Pile 3, your inner child has a pixie-like energy that makes them super hyper and happy. However, they have a huge complex about success. They are surrounded by expectations that were put upon them long ago. Now you are the only one putting those expectations on them. They need some time to play. Space to do whatever they please with no pressure to perform or to do your absolute best with no mistakes. Allow mistakes to be made. Allow yourself to be human. You are so hard on yourself and think yourself in circles over the littlest mis-step. Mistakes a part of humanity and being alive. Your inner child is an earth angel that is allowed to learn messily. You will make yourself and others proud even if you take time to let them free.

Pile 2, your inner child is congratulating and celebrating with you! They have this soft, shy energy. They have asked something from you and you gave it to them! Fantastic job, friend. I think what you have been working on is loving your inner child more actively. You worked through some emotional issues recently and met your inner child where they needed you. It has made your life different but happier! Maybe you showed them a love they haven’t felt before or at least haven’t felt in a long time. I definitely see maybe you did something new with your hair that your inner child finds so fun and fulfilling. I also see you could have worked through the root of an ED and are working on your recovery! Your inner child is so grateful to you. You are learning to love each other and trust each other. Which I see you have worked very hard on. You have been doing your shadow work and healing. It is time to take a break and pour yourself your favorite drink. Appreciate yourself for all the work you have been doing.

Song: “always, i’ll care” by Jeremy Zucker
Hello, pile 3! Your inner child's energy is like a fire-cracker. They have a very spicy energy but it feels very tame. An outside force (probably a mother or another feminine role model) definitely shoved them in a box early on. Your spicy energy goes unappreciated by you because of how some of your inner child has been hidden away. Two things I think would be important for you to know about this. First, you are free of this third party who judged you. You don’t have them hanging over your shoulder anymore. You are free to let your inner child be themselves. Second thing, your inner child’s aggression is a very useful and protective tool. Let them get angry. Let them bark at people. Not allowing that energy out is less protective than relaxing and permitting them to protect you from people or things that you know hurt you. I know you’re scared to empower them. Their discomfort is worthy of being addressed. You don’t have to keep them away to remain safe anymore. You are 100% allowed to be a little brat sometimes and there is nothing wrong with that. Anger is part of the human experience and is important to keep some control over but not a total domination. Free the little one.

saw a bunch of libertarians citing the recent and from what i can tell very awful case of indi gregory, a small child with a rare mitochondrial illness taken off nhs life support whose parents were denied the right to transfer her to an italian hospital that agreed to see to her medical needs. which was ofc trotted out as an illustration of the evils of statist health care, death panels, etc
the obvious retort here ofc is that the main effect of privatising healthcare on cases like these is to multiply them, but what particularly interested me was the judge who issued that ruling, robert roger peel. turns out peel is currently the lead judge of the uk's financial remedies court (for determining financial disputes between divorced or separated couples), and has published an interesting couple of articles on his (very positive) assessment of the court. a lot of his focus is trained on time/cost minimising, settlement:trial ratio maximising measures for the court to implement or that the court has implemented, including (from the 2nd one)
the extensive use of "private fdr's," a sort of privatised dispute resolution in place of the court itself, in which an ex-couple hires a "private fdr judge" (could be a solicitor, barrister or retired judge) to rule on their case without recourse to the actual judicial system. ("So too the widespread use of Private FDRs. Judges need little persuasion to permit parties to attend a Private FDR and return to court thereafter for, as the case may be, a mention hearing to endorse the consent order, or a directions hearing to timetable to trial. The use of Private FDRs has in turn relieved pressure on the courts.")
the use of single lawyers simultaneously representing both members of the former couple, explicitly in order to undermine the costly adversarial nature of the legal proceedings. ("The Single Lawyer Model, for example, has attracted much interest. The aim is to enable parties to engage jointly one lawyer whose instructions are to gather the relevant facts and disclosure, and make a considered recommendation. The advantages are two-fold: (1) it ordinarily takes place at a very early stage of proceedings, or even before issue; and (2) the joint instruction of a single lawyer removes the parties from the adversarial world of separately instructed legal representation.")
the liberal awarding of costs orders, seemingly as a punitive and deterrent measure, to litigating parties the judge deems to be litigating unreasonably or insufficiently flexibly ("Similarly, I have repeated the mantra that judges should not be afraid to make costs orders where justified, particularly if one or other party does not litigate reasonably, and/or does not make reasonable open offers. [...] I appreciate that it is more difficult to do so when the assets are barely enough to meet needs, but even in those cases a judge is entitled to consider whether to make a costs award, however modest, to mark the court’s displeasure at the litigation conduct of the miscreant party.")
summary judgements in a majority of trial cases, without hearing of any oral testimony ("In an article I did last year for the Financial Remedies Journal, I said this: ‘It has sometimes seemed to me that many cases could be fairly disposed of with no oral evidence.’ My point was that as part of a drive for efficiency, cases could be swiftly dispatched without oral testimony where the factual and financial landscape is reasonably clear, and it would not be proportionate to explore relatively minor factual issues in the witness box. I suspect that will be the majority of cases")
in short, while this is definitely not an area where i have domain knowledge, my first impression is that the judge responsible directly for this decision is sort of a miserly ghoul happy to undermine the rights of individual brits in the service of shrinking and cost-cutting that portion of the govt over which he exercises authority. (to his credit he does at least declare the lack of public funding for legal representation to be "iniquitous", tho ofc that bit is out of his hands.) many such cases!

PLUTO IN 1ST HOUSE
It's really been angering me that whenever someone posts about this placement, all they say is "they're incredibly controlling" WITHOUT going into detail on what specifically this placement wants to control. And majority of the time, they're talking from their experience with like one person with this placement and just assumed that Pluto in their 1st house was what caused them to be controlling in the relationship. So ya, I'll be going into the SPECIFICS in this post
What is the 1st House? Physicality, others perception of you, your outlook on life, your appearance, early years of life
What is Pluto? Originality, creativity, passion, rash decisions, ambition, innovation, productivity, subconscious forces, transformation and renewal, destruction
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Control Over Perception: Those with this placement often want to control others' perceptions OF THEM. Often times how they go about this is they hide their true personality, in favor for a front personality in order to protect themselves. Of course, their front personality is NOT much different to their true personality, but they still exhibit traits to strangers that they never would to people close to them [ for example, to the general public they're seen as "shy, innocent, naive" but in reality, they're "outgoing, loud, and funny"]. People with this placement are often scared of judgement, and this fear isn't so baseless, in fact, they are often judged. This placement simply doesn't want to be perceived, lmao. If people with this placement feel judged, no matter how close they are to the person, they WILL withdraw, and that person will ONLY see their 'front' personality [for example, the person begins showing their "outgoing, loud, and funny" personality to a new friend, but it's like their new friend has already cemented that they are "shy, innocent, and naive". The person can't even curse without their new friend saying, "wow if never expected y/n would do that!!". The person begins to get exasperated with their new friend's endless judgement of them, so they only show them what they want to see now, their "innocent side"]. This placement views their true personality as a privilege to see. They're also able to use others' perceptions of them to their advantage too [for example, their family members think of them as a "shy, introverted, alone-time maniac" so after a few minutes at a party one of their aunts asks them if the party is boring. The person doesn't actually find the party boring, but they simply want to continue reading their book upstairs, so they agree with their aunt, and they're permitted to go upstairs without any consequences]. Lmao, I hope this made sense. Many believe Pluto in the 1st house simply want to control OTHERS but, no, if we get specific it's simply others perception OF THEM [1st house]. Unfortunately, because they feel as if they have two different personalities, people with this placement have a hard time differentiating between others' perceptions of them, and who they actually are. They get caught up in what others think of them, and often get offended easily when they hear other judgements of them, it's as if they can't help it. They often face rejection from others, especially at an early age, which contributes to their fear of perception.
Tumblr media
Early Years of Life: Faced very painful and transformational experiences in their early life. This placement often manifests as survival issues and life and death cycles in an individuals life. You may have been outcasted from school mates, abused at home, had a hard family life, moved a lot, power struggles etc. [try looking at your Chiron placement]. Whatever it was, it had a strong impact on who you are. However, because of it, you've developed a strong sense of pride from coming out of it. It gave you unrivaled personal strength and power.
Appearance: People with this placement can't even go five months without changing their aesthetic. They derive so much pleasure from changing their style/appearance up. They often face periods of physical transformation as well, so how their body looked a year ago is completely different to the now. People from the past who they reunite with may even find them unrecognizable. They have amazing style and a magnetic personality. Their aura is very intense and often they may scare people away with their eyes. People can't keep eye contact with y'all, and you know it. people see you as powerful, intense, and mysterious, however people may also fear you. People either are obsessed with you or hate, it's very extreme. That's why people with this placement has a tendency to attract stalkers, so be careful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Outlook on Life: You're either good at hiding your fear's and obsessions or they eventually come out. People with this placement may either fear or embrace change, but either way, they're incredibly good at adapting, no matter the situation. People with this placement often have a hard time trusting others however, but they still don't have a problem talking about their trauma [because as i said before, they take true pride in it]. Their incredibly observant, and often watch people reactions to everything.
Tumblr media
I hope you liked this! I also have this placement and I truly hate the interpretations out there. It's as if people don't f*cking know house meanings or something. Lmao, I find his so hilarious but the scaring people with eye contact is so true, like I rarely ever find people who can hold eye contact with me TT. Anyways bye!

i'm a big fan of the Young Wizards series, thanks so much for writing them
i was just thinking about something recently
the line in the Wizard's Oath "I will change no object or creature unless its growth or life, or that of the system of which it is part, is threatened" - does that imply that it was unethical for humans to domesticate animals? i know that's a contentious ethical issue and even if a lot of people consider it morally wrong there's nothing we can do about it now, and it was probably done mostly by non wizards and humans lie all the time whereas wizards are not supposed to at least without a good reason
i just was thinking about that for some reason though
Very briefly: two things.
(a) The strictures that working wizards recognize as part of their practice and agree to obey are not binding on nonwizards—and in some cases not even straightforwardly applicable (as, for example, the average person in the street doesn't have the ability to turn you into a frog, so there'd be no point in enjoining them against it). Wizardly rules therefore cannot be used as a tool for judging the ethics of the species as a whole, either broadly or narrowly.
(b) That line in the Oath is a shorthand rendering of the Troptic Stipulation, q.v. As usual, there's a lot more nuance involved than can be crammed completely into so brief a phrase. But what it does mandate is carefully examining a system before making changes in its operation... and being certain about one's own agenda when doing so.
HTH.
ETA re the query from @pretentiouslimericks: “But that part of the Oath wouldn't prevent wizards from magically helping someone transition, right? Surely lack of access to gender-affirming treatment could count as a threat to one's life…”
Absolutely! This has come up for discussion before, and transition very clearly falls into the “permitted” category. See this post (which contains links to posts that get into other aspects of the discussion) and this one.
Repeating what I’ve said before: “…to everybody who reads my stuff and for whom transition (or the prospect of it) is an ongoing issue: …I see you.”
…Also, per the comment from @vitruvian23: nope, that reading’s too literal. (a) Because (cf. Carmela’s “conversation” with that wilted lettuce in Wizard’s Holiday, and Nita’s expressed concerns about food waste, ditto) it’s suggested in the text that there are levels on which at least the simpler organisms bred and raised to be food have come to an inherent accommodation with / acceptance of it that’s perceptible by wizards. And (b) if you’ve been paying any attention to my feed and you think I’d willingly create universes where cooking was wrong, then—with Tweety—all I can say is, “Dey don’t know me vewy well, do dey?” 😄
(…Interesting to note in passing that something related to the YW/Errantryverse approach seems also to turn up in Tales of the Five: The Levin-Gad:
Here in the darkness the wine remembered the sun, the harsh Darthene coast wind, the blinding light off the sea in the summer months. It burned like a brazier, like a whole hearthful of coals, a riot of mute and obstinate certainty that what had looked like death wasn’t, not really, once you’d been through it with your heart in the right place.
[shrug] Well, two universes with functional worldgating systems: no surprise, I guess, if things leak across the boundaries…) 😏

I’m just gonna leave this here bc this left me baffled.
(What does this mean for the timeline viv jfc)
Yeah that's not the same. That's a contextual retcon.
"I can't believe you slept in our bed with an imp! You wanted to go to a motel with him like a plebian?! You're a goddamn embarrassment! I'm not spending another moment looking at your pathetic, imp sucking face!"
Stella mentions nothing about a divorce, she only speaks about Stolas sleeping with someone else (which is weird because she and Stolas don't have a sex life according to the new episode). She makes no indication about a divorce. Stolas himself makes no indication of a divorce.
"You want to sleep with this imp too?!"
"No! of course not!"
What do you mean 'no of course not'? You and Stella haven't slept with each other in what I'd assume years. She doesn't know who Blitzo is; frankly, Stolas doesn't either. Weird choice of words if this character is supposed to have been gay this entire time. Unless there's an odd joke in here about being Blitzo-sexual ..... that's your childhood friend you haven't seen in years bud... I know you're drunk but.... I mean does this make Stolas demisexual?
Also I don't know how things work in hell, but you don't need the other party to agree to a divorce. Granted, it's a lot more work and legal stuff in court to deal with, but you can get a divorce by default through a judge if your partner won't agree to it.
Why would Stolas be so vocal about a divorce all of a sudden if Viv is also trying to claim he only stayed with Stella and kept his bad relationship with her a "secret" from Octavia to give her a "normal life"? Octavia walks in and Stolas doesn't even realize she's there and he's like "good morning, did you sleep well? : D " As though he and Stella haven't just been screaming all morning about what Viv now claims is a divorce. He's not even concerned about the ramifications of his divorce, where he could potentially lose custody over Octavia. He just goes about his day as though everything is "normal", as though nothing happened.
Octavia also wakes up to Stella and Stolas screaming, and immediately gets annoyed and blasts her music, indicating she is used to this occurring, meaning their relationship has been obviously bad to Octavia PRIOR to Stolas sleeping with Blitzo, when Stolas hasn't done anything to actually warrant any anger from Stella.
~
The Timeline is as follows, according to Viv:
-Blitzo sleeps with Stolas and steals his book.
-THE NEXT MORNING, Stolas wakes up, proclaims a divorce with Stella, and then Stella marches up to their house and has a fight with him.
-Stolas then proceeds to call Blitzo to be his bodyguard at Loo Loo Land.
We have several issues here. Loo Loo land is the SECOND time Blitzo and Stolas ever meet after their 20+ years apart. So
A, Why did they act so friendly with each other in Loo Loo Land as though they had been screwing for weeks when they've allegedly only had a one-night stand? B, how on Earth did Stolas know Blitzo's phone number? Blitzo never told him where he worked, and Stolas did no research prior. Blitzo also seems to have Stolas's phone number, since he knows immediately who called him even in episode one prior to their "fucking" deal; which makes no sense. Why did Blitzo have Stolas's phone number prior to him stealing the book? (This indicates they had been fucking for some time before Blitzo had stolen the book, especially since Stolas says "I've been meaning to follow up on our last conversation regarding my Grimoire-, I've been permitting you to use it less than legally for some time now..." Stolas and Blitzo never had a prior conversation about his Grimoire unless they had been fucking several times prior to Blitzo stealing the book!) however, according to season 2, they haven't spoken to each other in 25 years. (which, again, is illogical!!!!) C, in the first episode, Stolas calls Blitzo while he's taking a bath to forge their exchange agreement. When in the hell did he have time between the minuscule timeframe of him waking up from the one-night stand to yelling with Stella, to inviting Octavia to Loo Loo Land with him? There IS no time. And Because of the episode release, Stolas makes that deal with Blitzo in episode one, meaning the one-night stand and Loo Loo Land happens AFTER episode one??? But that is simply not possible. Would Viv try to claim that episode two is actually a PREQUEL to episode one?! This is a mess!
This was definitely not planned from the beginning; it is a retcon & messy timeline that Viv is either embarrassed she forgot (or never properly established in the first place), or she just changed her mind about the story and is trying to cover it up.
It's not a huge deal I guess, but her defending this and trying to twist this around to being something it's not is a bit concerning. A lot of authors like to lie about "this was my plan all along!"
The truth is they either made a mistake or changed their mind. It's like JK Rowling saying "Hermione can be black because her skin color was never stated" when no, her skin color was clearly stated, she was a white girl. The reality of the situation is JK Rowling wrote a book about a bunch of white kids, and because fans were disappointed in the lack of diversity, they latched onto Hermione and race bent her for fun and to relate to her better.
Rowling saw what fans were doing, and to try and get diversity points, she made it so Hermione and Rose were black in the Cursed Child play. Diversity is great, inclusion is great, but lying about this being the case "all along" is not great. Just say "I saw the black community was attached to Hermione and I thought, why not? Harry Potter could use more POC." or simply "Black Hermione is great! The actors do such a great job with her character." Fans wouldn't have been frustrated with her if she had told the truth!
Obviously, this situation isn't the exact same, but it's just concerning when you start to see a writer lie instead of admitting they made a mistake or simply changed their mind and wanted to retcon something to better fit their narrative (and hey, if she wanted to do that, then fine! But at least be truthful and let fans know!); because they can start to spiral and lie about more things in the future, making their word untrustworthy. I've unfortunately had experience with people like this.
I've worked with writer liars before. They lie about far more than just writing, I'll tell ya that. Things can get real bad and real messy when you start not only lying to fans of a project, but to your fellow coworkers about things as well.
Viv has already had a lot of allegations against her, (some false, but some proven) so if she turns out to be a liar on top of that, it won't exactly be surprising. But it's really disappointing. She was supposed to be a mascot indie animation studio for future generations. But she's gone half corporate herself, plays favoritism, doesn't support indie voice actors that attracted everyone to her project to begin with; prefers famous EXPENSIVE broadway actors instead, and may not even work for Hazbin Hotel anymore. It's really sad. Indie animators are in way over their heads than I think they realize.

No More Mifepristone
Joyce Vance
On the Friday before Easter, just after the end of the workweek in Texas, a federal judge in Amarillo decided that Mifepristone, one of two key drugs used for medicated abortion, should be banned. This despite 20 years of data showing it’s safe and effective. Mifepristone has a lower rate of complications than Tylenol.
The judge also entered a stay, which means his order won’t go into effect for seven days. He did it to give the government an opportunity to appeal. But if neither the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, deeply conservative after a tranche of Trump appointments, nor the Supreme Court orders a lengthier extension, legal access to Mifepristone will come to an end. Not just in Texas, but nationwide.
The government didn’t need seven days. It filed its appeal to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals a few hours after the decision.
DOJ was prepared to file immediately because they understood the inevitable ruling in this case. Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, who the plaintiffs judge-shopped for by filing this case in the Amarillo division where virtually all cases are assigned to him, has a background of deep antagonism to letting pregnant people make their own decisions. Kacsmaryk’s legal ruling affects the entire country, not just Texas. A federal district judge in Washington State entered a ruling ordering the FDA to keep Mifepristone on the market, just moments after the Texas ruling. But Kacsmaryk entered a nationwide injunction that rescinds the FDA’s approval of Mifepristone nationwide—even in states where abortion is still legal and without exception for the mother’s health.
That’s not the legal landscape the Supreme Court said it was creating when it ended 50 years of abortion rights under Roe v. Wade in the Dobbs case. When the Court decided Dobbs, it said decisions about whether and under what circumstances abortion should be legal would be left up to each state. But now, Judge Kacsmaryk has made that decision for all of us—you and me, for our mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, and friends, regardless of medical necessity or our personal religious and moral beliefs. Judge Kacsmaryk knows best.
Challenged legal rulings are typically stayed to preserve the status quo while appeals work their way through the courts. But the post-Trump, uber-conservative Supreme Court has always had a different jurisprudence when it comes to abortion, permitting restrictive measures like Texas’s SB-8 vigilante-justice law to go into effect while the appeal was pending. Nothing says “result-oriented” like special rules for anti-abortion litigants (to say nothing of reversing the long-standing precedent of Roe that had worked well to balance rights and did not meet the Court’s test for when precedent should be reversed). It’s tempting to think the Court might decide the Mifepristone decision is a bridge too far, if not based on legal principles and the expectations it set when it decided Dobbs, then out of purely pragmatic political considerations some of Justice Clarence Thomas’s billionaire friends might want to see in order to avoid steep Republican losses at the polls following yet another anti-abortion decision. But it’s difficult to imagine this Court walking it back so close to its goal of extinguishing abortion rights. DOJ has strong arguments to make on appeal—compelling ones on threshold issues like whether the plaintiffs had standing to bring this case, as well as on the merits. Whether the Court will give them a fair hearing is an entirely different matter.
Soon we’ll find out if the Court meant it when it said abortion would be up to the states. Or if one judge in Texas can resurrect the long-disfavored Comstock Act and terminate people’s rights across America. The Act is an 1873 law that makes it illegal to advertise or mail anything, including information, related to preventing contraception or producing abortion (as well as outlawing sending “obscene, lewd or lascivious,” “immoral,” or “indecent” publications). The Comstock Act fell into disuse because of its effect on First Amendment rights—it involves prior restraint by the government on speech. The prohibition on materials and items related to contraception was removed after the Supreme Court’s 1965 decision in Griswold v. Connecticut, which held that Connecticut’s “mini-Comstock” law unconstitutionally invaded the privacy rights of married couples. Be concerned about where a resuscitation of this law could lead.
Restricting abortion today does not seem to be about good-faith conservative values and protecting the sanctity of life. It’s hard to believe that a party that denies access to basic medical care and education and that lets schoolkids die at the hands of mass shooters in the name of the Second Amendment is deeply committed to unborn children, unless it’s become somehow morally righteous to protect them only until they leave the womb. Ending abortion is a political rallying cry, used to bring voters to the polls and raise money, with a healthy side effect of owning uppity liberal women.
It’s really not that difficult: If you’re against abortion, don’t get one. We live in a pluralistic society and there are religions other than conservative Christianity, for instance Judaism, that command their followers to protect the life of a mother over that of an unborn fetus. Somehow their rights are now ignored, while a minority that has gained control of the Supreme Court dictates to the rest of us.
Interestingly, banning Mifepristone isn’t just part of the trend to make abortion less available; it’s also part of the trend to make it less safe and to endanger women’s lives. I spoke with Jesanna Cooper, a friend and a doctor in Birmingham, who is an experienced Ob-Gyn. She told me, “The take-home is that without mifepristone, more people will hemorrhage and/or get septic from incomplete expulsion of the products of conception.” Using Misoprostol, the other drug used in a medication abortion procedure, alone is “less effective,” she says. It involves the “same amount of pain but [is] more likely to be incomplete, which can be dangerous.” It doesn’t sound very pro-life.
More information about the two drugs, if you want to read some of the science, is here.
In 1996 then-Congresswoman Patricia Schroeder (D-CO) tried to convince the House to take the Comstock Act off the books. They didn’t. But her floor speech has resonance today. She explained that the Act was named for a man named Anthony Comstock, who “was one of these people who decided only he knew what was virtuous and right, and somehow he managed to convince all sorts of people that this was correct.” That sounds familiar.
She continued, “Anthony Comstock was a religious fanatic who spent his life in a personal crusade for moral purity—as defined, of course, by himself. This crusade resulted in the arrest and imprisonment of a multitude of Americans whose only crime was to exercise their constitutional right of free speech in ways that offended Anthony Comstock. Women seemed to particularly offend Anthony Comstock, most particularly women who believed in the right to plan their families through the use of contraceptives, or in the right of women to engage in discussions and debate about matters involving sexuality, including contraception and abortion.” We don’t need a new Anthony Comstock, and we don’t need Judge Kacsmaryk to dictate health care—or the absence of it—to people across the country.
You know what the solution is: go vote. Democrats will need sufficient majorities in both houses of Congress to restore protections for abortion. It’s not enough to win the House or the Senate; Democrats must take both to ensure access to abortion, and 2024 is not that far off.
We’re in this together,
Joyce

Jun: And here I'd thought that guy —
That Tojo was the only one different from those fucking lowlifes...

Jun: Somehow, I'm still not quiiite used to the concept of a stage name, see. It feels kinda awkward.
Kaname: Don't misunderstand, Sazanami.
Jun: Say that again?
Kaname: I just don't want you to make the same foolish mistake you did before. Don't ever barge your way into another Special Student classroom, understood? What a nuisance.
Jun: ...What're you going on about after pulling that shit on me?
Kaname: You wanted to talk to me, didn't you?
Go ahead, then. I'll hear you out.
Jun: Acting like you're all that as usual, huh?

Kaname: It's the truth, after all. The group that Tatsumi-senpai's leading has been monopolizing almost every single job opportunity that comes our way.
The idol industry's in a recession, so I think everyone's considering those who are more "able" to do their jobs consistently than those who aren't.
But the more jobs "Tatsumi Kazehaya" takes on as a group, the less work there is for everyone else.
Originally, the only idols who were given work were Special Students. Only we were the ones who were entitled to debuting and receiving jobs.
But Tatsumi-senpai chose to ignore such a fundamental fact and instead hogged every opportunity for his own "company", which employed more Non-Special Students than not.
As a result, the Special Students are seeing their jobs being stolen away by the very people they've always looked down on — it's so frustrating, it turns their discontent to hatred.
Humans naturally hate those who invade their space and take what is rightfully theirs.
Tumblr media
Jun: Seems more to me like they got what's been coming to 'em. It's like they're getting punished for how much they've looked down on Non-Specials and treated 'em like shit all this time.
Kaname: No one thinks of it like that. All the Special Students really believe they're living good, just lives.
They live brilliantly by trampling the Non-Special Students beneath them.
They're Special Students, after all. They far exceed their lower counterparts. They were judged as such by their grades during admission.
They don't have any issue with stepping on those below them, being of the elite.
There aren't many who feel guilty for the livestock slaughtered for their pork and beef. Some maybe, but they're in the minority.
But they don't see anything fundamentally wrong with eating meat. They've paid a fair price for it, so there's no issue.
It isn't a sin to eat meat, after all. In fact, it's our justly given right to.
And in line with that way of thinking, Special Students believe it their "natural right" to trample on the Non-Special Students they despise.
That's why, frustrating it may be, they mean no ill by it.
It comes as naturally to them as breathing.
Tumblr media
Kaname: Would you ever listen to someone who told you to stop breathing? What if they tried to force you to stop instead?
You'd tell them off, wouldn't you?
That's how the Special Students feel.
To them, Tatsumi-senpai and his band of Non-Special Students are foreigners invading their territory, taking what is "rightfully theirs".
Jun: ...Huh, you really have gotten smarter in the time we haven't talked, HiMERU.
Kaname: What do you mean by that? I've always been smart.
... Though it isn't something worth bragging about. I'm only parroting another's words.
Jun: Parroting whose words?
Tumblr media
Kaname: Someone I respect very much, who I look to as a guide.
Jun: And I'm asking just who that is... Is it Kazehaya-senpai?
I mean, it seems like you've been frequenting the Catacombs ever since the first time I showed you the way to 'em.
Though you've been a Special Student all along save for that brief time, I heard you listened to what he had to say with more dedication than anyone else.
That you were more passionate 'bout him for him than any Non-Special... to the point one could even call you a fanatic.
Kaname: I won't deny that, it's true.
However, don't lump me in with the rest of those "followers" of his.
I'm not some devotee of Tatsumi-senpai's simply because I visited him often, you know.
I was just doing as I was told so that I'd be able to accomplish my goals as fast as possible.
Jun: And like I keep asking, who's been telling you to do all that...?
Kaname: I can't tell you. It goes against our contract.
I have to follow his every word to the letter, or else I'll make another mistake and be punished for it again.
In fact, it was because of him that I was able to climb back to where I belong! I'm forever grateful for his help.
Jun: Who the hell is this guy even...?
Tumblr media
Kaname: Heehee. To me, he's alike to God.

Do you ever wonder if people who are born rich carry a guilt about their wealth?
Like obviously there will be those who clearly don't care, but maybe ones who have learned of the reality of their exceptional circumstances may feel something regarding it? Evidently I mean people who aren't like Succession characters but instead experience a feeling of gratitude similar to what we'd feel when learning someone is having a rough time, just to an extreme degree.
I mostly think about this with people who want to create, we have a certain appreciation for the nobility of an art/video/photographic piece that comes from an artist of more humble origins, or who has permitted their art to shine some of their deepest feelings, feelings that may not necessarily be experienced by someone living a life of significantly more comfort, in many ways that raw aspect is what gives that kind of art or expression that kick. (Although art will always remain subjective and beautiful thanks to its infinite possibilities, but yk what I mean)
Is the nature of that limiting to them? To some? Do people react differently to what they share and make? Especially online? Do they even care?
-
This thought comes from a video I was watching, where a man of evident wealth, produced a neat video of him driving his Porsche 992 GT3 through twisty but well built roads of Switzerland, the video is quite cinematic, with clean shots and even an introduction to the themes, it draws the viewer into the experience he went through, it's an amazing video, and the comments reflected positively, so he may not be a good example for my point, but it made me wonder...
Does someone who does the same but with a modified Miata and not the best camera equipment carry more novelty in the eyes of the people? Or does the difference in markets - as in audiences - separate the people enough for this to be a non issue? Can someone rich enough to own multiple Porsches not be ruled out in their talents by those who think they got everything spoon fed? Or is there a genuine and inherent reduction of their perceived skills because of this very thing?
I don't have particular resentment towards rich folks, but I have noticed a significant portion of people may hate them so much they could be glad one of them outright died... Which is never going to be something I share, even if the person wasn't like... Great, I don't think I'll ever celebrate someone's passing, but I do wonder how their history may influence for them to think that way.
As usual not judging just wondering, my favorite sport as some of you may know.

ppl who said Ryan was "too old" are about to be proved wrong by that box office $$$$$ he's about to rake in. he's hilarious and perfect for this role. and also gorgeous??? A TRUE BEAUTY KEN. "I saw a ken face down in the mud and texted Greta a pic with I must tell this man's tale" xD also there's never a person (until RECENTLY) saying the female actors aren't cast old enough (I'm not taking about Margo). The viral moment a little while ago was when Emmy Rossum was cast as Tom Holland's mom (and it's only because it's Tom hype it was noticed, I love him but still this has been happening since cinema has existed) she's only ten years older than him. That just happened in a Jessica Chastain movie like two years ago and no one said anything. My neices were watching a utube soap and I kid you not the "mom" was the SAME AGE. It's every movie; every show. I'm so happy Halle was cast as Ariel - appropriate age!!! I understand productions cast older teens/young adults rather than kids because then they can cut corners with union rights/demands like kids needing more breaks and parents on sets and like... basic human decency. also shows like R!verdale have teens sleeping together every weeek and sexy shots yada yada that actual teens WOULD NOT be permitted to do in filming (thank god they have intimacy coordinators now FINALLY). I forget who pointed it out, but you never see a news woman with grey hair. On a man it's distinguished on a woman it's ugly or she's a crone. I'll watch movies where they cast a 30 something woman and make her 50 by graying her hair. Like wtf? Anytime I'm watching a high school scene with a friend I say "none of those people are high schoolers". I'm an actor who's repeatedly told I AM LUCKY MY FACE LOOKS YOUNGER THAN I AM. This is going to last me about what 3 years? 2? I was just basically let go from a gig because FB feedback on photos were I looked "too old" for a character and it was because our boss was casting TEENAGERS illegally so yeah, of course I'm going to look about 80 years old (at 31) next to a 13 year old. She said "we're going to cast you as older roles" yeah we NEVER get requests for those. I wonder why. Okay, sorry for the rant... These reasons are why I'm so happy for Ryan. Prove the haters wrong and hopefully more light is shed on this too old/too young/ageism issue as a whole. Perfect moments and the movie hasn't even come out: THE JUST KEN SONG I DIDN'T KNOW WOULD HAPPEN JUST DROPPED?!
Tumblr media
He thought of the KEN underwear!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he's not afraid to poke fun at himself, wear pink a whole movie and funny outfits and dye his hair - so many "action movie" macho men actors would NEVER. this is the same guy from Blade Runner, Drive, The Gray Man (lol for their shoutout to his Ken)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the tassel shaking, "I'll need clicky pen", the changing scenery and outfits montage, rock paper scissors, crossing his fingers when he asks barbie if he can come over xD EVERY MOMENT IS PERFECT.
yeah, sadly ageism is always gonna be a thing with hollywood and especially for women.
i don’t care how old ryan is, he is PERFECT in this role and that’s just judging from the few clips and trailers released. i love seeing all the early reviews saying this will be the role he is remembered for and he steals every scene he’s in 👏👏👏 i’m so excited to see the movie, especially for ryan !!!

Have you already read Avatar: The High Ground, and if so, what do you think about it?
I finally got to read it just the other day actually! Though I’m probably gonna have to read it again because tbh I found it a little hard to follow at times; the art style makes it a little difficult to differentiate between some of the characters.
That said though, here’s some thoughts/observations from my initial read, under a read-more since it contains spoilers (not only for The High Ground but also potentially for the movie itself since it’ll discuss a few fan theories):
Lo’ak failed his first attempt at Iknimaya and wonders if it has to do with him being “too human”—he’s sensitive about this because while Neteyam and Tuktirey look pretty much like native Na’vi, Lo’ak looks more like an avatar, which a lot of the other Na’vi seem to lowkey judge him for (I doubt he’s outright bullied per se, at least not in the Omatikaya clan, but he does express that “everyone assumes my failure is because I’m too human”), which in turn makes Lo’ak very self-conscious and he’s a bit angsty about it. Based on what we’ve heard so far, it seems this perception as “outcast” will be a major part of Lo’ak’s arc in the movie.
Kiri has been raised by Jake and Neytiri since infancy, she loves them very much and does consider them to be her “real” parents; however, she is aware that she’s adopted. She doesn’t show a ton of curiosity about her biological parents in The High Ground, however, in a preview clip for WoW we do see her curiously watching some of Grace’s old video logs and addressing Grace’s inert avatar as “Ma”, which raises a lot of questions about her origins and how much she knows about them. Which brings us to the three main Kiri-origin theories.
We know for sure thanks to an interview with Cameron that Kiri was “born of Grace’s avatar”; however we’re not really sure what exactly this means. There are three main theories:
One is that Grace’s avatar happened to be pregnant when she died, and Kiri is simply her biological daughter, with a random clan member being her father. This one, while I guess technically not impossible, I find by far the least likely as it just seems out of character for Grace to have been gettin’ it on with a random clan member (plus the whole “mating for life” thing and the fact that unlike Jake she hadn’t been properly inducted into the Omatikaya clan and thus wouldn’t have been permitted to take a mate among them).
Also the fact that Kiri looks so similar to Grace makes me skeptical that their connection is as simple as biological mother/daughter. If you look at Jake and Neytiri compared to their biological kids, each one of them has a completely unique striping pattern. Kiri’s, however, is exactly identical to Grace’s. Plus the fact that they’re played by the same actress, which again seems too intentional to be merely a regular daughter. There’s gotta be something more going on here.
The second theory is that during the attempted consciousness transfer Grace’s avatar was somehow impregnated by Eywa immaculate conception style. This theory is intriguing in that it would certainly explain Kiri’s uniquely close connection to Eywa; however, the main issue with it is that we’re not sure if that’s something that’s within Eywa’s scope of abilities. I mean, it might be—we just don’t really know for sure at the moment.
The third theory is that Kiri was some sort of clone of Grace’s avatar that somehow received its own consciousness (possibly through Eywa shenanigans), or some sort of early recom prototype. This is the one I’m currently leaning toward most because we know for sure that it’s possible in this universe and would explain the identical stripes etc., though because of her special connection with Eywa which seems to be very important I’m not fully discounting the second theory either.
tl;dr Kiri is a huge mystery owo;
Moving on: Spider. Despite being initially marketed as “Jake and Neytiri’s adopted human son”, it seems that, unlike Kiri, Spider is not really formally adopted into the Sully family so much as simply being very close friends with the kids. He refers to Jake and Neytiri as “Mr. and Mrs. Sully”, not “Mom and Dad” like Kiri does. In the comic we learn that his biological mother, a solider named Paz Socorro, died during the final battle of the first film and his father is unknown, thus leaving him a war orphan. He is technically currently living with a human foster family in Hell’s Gate, though emotionally he connects more with the Na’vi than the humans. We also learned in a recent interview snippet with his actor that Spider was raised exclusively by humans until the age of four, hence why unlike the Sully kids he does not speak English with a Na’vi accent (though he is also fluent in Na’vi). He seems to be particularly close to Kiri in the comic, as well as to Lo’ak according to other sources.
Neytiri…doesn’t like Spider much. She doesn’t trust him due to prejudice against humans, and tends to blame him when the kids get into trouble (which Spider is rightfully bothered by). Jake, meanwhile, mostly feels bad for the kid and wants to cut him some slack/give him a chance.
also worth mentioning that the comic confirmed that Spider’s real name is Miles Socorro. Friendly reminder that “Miles” was also Quaritch’s first name. Make of this what you will…

cultural norms do not equal how scummy smth is. a person is raped in the USA every 68 seconds. this is, by your metric of judging things based off of how many men do it, not very scummy. 1 in 3 women are sexually assaulted in the USA. if a man does this to a woman, they are still a horrible person, which I have no doubt you’d agree with. age of consent is 16 in the USA, and lots of 16yr old girls want to date older men or think it’s a bragging right. it is still very creepy for those men to be interested in children like that though. laws aren’t everything. I know a 14yr old girl who got married to a 30yr old (with parental consent, this is legal in some states), nobody batted an eye, and he went on to become a dance teacher for other children. who he also preyed on. i think it’s pretty clear that just because something is normalized or even permitted in polite society, it is not something that is inherently acceptable.
please kindly stop making excuses about culture like this. It isn’t as revolutionary as you think. it actually is just rather offensive, because it makes it out like everybody in brazil supports this and supports being perverts toward 14yr olds when they absolutely do not. morals still exist. commonality isn’t an excuse. im glad you’re not supporting him and all, but i found that statement regarding age of consent to be rather saddening, and i hope that you realize how backward it comes across, and how insensitive it seems to the wider global issues of misogyny and violence against women, which is more than just an issue for any one country. thanks
Hey, Anon? What part of my previous statement was making an excuse for Forever? Did I not specifically state that what he did was morally wrong? Did I not state I was not supporting him? The point of my previous statement was to ask for cultural background so I know to what degree how scummy his past actions were, not to excuse any scumminess.
I would also point out that in no way did I paint the entirety of Brazil to be thinking this way, just that it is a view that some people may hold. Nor did I say such a view was in any way correct. And, I have also asked people in the notes of my previous post if they were in any way offended and those who replied have said no. If you have demonstratable proof that you are A) Brazilian and B) can say that the post has no value, educational or otherwise, then I will remove it or edit it to suite your tastes.
I thank you for the degree of politeness in this ask, but I would also ask that you please not attack me period; or at least not without telling me with quotes what exactly I need to fix.
(Did I also not specifically request no hate in my inbox? Please?)

Ever had a poem or song written about you: Yuuuppp and it was awkward as hell cause it was by a chick that I didn’t know/didn’t feel comfortable around. it wasn’t like overtly romantic or anything in nature but it was just...weird.
When was the last time you played air guitar: air guitar, air drums, air keyboard, I play the whole air band and I don't do it well! I dance and wiggle and can't stay still ever if im feeling a song
Who is your celebrity crush?: too many to name tbh. jason mamoa, henry cavill, zendaya?
What’s a sound you hate; sound you love?: I hate so many sounds, its not even funny. its super common for me to be over stimulated first by noise and then visually. currently, anything squeaky or shrieky really grinds my gears. Aya's grandma has a rocking armchair that is killing me the last month. When Rocky, my bro in law's cockatiel shrieks, it sounds like an alarm and it grates on me bad.
a sound I love is rain or water, thunder storms are hit or miss, some times they're soothing but other times, its too much for me. but the sound of running water is super soothing to me, probably cause its low and repetitive. also bass thumping
Do you believe in ghosts?: Ye, my mom's side of the family is very religious/superstitious so i grew up believing and knowing that you had to be respectful of all surroundings/spaces cause you're not the only occupant, living or dead. i'm not scared of ghosts but im terrified of death
How about aliens: yeah, we're not the only ones out there, but i dont believe all the little green men abduction stories. aliens have better shit to do.
Do you drive?: I have my learner's permit
if so have you ever crashed: i've been in multiple crashes, no serious injuries. but one of my childhood friends that i dearly loved died in a fatal crash and it made me terrified of cars right when i was learning to drive so that's why i dont have my license
What was the last book you read?: *opens kindle app* Uhhh just today? Flicker by M. Sinclair (book 2 in a series)
Do you like the smell of gasoline:  no nope nah nada.
What was the last movie you saw?: not by choice, some horror canada slasher that Aya's mema had on tv this morning. idk the name.
What’s the worst injury you’ve ever had?: as a kid, my knee was kicked out in a soccer match when i was in middle school, it made me tip backwards, skid ten feet on muddy field, slam my shoulder into the goal post and almost pass out. i still have joint issues in my knees and right shoulder.
as an adult, i was bit by an older dog at work. he clamped down twice on my right elbow, right on the joint/bone. i had to got to the ER, it was pretty gruesome and I still have some nerve issues in the area from it. was super lucky not to have a serious infection from it. i shouldn't have worked for a few weeks but i went back after a week cause the company i worked at was so toxic.
Do you have any obsessions right now?: at this very moment, making sure my younger dog doesn't chew his stitches out. i had to put my headphones on so i stopped fixating on him.
i've also been working on a few plot ideas for a book rn though. its hard to find time for that with work and everything though.

Generalizing Issue
Ever since Trump, or at some point after, there had been an increase in memes being created based on America or Americans regarding lifestyles or the societal way of thing. I'm from the US, myself, but that doesn't define me. For a while, I let the memes slide - go ahead, have your fun. But they had started getting old some time ago and now I've begun to find them both irritating and insensitive. I know we've been dealing with problems but we are not general shitheads. Not only are these memes disrespectful to a degree, they are are also making light of real issues and harming the people who care/are standing up the problems we face and are trying to fix them. Not just civilians but also political leaders. We are not a bunch of redneck, white supremacist, AR-15 worshipping thugs who think 'western civilization' is the shit (despite the US being one of the youngest countries in the world). At least half or more of us are good people who believe in care, Human equality and justice, to name a few things.
Since it matters, I'm a white American man, but I'm not racist. I hate guns. I believe in equality regardless of where you were born, what your faith is, the language you speak, whether you're straight or queer, I see Humans, and I see Humans being Human. I believe in free health care, the necessity of abortions. I believe in freedom and democracy. I believe in freedom of speech but I know the difference between that and being a prick, that 'freedom of speech' doesn't mean you're permitted to be an asshole. I find capitalism to be harmful. But more than that, I hate Trump, who did not and does not represent the American people any more than Putin represents the Russian people - A traitor who sold out his country to an adversarial figure in exchange for power, power that was actually a lie for he also sold what little of a soul he had left to a devil who wants us destroyed.
But apparently being a white American man also means being a prime example that you shouldn't judge an entire country's people. Because that's what any country consists of; People. No more generalizing. We must have an open mind and tell what actions have unfortunate consequences. In any group of people, especially a country, there will always be one person in it who thinks a little differently or believes in something a little different than others, or more so, whether it's something positive or negative. If you have time to focus on our troubles in America, instead take that time to focus on the people who stand against those who stand against what America is meant to be. These memes hurt more than they make people laugh. We don't silence our news reporters nor do we label believers in equality, rights and the like as 'enemies of the state' and have them disappear in the prison system. If you can't see why, then I pity you. If you have time to make memes that make fun of the harm that is happening and we try to face, you should instead make the time to support us. Just goes to show how many times there's depth to things that are looked at so shallowly.
I've seen too much good in life to give up.

I opened my heart to you. I let you read me. My hands were up, guns were down. I said I was happy to talk if anyone had hurt you. But instead you just turned around on me and yelled. I know you've been hurt, but that is no excuse for what you have permitted to be on your blog and what you have said. I am entirely willing to help you heal. But if you keep lashing out, no one will benefit. You call me a coward for being scared of you but you reblogged that horrid post. So I am perfectly in my right to be mother fucking terrified, and I am. Because I don't want any of my friends to be raped or murdered. So please, please, just talk to me, or somebody you trust, or someone with open DMs or anyone. I'm not going to judge you as long as you're open.
I did not yell or “lash out,” I responded to you frankly and openly as an adult, which I will continue to do now. Again, if this is too much to handle - getting an honest response from someone speaking openly and honestly - some time away from the computer may serve you well. You told me you’re a minor but if you approach me with wild claims that are intended to hurt or motivate me into doing something, I’m going to assume you’re ready to have a grown-up conversation. If not, the procedure to log off is very easy.
Your word vomit about your own identity was not “letting me read you,” it was an attempt to guilt me into feeling a certain way. You didn’t ask about my own thoughts or feelings, didn’t ask about why I may write or reblog the things I do, didn’t give a shit about anything related to me except your hope that I would be guilted into change through your presentation of self as a poor little meow meow.
You have no idea what my background is, nor what the “hurt” is that you’re so earnestly petitioning me to hash out with you. I do not find it appealing to engage in a discourse with someone who claimed to be “terrified” of me - if you can’t connect to my feelings or what I might say because you are too scared of them, what chance do we have of having an actual conversation that means anything? What else might my words and experiences trigger in you, since apparently all I am is terrifying? A heart attack? The vapors?
I didn’t say you were a coward, I said that you being scared of sharing a massive online platform with me was very silly. You could have continued to scroll on by and never approached me at all. It probably would have been better for you, considering all these histrionics.
I don’t give a shit about you judging me. I’m not going to rape or murder anyone, which is the dumbest thing I’ve had to state so far.
You are “entirely willing” to help me heal? Bullshit. You reference how scared you are of my ideas; I hardly think that as a minor who can’t debate issues without crying about being raped or murdered that you are in any way qualified to “heal” or even have further discussion with about my life. I have a professional who I pay who works with me, because that’s what healthy people do instead of Tumblr asks.

The October 11 vote by the Conway School Board came after a series of incendiary comments during the public comment period. One speaker, Cal Poulsen, said that LGBTQ people should be killed. "God gave them over to a depraved mind so that they do what they should not be doing," Paulsen said. "They invent ways of doing evil. But let me remind you that those who do such things deserve death."
None of the school board members publicly objected to such comments. Later in the meeting, they unanimously approved the bathroom restrictions and book bans.
...
Barnett said his original intention was to organize a group of people to address the Conway School Board during the public comment period. He said that there was "a plan of getting people to sign up for speakers." That ended up not being possible, however, because the school board decided not to allow the public to speak at the November meeting.
...
He helped organize a group of about 20 students from the University of Central Arkansas to come to the meeting to protest the anti-trans policies. When Barnett and his group arrived, there were no seats in the room available. They attempted to stand against the wall, but were told that wasn't permitted. Instead, they could listen to the proceedings from the lobby outside the meeting room. Barnett and his group complied. The Faulkner County Coalition for Social Justice also organized a group to protest the school board's anti-trans policies. They remained outside the building.
About 30 minutes into the meeting, Barnett and his group started chanting, "Trans lives matter!" A police officer in the lobby who told them to leave. Eventually, more police officers showed up and ended up pushing most of the group outside. Ultimately, three students remained: Barnett, Keylen Botley, and Colburn Clark. The trio sat on the floor and linked arms, continuing to chant.
All three were handcuffed and held in separate rooms while the school board meeting continued. They were eventually taken to the police station, processed, and released. They were charged with trespassing and failure to disburse.
According to the school board minutes, their actions interrupted the meeting for a total of 8 minutes, from 6:31 to 6:39 PM.
...
Barnett has no prior criminal record — not even a traffic violation. Barnett did not hear anything from the prosecutor assigned to his case until the day of his trial on April 26. According to Barnett, the prosecutor was not seeking jail time and offered to drop the trespassing charge if he pled guilty to failure to disperse. Barnett, however, decided not to take the deal because "if I were to plead guilty and take a plea deal, then that's admitting I did something wrong, and I am looking for the mercy of the court."
Barnett said that he "did not do anything wrong" and "the school board is committing a crime." Barnett was referring to the Conway School Board's policy to automatically delete all emails after 72 hours, effectively thwarting public records requests.
According to Barnett, during the trial, two police officers testified. Barnett said the officers' account of the incident was accurate, except that they said Barnett was "intimidating" the school board members and other people at the meeting. According to the police report, Barnett did not do anything while in the lobby other than sit on the ground and chant, "Trans lives matter!" Barnett called the claims of intimidation "an absolute fabrication."
...
District Judge Chris Carnahan, who presided over the bench trial, immediately issued his decision. He found Barnett guilty on both counts and said that Barnett attended the school board meeting specifically to intimidate school board members. Carnahan sentenced Barnett to 10 days in jail and a $650 fine.
Carnahan is the former executive director of the Arkansas Republican Party. During his unsuccessful run for the Arkansas Supreme Court, he used the slogan: "Finally, a conservative judge!" Carnahan collected tens of thousands of dollars from Republican Party committees, even though the races are non-partisan and such contributions violate the Arkansas Judicial Code of Conduct. Carnahan said he was ignoring the rule because he believed it was unconstitutional.

I think in DCMK the one that possessive are the boys rether than girls. Shinichi claim to Eisuke that he will not permit him to take Ran away, Heiji jerks to all guys that try to flirt Kazuha and Kaito bet on someone else (KID) just because Hakuba offer himeself to go to the concert with Aoko. Yeah they jelous and possesive.
I get where you're coming from. But.
The girls are 100% just as jealous as the guys.
The only real difference is that the guys are 'subtle' (okay not really but give me a sec) and direct about it. In the context of how their defensive feelings trigger, they'd probably view themselves as protective, because other guys are the ones initiating things and not the girls, and they go 'not on my watch' without really thinking about why they're defensive sometimes. -pointed looks at Heiji and Kaito-
The girls (mostly Kazuha tbf, Ran a bit less so) don't tend to notice that they're jealous, but clearly act on jealousy when they think the guys are hanging out with other girls. Kazuha especially acts super possessive of Heiji under the thought process of 'well, she's like his sister, so of course she's going to come and judge whoever he might potentially be dating', when we the audience know full well she just has a crush. Ran gets mad at Shinichi if she thinks he's secretly going out with another girl, which while we can assume most of it is jealousy and 'are you lying to me just to (in imaginations) sleep with someone'. Ran may be more betrayed than jealous, but Kazuha pretty much carries the 'jealous not-quite-girlfriend' trope often enough to cover anyone.
(And then there's Momiji, who was so convinced that her ship is the canon one that she doesn't even get jealous, she just assumes it won't work out. But props to her for shifting into a somewhat friendly love rival, even if her having that role along with her confident rich girl attitude causes other problems with her specific bahaviour.)
Granted, every relationship is written by a guy, and that guy may or may not have a pattern to how he decides to depict either sides of his (mentally) committed couples. There's variety in personalities, and a little variety in how their romances progress, but 'protective' seems to be baked in. Which inevitably will get labelled as 'possessive' when most couples weren't officially together.
(And I've had posts that touch on all of this before, but they're not coming up easily with search so. A summary that: Shinichi with Eisuke is the only time he's definitively spoken his stance over what Ran may have decided, and only because Eisuke wanted to ask him, specifically. We see with Araide that, while he might get jealous, Shinichi wouldn't stand in the way if it seemed like Ran were the one initiating things. He'd be sad, but he wasn't going to continue getting mad at Araide when Ran was the one who kept approaching him. Overall, more protective than possessive.
Heiji is possessive, though half of that time has been the most basic 'I don't know how I feel but I don't like seeing her with other guys, which frustrates me and I'm taking it out on the guy'. Boy has many issues, though his self esteem may make the problem worse now that he is aware of his feelings. Even before romance was involved, he's already bristled when he felt threatened. The need to prove himself is friendly with Shinichi, but with other guys, it just probably won't ever go well atm.
Kaito is just oblivious. We've only really had that one time with Hakuba to point to, so it's hard to pinpoint if it was him not wanting Hakuba to date Aoko, or just pure pride that led him to wanting to win the 'bet' on who goes to the concert. There's literally only one panel to suggest that he might not like the idea of Hakuba dating Aoko, and that was after Kaito himself suggested that they would be a good match. (In typical Kaito fashion of making fun of them both with regards to Kid frustrating them both.)) So it's. Hard to tell if Kaito would get upset at the idea of Aoko dating someone else or not. The only other time we get any indication of any of his feelings was when Aoko said she would ski with Fujie, and Kaito... seemed more confused than anything. He wasn't mad at either of them, more just generally grumpy for reasons he might not fully can admit to himself. Could go either way, not enough evidence to make any solid claims about all that.)
