Man, conservatives are still bitter about people they despise not wanting to be friends with them anymore.
This is actually a major issue for conservatives because the fact that nobody wants to be there friend undermines core parts of there ideology
Conservatives value the idea of being normal, being seen as not weird. The fact that nobody wants to hang out with them undermines that.
Conservatives really need to believe that most of the country secretly agrees with them except for a few degenerate freaks at colleges, the fact that most of the nation actively hates them undermines there belief that they are the "REAL FOLKS". This is why trump losing is such a blow to there self image, if they acknowledge it to be true, they have to reckon with the fact that society has moved on
Because Conservatism is a masculinity cult, the fact that nobody wants to fuck them deeply undermines there sense of self. like they say that if you are an emotionally stunted socially maladjusted asshole, girls will flock to you, and that just...isn't true in reality, despite what there political play memes claim. This is why so many conservatives are emotionally collapsing because they can't get dates on dating aps or in DC

"I wanted a romantic relationship so bad because I wanted to feel tenderness, softness, and care and thought that the only way I could do so would be through romance because that is all we are ever taught: we are born, we are kids, we date, we fall in love, we marry, we struggle under capitalism, we retire, we die hand in hand with whomever we married, and I guess have kids somewhere in there. A normative view of relationship making doesn’t leave us a lot of wiggle room to create different worlds."

Me at the beginning of graduate school: Why the fuck do all these readings use the word "normative" so much, how pretentious.
Me now: *uses the word "normative" in a paper* Ah fuck. They got me. Go, save yourselves, I am lost.

when i was a kid i wanted to be a famous youtuber like dan and phil so that people would gay ship me with my irl best friend and we would be sooo weirded out by it and laugh and make videos joking about it but secretly it would make her realize her repressed gay crush on me and i'd help her through her gay crisis and then we would have a sickeningly sweet sappy romance and read fanfiction about ourselves together... anyways just found out she's married to a guy in the mafia now so i probably don't have a chance

“you don’t like the proliferation of terms like Unalive outside of TikTok because you realize that you’re aging out of youth culture and it makes you uncomfortable!”
no I don’t like it because there’s something INCREDIBLY dystopian about being forced to soften terms for basic parts of the human experience like death and sex (and even more so terms for oppressed minorities- call me a “le-dollar sign-bian” and I will bite you) purely because advertisers and corporations demand it

It seems to me, as someone who has experienced quite enough of life and people to say:
Normal people seem much more accommodating of cruelty than they are of oddity or awkwardness.

Self-Portrait as Lilith
Elizabeth Acevedo
some days you seem so disappointed, love but you knew
what it was. i am your dread wife.
you will not throw me out of eden i walk myself to the door.
o! there is no snake i plant the tree.
i pluck the apple i bite. the pomegranate the passion fruit
whatever the fuck. i am feast unto myself.
in this wilderness the feral things name me.
& i was raised to one day wash my husband’s feet at night.
of course i molted made myself a woman who unmakes home.
refused to be whittled to a fine point but you like me piercing.
beloved i will not only writhe when coming.
my vow: break through this shell fully impossible. your vow: lap every slick of the yolk.

Women's Role Isn't The Issue
Neal Pollard Anecdotal and emotional appeals are made. Expressions of dissatisfaction with how things are “done in churches of Christ” and anxious concerns that we are in the minority seem to ignore something much more significant. What does the Bible say? A preacher recently wrote, “I wonder how many of our members are as dumbfounded as many of our ministers about our current practices with…

Does it like, annoy anyone else when a story presents itself as "feminist" and "progressive", but also punches down on women who are sex workers or sexually active.
