You were nine the first time you laid eyes on Bob Floyd.
This time his family was new in town and he started three weeks into the fourth grade.
“Class, we have a new joiner.” Your teacher, Mrs. Pebbles, put her hands on Bob’s thin shoulders. “This is Robert Floyd, he’s just moved here from. Where are you from, sweetpea?”
Bob nudged the thick frames up his nose where they had slipped. “Mobile.”
“Alabama,” Mrs. Pebbles said. “OK honey, take a seat. Anywhere with a free desk.”
Even back then, Bob was nervous looking. Almost anxious for a child. He paused at the front of the class, worry creasing his tiny face, shoulders hunched under the weight of his blue Jansport backpack.
You looked up and smiled, eyes flicking to the empty desk to your left. Bob looked at you questioningly and you nodded. Finally, he started down the aisle, sliding into the empty seat near the window.
“I’m Haley,” you said softly as Mrs. Pebbles gathered a stack of papers at the front of the room and started handing out a sheet with math equations.
“Bob,” he whispered.
“Not Robert?”
“Not really.”
“OK,” you said, smiling. “You can eat lunch with me, if you want.”
“Really?”
You nodded. “I’ll meet you by the cafeteria doors after fourth period.”
Bob cocked his head to one side. Mrs. Pebbles was closing in on the two of you and class would resume soon. “Why are you being nice to me?”
“Everyone needs a friend,” you said quietly.
Later that day, Bob walked, hunched over, through the busy hallway toward the cafeteria. He didn’t expect much. He had moved before, he knew what it was like to be the new kid.
So when he looked up and saw you smiling at the cafeteria doors, his heart leapt in his chest.
He fell in love with you a little, then and there.
***
You learned that Bob had gone to school and then quickly enrolled in officer’s training and that he was something called a WSO. His family had never left Mount Pleasant. They still went to the Harris Teeter off of Long Grove Drive, and First Baptist by the waterfront.
Bob listened with rapt attention as you told him about your time in undergrad and then at Wharton. How you had graduated with a MBA and moved to New York, but felt unfulfilled, spending night after night at an investment banking office in FiDi until three in the morning. How the only thing that you had enjoyed was going home to your Tribeca studio and cooking in the early hours of the morning when the rest of the city slept. That after a year you quit your job and enrolled in culinary school, where you met Calvin, and that together the two of you had moved back to Charleston where you ran a bakery near King Street.
Before you realized, your plates had been cleared and your stomach was full but all you could remember were Bob’s piercing blue eyes as he watched you. You tossed your hands in the air, you had always been an animated talker, and he grinned. Suddenly you were fifteen again and somewhere deep in your stomach you felt a pang of guilt.
The waiter swept by and before you could reach out, Bob had slipped him a credit card.
“Hey,” you frowned. “Dinner was supposed to be on me, remember?”
“Absolutely not, darlin’,” he said and you felt an ache between your legs at how good the small glimpses of Bob’s accent were. “Been waiting a long time to take you out on a proper date.”
“I liked eating pralines by the water just as much as any expensive date.”
“I know you did,” Bob said softly. “That’s what I love about you.”
His words hovered in the air. Heavy. The waiter returned with the card folder and Bob busied himself signing the check. You watched his neat handwriting, the way his hand shook slightly as he put the pen down and smoothed the paper receipt.
Bob looked up. “Shall we?”
You nodded, standing up, Bob’s hand light against the small of your back as he guided you out of the restaurant into the dark street. Without thinking, you turned to him, slipping your hand into his. “I know I gave you a surprise, just showing up,” you whispered. “But I’m really glad I came.”
Bob smiled. “Me, too.”
“Doesn’t feel weird?” you asked.
He shook his head. “Somehow, no. I think a part of me always hoped one day you’d show up out of the blue and ask me to marry you.”
You laughed, head thrown back, and Bob grinned. His fingers were warm and solid in your hand. “I’d invite you over, but my hotel room isn’t very guest friendly.”
“I’m pretty tired, Peanut,” Bob admitted. “And we have a test flight in the morning. But what are you doing tomorrow?”
“I don’t know, what are we doing?”
Bob’s eyes lit up. “I’ll text you where to meet me. Wear closed toe shoes.”
You squinted. “What?”
“Just go with it, darlin’,” he whispered and you felt goosebumps line your skin. Somewhere between 2007 and now, Bob had gotten sexy. There was a gravely nature to his voice, a dominance that hadn’t been there when the two of you were kids. He had filled out and even though you had yet to see him naked you just knew that there was muscle where before it had only been skin and bones.
You leaned in and grazed your lips against his cheek, kissing him softly. “See you tomorrow, Bobby.”
***
You frowned at the GPS. This couldn’t be right. You were at the gates of Top Gun. Two men in full military gear stood with guns outside the imposing gates as you drove your rental car up.
“Can we help you, miss?” the shorter one asked.
“I uh, I’m meeting someone.”
“Name?”
“Haley Nichols.”
“Their name.”
“Oh, crap, sorry it’s Bob Floyd. Robert Floyd.”
“Lieutenant Floyd.” He flicked through a page on his tablet. “That’s approved.” He nodded to the man next to him who pressed a button, opening the gate. “Have a nice day.”
“Thanks.” You drove through the gate slowly, in awe. You had wondered what Bob would do as an adult. He had always been math and science oriented as a kid. You had thought maybe a chemist, a physicist, a professor.
Never had you expected him to go into the navy.
You pulled the car into a parking lot and stepped out, shielding your face from the late afternoon sun with one hand. Out of the corner of your eye you saw a figure emerge from a large white hangar, in a green outfit. As he drew nearer, you realized it was Bob.
“Hey!” he said, slowing down his jog as he met you. Without even thinking, you tossed your arms around his neck, drawing him into a hug. He pulled back, smiling. “You ready?”
“For what?” you asked.
Bob grinned. “Time to suit up, darlin’.”
“I, what?”
He grabbed your hand, tugging you toward the white building. You couldn’t help but admire how he looked in his flight suit, hair combed back neatly, glasses perfectly balanced on his button nose. His hand was warm in yours and you followed him willingly into the shade of the hangar, out from the blinding sun.
Looking around, you felt small. Jets towered above you. It felt illegal standing so close to them, practically brushing against the metal bellies that you knew were lethal weapons in the air.
Bob smiled down at you. “Well?”
“I can’t believe this is your job,” you whispered softly, in awe. “It’s just not what I predicted for you.”
Bob squeezed your hand before letting it fall. “Come on, have a surprise for you.”
“Floyd!” A few people from the bar entered the hangar, all wearing matching green flight suits. You recognized the tall one with the scars on his jaw. Chicken or something similar.
“Rooster,” Bob said. “You remember Haley.”
“The fiance.” Rooster smiled down at you. “I remember. Nice to see you again.”
“Nice to see y’all.”
“Is it take your girlfriend to work day?” The familiar blond with perfect features grinned from the back of the group.
“Haley here is going on her first flight today,” Bob said and you looked up, astonished. He smiled widely. “Surprised?”
“Terrified,” you replied and Bob smoothed his hand over your back.
“You’ll do fine.”
“Are you taking me up?”
He shook his head and your face fell. “Phoenix is. I trust her more than anyone.” He leaned in closer. “I wouldn’t trust you with anyone else. I promise.”
“You’re Floyd’s girl, wouldn’t dare to try anything.” Phoenix appeared on the fringe of the group with a smirk. “Although I will say you look a lot like my ex-girlfriend, so no guarantees.”
Bob flushed and you laughed.
Phoenix handed you a flight suit and a helmet. “Bathroom is over there. Suit up babe, we’re heading up in a few.”
The flight suit felt uncomfortable as you followed Phoenix out to the jet on the runway. Bob stopped as Phoenix started to do checks on the plane. “You can say no,” he whispered. “I didn’t want to force you into anything. I just thought it might be fun.”
You gulped down your anxiety. “Can I talk to you on the headset?”
He nodded. “I’ll be up there with Rooster so you can talk to me the whole time, OK?”
You nodded and Bob leaned in, pressing his lips to your cheek, his fingers inching low on your back. “See you on the ground, Peanut.”
The moment you were in the skies, your stomach was in your throat but as soon as you and Phoenix penetrated the clouds, it lifted. “On your left,” Phoenix said into the mic and you looked over, Bob and Bradley’s jet hovering in the space next to you. Bob waved enthusiastically and you waved back, beaming. “Ready to roll?” she asked.
“What?”
“Hold on,” Phoenix said, and the next second you were flattened, the jet slicing through the air at speeds you had never imagined before. It was like being on a rollercoaster but also on LSD. You let out a little yelp.
“Doing OK, honey?” Bob’s voice was sweet in your ear. You had almost forgotten he was there.
“I think so,” you gasped.
“Phoenix, slow down,” Bob demanded.
Phoenix laughed. “She’s fine, Floyd. You’re alright, aren’t you Hales?”
You looked around. It was a layer of fluffy white clouds. In the jet next to you, even behind the helmet you could tell that Bob was worried. You nodded. “I’m fine.”
“Are you sure?” Bob pressed.
“She’s a big girl, Floyd,” Phoenix said, pushing the jet faster. “Hold on, pumpkin.”
The two of you shuttled forward into the abyss. After a few moments, you watched Bob’s jet catch up on your left. And suddenly, it wasn’t so scary anymore. There was an exhilaration. It was like nothing you had ever experienced. “Holy shit,” you whispered, completely forgetting the mic was turned on.
Phoenix laughed. “See, she’s having fun.”
“Peanut?” Bob’s voice over the mic was crinkly.
You turned to your left and grinned. “Remember the third grade when Keith Atwater said he could beat me in a foot race?”
Bob chuckled. “You wiped the floor with him.”
“Think Phoenix and I can beat the two of you that bad now?”
“Oh shit.” Rooster’s voice came over the mic. “I think we’re being challenged, Floyd. What do you say?”
“Sure about that honey?”
“She suggested it,” Phoenix said. “Or are you scared of losing, Floyd?”
Bob’s voice was velvet over the mic. “Peanut?”
“Be prepared to get your ass handed to you.”
Rooster and Phoenix laughed in unison. “Count us down, Peanut,” Bob said. “Two minutes, on the clock.”
“Losers buys the winners beer.”
“Three, two, one.”
You felt your head snap back as Phoenix kicked the plane forward, the two of you piercing through the air. You could barely see or breathe or think, and you had no idea how they did anything other than just fly when they were in the air, let alone make rational decisions, defend allies, action plans.
It was over before you even knew it, Phoenix whooping in the seat in front of you as Bob and Rooster pulled up on your left, shaking their heads.
“See you boys down there,” Phoenix said, dipping the nose of the jet gently toward land.
“Nice job, Nix.” Bob’s voice floated through your headset. “Guess I owe you a drink, Peanut.”
You grinned as Phoenix guided the plane down back to the runway. Once the jet had stopped, she opened the hatch and unclipped herself, turning around, helmet under her arm. “Listen, Floyd is my back seater. That means he trusts me with his life, and I trust him with mine.” Her gaze was hard. “I want to like you, Haley. Just don’t hurt him.”
You stood up. “I won’t.”
She nodded, climbing out of the jet and holding out a hand. “I’m going to hold you to that.”
Bradley and Bob were down on the ground a moment later. You climbed out of the jet and down onto the ground, swiping your hair back from your face, waiting for the two to dismount. Bob climbed out first, bounding over and before you could even register the action in your mind you were reaching up, wrapping him in a hug. His arms came around your waist tightly, pulling you in closer. Once the two of you parted, you touched his sweaty face softly. “Best date ever.”
“Yeah?”
You nodded. Bradley approached from behind, clapping Bob on the back. “Think we owe these ladies some drinks.”
“One drink,” Bob said, leading you back to the hangar, “but that’s it.”
You pouted. “One drink? That wasn’t the deal. I thought it was an all night offer.”
Bob’s hand was heavy on your back as he leaned in. “One drink because I want you to myself the rest of the night.”
You looked up at him with a grin.
***
Bob’s house was small and charming. You had seen only the kitchen and foyer that first night that you showed up. He drove you back in your car, leaving his truck at the base. You took a shower, emerging from the bathroom to find that Bob had laid out a pair of boxers and one of his old sweatshirts for you to wear on the bed.
When you emerged from the bedroom, Bob was standing in the living room with his flight suit tied around his waist, black t-shirt clinging to his abdomen. He spotted you and hung up the phone. “Perfect, thanks.” Bob slid the phone into his pocket. “I ordered a pizza, hope that’s OK. Thought we might want to stay in and all I have in the fridge is some old cheese and a decaying apple.”
“Pizza sounds great.” You wanted to step closer, tear the shirt from Bob’s sweaty muscles where it clung to him, feel the hardness of his abdomen beneath your fingertips. You were surprised at the level of attraction you had to Bob. Even after all this time. Even after everything.
“I’m going to shower,” he said softly. “Be right out, I promise.”
You nodded and Bob disappeared down the hall. He was only gone a minute when your phone buzzed. You pulled it out of your bag on the ground and groaned.
Peterson wedding wants to cancel the mini cupcake order. That’s $800. What should I do?
“Fucking hell,” you muttered, dialing Calvin. He picked up immediately. “No.”
“Well I know it’s a no, but how do I say no?”
“You just say no,” you repeated, pacing around the small living room. “They signed a contract. So they can either have the cupcakes or not, either way they’re paying the price.”
Calvin sighed. “Alright, fine, I’ll call bridezilla.”
“Thank you.” You slumped down onto the sofa.
“How’s it going?” he asked. “How’s the fake boyfriend?”
“His name is Bob,” you corrected. “And he’s actually amazing.”
“Oh sweetie.” Calvin’s voice was dripping with pity. “Don’t go falling in love with him. Did you tell him about Grandma Lee and the clause?”
“No,” you snapped, eyes wide, but the shower was still running. “And he’s not going to find out.”
“Everything bites you in the ass sooner or later.”
“He’s a good person,” you said gently. “Nice. Kind. Handsome.”
“Handsome? What does Mr. Perfect do?”
“He’s a Navy pilot.”
“Shut the fuck up.”
You grinned. “You’d be in heaven. All of his friends are gorgeous.”
“If I didn’t have to make sixteen cakes tomorrow I’d be on the first flight to California.”
The water in the bathroom stopped. “Listen, Cal, I gotta run. Text me with any issues, OK?”
“You got it boss.” Calvin paused. Then, “And Haley?”
“Yeah?”
“It’s going to come out eventually,” he said. “So don’t get too attached.”
Bob walked out into the hallway, wet hair combed back neatly, wearing a pair of joggers and a t-shirt. You stood up, smiling. “Too late. I’ll talk to you later.” You ended the call.
“Everything OK?” Bob asked, crossing the room. He looked like he wanted to touch you, put a hand on your waist, slide his hand against yours. But he held back.
You nodded. “Yeah. You’re here, so everything is fine.”
Bob stepped closer. You could feel the heat radiating off of his body. It made your skin tingle with the sheer anticipation. “The last thing I expected was to open my door and find you,” he whispered, voice deep and sultry and it skimmed over your curves in waves. “And here you are, fifteen years later. Still the best thing that ever happened to me.”
“Oh, Bobby,” you sighed.
“I mean it, Peanut,” he said and you knew he did. Truth was laced into every single world falling out of his mouth. “Not a day goes by where I didn’t wish that things could have been different. That you could have stayed. That we had tried harder to make things work. That I had tracked you down sooner.”
“Things happen for a reason,” you murmured, closing the gap between the two of you, looping your arms around Bob’s neck, his blue eyes glued on yours.
“Maybe.”
“I think this is our second chance,” you said as Bob’s fingers reached out, ghosting over your waist.
“I can't waste a second chance,” Bob said, leaning down, free hand cupping the back of your neck as his lips landed on yours, consuming you in a kiss that you felt might never end.

Tumblr media
the cake was lackluster to the eyes at best —— a complete eyesore at worst. the decision to go against his original thought of getting one premade and paid to look good from the store was now one he woefully regretted ; something homemade was thought to have more charm , and it seemed like a good idea at the time [ ... ] before his lack of culinary skills were quickly remembered after having already left a sugary tornado in his wake. ( flour soaked into the black fabric of his outfit and batter splattered aimlessly around a kitchen kept otherwise pristine. ) much like the hair dye staining his bathroom walls , a mess seemed inevitable when left in his hands. but is it not the thought that counted? of course , he desired nothing more than to pass it off as no big deal.
minimal damage had been done on the drive over [ ... ] although a few bumps on the road or a container sliding across his passenger seat could hardly make a difference. it'd already appeared to have been made by a child with two left hands. he almost considered tossing it into the garbage altogether before he left —— scrapping the idea entirely and coming by with nothing to offer but his company. it even crossed his mind to toss it behind some bushes while he waited at the front door ; but it instead swung open before he got the nerve.
Tumblr media
❛❛ don't look too closely at it. ❜❜ the thankfully somewhat concealing plastic wouldn't completely spoil the monstrosity already stabbed and wounded with candles within , and he'll all but shove the container towards her as if desperate to rid himself of it. dramatic as ever. ❛❛ my little brothers wanted t'help decorate it , so that's why it looks like.... that. ❜❜ and while that was in fact the truth —— he couldn't help but throw the little brats under the bus entirely. but a small smile almost bashful would still form at the corners of lips. ❛❛ happy birthday , riles. ❜❜

Exposed (Cobra Kai story): Chapter 5
At Cobra Kai’s flagship dojo, a training session was underway.
Stingray walked into the dojo. His presence brought everyone to a halt.
“There he is. The man himself. An exemplar of everything Cobra Kai stands for. Loyalty. Discipline. Inner strength. After former Sensei Kreese's cowardly attack, most people would have crawled into a hole to hide. Not Stingray. He stood tall. Demanded justice. That's Cobra Kai. Let’s give him the welcome he deserves.” Terry told the Cobra Kai students.
The Cobra Kai students cheered for Stingray.
Terry looked at Tory. “Nichols, take over class. I need a word with my guy here.”
Tory stood in front of her fellow students.
Terry and Stingray walked into the office.
“How's the new place? Settling in?” Terry asked.
“Oh, yeah. Uh…Yes, Sensei. Thank you. Nobody ever rented me an apartment before. I feel like a kept woman.” Stingray said.
A kept woman was a woman who did not work but was instead given money and a place to live by the person she was having a sexual relationship with.
Terry chuckled. “Not at all. I want my loyal soldier living in style. It's the least I could do in light of your sacrifice.”
“Yeah.” Stingray said.
“And I tend to do more than the least. I’ve got a little surprise for you.” Terry said.
Stingray followed Terry to the parking lot and saw Johnny's 2009 Dodge Challenger.
“Oh, whoa. Heavy! Sensei Lawrence, my ex-sensei, used to have one just like it.” Stingray said.
“This was Sensei Lawrence's. My car guy found it at an impound auction. And now it's yours. Check the trunk.” Terry told Stingray.
Stingray opened the trunk and found his very own Cobra Kai gi.
Stingray chuckled. “Aw! That's...Dude, that's so cool.”
Johnny invited Miguel to join him and Sarah for lunch at Olive Garden.
Miguel arrived at Olive Garden. His eyes landed on Robby, who was sitting next to Sarah.
“Let me guess. Your dad invited you.” Miguel said.
“Yep.” Robby said.
“He didn't tell you I was coming?” Miguel asked.
“Nope.” Robby said.
Miguel and Robby tried to leave, but Johnny stopped them.
“Hey, hey. Where are you going? Sit down. Hear me out.”
Robby returned to his seat.
Miguel sat across from Robby.
Johnny sat next to Miguel.
“All right, yeah, I lied to get you here. After the water park, I knew you wouldn't come willingly. I know you're in bitchy moods 'cause you broke up with your girlfriends. Since the Mexico thing felt like a small step in the right direction, I figured it might help if we went on another trip.” Johnny said.
“A trip? To a mall in Chatsworth?” Robby deadpanned.
A waiter arrived.
“Your body might be at a mall, my friend, but your taste buds are about to go on a tour of the old country.” The waiter said.
The waiter gestured to Johnny. “This guy knows what I’m talking about.”
“Yes, I do.” Johnny said.
The waiter spoke enthusiastically. “It doesn't matter where we go. The birthplace of culinary delight awaits. You want an Alfredo? Boom! We're in Rome. Ravioli? Tuscany it is. We’ve got to come back here for the chocolate lasagna, 'cause like baseball and Big Gulps, that's only in America.”
Johnny smiled.
Miguel and Robby were unimpressed. Miguel shook his head, and Robby stared at the waiter.
“Tell you what…” The waiter paused. “I'm going to get you guys breadsticks fresh out of the oven. I'll come right back. Done and done.”
The waiter walked towards the kitchen.
"Come on, guys. Guy gives that kind of effort, you just sit there looking pissed?" Johnny asked.
"It's not his effort I'm pissed at," Miguel muttered.
“Breadsticks aren't going to fix this.” Robby said.
"Spoken like a man who has never had the Garden's breadsticks. One bite, and you'll forget why you were ever mad at each other in the first place." Johnny said.
"Yeah, I'm never going to forget that." Miguel said.
"Neither am I." Robby said.
Miguel and Robby left.
Johnny sighed and buried his head in his hands.
“Good try, Dad.” Sarah stood up and gave Johnny a pat on the back before returning to her seat.
Sarah was wearing a green long-sleeved shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and green high-top Converse sneakers with white laces. Her naturally straight blonde hair was down. She had on a light amount of black eyeliner, a light amount of black mascara, and soft brown eyeshadow. Her lip balm was a pretty peach colour.
The waiter walked up to Johnny and Sarah’s table. He was holding a basket of breadsticks.
"I'll give you a minute." The waiter said.
Johnny sighed. “Thanks.”
At his mansion, a haggard and unshaven Daniel drank bourbon while forlornly looking at a photo of his family.
Chozen approached Daniel.
“You slept late.” Chozen said.
“I went to bed late.” Daniel said.
“Daniel-san, family will return.” Chozen said.
“Sure about that?” Daniel asked.
“Hai. Family is most important thing to all of you. Strong bonds forged together.” Chozen said.
“Strong bonds, huh? And all it took was Terry Silver to break 'em.” Daniel said.
“That is why we must defeat him.” Chozen responded.
“Try selling that to Amanda. That son of a bitch knew exactly what he was doing. How could she not see through him? How does everyone not see through him?” Daniel asked.
Chozen began sorting through the mail. He came across a newspaper clipping about Kreese's conviction and Stingray’s testimony. The word “Liar” and an address were written on it. He passed it to Daniel.
“Where did this come from?” Daniel asked.
“With mail. No envelope. This is Cobra Kai sensei.” Chozen said.
“Was Cobra Kai sensei. Silver's partner before he was sent to prison for beating this guy half to death. Apparently, someone wants me to think there's more to the story.” Daniel said.
“We must speak with this man.” Chozen told Daniel.
“And then what? We get another furniture store burned down? For all we know, this is Silver sending us on a wild goose chase so he could screw up my life even worse.” Daniel said.
“Could be. Or could be answer to expose Silver and get family back. Best to see for ourselves.” Chozen responded.
At her house in Ohio, Joanne and Amanda were playing cribbage.
“Okay, Mom, more cribbage, less marriage counseling.” Amanda told Joanne.
“I'm just saying marriage became obsolete when we invented electricity and television.” Joanne said.
Someone knocked on the door.
Amanda got out of her seat.
Amanda turned to the staircase and yelled, “Sam, Anthony, let's go!”
Amanda looked at Joanne and asked, “You sure you don't want to come to dinner?”
“No. You and your cousin should catch up.” Joanne said.
Amanda walked towards the door. “Okey-dokey.”
Amanda opened the door and saw Jessica.
Jessica gasped.
Amanda squealed happily.
“Oh, Mandy!” Jessica yelled.
“Jessie!” Amanda yelled.
Jessica entered the house and hugged Amanda.
Sam and Anthony walked down the stairs.
“Oh, my God! Look at you two!” Jessica yelled.
Sam smiled. “Hey.”
Jessica approached Sam and Anthony. “Bring it in. Give me some sugar.”
Sam and Anthony hugged Jessica. She kissed their foreheads.
“Oh, wow! Okay, where is your old man? I’ve got ten pounds of mac and cheese for him.” Jessica said.
"Uh, Dad didn't come with us." Sam said.
"He has a lot going on, so..." Amanda trailed off.
"Oh, well, I'm sure it'll keep if Aunt Jo puts it in the freezer." Jessica said.
Jessica handed a container of macaroni and cheese to Joanne.
"I'll try to have them back before curfew." Jessica said.
"Oh, I've heard that one before." Joanne responded.
"Okay, come on, you guys. Let's go." Jessica told Amanda, Sam, and Anthony.
Jessica, Amanda, Sam, and Anthony left.
Johnny and Miguel entered Johnny, Sarah, and Robby’s apartment.
Sarah was sitting in an armchair and texting Eli and Demetri about what happened at Olive Garden.
Johnny spoke to Miguel. “Relax. I told you, Robby’s not home.”
Miguel looked around. Boxes of beer cans were taped to one of the walls and blocked off the hallway, acting like two doors. On the wall above the makeshift doors was a piece of cardboard with the word Jail written on it.
“Yeah, okay. What's…Uh…What’s all this?” Miguel asked.
"Ah, don't worry about it." Johnny walked down the hallway. When he reached Robby's room, he knocked on the door.
Robby walked out of his room, taking his headphones off.
Miguel looked annoyed. “You literally just said he wasn't here.”
Johnny shrugged. "Yeah, I lied again. Not my fault you fell for it twice."
Johnny walked to the kitchen counter and grabbed his laptop.
“You guys are right. Tricking you into lunch wasn't my best effort, so I did some interneting. Found strategies for building trust and teamwork through cooperative exercises. The least lame one is called an escape room. How it works...” Johnny trailed off.
“I know what an escape room is. I'm not doing it.” Robby said.
“That goes double for me.” Miguel said.
Miguel walked to the door. He tried to turn the handle, but he couldn’t.
“I reversed the doorknobs. It's locked from the inside.” Johnny said.
Miguel sighed.
Johnny held up a key. “And this is the only key."
Johnny put the key in the sink and turned on the garbage disposal. "Glued the windows shut too. No one's getting out unless you work together.”
"You do realize that you trapped me in here too, right?" Sarah asked Johnny. He ignored her.
“Now, as I was saying, the way it works is…You start with a theme, okay? Our theme is the Lincoln County War." Johnny said.
Johnny pressed a button on the radio. Rock music started playing.
“New Mexico territory, 1878. Lincoln County regulators José Chávez y Chávez and Josiah "Doc" Scurlock have been arrested to be hanged.” Johnny said.
Johnny looked at Miguel. “You're Chávez, obviously.”
“This is the plot of Young Guns 2.” Miguel said.
"Shit. You saw it?" Johnny asked.
"Yeah. With you and Sarah." Miguel said.
“Dad, you're missing the point. You could lock us in forever, and we're never going to be friends.” Robby said.
“Why are you suddenly pushing this so hard?” Miguel asked.
“Because me and your mom...” Johnny paused. “We're all sort of on our way to becoming a family.”
“A family? Me and him? Are you joking?” Miguel asked.
"Okay, maybe not the traditional kind." Johnny said.
"No, not any kind. You, him, and Sarah have your thing. Whatever. Keep forcing this, all you'll do is get his ass kicked." Robby responded.
Miguel turned to Robby. "Ready whenever you are, runner-up."
Robby glared at Miguel. "Name the time and place."
Rosa entered the apartment. She was dressed as a cowgirl.
Rosa spoke. "I am Billy the Kid, and I have a few riddles for you."
Miguel walked out of the apartment.
Robby walked to his room.
Sarah got out of her seat and walked to her room.
Rosa spoke to Johnny in Spanish. Her words translated to “I screwed up.”
“No, Rosa. I did. Again.” Johnny said.
Rosa walked towards the door.
“Don't close the door!” Johnny yelled.
Rosa closed the door.
“Shit,” Johnny muttered.
Daniel’s car was parked outside of Stingray’s apartment complex.
Daniel was looking at his unanswered texts to Amanda.
Chozen spoke to Daniel in Japanese. His words translated to "Heart is most essential quality."
“Amanda-san knows your heart.” Chozen said.
“I appreciate what you're trying to do, but really, I’m not in the mood for platitudes right now. I just want this all over with.” Daniel said.
Stingray parked Johnny’s old car outside of the complex.
“That's Johnny's old car. Kreese put this guy in a coma, and now he's driving around in a Cobra Kai billboard on wheels?” Daniel asked.
Daniel and Chozen followed Stingray to his apartment.
“Oh, shit,” Stingray muttered.
Stingray sighed.
“Can I help you?” Stingray asked.
“Raymond Porter? I'm Daniel LaRusso.” Daniel said.
I know who you are, Mr. LaRusso. Your muscle, on the other hand...” Stingray trailed off.
“We saw you drive up in a pretty unique set of wheels. Where did you get 'em?” Daniel asked.
“My car guy found that at an impound auction.” Stingray said.
“I'm sure you can see how that sounds a little strange after what Kreese did to you.” Daniel said.
“Kreese...No. Cobra Kai has completely changed since Sensei Silver took over. Now it’s about loyalty and discipline.” Stingray said.
“You have a trust fund, Raymond? Is that what's going on here?” Daniel asked.
“I mean...What? No. You are looking at a…Uh…100 percent American-made, blue-collar man.” Stingray said.
“Seeing how you're throwing money around. New apartment. New car. Ninja-level gaming station.” Daniel said.
“Oh, I wish. Ninja's setup is just beyond. And my finances are between me and TurboTax.” Stingray said.
“You know what I think? I think you lied about Kreese. Silver paid you to do it so he could have Cobra Kai to himself.” Daniel said.
Stingray scoffed. “That's...I don't know how you...You’ve got to really leap to...”
Daniel held up the newspaper clipping. “Why would someone leave this in my mailbox?”
“Uh, look, I...No. You know what? I don't know why someone left that in your mailbox, okay? A-All I know is that Sensei Silver is an honourable man. He felt terrible for what happened.” Stingray said.
Daniel put the newspaper clipping away.
“Sensei Silver came after my family. That's the kind of man he is.” Daniel said.
“Well, if that is true, then you must have done something to deserve it.” Stingray said.
“You're going to give me a God damn straight answer!” Daniel yelled.
Daniel advanced on Stingray, who fell backwards and crushed his PS4.
Stingray stood up and groaned. “Oh, no. My PlayStation.”
“Who gives a shit about your PlayStation?” Daniel snapped.
“Daniel-san, enough. You are not yourself.” Chozen escorted Daniel out of the apartment.
Daniel and Chozen walked towards Daniel’s car.
“He's obviously full of shit.” Daniel said.
“Hai. He's also no stingray. He is turtle. If pressed, he will retreat further into shell.” Chozen said.
“You're right. He's bought and paid for. This guy's never going help us.” Daniel said.
Chozen nodded in agreement. “Mmm.”
“But I know someone who can.” Daniel said.
After dinner, Jessica took Amanda, Sam, and Anthony to a bar. She told Sam and Anthony to play video games while she and Amanda caught up. They were interrupted by a group of women who went to the same high school as Amanda. The women taunted Amanda about the time she wrecked her math tutor's car with a baseball bat. Jessica dismissed the bullies before telling Amanda to explain what happened with Daniel.
Johnny was trying to unseal the window he glued shut for the escape room exercise. He heard someone knocking on the door.
“You have to open it from out there,” Johnny called out.
Daniel opened the door and walked through it. “Hey.”
“LaRusso?” Johnny asked.
Johnny looked Daniel up and down. "Oh, you look like shit."
"I need your help. I think Silver paid Stingray to lie about Kreese's attack. He's driving your old Cobra Kai mobile." Daniel said.
"What?" Johnny asked.
"He joined Cobra Kai back when it was still your dojo, right? You get him to flip, we might take Silver down for good. Time to get back in the game." Daniel told Johnny.
“Sorry. I'm dealing with family stuff. I washed my hands of Cobra Kai when we lost the tournament.” Johnny said.
"What? Y-You started the whole Cobra Kai thing. If you hadn't brought it back, then none of this would be happening. You opened Pandora's box, not me." Daniel said.
In Greek mythology, Pandora was the first human woman. Prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to the humans. Zeus wanted to punish the humans. Zeus got Hephaestus to make a woman out of clay. Zeus breathed life into her, and some of the other gods gave her their greatest gifts. Aphrodite gave her beauty and charm. Apollo taught her how to sing and play the lyre. Demeter taught her gardening. Poseidon gave her a pearl necklace and promised she would never drown. Athena gave her cleverness and curiosity. Athena also taught her weaving and other crafts. Hermes gave her deceitfulness. She was sent to Prometheus' brother, Epimetheus. Prometheus had warned Epimetheus not to accept any gifts from Zeus, but Epimetheus could not resist Pandora. He decided to marry Pandora. Zeus gave Pandora a box and told her not to open it. Pandora opened the box, unleashing pain, disease, sorrow, jealousy, greed, cunning, and malice. Zeus' vengeance was therefore fulfilled. However, he felt somewhat ashamed of his vengeance. Hope remained inside of the box so that the humans wouldn’t succumb to despair and would always believe in a better future. From this story came the idiom "to open Pandora's box," meaning to do or start something that would cause many unforeseen problems.
"Listen, I don't know who Pandora is or what's in her box, but I got Robby out of there, and Kreese is in jail. That’s a win as far as I'm concerned. It’s best to leave well enough alone." Johnny responded.
“What about the other kids? And since when do you ever leave well enough alone? What happened to the ‘strike first’ badass? Do I need to kick his ass to wake him up, or was just one tournament loss all it took to turn you into a pussy?” Daniel asked.
“What are you doing? You show up out of the blue, raving like a lunatic, you reek of booze, and now you want to fight me ‘cause I don't want to get pulled back into this rivalry? What's going on with you, man?” Johnny asked.
Daniel sighed and sat on the couch. "What the hell am I doing?"
Johnny walked to the fridge and grabbed two bottles of beer.
The words Coors Banquet were emblazoned on the bottles.
"If you think I'm off the rails..." Daniel trailed off.
Johnny walked over to Daniel and handed him one of the bottles.
Johnny sat in an armchair.
"Way off. Look at you. Your shirt's not even tucked in. Amanda let you leave the house like that?" Johnny asked.
“She wasn't there to stop me. I finally pushed her past her limit. She's at her mother's house in Ohio. She took the kids with her. I left her a bunch of bourbon-soaked messages last night, but she hasn't called me back yet.” Daniel said.
“We both know I'm not the guy you come to for advice on this stuff. Family has never been my strong suit, but it is yours. That always annoyed me. I'm sure you and Amanda have your hiccups, but you always get over 'em. There’s no reason to think you're not going to get through this, as long as you keep your head out of your ass.” Johnny said.
“That's...” Daniel paused. “A valid point.”
Daniel looked at the makeshift doors and the piece of cardboard with the word Jail written on it.
“Do I want to ask what's going on here, or...” Daniel trailed off.
“Robby moved in. He and Miguel are at each other's throats again. This was my dumb idea to get them to iron it out. It crashed and burned.” Johnny said.
Johnny chuckled. “So much for Goggle's advice on conflict resolution.”
Daniel was tempted to say “it’s Google, not Goggle”, but he didn’t.
“Hmm. I’m surprised you know how to ‘goggle,’ or the phrase ‘conflict resolution.’ Obviously, you care a lot about them both, so I have a pretty good feeling you're going to work it out, whether it be with the computer savvy, new Johnny approach or something a little more…Johnny Classic.” Daniel said.
“Johnny Classic, huh? I didn't think you were a fan of his.” Johnny said.
“Yeah, well, he's starting to grow on me. Tell anyone I said that, we really are going to fight again. And I'm not talking tournament rules. Maybe that's how we should have done it all those years ago. If we hadn't had to stop at three points, we might have gotten this out of our systems.” Daniel said.
“I might have. Three points were all you had in you.” Johnny said.
Daniel laughed. “There he is.”
Daniel walked towards the door. “All right. On that note, thanks for the banquet. And…Um, the perspective.”
“That's what I'm here for.” Johnny said.
“All right.” Daniel walked through the door.
At the bar in Ohio, Sam showed Anthony a video of him being kicked into the pool at Splasharama Water Adventure, which had gone viral. She asked him why he didn't come to her for help. He told her that he didn't want her to fight his battles. He said that he might have deserved it. He explained his conflict with Kenny. He told Sam that when he tried to apologize at the tournament, Kenny lashed out at him, and Robby intervened and prevented things from getting worse. Sam said that she didn’t know this. Amanda told Jessica what was going on with Daniel. Jessica choked on her beer when Amanda mentioned Terry. Jessica talked about Daniel’s history with Terry. Jessica told Amanda that she and Daniel were frequently terrorized by Terry’s hired henchmen. Amanda said that she hadn’t heard this story before. The bullies returned and teased Amanda with her old nickname, Babe Ruthless. Jessica told them off, and a fight broke out. The bullies ganged up on Amanda. Sam came to Amanda’s rescue, allowing her, Amanda, Anthony, and Jessica to escape.
At the LaRusso family’s mansion, Chozen was packing a bag.
“You almost packed?” Daniel asked.
“Daniel-san, we must not give up.” Chozen told Daniel.
“I understand how you feel. As much as I can't stomach the thought of letting Silver win, it's not worth losing my family over. Nothing is.” Daniel said.
Chozen frowned. “I have failed you.”
“No. The opposite. You have gone above and beyond. Any failures were mine alone. I'm only sorry I wasted your time.” Daniel said.
Chozen smiled. “Defending honour of Miyagi-Do never a waste of time, nor is helping friend.”
Daniel sighed. “I won't be able to sleep tonight unless I make amends with Raymond. I'm going to go take care of that while you finish packing. Then we'll head to the airport. Maybe I’ll start planning a LaRusso family trip to come visit you. Assuming I can make amends with them too.”
“I know you will, Daniel-san.” Chozen said.
At her, Johnny, and Robby’s apartment, Sarah was sitting in an armchair and drinking a glass of water. She heard an air horn. She set her glass aside and walked out of the apartment. Robby wasn’t far behind. Their eyes landed on Johnny and Miguel.
"What the hell is going on out here?" A man asked.
"Mind your business, dirtbag. Beat it." Johnny snapped.
The man stepped back, closing his door.
Johnny pointed at Robby and Miguel. "You two, stay put."
“Are you kidding me, Dad?” Robby asked.
“I don't know how many times...” Miguel trailed off.
"Quiet!" Johnny yelled. "You want to hang on to your grudge? Fine. But at least be a man about it and put your fists where your mouths are."
"You want us to do what?" Robby asked.
"Fight it out. No points. No mats. Just keep fighting until you get it all out of your systems." Johnny responded.
"What? Here? Now?" Miguel asked.
"It's a time. This is a place. Unless that was all just talk," Johnny said, raising an eyebrow.
“Not for me.” Miguel said.
“Or me.” Robby said.
"All right, let's get on with it." Johnny told Robby and Miguel.
Johnny took a step backward.
Sarah took a step backward.
Robby got in a fighting position.
Miguel got in a fighting position.
Miguel kicked Robby in the face, causing his nose to bleed. Robby kicked Miguel’s leg. He fell. He got back up.
"Come on. Is that all you’ve got? I thought you guys were sworn enemies." Johnny said.
Miguel punched and kicked Robby a few times. After kicking Miguel in the side, Robby kicked him through the door that led to the stairwell.
"Hey! Stairwell's out of bounds!" Johnny yelled.
Robby and Miguel started fighting on the balcony of the second floor.
"All right, that's it! Fight’s over!" Johnny yelled.
The fight continued. Robby tried to punch Miguel, but Miguel dodged the punch. Miguel punched Robby in the face, causing him to stagger backwards.
“Robby! Miguel! Knock it off!” Johnny yelled.
Robby was nearly leaning over the railing. Miguel was holding Robby’s shirt and repeatedly punching him in the face.
“Shit, shit!” Johnny yelled.
Johnny and Sarah ran up the stairs.
Robby looked at Miguel with fear in his eyes. Miguel let out a yell and lowered his fists. He panted as he backed away from Robby.
Robby panted as he got in an upright position.
“Why'd you hold back?” Robby asked.
“I didn't get into karate to hurt people. I did it to be a badass and find balance.” Miguel said.
“Yeah, I understand that.” Robby said.
“Last time we fought like this…Uh, how come you didn't hold back?” Miguel asked.
“I wanted to finish the fight. I mean, not like that. I just…I…I had tunnel vision, and I got so angry that I just…” Robby paused. “I mean, I barely knew where we were. I'd take it back in a second if I could. I was the cause of the worst moment in your life. If it's any consolation, it was the worst moment in my life too.”
Miguel smiled. “Yeah, I'll take it.”
“So, is it over? Are you guys good?” Johnny asked.
Miguel and Robby nodded.
Johnny let out a sigh of relief.
“Thank God. If you still hated each other when the baby gets here...” Johnny trailed off.
“Baby?” Sarah asked.
“Wait. What? Like, you and my mom?” Miguel asked.
Johnny sighed. “Yeah, we're…Uh, having a baby. We were supposed to tell you together, so act surprised.”
"Holy shit!" Miguel yelled excitedly.
“Yeah, like that.” Johnny said.
Robby smiled. "Dad, that's…That's awesome."
Sarah, Robby, and Miguel hugged Johnny.
Amanda, Sam, Anthony, and Jessica were at White Castle. Sam and Anthony were eating potato chips, and Amanda and Jessica were drinking milkshakes.
Anthony raved about Sam’s fighting skills. “That was like an action movie. You were like Jean-Claude Van Sam.”
Sam giggled. “I can teach you if you want.”
“I thought you were done with karate.” Anthony said.
“Yeah, me too. I don't know. I guess I just wanted things to go back to the way they were before karate overtook everything, but the reality is…” Sam paused. “There will always be assholes and bullies in the world. Sometimes, it's nice to know how to fight back against them. I know chores aren't really your thing, but we could fast-forward past them. Don't tell Dad.”
“No problem. I’ve been lying to him for years.” Anthony said.
Sam and Anthony laughed.
“A couple of good eggs there. But Sam? Whoo! Girl has skills.” Jessica said.
“It's in her blood, I guess.” Amanda said.
“I'll say. So is…Uh, protecting her loved ones. That one she gets from the both of you.” Jessica said.
“Mm-hmm. And the larger point you're clearly trying to make is?” Amanda asked.
“We just got into a bar fight! Over nothing.” Jessica said.
Amanda and Jessica laughed.
“Daniel, on the other hand, has every reason to hate Terry Silver after what he put him through. I still have nightmares myself sometimes.” Jessica said.
“So, you're saying I should cut him some slack?” Amanda asked.
“Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying.” Jessica said.
Johnny, Sarah, Robby, and Miguel were in the Diaz family’s kitchen.
Johnny put the basket of Olive Garden breadsticks on the table.
"All right, dig in." Johnny told Sarah, Robby, and Miguel.
Sarah was sitting next to Robby.
Johnny sat next to Miguel.
Johnny grabbed a breadstick.
Sarah grabbed a breadstick.
Robby grabbed a breadstick.
Miguel grabbed a breadstick.
Robby took a bite of his breadstick. "Wow. You weren't kidding about the breadsticks, Dad."
“I wouldn't lie to you.” Johnny said. Sarah raised an eyebrow at him. “Three times in one day.”
Carmen walked through the door.
Sarah smiled. “Hi, Carmen.”
Carmen smiled. “Hi.”
“Hi, Ms. Diaz. I hope it's cool I'm here.” Robby said.
Carmen smiled. “It's very cool. You're welcome here anytime, Robby.”
Carmen walked over to Miguel and kissed the top of his head. “Hola, amor.”
Miguel smiled. “Hola.”
Carmen and Johnny walked away from Sarah, Robby, and Miguel.
“These guys are getting along now? How did you manage that?” Carmen asked. “Don't tell me the bruises on their faces mean you beat them into submission.”
“No, of course not. They beat each other into submission. Don't worry. It was all supervised. It was actually LaRusso's idea.” Johnny said.
“I didn't know you and Daniel were working together again.” Carmen said.
“We weren't. But I think we might need to.” Johnny said.
Daniel arrived at Stingray’s apartment late at night with a new PS4. Instead of seeing Stingray, he saw Terry. Daniel told Terry that he didn’t come to fight and yielded the Valley to him. Terry told Daniel that his plans went far beyond the Valley and gloated about how easy it was to disrupt Daniel's marriage. When Terry suggested wooing Sam and Anthony into Cobra Kai, Daniel attacked him. As Daniel battled with Terry, he struck the wall behind Terry, bloodying his knuckles, much like Terry forced him to do when he was a teenager. Using Daniel's rage against him, Terry defeated him and left him out cold on the floor, but not before telling him that the real pain was about to begin.
Tory and Kreese were in the visitation room at the prison.
“Everything was supposed to be better after the tournament. But it's only getting worse. I'm becoming someone I don't want be. I'm hiding the truth from someone I care about. I'm lying to someone I fear. I'm delivering anonymous notes that could put people in danger. There must be another way. Or at least somebody else out there who wants to be in this fight. Just tell me there's an endgame to this. I need to know it's not all for nothing.” Tory said.
“There is an endgame, kid. Silver's going down. Only he doesn't know it yet.” Kreese said.

The Masked Singer Season 3 Episode 13: The Battle of the Sixes (Commentary & Guesses)
Hello my Masked Singer loving friends! It’s that time of the week, time for Ana’s Masked Singer Recap. We are nearing the wire with the Masked Singer, now down to the top 6. So, ya, now the judges are like in their aha moment & they are going on the same page as me (and most of the internet as I saw from YouTube & Twitter comments), so we are going to honor the judge who got it with a trophy emoji because they deserve a trophy & a round of applause yelling FINALLYYYY YESSSS! Anyway, the guest judge for this episode was pro chef & the Simon Cowell of the culinary world (think about it, that’s a pretty accurate description for him), Mr. Gordon Ramsey, so the contestants had food clues called “Masked Munchies” which we will be talking about. Anyway, let’s get started! (Disclaimer: Spoilers ahead, proceed with caution.. don’t say I didn’t warn you)
Alright, so let’s start with the elimination/mask coming in 6th place (I kind of wanna do their places from now on) was:
*SAD DRUMROLL PLEASE*
THE ASTRONAUT 🥺😭
Tumblr media
Ok, so yeah I was really upset by this one. Seriously?! He went out wayyyy too early in my opinion... his performance of Story of My Life by One Direction was amazing & it showed his vocal range, I loved it. He was one of my favorites on the show (only him & Turtle are my faves), so I am so sad to see him go. I adore him & not like just Astro but also who he is (which I knew from his first performance... actually from the promo of his first performance haha)
Having said that (and cried a bit out of disappointment), he was revealed to be...
HUNTER FREAKING HAYES
Tumblr media
Notice how I said freaking in between his name. It’s because I genuinely adore Hunter Hayes. I am not a country fan but I like love him. If I were older (we are 8 or 9 year apart age wise), I would 100% wanna date him, because I genuinely think he’s super cute and so talented... and did I mention that I love him? Because I do! Ok, anyways, having said that, bitch ofc I knew who he was from Day 1 baby! His voice is so distinct & the new clues gave it away as well:
Masked Munchie: King Cake = Hunter is from Louisiana where this cake is a delicacy for celebrations
Crawfish= his hometown is the crawfish capital of the world (again I say Louisiana baby!)
Alright, not a clue, but let’s give the 🏆to Nichole because she ended up guessing as her final guess Hunter Hayes, hallelujah! To the other judges, it was a no from me, dawg.
Alright, so here we have it our top 5, baby! It’s not the top 5 I would’ve hoped for because Astro isn’t there, but it’s fine, I still am routing for my main man, Turtle.
Anyways, let’s look at the remaining 5 & do some commentary on their performances/reiterate why my guesses are all spot on:
1. The Kitty
Tumblr media
Performance: Ok, so she sang “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” by Marilyn Monroe and I really don't think this was her best performance (not her worst either, but not her best). I was expecting more from her to be honest. It wasn’t her best in terms of vocal ability. I just don’t feel like the song fit her voice nicely or as great as others she has done in the past. I think the song choice was a bit off for me.
Guess: Jackie Evancho
Tumblr media
Clues:
Masked Munchie: Cake identified by Gordon as an Opera Cake= Jackie is known to be an opera singer
Silver Apple= album called Songs from the Silver Screen
Nobody gets a  🏆 because none of the panel guessed it even though Gordon Ramsey was the closest.
2. The Rhino
Tumblr media
Performance: First of all, I am a bit salty that he didn’t leave so I am going to be a little more critical with him because I thought he should’ve been eliminated & not Astronaut. Ok, so he sang Die a Happy Man by Thomas Rhett and yes it was his best performance yet, but it doesn’t compare to the other contestants. He’s great and all but the other masks have more personality than he does and more vocal ability too.
Guess: Barry Zito
Tumblr media
Clues:
Masked Munchie: Spaghetti & Meatballs= reference to his last name Zito, Italian & sounds like Ziti (baked Ziti, get it?)
Yoga clues in the package= Zito is really well known for doing yoga & meditation before and after his games.
Alright, for this one, let’s give the 🏆 to Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg for finally connecting the clues. *round of applause*
3. The Frog
Tumblr media
Performance: Ok, again, I am gonna be critical, but this is mostly because I don’t like Frog and that he’s way overhyped, sorry I said it, if you like him, good for you, but no I don’t (I know a lot of people who do but I personally don’t). However, I do gotta say that this was his best performance and he did do something different which is what I wanted him to do in the previous round. He sang “Whatever it Takes” by Imagine Dragons, and it was surprisingly really good. I just, I don’t know, there isn’t any versatility in his vocal ability like some of the other contestants who can go into falsetto or a high note (or actually sing and not just rap, no shade just facts).
Guess: Bow Wow
Tumblr media
Clues:
Masked Munchie: Cat Fish= someone pretended to be him on the show Catfish & also it is southern (he lives in Atlanta)
Holding a basketball= “basketball is my favorite sport, I like the way they dribble up & down the court”
Alright, not a clue, but let’s give the 🏆 to Robin, YESSS I am so proud, I could cry (but I won't because I saved my tears for Astronaut’s elimination, yes I am still salty). What I really liked from him getting it was that Nichole was like ya it could be Bow Wow and there are a lot of Bow Wow clues, but no it ain’t Bow Wow, it’s Omarion... really Nichole?!
4. The Night Angel
Tumblr media
Performance: Yeah, oh no I am going to be critical again, yikes. Yeah, she can sing and has a great voice, she sang “Black Velvet” by Alannah Myles, which showcased her vocal range. I don’t know I just think that she is trying so hard to belt every note out that it’s getting repetitive. Omg, yikes I feel like I am being harsh, I swear I am not, I just don’t think this was her best performance.
Guess: Kandi Burruss
Tumblr media
Clues:
Masked Munchie: Crickets on a stick = co-wrote “Bug-a-boo” by Destiny’s Child
Rotary phones in the clue package= reference to her group Xscape’s 2nd album off the hook
Alright, not a clue, but let’s give the 🏆 to Jenny again but I am not surprised she guessed it because she kind of got it previously but second guessed herself a few times so.. I kind of believed in her. I was losing hope in Robin tbh.
5. The Turtle
Tumblr media
Performance: Ok, I saved the best for last aka my favorite ever! Did I think his performance was his best one yet? No, by any means, but I was happy to see that he did choreography. I loved the dancing, he really was being competitive with Frog, which I think is super smart of him to do. The singing is amazing, like always, but it didn’t show as much of his vocal range that I know he is capable of freaking doing some beautiful falsetto and I kind of missed it a bit. However, he really did stepped it up and performed the crap out of that song, which was Stay by Alessia Cara & Zedd (not my favorite song tbh).
Guess: Jesse McCartney
Tumblr media
Clues:
Masked Munchie: Chips & Apple Salsa = he is from NY aka Big Apple
King chess piece with a heart over it= he voiced 2 characters in the popular video game Kingdom Hearts
Stuffed Ram= he’s an Aries
Chess game= he has a song called check mate
Nobody gets the 🏆 because lemme reiterate this for the people who are as clueless as the judges IT IS NOT ADAM LAMBERT, THAT DOESN’T SOUND LIKE ADAM LAMBERT, ADAM LAMBERT DOESN’T SOUND LIKE A TEEN HEARTTHROB OR A BOY BANDER
Alright, so we are done! Let me know your thoughts! See you guys next week! Top 5 wow, my prediction is that Rhino will leave next. Bye!!

Soooo...like I said yesterday, I screwed up like 95% of my screenshots from the new Goodwin II household (James and his fiancee Itsumi Garcia), so I lost much of what I took, like their wedding (with a sneaky peek at Clayton Nichols getting his first kiss with James’ niece, Bethany Goodwin), James developing an interest in painting, Itsumi getting a job in the Culinary career track, and plenty instances of them banging like rabbits.
Needless to say, Itsumi got pregnant quickly and now it’s go time.

Affordable and Cost-Effective Digital, Content, Social Media and Influencer Marketing Packages for Brands/ Businesses to Weather the Covid-19 Pandemic
Tumblr media
[Marketing]
Let’s face the truth, life is not going to revert back to normal (pre-Covid-19) for quite some time, if not at all. Businesses and brands, must therefore look to adapt to the “new norm” and modify their business model, as well as sales/ marketing strategies. Sadly, the overall market is shrinking due to the effects of the pandemic, while the number of businesses remains the same, which means that the competition for market share is going to be even more intense than before.
Data out of China showed that:
“…more than 429,000 business have dissolved or suspended operations for the year so far…”
While in neighbouring Singapore:
“In just the first three months of this year, 239 companies went into liquidation, Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (Acra) data showed. This is compared with 287 for the whole of last year – already a record high since 2005.”
“Another 19,000 businesses and companies ceased operations between January and last month, data from BizInsights.net, an authorised information service provider of Acra, showed.”
Yes the outlook is grim, however, there is always opportunity for savvy brands/ businesses. We assist brands to communicate the value of their products/ services (we don’t advocate brands using the price strategy as there are no winners in a price war) to consumers through engaging and cost-effective marketing.
In light of the novel Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) Movement Control Order (MCO), we are assisting brand owners with even more affordable and cost-effective packages for businesses to generate much needed revenue through this very turbulent period.
During this MCO period, we’re happy to offer a 30% discount off all packages.
Also, after the movement control order is lifted, businesses will need to reach out to consumers with a share of voice to regain their share of market. We’re offering a 20% discount off all packages for all bookings before 31 May 2020 to assist in the recovery phase.
Can you generate sales during this MCO period? Yes absolutely if you have online retail presence!
“The research shows that most consumers across Asia-Pacific are active online while they have extra time on their hands, suggesting that brands can use live stream, online, and interactive ways to engage with their customers at home.”
Get your products/ services listed on online marketplaces/ your own platform now to avoid this situation – https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2020/03/28/retailers-upset-govt-not-addressing-business-employment-situation
MHB Digital believes that digital publicity should be engaging while being affordable and cost-effective. We believe in conveying the value of our clients’ product/ services through ethical, high-quality, and trustworthy content in a lifestyle and non-hard sell manner that will stand out from all the junk, tabloid clutter and fake news, capturing the attention of consumers as well as providing positive brand awareness.
“Writing, reviewing food, drinks, lifestyle and culinary fashion trends is in Tim’s blood.  He loves it, he lives through it.  He understands his subject matter, and is able to relate.  Tim is a fair reviewer and is always willing to support and cooperate. He manages a group of influencers who, together with him, gives their views to their followers on social media, their fair share of hunger for places to visit to enjoy a great meal, equally great drinks or a great product to purchase!”
Christian Nannucci – General Manager, Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur
“Highly conscious of the digital shift in consumer behaviour, Tim is knowledgeable in how he pens his reviews and strategizes his content to achieve high SEO rankings. This is definitely an important value add for us as service providers because Tim’s reviews attract just the right audience to his page, which ultimately benefit us in many ways possible.”
Lai Yen Yee – Director of Marketing & Communications, Westin Kuala Lumpur
“It was great partnership with Tim Chew and MHB Digital for our recent events. Their services provide us great exposures by the well-known KOLs for better brand awareness to the public. MHB Digital carefully selects the suitable KOLs to work with our brand which is great. We look forward to working with Tim and MHB Digital again in the new future.”
Nicholle Liew – Marketing Manager of Canmake Malaysia

We leverage on the strengths of the three (3) popular social media/ digital platforms (Instagram, Facebook and blogs) in Malaysia, to provide an all-round credible and attractive publicity for brands!
Instagram – for immediate and widespread publicity to consumers (we have a special technique that ensures that we promote your product/ service and you’re not paying for the influencers to promote themselves).
Facebook – boosting through MHB Digital’s social media pages with specific targeting to your potential consumers demographic to reach real followers and their friends (not foreign workers or ghost/ fake accounts)
Trustworthy Websites/ Blogs – a very cost-effect alternative content marketing solution (instead of you having to spend a fortune every month buying words on Google Search) which also serves to provide credibility, confidence, and more info to consumers who are already interested to purchase your product/ service but need the extra assurance of value before they make the purchase.
What about Tik Tok? Tik Tok can be effective for certain products/ services, while being totally ineffective for others. Therefore, we will need to first determine the suitability of your product/ service before utilising this platform.
Here are the marketing packages that we are offering for 2020:
Independent Business Owners Package
Ideal for independent entrepreneurs and small businesses who need to have the basic Share of Voice.
Independent Restaurant/ F&B Outlet Package

Ideal for brands who wish to highlight their products/ services on a premier website which features news by luxury global brands like Dior, Hermes, Burberry, Versace, Jaeger LeCoultre, Omega, Hublot, Longines, Montblanc, etc. etc.
