meta were throwing their money at things thay don't work #here's john carmack trying to lay the groundwork of a successful game for meta's metaverse. here's meta chasing superfluous buzzwords #meta spent almost $14 BILLION on buzzwords and marketing at the behest of the actual tech. and then they FIRED 7000 PEOPLE!!!!!! #they had a HAIL MARY working on their game - because metaverse IS A GAME - and they prioritised SELLING THE PRODUCT BEFORE BUILDING IT #IT COST THEM $14 BILLION + THEIR HAIL MARY - AND THEN THEY FIRED THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE!!!!!! #Ubisoft and Activision-Blizzard have been facing mass resignations after years of abusive and toxic workplaces #and on top of that they're firing people too. google stadia just went under. it wouldn't surprise me if 2k and rockstar were firing people #I don't know how many other unemployed people there are in america - hundreds of thousands? but 20k more is even worse for everyone #keep in mind that even with a $14 billion loss - meta still makes billions.
