I've been responding to some prompts and posts with little bits of writing and tbh sometimes I lose track of them in the chaos so here is a sort of 'masterlist' I guess of the different posts I've responded to. (make sure to give the OPs some love!!). List below

What Protects from the Shadows a response to tourettes dog of the fenton fam going to Gotham and thinking bats is a ghost. Danny decides to protect the bat. I made a fic on ao3.

Getting eggs at 2:52am Jason in civies comes across the meta? Bats has been annoyed about at a cornershop/bodega The kid is getting eggs and is spooky

Polite Overshadowing Jason gets overshadowed in a polite way by a fed up ghost king.

Beast boy smells Death beast boy follows a boy that smells like death (Danny) and who tries to shoot a thermos at him. What the kid says is only more confusing.

The Franken Core au a response to someone's prompt/au where the GIW messed with the core of a halfa and an eldritch horror was the result. And jazz runs away with EldritchThermos Danny.

Rude Interruptions a cult summons the ghost king when he was on a date. He is not amused.

Wrong ghost kid Sleep deprivations result in Danny supposedly scruffing Dani, who was threatening some ppl with a sword and calming him down. Except he def had the wrong kid.

Arkham Internship Jazz is the interning at Arkham and a unphased badass about it.

Danny's Arkham Vaca Danny portals into arkham and isn't allowed to leave, so he decides to take a break along with making some new changes in the asylum's structure

Ghostly Retribution Danny decides to employ some petty yet unsettling revenge against one Joker while in gotham.

Smash the plate Danny is so very confident that he is not Bruce Wayne's kid, but a dna test proves him wrong.

No biggie Danny is a chill af manner calms down a pit enraged red hood leaving confusion in his wake

Pop goes the lazarus creature Danny pops out of pools of extoplasm when too much damage happens. One time it happens to be a pool right in the middle of a ninja and bat fight. And apparently this pool of extoplasm is sentient and very angry.

Accidental Kidnapping bat kids take home someone they presumed to be Tim, no one realizes this until 3 days later

Uncle Connie  Jack was disowned or cut off his family that were in the ghost/spirit field and somehow is related to John Constantine. It’s a surprise to find out that your somehow nephew is the ghost king.

Roofhopping Fenton Fam moved to Gotham and Danny decides that roof hopping is the best thing to do with the stress of it, even if he’s doing his best to avoid certain bat and bird-themed vigilantes. 

Concussions and mistaken identities  P.2   P.3 Danny is dragged somewhere by Jack while concussed and ends up mistaking Bruce as his dad. Bruce mistakes him for tim.

Summoning an overwhelmed teenager danny is stressed to the max and being summoned to deal with a ghost problem he didn’t even know about is the last straw, cue crying. 

The Kid There is a kid that keeps fighting Joker like a rabid animal in Gotham. it’s always on sight. including in Arkham.

Clockwork's Chosen: Danny gives prophecies and answers questions he shouldn’t know the answer to. It’s a normal occurrence at Casper High, but after graduation, Gotham better prepare itself.

Feral clown senses activate Danny goes feral mode when a clown is near, even in the middle of a conversation. Sam and Tucker have a routine for when this happened, despite how everyone else is so so very confused (including vigilantes). 

Just a hole in the wall  Kon gets hit by a spell from Klarion and ends up punching an interdimensional hole to one ghost boi trynna sleep

Cadmus Clones Somehow Ellie and Danny were frozen for study by Cadmus and then found by the JL who think they are clones. 

Sleepy thermos kid Danny due to circumstances falls asleep in the worst/best times/locations. Including one point just on top of Red Hood after helping him out by wacking the enemies with his thermos. 

Skeleton Key Tired danny used the skeleton key and ended up at Wayne manor

Put a gun to my head Immortal Danny living in Gotham got caught up as a hostage and shot in front of the bat. but low and behold, he’s not just gonna let that pass

Reaper’s Dance Danny does an ancient ghosty dance to ease the lost/forgotten/dammed souls in Gotham after being taken by the Wayne’s after his family died

Powerpoint Intervention Danny was taken by the JL under the assumption of being a clone of Tim, and when he finds out it was because they thought he was a clone, he decides to hold an intervention consisting of a very long powerpoint presentation.

Star the Clown Danny actually ended up liking clowns when dealing with his feelings about the freakshow incident, so much that he absolutely hated the Joker who gave clowns a bad name. and what better way to make him pay then be a clown who interferes with his plans. 

You lied  P.2 Danny finds out the Waynes are the bat and feels betrayed because now it feels like a lie (or so he thinks)

What came after the King  Pariah Dark is still the Ghost King and can be summoned, but what is more concerning is the creature that follows. 

Ripped from the core  Danny was ripped from his core and in some small shadow eldritch form stuck in Gotham. Instead of trying his luck with the bats and birds, he decided to try it with a scaly guy underground. 

Hit da bricks  After years of captivity and essentially torture from the GIW Danny lets himself slip into a fake world to escape the pain, he wakes up in the body of R-13, a clone of the robins from Cadmus, and then makes his escape. Except it isn’t actually a dream but real.  (I made three parts so far in response to Omni’s initial response to the prompt. they named the au and actually have their own branch of the story that you should def checkout!!)

Danny created the Infinte Realms

Stolen core Vlad took away Danny's core leaving Danny half of who he is, feeling hollow. Certain ppl at thr wayne gala notice.

You dare to touch the stars? Danny has been captive of GIW but what makes him snap and finally break free is when they dare to bring in the Martian Manhunter.

Why the poster for "Dick Figures: The Movie" is so good

Okay, I've done enough Meguca-posting for the time being. It's time to analyse Dick Figures stuff again!

INTRODUCTION

As all of us probably know, the early 2010s web series "Dick Figures" had a movie that was released back in 2013 (almost ten years ago now, yeesh...) simply called "Dick Figures: The Movie".

I'm sure all of us already know by now, but for those who don't: Funded through Kickstarter, the movie focuses on Red and Blue as they go on a quest to find the Great Sword of Destiny so Blue will be able to get the perfect gift for Pink's birthday.

I've already done some posts related to the movie in the past, but I want to focus on one specific thing today: The poster.

Now, I honestly always really liked this poster: The layout, the vibe, the colours, the characters' expressions/poses, the shading, everything. It just fills me with some form of strange emotion that I can't describe.

That said, though... I've been thinking it through lately, so I decided to try and break this poster down to figure out just why it's so great - which is exactly want I want to talk about today!

CHARACTERS

When you look at the poster, the first thing you notice are the characters - and for good reason. Not only do they look at their best here, but each pose and expression fits their personalites just about perfectly!

Red has a cocky open smile while looking like he's about ready to fight, his pose itself showing he's basically a master at kung-fu.

Blue, on the other hand, looks more determined as he holds the Great Sword of Destiny, his pose seeming more calm.

Lord Tourettes is his usual, bubbly self with a bright smile on his face, kind of looks like he's leaping a bit.

Pink is looking up at Blue, showing that they're both boyfriend and girlfriend. She's also holding the sacred lotus from the end of the movie.

Stacy, similarly, is looking up at Red, showing that they're also boyfriend and girlfriend. However, she's holding alcohol (both in bottle and can form), showing that she and Red are also...y'know.

Broseph, of course, is just showing off and flexing his non-existent muscles. What more can I say?

Captain Crookygrin is doing a salute, showing that he's a pilot.

Mr. Dingleberry is just Mr. Dingleberry. Not much to say here.

In the background, the Takagami demon ninjas seem to be closing in, all of them having different poses.

At the very front of all of them, peeping up from the logo is the Raccoon. He's basically the one that helped initiate Red and Blue's quest, so it only makes sense for him to be where he is.

BACKGROUND

At the very back, we can see the map from the movie that Red and Blue use during their quest, which takes up the whole background.

Alongside that, there's also fire in the background, which basically fits the whole Dick Figures vibe perfectly - as well as being weirdly reminiscent of the poster for the South Park movie (which makes sense, since they're both animated movies aimed at adults. But that doesn't stop many younger people from enjoying them anyways, so...):

Finally, there's homages to the three locations Red and Blue end up in during their quest: The mountain (where they find the handle of the sword) represents Japan, the Eiffel Tower (where they find the blade of the sword) obviously represents France, and the ground itself seems to represent the mountain behind Red and Blue's hometown (where the gem of the sword is hidden).

Also, I noticed something pretty cool a few days back: On Red's side of the poster, there seems to be blue lighting - while on Blue's side of it, there's red lighting. I find that really neat!

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, this poster is raw as all heck. It's probably one of my all-time favourite movie posters, right up there with the posters for Madoka Magica Rebellion (which actually came out the same year this movie did, coincidentally enough) and Sonic 2 (I honestly really like all three main posters, but I had to choose only one):

Honestly, it's just absolutely insane how much detail went into this poster, especially since it's for a movie about literal stick figures of all things. Then again... Putting my last two analyses related to the movie in mind, I shouldn't really be surprised.

Even despite the fact most of the characters are just coloured stick figures (alongside the fact all of the backgrounds in the actual movie are just shades of grey), you can just tell the people working on the movie put a lot of effort into it: From the animation itself, to the backgrounds, to how the characters are fleshed out from the original web-series, to even the music. Both Ed Skudder and Zack Keller were absolutely determined on making something that the fans would adore, and it payed off big-time.

You know, I just had a thought: remember how those early 2000s MySpace scene kids would be like “ZOMG WOW SO rAnDoM LMAO!! ^_^ I LIKE CHEESE XDDDDD !! COOKIE! NINJA! CHAINSAW!” online? (If you’re old enough, you know.)

I genuinely wonder if the TikTok users who fake Tourette’s syndrome are doing more or less the same thing. However! Back in the day, the scene kids would often get called annoying for their “zomg so random lol!!” behavior. 

But if a TikTok user can turn around and say “I have Tourette’s syndrome!” then who’s going to call them annoying when they have this condition? 

I dealt with a couple of the early 2000s scene kids who claimed they had ADD/ADHD and that’s what made them so “random.” 

Do I think the TikTok users who are using neurological conditions for attention and clout are intentionally copying the scene kids? No, I don’t think they’re doing it intentionally or with any awareness. But there seems to be a pattern of behavior here.

I have no proof of this, but it sort of occurred to me.

Cole mimicks any repetitive beeping or ticking sound, such as: a microwave, emergency alerts, clocks, and so on and so forth

And he finds it hilarious so he never tries to supress those tics and annoys the Holy Spinjitsu out of everyone

I feel like the ninjas would def have some side effects if we’re being realistic.

I mean Kai would definitely have burns on his body, I feel like Cole has areas where his skin is cracked and dry. For Nya, I feel like she’s terrified to go underwater because of the amount of times she’s been suffocated by her own Powers.

Jay ultimately has ADHD or sporadic Tourette’s. He’s just always moving uncontrollably. Lloyd I feel like would have depression because of all of the stress he’s under everyday as the golden ninja.

And Zane would just blank out at times. He would just space out for minutes on end, and someone would have to snap him out of it. He wouldn’t even realize he was spacing out.

But yeah I feel like those are possible side effects of the ninjas powers

Hey, can i have a matchup with ninja+friends?

I’m 4’11 (no matter who you put me with, ANYONE will be tall to me). I’m non-binary and use they/them. I’m asexual, panromantic, and polyamorous.

I’m shy and quiet at first but I get to be really talkative and childish once I’m comfortable and I will literally throw everything away for my friends and family. I rarely ever get angry. I try to be friendly but I get anxious pretty easily. I’m pretty book-smart but I have a lot of pent-up dumbass energy and I have no self control so I end up in a lot of weird situations.

I love music, I play the bass, ukulele, and piano. I also sing and write songs. I really like to draw and my favourite game is The Sims 4 because it lets you be really creative and it’s like an escape from the real world. I really like animals, my favourite though is cats. I literally brought one home off the street (again, no self control). I have ADHD, anxiety, depression and Tourette’s.

Cole and Zane!

You all get along really well; first it was just you and Cole, but you added Zane to the polycule and now everything's so much better with the three of you together!

They notice when you become more talkative around them, and they actually like it! Cole will let you infodump to him, and Zane likes to indulge you.

Since none of you get angry really, your relationship is very calm, and there is hardly a fight. If there is, it's usually over something small, like what to eat for dinner.

Zane is the perfect person to help deal with anxiety, as he knows when you feel anxious by scanning you, then acts accordingly. If you're socially anxious, both he and Cole will gladly take up interactions for you. "Excuse me, they asked for no pickles."

Zane is also the impulse control of the group. "Cole, you can't have the entire cake, take one slice at a time." "(Y/N), you can't cook a chicken for 1 second by multiplying the degree at which you put it in the oven at."

This means you get into at most half of the amount of situations you get into without him around. It also means that you and Cole go apeshit when he's not there.

That's a lot of instruments; you could be your own band! Cole refuses to sing, but you can catch him playing drums with you! Zane can learn some keyboard, then you can all perform on stage, or privately for the other ninja, if it's too much.

Drawing is fun! Cole likes to draw with you, and when you play the sims, he likes to watch over your shoulder and give you inspiration. "Oh, you could add a greenhouse with beans and tomatoes!" Zane also likes to see your sim creations!

Cole also loves cats, but Zane doesn't like when they shed everywhere; he prefers birds and reptiles. So when you and Cole come back with an armful of stray kitties, he only lets you keep one at a time. "Also, pick up its fur at the end of the day, I suspect Kai is allergic..." Then you hear a sneeze from the next room over.

You end up having to build a little cat shed full of cat trees, toys, and even food storage and litter, and you go in there with Cole all the time to check up on your five kitties. He insisted on naming them after foods. You have Waffle, Raisin, Cookie, Peanut, and Cocoa.

Zane goes in there too, sometimes, but mostly when he wants to relax or spend time with the two of you. He ends up with two of them snuggled up in his lap and one perched on his shoulders, and you and Cole can't help but take pictures.

They don't find your ADHD or tourettes bothersome at all, and they're actually really patient and helpful through it. If you're infodumping, they don't interrupt you unless to ask a question. If you're hyper focused, they don't want to distract you from your task, and instead give you aid, like providing glasses of juice or water and snacks for you, reminding you to feed yourself. If executive dysfunction is getting in the way, they try to motivate you if it's something you need to do, like showering. Otherwise they'll take on the task themselves. "It's okay, let us handle it for you." Then they give you a kiss.

If you're ticcing vocally, like humming, Zane will actually hum along with you! Unless it makes you uncomfortable, then he'll stop. Sometimes the boys worry for you if you have physical tics that look like they could be painful, so you'd have to assure them you're okay.

You’re smaller than them by over a foot, but they think it’s cute. They love that you can fit perfectly into their laps when you are cold; they love that when they go to give you a hug, they can lift you in the air and spin you around, and they love that when you’re all snuggled up together in bed after a long and tiring day, you get to be the smallest spoon, and Zane can curl around you protectively while Cole holds you all together.

They're really supportive boyfriends, and you can believe that no matter what happens, they'll always have your back. They love you so much.

Tends to call people by their last names, only uses first names really if he’s mad at them or if they need comfort. It depends on tone.

When he was younger he wrote and illustrated his own children’s book for Nya because he was proud of his art and writing skills.

He’s actually working on a novel and illustrations for it

He draws the team a lot, for birthdays and holidays or for fun. Zane is his favorite to draw.

Always skips the theme song when watching shows

Cares about his hair to an extent. He’s very bipolar with his hair. One time he spent $200 on a hair cut and one time he went for a week and a half without washing his hair because he forgot is what I’m saying.

You’d think Cole would be the first person to grow facial hair because of his eyebrows and his amount of hair, but no no no, Kai was.

Has acne on his face, specifically around his nose and the edges of his face, but is unashamed of it! He knows he’s still beautiful with acne!

Has a magenta soul

Cole:

Likes painting rocks for fun. He writes things on them, paints flowers on them, paints swirls and such... he has a collection of them in his room

Definitely once drove his car into a lake because google maps or some other technology format told him to. This boy be bad at technology

Cole, unlike Kai, loves the theme songs and will fight for them

like Kai, Cole has acne on his forehead and is unashamed and doesn’t think it makes him any less beautiful!

Nya is the person who tells the brutal truth. If something is bad, she’ll say it. But she also gives the best compliments

She’s the best person to try stuff out on, because of the above. But, she also loves when people share their passions with her so so so so much!

Doesn’t believe in wasting cups so will turn the faucet on and then stick her face in the sink and drink like that

Grew into a gluten allergy and eats gluten free. It’s not really bad, but she strays from eating gluten. The team is super considerate of it

They all try teaching each other how to excel in their specialized areas! Oh and they share their talents! Everyone’s gotten at least one blanket from Lloyd and one portrait from Kai!

One time Nya wanted to practice her photography skills and told the boys to dress slightly nice for it (“don’t dress like garbage”) so they all wore suites and ties and dark sunglasses for it.

They have weekly meetings to discuss stuff. Each week is led by a different team member. They’re almost like leadership meetings and they always go over the week, training, and what each person’s goal for the week is.

They do highs and lows every dinner!

My friend suggested that I would do some headcanons of all the ninjas so im gonna start with Jay first!

They’re really good though
