Ode to Death
Tumblr media
Art: Guillaume Martinez, Words: @writing-for-life
She walks among us, unseen but ever present,
Her name all but whispered,
Her laughter a melody that echoes through time,
A reminder that even in endings, there are beginnings.
Her eyes hold secrets of harsh farewells and tender partings,
And when she comes, it is not with sorrow,
But with solace for fractured hearts,
Giving passage to realms where pain finds release.
Her touch a benediction,
Her cool embrace a quilt woven with threads of memory,
Each soul a star in a celestial tapestry,
Each goodbye a note in eternal song.

If I am still whole, I cannot feel it,
Into my core, I am sleeping,
The phases I feel now are next to nothing; I am hurting,
Yet I cannot find a tear,
To shed my burden,
It is as if I am sleeping, but still the world keeps turning.

Small Revolutions [2/8/24]
a million small revolts
can add up to a revolution
if now it seems pointless,
like what you're doing isn't enough
you're not alone
there is a story
it's always stuck with me
it's about a man who tosses
starfish
back into the sea
someone tells him
that he can't possibly
save all those starfish,
but he saved so many,
did he not?
just because your small revolt
doesn't make a dent,
in the giant hurt of the world,
some individual, someplace,
was saved
and what happens,
if many more people were on that beach
how many starfish could be saved,
if enough people
did something deemed insignificant

Tired
When I say I am tired
I sometimes hope people can see
for what it's worth
almost like a plea
I am constantly fighting myself
telling myself, "it's not worth it"
I cannot stand on the side
and see my family crumbling inside
with no answers to why
and justify it with a sad smile
I cannot see them die inside
when I finally find my peace
where the thoughts aren't following me
in the never ending battle with me
if only it was so easy to sleep
then perhaps I won't be tired
but I am.
So stop telling me how I should feel.

You are chaotic up close. You function in oxymoron's. You're like an impending collision that's hard to look away from.
Please don't leave me.

A Wish
Even i wish to stay the same
I want slither into that corner of yours
Come up to you gently
Kiss you tenderly on the cheek
Say that I love you
Just hug you tightly
And quietly adore nature's beauty

Your Beauty
What do I see in you,
From your crown down to your toe?
The thoughts in your mind and your soul that’s true.
I shall tell these, so in words beauty does grow.
Your hair that falls
Like the fire in the Yosemite,
Does compare to the sword that guards the walls
Of Eden, held by that heavenly entity.
Your eyes that could allure
Conquerors into the thickest of jungles
My attention they adjure
And when I see them! Why, my heart stumbles.
And so my heart I base on yours!
For this year and then many more.
For man, would fight many wars,
Just for the beauty, in that heart I adore.
Your soul is the gold the colonizers sought.
It is filled with the glory they needed.
It is stronger and louder than guns with which they fought.
It is too good to be unheeded.
So, please do not abjure me.
Even if I’m not who you desire.
I will sit by you, lonesome but with glee.
For there I will write your beauty for the one you’ll admire.

I write my truths
My faults...
The hurt I feel
You've read it all
I am an opened diary
I have nothing to hide
Every post you see is how I feel inside
It may seem one sided
But I'm sure others can relate
Anything I've said is up for debate
I've been at this for years
And at times it seemed like a struggle
This writing thing fits to me like pieces of a puzzle
I write for you, I write for me
My words can be meant for anybody
I don't want to stop
I'm so close to the top
It's been written
And I hope you all can bare witness

Everytime I think about what I’ve created
I feel my heart shake and jump around
It gets so excited to be seen
Finally
It screams
‘Thank you! Thank you for letting me out!’

Immortalizing you
You are everything that I hate Everything that I regret now Everything that I can’t even forget about. It’s impossible to turn back
What if I never called quit. What if you stood by me. What if we were meant to be. In my head we could Only if
You never ever see All the things I did just to move on If this is my last night immortalizing you Just for you to know That I will tell my legacy about How I went heartless because of you
I never moved on. I don’t think I really can. I hate myself for not letting you go. That toxic, you know?

Fungi Funeral [1/4/24]
Who decomposes
a fungus, when she dies?
Does her next of kin, break her down,
thinking "Oh, oh, dear mother of mine"?
Does a mushroom return
to the earth that she's built?
The earth that she's turned
into dirt made from silt?
Does a mushroom grieve
for her family, forgotten?
And is she alone
until she herself is rotten?
Do fungi feel
as alone as we do?
Does a mushroom want
a love just as true?
I've read that fungi
make paths in a way
similar to those
that a computer may.
Are we the same?
Both inside and out?
After all, after death,
we become a brand new sprout

In This Life
We were always so near
Yet so far apart
You were always in my sight
Yet just out of my reach
I wish i had accepted it earlier
What i knew my heart was saying
I wish i hadn't been so ignorant
I wish i didn't make those mistakes
Because all I wish now is
We were together in this life

Love?
So, what is love?
This thing that we chase.
Is it a gloriful gift from above?
Or, is it from a more strange place?
For I have seen love in the mountains,
And I have seen it flow into the brackish rivers.
Love even flowed in the most dry desserts .
More common than water, and chased like wealth; It must be life’s pillars.
So, if place doesn’t matter.
From where does love come?
Love even has many a actor
That plays the role as an excuse to be scum.
So love doesn’t have a standard.
Nor does it have a home.
Yet, people flee from their own substandard,
Leaving love abandoned and alone.
Which makes me wonder, how could a heart beat
To such a chaotic drum?
Knowing the possibility of being filled with conceit.
Knowing that it could be broken and left glum.
Yet all our hearts keep marching on.
Knowing the path isn't promised to last.
So, we musn’t question
We must make our own unique love the part that will last.
(I don't really care for this so forgive me if it's substandard but I wanted to post it still)
