This book has it all! It was passionate and intense, it’s heartbreaking and hopeful, it’s sexy and emotional, poignant, and filled full of drama, lots of drama. It’s gripping, all consuming, and so addictive, it will take your breath away. It brings all the feels, I laughed, cried and cheered and got all melty, watching these two finally lay down their armor and give in to the love. Five huge stars for Hockey With Benefits by Tijan.

Mara Daniels doesn’t do relationships, and she doesn’t have any friends. She has learned that it’s best if she keeps her walls up and relies only on herself. But she does like sex, and the chemistry between Mara Daniels and Cruz Styles is sizzling from the moment they meet. But it’s just sex, no friendship, no texting just hookups.

Cruz loved the deal when she presented it to him, because he didn’t need a girlfriend. Hockey took too much of his time, along with his family and school. It was a win, win. Until… it isn’t.

Cruz sees Mara the real Mara and understands her more than she knows. Their story will pull at your heartstrings. I believe the circumstances of our childhood shapes us into the adults we become, even more than genetics. The traumas we have to survive and the way we are made to feel about ourselves stay with us.

This amazing story touches on some abuse issues. It was beautiful to watch Cruz and Mara peel back the layers of each other as they take back their lives. But the love and friendship that surrounds Mara and Cruz is humbling as they struggle with secrets, threats, rivals and feelings. I loved learning about both of their past, and being with them in the present, I understood and empathized with every thought and emotion. A thought provoking, captivating romance with all the feels!!

Ich habe noch gar nicht über dieses wundervolle Buch berichtet. 👀

Anabelle Stehl ist wahrscheinlich den meisten von euch ein Begriff, in 2020 hat sie ihren Debüt-Roman "BreakAway" veröffentlicht und die Reihe in 2021 mit "FadeAway" fortgesetzt und mit "RunAway" abgeschlossen. Im März diesen Jahres erschien ihr neuester Roman "Worlds Collide", wo es um Youtuber, London & Vorurteile geht und dieses Buch hat mich aus einer Leseflaute geholt.

Ich bin durch die Seiten geflogen, konnte alles so klar vor mir sehen und habe mich gemeinsam mit Fiona & Demian verliebt.

Anabelle hat das Feeling der 2010er Youtube-Welt für mich perfekt eingefangen, ich habe es geliebt mit Fiona auf Events zu gehen, Fans zu treffen und London zu erkunden. (Eventuell ist ein Bild vom Natural History Museum aktuell mein Hintergrundbild.) Demian war mir unglaublich sympathisch obwohl er am Anfang wirklich wenig für Fiona übrig hat und zu lesen wie sie sich langsam kennenlernen und auch mögen lernen war so wunderwunderschön.

Was mich bei diesem Buch am meisten beeindruckt hat, war, wie wenig es mich gestresst hat. Social Media und Shitstorms stressen mich enorm, ich erwarte immer das Schlimmste bei diesen Themen und kann es gar nicht lesen, wenn Figuren darunter kaputt gehen. Aber Fiona war so stark, der Schreibstil hat das Thema mit so viel Fingerspitzengefühl und auch Pragmatismus behandelt, ich war einfach nur baff. Ich habs geliebt wie Fiona sich nicht einfach Falschaussagen beugen wollte und sich geweigert hat nach der öffentlichen Meinung zu tanzen und lieber ihren Weg gegangen ist, auch wenn er hart und lang war.

Zusätzlich zu ihrer Freundin Kaycee gab es da auch von überraschender Seite Unterstützung und das fand ich einfach großartig. Zu seinen Fehlern zu stehen erfordert immer viel Mut und zu sich selbst zu stehen ebenfalls.

Zudem fand ich es auch fantastisch wie Fionas familiäre Situation geschrieben wurde und habe so viel aus diesem Aspekt mitgenommen. Grenzen ziehen, wenn einem Menschen nicht gut tun ist gesund und wichtig und ich liebe das Buch umso mehr, dass es sich dafür stark macht.

This month of LGBTQ+ pride🏳️‍🌈 the book club decided to read this little beauty. Of course, we chose a book containing LGBTQ+ content. Then it is wonderful that the two authors are a married couple!🙏🏻

SPOILERS FROM HERE

"She Gets the Girl" is a sweet book about Molly going to college. Molly has had a tough time in high school with anxiety and being super shy. When she finds out her crush Cora is going to the same college as her, she decides she wants to try speaking to her.🙈 At her first party, Molly meets Alex. Alex is a freshman like Molly, cocky and has great confidence. Alex comes from a home with a drunken mother, an absent father and a girlfriend she is trying to convince that she can be left alone without flirting with everyone. When Alex finds out that Molly has a crush on Cora, she tells her she will help her get her dream girl and therefore be able to show her girlfriend she has compassion!

But like most of these "I'll help you get the girl" stories goes. They end up falling for each other without even knowing it. They end up being an arm's length away from their dreams when they both realise they love one another!🥺

I would have loved some extra content about Alex and her mom, about what happens in the future. Does the mom stay in rehab? Does she get the help she should and end up having her life back? Does Alex switch to an English major? Just some stuff I would love to know!

This is the second book in this series that I have read and I loved it. Luke and Aspen are perfect for one another. His ying to her yang. A wonderful story.

Aspen is a beautiful character full of pose and grace. Being a yoga instructor has given her a new life, but ballet is her love, her passion. Meeting the mysterious Luke was more than what she bargained for.

Luke laid claim the moment he saw the beautiful, blonde bomb shell. She is smart, intelligent, sexy and beautiful. To top it all off she has no idea who he is. A true rarity in his twisted world of gold diggers and social climbers. But will his desire to become more be the building block to make it all fall down.

This book like the first one I read is fun and highly entertaining. It is full of humor and snarky sass. Not only is it funny, it is sexy. With the scenes that will make you blush and the ones that will make you laugh, this book is sure to entertain and hold your attention for hours. It is a steady paced story and well developed. It is filled with interconnecting characters and new characters, making the story very enjoyable.

I think this is the rom-com of the season to read. I loved all the characters, especially sweet Sierra. She reminds me of myself when I was young. A tomboy whom loved sports and got along with the boys better than the girls. She was quick whit and fun. I can't wait to read more from Vanessa Vale.
