I'm sure you mean well but since I've gotten this exact Ask twice now back-to-back and it's not the firs time I've been solicited in DMs or Asks, I'm going to be clear:

DMing someone asking them to commission you is considered a social faux pax. As in it's rude or makes the recipient uncomfortable.

I also TAKE commissions, I never said I'm LOOKING for commissions, and frankly the response to that term and this Ask being copy-pasted to me twice now doesn't make me believe this isn't a bot.

Sorry if this embarrasses you or upsets you but it was entered into my Ask box so I have the right to respond.

Learn to market yourself better, don't solicit people in their DMs asking/begging for a commission for [insert reason here]. I try to be nice and polite and all that but I'm sick rn and seeing my inbox suddenly fill with requests to have me commission someone when I didn't ask for it is getting under my skin.

We used to get some churches and ‘just a moment of your time’ door to door people coming by Dad’s. I got really sick of it.

Now they walk up, read the sign, laugh, and leave.

“We do not want to join your church, be prayed for, hear ‘the word,’ taste your Spaghetti God’s Sauce of the Divine, buy your supertowels, or anything else that you’re trying to get us to buy either with money or our time and attention.

Autstic moment:

An exterminator came by today and knocked on the door. I am immediately on edge because stranger at door

I go outside they start their little spiel about how they service our neighbors and if I was interested in hiring that company to come by and

"...kill any ants, spiders, bugs..."

Immediately I say ugh why would you ever want to kill spiders they are so beneficial! They eat so many gnats and mosquitos

She retorts

"Well, some of them are poisonous.."

This is the point where I no longer the rest of the conversation but our ring camera recorded it and after observing it I can be fully quotes saying

"Ackchyually spiders are venomous and would hate to resort to biting a human, because they don't have stomach acid and rely on their venom to digest their food. If they were to waste it on biting a human it all but guarantee their death by starvation unless they had a fresh meal back in their web..."

They left quickly after this

I think what I love most about the idea of Jonathan clearly becoming Something Else is that it's so much scarier than a vampire. We know the rules and limitations of a vampire. Van Helsing can even provide a list. But Something Else? Let's be real, not even Jonathan knows.
