obi-wan and anakin are what wei wuxian and jiang chang would be if their situations were reversed

because anakin and jiang cheng are both short tempered people who are crazy protective over people they love. they are the younger brother who loves his older brother so much, but grows to resent and later hate him.

then there are obi-wan and wei wuxian. both love their siblings, both break the rules(anyone who says obi-wan follows the rules is w r o n g. bitch was so annoying noone except the no1 rule breaker agreed to teach him. grow up). both had their morals screwd up by a war and they can never hate their younger brothers even when they turn agains them.

the difference is, while obiwan stayed on the light side, wei wuxian was forced into the dark(because he loved his younger brother too much). When he was on this path people began manioulating the facts to dump everyrhing bad on him, making him the bad guy. He mamaged to hold on to his humanity and despite all of the terrible shit he was still himself, and a good person.

if jiang cheng found himself unjustly hated by the whole world, he would not react like wei wuxian. his anger would overwhelm him, and hed end up destroying and murdering in the name of his justice.

Sure Luka is extremely shippable cuz he’s cute with a tiny dash of edge for flavor and he’s chill and cool and sweet and nice and supportive and accommodating yadda yadda.. but beyond the peabrain self-insert’s dream boyfriend fantasy or the casual shippers aesthetic playtime, galaxybrained Lukashipping should take into account who would push Luka to grow beyond who he is and step outside his comfort zone. Who would seek out the faces he doesn’t show. and who would give him as much as he gives. If Luka is a person, then he has needs too.

I like fluff as much as the next guy but for me to really savor a ship it’s got to be mutually challenging. I don’t mean angst I just mean if one party’s too comfortable the other may be sacrificing something they shouldn’t be
