i don’t necessarily ship elriel but this is just a little headcanon

given elain’s ability to see into the future, it would be cool if azriel trained her to be a spy or used her power to help with az’s spy missions 

after all, a lot of spies were often the servants and common people that had no extensive training in spying, it’s about a network of information and not having it be directly led back to the main source. 

but this song genuinely gives those vibes. And how can be interpreted as shifting from one pair of eyes to two, representing them working together.

aka if Elain had a Fae animal form it would be a nightingale with the color of her golden brown hair

Edit: WAIT WAIT because I’m a huge throuple wins all ship wars kind of person, this can also relate to Lucien being ‘blinded’ and wishing he can see the truth (could connect back to Helion idk) but also also eluzriel is the best when they work together

I don't think I've ever seen anyone bring this up, but has anyone noticed how some of Maryden's bard songs are referencing pieces of music from elsewhere in the Dragon Age series?

Rise = Main Menu Theme from Dragon Age Origins

I Am The One = the end credits for Dragon Age Origins (which is also called I Am The One)

Maker = Dragon Age Inquisition theme

Empress Of Fire = Orlais theme

Nightingale's Eyes = the theme from Leliana's Song DLC for DAO (also Fire Dance by Inon Zur)

Samson's Tale = I don't think it's on any official soundtrack, but the same melody can be heard when traveling in the Hinterlands or Stormcoast

Oh, Grey Warden = Maybe I'm imagining it but it sounds kinda like the music that plays when the Warden arrives at Ostagar with Duncan

"Sera Was Herold", along with other songs sung by Khripounova, are occasionally performed by a non-player character named Maryden Herold whenever the Inquisitor enters the tavern in their base of operations. The herold is part of a collection of tavern songs and song sheets called Dragon Age Inquisition: The Bard Songs, which were made free to download from January 26 to February 9, 2015 by BioWare due to massive fan demand, after which they were offered available for sale on various herold platforms.
