i'm taking back the word love
You dont deserve to use it
physical and mental bruises
are all the proof i need
Your misuse of such a word
i've come to understand that it isn't me
it is You that doesn't know what love is.

I ask myself 'how can it be?'
that two lovers who know so much of one another
can disagree so entirely
on the most important thing:
the reason they refuse to love each other
For if I invited you to know
my body and soul
in ways that exposed my seams In which I trusted you loved with you despite your extremes
I’d thought if, then, I trusted you as such, you surely must be safe. Safe enough to touch, safe enough to trust
I knew then the horrors, the pain that you had caused, yet still I felt the shock yet still I felt the loss. I am not surprised by the lack of pain in your eyes; only in the lack of life I begin to feel in mine.

If hurting me does not hurt you, you don’t love me. You’re using me.
