Series: Sehnsucht, Chapter Four: Something More
Pairings: Geralt x Teen!Reader, Yennefer x Teen!Reader
Warnings: low self worth,
Words: 3.6k
————————
—Four Years Ago—
“You’ve gotten more powerful, but it has slowed you down,” Eret’s clear voice broke through the air. “You need to have confidence in your strikes.”
She huffed as she tossed him a glare, pointing the tip of her sword in his direction sharply before repositioning her feet and doing the striking sequence again. This time, she struck the wood firmly.
Eret laughed, a smirk playing on the edges of his lips as he leaned against a boulder. The noise of the camp resonated in the background. She grunted.
“Alright! You’re confident, but your confidence lacks commitment. Do it again.”
Stubbornly, she obeyed, but quicker.
“Keep your eyes up on your target. You don’t need to stare at your blade.”
Again.
“Hands.”
Again.
“Faster.”
Again.
“Don’t forget your breathing.”
Again.
“Perfect,” Eret said with a growing grin, crossing his arms over his chest and covering the flaming rose crest on his garment. “Keep it up and you’ll be the best swordsman around. Do it a few dozen more times and you can be done for the day.”
The young teenager paused, and smiled. Eret took a seat beside the boulder and pulled out a notebook as she prepped again. She shook the soreness out of her muscles, reminding herself of the spell casting a brown illusion over her blue eyes. It was an amusing thought: the best swordsman. It was a rather great exaggeration of her skills. She was a quick learner, to be sure, but it would still take much longer before she was good enough to defend herself against anyone who knew a thing or two about the art. Besides, there were still Witchers in these parts, so the best was out of the question. Not that she would ever say such a scandalous thing in front of the humans.
“Do not forget why you are here,” D’ao whispered in her thoughts. She smiled.
“I haven’t.”
“And the swordsmanship lessons?”
“Payment for showing them around!”
“You could have taken gold.”
“But then I wouldn’t know swordsmanship!”
“You have magic,” D’ao grumbled and she chuckled. He sounded like he was pouting.
“And I am grateful, D’ao, but I would also like to be able to wield more than a dagger,” she said and D’ao huffed. She shook her head with a grin, repeating the striking sequence. “Don’t worry, I won’t forget my magic lessons. And I’ve thought about this. They aren’t going to explore the ancient ruins for another month or so, and if they find anything to do with genies, I’ll be there to take care of it. But since I have time, I might as well learn something from them.”
“The ancient ruins will be dangerous for them, yes, and for us if the rumors about ancient genie history being there are to be believed.”
“If there is history there, I’ll burn it. You know that.”
“I do…”
“So don’t worry so much.”
“It isn't that I am worried…”
“...”
She wasn’t wrong. Her swordsmanship training did take months, and as time passed, the Knights of the Flaming Rose grew accustomed to her consistent, silent presence. They did not suspect her even as they hunted those ancient ruins, or how she went in first. Not even when their efforts had been in vain, finding nothing more than charred, unreadable books.
They grew proud when she trained and fought, an amusement coursing through them as she became able to defeat even their swiftest commanders. Perhaps their pride had taken a blow the first few times to have been bested by a teenager, but that quickly morphed into astonishment and legend. After all, it had only been a few months since she had joined their company as a guide, and her success was a testament to their ability to teach. That, and her stubborn determination.
It was still a challenge for her, though, as the time passed. It was a strange sort of existence, to be among, but not a part of them. And still, the strange warmth left within her bones by Yennefer and the Witchers remained unsettled. It stirred in her and craved to be resolved. The feeling could not escape the foreign places those people had touched, and she didn’t know how to feed the craving.
She thought she saw Yennefer sometimes, and her heart would leap into her throat. Geralt would pass her in the street only to be gone the moment her head snapped towards him. And every single time, there was a hollow, painful ache. Because, no, they weren’t there at all. She didn’t even know what she wanted from them, really. They were simply…warm, and she had been bitterly cold her entire life.
The same sensations showed their haunting features when she looked in the mirror and saw the color of her eyes. Brown hiding a monstrous blue. The scars peeked over her shoulders and neck, stretching down her back, marring her from shoulder to waist. The welted ring on her left shoulder. Her brand. It exposed everything she was, and she despised it with cold hatred. She knew what she was, there was no need for such a reminder.
And she knew, once the Knights of the Flaming Rose saw the traces of her birthright on her back, they would know as well, and they would turn on her. They had their orders, after all.
They spoke of her kind around campfires, horror stories passed around as if she was no different than the monsters they slew in the swamps and forests. There was no difference to them, between her and the kikimora and the cockatrice, the ones who slayed entire villages, killers of young girls born at the time of the Conjunction. They tied her name to fear, whether they realized it or not. She wondered what would happen if they discovered that the monster they created in their minds trained with them, washed their trousers, and guided them through the forest of which they had no map? They hunted monsters, what would happen when they found out she was one?
She didn’t stay long enough to find out. The cold ache settled in her bones. She disappeared in the night with a stolen sword and a satchel for her herbs, leaving behind nothing but rumors and twisted truths for anyone who came looking. After all, the truth didn’t matter in the end, and could not stand against preconceived beliefs. She would not wait for them to find her nature carved on her skin so that she could be hunted. She would not let them mount her head on a spike, for she did not want to prove to them the monster they believed her to be. So, the darkness covered her escape, her long-time companions lost to a beautiful past, a pleasant memory, as she chased a cure for the ache in her bones.
After all, even monsters feared things.
Even monsters craved for something more.
—Now—
The next time she woke to the warmth seeping into her skin, a strange cot beneath her back, and the sound of tiny pitter-patters on the floor. She had entertained herself for several minutes by remaining beneath the thick fur that covered her, but then she toyed with the rats. She had just caught one by the tail when the door creaked open.
She froze, rat dangling by its tail and her mouth dropped open as Yennefer showed herself in the doorway. The woman was as unchanged as ever and exactly as she had remembered. Long, beautiful black hair loose about her shoulders, starkly purple eyes and graceful—so very graceful.
“Um…” Yennefer started, her wonderfully wide eyes narrowing at the sight of the rat. She dropped it quickly. It scampered off with a panicked squeak. “I’m Yennefer.”
Ah…yes. It had been years now…of course she wouldn’t remember. The girl swallowed thickly and stood to her feet, offering a short bow of her head in greeting as she whispered her name.
“I came to see how you were doing,” Yennefer said, “And to see if you were hungry.”
She nodded quickly. “I’m fine, and…food in my bag.”
Yenn shook her head, motioning the girl to follow her as she turned. “Nonsense, you’ll have something hot. It’s Ciri’s turn to cook, so it isn’t bad, if a bit bland.”
She followed at Yenn’s heels, still astounded that she was here of all places. She hadn’t thought the sorceress would be hiding amongst the Witchers.
Yennefer led her back to the great hall she had first entered into, and as the other Witchers appeared, she hid a bit more behind the tall woman. Amongst them, though, she could not find a certain familiar face.
“How’s…Geralt?” she asked awkwardly, shuffling on her feet. It would be strange to say they had already met, wouldn’t it?
“He is doing better than yesterday, still unconscious, but doing okay.”
“...yesterday?” she muttered. How long had she slept?
“Yes, it is late morning now.”
“Oh…”
Yennefer sat her down in front of a large plate in the center of the table. It seemed as though it was the one everyone grabbed from. Vesemir sat across from her, Lambert beside him, and Coen next. Yennefer sat beside her and upon seeing the girl’s hesitance, grabbed a biscuit and placed it in front of her.
Her tongue grew heavy in the large company as she nibbled on her bread. It wasn’t exactly quiet, as Witchers—well, she assumed they were all Witchers—communed in the hall. Laughter erupted from the tables behind them now and then, the clank of cups and bottles, easy conversation. An ashen-haired woman sat near her, and while she did not say much, she offered a number of meaningful glances.
“Are you a mage?” Coen asked, trying to lift the thick blanket of awkwardness seated at the table. She nodded hesitantly.
“What kind of spell are you casting right now?” Lambert asked coldly. She almost preferred his bluntness over kindness. It was familiar. She raised a brow. “Our medallions detect magic and monsters, so either you are casting a spell right now, or you are a cleverly disguised beast. And in that case, you aren’t in the best of company.”
“Lambert,” Vesemir scolded, but Sir Ginger was unshaken.
“You could spare to be a little more polite,” Yennefer snapped before turning back to her. “Sorry, he’s just the resident arse.”
Lambert scoffed. Fiddling with her bread, she rubbed the crumbs between her fingers and shifted uncomfortably. Looking back and meeting the resident arse’s eye, she dispelled the illusion. Her eyes shifted, a field of brown morphing into blue seas, like lightning beneath the ocean or trapped within a glazed bottle. Lambert’s medallion ceased its soft tremors.
The Witchers leaned back, a strange look dawning on their faces. She glanced quickly at Yennefer and swallowed thickly. A sliver of hope sparked in her chest as Yenn’s gaze turned thoughtful.
“Illusions,” the ashen-haired girl said, scooting closer. “Hi, I’m Ciri.”
She offered a smile and nodded in greeting.
“Can you do any other kinds of magic?” Ciri asked, but her tone was less accusing than Lambert’s, and more curious.
She nodded, then whispered softly. The medallions began to shake loud enough so even she could hear their hiss. The Witchers stiffened, painfully aware as the air in the room began to shift. Even the tables behind them grew silent and careful. The candles lit upon the table stirred, and the flames went out with a quick gust of wind. The smoke caught and carried in front of them in a long line stretching over the table. The water from Vesemir’s cup rose in a small thread like vein, and dust collected together from the tables and floors. They joined the bit of smoke in a triple helix, and it spun for them in a coordinated display before it dissipated and she ceased. Then she waited.
She waited as her heart pounded violently in her chest and her stomach twisted. Her skin crawled and ate away at her. They were Witchers.
“The Elements,” Yennefer said, and she said it so casually, as if it was nothing more than a comment about the snowstorm raging outside. As if it were unimportant, a mere observation, and not something she had spent a lifetime trying to carve out of her own body. Hidden since—since everything. Startled as if struck dumb, the girl remained silent and stared at the woman in baffled wonder.
She shouldn’t have been so surprised, really, especially since Yennefer was a mage herself. And Geralt hadn’t—
Vesemir softened, and his voice was gentle and quiet. “You will not find trouble with us, child. You are welcome here.”
She faced him when he reached across the table, offering her another handful of bread. It was unsettling, disturbing even, just how much her chest ached as she accepted it from him. You are welcome here. No one spoke further, but their expressions told more than they might have intended to say, especially Vesemir’s.
They had noticed something in her response, apparently. Only, she did not know they could hear just how fast her heart was beating, or see how her fingers twitched anxiously, how her body was coiled and ready to leap from danger should any of them twitch. She didn’t know what they saw in her at that moment, or what sort of reflection she was for them. But, what she did know, was they had yet to draw their swords, or look at her in disdain. She would not turn away a kind eye for all the heartache in the world—especially when they also offered bread and a warm fire in the cold of winter.
“Where are you from?” Yennefer asked.
The girl shrugged and waved her hand in a circle. “Around.”
“What about your parents?” Coen asked.
She grimaced, then shrugged again.
Vesemir raised a brow. “Have you been on your own?” he asked, and she nodded. “How long?”
“Um…” she muttered and looked away, her brow furrowing. She determined the time with the Knights of the Flaming Rose probably didn’t count for much. “Seven.”
“Days?”
“Years.”
“That long?” Coen asked, surprised.
She nodded and they fell grave. She shrugged and offered a smile. Perhaps they would have said more—perhaps she would have spoken more, having at last built the courage—but they were interrupted by another, much more welcomed presence. She jolted in her seat when Geralt’s voice came from the passageway as he entered the room.
“Tell me it isn’t Lambert’s turn to cook,” he grumbled, and his appointed victim scoffed. He was slow, and his steps were shaky, but he was awake and moving about.
“Geralt!” Ciri started, jumping out of her seat and rushing over to him. He accepted her embrace easily, wrapping his arms around the young woman for several moments. They whispered something between them, but her ears couldn’t strain to catch them before they parted.
“It’s good to see you awake,” Vesemir said as they approached.
Geralt hummed and took a seat beside Yennefer. There was a look between them, one a little too long, too intense, to hold the same meaning as the way the others looked at her. The way she leaned into his side and smiled before turning her attention back to the table. It was something more, though she didn’t know what it was exactly. More just felt like the proper word.
Geralt turned toward her now, and a faint smile pulled at his lips. “You made it further than the gap, I’m impressed.”
She chuckled a silent laugh and nodded. Coen rose from the table, walking over to the fire pit at the center of the room where an iron pot hung over the flames.
“How’s your leg?” Geralt asked as he reached for bread. She raised a curious brow. “That old man grazed your leg. I might not have been able to move, but it would have been difficult to remain asleep with all the jolting around.”
“Wait—” Yenn started.
“What happened?” Vesemir asked for her.
“We were attacked upstream of the Lixela. There was a struggle,” Geralt explained briefly before nodding toward her. “Your leg?”
Surprised, she lightly shrugged. “It’s alright.”
“Have you treated it?” he asked and she nodded. “Good.”
“If you’d like, I can take a look at it later,” Yennefer offered, “See if I can heal it.”
She nodded stiffly as Coen returned. He placed a bowl of…of something in front of Geralt, and then another in front of her. Looking up at him curiously, he smiled, motioning to the bowl.
“Eat.”
She bowed her head in thanks, and he nodded. Whatever it was, it smelled absolutely divine. Doing as she was told, she ate, and the moment the strange flavors erupted over her tongue, she hunched over the bowl and ate like a woman starved. She didn’t mind too much how the others watched her, but she didn’t know what was so interesting about her animalistic behavior. Heat crept up her neck as she tried to slow down.
“Where will you go?” Yennefer asked when her bowl was empty, and once more, she shrugged.
“This winter is going to be harsh if a blizzard this early is anything to go by,” Vesemir said. “You’ll have to winter somewhere.”
She shook her head. “The woods are my home. Winter has never changed that,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper, but with their enhanced hearing, the Witchers heard her well enough. They didn’t seem to like that response very much, and silence followed for several moments. She cringed.
“Speaking of it…thank you for the food. I should gather my things…” she said and stood, her body resisting. Vesemir spoke before the others were able, keeping her from walking away.
“Stay,” he insisted. “At least until the storm passes over. It would mean death to leave in the midst of it. As I said, you are welcome here. Have no rush to leave.”
Something in her chest melted, like molten stone, and heated her up from within. She swallowed back the thickening knot in her throat as she flicked her eyes from Vesemir to Yenn and Geralt. Her winter-cracked hands gripped at the tattered ends of her shirt tightly.
Bowing her head low, she cleared her throat. “Thank you.”
Another silence followed, but shorter than the last and broken by Yennefer standing. “Come,” she said, her hand brushing over Geralt’s shoulders as she passed behind him. She wrapped an arm around her shoulders and guided her out of the hall. “While you are here, the least we can do is help get you cleaned up.”
It was in these efforts of “cleaning up” that she found herself standing awkwardly in the corner as Yennefer poured a bit of heated water into a wooden tub. The room was rather dark, lit by the fireplace and a couple of candles. Heavy curtains draped over the windows, blocking out any daylight, and with it, the cold. It smelled nice too, like lilacs and…and something fruity. It was a comfortable sort of space, calm.
Two chairs rested by a small round table, a fur draped over its back. A book of sorts, a ribbon, a gown. It was soft, in a way, as if Yennefer had somehow captured the feeling of the early morning sun shining between spring leaves in a bottle and let it loose in the room. It resembled Yennefer deeply. It was as if the room was her own as Yenn sat on the edge of the tub and dipped her hand into the water. As if the room embraced her in the same way she embraced it.
Yenn smiled, motioning her to come away from the door where she had stood the entire time. “It’s alright, come here. The water is ready.”
Hesitantly, the girl approached and Yennefer stood. She walked with so much grace the girl looked away, as if by simply watching her, she would somehow stain the woman.
“Shall I leave?” Yennefer asked, and her head shot up nearly as quickly as she shook it. Something more resided in the room, and she feared that if Yenn were to leave, that feeling would go with her. That warm golden sunlight would follow her out of the room and she would be left with the dying embers of the fireplace—candle smoke lost by her very breath.
“Alright,” Yenn said and careful, as if she were reaching out to a frightened animal, rested a hand on the girl’s arm. “Then why don’t we get you out of these?”
Unsure, the girl nodded. It wasn’t as though she actually needed help getting out of her garments, but there was something so gentle in the way Yennefer’s hand touched her skin and helped her. Something so careful, as if she were delicate.
Nothing about her was delicate, she thought. Her skin was dry and cracked, her hands and feet calloused, and dirt was so well buried beneath her nails, she wouldn’t be surprised if she was growing moss. She did not speak gracefully or walk straight and posed like Yennefer. And her back—well, that might as well have been beaten leather. She screamed like a madwoman and bared her teeth like an animal. She was the furthest thing from delicate. And yet…the way Yennefer helped her left her wondering.
She jumped at the sudden gasp Yennefer took. That soft, lingering touch traced along her bare back, trailed over the sharp, welted lines leading from her shoulders to her lower back, from her sides to her spine. They brushed over the ring on her left shoulder, traced the “W” branded into her skin. Embarrassment crawled up the girl’s neck and ignited her cheeks. She did not raise her head when Yennefer turned her around to face her, too consumed with the burning behind her eyes.
“It’s you,” Yennefer whispered, and something within the child fell apart.
She’d remembered.

yknow this is a thought that has been rattling around in my head for a long while, so i figured i may as well share it.
almost everyone is very well aware that the dream smp is a very morally grey narrative. we all know that, there are no perfectly righteous or purely evil characters, etc etc.
the thing that's been grating on me of late is that the fandom reactions to significant lore events don't really.. reflect this knowledge. hear me out.
ever since the red festival i've felt acutely aware of this. one of the longest-running debates in this fandom was who was in the wrong for tubbo's execution. techno for pulling the trigger, tommy and wilbur for not helping him. i saw post after post after post debating it the rest of that year. and i heavily disliked it. seeing people watch these characters have to improvise with an unpredicted circumstance and react to it imperfectly, reacting how their characters would be expected to, and then deciding to label some as right and some as wrong. to put them on those levels of morality, rather than viewing it through the morally grey lens the narrative has pushed. again, it just grated on me. treating these characters' decisions and actions as either wrong or right instead of treating them as decisions that move the narrative in fascinating ways and give us a window into their character.
i. dislike. when characters are made to embody either good or evil and have their flaws made respectable and palatable and easily overcome instead of more.. human i guess? it doesnt work for me, thats why i love the dsmp like i do. it's so human.
my brain started revisiting this train of thought after the c!wilbur and c!eret stream in may. the fandom reaction to that was.. a lot. again, post after post i saw opinions on c!eret did worse and c!wilbur's apology didnt make sense, or c!eret was right to be angry at c!wilbur for villainizing them, or any other number of thoughts that stem from the view that one of these characters are right and the other is wrong, that some actions and words were morally justified and others weren't.
very little did i see posts stepping back to look at this conflict in its purest form: a part of the narrative. talking about how fascinating it was that wilbur decided to apologize to eret now, how eret finally admitted how his words had hurt her. every discussion i saw was riddled with the question of did eret really deserve an apology from wilbur, was eret in the wrong for forcing a better apology out of him, who hurt the other more and who really deserved an apology from the other.
i could not help but think back to tubbo's execution after that stream. morally grey characters, morally grey decisions, viewed through the lens of sorting out who's right and who's wrong. who deserves what and how much do they deserve it. what moral box can we put this character into next.
and i've seen this pattern with so many other conflicts!! tubbo's decision to exile tommy, techno betraying pogtopia, doomsday. the narrative places absolutely no blame or condemnation on either side of these conflicts, it doesnt label either as wrong or right, so i guess people just. draw their own conclusions on it? it's weird to me, this need to discuss and debate the rightness and wrongness of these known morally grey characters and their morally grey actions and decisions. which one is better than the other, which one deserves to be listened to and the other condemned, which ones deserve to fight for forgiveness for the rest of their lives and which ones get to recieve it straight away. obviously, i'm not saying people shouldn't have opinions on these topics, i suppose just the constant insistence on subjectivity rather than objectivity when discussing controversial lore events like these irritate me.
i don't particularly know what i hope to achieve with this. i'm certainly not trying to attack anyone who's done this, just expressing my not understanding. it's just a weird way to discuss a morally grey story to me. i'd like to know if anyone else shares this sentiment, or if i'm just spouting nonsense. i don't think i am. this habit in the fandom has been frustrating me since i joined it in august 2020.

i hate the fandoms interpretation of c!eret. and especially the fandoms interpretation of c!erets relationship with foolish. this idea that they're forbidden lovers and eret is a perfect moral person drives me up a fucking wall. foolish died for her and then she literally never goes to see him, genuinely her character was more interesting when she was willingly to play the villain. now it's just this kinda boring person who did one bad thing and refused to own it, instead shoving it onto dream. i like her being kind of awful, it's more fun that way
c!eret's "one bad thing" was never even portrayed at the time as being something they did for bad reasons either it's kind of breathtaking to me. like c!eret literally makes a decision to turn to the other side of a WAR because they thought it was the best bet for peace and that lmanburg was a lost cause bc they were the single person preparing for the battle and c!wilbur was nowhere in sight. which? like? fair fucking enough? it's a war? idk people expect the war to involve people "playing fair" in ways that are really hard for me to conceptualize like "they killed people!" well yeah no shit it was a WAR
like, id say c!eret's behavior after the independence war was kinda worse than the actual final control room in terms of like, actually just being a dick instead of making a hard decision for reasonable reasons when a war was on the horizon and they had to pick a side yaknow. and even then, c!eret is soundly a victim of the lmanburg post-revolution narrative, holy shit? c!wilbur had it OUT for her man. like honestly save c!eret they got so brainwashed by the narrative created to demonize them and scapegoat them that they ended up convinced that they had to flay themselves alive to repent for it and it was like LITERALLY THE MOST REASONABLE DECISION THEY COULDVE MADE AT THAT TIMEEEE like sure it was kinda selfish but what part of lmanburg wasnt fuck my life
like c!eret's "wrongs" that theyre killing themselves the whole time trying to be forgiven for arent even really wrongs it was a WAR . and meanwhile theyre also doing shit like TAKING PEOPLE ON TOURS TO LOGSTEDSHIRE TO TELL THEM ABOUT HOW A TEENAGER ALMOST KILLED HIMSELF ??? AND THIS WAS THEIR GOOD GUY ERA ????? absolutely insane to me.

my issue with the “c!wilbur is escaping the narrative” is in three parts
1: wilbur is not deadpool, he’s a mentally ill person. this distinction is important because the “narrative” that he needs to escape is not the plot of the dream smp, it’s his own black and white thinking that’s lead to him railroading both himself and other people into villain and hero roles.
he’s gone out of his way to make up with as many characters as possible, even characters that he never would have forgiven before his death (such as eret), but he did what he thought he was Supposed To Do for his redemption arc. he created a New narrative of what he was supposed to do and followed it to the letter.
and moreover, in doing so he apologized for things that weren’t his fault, he forgave people without having his trauma caused by them actually Acknowledged, he threatened to kill himself to try to protect tommy from dream And Meant It just months ago (he was willing to kill himself as many times as it took according to cc!wilbur).
Obviously he’s going to get away from many of the people that remind him of his past, and I’m sure that Will help with some of his negative self thinking. but tommy said it best, “the person you need to learn how to forgive is yourself.” we didn’t watch wilbur learn how to love himself, we didn’t watch wilbur learn how to see himself as a normal person, we didn’t watch wilbur forgive himself. we watched wilbur learn how to say Sorry.
there is nothing about wilbur escaping His Own Narrative, because he’s taking that with him wherever he goes. because he’s still mentally ill and he’s still traumatized and he still hasn’t forgiven himself. he’s not Incapable of healing, he absolutely Can grow and change off screen. but that’s exactly it. his ending is that he Might heal off screen and we’ll just have to imagine it.
2: “wilbur escaped the narrative” in the context of the narrative he’s escaping from being the dream smp itself is not satisfying as an answer because it’s plainly describing the exact problem: there will be no conclusions to major story beats because this was done before his narrative was actually Over.
tubbo and wilbur’s conclusion Will Always Be that tubbo forgot the part where wilbur caused his husband to die right in front of him after tubbo deliberately didn’t forgive him because he didn’t trust wilbur and still hurt from the memory of the death He’d suffered while working under wilbur. he’ll never meet ranboo again after ranboo is revived, which means he’ll never get to apologize for taking one of ranboo’s lives, for playing a part in ranboo being trapped in limbo for like 1000 years. niki will never get to reintroduce wilbur into her life after her downspiral was connected to feeling Abandoned and wilbur will never find out that she’d had a villain arc because of him that lead to her trying to, you know, Murder His Brother. we lost out on a quackity resolution because of a Scheduling Issue.
wilbur never confronted his father for doomsday, for killing him, for dehumanizing ghostbur, for hurting his friends and family in his absence. things that were all set up and then dropped to the wayside in favor of pretending that nothing was wrong and that wilbur trusts his advice and judgement.
wilbur won’t be there when dream inevitably starts torturing tommy again, because whatever solution he made (temporary as it was always going to be) was predicated on him Being There To Be That Bargaining Chip.
none of his relationships will ever move forwards on screen again, and that’s a big problem when all of them were left off in places where they Needed to be developed to be emotionally satisfying. “wilbur escaped from the narrative,” in this context, means “wilbur’s story will never finish being told.”
he didn’t subvert the narrative, he got cancelled in the middle of production.
3: wilbur escaping the narrative, escaping from the dream smp, pushes that unstated boundary that traps the other characters in this spot.
if wilbur can literally just leave whenever that raises the question of why nobody else has ever left. why Wilbur didn’t just leave before, if there was never anything keeping them there in the first place.
the characters all stay in this location because they Have to stay for there to be a story. dream didn’t just kick the l’manbergians off the server when he didn’t like that they made a new country because doing so would mean that there’s no story.
why did vikk and lazar stay on the server to get tortured if they could just leave. why did fundy move Very Far Away on the server to self isolate if he could just leave. why did tubbo build snowchester instead of try to convince tommy and ranboo to leave the server. why does jack stay on the server when he feels completely disconnected from everybody else. why did tommy never try to escape off of the server during exile if the whole point was that he wasn’t allowed to go anywhere that’d been touched On The Server. why- why- why- why-
fundy moving Far Away means that he has a narrative reason for pulling away from the rest of the server while A: meaning he’s still technically Available for future lore if he ever wants to participate and B: He Doesn’t Make People Question The Inherent Rules Of The Narrative.
you Can come up with explanations for why x character didn’t make that choice in y situation, but there were was a flesh eating egg that made people do autocannibalism. there’s a serial killer with a revival book and the want to torture on the loose. there was enough tnt dropped on a town to match the blast of a nuclear bomb but Straight Down into the earth’s crust. there’s an evil god that intentionally torments people, up to and including in their afterlife if they die on this server.
“wilbur escaped the narrative” So Why Is There Still A Narrative?

Pregnancy Troubles - Part 1
A biting pain shot through her abdomen as Astrid was finishing the plates. She bit her lip to keep from making a pained sound. Her hand slid over her large belly; she was now at the beginning of the fifth month. “Astrid, is everything okay with you?” Astrid flinched for a brief moment, but in a matter of seconds found herself in the warm brown-green eyes of her mother Ingrid. “Yes, mother, I’m fine, just a little kick from the baby I think.”Her mother smiled gently and stroked her shoulder as she went back to the table where Valka, Eret, Grobber, Astrid's husband Hiccup, her two children and Astrid's father Magnus were sitting. Eret was just about to tell some of his stories about what it was like to live as a dragon hunter under the control of Drago Bloodfist. Astrid was just about to sit down at the table again when that breakneck pain shot through her abdomen again. She suppressed a gasp and grabbed the kitchen island for support. She caught Hiccup's eye, who seemed to have noticed her hesitation. Concern was reflected in his emerald green eyes again as she sat down next to him. He immediately reached for her hand. "What's wrong?" he whispered. “I…” Astrid was about to start when she was interrupted by Grobber’s loud yawn. “Eret, I think we should then?” His husband nodded and the two of them stood up to leave. Hiccup's mother followed suit. Zephyr and Nuffink, who had just been sitting snuggled up to their grandmother, rushed over to their parents. Hiccup took the tired Nuffink in his arms as they all went to the door to say goodbye and thank you for dinner. However, before Hiccup could walk out the door, he was stopped by his father-in-law, whose eyes were as blue as Astrid's and whose hair was also the same color as hers. He's as tall as Hiccup, but in contrast to his son-in-law, he could be compared to an ox because of his stature. Astrid's mother, on the other hand, was the complete opposite, small and petite with mousey brown hair. “Hiccup, I just wanted to say thank you again. I know I said this on your wedding day, but I couldn't have asked for a better son-in-law to take better care of my daughter." A soft smile danced across Astrid's lips as she watched her father and her husband while holding Zephyr's hand held. Her father had always had a problem with all boys who were interested in Astrid, but he immediately accepted Hiccup - or rather, immediately took him to his heart. "Thanks, Magnus, that means I fell," Hiccup smiled. Magnus patted Hiccup on the shoulder with his strong arms before walking over to Astrid.
There were only a few lights burning in the village as the little family made their way home, accompanied by a warm breeze. "So what did you want to tell me earlier?" Hiccup asked impatiently. Astrid, who had leaned her head on his shoulders, murmured: "I'll tell you when we've put the children to bed." Hiccup nodded and unlocked the front door to their House. After the two had put their children to bed, Hiccup helped his wife force herself into her nightgown. “So, Astrid, tell me,” he urged, his hand running over her bulging stomach. “I had pain in my abdomen,” she confessed to him. His eyes widened in horror and she felt him pull her closer to him. “But I’m okay now, I hope,” she assured him. “Please tell me immediately if you feel the pain again, okay?” he asked. Astrid nodded. "I will," she said, placing a loving kiss on Hiccup's cheek. “Come on now, I want to go to sleep.” A small smile played on his lips as he followed his wife into bed, where they cuddled together and fell asleep. She woke up with a start in the middle of the night, the pain in her abdomen worse than before. It burned like someone was plunging a cold knife into her warm flesh. The hair on her neck stood on, end followed by cold beads of sweat running down her temple. She gasped in agony, blackness filling the edges of her eyes. She had to wake Hiccup up. Immediately. “Hiccup, please wake up!” She barely had to wait a minute before her husband sat up in bed. He lit a candle. He stroked her arm. “Are you in pain again?” She nodded. "Good, I'll get your mother immediately." With these words he sprinted out of the room. Astrid struggled to get herself to the edge of the bed, trying to control her breathing and prevent herself from sinking into the darkness. “It’s all good, my little one, we can do it,” she whispered to her stomach. “We can do it. You can do it.” “Mommy?” Astrid spun around in shock, Zephyr and Nuffink were standing at the door. Hiccup probably accidentally woke them up when he stormed out of the house.
To be contioued….

“Astrid didn't feel any attraction to Hiccup until he became useful to the tribe” (c) an Eretstrid fan
That's what I love about most fans of non–canon couples httyd - when you ask why they like their couple, the first thing they answer is: “actually, I've never liked Hiccstrid because...”.
A war is raging on Berk – a lot of fire-breathing, flying reptiles attack the village, destroying crops, stealing cattle and leaving the Vikings without a roof over their heads.
What distinguishes Astrid from her peers is that she knows how to prioritize. Now, when her tribe is on the verge of starvation and utter chaos, Astrid chooses the welfare of the people, not her own. She doesn't need languid looks, she doesn't need butterflies in her stomach and serenades under the window, she doesn't need any of this. All Astrid Hofferson wants at the moment is the well–being of her tribe. So, it's not surprising that Astrid didn't consider Hiccup as an option. There is nothing surprising in the fact that Astrid did not consider anyone as an option.
For example, let's put Eret in this setting. It may seem that Astrid might well be interested in him – he is a tall, attractive man, he has all the qualities necessary for a Viking, and he also acts against dragons. But there is one caveat: Eret works for Drago – for a madman who almost killed the Chief of the Hooligans. Eret does not care about anyone's well-being, he catches dragons solely for the sake of his own prosperity, he grovels before the enemy of Berk. This is enough to make Eret unattractive in the eyes of a girl focused on protecting her tribe. Don't believe those who say that context doesn't matter, because context matters.
Okay, that's sorted out. Let's fast forward a bit to when the Vikings began to live in harmony with the dragons. Astrid can relax – now that the village is not in danger, she can think about herself. Astrid has always been and remains a warrior, but now she has much more time and opportunities for self-realization. Astrid tries her hand at dragon training, trains with Gromgilda and helps ensure comfortable coexistence between Vikings and dragons.
And that's when Astrid really pays attention to Hiccup. Over time, she begins to be interested in him not as a person who stands for the future of her tribe, not as a good companion, but as a person. Their priorities coincide – they create a new world based on harmony between Vikings and dragons. Teamwork gradually turns into a strong friendship, and at some point Astrid pays attention to what is happening between them. Something deeper than camaraderie, friendship, or superficial infatuation. She points out that her relationship with Hiccup has never been completely platonic, that there is a mutual attraction between them.
Also, I want you to understand that I have nothing against those who consider Eret and Astrid a great couple. I just want to say that there is nothing wrong with the fact that Hiccup and Astrid's attraction to each other did not arise at the snap of their fingers. Each couple develops individually, and most future lovers do not initially assume that they will be in love with each other.

My complicated thoughts on c!Wilbur's ending (I tried to make this short)
For me, there are things about Wilbur's ending I still don't vibe with because they'd need to be more expanded on to be effective
The whole last arc still feels like a big flop because in the end Wilbur just kinda got stomped all over until in the end he followed Phil's worst advice for the worst moment and went away with that idea of "If they don't forgive me I have to go", and Phil's erroneous message was just kinda never really defied by the narrative
I still wish he would've had a moment to yell at someone and be rightfully mad because holy shit he should've, a scene to parallel Ghostbur's rightful anger at phil during Doomsday that felt to be so easily set up with Wilbur being reminded a few times that Phil, Techno and Dream did doomsday and the crater wasn't from the 16th, and with him having to confront and be pretty disappointed in it just being "his grave" when he had no grave, lighting up at the idea that L'manburg was worth enough to rebuild after he was gone in his conversation with Tubbo on the 3rd of August 2021 stream
The book for Eret and half of what was said in it regarding Eret is still shit in the context of my own Judas being a thing, with Eret only chastising Wilbur for "not apologizing well enough" when Wilbur never did anything to Eret aside from rightfully not trusting them once Eret murdered everyone for their own selfish gain and continued to do shit to the L'manburgians after (which is all in lost VODs and this isn't Eret crit centric, so I won't go too far into this, but the towers to make them feel watched, something like covering the sun on their territory to make mobs spawn, etc). Eret never apologized for real, Eret admitted to wanting Wilbur to be a sort of puppet leader in a new country to essentially make Eret a dictator, as she later said that democracy wasn't good, the only reason why she told Wilbur not to jump off the bridge was because "think of all the resources I wasted trying to revive you", she made the empty gesture of throwing away the crown for like the third time while losing no real power or status, etc
And I don't like that in defending the ending so much in the most literal sense some people have just disregarded what in my opinion makes the ending more interesting, which is that the Utah desert can be seen as a metaphor for the afterlife, but an afterlife in which Wilbur went to his imagined desert instead of the limbo he thought he deserved to suffer in, because that possible interpretation was clearly done intentionally with the Eret book, the Ozimandias callback, the "I never did forgive myself", and we know that Wilbur wants us to analyze the ending as he himself said it
So I understand those who didn't like it, had some problems with it or were dissatisfied, because I myself could never be satisfied by it, because to have that I would need everyone else who isn't Wilbur to own up to their own shit and make it explicit that Wilbur isn't and wasn't at fault for everything
Have Eret actually say a real sorry for killing him and all L'manburgians and it to have weight for real, have Niki own up to the fact that she was never abandoned, but she did betray the L'manburgians multiple times, have Fundy and Wilbur have a talk about the Pogtopia buttons and Fundy disowning Wilbur as a father, have Phil own up to and suffer consequences for Doomsday, let Wilbur actually confront the reality of Doomsday with Phil there, have them talk about the 16th, have Wilbur come closer to an understanding with Ghostbur from that going further than just sending Friend to him, get some deeper understanding of Ghostbur as a part of himself, have Wilbur see that self-love isn't letting yourself be beaten down and stepped over for the comfort of those who wronged you, have him see and others confront that he isn't just a scapegoat and he isn't the source of all evil, have that mythical reddit post that put this all so clearly guide the steps to this
But I get that it all would hinge on all these characters with pretty bad writing in general getting their shit together and actually being written well for longer than just one stream, things should've started changing with them all from hitting on 16 onwards and that just wouldn't happen, so in the context of what cc!Wilbur could do by himself, it's pretty good, and the open ended-ness and little more metaphorical pieces such as the nice afterlife in the desert, the bandage being gone without us ever getting a proper explanation of it, Ghostbur getting Friend sent to him by Wilbur even if Wilbur will forever separate himself from the idea of Ghostbur makes it all feel like at least c!Wilbur himself is... Ok. He isn't doing incredibly good, he still doesn't forgive himself, but hell, he's ok, be it at peace in a literal place or the afterlife, in the end he went off with a smile, he made his decision and got at least Tommy to talk with him one last time on ok-ish terms, in the end at least he knows that Tommy cares, even if it would've been much better to have more
More people involved, more explained and shown, more time, but alas this is it

(Part 2 of incorrect quotes for my dsmp superpower AU ig)
Also forgot to mention last time, I got half the quotes on this post & ALL of the ones on the post you're currently reading from ScatterPatter's Incorrect Quotes Generator!
Welp yeah that's all, uhhhhhhh enjoy??
-
Punz: Where are you going?
Purpled: To get ice cream or commit a felony, I’ll decide on the way there.
-
Tommy: What the f*ck is wrong with you?!
Wilbur: Wow, you could start with a 'good morning'.
Tommy: Good morning. What the f*ck is wrong with you?!
-
Tommy: Must be hard not being able to laugh.
Techno: I do have a sense of humor you know.
Tommy: I've never heard you laugh before.
Techno: I've never heard you say anything funny.
-
Eret: Go to Hell.
Ant, tearing up: I wish I could.
-
(A younger Phil and teenage Techno talking)
Phil: Jail is no fun. I'll tell you that much.
Techno: Oh, you've been?
Phil: Once. In Monopoly.
-
Eret: God, give me patience.
Ant: I think you mean 'give me strength'.
Eret: If God gave me strength, you'd be dead.
-
Skeppy: You're the love of my life and my best friend, I would do anything for you.
Bad: I want you to eat three meals a day and have a decent sleep schedule.
Skeppy: Absolutely not.
-
Eret: Don’t worry, I have a few knives up my sleeve.
Tina: ?? I think you mean cards?
Foolish: No, she does not.
Eret, pulling out knives: I do not.
-
Purpled: Oh just so you know, it's very muggy outside.
Quackity:
Quackity: Purpled, I swear, if I step outside and all of our mugs are on the front gate entrance path...
Purpled: (Sips coffee from bowl)
-
Wilbur: Am I going too far?
Techno: No, no, no. You went too far about seven years ago. Now you're going to prison.
-
Tommy: You f*ckers don’t know about my knife stick. It’s a knife taped to a stick and it’s the ultimate weapon.
Techno, not looking up from his book: Spear.
Tommy: BLOCKED.
-
Wilbur: You're right.
Techno: That's... That's an unusual phrase for you. Did you just learn it?
-
Purpled: In light of what you did for me, you can hug me for four to five seconds.
Tommy: FORTY FIVE SECONDS?!?
Purpled: No! Four to five seconds!
Tommy: Too late!!!
-
Techno: If there's going to be a big dramatic scene, wait until I get back.
Phil: Of course. I can't flip this table by myself.
-
Dream: Someone will die.
Sapnap: Of fun!
-
Niki: How many kids do you have?
Phil: Biologically, emotionally, or legally?
-
Hannah: I'm 10 times funnier and sexier than you.
Sam: 10 times 0 is still 0 though.
Hannah: Joke's on you, I can't do math.
-
Ranboo: Do you take constructive criticism?
Purpled: I only take cash or credit.
-
Wilbur: So that's my plan.
Kristin: Are you alright with constructive criticism? I don't want to sound mean.
Wilbur: No, go ahead, I want to hear it.
Kristin: It f*cking sucks.
Wilbur: That's not constructive criticism.
-
Niki: I prevented a murder today.
Puffy: Really? How'd you do that?
Niki: self control.
-
Hannah: Look. I may not be a saint, but it's not like I've killed anybody. I'm not an arsonist. I've never found a wallet outside of an IHOP and thought about returning it but saw the owner lived out of state so just took the cash and dropped the wallet back on the ground.
Sam: Okay, that's really specific, and that makes me think that you definitely did do that.
-
Techno: We need a distraction.
Phil: Is anyone here good at jumping up and down and making weird noises?
Clingyduo, whispering: Our time has come.
-
Ranboo: What time is it?
Tommy: I don't know, pass me that saxophone and we’ll find out.
Tommy: (Plays sax loudly and extremely out of tune)
Jack: WHO THE F*CK IS PLAYING THE SAXOPHONE AT TWO IN THE MORNING?!
Ranboo:
Tommy: It’s 2 A.M.
-
Tubbo: What do you think Eryn and Aimsey will do for a distraction?
Ranboo: They'll probably, like, make a noise or throw a rock. That’s what I would do.
(Building explodes and several car alarms go off)
Ranboo: ... Or they could do that.
-
Hannah, trying to ask Tina out: Would you like to stay for dinner?
Connor, hanging upside down from the ceiling: WOULD YOU LIKE TO STAY FOREVER?
-

Chaotic DSMP headcanons
Jack hosted these massive barbecues in original L’Manberg
Wilbur and Techno (who are twins) have naturally pink hair. Wilbur is the one who dyes it, not Techno
Tommy is vegan
Puffy was so sick of being asked if he was related to Schlatt that they just started saying they were
There was a law in original L’Manberg that stealing wasn’t a crime. This was because Tommy did it so often that Wilbur had to make stealing legal so that he wouldn’t get thrown in jail
Niki is a scene kid.
Tommy used to read presidential paperwork stuff for Tubbo before he was exiled from New L’Manberg. Sometimes he read it wrong on purpose
The rest of the spineless syndicate is in awe of Niki and her ability to stand up for herself. They do not understand how she does that
Eret grows a foot every time a gay couple forms on the server
Ranboo’s other half is a skeleton but only Tubbo’s worked that out somehow
Quackity has a tree that literally grows emeralds but it’s useless because currency isn’t a thing on the server
Tubbo is ticklish
Niki paints her nails red sometimes and then gets jump scared thinking her fingers are bleeding
Tommy is in denial about being into cottagecore
In Pogtopia Wilbur put the hood of his cloak up once while he was like on the outskirts of Manberg and everyone thought he was Badboyhalo. The cloak is brown.
Fundy carries things in his mouth

right, here's who i think SHOULD win in each match-up, based again on Categorical Integrity(TM).
scar. schlatt does very much fit the bill as well, don't get me wrong, but he's too much of an actual villain to get the woobification/whump treatment in wider fandom that scar gets in droves.
difficult to say since idk much about the sparklez fanbase but i'm leaning towards techno on account of the anime designs + voices by derivakat.
i did not spend a month calling e!false "c!ranboo but a girlboss" to anyone who would listen for her to NOT be categorized as a sexyman
ren. oli's charms come from him being utterly swagless, and there is at least SOME element of Rule Of Cool to sexymanification.
etho. no question.
tricky bc i know less about e1, but i'm gonna tentatively say scott on account of the twinkification factor.
impulse is far too often given the genial-best-friend treatment for him to qualify. also have you SEEN people's mumbo art? mumbo takes this one, without a doubt.
pixlriffs himself was in terror over how sexy people were drawing him, he deserves this.
eret. sorry cleo. you could say that it was never m--
i struggle here because neither of them QUITE fit, but i'm tentatively leaning towards phil because he DOES have the colorzas going for him. phil gang start shipping the colorzas together for extra points.
NEITHER OF THESE TWO REALLY FIT EITHER. i think that bdubs fits a LITTLE bit more. people did do some really crazy shit with the kingmaker stuff.
unfortunately, it is in fact ranboo.
honestly? xisuma. yes he's regarded pretty universally as bitchless but he DOES also get thirst-trapped in ways joe does not.
i love you tango and you do fit in some ways with the dungeon master vibes and also that one artist who draws you like a total whore, but it's definitely wilbur far and away.
POINTS TO MY GRIAN PRESENTATION.
quackity 100% deserves this
this all being said. i WOULD be okay with jimmy winning because it's funny. and i am fully anticipating the cleo and joe sweeps. but for the love of god if scar, false, pix, grian, and quackity do not prevail, i WILL start throwing things.

I don’t like dteam at all either but from my understanding wasn’t the air horn just gnf? He’s the 26 y/o that always acts like a middle schooler.
it’s so funny to me that two years ago I hated gnf but couldn’t really explain why because everyone would tell me I was getting mad at his “autistic traits” whenever I would get annoyed at his whole loud = funny bit. To me he’s the most immature and boring streamer ever who only cares about money idk why he was even in that stream if he didn’t even care.
he has no empathy for anyone at all which I’ve been saying for years but every time I did I got called ableist even though IM AUTISTIC
will never understand why people like watching him besides the fact that people project their gay and autistic tendencies on him and he never apologizes for anything so they can pretend like he’s never done anything wrong
Im Autistic as well and honestly I’ve never seen him have any autistic traits too, plus loud = funny doesn’t seem like autistic humour (to me at least, I cannot stand loud noises)
Plus the no empathy thing is most likely from only allistic fans, I get that as an autistic person who is very empathetic I hate it when we are shown to have no empathy, but dude literally has done so much bullshit to other members on the dsmp (Eret is an example I think of, as well as bee duo with Micheal) when it was still around.
And i think it’s also because he looks physically attractive (short brown hair, brown eyes, pale skin, no glasses) in western societies anyways where most George/dteam fans are from. And more attractive you are, the more good of a person you are. This isn’t me bullshitting either, we are more likely to believe a physically attractive person then an ugly person.
I think it’s also because of the kind of culture that dteam fans have, where the dteam can do no wrong and are perfect little angels that can do anything.
Also I wasn’t sure who was doing the airhorns exactly, I’m really bad with loud noises and from what I’ve read people say it was George or George and dream. I was asleep and had things to do so I couldn’t watch any of the streams. Still it doesn’t really matter since it was incredibly disrespectful what he did.
Idk maybe I’m looking too far into this, I never interacted with the dteam side of the dsmp fandom except for when I first joined for like a week. It’s probably just George never realising that he’s no longer twelve and that his actions affect other people too.

Have you seen the reddit now talking about misogyny when they can conveniently blame it on george and his stans? Why is there now an outcry against misogyny because false’s stans made drama out of george punching her in a mini game when she explicitly said not to, but not an outcry when the community devalued jojo’s skill for months? when scott enables misogyny by continuously using women as nerfs? when people bullied nikki out of the event for being upset?
Really giving “I don’t care about people belittling and harassing women but I draw the line at george’s fans finding his mcc trolling funny”
it’s bc mcc fans don’t like the dteam .
there is something to be said about misogyny in mcc and ik this bc i wrote a whole essay on it but although a female player was at the other end of george’s trolling there’s nothing to say it’s an act of misogyny. bc as a george viewer we know he just trolls anyone . it was a matter of who was behind him, which happened to be false and at one point elaina, there was no micro aggression towards women that made geirge target then specifically . they were just the ones behind him . false recognises that George was just being a menace and that it would not have affected her placement either way so she asked people not to harass george it his viewers because number one why would she WANT her viewers to harass anyone but also she knows it’s ultimately not that big of a deal in the long run and that she’s a valuable player who can and will make up for any losses even though the result would have been the same either way .
i talked about this last week regarding sapnap but there is a trend of trying to make the worst of a situation . ie last week people were saying sapnap was abusive bc he was loud and competitive and eret ms stream didn’t exactly help matters . this might be a result of me talking about misogyny in the subreddit tbh . but the element of critical thinking has been taken away from it . when i asked ppl to think about misogyny i asked them to think about what they were saying and why . george was hitting false -> hes targeting female players or george was hitting false -> she was the unlucky person behind him .
people saw george display a trait they didn’t like - not taking the event seriously enough - and took a similar route as to how they treat sapnap in that they blow it up to be a way bigger event than it actually was . it’s simply because they don’t like the dteam and are trying to find evidence that fits their narrative of them as morally wrong . hence sapnap taking the event too seriously makes him an abuser and george taking the even not seriously enough makes him a raging misogynist when in fact if you look at the context of their streams it creates an entirely new situation . ie George just being a menace to whoever was behind him without a motive of targeting female players.
you can argue that female players have it hard enough in mcc and that’s why what George did was misogyny but i don’t think that holds up . female players already have it so hard so to label every instance of not so beneficial player interactions as musogynistic it’s taking away the attention from the actual misogyny that’s prevalent in the fanbase and sometimes in the event . bc if we say geirge trolling was misogyny we could also say that anyone who kills a woman in pvp games is targeting female players as weak . women who agree to be a sandkeeper instead of a runner are being belittled for their skill . women who are shit off platforms in rsr are being targeted . women who are tagged first in parkour tag are being targeted . game mechanics aren’t always fair and sometimes a woman is the unfortunate victim of griefing or pvp . not all of those instances will be a result of misogyny . otherwise the option to make sure nobody does anything negative to female players leaves them in a situation where they are essentially infantilised bc we are ‘protecting’ them from the mechanics of the game . is it annoying what george did ?? i’m sure it was for false and elaina during the game . is it worth the hullabaloo??? no . bc nobody care if it was soemone like ranboo doing it i guarantee

as much as i wanted c!wilbur to go the fuck off in this stream, i think a lot of people seem to be forgetting the current context - that this man is self-loathing, self-destructive, and actively suicidal. as much as wilbur deserves to get mad and deserves to demand justice, he doesn't believe either of those right now. he doesn't believe he has the right to ask, when in his mind eret was at least the one who got better! i LOVED the desperation eret had to figure out what went wrong - i got better, i moved on, i did it for you. why couldn't you do the same for the rest of us? i loved how they explored that! wilbur and eret's dynamic is infinitely more interesting than one of traitor and betrayed. it's one of mirroring - two traitors, side by side, unable to understand one another, desperate to do so, but hurt by one another all the same. cwilbur says it best - if not for the first explosion, they would have been very good friends. do i wish wilbur went off more? yeah! do i wish he spent longer being angry? also yeah!! but outside of that, this stream gave us EVERYTHING - future setup, a deep dive into their relationship, a clear understanding of their characters (like! seriously! eret sacrificing his number one symbol of power shows JUST how much he understands wilbur hoooooly shit!!!) and, well. it's been a long time since we've had lore this nice. i just wanna enjoy it and the effort put into it, yknow?

Character ask game Heather and Hiccup c:
ooooookey dokey letsa go
one aspect about them I love Hiccup: I love his empathy and his ability to understand people :) seriously no one else in history ever thought "Oh maybe we shouldn't kill the dragons" but he did and I love that for him. Heather: ok she is just plain cool!! Double-sided axe and a badass design she is one of the coolest-looking characters in the show (even though her hair looks weird but thats probably just a me thing)
one aspect i wish more people understood about them Hiccup: Bro is disabled. He does not have a leg. He also has like so much god damn trauma. Don't fuckin forget that. Heather: She wasn't a horrible character, infact she was genuinely interesting its just that pretty much all of the episodes about her were about her trauma. Other than that she was fun and interesting. ALSO IF SHE WANTS TO HOLD ONTO THAT SHIT SHE CAN!!!! she lost her birth family and then lost her adoptive family and spent like 3 years alone in the wild with a dragon as her only friend bestie did not get to work through her trauma she is allowed to be angsty.
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character Hiccup: No because he defo has so many goddamn tattoos tell me im wrong. Heather: gay
one character i love seeing them interact with Honestly i love seeing them interact with eachother like we adore a qpr
one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more Hiccup: I wanna see more of Hiccup and Atali honestly i feel like their dynamic was so unexplored. Heather: I know she never met him but i would kill for her and Eret to become friends.
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character Hiccup: him and gobber actually work together on toothless' tails :) afterall gobber is a blacksmith it makes sense they would work together. Heather: she and ruffnut made out atleast once is all im saying
yayyyyy i loved this :))) also for everyone else who sent an ask i will be getting to them soon its just that these take a weirdly long time to type out so i dont wanna do em all in one go
