It bugs me how Larry's all "I use normal types because they're plain and boring like me" because buddy. Normal types don't screw around.
Norman's gym battle was terrifying for me, even though my strongest Pokémon was a Blaziken-- aka, I had a type advantage, but my entire team was nearly taken out. I still fear Ilima's Smeargle because that was one of the only battles I ever lost in S/M/US/UM (though I still fear Totem Lurantis more). I see so much trauma from Whitney's Miltank. And Larry himself has defeated my little siblings multiple times, while I definitely struggled against him.
Being a Normal Type Pokemon means access to generally well-rounded stats and incredibly diverse movesets. Like, a water type can learn water type moves, but Furret can learn Surf, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, and Shadow Ball. I wouldn't call that very plain or boring.
Not to mention that god is a normal type.
Normal Types and Normal Type users are plain frightening.

eevee maybe? There my favorite and I didn’t see an eevee post when i looked
Eevee Facts
-The genus name for Eevee is “Vulpes Altera” which roughly translates to “Other Fox”
-Their unstable DNA comes from inbreeding (as they are rare in the wild and didnt have many options), them having the DNA of a lot of Pokemon, being found practically all over the world and in many different environments, and later human intervention and gentic modification
-The Eevee line has relations to a lot of Pokemon, but are classified as Vulpines, making them more closely related to Pokemon like Ninetails, Zoroark, Delphox, and Thievul
-The sex difference between them has no benefit in the wild, and was bred so breeders could tell the difference for breeding purposes
-Same with a lot of smaller first-stage Pokemon, it’s advised not to breed them, as their reproductive organs are too small and could damage or really hurt them
-Research shows that Eeveelutions of each type once existed, but they all ended up dying out. Theories of what they look like vary between people
-Eevee are really social, and have been known to live with other pokemon. Despite this, some of their evolutions, like Umbreomn, prefer to be alone in the wild (despite evolving with friendship)
-Eevee, along with Pikachu, are commonly used as secondary starters in plenty of regions
-While most known in Kanto, Eevee actually originate from the Kalos region
-Because of their rarity, wild Eevee tend to live with other, more stronger Pokemon for protection
-Unlike their evolutions (except Leafeon), Eevee are completely herbivores, though eating meat won't harm them
-The chest fur on Eevee can vary between each one. Some Eevee's fur might be silky, while other ones might be rough
-Eevee are very vocal Pokemon, and will make a lot of whining, laughing, and howling noises for communication
-Partner Eevee is the second most popular Eevee breed in the world. This breed of Eevee is a lot more clingy to their trainers and more friendlier with a less-sharp appearance
-Eevee are highly influential Pokemon, and develop Likes and dislikes based on their surroundings. While almost all species do this, Eevee do this a lot more often and a lot more noticeably. An example could be some days, they might love Pecha berries, but on other days, they might hate them.
(Here are posts on other eeveelutions under cut)
