why u wrote it bingo for knowing me, knowing you

man i guess the idea of kiriona & nona having time to get to know each other outside of hectic time's-running-out contexts really got me. knowing me / knowing you was my personal study into a. nona in a modern setting, learning to live w the challenges that come with being a disabled adult (w the benefit of having a loving support system) & b. kiriona in a modern setting finally letting harrow go, in order to assert herself as an individual. plus i'd had the art gallery scene in my head for a long time
thank you for the ask :3

Character Intro: Anteros (Kingdom of Ichor)
*this character will appear later in the series
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nicknames- Mush by Aphrodite
Ant by Ares & the others in the pantheon
Mr. A by Eros
Rosy by Harmonia
Age- 16 (immortal)
Location- Cyprus, Olympius
Personality- He and his twin brother are two drastically opposite sides of the same coin. Anteros is a soft spoken, serious, & sensitive soul in addition to being intelligent. He's not really interested in the glitz and glamour of the pantheon.
He has the standard abilities of a god. As the god of requited love (& avenger of unrequited love), his powers and abilities include flight (due to his feathered butterfly shaped wings), summoning/communicating with swans & doves, limited amokinesis (can curse two people to temporarily fall in love), being exceptional at archery (on par with his brother and aunt & uncle), and invisibility.
Anteros lives with his mother & younger siblings at her mansion in the state of Cyprus. He also spends time in Thrace, Sparta, the New Olympus neighborhoods of Chant du Cygne & Queenstown, Shimmering Tail Island, and the royal palace on Mt. Olympus.
He (along with his fraternal twin brother) were the first set of twins to be born to Aphrodite (goddess of love & beauty) and Ares (god of war). Their "official" debut was a full spread in Modern Olympus magazine. The cover featured Anteros and Eros (at only a few days old) laying side by side on a mink blanket with their bare bums touching. Anteros and his brothers were some of the few in the pantheon to age the fastest!
His go-to drink is an almond amaretto smoothie. He also likes red wine, ginger ale, espresso con panna, earl grey tea, martinis, blue velvet cocktails, and aviation cocktails.
Ant loves his twin brother. Even when there are instances of arguments and moments when he thinks Eros is too immature & selfish or when Eros calls him a "tight-assed humorless prick", they ultimately care for each other. They often spend time together- whether it's shopping, surfing at the beach, going to the spa, going to the opera, going to the cinema, or practicing their archery. He also cares for his younger siblings. Anteros has been teaching his baby sisters how to read and he plays basketball & watches wrestling matches with the "demon duo."
His favorite colors are lavender, gray, brown, & powder blue.
Ant's relationship with his parents is interesting to say the least. He obviously cares for them, but views their "on again/off again" relationship as painful whiplash. He also can't help but feel overlooked by them. Even though they say that they don't have favorites, Anteros does pick up on how Aphrodite is with Eros and Harmonia versus how Ares is with Deimos, Adrestia, & Phobos. With his mom, he'll go shopping with her, check out an art gallery or two before going to the spa (he loves the steam room & full body sea salt scrub). They'll end the day with a bottle of red wine and eat pink macaroni (her favorite comfort food) while watching a sad movie marathon.
Some of his favorite desserts include the pain au chocolat, chocolate & caramel souffles, creme brulee, and galette de rois.
In the pantheon, Anteros is close with his cousins from his uncle Hephaestus (Eucleia, Euthenia, Eupheme, & Philophrosyne). He also views some of his mom's close friends as honorary aunts and uncles like The Graces, Ganymede, & Ditus. His nona (godmother) is the goddess Peitho. Anteros also really likes his aunts Hebe and Eileithyia (Ella). He often has tea & milano cookies with his grandmother Hera and he golfs with his grandfather Zeus. He also sometimes tends to the pet lions of his great-grandmother Rhea.
He describes his fashion style as "high fashion dark academia."He's a fan of tailored trousers, collared shirts, cozy knit sweaters or vests laid over button-downs, oversized coats & blazers, and chunky loafers & boots. Anteros also doesn't mind dressing casually in linen tees, skinny jeans, and chuck taylors.
He uses the Glory's Crown coconut milk & honey curling custard on his bouncy dark brown coils.
His favorite sandwich from The Bread Box is the croque monsieur.
To keep busy, Anteros sometimes models for his grandfather's fashion brand, Platinum Alchemy. He also writes for his magazine and was even featured in his mom's Look Book- a collection of photographs & stylized portraits.
As far as romantic relationships, Anteros is feeling conflicted about the feelings he has for one of The Hesperides, Erytheis (who's also good friends with his mom). After sharing a passionate kiss in a secret room of the royal palace during a Summer Solstice celebration, they both decided that starting up a relationship would probably not be the best idea. She stated that the kiss felt like a betrayal to his mom. Anteros still hasn't stopped having fantasies of running his fingers through her long ash blonde hair or picking up the fragrant scent of lilies & vanilla from her neck. He almost touched himself to one of the fantasies he was having about her, but stopped himself.
Aphrodite gifted him with a steel gray vintage 1960's Porsche sports car.
In his free time, he loves reading poetry (as well as writing his own). He also likes to write romantic & gothic love stories. Some of the themes explored in his poetry include toxic relationships, unrequited love, forbidden love, identity, mortality, and death. Anteros also enjoys horseback riding, surfing, yoga, basketball, chess, & transcribing music. He's become quite skilled at playing the piano.
Some of his favorite meals include the coq au vin, ratatouille, moules-frites, and cuisses de grenouille.
"Even though we never said it to each other, we knew."

"Simone Bianchi.
Viva i Musei! #notizie #news #breakingnews #cronaca #politica #eventi #sport #moda Read the full article

“Untitled” (2001) via WNYC, which depicts the artist in the middle of an art gallery heist
_
Although Maurizio Cattelan made headlines in recent years with his conceptual art, I realized today I had not seen his past body of work that would have led art galleries to allow him pursue such a controversial series of duct-taped bananas.
I am rather struck by
Him (2001) — One of the most iconic art installations I have ever beheld in my life was when it was at the Walker Art Center. The artist had taken over an entire wing; we, the viewers, needed to navigate a modest hallway with several twists and turns. Everyone paced silently. We see this figure from the back at first, making the great reveal all the more dramatic. It hit differently in the early 2000s than it would in 2023.
Not Afraid of Love (2000) — Surprised this wasn't made circa 2016
La Nona Ora (1999) — Always cheeky to bring idioms into reality
Untitled (1997) — Pile of dirt always reminds me of Walter de Maria's The New York Earth Room (1977), which I love for its reminder that real estate prices are arbitrary for it's all earth underneath. The same could be said for Cattelan's piece.
