Okay so here’s a supernatural theory that’s been scratching at my brain for awhile and now I’m putting it on here, the designated place for such things.

When Lucifer abandoned Nick’s vessel to possess Sam Nick was left as a lifeless body which Crowley found and enhanced to permanently hold Lucifer. But when Lucifer was killed while inhabiting Nick’s body in season 13-14 Nick is alive and well.

So in theory Lucifer must have wrapped Nick’s soul in his grace and taken it with him! From Nick’s vessel to Sam to the Cage and everywhere else until he ultimately ends back up in Nick’s body where his soul stays when he dies.

So there you go, from my Supernatural diseased brain to yours.

cas waited until jimmy was outside of his home to hop in — removed from the context of his life and his family, open to the world and the sky, individuated and ungrounded, even if only because of a few paces' distance between him and his front door. there is no effort here to make cas seem familiar or human, there's no performance, there's only removal from familiarity and humanity.

michael had his prospective vessels brought to a room that was unfamiliar to them. dolled up to look beautiful to impress them, furnished with their favorite foods to make it seem comfortable to them but ostentatiously different from any other setting they would ordinarily find themselves in. it's a performance designed to be appealing and impressive in human terms, but it comes across as kind of stilted, especially since it's always zachariah bringing the vessels in.

lucifer with nick though. nick's house. nick's bedroom. nick's bed. there's nothing formal about this, no pretenses. the reminders of nick's losses are rough, but otherwise the whole thing is designed for comfort and real intimacy. angel who wants to make a home of its body, angel who wants to be home to its vessel. it's just. like i get why people think it's creepy. but it's. it's sweet. idk

Who should have played Hallucifer?

I posted this poll a while back, but decided (at the urging of @supamerchant) that it could do with a remake.

Nothing against Mark Pellegrino, but I've never understood why Sam's Lucifer figment appeared as Nick. Sam only met Nick twice, both times briefly, on Earth. Nick was a nobody to Lucifer, just a temporary host in a suitably (and, it turns out in season 14, not coincidentally) vulnerable state. There's no obvious reason for Lucifer to have appeared as Nick in Hell, or for Sam's mind to re-create Nickifer after his wall breaks.

Ideally, I think that Hallucifer would've been played by Jared: Two halves made whole, M.F.E.O., your real family, and all that. But that wouldn't have made for a practical shooting schedule (and neither would having Hallucifer appear as anyone else in the regular cast), so I'll specify:

An 'angels are dragons' AU - sequel to 'Putting all dragon eggs in one basket'

Story summary:

After two years with the dragons and many, many hatchlings, Adam gets injured bearing another brood. This may make him unable to bear more eggs, and makes him anxious about his future with clan leader Mik'hal.

Around the same time, first one and then another long-lost brother of Mik'hal and Rap'hil appears. The pressing question is what to do with them, especially Luc'fel, who was once banished by their father for his transgressions against the clan.

Chapter summary/excerpt:

Gab'ril held out the slightly yellowed papers to him. “I found it again, when I looked for my hoard at the celebration. Back when I first found it, I was uncertain what to do with it, and, well, I simply dropped it next to my hoard, thinking that I would deal with it later...”

With trembling hands, Luc'fel took the papers. The handwriting was crude – and he blinked back tears even before he read the name at the end of the letter.

The blocky writing, like that of a child, was the work of Ab'bel. Luc'fel had taught him the dragons' way of writing back then, so that they could read and write poems together.

My dearest one, the letter started, and Luc'fel trembled so much that he almost ripped the pages apart.

Notes:

Since chapter 11 is an epilogue, I decided to publish it together with chapter 10.

There may be a sequel coming eventually, but for now it's a wrap.
