Fingolfin during Dagor Bragollach also called the Battle of the Sudden Flame. A horrible event that ended the siedge of Angband and resulted in Noldor elves being slaughtered by Morgoth forces by the thousands.

Last seconds of Fingolfin.
I started painting it one day with no plan in mind and I still like how it turned out...

The key thing about Feanor's characterization is that he left. His father got remarried, which hurt him profoundly. And he left. In the silm it says that he married young and then he and his household traveled extensively. Finwe wanted him to be closer but he preferred to travel. Feanor avoided the thing that hurt him. That tells you a lot right off the bat. It took a valar stirring things up to drive him into a confrontation.
The other thing about feanor is that his objections to indis and her children have nothing to do with them as people. It does not matter what they are like. It seems like Nolofinwe took his avoidance personally, but it wasn't personal. It was about Miriel, and it was about Finwe, and it was about Feanor, and it was kind of about the Valar, too. But who indis was, who Nolofinwe was, these things did not enter into it. There was nothing Nolofinwe could ever have done or said to make feanor accept him as a brother, because the rift had nothing to do with Nolofinwe.

“Condemned and betrayed
Now everything's said
See my eyes (are) full of tears
And a cruel price we've paid
But still I can't claim
That I'm innocent”
