this is from the very new wip that was born today (or yesterday night i guess) never thought i would be writing Vampire!Henry but here i am XD

The thing is Alex knows that dating a vampire brings along certain cons. He has watched Twilight enough times to know about them; despite Henry’s insistence likening “Twilight” to what porn is to sex education. “It’s all fictitious, love,” Henry has said many times. And Alex knows—his boyfriend doesn’t quite shimmer beneath the sunlight like in the tales, even if he does exude the genteel fragility reminiscent of a Victorian gentleman with his pale skin but that’s because he is old enough to belong to that bygone era.  Now, as Alex observes Henry's fangs gleaming, a thought strikes him: perhaps twilight does have one thing right. But drinking blood—it’s not a con, not necessarily, no. Despite being a vampire, Henry does not have a penchant for killing. Alex knows—he knows about the hunts, the blood, the feeding. On numerous occasions, Alex has caught himself wiping away the lingering traces of blood from the corner of his mouth after a hunt. He is aware of the blood bags Henry keeps stored in a separate freezer; it’s not exactly a secret that Henry feeds on blood. He is a vampire—he has to drink blood. However, Alex has never seen him drink it.  Alex’s gaze fixates on Henry’s fangs as they delicately skim over his bottom lip. Right. Well, then. This can’t be happening. Henry’s eyes search his boyfriend’s face before he wills his gaze to return to Alex’s finger.

I have written this scene wrong, no joke, like six times. This way is… also wrong. But I think I’m gonna save it for later cuz I like its overwrought mopeyness.

It’s the same push and pull he’s been feeling for months–years, maybe. Buck’s drawn to the solidness of Eddie, to the utter safety of him, like seeking high ground in a tsunami. And yet giving in to that need feels like failure. He doesn’t remember falling asleep in Eddie’s arms nearly as clearly as he remembers waking up with the aftertaste of pathetic confessions on his tongue and regret that pounded like a migraine. It’s cheating. It’s a trick. He makes himself vulnerable and Eddie swoops in to save him. Buck learned the routine so well as a little kid that he falls back on it now without even thinking and he hates it.

He knows it only works so long. He knows he can only push so far. He knows there are only so many hospital visits and late night phone calls that he’s allowed before people stop showing up and stop answering and still Buck insists on pushing. There’s a yawning chasm inside him where his heart should be and it begs and begs and begs to be filled past the limits of what even the most generous person has to give.

Thanks for the tag @hoodie-buck! 🩷 This is from my Amazing Race fic, which I thought might be a one-shot, but is quickly devolving into a two-shot faster than I can say "roadblock". Enjoy!

Eddie sighs, wringing his hands together. “So, I’ve been thinking a lot. About what you said the other day. How I should put myself out there more. And how I should maybe start doing more things for myself.”

“Right,” Buck says, cocking his head a little.  

“And I think you were right about that. You made me think about things in a way that I hadn’t really before. Mainly what I’m doing with my life, and what I’m getting out of it. I’ve been living with Christopher so front of mind that I never really stopped to think about what I want. And so I brought you here to ask you something that I think is a little overdue.”

Buck straightens up in his seat and sets his hands on the table. He looks back at Eddie, eyes glimmering with something that looks strangely like hope. “Okay.”

“Buck.” Eddie takes a deep breath. “Will you be my partner?” He clears his throat. “Uh, m-my Amazing Race partner,” he clarifies quickly because he realizes that was his id talking there. He suddenly wants to sink underneath the floorboards of this establishment and live on as a cellar stowaway, if it means he'll never be perceived or slip up again.

Buck just gapes at him–eyes wide, mouth hanging open, no reply. It’s as if unbridled joy was thrown into a bowl with wilting disappointment and was promptly blended into the most utter confusion he’s ever seen on a person, even for Buck. His eyes, his brow, his cheeks and his lips all tell vastly different stories. For the first time in Eddie’s life, he’s not sure what to make of Buck’s response. 

“Oh.”

Oh? This was… not the reaction he’d been expecting. “Yeah. Is, um, everything okay?”

“Yeah, yeah,” Buck says, vaguely gesturing into the air. “Just, uh, processing it all. So you’re… you’re really going to do it?”

Eddie nods. “I called her back this morning. You were right. I should do something for myself. A little extra money wouldn’t hurt. And who knows? Maybe it could be fun.”

“And you want me to run it with you? What about your sisters, or–or your parents?”

“You really think I could stand to race around the world with anyone in my family right now? And I hope you realize that all the reasons that you said I’d be good at it apply to you, too. You know more random facts about the world than anyone else I know, and you know so much about the race. And I trust you to have my back. Can’t really say that for many other people.” His eyes widen. “You know how to drive stick, right? ‘Cause Bobby says that’s important.”

“I do, actually.” Bucks gaze shifts down to the table, his fingers lacing together anxiously. “Eddie, I–I can’t…” he trails off, and flits his eyes toward him again, but can't quite meet him square. “You sure you really want to do this with me?”

“Are you kidding? You’re the only person I’d want to do this with.” This, and everything else, for the rest of my life. “So, what do you say? You in?”

Mikey Goes To Oz

<Time spent: 49 hours 17 minutes>

When Mikey takes some time away from a loud family squabble he accidentally ends up getting “flushed” down the sewers. This winds up sending him to the colorful land of Oz where he meets a good witch, a wicked witch, a brainless scarecrow, a heartless Tinman, a cowardess lion, and a powerful wizard, all disguised behind very familiar faces.

A canon adjacent spin off set before the season one finale but after they discover Splinter is Lou Jitsu

I wanted to fit each of the boys into their “you’ve had this all along” category. Leo isn’t brainless, in fact he’s pretty clever with a street smart, people reading ability on par with Donnie’s intelligence. Donnie isn’t heartless, he just has a tough time expressing his feelings. They are complex and unalgorithic but he can get just as excited or sad or angry as anyone, as much as he may deny it. Raph isn’t a coward, but being brave sometimes means admitting you’re scared and that you maybe don’t have all the answers. You dont have to be strong all the time and you don’t have to do it by yourself.

In the movie Dorothy’s journey home is also a representation of her running away. The important thing was to remember there were people who cared about her. Mikey is experiencing a similar phenomenon, wanting the escape the bad vibes in the lair. His “you’ve had it all along” is interesting because it is an object, since the Ruby kneepads could’ve taken him home the whole time. And sometimes getting home means going on a journey only to realize you never left.

I put April as Glinda because Glinda appears as a defender of the weak, and I see April in a similar light. Always willing to help and beat someone up if it is so required. Splinter as The Wizard of Oz represents Splinters own willingness to hide behind different personas, his running from the past and the pulling back of the curtain for Mikey in timeline. The Wizard grows through the movie, albeit quickly, and ends up leaving Oz to go home leaving his legacy with the scarecrow, the Tinman, and the lion. In this case the passing of the baton to his sons.

Meanwhile Draxum as the wicked witch felt much more how Mikey sees Draxum at this time in the show, mostly just an antagonistic force who wants something from them. Fun fact: I imagine throughout this dream, Draxum is uninterested in being the wicked witch but is pressed into it via plot. Hence his disinterest in being “melted.”

Additional characters not pictured: Big Mama as the Wicked Witch of the East (those were her Ruby kneepads!!) and Todd as the Mayor of Munchkin Land. If you can think of more, feel free to leave them in the comments or tags.

Art Wip Game

@artisticallyill you asked about the Battle Cody & Obi so here it is

This one is definitely a bad name. While technically accurate, it's not the defining thing about this. Battle Cody & Obi is the name of my drawing that is my Codywan FMAB AU. Truly the title says nothing, and idk what i was thinking when i named the drawing but it's my fmab au

Here's it is so far:

In this au, the jedi are the state alchemists, Obi-Wan is a general and a state alchemist and a highly revered one but I don't know what his alchemy specialization is yet. Cody is his right hand who watches his back and has several big guns and people are scared of him.

I imagine this drawing to be them fighting Maul, who would absolutely just set a bunch of things on fire, not even with alchemy but with straight up matches cuz he's petty like that and Cody and Obi-Wan are trapped by the fire and waiting to see where he strikes next.

When I was ideating this, I realized that their dynamic is already pretty similar to Mustang and Hawkeye, especially with the "we can't date cuz you're my superior officer/subordinate" and the "i will flirt with others as a tactical move but it's fake and the real adoration only comes out with you"

random note about king on that animation, i got really lucky with how simple his animation was and how clean my sketches were to begin with that i was able to do very minimal cleanup on what i had sketched (and add back. his horn. it's supposed to take place just after echoes of the past, Oops) and call it done that way instead of having to redraw the entire thing like i had to on his dad

first sketch > line cleanup > nearly final animation (i'd added slight eye movements last-second but otherwise that's the final)

I AM NOT AN ANIMATOR I AM JUST A HOBBYIST... #i animate like once a year... shits hard man.... but apparently when i do animate. its extremely good :) proud of that #even if i have an extremely unhinged way of animating #i don't have an animation program i draw everything individually frame by frame in photoshop #each character had their own psd file with the same background and every frame was its own group. twice. one for sketch one for colors #i do test takes with gifcam (there are literally 55 WIP gifs in my documents folder rn) by switching between layers and taking a 'frame' #and i compile in blender's video editor and to move things separately i save each character's frame in its own .png 'cel' #so luz was her own 'cel'. king was his own 'cel.' etc. and then i have to manually slide the lengths of the frames around #to match the right framerate. traditionally animation is animated at 24 FPS on 2's - so 12 frames a second. i go on 3s. 4 to slow down #anime-ass framerate. i'm insane apparently but its what i like to do #i dont understand real animation programs they have too many pieces but i DO understand photoshop and my funny brushes #imagine having Digital Programs and Still basically doing ye olde traditional animation method just in the computer #if im Just making a gif then i only use gifcam and switch between layers. like digital stop motion. somethings wrong with me

thought i'd do something different for this today :^) i'm working on a powerpoint (inspired by ezra velocitic thank u for the idea ^-^) to hopefully one day be able to explain the cyberpunk extended blorboverse that red reaperkiller and i have been working on for over a year now! it also includes my own story with vincent and his friends since the two stories eventually come together sometime in 2083 and 2084 (yeah i know the game is called 2077 i don't care leve me aloe). here's some slides to give you an idea of what kind of lore to expect :^)
